Jen did my hair and make up (along with my mom and my sister's) for my wedding in Palm Springs this year, and I could not recommend her more. Not only did my HMU turn out better than I could've imagined and lasted through three outfit changes and an after party, she was the first one I saw the morning of my wedding, and set the whole tone of the day for me. Her calm demeanor, beautiful energy, and of course talent, made me feel confident, at ease, and reassured for the whole day. Nothing but rave reviews for Jen and her team!! From the trial to the big day she was a dream to work with.
Jen is a true professional. She's clearly talented at that she does but she is also able to take critiques and make those changes to give you exactly what you want on your big day. My trial was amazing but I ultimately decided to go with a more natural makeup look and a more relaxed curl for the wedding day. I sent over my comments after the trial and she implemented them perfectly the day of my wedding. She was also so nice to accommodate coming back to do another hair look for my reception!
Jen has really honed her craft and it helps that she is a pleasure to be around. It was lovely having her with my group the morning of my big day!

I could not recommend Jen enough! I am the type of person who immediately redoes their hair as soon as they get home from the salon and I have never in my life liked my makeup when it's been done professionally and I was seriously obsessed with Jen's work! I have red hair and extremely pale skin and have found that when I get my hair and makeup done, all too often makeup and hair artists just try to do what they normally do on people with other hair and skin tones and it just doesn't work on me, but Jen is such an amazing listener and is so good at interpreting your wedding vision and giving you exactly what you were picturing! I hate looking at pictures of brides that look nothing like themselves, or just completely overdone on their wedding, and Jen does such a good job of making you look exactly like yourself, just little better! Jen also brought such a fun and calm energy to our wedding morning, I really appreciated both her work and her presence!

I really struggled with finding a hair and makeup artist for my wedding -- everyone I spoke with talked about how they wanted to make me feel like a pretty princess, which is very much NOT my vibe. As a bi woman marrying a man, I desperately wanted to find someone who would have the right understanding and attitude about my background and not make me feel like I was making a bad choice by going for a more natural look. Jen was all of that and more! Despite being very booked up, she still managed to fit my wedding into her schedule. I was concerned about the distance -- she's based in Palm Desert and my wedding was in LA -- but her travel fee was extremely reasonable. She did a rehearsal session for no charge before my engagement photoshoot, and the moment I met her I knew I'd made the right choice. She's super fun, very warm, put me at ease immediately, and did an amazing job on top of it! I trusted her so much after that one session that I drove out to Palm Desert for a haircut a mere few weeks before my wedding, and was thrilled with the result (she's soooo good with curly hair). She was an absolute gem for my wedding: I felt so beautiful, while still looking like myself. My hair and makeup didn't budge all night, and I felt just as put together hours later as I did at the start. I truly can't recommend her enough!

We cannot recommend, Jen enough! Jen is one of the most incredible people we have ever worked with. She is kind, talented, and inclusive of a diversity of clients. For my wife and I, having a hair and make-up professional who was aligned with our values and could do great work with various hair textures and skin colors was absolutely essential for our wedding day, and Jen + her team more than delivered.
Jen was easy to work with from start to finish, and was amazing at receiving feedback. She made us feel at ease on our wedding day, and all of our family and friends loved working with her.
One of my favorite things about her business is that she conducts her prices based on length of hair rather than gender. Jen and her team were an absolute joy to work with. From the moment I messaged Jen, I knew she would be a perfect fit for my wedding day beauty dreams! We met for a trial before the big day, which was calming and reassuring for me as a destination bride. I hired Jen for my rehearsal dinner and wedding hair and makeup and I couldn't have been happier with my decision! Jen was super easy to work with, organized, and so nice! Working with Jen for my wedding was an absolute pleasure-- from the first few minutes of the trial I felt right at ease, and we had a great dialogue with even better results. She made me feel very comfortable, and was the right combination of professional and warm.
Like some other reviewers on here, I've had not-so-great experiences with wedding makeup, and Jen and I were able to troubleshoot my past experiences and make sure I felt my best for the wedding, and I couldn't be happier with where we landed.
She is really communicative throughout the entire process, and very client-friendly. I wish every hair stylist I've gone to in my life was more like Jen!!
She also did makeup and hair for my mother and sister, and they were thrilled with their results. Unlike me, they didn't have a trial, but Jen jumped right in and knew exactly the right questions to ask and how to meet their needs.
All of our wedding vendors were fabulous, but Jen was truly extraordinary and I'd work with her again in a heartbeat.

Where do I even begin with how incredible Jen is? Not only is she gorgeous (literally a rockstar), hilarious, and such a calming presence on your wedding day, but she is absolutely amazing at her craft! I came from out of state for an elopement, and Jen executed my vision perfectly without ever having met me in person. Jen is AAAAAAMAZING. Had the best experience working with her for my hair and make-up for my wedding. Look no further - you have found your hair and makeup person for your wedding!! After seeing her work on Instagram and then reading the many amazing reviews on Jen, it was a no-brainer to go with her. She was so responsive, so helpful and truly AMAZING AT WHAT SHE DOES. I have never felt more beautiful in my life!! We planned our wedding before Covid and through the couple years there were many edits. Jen was so helpful every step of the way - even when other vendors wouldn't even respond to me. She is just soooooo good at her craft I felt like I had nothing to worry about on the day of and it was true. Best HMU in Palm Springs!
Jen Martens is a true artist and I am so lucky to have secured her for my wedding hair and makeup! My makeup on the big day was transformative while still looking totally natural and the beachy waves she put in my hair were divine (and stayed put the entire night!). Jen is amazing! She is chill, down to earth, sweet, and has the best vibe. The Best There Is
I hired Jen Martens based on her stellar reviews on Wedding Wire and Yelp and her portfolio pics on Instagram. I was looking for a HMU that did both hair and makeup and practiced more of a natural look. I booked Jen as one of my first vendors over a year in advance of my October 2020 wedding. When Covid19 hit and my husband and I didn’t know if we were going to be able to hold our wedding after all. In July, we decided to downsize our small, 30 person wedding and do a micro-wedding of just 9 instead. Jen offered numerous options if the wedding had to be moved or cancelled. She was always optimistic, flexible, and reassuring in her emails especially considering all of the uncertainty this year brought not only for us but for herself and her business. I felt like I was chatting with a friend that I’d never even met.
Jen and I ended up moving my hair and makeup trial several times due to Covid closures but I was finally able to go in and see her in mid-September. We tried a few different looks for hair and I was obsessed with my makeup. I still looked like me, just beautified. She listened to what I wanted, was patient, and always checked to make sure I was happy with her work both at the trial and on the wedding day. Jen was also fastidious about keeping her station in the salon clean. I felt very safe regarding her kit and sanitization practices.
Jen was extremely professional with sending contracts and reminders, she worked seamlessly with our wedding planner for scheduling, and was just a genuine pleasure to work with. It was so fun chatting with her the morning of my wedding while she got me all ready to go and I really felt so comfortable and safe in her care. She made my mom and I feel absolutely beautiful! She is an all-star hair and makeup artist and you 100% want her on your wedding team.

I was planning my wedding to take place in Palm Desert, Ca all the way from Memphis, TN & I didn't have the opportunity to do a lot of hair and makeup trials, however, when I was reading reviews, I came across Jen. WOW! Not only were her prices extremely reasonable, but Jen was also really great at making me feel comfortable and didn't judge me for not knowing exactly what I wanted. All I asked was that she made me look pretty, and she did even better than that. From our trial the week of my wedding to my actual wedding day, Jen made me feel like a queen/ model. Jen did the hair and makeup for our wedding, and she was amazing! She is so lovely to work with and did such a beautiful job on everyone. She listened carefully to what each person wanted and beautifully executed each person's vision. I would highly recommend her to any bride looking for a natural look!

Jen and her team are truly amazing! They are so professional and talented and did a superb job of hair and make up for my daughter's wedding oct 27th/19. We are from out of town so our wedding planner highly recommended Jen and her team. The bride and her bridesmaids were all so happy with their results. I have never ever liked my hair after getting it done but my daughter convinced me as mother of the bride I needed to do it... so I did and I have never loved my hair as much, Jen did a really beautiful job, really loved it!!! Best hair and make-up stylist for your wedding
I hired Jen for our wedding in October 2019. Prior to the actual wedding, I did a trial and extended my appointment to include a cut and colour. This is the way to go so she could cut/colour my hair to the wedding day style. Jen gave me all the confidence in the world that she and her team would deliver on our wedding day...and she did. Every person in the wedding party looked fantastic. She was always on time, very organized, and a genuine pleasure to work with. All of our vendors knew of Jen as she is truly one of the best!

Jen was a DREAM to work with!
My experience with Jen was fantastic from our initial email exchange. She is professional, funny, kind-hearted and did I mention uber talented!? Because I had a destination wedding and traveling was difficult with my work schedule, Jen graciously worked on a holiday weekend to complete my hair/make-up trial. At my trial, Jen tried multiple hair styles I was contemplating, took excellent photos and notes and even sent me photos of other ideas I had expressed. Leading up to the wedding day, Jen was so flexible in reworking the day-of schedule numerous times without hesitation. She also takes the uncomfortable money situation out of your hands by invoicing bridesmaids directly, and before the wedding so that there’s no money handling/awkward “oh gosh, where can I find an ATM?” situations. Jen has her shit together yall! On the wedding day, her team arrived prompt and ready. I never once felt like we were running out of time or that anyone’s hair or makeup was being rushed. I felt relaxed and at ease! That just speaks to the overall professionalism and talent that Jen and her team bring to the table. At one point, I remember her team being ahead of schedule and kindly added a last-minute hair styling for my Mom. If you want a top-notch experience, do not look any further. Jen also provides touch-up kits, which honestly, I didn’t even use because my makeup lasted all day and night. And if all this wasn’t enough, I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day. Jen is a master at enhancing your natural features and beauty in a way that doesn’t look fake or make you feel photoshopped. The most important thing for me when getting ready on my wedding day was to be surrounded by my best girls and Jen fit in, in the most perfect way!
Jen has such an infectious calm and nurturing way about her. She is hilarious and she was like having a bestie do my hair and makeup.
She made me laugh and gave me great advice throughout the day as planners and coordinators came in with questions. I cannot say enough good things about Jen!
Oh yeah - and the hair and make-up was incredible!
I wear very little makeup in my daily life and I was worried about getting it done for the wedding. But there was nothing to fear! Jen she was super understanding about what I wanted and she nailed it.
I did a trial which was awesome and was so happy with my look. As I got closer to the big day I decided to change my hairstyle and make up a little. Jen was so flexible and made me look like me but better!

Amazing experience!
Jen did such a great job on my makeup and hair for my Joshua Tree wedding! She was so sweet and professional from the trial to my wedding day. Working with her felt more like hanging out with a friend than dealing with a vendor. I wanted natural makeup and loose curls with a bit of flair and she exceeded me expectations. She was so great at handling my hooded eyes, making them more like “my eyes but better” instead of trying to change them into a completely different shape. She’s also a miracle worker with hair. I have stubborn and slippery straight Asian hair. The hair style I wanted was pretty much the exact opposite of what my hair wants to do normally. But somehow she managed to deliver exactly what I wanted. I got so many compliments on my hair and the style held 14 hrs through several treks in the dessert, the hora and a late night after party.

In love with my wedding look and jen!
Jen is a hair and makeup goddess! I have never felt as radiant as I did during my wedding weekend!
Not only does Jen come highly recommended - she delivers! I had a very specific idea in mind (moody, dramatic, dark eye with matte, deep hue lip) for my makeup and she was able to achieve that and more to complete my look. For hair - I let her take the reigns and I am so glad that I did.
Jen is a true pro and she is so down to earth and easy to chat with. I actually hope to be real life friends with her because she is just a kind and genuine person!
Bonus: She sends you and your wedding party away with touch up kits! So amazing! Everyone was able to keep their face looking fresh throughout the evening.

I cannot recommended Jen enough! She came highly recommended from my wedding planner and after reviewing many stylists, Jen was an easy decision. I have very curly hair and many stylists aren't comfortable or very good at working with it. Jen killed it at the trial and then the day of I couldn't have asked for a better job. I also wanted very natural and glowing makeup, I gave her very little direction and she was able to run with it. 5/5 for Jen for sure!

I found Jen through a recommendation from my wedding planner, and I am so happy that I did! From the get go Jen made me feel heard and seen. We met for my trial makeup and she had me bring some photos of what I was looking for, but I am sure if you just showed up nothing in mind she would still be equally as helpful. (I recommend when using vendors to always have an idea in mind for what you want -- that way you can work together to come up with the perfect look!) As we sat and went through the makeup trial she stopped at each point to ask me how I felt with the look, what I wanted to change, what I liked or disliked, etc. Don't be afraid to speak up! Sometimes it can be intimidating, but Jen really wants for you to feel the most beautiful on your wedding day, so she is happy to accommodate!
I wasn't originally going to use Jen for my hair, because I had a family hairstylist that I had been planning on using instead. However when my family hairstylist ended up falling through Jen was a lifesaver and was able to book hair as well -- and it ended up working out for the best! Similar to my makeup trial, Jen was incredibly thoughtful and patient with my hair trial. I had less of an idea of what I wanted, so we worked together to come up with the perfect style to fit my dress and comfort level. I'm not a very formal person, so I wanted something that felt natural and casual. Jen definitely delivered.
But the absolute best part of working with Jen and her team was just how little I needed to worry about anything. Once I gave her the names of the bridal party and everyone else getting their makeup done that day Jen coordinated EVERYTHING. She created the schedule of when everybody needed to be where, and was even flexible with a few changes I asked to make at the last minute. On the day of she arrived exactly when she said she would, as did the rest of her team, and the entire day ran so smoothly because of all of her hard work. It was such a blessing to not have to coordinate anything on my wedding day, and I am grateful that Jen helped to ease my stress.
On top of that she uses high quality makeup products, which I was concerned about because I tend to have pretty sensitive skin and easily break out. I was glad to see her makeup kit includes high quality brands that I use at home.
Plus, I loved having the little kit she gave all of us at the end so that we could do lip touchups throughout the night. What a nice touch!!

I went for a more natural look with my hair blown out and Jen totally understood the ask and worked with me to execute everything to perfection despite my lack of knowledge in explaining exactly what I wanted. I only wish that I lived closer to Jen so she could make me look as good as I did for my wedding all the time. An amazing wedding experience
Being an executive in the creative field, I was very nervous to choose someone to do my hair and makeup for my wedding, knowing that I would likely have a strong sense of what I would want. When I was looking for someone to do my hair for my wedding I had no idea who to book! My wedding planner immediately recommended Jen and I am so glad she did!!! I checked out Jen's Instagram and saw that all the brides really just looked like the best version of themselves. I booked her not only to do my wedding hair but also to cut and fix my horrible hair color. She did an AMAZING job. On the day of the wedding she did the hair and makeup of me, my very picky maid of honor and my mom (who was super nervous about hair and makeup!). All 3 of us raved about what a beautiful job she did. My mom is still talking about how great her eyebrows looked haha! The best part though is that Jen is fun and really listens to you! (And she loves dogs) She made our morning such an easy and joyful experience. She really is as great as all the reviews say!!!!

My wedding planner suggested using Jen for my hair & makeup, and I am so glad she did! We scheduled a trial hair & makeup appointment prior to the wedding and it was such a great experience. Jen helped me figure out what I wanted, changed my hairstyle when I realized my original description wasn't quite right, and by the end of the appointment, I felt like I had just visited a friend! With that being said, I couldn't wait to work with her again for our wedding. Come wedding day, Jen was a prompt to arrive, kept to her schedule, chatted with my bridesmaids getting their hair &makeup done, helped me relax, and most importantly, did a beautiful job on my hair and makeup! All of my bridesmaids were also thrilled with their hair & makeup. All of our hair styles held up through the entire wedding and after party and both their and my makeup didn't fade after hours and hours of dancing, eating, drinking, and smiling. Natural never looked soo glamorous!
I absolutely LOVED working with Jen! My daily makeup routine is pretty minimal and I wanted a natural look for my wedding day. She listened to every vague input i gave and somehow figured out exactly what I was asking for! I have combination skin but she made my skin look glowing and she somehow made my brown eyes totally pop. We did a rehearsal session the day before so we could make tweaks the day of, but she absolutely nailed it on the first try! I loved the makeup she used, it didn't feel heavy or caked on and it lasted through the summer heat and sweaty dance floor. Not only did she do a stellar job, but I absolutely loved working with her. She's soo much fun to be around, rolled with the punches when the schedule didn't quite go as planned, and she just made me feel soo relaxed and calm. She also gives you a lip and touchup kit that came in handy all night long. I'm soo thankful to have had her on my big day, not only did she do a stellar job on me and my party, but she was such a joy to be around.

After interviewing close to 16 hair and makeup consultants I decided on Jen. Not because she was the least expensive but because of who she is, and how she made me feel at ease in chatting with her. She is organized beyond words - provides a timeline to match with the coordinator, provides the cutest touch up kits too! I had a very specific vision of my hair and makeup and Jen was extremely patient and made my vision a reality! Jen also did my hair, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her talent and professionalism on the day. Jen listened to the needs and wants for my friends who knew exactly what they wanted, and guided those who really had no idea at all. It was a true delight spending the time with Jen whilst we all got ready; she made sure we stuck to our schedule without ever making anyone feel rushed or hurried. Jen was such an absolute pleasure to work with throughout my whole wedding experience. Her talent is obvious from the pictures she shares so I wasn’t worried about that, but what I loved most is her fun real spirit. She isn’t all talk, just totally normal and made me feel calm on the day. Plus - I loved my makeup! Can’t recommend her highly enough. Love ya girl!

Jen and her team FAR exceeded my expectations. Working with her was an absolute dream. I had a fabulous trial and Jen was open to any and all changes I wanted and we were able to lock down the perfect look. On the wedding day her and the team were on time and so efficient it allowed us to relax and not be stressed while getting ready. Each and everyone of my bridesmaids looked and felt amazing! Jen somehow made me look even 100x better than at the trial, I am not sure how she did it but I was glowing like I couldn't even believe. Jen really means what she says when she has mastered the "natural look" I didn't have that much makeup done but still felt like a star. Jen seriously helped make my day perfect and on top of that my hair and makeup lasted the WHOLE night. After 3 full hours of dancing I looked like I had just gotten up off of her chair. The fact that she includes a touch up kit is such a nice plus but I almost didn't need it since I still looked so good! Jen is the best, I would recommend her over and over again. When her aunt told me and my fiancé that she had a daughter who was a talented hair and make-up artist in Palm Springs, I of course had my hesitance. But the more research I did on weddings and wedding vendors in the Palm Springs area, every photograph of a Bride whose make-up I fawned over, Jen was credited. I contacted her right away and booked her for my November wedding. I love Jen's unparalleled natural artistic talent because it is her passion and she truly knows her brand-- natural, classic, timeless beauty. I am very particular when it comes to my hair and make-up day to day, so when it came to my wedding I knew I had to find someone who I could trust completely, and Jen was that person. I got married on November 4th and in the very beginning of the planning process I was eager to reach out to Jen to check availability and hopefully secure her services for the big day! After reading reviews and receiving personal recommendations there was no question of who I wanted for hair and makeup. Jen and her team did my bridal hair and makeup along with my 7 other bridesmaids/family members and the experience was phenomenal! Each and every one of my gals loved the end result and got exactly what they were asking for. Jen and team truly listened to each person's request and executed beautifully; our hair and faces lasted through out a long day/night of eating, drinking and dancing! My experience with Jen from the trial to the day of was awesome, we went through a couple of different style options during the trial before deciding on the bridal ponytail of my dreams! :) Jen is so creative with her styling ideas and not afraid to go outside the box a bit...I never envisioned having a ponytail for my wedding day but after trying it in Jen's chair I couldn't imagine my hair any other way. On the day of, with everyone calling on me and the nerves starting to build up Jen was super patient when we had to stop applying makeup so I could respond to someone or making sure the color of my lipstick was just the right pink and taking a minute for me to take a deep breath. She made me feel comfortable, it truly felt like I was hanging out with a friend. I would highly recommend Jen Plus Colour to all brides looking for a talented, fun yet professional hair and makeup team for the big day!

Jen and her team did an amazing job for my wedding. With 7 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, myself and my future MIL, her team did an excellent job with so many women in one tiny hotel suite. The three times Jen did my hair and makeup (engagement photos, hair trial, and wedding day), I have never looked better or felt mkore beautiful in my life. Jen did hair and makeup for my Palm Springs wedding earlier this month, and I couldn't recommend her more! She helped turn my wedding day vision into a reality, and my hair and makeup stayed flawless all night - even after dancing like crazy. Jen and her team did my bridesmaids' hair and makeup as well, and they all looked absolutely gorgeous and felt super confident. Jen is very personable and has great energy, and she is also extremely professional and organized. Thanks to Jen and her team, the morning of the wedding was stress-free and smooth, which helped set the tone for the rest of the day. Jen is MARVELOUS! I am a local from the Palm Springs area but was planning a wedding in San Luis Obispo. When there was a minute when I thought I would be having my wedding in the Coachella Valley I found Jen on WeddingWire and loved her looks. I did look up MUAH vendors in the San Luis Obispo area but I couldn't get Jen out of my head, I took a chance and asked if she would travel to SLO and she was into it! I’m a very shy person so I was very nervous going into trial but this beautiful lady made me feel comfortable from the moment we met! She wasn't worried when I told her that I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do but she went off of the few things I knew I wanted and she did her magic! Jen and her partner Nancy were amazing troopers and had no problem working a super early wedding day. I give full credit to Jen for effortlessly keeping my nerves down, she really made me feel like I was just hanging out with the girls listening to music and she is super funny! All of my girl looked flawless and I’ve never seen my mother look so gorgeous and I’ve never felt so beautiful, Jen truly blended my hair and makeup perfectly with my art deco style wedding dress. My makeup lasted all day and all night! Jen is a true artist, she’s super talented, incredibly kind and has a beautiful personality, she was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day. You can see and feel that she loves what she does and cares about how you look as much as you do. Don't even question hiring her, just do it, you wont regret it!

Jen is incredible. I got married in Indian Wells and met Jen for the first time a month before my wedding for a trial. She looked through photos with me and we created a hair and makeup look that was perfect for me. She is super talented and I can't say enough about how much all the ladies in my wedding party loved her. She brought a team of hair and makeup artists to my wedding and did 10 people plus myself and my husband. Jen was great about creating a schedule that made my wedding day a lot less stressful. I can't not recommend her enough...her pricing is very fair as well.

Jen was amazing!! From the time we met for my trial to the end of wedding day hair & makeup we had a total blast! I made the mistake of choosing an updo that totally didn't work with my hair (the inspiration photo was thin, highlighted blonde hair & I have dark almost black thick hair with no highlights) but she willingly gave it her best shot! Though it looked great, it wasn't going to look like the photo no matter what we did. After my trial I decided to go with something that suits my natural hair much better. Since I live in Chicago I couldn't do another trial so I sent her photos and a detailed description of the new look. Jen was totally cool with giving it a whirl the day-of! I absolutely adored my overall look and all of my bridesmaids and mothers looked phenomal, too! Everyone on Jen's team was just as amazing as she is which was awesome. They all totally fit in with my girl gang and we had a great time :) One of everyone's favorite things is each girl got a "touch up kit" to go in their clutch with some of the products they used like lip color. It was the best! Jen is a true artist, but also incredibly professional and organized. Lastly, I emailed her 8 months after our wedding asking for the eyebrow product she used on me (best brows I ever had!) and she quickly responded with what it was so I could go purchase for myself. Talk about amazing! Thank you, Jen!!

Not only is she so talented and will make you feel like a million bucks, she is also sooo much fun to hang out with - which really helps make getting ready for your big day relaxing, fun, and memorable! They truly listened to our taste and were willing to make any adjustments we asked for. Our make-up looked very natural and came out beautiful in photos. She took the time to listen carefully to what I wanted for my wedding look and delivered that vision! She is so talented with both makeup and hair--my makeup lasted all day (even with temps in the 90s!), I looked natural yet polished, and my naturally curly hair was styled to perfection. Plus, Jen kept me laughing in the makeup chair while I was getting ready--she has a great sense of humor and is so easy to get along with. We had a destination wedding (I came all the way from Denmark) and it was a little nerve wrecking for me to find a make-up and hair stylist who I could completely trust in doing my hair and makeup. But all of that changed when I reached out to Jen. From my first inquiry I knew she was going to be awesome! She was very responsive and at my trial, she gave me a look that was natural and flawless!
On my wedding day everything went smooth. Jen did my makeup and hair perfectly – and everyone was raving about how beautiful my look was. Even my husband who usually doesn’t like makeup said that my makeup was perfect.
We got married on a really hot day but my makeup stayed looking fresh and beautiful the entire day and night – I looked as good at 3am as I did at our first look session at 3pm without without any touch-ups!
In addition to being really good at her job and loving it, she is also super cool. She is very fun, calm and professional, which I really appreciated.
I highly recommend using Jen to anyone, you will be so happy that you did!

If I could give Jen 6 stars, I would. I met her last year on a styled bridal shoot that my then-fiance and I were models for, and I knew right away she was the one I needed for my big day. I had done so many makeup trials with 4 different makeup artists and there was always something off. When Jen finished my look, I looked in the mirror and loved everything about it! She gave me a warm glow, a beautiful brow, and it was very natural looking but still amped up my features. The products she uses are top notch and she listens to your wants and needs and was a breeze to work with.
For my actual wedding day, she arrived early, well prepared, and had remembered all my notes for which I gave her regarding my makeup and hair (yes she did my hair as well!) from previous meeting. Before we left for the venue, Jen gave me a little bag of extra product for touch ups, which I am definitely thankful for!
After a long day and night of tears, dancing, sweating, and laughing, my makeup stayed EXACTLY the same! Thank you Jen for making my day to remember a beautiful one!

I booked Jen for my engagement session in Joshua Tree and I have no regrets whatsoever. I can't recommend her enough! I am actually a wedding planner in Southern California and have worked with a lot of hair and makeup artists. I have several hair and makeup artists that I work with consistently but I thought for my own engagement session I would find someone a little more local to the area to try out. I had fell in love with a few wedding blog posts from Palm Springs and what did they all have in common? Jen did the bride's hair and makeup so I know that this was meant to be. I reached out and thankfully she was available the weekend of our engagement session. Being in full swing of wedding season I didn't get a chance to do a hair and makeup trial (Something I am highly against because hair and makeup is so important - never try to save money by skipping out on the trial. The trial gives you a chance to figure out what looks good on you and works with your attire). Prior to the day I went over with Jen what I was thinking. Since I get my hair and makeup done a lot I kind of new what I wanted. On the day of Jen showed up right on time and did her magic. She was AMAZING. She had great questions to lock down the look and I could not have been happier. Even my fiance who sees me dolled up pretty frequently thought this was the best job anyone has done. She's worth every penny and then some. Don't skimp out of your hair and makeup for your day. Relax and enjoy it and have Jen take care of your and your entire wedding party.

There is no doubt about it; Jen and her team are the best when it comes to hair and makeup for weddings! I am a local girl from the desert, and I am also a little bit of a picky person, especially when it comes to my hair/makeup. However, it was easy picking Jen in creating my bridal look for my Palm Springs based wedding because she is simply the best.
From our first emails, to my hair/makeup trial to the day of the wedding, she was nothing but professional and understood exactly the look I wanted to achieve and was always so accommodating to any changes we had.
In total, she and her team glammed up myself, my sister (MOH), two bridesmaids, and my mom. She made us all feel extremely beautiful and happy with our looks. I received so many compliments the day of my wedding and I have nothing but love for such a talented artist.

I hired Jen for my May wedding in Palm Springs and she absolutely KILLED IT!! Jen and the 3 fabulous ladies she brought to do hair and make-up for my bridesmaids and MOB/MOG were TOP NOTCH. All of my girlfriends who have been in multiple weddings said that Jen and her crew were the BEST hair and make-up they had ever had done. Jen did my hair/make-up for my engagement shoot (which I also used as my trial for the wedding), rehearsal dinner, and wedding. Each style and look was unique and she did incredible on everything. Jen is extremely artistic and she has a great balance of giving you her opinion (because she knows what looks good) and letting you decide. Amazing. When I first started planning my wedding, I wasn't even going to hire a makeup artist. I usually don't wear much makeup and I didn't want to look overly done up for my wedding -- I wanted to look natural, like myself. When I've had makeup done as a bridesmaid, I've always felt it looks waaay too heavy.
My hotel planner Olivia at The Avalon insisted I work with Jen -- she couldn't recommend her highly enough. Now, up to that point, I was thrilled with every recommendation from Olivia, so I checked out Jen's site and sure enough, all of the makeup looked beautiful and natural. I decided to do a trial.
When I showed up, I liked Jen immediately. She has a great sense of humor, a calming presence and she knows what she's doing. She takes direction like a pro and she is straightforward in her advice. She plays up your best features, but in an elegant, subtle way. My fiance picked me up from the trial and he LOVED my makeup. (He was also worried I wouldn't look like myself but Jen did it perfectly.) Obviously, we booked her for the wedding.
Leading up to the wedding, she was incredibly well organized, professional and on top of it all. This woman has a serious system down. She was great the day of too -- very laid back and lighthearted, which is the presence you need when everyone's buzzing around pre-ceremony.
If I lived in Palm Springs, I'd want to be friends with Jen. Or at the very least, I'd want her to do my makeup again. I would recommend her to anyone, and coming from someone who's very particular when it comes to makeup, that means something. She. Is. The. Best.

I recently got married on November 20th 2015. As most brides, I was so stressed out about choosing the right hairstylist and makeup artist. I have long thick hair and have always had a hard time finding a good hairstylist. After hours of searching I finally found Jen and I'am so thankful I did. First, let me start off by saying that I'm one of those people who don't trust anyone with my hair. I used to have terrible experiences with haircuts/styling so now that I found a stylist who gets me, I don't stray. Ever. So you can imagine being from New Jersey and planning an engagement shoot in Palm Springs was frightening when it came to finding someone to do my hair. I contemplated doing my own hair to avoid it or just leaving my hair straight, but then I researched like crazy to find someone who could help me. I came across Jen's work because my photographer's sister used her during her wedding. I looked at Jen's instagram for awhile and decided if I was going to trust in anyone that I hadn't met, I would definitely want it to be her. She responded quickly and was very professional. Still, leading up to the day I was slightly worried bc we'd never met. I had nothing to worry about though because she's the sweetest person and is super talented. Right away, she got started after I showed her a picture of what I was going for. She also made me feel comfortable and is easy to talk to. And to top it off, the way Jen did my hair was one of my favorite looks ever! She not only gave me volume that lasted into the next morning (my hair usually goes flat fast), but she did my hair even better than I expected! My photographer said I looked like a "desert goddess" when I was done. One of my favorite pictures from our engagement shoot is one where it's just the back of my head showing all my pretty waves. I've gotten so many compliments on my engagement shoot hair! Seriously, Jen is amazing. Book her if you can! You'll feel awesome and not want to wash your hair bc her work is so pretty you want it to stay that way!

Jen is hands down the best! I live two hours outside of Palm Desert, but she did not allow that to deter us from developing a "vision" and great communicative relationship! Leading up to the big day, Jen was very easy to work with - she was very quick to respond to emails, answered all my questions, let me know what she required up front, and had very reasonable prices. She took into consideration my normal makeup routine and elevated it for my big day. I wanted to still look like me, but of course a little more WOW factor.. and she did just that! Both my face and hair held up during the whole day/night and my photo's turned out flawless. Jen is professional (yet fit in just like one of the gals!) friendly and someone you'd want to share the morning of your big day with! She provided me and all four of my bridesmaids with mini touch--up kits which came in super handy through the course of the evening. I can't thank Jen enough for making me feel like a beautiful bride on one of the most important days of my life, I am so lucky to have found her! Jen came highly recommended by my wedding coordinator, and I am so thankful I trusted her opinion. Jen and her team did such an amazing job. They were professional, fun, and extremely talented. All of my bridesmaids loved their hair and makeup - which lasted ALL day and night. I still get compliments on how great everyone looked. As a bride, I never once worried about my hair/makeup day of. Jen did a great job of taking detailed notes during our trial run and kept in constant contact when we decided on some slight changes weeks before the wedding. She makes sure that you get the exact look you are going for. You will not be disappointed when choosing Jen for your big day!

Jen was amazing. I live in Seattle and was planning a wedding in palm springs. I searched for a makeup artist via social media and websites and Jens marketing was the most impressive. I did a trial with her while in town and she nailed the look. Weeks before the wedding I asked her if she could do another make up session for a photo shoot the day after the wedding and she could! I'm so lucky I found her and SO happy I booked her for the next day. She helped make my vision a reality and she is so sweet. She fit right in with my peeps day of. I wish she was in Seattle so I could find all sorts of excuses to have her do my makeup all the time! I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for a makeup artist and jealous of anyone that gets to use her more often!

Jen is seriously the best! She came very highly recommended by my wedding planner, who I completely trusted with everything, so I just went with it and booked with Jen. I could not have been happier! From the minute I met her for my trial session, I loved her. She's young, fun, energetic, funny, and very talented. She gave me the exact look I wanted for my hair and makeup, and I felt so gorgeous the entire day and night! On the morning of the wedding, she and her crew showed up on time, set up quickly, got right to work, and made all the women in my family look fabulous! They made my mom look 20 years younger. She was even able to sneak in some time for my aunt who asked THAT morning if she could get makeup done.
Listen, you guys have a million decisions to make regarding your wedding. This is an easy one. Go with Jen Martens!

Jen was the best. She made me look my best and was so very accommodating, responsive and professional throughout the process. I requested a natural, retro look for my wedding at the Palm Springs Avalon Hotel and she made it happen for me. Not only that she gave very useful tips and advice on how to make my desired look fits best for me. She is also a wonderful person and I was very happy to have worked with her for the wedding. If you are looking for a make-up artist (and hair) for your wedding in Palm Springs area, look no further, Jen is your lady!

I loooooove Jen! My husband and I live in Canada but had a destination wedding near Joshua Tree, CA and hired Jen to do hair and make up for myself and my bridesmaids. I am SO happy that I found Jen and that she was a part of our perfect day.
Jen was always available via email to go over looks, ideas, and answer my questions. Jen is genuinely enthusiastic and you can tell she really loves what she does. When I was desperately trying to find vendors online, Jen helped me find my florist, Native Poppy. At the hair & make-up trial we went over 3 looks that I had in mind, took photos and decided at that time. It was really helpful having a pre-trial so that the day of the wedding went stress-free. Highly recommend!
On the day of the wedding Jen and her team arrived on time with her great attitude and we had a blast getting ready. All of my bridesmaids looked beautiful and were happy with their looks. I got so many complements and felt so beautiful...it was the happiest day of my life!
I am forever grateful...thank you Jen!

What magnificent and truly stunning work Jen did on my recent Palm Springs wedding. I am from Australia and Jen bought my idea of my perfect hair and makeup come to life with no fuss at all. She was articulate and creative but calm and casual and strived to deliver truly percent results. I had dehydrated skin which was no problem with all of her high end products delivering perfection of skin suppleness on the day. I would highly reckoned he skills and expertise for hair and makeup to any bridal party. She is also sincerely divine in nature as well which we all loved. ??

Jen did such a great job with my hair and make-up on my most important day! I had a Sunday brunch wedding and we were up bright and early. She even got to our venue before me! I think it's hard to find someone who's so great at both hair AND make-up, but she definitely exceeded my expectations! It was especially helpful and put my mind at ease to do a trial hair and make-up before the wedding. She's the best. Friendly, professional, fun and so great at what she does. She cares so much about making her clients happy. I can't even recommend her highly enough. You will not be disappointed! Best wishes :)

Wow. Jen and her team are AMAZING. Not only did she draw up a schedule to make sure everyone got through on time (and so that I didn't have to think about it) but she was so positive and so fun the day of my wedding (and the one other time I met with her.) She was so joyous and clearly loves what she does.
Equally (if not more) importantly I have never felt more beautiful and more like my very best self. She is so skilled and completely confident. A make-up genius.
All of my bridal party were thrilled with their looks as well. I can't say enough good things about Jen. Do yourself a favor and hire Jen.

Jen handled my hair and makeup and hair and makeup for my five bridesmaids/maid of honor, my mom and mother-in-law for my Nov. 22 wedding in Rancho Mirage, CA. I discovered Jen after she was recommended by my florist, David Rohr (of all things!) and after I had had a terrible “hair trial” experience at another salon in the desert. With only 1 or 2 days left in the desert before I had to return to New York City where I live, I called Jen and she was willing to meet me I think the next day, after hours at the salon where she works.
Jen’s willingness to meet me on such short notice and “save” me from a bad “hair trial” experience really set the tone for the rest of us working together. I knew right away here was a professional who was willing to go the extra mile for her customers. Gosh, does that count when you have a choice of so many wedding vendors as a bride!
Not only that, Jen was so professional to work with leading up to and on the day of my wedding. She patiently worked with 5 bridesmaids and 2 mothers answering I’m sure countless questions about their hair and makeup. Then, the day of the wedding, she whisked into my parent’s home with two other stylists and tow and banged out hair and makeup for all the ladies all in one morning.
When I wanted a slight adjustment on my hair, she accommodated me quickly with only a very minor tweak. And when one of my bridesmaids complained about the hairstyle another stylist gave her, it was quickly transformed into exactly what she was looking for. In short, she put all of my girls at ease.
My hair and my girls’ hair and makeup looked absolutely beautiful on the day. I was actually head banging on the dance floor and my style didn’t fall out! Now, that is talent. Then, at the end of the day it all came off with a couple swipes of makeup remover and a few pins.
I would not have felt as beautiful on my wedding day without Jen by my side.

My sincere thanks to Jen and her glam team for making us all look amazing!! From the first couple minutes into my trial session, I knew I wouldnt have to worry about I looked on my wedding day. The girls all showed up right on time and got down to business right away. We were even done ahead of schedule, which I have heard almost NEVER happens in the wedding world. I looked pretty amazing...if I do say so myself...and both my hair and makeup stayed throughout the afternoon and evening without any touch ups. It even looked great the next morning at brunch!! Bottom line - any bride would be lucky to have Jen on her special day. Not only fabulous at her job, but a geniunely great person as well.

Jen was amazing! She not only made me look amazing she gave me the exact look that I wanted. She was a delight to have on the day of the wedding. She made me feel at ease and was so pleasant and genuinely excited for me. She did both my makeup (my red lip looked great from ceremony through reception and even though I teared up a bit my winged eyeliner stayed put) and hair (she cut and colored it five days before the ceremony) and when the end of the right side of my headpiece got tangled she came up with a solution right away and pinned it into my hair beautifully. I highly recommend hiring her if you are getting married in Riverside County. Her prices are extremely fair and completely worth every penny!

Jen did an amazing job on my wedding day hair and makeup! Before I hired Jen, I had met with several people and was disappointed with my trials. After my trial with Jen, I knew I had made the right decision. She was easy to reach via email about setting up a time to meet and answered all my questions. At the trial she did 5 different hairstyles. I felt confident that she wanted to make 100 percent sure I liked what she had done. For makeup, she used great products and created the flawless, natural look that I had asked for. She also did my maid of honor's hair and make up without a trial. She perfectly executed the hairstyle she wanted based on a magazine photo. She was also a pleasure to have around while we were all getting ready. If you chose Jen for your hair and makeup you will not be disappointed!

Jen is amazing! She actually helped me on a few different occasions, not just for my wedding. First, she helped me find my dream wedding dress! She used to be a wedding consultant at a local wedding gown salon. That's actually how I met Jen and found out that she's also a makeup and hair stylist! I booked her last year to do my hair and makeup for my company's Christmas party. My hair and makeup turned out really pretty and that's when I decided that I wanted her to do my (and my wedding party's) hair for my wedding. On my wedding day, Jen and her assistant did an amazing job on our updos. Not only did she do a good job, but she's also very professional. She showed up right on time and ready to work!
If anyone in the Coachella Valley needs to get their hair and makeup doen for any event, you should definitely hire Jen!

Jennifer did both my hair and make-up, as well as the girls in my bridal party. I wanted a specific look for my bridal party and she was able to take what I had described (and pictured in my head) and make it a reality. I received so many compliments on my bridesmaids hair and make-up and how well all of the different looks were able to compliment each other, as well as how beautifully they matched the theme. I could not have been happier with her service and I have recommended her to friends many times since my wedding.
