Wonderful, Dayton local photographer

Jeff was wonderful to work with. He captured our event perfectly and was very professional. He was very responsive in communication and was very detailed in planning for all of our shoots. He is highly knowledgeable about the Dayton area and was well prepared. We would strongly recommend Jeff if you are looking for a reasonably priced, reliable, and fun photographer for your event.

Best quality pictures ever!! He photographed my brother’s wedding as well as mine, and we both couldn’t be happier with the results. He was very flexible with our schedule and went along with the random pictures we added along the way. He even got my dad to smile for pictures as well which was a bonus!!

So thankful we hired Jeff!

From our initial consultation to our wedding day, Jeff was incredibly professional, helpful, and exactly what we were looking for in a wedding photographer! He paid close attention to our questions and desires during our initial consultation. After that meeting and looking through his work, it was an easy decision to book him. And I'm so glad that we did! One of my favorite things about working with Jeff is that he gives you very clear directions about how to pose during photos. I don't take many pictures, so I was nervous about that part. However, Jeff made me feel so confident and I feel like it shows in the final photos! Also, his assistant photographer was absolutely amazing at helping us take care of those little things like a tie that's not straight and the veil in the wrong place. All of my bridesmaids commented on how easy and enjoyable it was to work with Jeff and they were so impressed at how he made the photo part of the day relaxing, but still kept us on schedule.

Five Star Experience

Jeff did a fantastic job, start to finish. He was professional and experienced, offering ideas for photo locations when we asked for them. He worked with us to plan a very thorough schedule for the wedding day (including who exactly needed to be where, when), then helped us stick to it. We really benefitted from his expertise while planning. He has an excellent overall understanding of weddings and brought up details we wouldn’t even have thought of ourselves. Of course, we were overjoyed with the quality of the photos, as well as the number and the variety. He worked with us to capture a few shots we had in mind at the last minute, and they came out great. He had a gallery online that made it easy to share our photos with anyone via email. Five star experience overall.

Could not be happier

My wife and I hired Jeff to photograph our wedding and we could not be happier with the work he did for us. He was always very professional, responsive, and punctual. As for the actual photography aspect, there is no one who does his job better than Jeff. He and his secondary photographer did a fantastic job capturing every aspect of our big day from all of the early prep all the way to the end of the night. He ended up delivering us over a 1000 pictures that were all so good that we had trouble picking out our favorites.

We also recently picked up our wedding album and it exceeded all of our expectations. The album is extremely high quality and we are blessed to have such a great reminder of that day. I would highly recommend Jeff to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Great photographer!

My recommendation is simple: hire Jeff. You will not be disappointed. We chose a package that included engagement photos also. We got great pictures from that as well as the wedding. We have had so many compliments on our photos. Our guests loved that he set up a monitor and played a slideshow of pictures from earlier in the day.

Fantastic!

Jeff was the best wedding photographer! I looked at at least 20 other photographer webites before finding Jeff. Once I saw his pictures, I knew he was the photographer for us. Jeff responded quickly to my inquiry and set up a meeting with my husband and me. After talking with him, we saw how detail oriented he is and how hard he works to capture the emotion of every moment. We knew that our day would be photographed perfectly with Jeff!
On our wedding day, he worked so hard the entire day. He arrived at 10:30 for getting ready pictures and was still there at 11pm photographing our final dance. Our guests even commented how attentive Jeff was. He did a great job making sure every photograph we wanted was taken, as well as staying organized so we stayed on schedule. I cannot wait to get my pictures back and re-live the entire day! Jeff is well worth the investment.

Gorgeous photos and all around amazing to work with!

I was first interested in Jeff Schaefer Photography because of the gorgeous photos I saw on his website (seriously, go check those out) but Jeff really goes above and beyond just great photos. He's clearly passionate about wedding photography and captures everything on the big day including lots of candid moments and small details as well as all the posed portraits. Compared to other weddings I've been in with other photographers Jeff was hands down the best at giving suggestions for posing and backgrounds and getting all those group pictures done quickly and effectively. He is also so fast and organized in getting your photos back to you, we had some playing at the reception (definitely a crowd pleaser) and all of them on a zip drive waiting for us when we got back from our honeymoon!

Jeff did amazing work; we couldn't be happier with the way he captured our day!

Jeff was fantastic! We love our wedding and engagement photos. He worked with us before our wedding to get on the same page on the type of photos we wanted and our timeline for the day. I really appreciated the way he communicated with our families. Some of our family members wanted to take their own photos, and he patiently let them take their photos before taking his own photos.

He captured our wedding in a timeless way. We didn't want pictures that would look out of date in a few years. Our photos are not over edited and are classic, just what we wanted!

What first caught our eye on Jeff's photos is the way he captured emotion. And he perfectly captured the emotions of our day.

My husband and I knew that choosing the right wedding photographer was going to be the most important part of maintaining memories from our wedding day, and we could not have been more pleased with Jeff Schaefer. It was the combination of his experience in shooting weddings as a full-time job, couple with his experience in the photography industry, that made him a perfect choice for our wedding. And boy, did he deliver! Throughout the wedding planning process, he was very available, answering our emails as we had them, and also working with us on setting up our wedding day timeline. And on the day of the wedding, you could not have asked for a more professional person keeping the stress level low recognizing his job is one of the most important ones that day! He followed the timeline perfectly and rolled with the punches as we needed more time here and there; he captured the various combinations of photos we asked for; he worked through some intense winds to capture some incredible shots; and he stayed through the entire wedding ceremony! Not only did he turn all of our wedding pictures 4 days after our wedding, but the pictures were OUTSTANDING. I don't know how he did it, but he was able to capture our personalities, our expressions, and really highlight the fun of the day. I don't even know how I am going to create an album because they are all SPECTACULAR. What's even more impressive is, when we shared the pictures with our friends and family, they were all saying the same things! Overall, everyone was impressed with the quality (and quantity as he had 1100 pictures) of the pictures Jeff shared back with us, as well as the way he just captured our personalities and behaviors perfectly. I continue to go through the pictures on a daily basis and I don't think it will ever get old. Thank you Jeff, and I highly recommend him for any bride and groom looking to make a great decision about preserving the memories of their big day.

Jeff photographed our wedding last September and did an amazing job! We were very happy with how our wedding photos turned out. We ended up with some awesome sunset photos and a great mix of candid as well as traditional photos throughout the day. Jeff was very easy to work with and very organized, which we really appreciated. He captured not only the major wedding and reception events, but also all the little wedding details including decorations. Great photos! This was the one thing my husband and I splurged on towards our wedding. The photos from this day will last forever so its important that they be perfect. Jeff is an extremely talented photographer and my photos are stunning. He offers three different packages of varying prices to match your budget and also offers hardback photo books that he himself designs (of course allowing the opportunity for your input). I had no idea of the types of pictures I wanted so Jeff took charge and put all of us in poses that resulted gorgeous pictures. I had a large amount of people to get pictures of (6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, 3 jr bridesmaids, flower girl, ring bearer, and 3 ushers, not to mention family members....) and somehow he managed to control the situation and achieve a fantastic result. I couldn't be happier with my pictures. If I had to pick one complaint it would be I wish it had gone faster, simply because it was 90+ degrees out that day and I was sweating like crazy...but then again, you can't rush art. I would recommend Jeff to anyone looking for truly beautiful and memorable pictures from their wedding. In my opinion no other photos compare to his.

He did an amazing job! He was very professional and has had a lot of experience in the industry! We did his all day package so we had pictures covering getting ready, our first look, three different locations before the ceremony, the ceremony, and lots of reception fun! He was so well prepared! Together we came up with a time line and had everything planned out creating a stress free day! He had great examples/ opinions on where to go before the ceremony. He also knew the ins and outs for example if we needed to have a permit for a specific spot or if we needed to give a deposit to reserve a place! We had a plan A and then a plan B just Incase the weather was an issue. I loved this because I felt like no matter what was going on with the weather I was still going to have great pictures and I did! The pictures were amazing and we get tons of compliments on them! He was great to work with and produced the pictures very quickly with in. 2-3 weeks!! Everything was great!

Both Jeff and his other photographer were wonderful. They captured a lot of great shots, including candid moments of our big day. They also worked well with the videographer so everything was in sync , and they kept things rolling without any issues. We're so glad to have so many beautiful pictures to remember our wedding.

Jeff Schaefer was the best!! During one of the most hectic times of your life, Jeff made the photography portion of our wedding perfect. He was efficient in the weeks leading up the to wedding and during the rehearsal and wedding he know just what to do. We just trusted him from the beginning and the pictures were perfect. We used his pictures for the thank you cards for the wedding and several guest and family members purchased the photos as they were great. Jeff did a great job with our wedding photos! He was organized, courteous and professional throughout the whole process. His second photographer, Becky, was also spectacular. She went above and beyond her job responsibilities (helping me pin up my dress when my bustle broke, for example). Jeff photographed our wedding at The Phoenix in February.

There are many photographers out there, and it can be hard to choose. My first standard was this: was there at least 1 picture on the photographer's website that was so good that I would willing to frame it and hang it on my wall, even if it was a picture of somebody else (i.e. not me and my spouse). Jeff was one of the few that met that standard. He's got some really amazing shots on the website.

But remember, every photographer is going to put the best of the best on their website. You can't pick a wedding photographer based on their 1 best photograph, because that's not what you are hiring them to do. You don't want 1 good picture and 499 mediocre ones. You want to pick your photographer based on their average work, because that's what most of the photos you get are going to be. So beyond the website, you need to look at sample albums where every picture in it was drawn from the same wedding. That is more representative of what you are actually going to get than a website gallery.

I'd say one of Jeff's strengths is his albums. Jeff's albums are nicely laid out and formatted. They really tell the story of your wedding day from start to finish. All of the pictures are solid on their own, but they really together better in the album. Some photographers we interviewed just did not have attractive album layouts. Some did not even have any sample albums for us to look at. Jeff's album is fantastic and will be a keepsake for years to come.

Beyond that, it was all about personal connection. The bigger studios do good work, but it's going to be a little less personal. With a smaller studio, you get that personal connection. To us, that was important. Jeff was pretty laid back and his style just matched our style well. He was super organized, with a detailed timeline and a specific shot list. We are structured, detailed oriented people so we worked well with him.

I highly highly recommend Jeff ! We used him for my daughters wedding and were so impressed that we had to have him for ours! At that time he even drove all the way from Cincinnati to South Bend Indiana so they could have their engagement pictures taken at Notre Dame! I also loved the pictures he had done at our venue for other weddings. I was especially worried being an older bride how I would look .. He listened to all my concerns and the pictures turned out beautifully. He had them posted online in a week and got the CD and album ready faster that I thought possible. We could not be any happier!

Jeff was recently our wedding photographer and I must say that I am 100% pleased with the results from our day. He captured the most beautiful photos I could have ever imagined. Our wedding day was a long one as we had our ceremony in Indianapolis, Indiana followed by a dinner and reception between Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio. Jeff never once looked tired or overwhelmed and he was always prompt and ready to suggest different pictures. He was so professional and courteous throughout the day too. Our ceremony being a sacred and religious one can be hard to capture on film. Jeff did a fantastic job capturing the essence of our holy temple on the grounds outside while observing the sacredness of what we hold dear to us in the temple. He was reverent and respectful of our religious views, which was wonderful. At my reception all of my guests were so impressed with him. The comments, both during and in the days following the wedding day were, "Your photographer was great! He was everywhere!" and "Your pictures are absolutely stunning!" I agree 100% with my guests. Jeff truly was there capturing every single moment he could and most of the time he was a one man show! The most impressive thing for my guests was his slide show of the pictures from the day. As he took photos they were shown on a slide show at the reception. It was so neat and unique. Everyone loved to see what had happened earlier in the day since not everyone attended the ceremony. Jeff's 2 week policy is fantastic. He was so quick to have my photos ready to go and our photo book ready to share. I am so excited for the photo book. It was so easy to do as Jeff takes your comments and works through the building process with you to make it a perfect fit for you! He is so easy to work with and is quick with getting your photos back to you. If you are in the Dayton/Cincinnati area, do yourself a favor and hire Jeff Shaefer as your photographer. Jeff did an excellent job at our wedding! He captured some beautiful pictures outdoors at the golf course before the wedding! The pictures look so natural and in the moment. The great pictures continued at the church and the reception hall. One of my favorite things was the picture slideshow that was running at the reception. It was great that our guests got to view pictures that were taken earlier that afternoon. I would definitely recommend Jeff if you want to fully capture your perfect day!

Jeff is an amazing photographer. He did a great job capturing our wedding day. There were times when we didn't realize his vision, but after the fact we were amazed by many of his shots. We couldn't be happier with our pictures. Jeff is very dedicated to getting all of the right shots and providing top notch pictures. Our albums turned out great. We were so impressed with Jeff and his fellow photographer/videographers professionalism and eye for detail. They were able to identify special areas for photos and moments. Jeff and his team was extremely relaxed and appreciated as we never felt stressed or rushed the entire day. He has an eye for great spots for photos and will strive to include any photos or ideas you have. His timeline he creates for the day gives structure to the day and ensures all the pictures you want are taken.

Many of our guests commente on how Jeff and his team were available for shots, but not intrusive. The guests were impressed with the pictures available at the reception. Needless to say Jeff was terrific. Even though we have only received the proofs, we are excited to see edited photos and the video.

We highly recommend Jeff and can't speak highly enough of his talent and professionalism.

Jeff was some of the best money spent on our wedding. Everything you've read about him is true, you'll get amazing pictures, easy to work with, the list goes on.

He knows exactly what he's doing in any situation and is great at taking charge when he needs to. We used him for both our engagement and wedding pictures and we have close to a thousand amazing pictures documenting our engagement, ceremony, reception, and everything along the way. He even knows the area so well that he can help in a pinch if you need a good place to take pictures at.

Jeff in one word = AMAZING! He was so helpful prior to the rehearsal/wedding with answering the billion questions I had and helping me stamp out a timeline. The day of, he was so thoughtful. That is one word that I didn't think I could associate with a photographer, but he was. He went out of his way to make sure that we were all smiles and provided pictures that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I can not say enough good things about the job Jeff did at my daughter's wedding.

First, he was so organized and helped us plan for the wedding day.

On the day of the wedding he was very personable but did not try to dominate the event. At the wedding and reception, you hardly knew he was there, yet he took all the shots we wanted.

The pictures were fantastic. So many spectacular shots, both posed and candid.

The best part, though, was working with Jeff afterwards to create the album. He was so flexible and accommodating. He touched up photos, for example, to remove exit signs or other things in the background. He allowed us to move photos around and group them the way we wanted.

There were so many great shots that we ended up adding pages to the limit of what the printer could physically put in the album. Plus he gave us a CD with all the pictures, included his touched up photos.

When we received the final album, my wife just looked at it and cried. It was that good.

I am so happy that we picked Jeff and highly recommend him.

I cannot express how awesome Jeff and his assistant were at our September wedding. He was so organized and knew exactly how to make our vision come to life without me having to ask. Jeff photographed our engagement session and our wedding and we could not be happier with the results. I was very picky in selecting a photographer and I believe that Jeff Schaefer is the one of the best photographers in the area and has the best value. Our photos are breathtaking and Jeff and his assistant did such a wonderful job capturing all the details and special moments of our wedding day. We have received so many compliments on our photos, and our guests LOVED the live photo booth at the wedding. He also set up a slideshow preview by the photo booth of the photos from the ceremony and formal shoots so everyone could see them right away! It was such a cool touch and something I've never seen before. I can't wait for the wedding album, which was beautifully laid out and available online for me to preview and edit (and I didn't make many changes). Jeff was easy to work with and I could just relax and enjoy the day, fully confident that everything would turn out beautifully. He and his assistant were both very professional and responsive to any requests or concerns I had on the wedding day. He even drove up to Notre Dame to shoot our engagement photos last year. My husband and I used Jeff Schaefer for engagement and wedding photos, and he was the perfect choice for us.

First off, my husband and I met at Ohio University, and Jeff made the trip out to OU for our engagement photos, understanding how special that location was to us. The photos turned out wonderfully, and he was willing to do any retouches that we noticed afterward (i.e. photoshopping out a garbage can that was in the background).

At our wedding, he fulfilled every promise, capturing unique, candid moments and helping us pose with our family and friends. I should add, his second photographer was a great addition; she helped me with my dress when she didn't have to when I couldn't count on my maid of honor. I thought the slideshow of wedding photos at the reception was a great touch that everyone loved.

I think this fact speaks for itself: Two of our friends booked Jeff for their weddings after seeing his work at ours, and another tried, but he was already booked on their wedding day.

The photographer was the biggest part of our budget (besides food) because I knew I wanted quality photos that I could look back on forever and remember and cherish that special day. Nearly one year after my wedding day, I can honestly say that Jeff was the only choice as I can still look at our (almost 1000) photos and know I have ever beautiful detail captured.

Jeff is worth the money and definitely worth trusting with your special day.

Since photos capture so many moments of a wedding that would otherwise be forgotten, my wife and I were very deliberate about finding a top-notch photographer who would provide us with pictures of those beautiful moments. We knew we wanted to book Jeff right when we started planning because we'd seen his awesome work for two of our friends' weddings and he definitely delivered for our wedding too!

We LOVED our engagement photos and have them hanging all over our house. we get so many compliments on the beautiful pictures and amazing scenery (my husband dipping me in the middle of the Roebling Bridge is SO cool and we'll treasure it all our lives)

Our wedding day was so fun with Jeff! Our guests loved interacting with him too. He was with us from the beginning all the way to the very end, capturing every minute! I think he spent more time with me than my own family :)

Jeff was an easy choice for my wife and me when we were interviewing potential photographers. He is extremely professional, listens carefully to the details you want to capture during your special day, and then delivers on those promises. One of the first things I started planning was the photographer. I found Jeff's website fairly easily, and was very moved when reviewing- the pictures were breathtaking! Unfortunately, I was operating on a very small budget. I was disappointed to learn the price of photographers. After speaking with a friend who worked with Jeff on his wedding, I decided to meet with him and give him a shot. Jeff was clearly a very experienced photographer. He helped us plan the day to the minute, allowing us to capture the moments we wanted, without wasting time and money. It was worth every penny and then some. I can honestly say that I am mad at Jeff for making it so hard to choose what pictures to buy! I love them all!!!!! Beautiful work!!!!! He even recommended that chapel we used! Jeff was my photographer for my wedding in August and I have to say this was the best choice I made for my wedding. Not only were the his pictures amazing and flawless he was my go to guy for anything I needed. He helped with everything including fixing my cake topper that kept falling off the cake! He was professional, fun and creative. I recommend him to everyone! Can't wait to get my album and show off his incredible work.

We met with several photographers before booking Jeff, and on initial meeting, he was the most put-together, professional, and accomodating. During the months/weeks/days leading up to the wedding, Jeff was easy to contact and responded to my emails/phone calls quickly. He is very organized, which I greatly appreciated as the wedding day has enough craziness of it's own!! On my wedding day, Jeff was on time, relaxed, and kept the day moving efficiently -- not to mention the photos were GORGEOUS!!! Everyone LOVED the photos taken earlier in the day that were displayed during the reception. We have just gotten our album in the mail and it is stunning as well. I would recommend Jeff to anyone - he was very much the calming influence I needed on my wedding day, and is an exceptional photographer who really delivers an amazing product. BOOK HIM NOW!!!!

I knew I wanted Jeff Schaefer to photograph our wedding based on my experience with him as a bridesmaid at my cousin's wedding 3 years earlier. I could tell he just knew how to get the images he wanted and the final pictures were proof.

During our initial meeting, Jeff was thorough so as to learn exactly what type of photos we wanted from our engagement session and wedding day. Jeff went to all lengths to get some perfect engagement shots in my parents backyard baseball field. Leading up to the wedding, he was patient as I worried about Hurricane Isaac. He had more than one back up plan but fortunately, we were able to do everything as initially planned.

The day of the wedding, Jeff and his assistant (Becky) made sure we were on time without ever making me feel rushed or like we were behind. Jeff made sure we were having fun all day long and helped to capture some fun moments on film. We took photos at my parents home and he was able to capture the scenery while portraying all of us beautifully. Probably most important was how Jeff captured the love Ben and I have for each other - we are glowing in our pictures and he captured our silly smiles and laughs througout the day. You can see the happiness and fun all of our wedding guests had too! One important note - I didn't even notice him at the ceremony in the church, but the pictures he captured are priceless. The 900+ photos truly tell the story of our wedding day and I cannot wait to get our photo album.

If you hire Jeff Schaefer, you will get someone who will truly capture the love in the air. He will make sure you have a variety of different images that will tell the story of your wedding day. You can tell Jeff truly loves photographing weddings and working with everyone involved. Most of all, Jeff will make sure you look beautiful on your big day. Jeff was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I were married this past St. Patrick's day. There was a lot of traffic because of the holiday and there was a two hour drive between our ceremony and reception venue but Jeff stuck with us the whole day. He even stayed later at the reception that he was planning- he was SO flexible. When we got the pictures back we were speechless. He is an absolutely incredible photographer and very worth the money.

Jeff was a wonderful photographer. It was storming, and I mean lightning, thunder, and rain, and he made my pictures look like it was sunny and beautiful outside. the only indication of the storm was my veil was floating around from the wind, which he made look ethereal. The book of pictures were so amazing that I added money to get more pages. I am so happy with my pictures. You get what you pay for!

I could'nt be more happier with the pictures that Jeff captured during my wedding day! They are all so stunning that their is not one photo that he took that i did not like! He captured our wedding day with such grace that you would'nt even know he was taking photos. If you are looking for a photographer look no more! Outstanding photographer that I would recommend to any bride and groom! Was easy to commuincate with, very professional, and we were able to see our pictures and first draft of our album within two weeks as promised. Jeff and his assistant Becky were a pleasure to work with on our wedding day! They were easy going during prep time and portrait sessions, and our entire group had a good time working with them both. Our ceremony and reception pictures are outstanding! And, all of our guests loved to see the preview pictures that were available at the reception and raved about the amazing shots! We are so happy with our choice!

Jeff and his assistant did an amazing job at my wedding in May! We got some great shots and Jeff really went out of his way to make the pictures great! He is very detail oriented and will make sure everything is perfect with you and your background! Stunning sunset shots & memorable wedding moments were not missed. Jeff captured every moment of our wedding beautifully. I would highly recommend him if you are looking for classic bridal portraits that transcend time. Jeff also is a great planner, he will be there every step of the way to assist in planning for the photography for your day! I was very happy with how he handled my wedding day, very prompt, proffessional & pleasant to be around!

Jeff was truly professional. The photos are beautiful. He and his assistant were wonderfully easy to work with, and they captured the evening perfectly. Jeff is without a doubt the best photographer that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He was always very on top of things and I never felt like I had to make sure that he didn't forget anything. Jeff was amazing at our rehearsal and on the wedding day. We barely even realized he was there and yet he captured the most unforgettable moments of the night. We have received so many compliments on all of our photos and we are so thankful that we found a photographer like Jeff to preserve our wedding memories. We hired Jeff to be our photographer at our wedding based on all of the excellent reviews he has received over the years and he did not disappoint! I've been to a number of weddings where the photographer is bossy, intrusive, and rude, but Jeff was none of the above. We had some very loud personalities in our wedding party and Jeff and his assistant worked exceptionally well with all of them. At one point he even let one of my groomsmen take his camera for a little bit. Jeff really helped make the day all about us and not the photos, but at the same time captured some awesome shots! I would definitely recommend Jeff to anyone looking for the best wedding photographer in Cincinnati. Oh, and he had all of our wedding pictures posted online within 3 weeks! We couldn't have had a better experience.

Jeff is an extremely nice guy who seems genuinely concerned with getting the best pictures possible on your wedding day. He is easy to work with and has an incredible turn around time. He set up a slideshow at our reception with pictures from earlier in the day and within a few weeks we already have access to the entire collection! Amazing!

We found Jeff's website after seeing his photos in a Cincinnati wedding planner. The composition of his photos really stood out compared to the others we looked at. In addition to excellent photography Jeff was very organized, professional, and very easy going. We love our photos! We would recommend him to anyone.
