    Perfect!!!

    We were so thankful to have Jeff as our wedding photographer. My husband is a photographer himself, so his standard of who he wanted to shoot our wedding was high! Jeff was our first pick and did an incredible job! He is super talented, creative, professional, easy to talk to and work with,l and made us feel really comfortable. He is a pro at what he does and we absolutely love the memories he captured! We loved the mix of his creative shots and how he captured the precious moments that happen throughout the day.

    UPDATE: I just wanted to update and reiterate my positive review now that I have received my photos. Though some on here seem to have complaints of waiting extended periods of time, I did not experience this. We received our photos within the 12 weeks agreed to in our contract (towards the end, but still within the agreed amount of time, and with NO prompting or reminders on my part). Our photos are beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. The posed photos are lovely but what really strikes me are the candid moments that Jeff captured. He managed to catch me, my wife (who is NOTORIOUSLY awkward in photos), and all our friends and family perfectly as ourselves. Posed photos are posed photos, but candids that truly capture people are hard to find and he BEYOND delivered. I've already received numerous compliments on the photos from friends, family, and some of my other vendors. Absolutely stand by my original 5 star review.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW:
    Was actually very surprised to see negative reviews on here, as all of my experience with Jeff was overwhelmingly positive. I had no issues with communication with Jeff and his wife, in fact they were downright speedy compared to some other vendors I dealt with. As far as the actual photography goes Jeff went above and beyond to get some amazing shots, up to and including dunking himself and his camera into the pool at our venue! In addition he was just an awesome, friendly guy. We spent time when we weren't taking photos nerding out together about video games. Though I haven't seen all our photos yet (our wedding was only two weeks ago), the previews he's sent us have all been absolutely perfect. More than worth the money, and I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

    In the wedding industry it is so important to find an appropriate fit. From style to personality, feeling comfortable with your vendors is a must. Jeff is an artist's photographer. He creates, inspires and pushes the standard norm. This was not only what we wanted for our images, but what we craved. Jeff made us feel so comfortable, and relaxed during both our engagement session and our wedding. He was very patient with us as our event evolved, even date and location was changed. He worked with us and responsive to our emails regarding each change. He also delivered our engagement images in a short time as well! We trusted his vision and let him do his art...best decision ever! This allowed us to enjoy our wedding, and feel incredibly present. He showed up to our wedding early and blended right in with our tight knit family in Big Sur. It was a small wedding...just nuclear family, and he was so personable, extremely professional and comfortable with everyone. He documented epic moments creatively and very tastefully. When we received our images they blew us away! I recommend this man for those that want something different, those that are looking for art to remember their day.

    Jeff is an artist who takes breathtaking, unique shots. If you go with him, you will not end up with your typical wedding factory shots. His pictures have vision and life. Overall, I'm especially impressed with his couple's portraits and candid shots. He did our engagement and wedding photography, and I am still blown away every time I look at our portraits! We had no idea what they would look like as some of the settings and poses felt random, but they ended up seriously amazing. And he has a true gift for capturing candids--he got some of the best photos, including one of our dog that is one of the best photos I've ever seen!

    In terms of choosing a wedding photographer, I think the most important thing is to find someone you feel comfortable with. I felt very comfortable with Jeff from our first conversations and knew he would know just how to capture our relationship. That being said, I also knew that he wasn't the fastest at responding, so my expectations were set. I think a lot of the negative reviews are from people who don't understand that Jeff is an artist who does his best to get back to you but sometimes may take longer than other wedding professionals who are more focused on the organizational side.

    That being said, I am so happy with our photos. And, Jeff is the nicest, most easygoing guy! I think any couple would be lucky to have him capture their wedding!

    Ordered an insanely awesome print from Jeff's gold records (www.imakegoldrecords.com) and wanted to take a minute to point out that Jeff has been incredibly responsive with me, and even threw in a few new mounts for another piece I ordered from him last year.

    Jeff doesn't take your "normal" wedding (and engagement) pictures, the pictures he takes tell a story and are interesting to people who have nothing to do with your wedding. He takes great unique shots and is great to work with. The only problem that we have had is that we ordered a wedding album as part of our contract and it has almost been a year and we still haven't received it. We have worked out the problem with him but are still awaiting the final product. Great overall experience and was able to show a sideshow at the end of the wedding to give guests a preview of the picture to follow. A bit pricey compared to others but if you are looking for a unique product and photos that you can share forever, this is the way to go.

    I completely agree with the other reviewer. His photos are crazy beautiful but he's not very good about following up after the 'job'. It's been over a year now and still no word (nor any responses to my dozens of phone calls and emails) about when or IF EVER we will get an album. It's not that he's dishonest -- technically we didn't have the album spelled out in our contract (it was just based on verbal agreement, which I now regret) -- I just get the feeling that he loses interest in his clients after the day of the shoot.
    I feel really conflicted about giving this review b/c he really was AWESOME during our engagement shoot and on our wedding day. He's got a great, easy-going demeanor, and I LOVE our pictures...but now I feel like I'm being left high and dry. I will revise this review as soon as I get an album, but till then, assume that we never got that album that we were promised.

    ***UPDATE AS OF MAY 2011***
    It's been almost 2 years, 30+ emails, and about a dozen voicemails and still no album! He does respond once every 10 emails/voicemails to say that he's working on it, but I find it hard to believe now.... It really makes me sad that this is the one thorn from what was otherwise an incredible experience for my husband and me. :(

    ***UPDATE AS OF JUNE 2012***
    Almost 3 years later, I finally got the albums. He really tried to make it up to us, and he was very sincere about it, so I definitely appreciate that. I like the album, but ultimately my advice is to go with him for the pictures (and fully expect that you'll have to check in with him frequently to make sure you're not forgotten), and minimize the output (prints, canvases, albums) that you order from him.

    I was so excited for my photos to come back, especially when he said it'd take a month for just the photos. Over 5 months later, 7 phone calls and a couple emails, we got our photos. I was so disappointed, they were lazy and uninspiring. Pictures with family and the wedding party were something I could have had anyone at the party take. We had a beautiful venue and we took most of the pictures in front of a bush with telephone wires in the background. During an 8 hour period, we only got 400 photos to choose from. There is no way I am going to ask him to have prints made for us, we might not see them for another year.
    I know there are photographer who can do just as good, if not better, for almost half Jeff's costs. Save your money and energy and use someone else. If you really have to use him, get a solid contract in place that spells out your exact expectations.

    Do not recommend. My wedding was several months ago, and I am still unhappy about our photos and the experience with this vendor.
    Most of the photos look quite amateur and not at all worth the cost. But perhaps the biggest issue is the fact that this guy was incredibly unresponsive.
    We paid the entire fee before the wedding (note to future brides - this is just foolish, and I cannot believe that I agreed to that!) - because we thought "he has to be reliable, after all he is kind of a 'star-photographer'". Our photos were due 8-10 weeks after the wedding, however it took an additional 3 months of emails, unanswered phone calls and finally (on the advice of the Better Business Bureau) a sternly-worded letter sent by certified mail which included the paper trail of our correspondence and contract), before he came up with the goods.
    A few weeks before the wedding we sent him a list of some of the shots we wanted - this was never acknowledged, and when we saw the photos we realized that he had just ignored our requests.
    I wish I had read the reviews before earlier.
