JD was the perfect DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception! Truly so friendly, provided everything we needed for the day, and kept the dance floor FULL the entire night. One guest even called it the "most electric dance floor"! So convenient that he had a mobile speaker for the outdoor ceremony, lapel microphones and handheld microphones for the ceremony and speeches, and had uplighting available at a very reasonable price. Where to begin, where to begin. From the START, JD was on board with everything that we wanted. I’m very type A and he executed everything and even more. He eased my stress for all the music from when guests arrived until we left for the night. Anytime I need a DJ, JD will most definitely be my person. -

We are so glad we chose JD as our wedding DJ! From start to finish, he was incredibly easy to work with, super helpful, and honestly one of the best vendors we booked. He is reasonably priced, incredibly talented, and super friendly! Our ceremony music was absolutely perfect. The reception was EPIC!! His set up was great, awesome uplighting to set the right mood, and he is a master at song transitions and MC'ing. The dance floor was packed all night, and we had countless guests tell us how amazing our DJ was. JD kept the energy high, read the room perfectly, and made the whole night unforgettable. Highly recommend!!! -

JD was amazing at our wedding. He was very flexible and willing to go with the flow of the night. He took the time to meet with us multiple times before the day to go over our details and expectations. The ceremony and reception went smoothly and we received many comments throughout the night on his skills and personable character! Would recommend JD for any event where you need a great dance floor! -

JD is an absolute DELIGHT. He was both professional and timely throughout the wedding planning process. JD takes the time to get to know you, your wedding (or event) vision, and makes you feel so incredibly welcomed and comfortable. His service is impeccable and he is a fantastic, engaging, and fun DJ. His cheerful demeanor and friendly attitude set him apart from the rest. I'll never forget his kind words on wedding day and the voice message he left us with well wishes. We hired JD for our 11/5 wedding at Forest Hall in Pittsboro, NC. From our first warm communications with him, we knew we picked the right guy! His pre-made form made everything simple to submit, and we were able to add any other requests in a Google Sheet that we could update throughout our wedding planning process. DJ accommodated our indoor ceremony, outdoor cocktail hour, and indoor reception with ease. His mixing and fading was fantastic and I LOVED trying to figure out what what coming next. This man successfuly faded Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" into B2K's "Bump Bump Bump"- he is the real deal. Thanks for a killer party, JD! -

Our photographer recommended JD to us and it was the best referral we got. He's responsive, knowledgeable, professional, and the absolute nicest guy. Working with him was so much more fun and personal than any of the big DJ companies (and somehow also less expensive??) We felt like the only couple on his list, even though I'm sure he's booked solid. Through our whole planning process he was available with advice and experience, and on the day of he gave 110%, kept everything running smoothly and had the dance floor energy going all night long. We felt so lucky to have him! -

We picked JD as our DJ because of his promptness, attention to detail, and excellent client recommendations. Those recommendations didn’t disappoint! He was an amazing host throughout our wedding reception, both by being comedic and keeping to our time schedules. The main request we had in our DJ was to play music geared towards all the different groups of people at our reception - both young and old, country and rap, fast and slow - and he did just that! All of our guests, and us, had an amazing time dancing the night away with JD’s beautifully written and hand-picked playlists. JD also has an easy to understand online portal that we used to make our specific requests and create our “no-play” lists. All in all, JD was so much fun and we wish we could replay our night with him all over again! Thank you for everything, JD! -

I can’t recommend JD enough! JD and I worked together on my wedding for nearly 3 years, due to postponements because of Covid. During this time, he was always responsive and positive when we spoke, truly trying to know us as a couple and offered great recommendations. My husband and I wanted a custom mix for our first dance and with little direction, JD made the perfect mix. I provided him with do and do not playlists and he not only adhered to those, but also made amazing transitions and knew what to play when. He captured the essence of what we wanted the vibe of our wedding to be perfectly. Our guests raved about him, commenting at how this was the most they ever danced at a wedding! Book JD!!! He is not only extremely talented, but his upbeat personality and professionalism make JD one of the best wedding DJs in the area. Couldn’t recommend him enough! -

JD was absolutely AWESOME at our wedding! My husband and I got married April 30th, 2022 and had JD service the music for our wedding. JD did more than bring the music, he brought TRUE vibes! He had us all on the dance floor the whole night. He did an amazing job blending my husband’s musical taste and mine. And still made it such a party! 10/10 would recommend JD to provide musical services at your event. I’m already trying to think of my next event I can hire him at 😂 -

JD was upbeat and listened to our requests. He nailed it during the processional as well as during our reception. If you are looking for a relaxed, upbeat, knows what he’s doing DJ… this guy is for YOU! I was recommended to him through Raleigh Photobooth Pros and was so thankful that he was available on my big day. I would 1000% hire him again if I needed a DJ. -

JD was wonderful to work with! He allowed me to add a lighting package at the last minute, which was amazing! He was so helpful in finding song selections, and kept the party going all night. He also organized one of the best moments of my wedding: My husband LOVES Metal and requested one metal song to be be played. JD made the moment AMAZING. Hire him! -

I cannot say enough amazing things about our wedding DJ, DJ JD Silverthorne!! You seriously need him in your life. When looking for a wedding DJ, we had not actually heard DJ JD in person before, which I would normally prefer, but he was one of our venue's recommended (not required) DJ's. I noticed on their Instagram page that he worked almost all of their weddings, and so I started following his Instagram page, and knew that he was the one!
He was so easy to work with throughout the planning process, never hesitating to answer any of my questions, even 9 months out from the actual wedding. He even created a custom mix track that my husband and I wanted for our wedding. He probably did about 10 versions of it for us until we got exactly what we wanted, with no hesitation!
On our actual wedding day, we had live musicians for the ceremony, and he provided all of the sound for them as well as our Reverend, and it was perfect. He emceed our reception, and kept the dance floor full the entire night!! He was able to read our crowd so well and knew exactly what to play to keep a diverse crowd, young and old, partying together all night long! Our friends were having so much fun, they didn't want the party to stop at the end of the night.
For your wedding day, you want someone who is experienced, fun, can provide great emcee services, and can read a crowd Look no further because DJ JD is definitely the one!!!

Our wedding was 2 weeks ago and my husband and I still talk about JD and the music he played at our wedding. JD is so fun, kind and genuinely cares about his couples. I told JD that I wanted a mix of rap, country, pop songs... so basically every song known to man, and somehow he was able to pick the perfect songs to play to keep the dance floor packed. He also had a ton of patience, because I would run up to him every 10 minutes during the reception to ask if he could play a specific song. I cannot thank you enough, JD for making our wedding day so perfect from ceremony, to cocktail hour to the very last song. Thank you for being a friend!!!! -

JD was excellent to work with. He really took our music taste and ran with it—the dance floor was packed the whole night! We used him for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and he demonstrated great MC skills. He is very organized and never missed a detail or a beat. Best of all he's actually a cool guy! We loved chatting with him over coffee and appreciated his attitude towards making our day feel like us. -

JD is awesome!! Not only is he one of the nicest people, but he also does a fabulous job! He did the music for my ceremony all the way up to the end of the night, including any announcing, and everything went so smoothly! I did not give him very much guidance on the music to play at reception - just mainly wanted people to be up dancing and he hit the nail right on the head and had all my friends and a lot of family on the dance floor enjoying themselves! JD worked our wedding in Minnesota a few weeks ago. To all non-local folks!!!: He is worth the travel costs, his DJing fees, and so much more. He took care of everything from getting himself to the venue (basically in the middle of nowhere) from the airport, to finding the equipment in a place he had never been before, to absolutely killing it as an all-around MC and DJ. He even made time to meet with our parents the night before the wedding to discuss certain elements of the night, actively listening to their requests and it showed! We cannot say enough good things about our hassle-free experience with JD. -

He was professional and we received so many compliments on the music. He honored all our requests and made it into a party atmosphere, like we wanted. We even had some friends ask about him for their own upcoming wedding. I wish I had just booked through him, but I am grateful that it worked out for him to be our DJ. He did great at MCing and the music flow was awesome. I highly recommend JD!
