Wedding Reception DJ

Jay was simply amazing at our wedding reception. Planning a wedding is a stressful time, but I knew our reception music was handled with Jay. He asks detailed questions, is wonderful with communication (i.e. if he can't get back to you right away, he lets you know that and also lets you know when he will get back to you). I knew he was prepared. He read all of the names of the wedding party correctly (we had some difficult ones!). He also listened when I asked to have music played at an appropriate volume during dinner (sooooo many DJ's play music incredibly loud during dinner). My biggest compliment for Jay is in regards to our first dance. We were supposed to get an edited version of our first dance song from our dance instructor - unfortunately that didn't happen. So, last minute (and via email, no less) I had to explain the dance move we were doing and the approximate time that the song needed to fade out. A huge ask. Jay was prompt with his responses (this all happened days before the wedding) and he NAILED the timing. Without ever having seen us or our dance. The music was perfect and he 100% watched for audience responsiveness to the music. Truly seamless transitioning. No gimmicky style, all class. He is spectacular, professional, and his attention to detail is amazing. We loved Jay! If this helps, we had an outdoor tented wedding reception of about 180 people.

Highly Recommend DJ Jay Gordon!

We worked with DJ Jay Gordon for our wedding and we were so glad to have picked him! He took the time to speak with us both on the phone prior to the wedding where he took detailed notes and listened to our feedback while offering strong suggestions. In the weeks leading up to the wedding he was meticulous and provided a thorough timeline for the day of. On the day of the wedding he was extremely accommodating and professional. He kept the party going and had people on the dance floor the entire time. Would definitely recommend DJ Jay Gordon for your big celebration! Thank you, Jay!

There is no one better

Jay went above and beyond as our DJ. He met with us before the ceremony to get to know us better and after just an hour we felt like life long friends! He also met with our wedding officiant multiple times and helped walk him through what the ceremony should look like (a friend officiated our wedding and this was his first time). Jay ensured that the day of events stayed on schedule while still keeping a relaxed atmosphere. The ceremony audio was great, all of our guests were able to clearly hear us talking. Most importantly, was the music. No one touched their cake because we were to busy dancing the entire night. Jay was such a pleasure to work with and we would recommend anyone use him to make their big day the best it can be.

Hire DJ Jay Gordon!

DJ Jay Gordon was great to work with! He was very professional from our very first consultation to the day of our wedding. We loved how he checked in with us and the bridal party before the announcements. He was extremely flexible when I needed to add a song the morning of the wedding too! We've never seen our family dance so much at a wedding ;) Totally recommend!

Great DJs!

It was so easy hiring Goodley Entertainment as our DJ company. I requested information for my date, including some samples of their work, and was told Jay would be a great option for us. I'm so glad we went with Jay! He was so easy to communicate with and his questionnaire got all of my questions & concerns answered easily. The night of the wedding went so smoothly & everyone really enjoyed his music! Such a pleasure to work with!

DJ Jay is the best

Great DJ!! He got everyone on the floor and dancing. Our guests loved DJ Jay, he had great energy. Also, he was quite flexible. We forgot to give him the names of our bridal and groom party but he really quickly took it down to announce them all. Definitely would recommend!!!

Wonderful experience with DJ Jay

We were so fortunate to have Jay Gordon DJ our wedding. He was easy to work with, very professional and accommodated all of our requests. One of my top priorities for the evening was that our guests have a blast on the dance floor and Jay definitely delivered!

Came through for us in every way!

Jay had a lot of hats to wear for our wedding. For our ceremony, he had many musical cues to hit. He went beyond expectations by editing some music transitions and fades in advance, so we could practice at our rehearsal. For our cocktail hour, we had a last-minute emergency, needing a much more complex sound setup for our live band than our musicians had let on. Somehow, Jay pulled it off and saved our cocktail hour! At the reception, Jay was a great DJ, reading the crowd’s energy and always hitting the right notes for music choices.

Jay was responsive throughout the planning process, keeping us on track, and professionally handling the challenges that were thrown our way. He gets our highest possible recommendation.

Best, most amazing DJ ever!

Jay was the DJ for our wedding. He went above and beyond all expectations. Not only did he listen to what we wanted but he worked with our other vendors to coordinate everything. He gave is invaluable wedding advice and even led us to find the venue we used for our wedding! He doesn't just play the songs either he mixes them and really creates a nice flow. He knows how to get the crowd dancing but also knows when to fit in nice slow songs as well. We went to a friend's wedding a month before ours who had a standard wedding DJ, they had twice as many guests as we did and only a handful of people were dancing. At our wedding everyone danced! I cannot recommend Jay enough as a DJ, he truly is priceless.

Working with Jay was truly awesome! He was professional, fun and went above and beyond to ensure sure we had everything we needed for our big day. He has amazing energy and our guests were dancing all night! We couldn't be happier and highly recommend Jay!

Jay took our reception to the next level! He was so fun and engaging and played the perfect mix of music. Many of our guests commented on how great he was — everyone from aunts and uncles to friends. He was super easy to work with and very flexible, which was amazing, as we were planning a destination wedding. I would definitely recommend Jay and would use him again if we were able to do it all over!

Where do I even start. Jay was amazing from start to finish. When I initially started my search for a DJ I was a bit nervous planning a destination wedding and unable to meet anyone person before I made my decision, so I relied heavily on reviews and my gut. I explained to Jay that I was very particular about music and wanted to avoid many of the traditional wedding songs, dances and gimmicky things and he did exactly that. Jay was extremely professional helpful and provided good insight into what works/doesn't work at weddings. He also stuck to my music playlist exactly and did not disappoint when it came to getting the crowd on their feet and dancing. Most of my wedding guests said it was one of the best weddings they've ever been too and by far the best music they have ever heard at a wedding. Jay truly customizes everything based on what you want and has a great presence that really makes you feel comfortable during such a crazy day. Brides don't look any further if you are in the Southwest Florida. Jay Gordon is the best!

Jay is a FANTASTIC DJ! He is helpful every step of the way. Jay is very attentive with his clients, a true professional. His customer service is top notch and is very accommodating to last minute requests. I was so busy with work I did not have time to look into what wedding cake song I was going to use or what song my wedding party would be introduced by, (etc.) so Jay was able to help come up with suggestions to make it easier on my end. Jay was always available when I had questions. He will make sure that your event is not one to be forgotten!

Jay was great all around. During the planning stages he was prompt to respond to our inquiries. He was 100% engaged in making sure our day was just the way we imagined. On the day of our wedding he was able to react and add a last minute request for additional sound during our ceremony. He kept the night moving and delivered a knock out performance during the reception. Can't overstate the excellent job that he did from beginning to end. We HIGHLY recommend Jay!!!

My husband and I used Jay Gordon as our DJ for our wedding last week! Hands down-BEST DJ EVER! We got so many compliments on him and our guests danced the entire time! Jay Gordon was fantastic and very professional to partner with planning the music for our wedding. We had our wedding on November 5, 2016 in Sarasota, FL at the Ritz-Carlton.

We have spoken with Jay quite a few times before our wedding, and He asked great questions to get know my husband and I to determine the style of music we are interested in. He took it a step further and also asked about our guest and family to have a clear understanding of their personalities to know what type of music to play.

He exceeded our expectations, was very professional, easy to partner with, and most importantly had everyone dancing and having a great time!

Jay was excellent! One of our only worries leading up to the big day was whether the group would dance and have fun --- that turned out to be what everyone was talking about. It was an absolute blast! Jay's approach leading up was very easy and he nailed it night of. Great mix and also great feel for the crowd, to make sure the music progressed from the dinner to the really fun dancing. Fantastic job!

Jay was the DJ at our wedding at Mote Marine in Sarasota last month and he was wonderful. He came recommended to us by our caterer, Nellies Deli Market. Jay Gordon was the DJ for our wedding this past Saturday and he by far exceeded our expectations!! All of our friends and family raved about him and loved his personality. It's obvious that Jay's highest priority is for everyone to enjoy themselves. Jay is a master at transitioning songs and feeling the crowd out, he even personalized a mix of songs for one of our dances! I live in Atlanta and it was a little challenging having to find vendors out of town, but Jay settled our nerves by skyping with us. I would highly recommend him for any venue with his dynamic style! Jay was the DJ at our wedding last March. I was so happy with the prompt communication, personableness, and the energy he provided during the reception! Extremely professional. Listened to what we wanted and what we did not want. Spoke with us in advance to make sure he gave us everything we imagined for our wedding but was also respectful of our time because he understands that we had a lot going on. He even researched and found some popular Polish songs to bring some of our heritage into the reception. With everything else you have to worry about on your wedding day you can trust that you will not have to worry about your DJ. He arrived way ahead of time to make sure everything was set up, worked with the musicians we had for the ceremony, even made sure our mics were perfect for the ceremony, broke everything down. Was professional the entire night, polite to our guests, and we had so much feedback from our guests about our amazing DJ. Read the crowd and kept everyone dancing for hours, young and old but also played appropriate easy listening music during dinner. Helped with the transitions from speeches, cake cutting, to dancing, we provided him with a timeline of when we wanted those things to happen and he kept the flow going without being overbearing. Extremely easy to work with, my favorite vendor during our wedding experience.

Jay is the absolute best! We met with another DJ and felt ok about it, but once we met with Jay, we knew he was the perfect man for our wedding! His excitement for what he does is palpable, and he has an incredible attitude and way about him. He was so responsive in all of our correspondence, and made sure to get a lot of information from us to make the ceremony and reception exactly what we imagined. We had a medium sized wedding with a wide range of ages, and Jay made sure to keep everyone interested and excited throughout the reception. He got people up and dancing that we never would have imagined! We were all having so much fun that we wanted him to stay longer, which he happily agreed to. I hope we can have another party in the future and Jay can bring his magical touch! He is the very best!!

Jay was very responsive and attentive to our wants/needs. We had a whole list of songs we wanted played and the ceremony and reception...I think he played every one!

DJ Jay Gordon was the by far the best and easiest vendor I dealth with throughout my wedding planning process. I booked him about a year in advance and I am so happy I did. I was planning my Lakewood Ranch, FL wedding from NY and Jay was very quick to respond to any emails, texts, or phone calls that I sent to him. He also made sure he was available the weekend a few months before the wedding to meet with me so that I could go over song choices and pick his brain in person. He was familiar with our venue, which made planning so easy. He had 2 different setups going so that he could provide the music for our ceremony outside and then be ready to go inside for the cocktail hour and reception. He gave me great suggestions for song choices for introductions and even made a custom mix for bridal party intros, he helped me with my needs for greek music and italian music for family members, etc. He also was able to handle uplighting and dance floor lighting for me and the room looked incredible. He matched lighting color to my color scheme and it was gorgeous. My guests were so impressed with DJ Jay. The dance floor was PACKED all night long. There were hours where there was not a single person sitting down. And best of all, you can tell DJ Jay was having a great time singing and dancing too as he did his job perfectly. People still talk about the music and dancing at my wedding to this day. Thank you so much, DJ Jay for everything!!!

HIRE JAY! Do not hesitate. He is the best there is and you will not be disappointed. Jay far and away exceeded all expectations we had for our wedding DJ. He met with us beforehand to go over our song lists and emailed back and forth with us multiple times before the big day to fine tune everything. He was receptive to our sometimes strange requests and was always super responsive whenever we reached out to him. As for his DJing on the night of our wedding -- all I can say is that it's been almost 3 years since our wedding and people are STILL talking about our amazing music and our DJ. Jay's DJing was a huge part of what made my wedding night perfect. Thanks to him, I danced all night and had the time of my life with my family and friends. I am forever grateful to Jay!!!

Really, what can I say about Jay Gordon, other than AMAZEBALLS? I give him 100% credit for our wedding reception being such a blast. There was not a moment when the dance floor was not full. Several people have told me this was the best music they have ever heard at a wedding (direct quote: "Best music playlist EVER")

Picking a dj/emcee is hard - they set the tone for the whole reception. I wanted someone who could create a fantastic party, while not being cheesy or obnoxiously harassing my guests to dance. I also didn't want to hand my dj a cd with a playlist - I wanted someone who could read the crowd and pick songs that would keep us dancing. I also didn't want downtime between songs.

Here is what Jay has going for him: 1) his personality. He is SUPER genuine, and just wants everyone to have fun, including the bride and groom, and he works hard to ensure that. That meant that in the planning stages, I was never for a minute stressed out about the music - he was responsive and organized and laid-back. And it meant throughout the evening he directed everything (dinner time, dance time, cake time) with an easy manner. He wasn't cheesy, but he wasn't absent. He made a couple comments other than the requisite announcements, but he didn't talk incessantly. Perfect.

2) His technical expertise. He was able to mix the songs into each other, so there was never a pause between songs. He worked with me to put together a 10-minute hora mix that - holy cow - created the most amazing hora I have ever seen. He was also able to shorten our father-daughter song by a couple minutes.

3) His instincts? Or maybe experience. All I know is he read the heck out of our crowd and gave us what we wanted. At one point he put a song on that didn't get a great response - he pulled it and replaced it within 10 seconds.

This is a guy who just wants everyone to have a fantastic time, and he more than delivered. Thank you for giving us such a fun party!

My wife and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ than Jay. He talked to us beforehand about our music tastes, and many of our guests commented afterwards how he was the best DJ they had experienced at a wedding. Jay also did a great job of helping set up the necessary sound at our ceremony venue and communicating with the musicians we had playing there, and also made our reception really fun without being overbearing or taking any of the spotlight. My wife and I would HIGHLY recommend Jay.

I honestly can't say enough about Jay. From day 1 to wedding day, he exceeded every expectation. He was the most responsive, professional, and enthusiastic vendor we had. In fact, I wish all my venders had been Jay. He never once seemed stressed or annoyed throughout our planning process. When the day finally came, he was dressed well and smiled. Thankfully, he wasn't even the slightest bit hokey (like every other "wedding DJ") and he smartly declined my drunk friend's request to give a shout out to the kayakers passing by. Bottomline, he had listened when we explained our vision and then he executed said vision. Best of all, he's an ACTUAL DJ. He can mix and blend and even create new versions of your favorite songs if you ask him to. With Jay, you've hired a musically inclined and talented person - not just some guy who plays a playlist. I keep thinking that I need to start throwing some parties so that I can hire him again because I honestly think he was worth every penny, and then some. Brides and Grooms, I can promise you this: Not everything will go smoothly. Family will make you mad. Some vender will screw something up. But at the end of it, when you wake up the next day and recall the best night of your life with your best friend and new spouse, you'll be proud of yourself for hiring Jay. I know we were.
