Javier was absolutely amazing! From the start, he was professional, responsive, and so easy to work with. On our wedding day, he made us feel comfortable and relaxed, which really shows in how natural and beautiful our photos came out.

As a control freak with a big vision and a film degree, I can say without hesitation that Javier is a miraculous dream come true. From the very beginning, he responded almost instantly, every single time. Not with copy-and-paste answers, but with real care and the kind of clarity that makes planning a surprise proposal from out of state feel possible. I was searching for someone local who had experience shooting surprise proposals and who understood how to beautifully capture African American subjects, especially in softer lighting. His portfolio proved all of that and more.
When I first messaged him, I shared the entire vision: the timing, the surprise element, how I wanted the emotions to unfold naturally, the details about my fiancée’s parents arriving separately as part of the surprise, how important it was for him to be close enough to catch every expression but invisible enough not to spoil the moment, and my own anxiety about getting everything right while flying in from Georgia. He listened, he asked smart questions, and he gave thoughtful input. It honestly felt like he cared about the success of the moment just as much as I did.
One of the most important parts of our planning was when he suggested adjusting the reservation time. I hadn’t realized how quickly the light fades this season in Puerto Rico, and his suggestion is the reason the proposal happened in the perfect lighting window. That alone shows the level of experience and intention he brings.
During the proposal, he was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Neither my fiancée nor I realized he was literally right behind us as everything unfolded. He captured the emotion so purely that looking at the photos feels like reliving the moment frame by frame. The joy, the shock, the tears, the way each person reacted—nothing was missed. He documented the energy, not just the visuals.
He delivered the photos in record time, and they are beyond anything I imagined. Every image is clear, rich, and full of life. When it came time for the posed photos afterward, he was gentle, patient, and precise. He made everyone feel comfortable and guided us without making anything feel forced.
Hiring Javier was one of the best choices I made throughout this entire proposal. He didn’t just take pictures; he preserved one of the most meaningful moments of our lives with care, intention, and artistry. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands how to tell a story through photographs—and who can hold a big vision with grace—Javier is that person. -

Javier was professional, prompt, and an incredible 1-person team! From capturing the area to candid photos and wonderful photos of the bride and groom, Javier captured the whole wedding day. Despite driving in from great distance he was energetic and covered the entire event quite well. He was also helpful answering questions and helping us find a natural, feel to our photos.

Javier was on time, professional and helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera. My husband is not picture taker, but Javier was able to make him more comfortable and give us lots of suggestions for getting great shots of the two of us. We had a small intimate destination wedding and Javier was able to capture all our little moments perfectly. He was super responsive and quick to communicate with all the way from Minnesota which really helped when you are planning from so far away. Everyone commented on how stunning our photos were, and I could not have asked for better results from our special day. Javier takes amazing photos and we cannot thank him enough for leaving us with the most amazing memories. Highly recommended and you will not be disappointed. -

The day of our wedding, due to inclement weather, our ceremony was about an hour delayed. He was there earlier than our scheduled time, had some cool ideas, was super professional and worked well with our photographer throughout our wedding. The video captured all the important elements of our day, as well as details of what was happening around us. It was beautifully edited and we are obsessed with it! Definitely recommend!

Javier was very professional from the beginning. My wedding was postponed an entire year. When that happened he had refunded me all of my money. We then signed another contract after telling him I wish to proceed with him as my photographer where I then paid him again. I have worked with tons of photographers in the past Javier was the best photographer I have ever worked with. I highly recommend him to anyone getting married. Or just looking for a special photo shoot. I feel very blessed to have found him he made my wedding memorable and we loved him. Very experienced and it showed. -

Engagement Photoshoot
I wanted to surprise my recently proposed to Fiancé with a photoshoot while we were on vacation in Rincon. Javier was absolutely amazing! Javier picked such a stunning location in Aguadilla. A beach with beautiful water, brick ruins, and some of Puerto Rico’s best sunsets. We had a ton of wind but Javier was able to guide us so that we could get some great photos. Javier’s package says that he will do 80-100 photos…. Javier sent us all the photos he took!!!! 700+!!!! 7x what we paid for. It is so awesome to be able to see all the great photos as well as the ones that we were not ready for. Such an incredible experience and it is all thanks to Javier! Highly recommend!!!! -

Planning a destination wedding can be scary and intimidating searching for the right team to capture our special moments was made easy and possible thanks to Javier and his Wonderful team!
Our wedding was rescheduled from its original date, due to the pandemic (COVID-19). We are so thankful for how understanding Javier was and willing to be flexible and available in accommodating to our new wedding date.
For our big day, Javier and his assistant were both EXTREMELY to the most:

I booked the video and photography package for 4 hours for a small destination wedding with 40 guests. I will say it wasn't the best experience, especially the photography part. But I will start with the positives.
I can see that Javier really tried to make it up to us and gave us what I had requested. For example, since he was a little late, then he extended his time to make up for it which I was glad about. The video came out great. He did a short recap of the wedding and captured the important parts. Everytime I watch the video, it's all happiness inside. I also requested for him to send me some raw footage of the speech, and he did. And I truly appreciated that.
The Cons:
1. The photography part was bad. Javier had his partner take the pictures. At the end of it all, I was given about 2k of pictures and it was hard to pick out the good ones . There were like maybe 20 bad photos for every pose/ same moment (like mid opening of your mouth,etc) and it was hard to pick the good ones. I still haven't posted my pictures in social media since it stresses me out to go through it and pick it out and then edit it. I would suggest next time to send your client at least 30-50 really good photos organized in one folder. Then another folder of ALL the other photos. This will significantly decrease the stress of your clients.
2. Upon the arrival of the photographer, he wasn't talking much and I don't think he knew what he was doing? He was very proactive in taking photos. We didn't have the luxury of taking our time to take photos. He didn't have directions on where to stand for better lighting, what people should do, etc. I had to tell him and tell my family. This was before the ceremony. I don't know if there was a language barrier issues. But regardless, there were some pretty bad photos because it was against the light, etc.
3. Before the wedding, I tried to pre-plan and contact Javier to let him know what type of group photos I wanted. I also wrote an itinerary/list for him so he can be prepared. He just told me that I need to assign someone who will ensure this wishlist is done or that my wedding coordinator should ensure to coordinate this with him. So I informed my coordinator of my wishes. On wedding day, I felt like there was no communication between the coordinator and the photographer. I felt they both should have been proactive in communicating with each other. He was a little late but I honestly didn't care about it since I was busy preparing. And he called me directly to let me know, which I wish he called my coordinator instead since that's the reason why I hired a coordinator- to streamline the communication and lessen the stress on wedding day.
4. I'm not sure if there is some language barrier, but I also felt that he had some unprofessional responses to me before the wedding. I decided to put up with it since he seemed nice, and the photos in his Instagram are beautiful, and his pricing was the most affordable I could find. I am not sure if this would have been a different experience if I could speak Spanish.
5. Upon delivery of the product online, there were some delays because he said the Internet/signal in Puerto Rico was slow because of the weather. I think there should be a back up plan like sending the pictures/videos in a USB by mail.
In conclusion, I don't want to obviously ruin someone's livelihood. It seems that he's a nice guy. But I will say that if you want less frustration on your wedding day, and you are willing to pay a little bit more, it might be better to find someone else. Otherwise, maybe ensure that Javier is the one taking the photos and not whoever that was that was his partner.Javier Pinked Photographer's reply:
Im sorry that you feel that way about my partner style of photos … He is not a possing photographer he like to capture real moments and he like natural light not flash sorry if that was not what you wanted but as you said i did the video not the photos and if you see my reviews and my portfolio on instagram you can see my work. Another thing is that if i sent you all the photos that he took its because all my clients like to have it all no matter if there are some better than others.

We tried to direct you and your family for group photos and asked you to be in a specific area where the sun was better for photos and you just told us we want the photos here…
Im not sure but sometimes your way to talk to us was very rude like you dont care about our directons so how can you now say what you said .
If every review i have its a good review but yours is a bad review i think that the problem is not my work so 🤷🏽 thanks for taking your time Connie at least you have all the photos and a great video 🫶🏽

I had previously left a review about a negative experience. I am writing again because I cannot edit my previous review. Hire this photographer at your will; just know he may or may not follow through with all your needs. We requested a refund post event, and we were finally able to get 45% of our payment back since he wasn't allowed / able to finish the job.
