    My husband and I got married in March and Jason photographed both our engagement shoot and our wedding. My husband and I were not interested in "traditional" wedding photography; we knew we wanted something a little more off-beat and candid to truly capture the real moments of our wedding as it actually happened rather than a series of orchestrated, posed photos. We discussed our wishes with Jason, and explained to him that we did not want to be pulled away from anything at the wedding to pose for photo's. On the day of the wedding, I barely noticed that Jason and his colleague were snapping photo's, they blended right in to the scene and captured our whole entire day so perfectly. Jason got our wedding photo's back to us quicker than I had expected, and when I go through our photo's I feel that the day was documented so well that I am able to re-live every moment as it happened. Jason was incredibly easy-going and easy to work with. If you are looking for documentary style wedding photo's (or any style really), I would recommend Jason Messer Photography to my best friend!

    have nothing to say but GREAT things about Jason.
    I came to know his work through 2 friends of mine who were married in 2009......I saw their pictures and absolutely LOVED them!
    At the time I wasnt engaged...but I had him bookmarked in my computer....for when I was (which I knew was going to be in the near future)
    Anyhow...once we were engaged, Jason was one of the first people we contacted for vendors we needed......and luckily he was available for our wedding!
    He suggested we set up a time to meet and my fiance and I went to meet with him. During the meeting he spent about an hour talking with us.....telling us his background...showing up a bunch of different weddings he had done....and asked us about what we were going for.

    What I had liked about the pictures that I had seen online, and from our friends wedding...is that it wasnt the same old cliche posed & boring shots that you see in almost every wedding album. That being said....he has a very artistic.... really hip/cool vibe about him and his shots.
    He will tell you that he likes to catch emotions (like the first time the groom see's the bride that day........)

    My overall experience with Jason is nothing but fabulous in EVERY way.....
    he is a super nice.....really cool guy......
    but at the same time....VERY professional.
    The day of the wedding he was there from 3pm until midnight......got 750 shots......
    We opted on getting alot of shots before the wedding...as to not take us away from the cocktail hour....and that worked out great!
    Another thing we really liked about him....is that he was totally non-obtrusive during the whole wedding.......they were there taking all kinds of shots....but you never felt like you had to pose....or feel awkward (like I do when getting pics taken).

    He got the GREATEST shots....and we are absolutely in love with our photos!

    Another plus was his cost....which I promise you......is more than worth the money for the caliber of work he does.......
    We had talked to a few photographers....and the prices they were charging were SO EXPENSIVE....and their work didnt hold a candle to Jasons......

    Our wedding date was June 19, 2010......
    and our pictures were finished within a month....which is VERY fast compared to other stories I had heard from other couples weddings.
    He is really on it:)
    Once he finished the photos.....we got an email with a link for the download of the low-resolution photos (these are the proofs...good for using online...not for printing).....
    a link for his website with a password for the online gallery (also low resolution)
    and multiple disks with the high-resolution images.....for us to print out as we like.....
    and they are good for ANY size printing.

    So...needless to say........I would suggest you stick with him....
    you definitely will be happy with his work and how he captures the whole day.........

    Jason shot our December 27th wedding, which is a hard time to ask someone with a family to do any type of work (since it is so close to the holidays), but Jason did not hesitate. He met with us to review everything beforehand and was available if we needed to ask him anything. Other phoographers give you time limits and stipulations, but Jason included everything in one price. He started at 12:30 and left around 11:00pm. He stayed until we wanted him to, and stayed until he felt he had all of the shots he needed. We barely knew he was there, but we know he did AMAZING work. He works with what you want but he knows what shots he wants to get that day. If you want to feel comfortable with your photographer, with whom you need to spend the WHOLE day with, Jason is your guy. Take a look at his website and I guarantee you will fall in love with his work. His work is 5 star quality!

    Jason is so fantastic at what he does I don't think I can express it in words. I have been a fan of his other pictures, and was completely thrilled to find he was doing weddings! Because of his spectacular pictures and his friendly demeanor, my sister in law and cousin are both using him for their weddings this August!

    There's not a bad thing about this guy! He really has a gift for capturing the moment!

    My husband and I had a great experience with Jason both at our "engagement shoot" (basically a chance for us to get to know each other and figure out what we wanted for photos) and at our wedding day. We were looking for someone to take great candids and not get in the way of our guests at the ceremony and reception (that's happened at a few too many weddings where the photographers stands in front of everyone and blocks views). Jason is a great photographer and an easy-going and friendly guy, but he will be a documentarian (having done lots of photos of musicians in the past) of your day without your guests even noticing. We did have the obligatory family photos and such but I loved that we could all have a good time without feeling like the camera was in our faces- I didn't realize how many beautiful ceremony shots he got until we got the photos back! He also gives you all the digital shots in low and high res which is perfect since we wanted to print our own material and not spend an arm and a leg on a photobook (which literally cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars). And we could post on Facebook etc. on our own. I would definitely recommend Jason for your big day!

    Jason was a wonderful wedding photographer. He is quiet and focused at first but will surprise you with his energy and humor. I have an autistic brother who was in the wedding party and Jason was patient and wonderful with him, as well as with the rest of the bridal party. He made the day seamless and the photos didn't take up the whole day, which is what I was always afraid of. As a bride I got to spend my day enjoying my wedding instead of worrying about photos. He also was incredibly flexible with us and didn't leave the wedding until he was sure he got all the perfect photos.
    Jason does take a little while to respond back but he is incredibly busy with his business so as long as there is an understanding of this I would definitely recommend this photographer.

    Jason was our photographer for our wedding a few weeks ago and our engagement pictures last year. What I love about his work is that he takes so many candid and subtle shots, that really capture the moment. He is extremely creative and still adheres to what the bride/groom request. He pulled me aside a few times at my wedding to get some shots that I had asked him to get prior to the wedding because I knew I would forget that day! I appreciated that very much. Jason is very easy to work with and always made us feel very comfortable. His assistant that he brought, Jeff, was awesome as well. He really made us laugh! I would recommend Jason to anyone!

    Jason Messer is a fantastic photographer, something you can tell by simply looking at his pictures, this is a major reason why my husband and I choose him for our wedding. We love our pictures.
    The problem is Mr. Messer is absolutely impossible to get in contact with once you book. We booked our engagement photos and the day of I was unsure if he was even going to show up because he never responded when I sent him the date and time. What was beyond annoying was once he was there (late), he continued to check his phone...so obviously he received my previous emails about this particular photo shoot.

    I was so annoyed I emailed Mr. Messer about breaking my contract for the wedding, because now at this point my best friend had the same experience with him as well as another friend of mine...here you go....

    It took me 2 years...yes 2 years to get my album from him. Countless emails were sent, I can't remember how many times I sent him the pictures I wanted in my album....I tried calling, emailing through his website, emailing through his business account...probably for every 7 or 8 attempts I would finally get a response. It was beyond unacceptable. I'm sure he will defend himself as he always had an excuse as to why this happened, but I really could of cared less. One email even explained to him how my father-in-law had passed and my mother was sick, and I needed her to see my album...well needless to say he never responded and she passed months before I got it. (My father-in-law and mother passed ONE YEAR after my wedding)...I was married, went on my honeymoon and had a one month old child before I received my album. DIsgraceful!

    If you want beautiful pictures, Mr. Messer is your man, unfortunately it is all downhill once the wedding is over. Good Luck with your albums.

    I hate to leave a bad review, I really do. Jason is such a nice person, he really is. His pricing is amazing and I love that we were able to have all of our photos. Jason always makes you feel comfortable and is just a cool guy...here's where the problems lie. Communication: Throw that out the window. After you book with him, he is so so so hard to get a hold of...almost impossible actually. I had problems with communication all the way until after my wedding. He will promise dates for your photos then drags his feet with his own dates. I am not impatient, but I don't like empty promises. I loved his portfolio and adored my engagement pics. However, my wedding pics are without question my biggest and only regret. My photos really did not turn out great. We have a few that are awesome, but that's it...just a few. As the bride on my big day, I was not thinking about how I need to take pics with mom, bridesmaids..that sort of thing...sadly neither was my photographer. I have 0 photos with my mother, 1 with my bridesmaids, 1 with my entire bridal party. He didn't properly line people up, some faces were covered. Just a mess. I am not the worlds pickiest person. I am pretty easy to please. However, with the talent that Jason has, it just wasn't there the day of my wedding. I would not refer anyone to Jason, I am so sorry to say that.

    Avoid! We hired Jason to photograph our wedding. We didn’t hear from him for three months after our event. We sent him multiple emails with no response. We attempted to leave him a voicemail, but his mailbox was full. During the event, we had to request a lot of shots which we thought would have been standard, but probably wouldn’t have been captured unless we asked. Family members asked for specific group photos, but Jason was impatient, insisting he had to get back to the dance floor to take pictures of people dancing during a five hour reception. He asked for his final payment minutes before our actual ceremony, which we felt was very unprofessional. Other than his extreme inability to run a business and lack of professionalism, his pictures were of acceptable quality.
