Exceptional!

We are still on such a high after a spectacular wedding experience with Jarrell Entertainment ! We truly can't express how perfect all the music was on Saturday. From the harpist setting such a moving tone for the ceremony, to the Dixons getting everyone excited for the reception, and then the entire set by DJ Inflyt and the Evolution band being so fresh and perfectly us — it was everything we dreamed of and more. We still don’t know how “i want to be your girlfriend” by girl in red was played at the absolute best moment right before the cake cutting -- it’s one of our favorites and the experience was so emblematic of how we felt like they understood our musical tastes so exceptionally well, the entire night! So many people came up to us afterwards and said that they usually never dance this much but that they didn't want to stop because this was the best wedding playlist they'd ever heard -- and we couldn't agree more!!

We are already counting down for future parties with Jarrell Entertainment. Highly highly recommend!

Best DJ & Entertainment EVER

We hired DJ MKL for our wedding, and we couldn't be happier with our choice! From the very beginning, they were professional, responsive, and genuinely SO excited to be part of our big day. The music was spot on—he did such an incredible job at reading the crowd perfectly and kept the dance floor packed ALL NIGHT LONG!!!! Guests of all ages were raving about the energy and how much fun they had.

MKL also helped with announcements and transitions throughout the evening, making everything flow seamlessly. It really felt like they were invested in making our wedding unforgettable, and they absolutely delivered. We couldn't have dreamed of a better experience, and look forward to our future events with DJ MKL and Jarrell Entertainment!

Evolution DJ Hybrid Band is the BEST!

I am so happy we choose the Evolution Hybrid DJ band for my daughter's wedding in Charleston on 11/03/24. Our DJ was Ray and our band had a vocalist, electric violin, electric guitar, saxophone, trumpet, percussion and drums. The guitar, sax and violin played some jazz during dinner which was beautiful and then after dinner we had the DJ and band playing and they were amazing! All the guests just couldn't stop complimenting us on our band choice! The dance floor was always full!
From the beginning of the planning until the end, Jarrell Entertainment was a breeze to work with. We had multiple meetings with Nancy, Elizabeth and Ray to make sure band knew what my daughter and son-in-law wanted to be played and how they wanted the evening to flow!
I would one hundred percent use Jarrell Entertainment again!

DJ MKL + team are great!

We recently hired DJ MKL with accompanying saxophone, trumpet and percussion for our wedding ceremony. They brought the party alive and kept it going throughout the night. DJ MKL + team were organized, talented, blended a wide range of music together seamlessly, and pleasant to work with throughout the process. Music Needs A-Z

We had Jarrell Entertainment provide music for our entire wedding: a string duo for the ceremony, a pianist for cocktail hour, and DJ MKL along with three instrumentalists for the reception. Not only was it a pleasure working with them before the wedding - they were extremely organized and always met our ideas and questions with a "yes" - but their talent really shined at our wedding. Never once did we have to check in on the music or vibe, they truly guided the energy of us and our guests all day long. Would definitely recommend!

Spectacular Band

Jarrell Entertainment did a fantastic job for our wedding. Extremely responsive and flexible. We had three pieces for the ceremony/cocktail hour (violin, cello, guitar) and a hybrid band, DJ, Singer for dancing after dinner. No one left the dance floor! The music was great. I recommend you create a playlist of the music you like to share ahead of time and also things you DO NOT want played.

Face Melting Wedding

DJ FLO melted faces at our wedding reception for over four hours. Guests that were happily married in attendance, considered divorcing their spouses at the end of the reception for a second opportunity at love with DJ FLO spinning. Ray, Kevin and Michael are true creatives. . .

Working with Jarrell Entertainment was important for so many different reasons. My husband and I wanted a entertainment company that really understood our goals and wasn't just going to play a set track. As soon as I heard MKL's mixes I knew he was our DJ. We hired MKL as our DJ and also included a violinist, saxophonist, and guitarist. We also used Jarrell for our uplighting.

Ray, Kevin and Michael are true creatives. They are artists through and through. From the music, to lighting, sound checks and more Jarrell Entertainment looked at our event as a creative expression of our wedding and not just a wedding. Kevin orchestrated our event to be spectacular. He made sure the lighting was set to the music, the tone of the event had good vibes and that everyone hit their mark the day of. Kevin worked tirelessly with our venue to make sure that the sound of the event would be correct. I expected a DJ company to bring some speakers and call it a day. That is not at all what you get with Jarrell Entertainment. Kevin and his team brought in several speakers for around the room. They did a proper soundcheck before the event and planned ahead and added additional speakers where needed. They setup proper sound in every area that guests would be including the cocktail space, reception area and the outdoor terrace. Each area had a carefully planned sound system with multiple points for the music to play, not just one large speaker at the front. Kevin also worked with our florist, Ruth Ridgeway, to make sure the lighting captured our florals and made the most out of the room.

Michael (MKL), our DJ, was a pleasure to work with. We first spoke with him before booking and knew right after he was the one. Almost 2 years later and after postponing due to COIVD he pulled off an amazing event and created the best mixes. With Jarrell you aren't getting a DJ that you meet the day of. Kevin and Ray (the owner) were always available for us and spent countless hours going over ever detail. They both took the time and energy to run through multiple ways our event could be done being that COVID regulations were constantly changing. I can't thank them enough for being there for my husband and I during that time and for centering us when we had so many "what if" questions. Thank you MKL for being absolutely wonderful, Kevin for pulling off a complicated event in a seamless way, and Ray for always being there!

Can't recommend enough!

We had DJ Michael, a trio of musicians, and the photo booth through Jarrell at our wedding in Montauk and we couldn't have been happier! They were all fantastic and added so much to our wedding experience. The company was super organized and responsive ahead of time as well - made planning fun and not stressful at all. Would highly recommend using them!!

Amazing Experience

Could not have asked for anytihng more

I had a four piece band at my wedding and the ceremony and reception were absolutely perfect. They took care of everything and were very easy to plan with and flexible. Hopefully I won't be having another wedding but if I ever need to hire anyone for music it will 100% be Jarrell Entertainment.

Best DJ/Live Musician Combo Ever

My husband and I loved working with Jarrell Entertainment. We hired them as the DJ for our recent wedding and ended up adding an electric violin, saxophone and percussionist. They made the planning process incredibly easy, providing us with playlists and consulting on the vibe we wanted for our wedding. Each segment of the event, from the ceremony to cocktails to dinner to dancing was perfect and they incorporated the live instruments beautifully. They were also very accommodating when it came to complying with covid restrictions. I would highly recommend them and would definitely work with them again in the future.

We loved working with Jarrell. Kevin and Raymond were extremely professional and responsive. They patiently answered our million questions leading up to the wedding and took our many changes in direction in stride. On the day of, the band was excellent and every single one of our guests mentioned how much enjoyment they got from listening. They even learned a Springsteen song for our walk down the aisle – which made the day feel even more personal (and frankly, they did a great job even though you wouldn’t think the song would translate well into a jazz quartet rendition 😊). Persian-American DJ perfection

Best Wedding DJ!

For our September wedding we worked with DJ MLK. He did an incredible job! He knew the exact vibe I was going for and we are still getting compliments about how great the music was at the wedding. He responded to all my last minute additions for music and helped adjust the timeline for the wedding so that everything would run better. He went with the flow when things changed without me even having to tell him. Overall we had a great experience and I would recommend him to anyone!

DJ MLK - best wedding DJ!

For our June 2019 wedding worked with MLK to come up with the best mix of today's music, traditional Italian wedding songs and classic oldies. The dance floor was packed the entire night and guests continue to comment on how great the music was at our wedding. This was thanks to MLK's enthusiasm to understand exactly what we were looking for and his professionalism, creativity and expertise were the factors that made it all work. Working with MLK was a breeze - we met once in person and spoke on the phone a few times. We also exchanged emails where he was always responsive and efficient in replying. I would highly suggest hiring MLK for your wedding - he is a true and talented artist!

We hired DJ Flo for our wedding. He was the BEST. He was super responsive, easy to work with, and can read the crowd to keep everyone on their feet. Jarrell has a large list of DJs and we chose MKL after listening to his mixes which are on the Jarrell website. Everyone in the office was great to work with, and MKL was very helpful with getting us started on the timeline for the evening. The team at Jarrell Entertainement were great, Uma was so helpful. DJ Flo was awesome, such a character. The moment we heard his mixes we knew he was the DJ for us. He is really skilled, not to mention just totally got our music vibe. My husband and I have very different music tastes and he was able to marry our choices perfectly and keep the guests dancing throughout the night. I cannot speak highly enough about Jarrell Entertainment... they were wonderful to work with and made the entire process seamless for us. From our original contact with them going over preliminary plans, to when we got into more specific details, choosing a DJ and a live music trio, picking music, going over last-minute details... everything was handled with the utmost professionalism and not one detail slipped through the cracks. Lastly, we had some very last-minute changes that were out of our control, and they could not have been more accommodating and understanding. Ray & Uma (whom we dealt with for all of the organizing) were incredible, and DJ FLO brought the house down at the wedding. We highly recommend working with this wonderful organization.

DJ Flo spun at my April Wedding at Guastavino's and he KILLED IT. The night was AMAZING, mostly due to Flo's talents. We got a massive dance floor and it was completely packed until the party ended at 1 am. Even then, the venue had trouble kicking people out because our guests were so hyped up. All of our guests were asking us how we found the DJ and telling us that every song was better than the next. He was spot on. We could not be happier and it's clear that our guests felt the same. 2 weeks later we are still getting DJ compliments, everyone wants a piece of Flo!!

Throughout the whole planning process, Ray and Uma were helpful and attentive and such a calming presence in bringing our dream party to life. THANK YOU for making our night such a success.

DJ MKL was INCREDIBLE! Our guests were raving about the music all night and saying it was the best wedding dance party they have ever been to. My husband and I did not leave the dance floor once! DJ MKL did an amazing job of playing the right songs at the right moments - timing them perfectly during dinner/speeches and throughout the night. He managed to play everything we wanted to hear, songs our parents had requested and songs we didn't even know we wanted and the playlist flowed together seamlessly. He is truly talented. From the very first phone call I had with him I knew we were in great hands and that we could trust him to make our party a memorable one. Jarrell Entertainment provided excellent service throughout the entire process and both Uma and Ray were professional and super responsive. We booked a jazz trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour, a black & white dance floor to enhance our NYC reception space, and of course DJ MKL - they were all perfection!!!

You can't go wrong with Jarrell Entertainment. A friend of mine, who is a weddings editor, recommended the company to me as the best in the business, and she was SO right. From my initial conversation with the company's lovely coordinator, Uma, to the execution on our big day, they handled everything with kind, accommodating professionalism. We hired both our DJ for the reception, and our string trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour, through Jarrell. Our trio went above and beyond, rearranging my father's favorite (and too-long) Bach cello suite so that it would work for my processional, and adding two very specific songs to their repertoire (the Cantina Song from Star Wars, and the theme from the Legend of Zelda) as a surprise for my admittedly kind-of-geeky husband (he loved it!).

Joel, our DJ, was equally as incredible. During our initial conversation, he and my English husband-to-be bonded over their love and knowledge of British rock, and he made sure to include lots of it in his set to keep our UK guest contingent on the floor. He so understood our very specific taste in music, that he managed to completely surprise me (although I don't think he knew it), but landing on one of my all-time favorite songs by a kind of obscure 90's band for our cake-cutting, even though the only instructions we had given him for that moment were "I didn't know people picked music for this! Just play whatever you think will work." All of our guests have told us that our wedding has been the most fun, and that's all due to Joel. Even our florist, who had arrived to break down as our final song had just started, said the moment nearly had her in tears. We can't recommend Jarrell Entertainment and Joel enough!

DJ Matty is the best! He was so much fun to work with and got everyone up and dancing! He was open to any ideas we had and really just wanted our day to be fun. All during the receptions people were coming up to us and saying how awesome the music was, how much fun they were having, and how they wanted the playlist! I also love that the company will work with you to find the right DJ for your budget and taste in music. Overall just a great company, highly professional, extremely prompt/helpful, and the best choice for our wedding. Definitely would recommend Jarrell Entertainment and DJ Matty in particular!

Jarrell Entertainment was amazing from the beginning. They really helped us shape our perfect wedding reception and paid notice to each and every detail I was looking for. From suggesting the perfect DJ in their team to constantly collaborating and reviewing our songs, we couldn't have asked for better service. DJ MKL is amazing and so talented. There was not a quiet moment on the dance floor and he even (secretly) worked with my maid of honors to help them deliver their "musical speech"!! Our wedding reception went perfect and that was all thanks to DJ MKL and Jarrell Entertainment for giving us the best music and more than I could have asked for!

We hired Jarrell Entertainment with Matty as our DJ for our wedding on Aug 13 2106.
Matty was fantastic. We met in person prior to the wedding and went over our playlist. Matty listened and gave great suggestions, and helped us round out the music choices.

On the night of the wedding Matty was great, he did exactly as we asked him to do: he played all our requests, filled in where we needed filling and played at the volume we wanted. He took requests from our guests on songs as well.

I highly recommend Matty. He is professional, cool, knows music inside and out and listens to what you want for your party. What more could you ask for.

Jarrell Entertainment is EXCELLENT. Uma Incrocci, the coordinator, is so easy to work with and super responsive. She helped us to pick the right DJ from JE's lineup for our desired wedding atmosphere. We had DJ Nick spin for us at our reception. He was the best. He was readily available to talk and email with me before the wedding about song requests, playlists, and timing. He was very easy going and understood everything that we wanted for our reception. We felt so confident that the night was going to go well. On the night of we were blown away. Every guest at our wedding wanted to know where we found our incredible DJ. We ended up dancing through the whole reception - something we didn't plan for, but we couldn't stay off the dance floor! If you want to have the most fun dancing at your wedding with no worries and guaranteed professionalism, choose Jarrell Entertainment.

Our DJ was amazing! We talked to Jarrell and then had several DJs to read about; we picked one and met him for an interview. Uma at Jarrell was super responsive and easy to work with - we had another phone call with our DJ before the big day. DJ Flo was PERFECT! The morning after our wedding, EVERYONE was telling us that it was the best wedding reception ever. There was never a line more than a few people deep at our bar (and our friends like the bar!) because everyone was too busy having a blast dancing. We could not have asked for better music and a better DJ to get the party going. Thanks to Jarrell Entertainment for setting it up! Also priced amazingly well for the NYC area

DJ Matty was AMAZING. He came highly recommended and when we met him prior to our wedding he instantly grasped the kind of music/party we were trying to create. My groom and I have very specific taste in music so we wanted to make sure to communicate our preferences, and within five minutes of meeting Matty, we knew our wedding was in good hands. We had the utmost trust in him right from that first meeting, and he went above and beyond to deliver on those expectations. We had DJ Matty at our wedding this past weekend and were beyond impressed. Matty was the ultimate professional while seemingly knowing exactly what we wanted played, in what order, and was able to perfectly read the pulse of the crowd. My husband and I were completely pleased to have DJ Ray at our wedding!! He met with us a few weeks before the event to review our song choices and get to know us a bit, and from that point on we knew that was the right choice. He played music during our sit down dinner reception and during the dancing portion and nailed it. It was the perfect mix of old and new and kept the crowd buzzing the whole night. Ray Jarrell was amazing!! We had mixed needs for our wedding including all the best dance songs, Armenian and Arabic music, and even some requests for Scottish bands -- he hit it all and did not miss a transition! The dance floor was partying the whole night and the experience was totally personalized to our day. No cheezy wedding music. In addition, Ray was super easy to work with and quickly read our style so that on the day we felt totally at ease. We cannot thank Ray enough for such a great party!

Seriously, look no farther. Working with Ray and Jarrell Entertainment was a dream and we cannot recommend them enough!

My husband and I fell in love with our venue and were bummed to hear that we could not have a band due to size/sound restrictions, so it was extremely important to us that we had an incredible DJ. Ray exceeded all of our expectations!

Ray has an online planner that you fill out to give him an idea of what you are going for, but he also agreed to meet with us in person one weekend to discuss our vision for the night. He truly delivered – dinner had a swanky, 1920’s vibe that we were going for and the dance floor was packed during the reception. He perfectly mixed oldies (including the electric slide, a requirement from my dad!) and new songs - people are still talking about how amazing the music was.

We also worked with Jarrell Entertainment’s live jazz trio, who played during our ceremony and cocktail hour. Bryan and his guys were also incredible, customizing the entire set. Live music made the beginning of our night that much more memorable.

My wife and I engaged Jarrell Entertainment for our wedding, and sincerely could not have been happier with the result. Administratively, they were incredibly professional, responsive and organized from the start. (Alas, unfortunately not the case with every wedding vendor with whom we dealt ... !) DJ Ray did a stellar job at the wedding -- he adapted the music seamlessly for the different segments of our reception, and our guests universally (from my 92-year-old grandmother to my 5-year-old niece ... and many, many 20- and 30-somethings in between!) raved about him. Prior the the wedding, Ray had talked us through a few logistical and timing aspects of the reception (specifically, the cake-cutting, the groom's speech and the first dance) that we were debating, and his recommendations worked out very well. Moreover, he managed to capture the mood of the party throughout the night, and controlled the pace of the evening wonderfully. My wife and I were delighted.

Jarrell Entertainment also recommended a musical trio for our cocktail hour, and they played jazz, rock and classical numbers. Also fantastic. All in all, highest recommendations.

From start to finish Jarrell Entertainment was organized, friendly, and reliable. Uma answered all my questions when I emailed her. We met with DJ Matty a few weeks before our wedding and he understood exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. We definitely felt like we were in good hands.

In the beginning I had my heart set on a band, but the prices were outrages. So we wanted to come up with something that was the best of both worlds. To say that it rained on the day of our wedding is an understatement. It poured, was cold, and windy. However, we were all toasty, warm on the dance floor with great music. We had a soloist at the ceremony, who did a great job despite the whipping rain and wind. We then moved under a pavilion for the cocktail hour we had the jazz trio entertain us. They got rave reviews from our guests. Finally, DJ Matty helped us party the night away. The weather through us some curve balls that day and we needed to change a lot of things...I didn't even need to worry about the music...I knew it was taken care of. Bravo to Jarrell Entertainment, we appreciate your professionalism and great musicians!

I booked Jarrell Entertainment for my wedding this past June. The coordination with Uma was seamless and I really enjoyed being able to meet with the DJ's to get to know them and make sure they were the right fit. Uma recommended DJ Matty and my fiance and I immediately said he was the one! After filling out a comprehensive music list DJ Matty worked closely with us to make sure the music and timing was what we wanted. Also, he edited our very long wedding song so that we could dance to all the good parts for our first dance. Also, we added a percussionist who was also great and brought the extra energy to our wedding. Overall, I would highly recommend Jarrell Entertainment to book any events that you want to go smoothly.
My guests complimented the music DJ Matty played, the energy level and my husband and I really enjoyed working with him.

After contacting Jarrell Entertainment, we initially met with Ray Jarrell who was very charming and personable and took the time to get to know us and our music tastes and then suggested that DJ Matty might be a good fit for our wedding day. He wasn't wrong. DJ Matty was such a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was just a really nice guy who got to know our musical preferences, what we were trying to achieve for the party and what our guests were like. We submitted an extremely lengthy response to the web-based questionnaire because we have such diverse music tastes as a couple and somehow he managed to distill all that into a very coherent and enjoyable experience both during dinner (from the acoustic version of Everlong by the Foo Fighters to Mr. Moustafa from Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel...) and during the party (from 70/80s disco to modern day pop). Highly recommend DJ Matty and the Jarrell Entertainment team for any event!

Ray and the Jarrell crew were awesome from beginning to end. From the start Ray and his team were very easy and professional to deal with, coming highly recommended from the venue and our caterer. On the evening Ray killed it, reading the crowd perfectly and had the whole place up and partying for the entire night. Great mixture of music for all the guests and if something wasn't working as well, seamlessly moved on to something else which kept the party going (never had a down moment). Nearly all the guests after the evening commented he was the best DJ they'd seen at a wedding and were gutted it had to end. Ray was also very good playing before the ceremony and perfectly got our mood / style for the whole wedding. Great bloke also.

DJ Joel was absolutely fantastic. We really wanted everyone to be on the dance floor for our entire reception and Joel made it happen. Joel went out of his way to meet us for drinks a few weeks before our wedding to get to know us and talk through our reception. Joel is incredibly friendly and someone we instantly trusted to make our wedding perfect. Joel was able to keep all of our guests on the dance floor the entire night. Our wedding was the best day of our lives and Joel was a big part in making that happen.

Ray Jarrell was hands down our best discovery during our wedding planning adventures. My husband and I were told he was the best of the best by our venue and our caterer. We called him up, had a great conversation and boom... we didn't look any further. Ray was outstanding. A month later and I still have guests asking where I found my DJ and if he has any local events that they could go to. Not only was he SO easy to work with and made all my fav songs happen, Ray was spot on with our crowd and had even my mom up and dancing. We had a fantastic experience with Jarrell Entertainment. They were incredibly helpful and professional in our communication prior to meeting the DJ. Our point person at the main office always responded to emails in a timely manner and was happy to answer any questions we had.

My now-husband met with DJ Stephen and the two clicked immediately. Stephen was incredibly flexible and willing to work with us; he even offered to bring his personal vinyl collection to the reception!

Prior to the wedding, we filled out a music list on their website. The music list was very extensive and covered a wide array of genres to make everybody happy.

On the wedding day, Stephen was professional, fun, and laid back. He read the crowd really well and had everyone on the dance floor between dinner courses. The floor was PACKED and everyone was having such a fun time that we asked Stephen to stay an additional hour, which he was more than happy to do. When he mixed Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" with Outkast's "Hey Ya" (Shake it like a Polaroid picture!) I just about swooned with happiness.

Needless to say, Stephen and Jarrell Entertainment helped make our wedding a blast for ourselves and our guests. An engaged friend asked me for Stephen's information the next day because she liked the music so much--highly recommended!

DJ Matty from Jarrell Entertainment was the first wedding vendor (aside from venue) that we'd met with, the first and only DJ we met/spoke with, and the very first vendor we ever booked for our wedding. We booked him over a year in advance (thinking that we might be crazy for jumping on this so early) and we never looked back.

We clicked with Matty from Day 1 on song selections, party vibe, and personality, and felt really confident that he'd not only make a great playlist but also be on top of all DJ "extras" like being aware of timing, prompting speeches, etc. Not to mention, my husband is a professional musician and has super high standards!

The staff at Jarrell is very responsive and prompt with communications, flexible on accommodating changes, and professionals all around. A month or so out from the wedding we met with Matty again to go over our massive song list, and go through the timing of the whole event in minute detail. It is really, really comforting to a bride and groom when the vendors they talk to REALLY have a great handle on things and can advise based on personal experience and the many gigs they've played. Thanks to Matty for putting us at ease before the wedding, and keeping the party going on the day of.

Working with Jarrell Entertainment (DJ Ray and Uma) was one of the easiest elements of our wedding planning. Every aspect of the DJ process was smooth and customized to our tastes and our needs.

My wife and I knew the kind of music we wanted to be played at our wedding. We filled out the Jarrell Entertainment music manager form and discovered that a lot, but not all, of the music we envisioned was on the list. In our final meeting with Ray, two days before the wedding, we mentioned that we had created a list of music that we thought would be nice to be played during the different parts of the wedding. Some of these songs were songs that we loved and didn't think would be good to dance to. Ray asked that we send him our list so he could get a better sense of our wedding theme and we did that night. On the night of our wedding, we were thrilled to find out that every song on our list had made it into Ray’s playlist (It was such a good playlist that many of our guests requested we send it to them - Ray happily provided it to us).

The moment that most stands out in working Ray was our discussion over the first dance. We are not the kind of people who like to be the center of attention for too long. We selected a song for our first dance and realized it was close to 5 minutes long … too long for us to dance alone in the middle of a room. We mentioned this to Ray during our final meeting and he told us he would be looking at us the whole time and when he got the signal he would invite everyone else up to dance with us. After about a minute and a half, I looked over at Ray who was watching us intently, nodded at him and within moments the dance floor was filled with our guests sharing our dance with us. We are still receiving compliments from our guests as having the “best wedding/party ever."

Our wedding location had Jarrell listed as one of their preferred vendors for wedding music entertainment, and they definitely come highly recommended from me as well. Uma was very helpful in getting us set up with a great DJ, and both she and DJ Stephen were extremely helpful (and patient, given all the questions I had) about getting the music set up just right. Even though we only had one in-person meeting and one phone call before the wedding, everything went off smoothly and without a hitch. While we provided a LOT of music (Jarrell's online planner has a very extensive selection as well), Stephen used it as a good base to jump off and craft a setlist around our choices that brought something different, along with showcasing his great talents.

Compared to the prices I was seeing for a live band, the value is definitely better, and I have zero regrets about going with a DJ for the reception - and zero hesitation in recommending them to anyone else for their special day!

My husband and I got married on August 30, 2014 at the Garrison. When we were looking for vendors, music was a huge huge priority on our list.

When we finally found Jarell entertainment--we were immediately impressed. Uma is amazing. She is SO RESPONSIVE, so sweet, and all around awesome at her job. Thank you for always responding to our questions and concerns Uma--it was so greatly appreciated.

When we first met with DJ Matty--he was early, and met us up by our apartment for coffee. I was at comfortable with him from the start, and really appreciated that he had just gotten married himself, and really understood how important this was to me. He answered every question I had and continued to do so throughout the whole process.

Before our wedding we had a second meeting with him, and he was prepared with all the right questions, and even had suggestions for songs to dance with my brother to and so on when I was stumped.

He ended up doing an amazing job at the wedding and listened to every single one of my requests--not one song that i had asked for during our meeting was left out that night. My husband and I had a BLAST, and more importantly so did our guests. Many commented in the weeks after the wedding on how great our DJ was, and how he got everyone on the dance floor--both young and old.

In addition we had a trio play during our ceremony and cocktail hour. They were also awesome! they sounded so lovely during the ceremony and even learned a song that we requested during the processional--i sill remember hearing it and what a happy moment it was.

I loved everyone I worked with here, and if I could do it all over again I would choose DJ Matty and request that all of my vendors have someone as great and responsive as Uma in charge..

Greatest experience with Jarrell Entertainment. They were so professional and the wedding nite couldn't have gone any better!! The music was flawless, fun and we couldn't get the guests off the dance floor!

My wife and I got married on August 1st. After much searching we found Jarrell Entertainment. Their coordinator Uma was very professional and was very quick to respond to any concerns. After talking to a few of their DJs we decided on DJ Matty. Matty could not have been a better DJ. He was early to every pre-wedding meeting, taking notes and going over all of our likes and dislikes. On the day of the wedding he was extremely prompt. The night flowed perfectly. Matty played all of our favorite tunes and keep our guests on their feet all night long. We never had to be concerned with any of the music. If your looking for a professional company at affordable prices, my wife and I highly recommend Jarrell Entertainment and DJ Matty.

The dance floor was never empty.

I asked DJ Stephen to keep butts out of seats and he delivered. It couldn't have been better.

Some older relatives were skeptical about the DJ thing...because you're 'supposed' to have a band for weddings. We wanted more versatility than that. Stephen played an amazing range of music that a band just wouldn't have been able to cover - older songs, newer, fast, slow etc. By the end of the night the skeptics were believers. Even my grandmother loved the DJ.

Not only was the selection amazing, but Stephen timed the play list amazingly well. He picked things up between courses, slowed it down at the right times, and really pumped it up after dinner. The flow was perfect and he managed to include all of our favorite songs.

DJ aside, the company on the whole is really easy to work with. Uma is super responsive and made sure to keep us in the loop through the year-long planning process. They are true professionals and were also very accommodating of some last minute changes.

Would choose them all over again...and hope our friends do so we can experience the awesomeness again.

I can't say enough good things about having Ray as our DJ. We are a NYC couple who got married June 28 in Pittsburgh PA. Of course we ( well my husband) was hesitant to book a DJ that we had to fly in and of course there was a "slight" price difference from the local DJ's, but I talked him into meeting Ray after he had been recommend by someone who's opinion I trusted. Done, Done and Done, he and my guy talked for about 45 min before I joined and I knew when I walked up that we had found our guy. He just "got" him and us as a couple and what we wanted to convey musically at our reception..which was dance, dance, dance and of course that is what we got, the party did not stop. My planner said he had never seen so much non stop dancing. He helped with our rehearsal, cocktail, and ceremony music as well. ALL perfect. I felt like we made a friend for life, and can't wait to think of a reason to work with him again. Music makes the party, this isn't the place to save...Lucky you if you Ray is available. Oh, and Uma, the business side of it all, makes those details go smoothly. Big thanks to both Ray and Uma.

I don't dance. Ever. From the first time I heard DJ Matty (at the NY Magazine Bridal Show), I just wanted to dance. Ray was also at the bridal show, and was a pleasure to speak with as well. Once we were looking into getting a contract drawn up and signed, we were working with Uma, who is also fantastic! Having helpful people in the wedding planning process is so nice and refreshing - not only were they there to make sure that our day would be as special as we were hoping, but they did it with a smile and so much excitement for us that you can tell they truly love what they do. DJ Matty brought us so much joy on our wedding day, and I have no idea what we would've done without him there. I was on the dance floor the ENTIRE night! I didn't even eat my dinner! I think DJ Matty thought I was lying about the fact that I do NOT dance, but my husband can definitely vouch for that fact (as can my bad dancing on the video I'm sure!).
I'm still not even sure how he does it, but I absolutely loved every song he played, and how he mixed them.
Overall from the absolute beginning all the way through to the end, and even after the wedding, the whole company has been fantastic to deal with and just such a pleasure. They really do love weddings, and it completely shows. Uma was also a huge help when we were trying to find a photo booth, and she also helped us when we thought about getting a percussionist to accompany the dj. The percussionist didn't make the final budget cut, but I'm sure he/she would've been fantastic as well.

We were thrilled with Jarrell Entertainment and DJ MKL! We told them our vision for our entertainment and they did an amazing job! It was important to us that we have everyone out on the dance floor, but wanted to avoid any of the cheesiness that we have seen with some DJs. They listened to what we wanted, and they delivered. So many of our guests said that they thought our DJ was terrific. DJ MKL kept the party going during our entire reception. Jarrell Entertainment was also very easy to work with. We were able to fill out a form that indicated our likes and dislikes. Then we met with DJ MKL to go over it. Originally we were going to get a band for our wedding, but our caterer said that since it seemed like what we wanted was a dance party, maybe we should consider a DJ. We are so glad that we had DJ MKL for our wedding. We would recommend Jarrell Entertainment and DJ MKL to anyone!

We had Matty from Jarrell Entertainment and he was so great. He was so amazing about meeting with me before the big day to really get an understanding of what we wanted. We had a great mix of different kinds of music which Matty put together so perfectly. Everyone had such an amazing time dancing the whole night!

We had DJ Stephen at our wedding. The music was amazing - everyone kept commenting that it was so much fun and that the music was great - and the dance floor was always full. Stephen and Uma were so helpful during the planning process and really put us at ease with how organized and responsive they were. Highly recommended!

Jarrell Entertainment is the BEST! I met them at the New York Weddings Event in March 2013, one year before our wedding. They are super talented, professional, flexible and fun. I highly recommend Ray and his team. I originally spoke with Ray who is super sweet, accommodating, and just a cool guy. He then put me in touch with Uma who is awesome! What a gem. She handles all the booking logistics.

DJ MKL (Michael) was absolutely perfect for our wedding. Not only is he a great DJ with style, but he's such a lovely person. We knew we wanted to hire him immediately after our first meeting. He listened to what we wanted and rocked it at our wedding! He can totally read a crowd!! Our friends and family are still talking about how great DJ MKL was and how much fun they had dancing. Everything ran smoothly and I cannot say enough great things about MKL. We miss him already and cannot wait to hire him again for a future party. I give MKL and JE two thumbs up!!! Thank you for making our wedding a great celebration!

When I first started wedding planning, I was hesitant about using a DJ. I didn't want your typical wedding DJ and MC who is on the mic all night harassing your guests to get up and dance. Don't get me wrong, I love that at other weddings, but at my own, I wasn't interested...

A friend told me she attended a wedding where DJ Stephen from Jarrell Entertainment dj'ed and how incredible he was. The next say I reached out and we set up a meeting. Upon our first chat over coffee, I knew I was sold! Stephen was AMAZING!! So knowledgeable in the music space and understood exactly what I did and didn't want within 5 minutes of chatting. He basically told me, if I wanted him to chat it up all night he would, but if not, he'd let the music speak for itself.

We booked Jarrell Entertainment that same day, which was early on in our planning process. Over the next year, I'd email Uma and Dj Stephen probably 3 times a week (SORRY!) and they always got back to me immediately and NEVER seemed annoyed by my harassment.

The day of our wedding was by far the best day of our lives, and DJ Stephen played a huge part in making it as incredible as it was. He was early, scoped out the scene, talked to us about his plan for the night... AMAZING! I give him so so much credit because our music list was ALL OVER the place!! I had every genre of music incorporated into the list and he made it all work!!

My husband already told me he wants DJ Stephen back for his 40th bday (which I assume I need to start planning ;-))

Thank you to Jarrell Entertainment and especially DJ Stephen for bringing such amazing energy and music to our special day!

Ray kept everyone at our ceremony dancing the entire night - people seriously did not want to leave because the music was so good, and even though I was EXHAUSTED, I kept feeling compelled to get back up when he put on a new, great song. He listened to what we liked and wanted, and then actually made it better. His energy is upbeat and relaxed, he does not try to narrate or dominate the music he plays, and he got every single cue exactly right. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

The DJ for our big night was Stephen and he was absolutely amazing! We can't say enough about him and how great he was. Leading up to the wedding the staff at Jarrell Entertainment was great to work with and once we met with and decided on Stephen he was a pleasure to work with. It was very easy to set up meetings with him and all email correspondence was answered in a timely and professional manner. He played everything we wanted him to play and he kept everyone on the dancefloor on our wedding night. A bunch of our friends and relatives who never dance even got up to bust a move!

From beginning to end, working with Ray and Uma was a pleasure. They made it so easy and even fun. They captured exactly what we wanted for the event. They were always available to us. Couldn't have ben nicer. On the night of the event, Ray showed up in tux and looked every bit the part of the celebrity DJ. Don't even bother looking elsewhere. If you want a guaranteed good-time at your wedding, choose Ray Jarrell for your DJ. His knowledge of music is extensive. He is professional, creative, flexible, accommodating, responsive, warm and fun! He's the guy you want not only to create the perfect vibe at each moment, but the guy you want to have a beer with. From the moment we met Ray, he felt like an old friend I met at a live show years ago. He orchestrated every moment with perfection. His love for music is apparent and his ideas for how to step things up made our reception even more fun than we imagined as he brought in a percussionist that played alongside him and our guests loved it! It brought in a live element which was unique to any DJ I have seen. My favorite moment with Ray actually had little to do with his unmatchable talent but with his warmth and relaxing nature. When I walked into the ceremony room and everyone was standing up and looking at me walk to the aisle, my heart was pounding out of my chest. I was overwhelmed with the moment as all of the planning the months prior led up to that very moment when it was all going to begin and the most important moment of my life was about to happen. When I looked around the room, I saw the many familiar faces of our friends and family and then I saw Ray with a huge smile on his face and I smiled big right back. That moment put everything into perspective and I instantly became relaxed and ever so present as I walked down the aisle to the rest of my life.....Do it, choose Ray!

I can't speak highly enough of Jarrell Entertainment. Ray, Uma and DJ MKL went above and beyond to make everything seamless for the wedding. MKL was amazing - from planning the music for the event all the way through helping us set up sound for our rehearsal dinner and keeping everyone going all night at the wedding. Planning a wedding from overseas is no easy feat, but Jarrell Entertainment made it very easy for us. Aside from the expected awesomeness (everyone dancing the whole night and saying how much they loved the music selection), there were some key things Matty worked out such as our tricky timing of the processional music - lots of blends so that the music sounded seamless but was really 3 different parts of the same song (very well done), and since my husband and I didn't really have a first dance choreographed, he knew how long was enough :)

From the moment we met Ray, we loved him. He captures what it means to be a New Yorker-- he's cool, knows what he's doing, knows what makes a great party, is incredibly easy to talk to-- and after you're done discussing your wedding, you feel like he's someone you want to grab drinks with! DJ Stephen at Jarrell Entertainment could not have been more perfect. Not only is he an outstanding DJ he is also incredibly kind and lovely person to work with. His timing and ability to take our playlist suggestions and match the vibe of our wedding could not have been more spot on. We didn't want any MC-ing during the night so Stephen's ability to guide the night with subtle music changes was crucial. He was also responsible for guiding the speeches during dinner (making sure that my dad, brothers and wedding party had mics etc.) and did so seamlessly.
Stephen did such an amazing job and people were having so much fun that at the end of the evening several of my friends asked us for his contact info for their weddings. Everyone was out on the dance floor the entire time. My only regret is that we should have booked him to DJ way past midnight. I'm sure he could have kept our guests dancing until the sun came up.

We had DJ Matty as our DJ for our wedding and would not have gone with anyone else!!! From the first meeting with Matty we knew he would be our DJ- he was professional and knowledge yet soo incredibly personable and open to all of our requests. We knew from the start that we wanted a DJ who would play good music and play it well, not come in with flashing lights, yelling for our guests to get out of their seats. He said it best- he's a DJ that MCs (when needed) not an MC who DJs. Matty exceeded our expectations. Our dance floor was packed the entire night. I loved that he was discreet and kept us in the loop even as the night went on (special requests he was about to play, last song, etc.). Everyone at Jarrell was so responsive and accommodating whenever we needed to set up a meeting or make a payment. I really cannot say enough good words about Matty and Jarrell as a whole. I would 100% use Jarell Entertainment again and will absolutely recommend them to others!!

For entertainment this is your place! Great working with Uma, very helpful and understanding of your needs!! Everyone at our wedding LOVED the entertainers. From the Grapevine live statue greeting guests by the seating chart to the Live Beautiful Statue greeters for the cocktail hour to the amazing dancers with exotic costumes and a WONDERFUL DJ playing great music. Seriously, I never saw my friends and family dance for so long or as enthusiastically as they did at our wedding. Ray facilitated a natural, effortless transition from ceremony to PARTY—still impressed by his ability/instincts to read the mood, adjust on the fly, and accomodate the whole group's diverse musical tastes. Ray took our advanced input and filled in all the blanks effortlessly. Highest recommendation—I want to throw another party so Ray can come mix.

When my wife and I started to think about our wedding, the prospect of booking a DJ excited me than booking any other vendor. To me, a DJ can make or break a wedding. The one vendor that controls if everyone is out of their seat, having a great time or stuck in their seat, bored and waiting until it's time to go home.

Growing up and even recently, most of the weddings I went to had these DJ's that played corny music, came with a light show and would try to MC when there should be no need. I wanted no part of that and tried to find a DJ that got it, got our vision of the party that we wanted to throw and that we could connect with to make what we had in our heads a reality. I didn't think it was possible until I first spoke with Ray Jarrell.

I found Jarrell Entertainment on a harmless internet search and quickly called and got in touch with Ray. Within a few minutes, I knew he was our guy. Upon meeting him, it was clear he shared the passion of the music that we had wanted played at our wedding and was someone we could entirely trust with this and take a lot of stress away from us.

Through the months between booking Ray and our wedding, we met up a few times and emailed frequently with playlists, song ideas and just to see how we and he were doing.

During the day of, everything we conveyed with Ray on what we had wanted happened and it happened flawlessly. He continually played great music hour after hour and was gracious every time he had to address our guests. He helped make our wedding as great as it was.

I can't speak for other DJ's at Jarrell Entertainment but I can say Ray is not only a great DJ but a great guy as well. He cares about the music which comes through during your reception but he is also a great guy who genuinely cares about the couple who's wedding he is DJing. It was an honor to have Ray DJ our wedding, everyone deserves to have a vendor, no matter who, be as good as they are at their craft and as great of a person as he is.

I came across Jarrell Entertainment when attending a NYC wedding expo at the Metropolitan Pavilion in March 2012. They were the first DJs me and my fiance had walked over to (the music they were playing drew us over). We were immediately greeted by Matty (one of the DJs) and had a great time chatting with him and talking about the style and approach to what Jarrell Entertainment offers with their DJs. We walked away with a great impression of the company. We visited a few other DJs at the event but were underwhelmed and did not feel the same vibe that we had gotten when meeting with Matty.

I made an appt to speak with Ray Jarrell after the wedding expo. He was so nice, warm and informative. I immediately went online to further research Jarrell Entertainment and watched video clips of each of their DJs at which point we made appts to meet with a few of them.

We ended up choosing Matty and could not have been happier! Not only did he understand us as a couple and our vision for music that night, he provided us with great feedback and suggestions on how to make the night and ambiance even better. He was extremely easy and fun to work with - felt like we were working with an old friend the entire time.

Music was one of the most important elements for our wedding (as we wanted us and our guests to dance the night away) and Matty did not disappoint. Based on the songs and music genres we provided, he knew how to read the crowd and kept the energy up and us and our guests happy all night long. He even approached me a few times to see if there was anything I had wanted him to play or just to simply check in. My guests (of all ages) could not stop talking about how much they loved the music. We loved Matty!!!

The team at Jarrell Entertainment were on top of everything from the moment I reached out to them and I always felt like I was in great and highly capable hands. I loved working with Jarrell Entertainment and would HIGHLY recommend them!
