Wonderful!
Jane was so wonderful! From start to finish over 2 years of covid caused rescheduling and replanning and rsvp fluctuations. I'm also gluten free so to be able to have not just a few but a ton of flavor options was so wonderful. The set up was absolutely gorgeous!Jane's Cakes and Confections's reply:

Great Experience!
We got married in October 2020 and in true COVID fashion, our plans changed multiple times. Jane was wonderful to work with throughout this process and helped to accommodate these changes as we went from a large 250 person wedding to 40 people. She even made cookies for my shower! The cake looked beautiful and tasted great. I highly recommend using Jane for any cake needs you have! -

Delicious & Beautiful
Jane did a fantastic job with our wedding cakes! We decided we wanted to do round cakes at each table for guests to share (pre-Covid) instead of floral arrangements. Jane got so excited with the idea and helped us take our idea up a notch! She did 8 different flavors of cake which got the guests so excited and mingling with other guests to share their flavors! It is still a talking point a year and a half later when any stories get brought up about our wedding!-

Amazing experience!
Jane’s cakes and confections did an amazing job with our wedding cake. We originally had a difficult time trying to find a bakery that makes cakes without any dairy due to my husband being lactose intolerant. When we met with Jane she assured us she did not use dairy in her cakes and frosting. We couldn’t believe how great the cake tasted. It was such a hit at our wedding that we didn’t have any to take home. Jane worked with us so well during the planning especially when we had to downsize our cake due to the fact that not as many people were going to be in attendance because of covid. -

Great Experience!
We had cupcakes and a small cake to cut. Jane did a great job delivering exactly what we asked for! I loved how much of a variety we were able to have with the different cake and filling flavors, though we did have more leftover than anticipated. Jane made it very easy for us, and I would use her again.

Our experience with Jane was very pleasant. We met with her for a desert table tasting and to decide what we wanted at our wedding, and all of the deserts we tried were absolutely delicious. She has a huge variety of cakes and deserts that she can supply, but we never felt overwhelmed with the options because she had great recommendations based on her past experience and what we told he about our dream wedding. We ultimately went with the desert table, which she decorated beautifully, and though it was above our budget, it was worth every penny. We got numerous comments on our desert selection with everyone enjoying the variety and quality of the deserts, and there was more than enough for everyone. Jane was also very flexible, allowing us to change the deserts and number of guests right up to the week of the wedding. Jane was a pleasure to work with. Communication with her was very easy and our cake turned out so beautiful! The flavors all were delicious as well and our guests loved them. She even let us borrow a crystal cake stand, most places would charge got extra for something like that! Created our favors as well - adorable pretzel rods decorated to look like a bride and groom. She even incorporated our colors into the details. -

My cake was perfect! My wedding cake looked better than the picture I provided. My cake was so beautiful we forgot the candles and decorations that was supposed to go around it, and it didn't matter.I trusted Jane and her experience with cakes. It definitely payed off. Her pricing was very affordable. We also had a dessert table she did as well. Everything was delicious! Jane is very easy to work. After going to about six other bakeries. one word.. AMAZING!! I was going to go with a place that was going to charge a ridiculous amount for desserts for my wedding.. and set up was not included. BUT then I found Janes Cakes and Confections on Facebook.. Her dessert bar for my wedding was over the top and tasted absolutely amazing!! Everyone was RAVING about the display of the desserts and the taste. Her price for the dessert bar, delivery and set up beats ANYONE in northwest Ohio.-

I can't say enough great things about our wedding cake! Our first meeting with Jane was great. We realized how easy she was to work with and how detailed oriented she was, that we ended up cancelling our meetings with other vendors and booked her right then and there! Jane and her staff were great! I had this idea for a cake pop cake where cake pops formed the shape of a tiered cake. It was difficult finding someone with the capabilities to do this, then I found Jane. She kept in close contact with me about everything, and my cake turned out great! People loved the idea of eating cake on a stick. It was convenient for clean up purposes and for those who were on a slight diet because one stick still allowed them to be involved in the dessert! I recommend this company to any bride who wants the PERFECT cake or just to watch her vision for her cake become a reality -

If you are deciding between vendors to make your wedding cake, Jane’s Cakes and Confections is absolutely the way to go! We had nothing but amazing service and guidance during our wedding cake creation – from start to finish. The cake itself was designed exactly how I had asked her and the final result was more gorgeous than I could have ever expected. Of my entire wedding, the cake was by far one of my favorite parts. One of the most difficult parts of planning a wedding is getting vendors to listen to your ideas and Jane did nothing but accommodate every desire of mine. The cake was so intricate and BEAUTIFUL and Jane went through the trouble to hand-make (by herself) all the frosting flowers with perfection. The details, from the pearls to the piping, were so classy, romantic, and gorgeous. The flavors we chose were champagne, white raspberry delight, and chocolate. Can you say, “DELICIOUS?” To this day, people rave about how amazing our cake looked and tasted. It made my dream wedding come true. Jane was always quick to respond and happy to help with any request. We can’t wait to use her for future events! THANK YOU, JANE!!! -

I provided late notice and still got full service and a gorgeous very YUMMY cake. My favorite flavor was the White Raspberry delight! Jane was so incredibly helpful and patient. She helped design our wedding cake and the final product was even more beautiful than I ever imagined!! I couldn't have been happier with the outstanding service and presentation they did at our dessert bar. From the tasty cake pops to the delicious cookies everything was baked to perfection. Jane's cakes was an awesome choice for my wedding. This bakery made my wedding cake as well as 25 additional cakes for my wedding and they did an excellent job. The cakes tastes wonderful- we had 5 flavors for the table cakes and 3 flavors in ours with different flavored fillings. Our cake was different to construct, in that layers of cake were balanced on round balls, but Jane did a wonderful job constructing it. Very reasonable prices as well. The cakes were delivered on time and delicious, I would highly recommend this vendor. -

Jane was so professional and flexable and once we tasted samples of her cakes we were sold. We wanted something unique and different and she agreed to do it with no hesitation!!I showed her pictures of several wedding cakes one being a cake that was composed of 80 "mini cakes". To me it seemed like a very time consuming and difficult task but she assured me it could be done. When we walked into our reception and saw the cake we were amazed and delighted. It looked exactly like picture and it was fabulous. Our guests were excited to get a cake of their "own" to enjoy. We ordeded extras and many of our guests got to take one home. We chose chocolate and pink champagne as our flavors and we were very happy with the taste.Jane also put CAKE CHARMS/ RIBBONS on our cake which is a southern tradition, as I am from New Orleans. With the mini cakes this was another difficult taks but Jane did it!!! Again, we were thrilled with our beautiful delicious cakes and our guests were talking about how unique it was all night! Thanks Jane we will definitely recommend you to everyone we know and will probably order cakes from you in the future!!!!! -

Janes cakes & confections was highly recommended by friends of ours! As soon as we met with her and tried the cake we were sold! There are so many great flavors of cake it was hard to choose! We were so pleased with Jane's Cakes, we arrived for our cake tasting and there were 8 of us, and we hadn't told Jane there would be that many of us, she totally took it in stride, and had cake for all of us to taste! The cakes were delicious, and after deciding which flavor we wanted, she proceeded to designing the cake. My daughter had some ideas, but nothing concrete, Jane looked at the invitation and started drawing some ideas. Before we knew it, we had a beautiful cake designed. The finished product was beautiful and absolutely perfect, she also did a groom's cake as a suprise for my daughter's husband of a Dallas Police badge, which was amazing. Jane did an awesome job and we can't thank her enough. I would highly recommend her to anyone! -

Jane provided the wedding cake for my Jan 1, 2011 wedding. She was very professional and created the cake of my dreams. She was creative and able to match the cake design to my invitations. The red velvet and white cake tasted amazing! She also decorated the cake table, which was a huge bonus. We only wish we would have ordered more cake as it was gone so quick! Jane catered the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding. It was perfect. The food was delicious! Jane was able to accomodate a gluten-free menu for the evening which was fantastic. She made us the most beautiful (and delicious!) wedding cake, baked cupcakes for my bridal shower, catered our rehearsal dinner, and made a giant cupcake for the groom's mother, whose birthday was our wedding day. I am on a strict gluten-free diet and was afraid that I would not be able to have a wedding cake, until we found Jane. She used one of my own gluten-free recipes for our red velvet wedding cake and the cupcakes and rehearsal dinner meal were also gluten-free. I received numerous compliments on everything she prepared and no one knew it was all gluten-free. Everything was delicious! We highly recommend Jane's Cakes and Confections for any event. Jane is professional, highly attentive to detail, very responsive, so nice, and a joy to work with! -

A friend recommended Jane after using her for their wedding. My experience was just as wonderful. Jane herself is a delight - very professional and truly desires to to make your wedding perfect. She provided a unique, custom cake as well as adorable cookies that fit our theme. We also used her to cater the grazing tables with a huge assortment of hot and cold appetizers. Our guests were all amazed at the great taste and variety of the food. She and her team also decorated the facility (making it beautiful) and did an excellent job with the cleanup afterwards. I can only rate it a 5.0 / 5.0 but would give her a 10 if I could! Thank you, Jane! -

My cake was delicious and looked wonderful. My husband and I went for a taste testing and didn't want to try any more baker's, because her cakes were so good. She did a wonderful job and also decorated our table for us. all we had to do was tell her how we wanted it and it was done. She is very nice and will work with you on making your special cake. -

Jane is the best. She's patient, efficient, does exactly what she says she will, and reasonbly priced. Our daughters cake was a conglomeration of many ideas and she nailed it perfectly! we had 7 flavors/4 fillings.....all delicious. used mix of fondant and buttercream and some hexagon, round, square...............some thin layers, some deep............................in other words, whatever you want, she'll make it happen. her colors also came out matching just perfectly.
she's good about e-mailing/calling back to answer questions/messages........ that's important to when stressing about so many details.

Jane was wonderful to work with! We brought a picture of a cake we saw on The Cake Boss. It was perfect! We ordered french vanilla, white, marble, red velvet and spice. It was delicious! We had so many positive comments about the variety of flavors and presentation of the cake. Jane decorated the table, which was fantastic since we were five hours away from home. She provided exemplary service, was very easy to contact, quick to return emails or phone calls, and even added an extra cake a day before the wedding. Overall, the quality of service was excellent, taste very good, and presentation wonderful. She worked with the theme of the wedding and offered many suggestions that enhanced our original ideas. The price was better than other vendors and well worth it. You will not go wrong with her as your vendor. I recommend her very highly! -

It is so nice to find a vendor who can provide so many services and cut down on the running around for the bride. Jane did an amazing job on our wedding cake and not only did it look good but it tasted even better! Extremely well priced and worth every penny! My fiance' and I came in with a couple ideas and she combined all of them together and made a cake that had everything that we wanted! She incorporated the design from our wedding invitation onto our cake! We tasted a lot of cakes at bridal events and a lot of them left us feeling somewhat sick to our stomach's because they were extremely sweet and heavy and that's the last thing we wanted our 250 guests to feel! When we tasted Jane's it was an instant given that we were going with her because of the taste, selection of flavors and the quality of her work! She also made a really neat grooms cake that I surprised my husband with that had his favorite football team logo on it! My (now husband) and I highly recommend her! To this day he still talk about her spice cake! Any future events we may have we are definitely going with her! -

Jane is such a sweet lady! ( literally!) Shes very professional when we did our taste testing during the beginning process of our planning stages. She has books upon books of all the cakes shes made along with some models in her office. I brought her a picture of a cake that I saw on pinterest and she printed it out right there and we went through it together on little changes we wanted to make on it. She has an extensive list of flavors, fillings and frosting to choose from. From the ones that we tried were awesome! Shes very detail oriented, down to the cake stand and what the table will look like. I haven't received my cake yet because I don't get married until September but I am not the least bit worried about it! The other cool thing about Jane is she will make sure that on your anniversary, you call her up and say hey my name is so and so and you made our wedding cake. She will make you a FRESH anniversary cake, so no more frostbitten smashed year old cake! Highly recommended and decent price as well! She suggested to us to still do the traditional cake, but since I was having so many people, she suggested to do a few sheet cakes ( which she makes herself) to save a little cost. So shes honest too. Seriously, give her a buzz, shes pretty awesome. -

Jane's Cakes are amazing! She worked with us to create exactly the cake we were picturing. The cake was stunning and we received countless compliments on not only how it looked but the taste too! She has so many flavor options, and the 4 flavors we picked were so light and the whipped cream frosting - well, you just have to taste it! She also decorated the table with linens and lights under the linens, as well as candles around the cake - all included in the price. Very hard to beat in the Toledo area! -

PTSD via Funfetti Cake
I will forever have wedding cake PTSD because of the cake I received from Jane's for our August 2018 wedding.
Here's a recap of the problems:
1. The flavors were wrong. Imagine my surprise when I cut into my wedding cake to discover a funfetti cake. She was supposed to make champagne and white chocolate raspberry cake and instead I received funfetti and red velvet. The look on my face was captured in a picture, and it was disgust. Funfetti cakes are for children's birthdays, not weddings. Jane admitted that she had someone else bake my cakes because she was preoccupied with her personal affairs. The paperwork listed champagne and white chocolate raspberry.
2. The taste was awful. I did not receive homemade cakes. I received cakes made with boxed cake mix.
3. The decoration was sub-par. She used disgusting rice paper on my cake. (Rice paper is like what is used on picture cakes.) We discussed that she would make the background of my cake look like the Mountain Retreat Amethyst stationary from Minted. The color was pale. I expected an airbrushed, vibrant cake. She did not communicate with me enough about decoration expectations. I was not given options for technique and she didn't discuss the rice paper with me beforehand.
4. We ordered 2 cheesecakes to supplement our dessert bar and they were inedible. They went totally flat, tasted and looked disgusting.
I was very disappointed and she apologized to me over text but I have not received a refund.
Jane has a good reputation and I thought she knew what she was doing but I didn't receive anything like the picture I showed her or the cakes that are pictured on her website.
Buyer beware. I can't re-create my cake cutting moment, but maybe you could avoid the heartache I experienced. -

Brides, go with a professional bakery, don’t trust this woman to deliver ANYTHING correct. To sum it up, I didn’t get what I paid for. I ordered a small tiered cake and 300 cupcakes of 6 different flavors. The tiered cake was supposed to be covered in champagne colored buttercream with ivory buttercream in a lace pattern over the whole thing. What I got was a plain white cake with a ribbon around the bottom. Not even close to the picture Jane showed me and NOT what was discussed.
The cupcakes were supposed to be placed in fancy ivory lace wrappers. I paid extra for these wrappers and SHE DIDN’T USE THEM! Jane even texted me pictures so I could pick the specific lace wrapper I wanted, and I replied with my choice. When I got to the reception I realized she put the baked cupcakes in another regular cupcake wrapper and they were brown! It was hideous, it didn’t match my other wedding décor and looked cheap. It was not at all what was discussed and NOT what I ordered and NOT what I paid for!
Then over half of the cupcake frostings were wrong. I specifically told her I wanted chocolate buttercream on 4 of the flavors I’d selected. Every single one of those sad cupcakes had white frosting. Even the chocolate salted caramel. The flavor combination was all wrong! There were also cupcake flavors I didn’t order, like banana. Where the heck did those come from! And what else didn’t I receive that I paid for because she gave me banana cupcakes??
I’m so upset. I feel cheated! -
