As the father of the bride, it came as no surprise to me that my independent daughter would pick a destination wedding on another continent. I was concerned that she picked Ecuador, because none of us had ever been there before. How do you put the biggest day of your life yet in the hands of strangers almost 4,000 miles away? The good news is that she found Jamila & Juliette, iand more importantly, Assay and Jose Luis. They were amazing. So very helpful to us as we traveled before and after. They made the whole weekend perfect. Every attention to detail was made. Anything they could do to make the wedding special was thought of and accommodated. Travel to and from was perfect, the pre-wedding activities were perfect, the wedding was perfect & travel plans after the wedding were perfect. I can’t express how amazing everything was. I highly recommend Jamila & Juliete for all of your wedding and travel planning needs.

Made the wedding of our dreams come true!
We used Jamila and Juliette for our wedding in May of 2025. Assyah and Jose Luis were our main points of contact. They speak perfect English and were extremely professional. They made everything we could’ve dreamed of and more come true! We had about 40 guests come from the United States from Ecuador. They helped arrange all our guests travel from the time they landed to the time they left the country. We planned a three day event, at two separate venues. They went beyond just setting up a beautiful wedding ceremony. They were emotionally invested in us and our love story. They truly felt like part of the family by the time we left. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to Assyah, Jose Luis, and the entire Jamila and Juliette team. We met with them via Zoom call as often as we felt was needed leading up to the wedding and they had every single detail thought of and completed. From English speaking assistants/guides for guests who didn’t speak Spanish to gift bags to the time line of the wedding day. Everything went so smoothly. Jamila and Juliette also has a travel service and they completely planned our honeymoon in the Galapagos and additional travel for other guests who wanted to explore more of Ecuador. Our honeymoon was beyond perfect and we LOVED every second of it. I would 100% recommend Jamila & Juliette if you are looking for a wedding planner in Ecuador or the Galapagos.

Assyah and Jose are amazing. We wanted to do a wedding in Ecuador as now husband’s biological mother was from there and he had reconnected with family. We had one meeting with them and trusted them immediately. They sent us options of different venues and were willing to accommodate us as things came up. They really got to know us and our styles so the of the day wedding everything was perfect. They were responsive and available during the whole process which is very stressful from afar. They have great connections to vendors and have us fair prices. Day of the wedding there is staff to help. They felt like family by the end. Can't recommend them enough. -

A snob wedding professional becomes a total fan
The communication between all of us in the US was top notch. The rehearsal and rehearsal dinner oh my goodness was flawless and so much fun. The day of the wedding was emotional for me. The groom and my son who passed were childhood and young adult friends. But as their officiant and another mother to the groom I showed up. The help of these fine folks and their professionalism was outstanding. I have married over 2500 couples. But I so highly recommend these professional people. Destination weddings mean you get great value for the money and time to really reconnect with loved ones as we did. God Bless you all for doing such a great job. -

Jamila & Juliette may be the name of their wedding-planning business, but behind the brand are two very real and passionate people who put together a spectacular wedding weekend for me, my husband, and our 80 closest family and friends.
For context, my now husband and I are both from Miami but our wedding guests live around the world – from the Caribbean to South America to Europe and Australia. I was uninterested in a beach wedding at home because of the heat and humidity so we looked elsewhere. Neither of
us are Ecuadorian but the country holds a very special place in my heart as I spent a great part of my childhood travelling the country with my family. So we decided to start looking at venues and searching for wedding planners we could trust. Upon finding a venue, La Palma Polo Club, that checked all of our boxes (near airport, lodging on-site, amazing views, and post-midnight closing time), we soon stumbled upon Jamila & Juliette. Of the several wedding planners we were considering, they easily stood out as our
number one choice. They appeared authentic, experienced, and displayed their style with good taste. Before we were under contract, we set up a call with Assyah and Jose to get a better feel for them and make sure it was a good fit. Not only did they affirm our intuition, but they were also
very professional, informative, and dedicated to answering all our questions. But most importantly, we trusted them. They even had a working relationship with the venue we were interested in, so it just felt right.
From the beginning, they helped keep us organized with tasks and timelines to keep us on track. The process of choosing vendors was seamless. After speaking to us and understanding what we wanted or were looking for in each vendor, they sent us options to review, then would set up calls for us. The vendors ranged in pricing and varied a bit in what they could offer. After
interviewing several vendors for each category, we could not have been happier with our photographer and caterer. Even the options for our rehearsal dinner venues were top-tier. In regard to the music vendors, we had limited options. However, not only did they perform well,
but the violinist and saxophonist combination and DJ were each very affordable.
In planning the wedding, we had productive discussions about how we wanted the ceremony and reception to look like, and they did a great job executing it. With our style in mind, they offered a variety of necessary rentals like chairs, linens, glassware, etc. with good tier price options. Throughout the process, they were never pushy about anything, which made us even more comfortable with our choices.
As far as florals go, they did an excellent job arranging them. Every arrangement was stunning and classy. As the wedding date came closer, our lives became so busy with other things that we did not have the bandwidth to stay involved in the planning process and so we completely
trusted them to make adjustments for the wedding as they deemed fit.
Both Assyah and Jose were also very patient with us when we could not respond in a timely manner or had late requests or changes for our wedding. Each time, they found a way to make it happen unless we simply were not allowed to. Even with a tight budget, they found ways to
stretch every dollar without compromising our vision or quality.
Our wedding date was set to be in April of 2024. So when gang violence in Ecuador had made international news, we were worried. Assyah and Jose immediately reached out to gauge how we were feeling, and they continued to reach out us frequently with updates on the political climate and temperature. We already had a trip planned to visit them (two weeks after the news broke) in Ecuador to see the venue and meet with vendors so after considering the information they were giving us as well as from other people in Ecuador, and we kept our itinerary and flew down to meet them.
They met with us the day we flew in and were very nice and personable. We went over some outstanding details for the wedding and scheduled the rest of our trip. We had the opportunity to meet with our photographer, Joel, and do a photoshoot with him that day and we really enjoyed working with him. We also had a food tasting with our caterer, Z Catering, who went
above and beyond to make us feel special and we really loved it. Then Assyah and Jose drove us around to see our wedding venue and meet the staff. They also drove us to several wedding rehearsal dinner venue options, then drove us back to our hotel. After we got back from our
trip, we felt a lot better about keeping our wedding date and having our guests attend our wedding. Assyah and Jose continued to keep us well informed on what was happening in the country and offered to speak to and assist any of our guests with their travel plans or inquiries.
Our wedding day was an unforgettable event not just for us, but for our guests as well. We continue to receive compliments on how beautiful it was aesthetically and emotionally, as well as how much fun everyone had! Many of our guests expressed that it was the most memorable wedding they had ever been to, and we owe many thanks to Assyah and Jose for making it
happen. The process of working with them for a year was full of communication, professionalism, and trust. They were there for every step of the way to help plan, design, build, and manage all the moving parts for our special day so that we could just be present and

We found Jamila + Juliette on IG. We reached out and responded quickly. We were planning a non-traditional, bi-cultural, bilingual wedding that mixed jewish and christian traditions. Jamila + Juliette were up for the challenge and worked with us in a short notice. We do not live in Ecuador so having scheduled zoom meetings worked well. They recommended a photographer that we loved and other local vendors that aligned with our progressive values. highly recommend it! -

We originally thought that we would be able to plan our wedding in Ecuador site unseen by ourselves. After months of attempting this with difficulty, we were so glad to have found Etica Events to help us. They jumped in and hit the ground running with all of the planning. They were able to take our ideas and turn them into so much more than what we could have ever imagined for ourselves. The beauty that we had during our day was surpassing any expectations that we originally had. The lively colors of the event are going to make for the most beautiful pictures and we owe it all to Etica Events for creating such a picturesque day. Jose & Assyah gave us the most amazing experience. We had a dream elopement at a beautiful hacienda in the mountains of Ecuador. Our bungalow was huge and out of a magazine. The food and service were fantastic. They took photos from my wife's pinterest and gave her exactly the decorations and flowers she wanted. They were sweet, nice, and personally involved. They were easy to communicate with and warm. They took care of everything and worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted. We will remember it forever. And we would have taken that balloon arch home if we could have. If we make it back to Ecuador, we would love to meet them out for dinner. -

They were very easy to work with , answered all our questions promptly and took care of EVERYTHING. The decor was stunning,and everyone who worked at the wedding was incredibly kind, helpful and worked hard to create a magical experience we will never forget . No request was too much (Assyah even helped us when a guest left his suit on the bus and she delivered it back to our hotel ) . With only two weeks notice Etica Events-Terrasenses went above and beyond to make sure every single detail was perfect the day of our wedding. Jose made us feel not only like we could count on him to anything we needed but he has been in touch with us even after our wedding. You don't really see this with other wedding planners. We encountered a significant lack of professionalism, poor communication, and felt there was a complete disregard for accountability. In retrospect, I believe that not having the contract reviewed by a qualified attorney left us in a vulnerable position. The organization from the start was lacking, and it was particularly their poor communication that led to significant issues with our guest list, which caused distress in some of our valued friendships. The challenges we faced with the planner became so significant, emphasizing the importance of our wedding day and the unacceptable level of service we were receiving, that we decided to find another wedding planner.
My advice for anyone considering hiring a wedding service is to ensure any agreement is thoroughly reviewed by a legal professional before signing or making any payments. It's worth noting that in our experience, formal invoices were not provided, only receipts. I would not recommend relying solely on the advertised packages on their website without thorough scrutiny.
In searching for a wedding planner in Ecuador, there are numerous reputable services available that offer exemplary service without the distress we experienced. It is important to conduct thorough research and consider multiple options to guide your decision-making process. Let our story inform your choices and help you avoid the difficulties we faced. -

Don't make my mistake in hiring Assyah
I hired Assyah and Jose in 2019. Paid their hefty fee of $3200 ish upfront. I did this thinking that it would show my commitment to them. BIG MISTAKE. We were supposed to get married in one town and due to COVID had to cancel. Our venue closed and we were on the hunt for another venue. In 2021 early on we picked a different venue, and in March I begged for updates. It was not until late August I began to get anything to review and it was rudimentary when the wedding was in December 2021.
I hired Assyah because of the website and beautiful website pictures. They lead you to believe that you will see many venue options, they will negotiate on your behalf and charge you no design fees. Assyah designs the flowers and provides them. Early on I found someone else who they could work with to provide everything flowers, tables, etc at $50 per person, they just had to provide the design, as they offered. Assyah was extremely offended that I would dare look for cheaper prices. I cried the night after this discussion as she made me feel inadequate and poor. PS: I spent close to 30K and the first time we met I was clear we had a 25K budget.
A month before the wedding during the video flower trial I begged her to take out all brown flowers. I have never liked the color brown, I explained this months before. Day of the wedding 50% brown flowers, like very Brown flowers. (Now it's comical, that day it was so painful). On the day of the wedding what Assyah & Jose told me would be a team of 4 makeup and 4 hairstylists for 12 people, however, on the day of the wedding, there was a team of two make-up artists, one hairstylist, and three of their friends/ family.
Two days before the wedding we had a rehearsal - Assyah drew the ceremony layout, there would be a walkway entry like any other wedding, seven benches on each side for EVERYONE to sit. I made it a point that I had a lot of older family members so everyone sitting would be important. Assyah asked what to do if it rained and I told her to use her judgment because I had not been to the ceremony venue. She mentioned they would have a backup tent if needed. Ps: we were getting married in the “rain” forest. On the day of the ceremony, apparently, no tent was secured, and it poured, therefore there was no backup option but to get soaked in the rain. OH… There was no walkway, I had to enter from the side of the altar, and only ½ the guests could sit as there were not enough benches, and the others were forced to stand in the rain. When I arrived at the ceremony - there was NO bouquet for me. My groom did not have the boutonniere that I asked her for three times that week. I begged her to please go just find leftover flowers and make me a bouquet. She put something together and handed the flowers to me. My cousin had to pick out the dead flowers from everyone's bouquets!. (Again comical now, painful then). There is soooo much more I could share, like how when I went to cut the cake there weren't plates, a knife or spoons, and they stood there and laughed; Or how I sent them a music list about 5 times begging them to make sure my first dance had the special edit remix because we took classes for 3 months, and then they didn't get this to the DJ so the DJ played the whole song, or how my WHOLE family practiced for a month a flash dance, but the song was never played so the dance never happened. -
