Trying to think of the most important thing I can say to someone considering Jamie May photography and the best advice I can give you is to just do it and thank me later!

If she is available on your special day, get her booked before it’s too late. We booked Jamie May for our engagement shoot and wedding day and we have no regrets. Not one!!

The shots she got are absolutely amazing. She was wonderful to work with and so nice to be around, especially during the getting ready portion of our wedding day.

Jaime May is the easiest decision you will make in terms of a photographer with the highest quality work and just an overall pleasant, helpful and uplifting demeanor. Our wedding photos are incredible and the turn around time was so fast. She took so many photos and it’s so hard to choose which ones to print.

I can’t say enough how fortunate we were to have her available on our special day.

I recently had the immense pleasure of working with Jamie and Marie for my wedding, and I cannot express enough how truly exceptional the experience was. From our initial consultation to the fast delivery of the final photographs, every aspect of working with them was nothing short of extraordinary. They helped make my day as stress-free as possible! Great Photographer!

I came across Jamie May Photography when I was researching wedding photographers because she photographed another wedding at the venue where I got married. I’m so glad that I found her, I’m very happy with my wedding photos! She is very talented and captures really amazing pictures.

Fast forward 6.5 years later and I’m happily continuing to use Jamie for my family’s annual photo sessions each fall. I’m very happy to continue this relationship and she’s doing a great job capturing my family for what I hope is many years to come.

I would recommend Jamie in a heartbeat, she does great work and is very easy to work with! A picture is really with a thousand words and I think Jamie’s photography speaks volumes.

Top Notch Photograher

I have worked with Jamie on family photos in the past, but more recently, my niece and her fiancé hired her and her team for their wedding. They captured the day beautifully and my niece was ecstatic about how all of the pictures turned out. From a guest and family perspective, they not only took amazing shots of everything, they were unobtrusive, accommodating and efficient all while being friendly and helpful with everything my niece was looking for in capturing her day. I couldn’t believe how many pictures were provided. The pictures were stunning and I am so happy that my niece and her new husband had such a variety to choose from. Best Wedding Photographer in Michigan!

Jamie was an absolute dream photographer to have for our big day. We first got acclimated with Jamie when she shot our engagement photos. This session was included in our package and was a great way to have an initial meeting and get some great pics for our save the dates. These photos came out great and also helped us feel a lot more comfortable about having Jamie there for our big day as we already had broken the proverbial ice and loved her cheerful easy going personality. As for her work on our wedding day, it was absolutely tremendous. Her assistant Marie was amazing as well and their positive personalities really made the entire photo taking experience fun and painless. My wife and I both look back and are shocked by how many great photos we have since we didn't feel like the photo taking took over our day in any way shape or form like we have seen at other weddings we have attended. Jamie's turnaround on getting us our final pics was such a great bonus as she literally had them to us within two weeks of our wedding. If you are looking for a photographer and are lucky enough that Jamie still has availability on your day, snatch her up ASAP as her work is amazing and you will have beautiful memories to cherish forever.

Best Photographer ever! Not only amazing photos (too many to choose from) but also so fun and easy to work with.

BEST PHOTOGRAPHER EVER! There is only one problem-all of the photos are amazing and there are too many to choose from. Jamie and her assistant took the stress away from the day and made it so fun! She is so talented and knows just how to find the perfect light and capture those candid shots that I love. My husband and I cannot stop looking at our photos. Everyone that sees them wants to know who our photographer is.

I can't say enough about Jamie May Photography. I was planning my wedding from out of town and Jamie was the best. Leading up to the wedding Jamie was extremely helpful and very responsive to emails. We were able to meet in person once before the wedding to go over details. Again, Jamie drove out to meet us which really helped. On the day of the wedding, they were amazing. We did tons of pictures before the wedding and even with the rain/overcast weather we had wonderful pictures! I have received so many compliments on how amazing our pictures are and I owe that all to Jamie and Marie.

Jamie did a fantastic job on our wedding pictures! It's so hard to choose from them! Jamie and Marie were so fun and easy to work with the day of the wedding. They were very accommodating with the locations we wanted around Grand Rapids. Since I wasn't from around the area, I trusted their judgment and they did not disappoint! They made sure to capture all the pictures we had on our checklist, plus a ton more. We received our pictures only a couple weeks after our wedding, which was very impressive! I would highly recommend Jamie for your wedding!

It's very easy for me to score Jamie with 5 stars across the board. She was so wonderful to work with! My husband and I are not exactly comfortable in front of a camera, but Jamie made it easy for us to feel natural and happy. Our wedding pictures turned out wonderfully! I always dreamed of magazine-worthy wedding pictures, and Jamie delivered a thousand of them. And she was so patient throughout the day as we had her take every possible combination of pictures with all my relatives and close friends. Jamie photographed our engagement pictures, too, and she was very flexible rescheduling when the weather was wet and rainy. I definitely recommend her services to any bride and groom in the market for a photographer.

We only had Jamie for a couple hours the day of our wedding and that was the first time we ever even met her in person. She is so personable and made us feel so comfortable during the entire time! We would definitely recommend!

Jamie is incredibly talented and it shines through in her photos. As soon as she arrived to the church for photos she got right to task, and I didn't have to worry at all (which is what you want on your wedding day). She was so much fun, caught great candid moments throughout the day, and the finished products are absolutely beautiful. We have so many great photos of our wedding I have to keep them on a constant rotation in the house because I want all of them on display! When I found Jamie May Photography, I instantly fell in love with her style of wedding photography. I sent her an email and she responded so quickly! We were only three months out from the wedding and she said she was pretty booked and the only day she was available was our wedding date! Fate! Jamie and Marie were fabulous throughout our whole day. It's easy to loose track of time but they helped keep us on track and captured our day perfectly. I still look through our pictures on a daily basis. Since the wedding, we've booked family sessions with Jamie and hoping to use Jamie For my sisters wedding next year! The only problem with Jamie May Photography is that we live 2.5 hours away! :)

Jamie May has been such an amazing photographer from engagement pictures through the wedding day! We searched for so long to find the perfect photographer for us! After the wedding day I feel like friends with Jamie and Marie! They were amazing making sure we got every shot I really wanted! All of our guests and bridal party kept saying how awesome they were. We met Jamie for our engagement pictures and I had given her little to work with other than we had a puppy for photos and I wanted a Willow Tree picture. Jamie found the perfect spot for our pictures and made us feel comfortable despite the puppy barking!! The wedding day Jamie and Marie covered all the small details and were sure to keep busy shooting even when our decoration set up took longer than anticipated. We could not be happier with the few sneak peaks we have seen so far and can't wait to get all of the photos back. My Husband and I were married in May and have to say we had the easiest planning process, and the most perfect wedding. The day went off without a hitch, and we had beautiful weather, even though they predicted rain.

Jamie was our photographer, and along with her assistant Marie, were absolutely wonderful! They managed to hit every item on our checklist, even though we had a wedding with 250 people. We were able to do more serious formal shots, along with some that were fun and goofy. They were both so nice, and so professional.

We got our photos a short three weeks after the wedding and they were absolutely spectacular. The C.D.'s were adorable with some of my favorite shots adorned to the front of them. The folders on the C.D. were all organized nicely by name so they were easy to go through.

The hardest part now will be picking which photos we want for our friends and family as well as ourselves.

All in all I will be returning to Jamie May Photography for mine and my family's future photography needs.

I am happy that I hired Jamie May Photography for my wedding day. She arrived on time, followed through with all of my photography shot requests, and best of all, had a big smile on her face all day. Right off the bat, I felt very comfortable around her and her assistant.

I received my photos very promptly after the wedding, and they turned out great! They got all the traditional shots, plus a bunch of fun ones and candid shots that I will cherish for years to come.

Jamie is an excellent photographer with an eye for formal and candid photos that capture every detail of the day. Both her and her assistant are very easy going, friendly, professional and a joy to be around. They are very hard working, making sure to put in every effort to get the shots you want. They are open to suggestions (Pinterest :-) ) and really do want to make sure they photograph your day how you imagined it. Jamie also did our engagement photos- which are all just as amazing. She gets the pictures back to you quickly and is also very affordable. You will be pleased with everything Jamie May has to offer!

I recently got married and my husband and I had a very intimate wedding ceremony in October 2013 and we could not be happier with Jamie May's Photography. She was professional, kind, affordable and incredibly flexible. Not to mention we got our pictures back way before I ever expected them. And the pictures are extraordinary! I literally can not stop looking through them. Jamie has a true talent on how to capture the moment, the energy, the depth, the lighting, and is willing to gage what her client is comfortable with. We could not have imagined a better photographer. The pictures are absolutely amazing. Jamie used her professional expertise to tailor every detail to our taste. Not only that, but she got our phots back to us very quick (several weeks faster than what I heard is the normal time). They are already hanging on our wall!! Bottom line was she did everything we expected and more! And for a price much cheaper than the others we considered!

I would give Jamie May a 6 if I could. She did an amazing job at my wedding, was so caring, flexible and absolutely has an eye for photography...basically, everything you would want. :)

I couldn't have been more pleased with her catching all the smiles and details of our very special day and would recommend her again and again. Thanks Jamie for being so wonderful! :)

I absolutely loved working with Jamie May Photography. It was so important to us to have good pictures at our wedding and have a great time getting them done. Both of those were achieved. I've received so many compliments on our pictures. And I had a blast getting them done. It was such a fun day. Only problem was we have too many wonderful pictures. We can't decide which ones to print!! :)

Jamie is extremely talented and has a great sense of the people she works with. We wanted a photographer who could give us a mix of photojournalistic, modern, and classic, and Jamie May Photography delivered ten fold! Jamie has a lot of fresh and fun ideas and is not afraid to try new things with her photography, but she doesn't skimp on the traditional shots. She's also a great listener and will take your suggestions and run with them to create a highly unique product. Jamie is a lot of fun to work with and is always smiling, but she is also highly professional and blends into the background when necessary; for the more candid shots at the ceremony and reception, she was like a chameleon! I hardly noticed that there were photographers around, and yet I ended up with over 1000 outstanding proofs!

The bottom line: the photos from our engagement session and our wedding day were phenomenal, and Jamie was an absolute joy to work with. She captured our most special day in a way that was both classic and contemporary, so that our photos will easily stand the test of time. I highly recommend Jamie to anyone looking for a fantastic (and, may I say, affordable!) wedding photographer.

This photography team was absolutely amazing! Everything was perfect from the moment we first met with them. Extremely professional but yet very down to earth and easy to get along with. They made the wedding day so much fun! The pictures we received back are incredible and we have so many to choose from. Having the two person team allows you to receive so many different angles and none of the special moments were missed. Fabulous service and we would HIGHLY recommend them to any engaged couple :)

Jamie did an excellent job with both our wedding and our engagement photos! We had a great time working with her and really enjoyed the energy and professionalism that she brought to help us feel comfortable and get the photos from our wedding and engagement that we absolutely love. Jamie also designed our entire wedding album which I was incredibly impressed with! The quality was fantastic and she was able to take hundreds of amazing photos and turn them into a beautiful album for us that was way beyond anything that I could have done myself! We loved working with Jamie and highly recommend her to anyone looking to book their engagement and wedding photographer - you will not be disappointed!

Absolutely amazing pictures! Jamie and Marie were so fun to work with and incredibly talented. They did a great job organizing the wedding pictures and making sure we got every shot we wanted. They both have a great eye and captured our wedding perfectly!

What a great experience. Jamie and Marie were great to work with, and they really made the picture-taking fun and relaxing! We took pre-ceremony pictures in multiple locations, and they were very flexible with this. Not to mention the great pictures they took during the cocktail hour and reception. We'd definitely recommend them for your wedding. Thanks, Jamie and Marie!

Jamie May Photography photographed my wedding, which was at the Blue Dress Barn, she did everything I asked and more. She captured all of the special moments so well on the day of my wedding. One of the things I really appreciated was how she paid attention to the details and decorations. Some of these details I only got to see because she took pictures of them. She also tried to take pictures of all my guests who attended the wedding. She did a wonderful job and I would recommend her to anyone!

I loved having two photographers; having photos from multiple angles was very nice. Also, being able to split up for wedding party photos made things go quicker. The photographers were very thorough to make sure we didn't miss a specified shot and did a great job of getting my inspiration photos from Pinterest.

Disappointed

Our experience with this photographer was disappointing and unprofessional. We paid for the unlimited package but 4 days before our wedding I was told that 12 hours of coverage was too long. We paid for a second shooter to man a PhotoBooth we had built but the week of was told they couldn’t accommodate and suggested we buy a ring light, so guests can take their own photos. After trying to offer hotel accommodations because she complained about the drive, I was told I was taking advantage of her and was asking for things no one else has. Please keep in mind, I was asking for a photo with our dogs, a last dance photo, and sparkler photos which I was told during our initial call would not be an issue and things she had done in the past. The day of the wedding, Jamie told me she had not done these types of photos before and it is all photoshopped. People in our wedding party and guests all felt like they were putting out our photographer when asking for photos. During our wedding party photos, the group felt rushed and like we an annoyance to Jamie even though we had everything built into the timeline. Multiple vendors and guests heard her complaining about the event itself. When the photos came back, they were nice. It did seem like she was not interested in positioning people during the formals or editing them as several came back seemingly undone. While talking with a guest and I, Jamie asked for the guest’s software and said if she did not give it to her than the guest can just edit the photos because she will not. Thankfully, I do have LightRoom on my own computer and was able to go back over and smooth out some flaws and edit the photos in questions.
Overall, I had many great vendors that made the day wonderful. She, however, was not one of them. We had a good experience with her during our engagement session, however our relationship should have ended there. I would suggest she update her contract.
