Best Caterer for Southern Home Cooking

We booked Jackie's Kitchen for our wedding. When we did a taste testing with Jackie we were overwhelmed with how delicious her food was and her customer service. We were looking for good southern home cooking food and that is what she was! After our taste testing we did not feel the need to try any other caterers, we knew she was right for us! I, the bride, am a very basic eater, so I left all food choices up to my groom, mom and sister. After learning this Jackie wanted to ensure I had something I loved, macaroni and cheese, so she made some just for me and my husband. How sweet!!! It was a huge sweet gesture and I loved eating every bite of it too!! All the food was flavorful and so good, even to a picky eater like myself! I will use Jackie again for all future catering needs.

So Delicious

Having never heard of Jackie's Kitchen, I didn't know what to expect before our tasting but we were blown away. The food was amazing and we received so many compliments at the wedding. Jackie's daughter helps coordinate all the details and she is very helpful and easy to get in touch with. We would definitely hire Jackie's Kitchen again.

Amazing food, beautiful presentation and the taste was next to none. Jackie is a wonderful person who is very caring and becomes a friend by the time the wedding is here. I highly recommend Jackie's Kitchen, and will use her for any functions in my future. YUMMY!!!!!

Jackie's Kitchen Is The Best!

Jackie's Kitchen has prepared and served dinners and heavy hors d'oeuvres for special occasions for the Decatur County Historical and Genealogical Society for several years. We are very pleased with Jackie's food and presentations and highly recommend Jackie's Kitchen for events of all types. We always receive high compliments from our guests about Jackie's services! I have not addressed cost and number of guests (next page), since these vary by occasion, but our board and our guests agree that Jackie's Kitchen is the only vendor we will use.

Always friendly, professional, delicious!

I have had Jackie cater one of my children's weddings and subsequently I have hired her to cater on many occasions to cater our large monthly business dinners. The food is high quality as is the service. There is nothing I could ever say other than 'on point' always! always professional and courteous. I look forward to Jackie's food always!

Amazing food, excellent service.

Take advantage of food tasting to select your ideal menu. Everything that Jackie make is delicious, so it will be hard to choose. Jackie is so helpful and insightful that she makes the whole process easy and delightful. And the food is AMAZING!

Jackie's Kitchen was easy to work with and always so friendly. The food at my wedding was amazing, the best wedding food I have ever had and all my guest made sure to tell me how wonderful their dinners were. I would give my highest recommendation to anyone for Jackie's Kitchen.

Jackie catered my daughter's wedding reception. The service was excellent, the food- (oh my!) was divine; professionalism was evident from beginning to end. People are still talking about the wonderful food! The selection of foods, as well as the presentation was exemplary. I highly recommend Jackie and staff!

If you EVER need a Caterer, Jackie's Kitchen is the place to call. Jackie has catered many meals for me, small and large; the service & food are always the same.....OUTSTANDING! Last night, she catered a Sr. Adult dinner at First Baptist, Donalsonville. The food arrived right on time, hot, perfectly prepared and professionaly delivered! One year, when her husband was in the hospital in B'ham, Jackie drove home from B'ham to make sure everything was on-go & ready for the Women's Banguet at FBC; that kind of service these days is RARE or non-existant!! Thank you so much Jackie for providing such a valuable service for this area!!

I have planned many corporate functions over the years and Jackie's Kitchen by far was the best caterer I have ever used! The staff was very polite and willing to do whatever it took to make things perfect! Did I mention how awesome the food was!! Everything was just perfect! They will be the ONLY catering company we call from this day forward!

Planning a wedding from a distance can have unique challenges. As the Mother of the Bride, I wanted everything to be done well. Jackie's Kitchen met all my expectations. The professionalism and expertise they exhibited was wonderful. They were easy to work with and flexible with any changes we had to make. The food was excellent and they worked together as a team that made the dinner very enjoyable. Any questions I may have had or advice I may have needed, they were there for me. Oh my gosh!!! I have no other words than amazing!!!! I have never been disappointed out of all the times I have used them they were amazing and then to add to it they blew me and my husband away with how perfect all our favorite foods were on our special wedding day!!!

Jackie's Kitchen provided catering service for the Wakulla High School Black History Gala this year. Jackie and her staff were extremely punctual and were accommodating while working the event. Both Kristy and Jackie were both accommodating to the many changes that were made just a day prior to the event and for that I am extremely thankful. The food and the service was first class with rave reviews from everyone in attendance. Kudos to Jackie's Kitchen for a job well done!

We used Jackie's for a big company Christmas party and it could not have been any better. Great food and such a pleasure to work with her & her staff. She made it a point to make sure all of our needs were met and the guests loved the food!! Will definitely use again!!

Jackie, her daughter Kristy and her entire team of servers were incredible. The food was the best I've ever had at a wedding and her prices were very reasonable. They were friendly, helpful and professional before the event and during the event. I would recommend her catering services to any couple looking for a caterer. You will not be disappointed! Thanks to Jackie's Kitchen our daughter had the perfect fairly tale wedding. Her staff was extremely dedicated to making sure that our guests got proper attention and service. The food was good, hot and plenty of it. Our guests made many comments about how good southern cooking it was, which fit in with the plantation setting. We added some additional servers and that made a huge difference in having them refill the water and tea glasses, plus keeping the empty alcoholic beverages containers cleared off the tables. They were very affordable and competitive. We used her for our son's rehearsal dinner and would definitely use their services again.

Jackie was the best! Her daughter and staff were excellent and a perfect fit for my wedding reception. The food was set up nicely and tasted great. Staff were very helpful and polite. Definitely made the reception go smoothly. They cleaned everything up afterwards and had the left over food ready to transport when the bridal party was ready to go.

We were very thankful for Jackie and her staff for our delicious wedding food. From the first time meeting Jackie we were confident we chose the right caterer for our wedding. She was very willing to work with us to make our vision come to life for the kind of food we wanted for our stations. The food was amazing and so was the display. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about Jackie's Kitchen. They were friendly, helpful, professional, and flexible. We had some special dietary needs and they were very accommodating. Our wedding was in the morning with a chicken and waffles brunch. There were so many compliments! I would choose Jackie's Kitchen again for any other events without hesitation.

Everything was made simple for me from start to finish. Communication was excellent, which was essential, considering I was planning the rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding in GA from NC. Menu, pricing and service was spectacular. Food was presented beautifully and it was scrumptious! Our event was the day after Christmas but not one detail was overlooked. I have already made referrals to friends and family who have upcoming events!

My wife and I would 100% recommend Jackie's Kitchen for any catering service event.
Jackie catered our wedding on 11/14/15 and it was absolutely amazing. The food was to die for, the service was second to none and us and our guests could not have been happier. I can't tell you how many people came up to us afterwards to tell us how good the food was. Jackie and Kristy were a pleasure to work with and extremely helpful in the planning process. They were flexible and understanding of us and our family. They were by far the the most affordable and high quality option in the area!

Planning a Wedding can be very stressful! Creating a culinary memory is definitely one of the most important aspects of the event. With Jackie and her team, I knew we were in great hands. There are no words to describe the experience with Jackie's Kitchen. Ms. Jackie is the sweetest most personable lady ever. Her staff were all so professional and polite. We had so many compliments about the best food ever! We would highly recommend Jackie's Kitchen. Jackie’s Kitchen recently did our son’s rehearsal dinner. It was fantastic!! They were on time, did more than we asked them to do, satisfied all of our guests and most of all, the food was delicious! Everything was first class, the staff was courteous and extremely efficient and professional. We are going to use them again for our daughter’s wedding in the near future and I highly recommend them to any and all people for any event! Jackie and her daughter worked with me up to the day of the wedding whenever I wanted to make changes to the menu. They helped us achieve the menu we wanted at the budget we wanted to stick to and they were great about working with our venue which had limited space and resources. They were so kind and always in contact! The night of the wedding, my wedding planner had a family emergency and Jackie's staff stepped in to help with things they did not have to and just knew what to do because they had been paying attention all night. The food was amazing, all the guest loved it! There was plenty of food and they made us (the bride and groom) a large plate for us to have after the wedding. They did all the clean up and we had nothing to worry about afterwards! They were truly amazing to work with.

Jackies kitchen was professional from day one of planning! No one could beat her price! The food was amazing, everyone commented on how good it was!! Her staff was dressed nice, had good personalities, and worked hard! I would highly recommend jackies kitchen.

I can not express in words how wonderful Jackie and her staff were in preparing for our daughter's wedding. The professionalism in the planning process, serving, personal attention, food preparation was unbelievable. We had a very large number of people and they served with efficiency, hard work and effort to make the night so special. The food was complimented over and over by our guests. I have used Jackie's Kitchen for 2 weddings and have been very pleased with her food and services. She always goes above and beyond to listen to your needs and wants and is very easy to work with. I had 43 days to plan a wedding for 150 guests and since my son and his fiance and I do not live in the same town, I had many changes along the way. She was very patient and flexible as ideas were swapped and changes were made. All of the guests at BOTH weddings had awesome things to say!!!

Jackie was a wonderful person and caterer to use for my daughter’s December 5, 2014 wedding. From my first meeting with Jackie to the end of the wedding event Jackie and her staff were professional and great to work with. The wedding menu consisted of Prime Rib, Baked Herb Chicken, lima beans, field greens with fresh strawberries and vinaigrette dressing, mash potatoes and all tasted great. I received a lot of complements from our guest on the meal Jackie prepared for the wedding. Jackie’s honesty and reassurance that everything would be fine was very reassuring and kept me from turning into a momzilla. Jackie was always prompt at answering any of my questions either by phone or email. One thing that truly impressed me about Jackie is that she cares for each bride and has a desire that the day be as perfect as possible. One day I mentioned to Jackie that I was very stressed and to please pray for me…. her response was very touching to me which was she always prays over every wedding and each bride that she works with. If I need a caterer in the future Jackie will definitely be the caterer I will use again.

You all are AWESOME!!! I was bragging on you all after my tasting with Jackie. Everything was amazing from start to finish, the food was great, especially the Shrimp and Grits, it's a must try...everything was done timely and professional. I had a mishap with the napkins but the staff member was so kind and actually folded a large amount of them for me, with no complaints. Most importantly I love that this is a Christian based business. I bragged about Kristy being so responsive and timely. I never had to wait for an email or an update. They always remained in contact with me the entire time. Finding a caterer was one of the hardest part of the planning process for me, I went to 3 other caterers before Jackie's Kitchen and all and the quotes were great and I knew the food would be great but when it came to responding back to me, they fell short. I felt so confident from the very beginning. I cannot thank you enough for everything, Thank you. You have far exceeded my expectations. Many blessings to you.

I chose Jackie's Kitchen as the caterer for my daughter's elegant, rustic wedding. Jackie is the dream caterer with which to work. As I began the search and interview process, I initially had 3 important criteria the cater I chose must possess: great food, great value, and easy to work with. Jackie checked each of these boxes right off. I gave Jackie some of my ideas and she helped me develop a fabulous, custom menu just for our event. Throughout the process she was so easy and accommodating. And can I say FABULOUS food.... it was over the top! Our guest just continued to RAVE about our food. I got asked "Who did this food? We hired Jackie's Kitchen to cater our 10-year high school reunion this past July. She worked with us on the menu and price and was very informative with each detail of the process. The food was as close to "home cooked" as it gets and the presentation were phenomenal! My husband and I were so pleased with the service and food that Jackie's Kitchen provided at our engagement party, we booked them for our wedding. It was held outdoors under an open barn and I was pleasantly surprised at how well Jackie's Kitchen pulled off their presentation, considering the venue had very little to offer for a caterer. Our original head count we gave them was around 175, but we unexpectedly had close to 300 guests in attendance. Mrs. Jackie came prepared and to my knowledge, we did not run out of food or beverages! She took care of every detail imaginable and made sure things went as planned. My only request was for her to fix a plate for my husband and I so we could have our first meal together in privacy before entering the reception. She happily did this for us and our food was fresh, hot and delicious! Her staff was extremely easy to work with and very personable. Going into the wedding planning, I had no clue where to start regarding a menu. Mrs. Jackie took the reigns and guided me through every step of the process. She was such a joy to work with!

My fiance and I agreed that the food needed to be one of the most important things at our wedding so we couldnt settle on just any caterer. I did some research and meet with several caterers. We had a few tastings and we just werent impressed. I found Jackie's Kitchen on another vendors website and contacted them. We set up a tasting for my fiance and I at Jackie's home. Right when we meet her I knew that this was going to be it. Jackie was sweet and made us feel right at home. She reminded us of our mom and grandmother. She was so sweet and Her food was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She made us feel right at home .During the planning procces they were so good to me! I can't say enough about how wonderful both Jackie and Kristy were to us!!!!!! I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!! When It came time for the wedding they surpassed our expectations. Everyone at the wedding kept saying that it was the best food they had ever had. We had mac and cheese, crab cakes, buffalo chicken dip,pulled pork, etc.....so good!!!!!! Im getting hungry just thinking about how good it was. Miss Jackie does not cut corners by any means. She used realy crab and they were to die for. Anyone who could ever give this woman and her company a bad review must not know what they are talking about. I cant wait to throw another event so that we can hire them again. They were so professional and made our whole wedding experience perfect. Finding Jackies Kitchen was one of the best things we did for our wedding and we are so happy we hired them. Their prices were fantastic too! If you are getting married anywhere near the are they service you need to hire them. You will not be disappointed. Miss jackie makes her food with love and thats how food shoudl taste at a wedding.

My sister discovered Jackie's Kitchen through a wedding venue's website and decided that we should contact them to cater my wedding. Although other ratings on this site made me worried, we emailed Jackie and her daughter Kristy kindly responded and assured us that everything would go smoothly. I can say that on my wedding day, the food was EXCELLENT! I received many compliments from guests saying how delicious the food was. Whenever we had any questions Kristy responded in a timely manner whether that be on the phone or email. Jackie let us schedule a tasting with her and me, my sister, & mother were very impressed. The day of the wedding, Kristy, Jackie, & her staff made sure everything went as planned and were so helpful. I am so glad we decided to choose them for our day!

We were thrilled to have Jackie cater our wedding and rehearsal dinner. We had met a few times and did a tasting, and we were really excited about the menu that we created together. When my husband and I sat down to eat we realized the food was FREEZING cold. I let Jackie know, and instead of correcting the problem immediately she became defensive. She blamed everyone for the cold food, instead of just resolving the problem. She argued with me and blamed everyone from the kitchen, to the venue, to the equipment, to our food choices and then my mother. When she left, she left us with none of the remaining food. According to her it was all thrown away, although it wasn't in the trash cans. A few days after the wedding I called her to discuss what had happened, and she again became defensive. She was totally unprofessional and told me that everyone liked the food except for me and my husband. I reminded her that persons that she was there to please more than anyone was my husband and I seeing as it was our wedding and we paid for it. After going back and forth with her and her contradicting herself over and over, she ended the conversation by telling me that no where in my contract did it say that the food was supposed to be served hot. After requesting some money back she did refund me a small amount of what we paid. But be warned that if you chose to use her, your contract should read that you expect your cooked food to be hot, because apparently that is not a given. I was very disappointed in her reaction and some of the awful things she said to me. Blaming my mother and then attacking me was completely unprofessional. My family from up north told me they thought it was a "southern thing" to eat your food cold, because all of it was freezing. People mistook our macaroni and cheese for Marconi salad. It was a total let down, and I am so sad that this is how it turned out.
