I am so glad I chose J. Sasu Photography for my surprise proposal photos! He was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, from helping me finalize the location (and suggesting backup spots) to making sure we were in the right place at the right time on the day itself. He also made the post-proposal photo session feel fun and special.
The photos turned out absolutely perfect, and we received them just a few days after the session. Overall, we could not have been happier with the experience. If you are looking for a photographer, I cannot recommend J. Sasu Photography highly enough!

Best wedding photographer
J was amazing to work with! His assistant photographer Victoria was also fabulous! We are so so happy with how our photos turned out! J was very clear in giving instructions, picking out spots to take photos, choosing creative angles. The photo composition is complex with great foreground and background. Our wedding venue had indoor and outdoor sections and he and Victoria were able to get great shots in both areas.
The questionnaire J sent us before the wedding was helpful in figuring out what we want. He also worked great with our wedding coordinators. Our conversations before hand were very useful as well. Overall a great experience to work with him! Definitely recommend!

Talented, thoughtful, and flexible photographer
J is absolutely wonderful and thoughtful. We enjoyed doing our engagement photos with him, as it allowed us to get to know him and feel comfortable with him. He then photographed us and our parents and us at our civil ceremony and our wedding reception the following day. His style is easy as he blends into the background and allows you to truly enjoy your day. He was an excellent collaborator with our videographer and DJ and made our day seamless. His photographs are beautiful and truly capture us for who we are. Definitely recommend him!

Wonderful Surprise Proposal Photographer!

Couldn't have been better!
Working with J. was better than we could have expected. Throughout the whole experience, J. made sure to ask questions so that he knew exactly what we were looking for, and to make sure we had a plan so that portraits with the family would run efficiently. On the day of, he was on time, professional, and a great friendly presence that added to the relaxed feelings of our smaller wedding. He was willing to stay on an extra hour on short notice to keep taking pictures of people playing board games and singing karaoke during the reception, and got our photos back to us even sooner than we had expected. We felt like his photography style brought out the color in our very colorful outfits, and are so happy that he caught all the vibrant details of our special day! J was the best photographer ever! We got married at Caboose Farm in September of 2023 and we could not have asked for a more detailed, friendly, fun, and talented photographer. Easy process from start to finish
TLDR: Do one of the packages. I received my photos back so quickly! They were easy to download and look at. Loved all the moments captured.
When I was looking for a photographer. I wanted someone who worked with a diverse group of couples. J was that person.
I liked the photos he posted on his Instagram and I liked his style of photography.
I reached out to him for a quote and heard back immediately. We coordinated early on when the engagement date would be and if he was available for our wedding date. (I booked him about a year and a half in advance)
The engagement session was at two locations of my choice within a reasonable distance. He captured exactly what I was hoping for an engagement session. We also included our dog which he advised to bring a “dog handler” which was great advice because our pup looks perfectly photogenic!
Wedding time: about two weeks before the wedding we scheduled a time to talk about important photos. I filled out his document of what I wanted included for family photos and other shots that were important to us.
The day of the wedding. He was promptly there before to scope out the location and find good spots for wedding photos. He followed every single direction with the utmost professionalism and I would recommend him to anyone.
I got the package with my engagements included, got those photos within a week. For wedding photos, received those between 4-5 weeks after the wedding. And those were the times stated in the contract.
I was prepared for everything and he kept to his word on the contract with times and editing times.
Do not forget to give this man some cake. Or something sweet!

Incredible photographer!!!
My wife and I had our wedding last week and at first we had hired someone else also found through wedding wire but after communicating with him, we were not impressed and were looking to find someone else. Joe came through my father in laws recommendation. My father in law knew a photographer and that photographer brought Joe along with him to our wedding to help with taking the photos. All I can say is that we are beyond amazed at the photos Joe and his team took. Not only is Joe such a professional when it comes to taking photos but he is an incredible man and professional businessman that treated us and our guests with the utmost respect. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed if you hire Joe. From going through this experience I can tell you that having a good photographer is crucial but its also the person that you are dealing with that matters. You want someone who is professional and communicates well and Joe was that guy. He knew exactly the right spots to shoot at and knew how to make us pose so the photos came out perfect.

After my original photographer canceled less than 48 hours prior to my engagement shoot. I found J and he was accommodating and and flexible! We arrived late to our out door shoot and he was able to jump right into action; making sure to capture great lighting and get the picture we wanted our save the dates. Joey was the photographer for a wedding I was in a few years ago so I knew his work was excellent before I contacted him see if he was available for my wedding date. From our first phone call with Joey, my now husband and I could tell Joey is extremely passionate about his work and really goes the extra mile to make sure he delivers fantastic service to all of the couples he works with. Joey was very prompt with communication via text and email throughout the entire process. He also allowed us to customize an hourly package plus a pre-wedding photo session which was perfect for our micro-wedding.
Joey arrived early on the day of our pre-wedding photos to scout out the best spots for the photos. He helped direct us on posing for each photo which was super helpful as neither my husband nor I considered ourselves to be very photogenic. You would never know that from how the photos turned out though! We were so impressed with the quality and variety of the photos (plus the turnaround time was only 3 days!)
On the day of the wedding Joey again arrived early to make sure he was ready to start photographing the details as soon as we arrived as we were working with a shorter timeline than a more traditional, larger wedding. Joey was able to capture all of the shots we wanted and more. We were so thrilled when we received our photos back (about a week after the wedding). Joey was able to capture so many candid moments that we didn’t even realize he was snapping pictures of in the moment. I found the best photographer on WeddingWire.
J. Sasu is a super talent and just TRUST him 100%, super professional, send him your ideas and he will make it come true.
To such an extent I loved his work that I already invited him to my religious marriage in Peru. He has to take my photos yes or yes.
I love his punctuality, he helps with last minute problems and he knows how to handle the guests to get quick and good photos.
He was able to take photos of my 2 golden retrievers and that deserves a prize, because they are hyperactive.

Made Our Day Come to Light!
Due to the Covid-19, we had to switch our wedding up. Joey made sure that we were comfortable financially and personally. He is very personable, and does whatever he needs to do to make your day shine. He traveled to different locations to capture moments of the day. He really brightened up the event, and I would not have wanted anyone else to capture these moments. He knows what he's doing not only with his camera, but with people. He makes sure he understands your vision and will brainstorm with you to make it even better. Use Joey whenever you can! I know I will!

Extremely helpful and talented!!
J was one of the most helpful people throughout our entire wedding experience. He was always there to help us when we needed it and to give us advice/suggestions on how to set up our wedding day timeline in the most efficient way. Our pictures are AMAZING but during our day we hardly even noticed he was there which was wonderful because he was able to photograph the genuine candid moments throughout our wedding ceremony and reception. Our experience with J was incredibly comfortable, like working with a good friend. If you are looking for someone with incredible talent and who will make your big day easier and better for you, then J is the photographer for you!

Pre-wedding
Joey was amazing every step of the way. Due to COVID19 we had to make multiple changes last minute and he was professional and extremely flexible with us. I was able to sent him ideas as to what I wanted exactly and he was creative with creating the most beautiful images (beyond what we had imagined). He was a friend throughout the process and I’d recommend him all my friends and family in a heart beat. Thank you so much for everything Joey!

Simply Amazing
Joseph was incredible! We only had a limited amount of time to plan everything. With all the crazy that comes with planning a wedding, there was a pandemic happening on top of that. Joseph was EXTREMELY professional and efficient which allowed us to worry about one less part of the equation. We had planned the shots that we wanted prior to the wedding, but he was still open to certain shots we wanted the day of. The final edited shots were everything we could have asked for and we received them fairly quickly after the ceremony. His eye for capturing moments is impeccable!

J Sasu Photography was extremely professional. Our wedding day plans were shifted by COVID-19. J was willing to meet us to take pictures at any time and was extremely flexible. He got to the area where we got married early to scope out prime locations for pictures. He didn't just take ordinary pictures. He used tools and tricks to create very creative photos. The turn around time for our finished photos was very quick. The photos were so breath-taking that we were interviewed by Good Morning America and will be featured in a bridal magazine. We highly recommend J Sasu Photography as your wedding photographer!

Great family photographer

Amazing from beginning to end!
Each pic was better than the last... I was speechless today when we got the pics....incredible job! There wasn’t a bad pic in the whole group! Lovely photos by J. Sasu!
J. is a great photographer to work with! We just wrapped up our fall engagement session with him and couldn't be happier with the result. Our pictures were delivered incredibly promptly. They look lovely and his editing style is quite natural which is something I personally like. I am not usually comfortable getting my picture taken but J. made it easy. He gives good directions to you and your Fiance to follow so you won't feel lost during the process. We are happy to have booked him and are looking forward to our wedding photos!

I could not be happier with the photos J took and the experience he provided. Even from initial planning, he was very organized and professional. J did regular check ins to keep us on track while planning our wedding (to figure out timeline, group photos, etc). In the midst of all the wedding planning I was always confident with J and his ability. After the wedding, receiving the photos made it as though me and my husband could relive the whole day. The only wedding plan I knew from the start is that I wanted J as our photographer. He is an old friend and he’s beyond talented. He came all the way to Vermont to shoot our wedding. He made sure everything went smoothly and was always ready with ideas and input of how to make sure everything was picture perfect. He was a huge part of the day and I don’t know how I would have done it without him!

Joey's attention to detail is second to none. I was very impressed from Day 1 as he inquired about our taste and interests and even suggested we book a time with the restaurant we planned to shoot at. J was awesome to work with for our engagement photos! He initially impressed us because he was so willing to plan a photoshoot that would speak to our personality as a couple, and arrived early for our photoshoot in a park to find great photo spots (actually the spots he found were even better than the spots we initially suggested). He knows the MD/DC/VA area and can recommend good spots within the city or park. He's extremely responsive, and always responded to our emails or texts within 24 hours. And the photos came out beautifully (of course!). Overall loved working with J and the final results!

He did our anniversary wedding photos and they were incredible. You can tell hes always well prepared because hes always thinking of ways to take a unique picture. J Sasu went above and beyond for our wedding photos! Not only did he arrive a day early to scout out our venue and the places we wanted to have our photos shot, he was super flexible and accommodated our schedule even as our timeline shifted unexpectedly the day of. One of the reasons we chose J was because we loved how creative his photos were, and that they weren't just the same kind of wedding photos you see everywhere. He was great at directing shots and making sure to capture the unique parts of our wedding. Even prior to the wedding, we were impressed by his proactiveness in asking great questions well in advance of the wedding to make sure we would get all the photos we wanted the day of. I cannot sing enough praise for Jay’s photography. He and his team did our engagement photos on location in DC and our wedding in Maryland. His team was on time, gave great direction and produced unique and unforgettable shots that I’ve NEVER seen before at a wedding. He loves to experiment but also does traditional, beautiful shot. He got really invested in our event and cared how the shots turned out. He also did a good job rounding up our family at the event to get some really good shots. We were so unbelievably happy with his service and our photos. Highly recommend!

Engagement session: There aren't enough words to describe how much we enjoyed working with Joey for our engagement session. Due to inclement weather and busy work schedules, we had to split the session in two parts. Joey was so accommodating and willing to be flexible throughout the whole process. He took the time before the session to check out our two photo locations and set up a Pinterest board for photo ideas. He provided great direction throughout the session and the photos turned out better than we ever could've imagined!
Wedding Day: Joey has a true passion for photography and takes great attention to detail when prepping for each of his couple's wedding day. My fiancé and I used Joey for our engagement shoot. I was worried that since I knew him from high school that I would feel awkward but J made us feel extremely comfortable from the moment we arrived. J was beyond prepared for our shoot! He met with me about a week prior to go over details of what he does and to ask about how I wanted the photos to appear. He even created a Pinterest board and used it as a reference to make sure I got all of the shots I wanted. He knew exactly how to position us and make us pose to get the best shots. J even arrived to the photo shoot site over an hour before our appointment time to scope out the best spots and lighting. He really thought of everything and after leaving the shoot, J sent us a few edited photos. I was amazed at how quickly he was able to edit everything- we got our finished photos within a week! We knew right away that we wanted to use J for our wedding and I would highly recommend him to any couple!

I booked J at the recommendation of a friend after being tired and frustrated of trying to find a photographer that didn't over charge and didn't take weeks to respond to an email. And wow, am I glad I did!! The day of my engagement photos, I knew I had made an excellent choice. It was freezing cold, and unbelievable windy, and I think I complained the entire time! But J was nothing short of professional, understanding, and encouraging. He fought through the elements with us and was excited about it the whole time, promising me along the way that we were getting great shots. And he was right! We got our photos back like a week later! And they were amazing. We used them for our Save The Dates as well as decor throughout the wedding. For your wedding, J is exactly what a bride needs. He is extremely detail oriented and made sure to get every shot I had requested in addition to capturing everything that was going on. He arrived at the venue early and scoured the whole place looking for the right places to get the shots we wanted -- he even took a golf cart out to scout a spot I had found in a picture! Your wedding day goes by in a blur, and J did an amazing job of capturing so many moments I found myself struggling to remember. Looking through my wedding photos, it's such a joy to not only relive the memory, but also discover the "in between" moments you didn't realize was happening at the time. Besides being an incredible photographer, J is the ultimate professional. He answers every email quickly, has answers to questions I didn't even know to ask, and really takes the time to get to know you and make sure he is giving you exactly what you are looking for. Just days after my wedding, he was texting me "sneak peaks" which not only made me so excited to see all of the photos, but really gave me the sense that he was just as excited as I was - you will not be "just another bride" to him. His passion for his work and his strong work ethic truly sets him apart.

We had a wonderful photo shoot with J. He was responsive from day 1, working with us via email, phone and pinterest to go over ideas since we live out of town. He created a shot list with everything we requested and scoped out our location prior to our arrival in DC to make sure the shots were doable. He was also great at capturing the candid moments we weren't expecting in between shots. I can't wait for our wedding day photos and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fun and exciting photo shoot!

Joey was awesome to work with for our wedding!! He was super organized, and very professional; Joey was always on top of things and reaching out to us to plan next steps in the process. We felt like we were in good hands the whole time! The engagement shoot was fun, and his planning for that was more than expected. As for the actual wedding day, Joey was organized, flexible, and remained calm despite the craziness of a wedding day! We love the photos! Joey is talented, creative, and once again, organized and professional. He exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend him!!

Jay truly helped to make our wedding such a beautiful and memorable day. He was extremely easy to speak to and be in touch with, and was also very professional. Also as important, his photographs of us and our wedding were amazing. My husband and I bought an album, canvas and acrylic from him and they are such a great way for us to remember our day. Stunning Pictures of our Special Day!
J was a delight to work with! When I was searching for a photographer, I really wanted one who was 1) affordable for our budget-friendly wedding and 2) could execute my vision of the day (rustic, bright, natural). My wedding had a pretty intense schedule but J was accommodating and helped advise what he thought would be best for us. I had a very clear and specific vision for the aesthetic of our pictures. J took in all of my inspirational pictures and descriptions of what I wanted and he really made sure to shoot and edit his photos to suit our vision. Our guests could tell he was very professional and great with timing (especially with 400+ people at our ceremony!). His photos were GORGEOUS. The lighting, the mood, the placement - everything fell into place. Because of our tight schedule we didn't get to take all the pictures we would've liked to (table photos, family portraits), however I am glad J advised us as we were planning to make sure we spent time actually enjoying the day. Even though we didn't get a picture with every guest, we enjoyed the day fully. Thankful to J for all his hard work!!
