Outstanding! The best wedding gift I gave to myself and husband!
one of the best decisions we made. From the start, janet was incredibly organized and easy to plan with. On the day of the wedding, I barely even noticed her—in the best possible way. She was completely self-directed, navigated everything seamlessly, and needed only minimal guidance.
Our guests absolutely loved it. So many people mentioned it to me afterward, commenting not only on the painting itself but also on her great energy—she was even dancing along to the music while she painted, which added such a fun, positive presence.
I originally did this as a gift for my husband, but I ended up loving it just as much. Everyone who walks into our home comments on the painting—it’s always a conversation piece. If you’re debating the option with edits, it is 100% worth it. She is very open to feedback and thoughtful about making changes.
I was initially hesitant because there are so many wedding “extras” that feel gimmicky, and I worried this might be one of them. It absolutely was not. It was one of the most meaningful and memorable additions to our wedding, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly. The best money spent. 0 regrets! -

Hello I used Janet for both of my stepdaughter's weddings and she is by far one of the best. I met her at another friend's wedding at the Plaza hotel and hired her immediately for our weddings. She is fun, personable and a pleasure to work with. She gets to know the family before hand and honors their requests on what they want in the photo. It is an absolute treasure to have your family preserved in the painting!! Janet is kind and so great to work with. I would hire her again!! -

We used Janet for our wedding to capture and create a piece of art live at our wedding in a unique way. She is very professional and has great communication to have an understanding of exactly what you’re looking for from her artwork. She gives you options of canvas sizing, what scene you’d love for her to paint and any important people she must include. She was able to paint my father into the picture who passed away a year before my wedding, which was so special and meaningful to me. We highly recommend using Janet for your wedding day. An Absolute Dream
One of our favorite parts of our wedding day was Janet and the moment that she brought to life for us in our painting. Janet arrived early and immediately begin setting the scene for our painting. She worked seamlessly throughout the entire night, and even took our painting home at the end of the night to perfect it. Our guests were mesmerized by her work, as were we. It was so fun to walk by Janet as she was working and see the moment of our first dance coming to life in her work. Her attention to detail is amazing — you can actually see our facial features in the painting. We are huge Disney fans, and she even put a few hidden mickeys in our painting. I would highly recommend Janet to anyone who is considering a live wedding painter. We can’t say enough good things about her and her work, and can’t wait to hang our painting in our home. -

Look no further if you need a wedding artist for that big day. Janet was so helpful in helping me decide what scene I wanted her to capture for our daughter's wedding. Our guests were mesmerized how a blank canvas was transformed during the course of the evening into this beautiful painting. The wedding was held in the grand ballroom of the Hudson House where she not only captured the venue perfectly but included some of the New York City skyline and even the Statue of Liberty. I can't wait until our daughter and son-in-law see it. I know they are going to be thrilled with the outcome. Janet was not only patient but professional when answering the many questions that the guests had. Breathtaking and worth every penny
Wow, so much to say about Janet and the painting she has created. I had two paintings, 1 of my husband and I, and the larger photo of our immediate family which included our two cats and my grandparents were are no longer with us. Absolutely breathtaking. The final product was everything and more. Janet responds immediately and provided so much support. The paintings were received and were wrapped and packaged so incredibly well. Hiring Janet was the best decision we made. Out of all the vendors you hire for your big day, aside from photography - there is nothing else you can take back and keep forever... except this!! Not only does it hit the "wow" factor for your guests, but it also is live entertainment during your event and it is a unique snapshot in time that you can keep forever. Every guest could not stop talking about the live painting, and couldn't believe how spot-on everyone was represented in the painting.
Janet herself is so delightful to work with and talk to - I feel like I could talk with her forever. She is so incredibly talented, and we feel so honored to have an original work by her. She truly captured the essence and love of our first dance, and even represented those we love the most celebrating us in the background. She even added in people who could not physically be there with us - grandparents who have since passed, and even our fur-baby Arnie! She even brought the painting back home to add some final touch-ups since we had a lot of people in our painting. It was an amazing experience, and I am already hoping to get another custom piece from her in the future. If you're on the fence, JUST HIRE HER ALREADY! -

I googled live painters and I came across a few but only picked one, Janet! She has an amazing hand, eye, and talent. She was able to paint our first dance at the wedding with a twist (having our parent dances in the background). It was a special gift for my husband representing the two people we hold close to our hearts, besides each other. She did a phenomenal job and I can’t wait to pick it up and hang it on our wall. Beautiful work and our guests loved it!
Janet was absolutely amazing! Not only is she extremely talented, but she is also so kind and cares about her clients. I enjoy painting in my free time, so I had a very specific image and style in mind that I wanted. When I found Janet's profile, I knew her style was exactly what I was looking for - she captures beautiful details and has an impressionist style. Her price was also very reasonable compared to other painters I reached out to. When I spoke with Janet on the phone, I instantly clicked with her. She completely understood my vision, offered great suggestions, and captured it better than I could have imagined. I initially booked a live painter mainly because i wanted a keepsake after the wedding. Not only did she deliver on that front, but she left my guests in awe! They really loved watching her paint - I had guests tell me they never saw a live painter before and thought she was the coolest vendor. She was stationed next to the main bar, so it gave our guests who weren't dancing something to enjoy watching and talk about. At the end of the night, Janet brings the paintings home to touch them up, but she accomplished so much during the night that everyone was able to see the progress and her talent. My husband was on the fence about booking a live painter because of the cost, but he now agrees it was 100% worth it. We were so happy with the final product, her work during the night, and her continued attentiveness and assistance even after our wedding was over. I would recommend Janet to any couple! -

I cannot put into words how amazing Janet is (even though I am going to try!). The best way to describe is simply to look at the stunningly beautiful painting she created of me and my husband during our first dance, one of the happiest moments of our lives (attached here). Not only is she insanely talented and professional, but she is a kind-hearted person that we are so grateful to have crossed paths with and she is super passionate about her work. She took the time to get to know my husband and I and she followed us on social media once we booked her, which definitely helped her get an idea on our energy and the vibe of our relationship. She surpassed our expectations with flying colors (LITERALLY!!! The ceiling in our painting in the Aurora Borealis because we mentioned to her that was a meaningful thing for us and we wanted her to feel free to add abstract elements!). Where do I start!? Janet was absolutely amazing in every way!! From our very first contact, Janet was so helpful and was so informative with her services and her process! Talented & Timeless!
Janet was seriously one of our best wedding vendors! She was so great to work with and provided us with the most perfect, timeless painting of our day. She was incredibly accommodating from allowing us to have a back-up option of our first dance in the event it rained during our ceremony and even provided the convenience of letting us pick the painting up from her before she worked another wedding on Long Island. Her talent really speaks for itself. Every detail on the painting was included from our little ring bearer to the beautiful sunset we had. Pictures of the painting are beautiful but in person it's truly breathtaking! Our guests LOVED watching the painting transform throughout the night and we've had so many people be like "OMG I made it into the painting" or "where did you find such a talented artist and unique wedding addition"! If you're thinking of doing a painting for your wedding, do it with Janet! You're in the best of hands. I hope we're able to work with her on other paintings in the future! -

Timeless Memory
We absolutely love our painting from our wedding day. Every time I look at it, I can picture everything about that moment - it's perfectly preserved for us. I look at our painting, and I can remember the way I felt, the way the room was lit by candles, the smell of cedar, excitement and love. It was also a treat to watch the painting progress throughout the night. At dinner, we were seated across from where Janet was working and each time we looked up, something new was added - like our dog Simba. The transformation was incredible to witness. The people in the painting came to life - and each of their personalities were brought onto the canvas. Janet even included my grandfather who had passed away along with my grandmother who could not attend because of Alzheimer's. She painted them both in the way that I choose to remember them by. We also benefited from having touch-up's added to our package. I was kicking myself after our wedding for just including family members and not my childhood best friend who is basically a sister. When we included touch-ups, adding additional people was not at all what I had in mind. So I am very glad we did this. It was also nice because at the end of the evening, we were not responsible for taking the painting safely home. This is something we will never forget. It was hands down one of the best decisions we made. We will cherish this forever. Janet, thank you for being a part of our wedding day memories. We can't thank you enough. -

The one thing that will stand out 50 years from now is how I felt seeing the painting come to life. I couldn’t believe how much the paintings look like us. It even FELT like us! The poses she captured at the church and reception are what I think about when I think about our day. Not only did she paint us to perfection, but she was able to capture THE moment to do so! It’s truly a remarkable piece of art to have for a life time not to include the overall excitement it adds to the day. Everyone enjoyed watching her work and still talks about it! They were so impressed as are we. Janet was also such a pleasure to work with. So down to earth, talented, and personable. Would 10/10 times would recommend using her! Run, don't walk, to Janet!
Janet is the absolute best! My husband and I recommend her with such great enthusiasm and cannot speak highly enough about her!
Not only is Janet's talent and professionalism unparalleled (more on that below), but she is nothing but a complete pleasure to deal with. She is approachable, warm, thoughtful, and caring - an all-around lovely person! She is also such a calming and supportive force. Planning a wedding is stressful. Throw a global pandemic and work woes into the mix, and the process often seemed too much to bear. Janet offered the kindest, most positive and optimistic words of encouragement (totally not part of her job description, she's just simply wonderful and goes above and beyond!). She is the best hype woman!
Janet is incredibly professional. She promptly and thoughtfully answered and addressed any and all questions and concerns we had. We did not have concerns, per se, rather we requested tweaks to an already beautiful painting! She was so receptive, and even thanked us for our feedback as she told us that her clients make the painting better if they have something they'd like for her to revisit. Additionally, she arrived at the venue on time.
There are just no words to describe Janet's talent. Her paintings are simply stunning. Her attention to detail is impeccable, the portraits of my family members are incredibly lifelike. And the colors - so vibrant and beautiful!

Backyard Party
Not only does Janet paint wedding memories, she can do anything. I hired Janet to paint a backyard party casual setting for my mom’s birthday. The painting is stunning. Not only did she capture everyone perfectly, she painted them in role (my son at the grill, me coming down the stairs). She even put our 3 dogs in. The best part was she added in my brother who passed 11 years ago as part of a tree looking down at us. We love it! Janet was a pleasure to work with for our wedding and I cannot recommend her more highly. I searched many live painters for our wedding but was instantly attracted to Janet’s vibrant style, realistic detail and overall quality of her work. She was very available by email and phone to answer our many questions and was more than eager to work with us to capture the perfect moment of our wedding. We desired to capture our first dance with a lively, fun, celebration theme, with our family surrounding us, and Janet’s painting depicted just that. She was the highlight of the wedding with guests consistently going over to follow the progress throughout the night. Working with Janet was absolutely magical! She was such a pleasure to work with, she was kind, professional, passionate, and so talented. Janet was amazing- from start to finish! Getting a live painter for my wedding was something I pinned a long time ago so when I was on the search of looking for one, I wanted something different from just a regular photograph that anyone could take. I sifted through a few artists and when I found Janet, I really liked her work. The way she captured the beautiful background, set the scene with the lighting and time of day, and how she portrayed the couple really caught my attention. I also liked that Janet grew up in the same city as me :). In speaking with her, I could tell she was genuinely into getting my story and what my vision was for my painting. It was such an easy process interacting with Janet during a stressful time. Her calm voice definitely helps haha! She checked in with her detailed questionnaire a month before, emailed back and forth with more questions and suggestions, met during cocktail hour to get some pictures just in case..wonderful communication. I absolutely love the work of art she created from the best day of my life. Janet took my requests of the NYC skyline, the details in my venue, my giant bridal party and our fancy dip pose and took it beyond my expectations. I’m in awe staring at it as I write this review. Even meeting up with her to pick up the painting a month later was smooth sailing! So don’t delay in booking Janet because she’s great! -

Amazing experience !
From the moment I discovered that live oil painting vendors even exist I knew it was something I HAD to have the day of my wedding. Janet was the first vendor I booked after choosing my venue. From the first time I reached out to Janet she was extremely responsive , professional and personable . She addressed all questions and was so easy to work with . The day of the wedding I was so excited to meet her, we chatted before the guests came into the ballroom and had already started painting the room . She is so wonderful and talented. Fantastic painting of the evening!!!! Janet did a wonderful job, all of my guests enjoyed watching her painting and it was such a wonderful conversation among the guests . This painting was a little surprise for my husband, his parents both passed away. But with working with Janet; I was able to send her a picture of them and she included them in the painting. Truly a beautiful painting and will last a lifetime, worth every penny!!! Highly recommended -

I came across at least 5 painters when searching for one for my wedding, and I am thrilled that I picked Live Event Painting by Janet Howard-Fatta! One of the first things that drew me to Janet's page were the style and quality of her paintings. Her paintings are calm to the eye and she captures the important details in a live painting. Amazing work!
Janet is such a sweetheart and a very talented artist! She created TWO lovely paintings for our ceremony and reception. All the guests were seriously impressed, and it gave a unique touch to our wedding! Janet is very easy to work with, great with communication, and took the time to understand the style we wanted. We didn't have to wait long for the finished paintings either. I talked to many event painters, and Janet is one of the more experienced artists and her prices are reasonable. We can't wait to hang up the paintings in our new home! (Still amazed she was able to do 2 in one night!) Thank you Janet! -

Amazing Work
Janet was actually a secret wedding gift from family who we were SO lucky to have at our wedding. Janet sat quietly in the corner of the reception room and guests were just fascinated by her work all night. It's quite amazing how she captured our first dance as well as all the important people in the wedding in her painting. Janet was also kind and pleasant to work with- she was prompt in communication and was mindful and proactive about mailing the final product about a month later. We truly enjoyed having Janet and her work just speaks for itself. Cannot recommend enough! -

The best decision ever!
There are no words to express how amazing Janet is! She was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. Reasonably priced for such a truly spectacular gift. We had the most wonderful wedding and I surprised my now husband with the live action painting. It may have been a surprise for my husband but it is truly a gift for both of us. To this day I have many guests and friends who have seen pictures of our wedding state how unique it was to have Janet there. Following our wedding she took the painting to make it absolutely perfect and even change a few things per my request before she personally shipped it. We LOVE our painting. It is perfect and we cannot offer a higher recommendation. -

Amazing Experience & Best Investment We Could Have Made
We decided to get an event painting instead of Getting a video - and hands down was the best decision we could have made for our wedding. Janet came highly recommended by one of her peers - and I am SO glad we found her. She is beyond a pleasure to work with. Having a video done Very professional and takes great care to get to know her clients and get a feel for what they want in their paintings. We spoke in detail on the phone for almost 45 minutes about what the painting should look and feel like, whom we wanted pictured, and what was important to us in the painting. Our guests really loved seeing her paint, and loved interacting with her as well. She gets there early to start the background and by the end of the night the painting was mostly done. She takes it home to finish final touches; because she genuinely wants it to be a perfect depiction of your special event / day - and her work really is and does speak for itself. I would recommend her to anyone I know that is getting married - and not only that - really encourage them to get a live painter if they weren’t considering it (using Janet of course). My wedding day would not have been the same without her, and I now have a timeless beautiful painting of the day in my living room that not only we can enjoy every day; but our friends and family can enjoy when they come over also. -

Cristina Sent on 06/13/2018I found the idea of hiring a live wedding painter online, and initially was on the fence about it. When I found Janet’s page and saw her previous work I fell in love. I looked into pricing, and her pricing was comparable to other event painters I had looked into. We had a tight budget as it was, but we decided to make it work and go forward with booking her for our wedding and I am truly so so glad that we did! We loved working with Janet, five stars doesn’t feel like enough! Communication was always easy and she responded very quickly to any questions I had leading up to the wedding. She traveled to us from out of state. She arrived to our wedding reception early in the day to start painting the room and then painted our first dance. She was such a hit at our wedding reception-our guests LOVED watching her paint and almost a month later our guests are still talking about how wonderful of an idea it was to have a live wedding painting, how awesome she was, and what a wonderful job she did. Aside from the actual wedding ceremony, Janet painting our first dance was a definite favorite of ours and the guests alike! We received our final painting in the mail and it is so beautiful-we love it more than I could have imagined that we would. We can recognize so many people in the painting, including our son which makes it even that much more special. Having a piece of art like this is such a perfect and unique keepsake from one of the most special days of our lives, and we will cherish it forever. I would recommend her without a doubt-she is worth every penny and then some!

Brittany Sent on 12/20/2017When my mom told me about hiring a live painter for my wedding I wasn't convinced, but after seeing Janet work and the crowd that she drew during the wedding I was sold, and even more so when we received our painting in the mail.. I am OBSESSED with it! What I loved about Janet during the time that she was painting is that she took the time to come up to me and asked me for my opinion on what scene I wanted her to paint from pictures that she had taken, and also when guests approached her, she took the time to talk to them, rather then ignoring them and just handing them a business card. The detail that Janet put into the painting you can definitely tell that it is my husband and I and I love the little details that she included that you wouldn't even think of. The painting has been one of the most talked about features of my wedding and my parents and I think it was definitely money well spent!! I would recommend Janet to everyone and anyone looking to hire a live painter for their wedding or event!

From the moment I contacted her, she worked with me to answer all my questions, describe what she does and the process, and make sure her plan for our painting was exactly what we envisioned. Everyone at our wedding told us that they loved watching the painting unfold throughout the night, and that Janet was so lovely to chat with as she was painting. Janet worked on the painting to perfect it after our wedding was over, and then shipped it to us when it was finished. We could not be more pleased with the finished product. She captured our two families perfectly, and her work is so superb. Janet did not miss a single detail, down to the small details of what we were wearing, and the facial expressions of us and our families. The painting is truly a work of art, and is now one of our most treasured items. We hung it up within minutes of receiving it, and we love looking at it everyday. We cannot recommend Janet enough.
