When the venue pulled out of providing our wedding cake somewhat late in the wedding planning, I quickly reached out to about 10 cake bakers in the Atlanta area. Jeanine's husband had a serious health event the week I contacted her; she still reached out more quickly than many of the others with an apology (not even necessary!) for how long it took. I knew she would be a pleasure to coordinate with and she absolutely was from start to finish. Then, we received her sample box and the cake was TO DIE FOR. All of the options were so moist, fresh and flavorful. We settled on a lemon cake with lemon buttercream icing and some raspberry flavoring in the middle. It was seriously one of the best cakes I've ever tasted and we received many compliments on it. Jeanine and her husband also took great care setting it up beautifully on our cake platter and with the accent flowers provided by our florist. I look forward to ordering any special event cakes in our future from It Takes the Cake! -

Amazing cake!
Jeanine is amazing to work with. From the very start, she worked with me to make sure I had everything that I wanted for my wedding cake. On my wedding day, our beautiful cake was delivered and Jeanine carefully placed flowers around the cake and our cake topper. Our cake looked better than the pictures that I sent her. We ordered a larger cake and expected to have leftovers but that did not happen! Guests raved about the moist texture and some came back for seconds. At the end of the night, we were lucky we saved the top layer of the cake for our one year anniversary or else that would have been eaten too!! Thank you so much for everything! -

It Takes the Cake was an absolute dream to work with. Jeanine went above and beyond to make sure that our vision came to fruition on our wedding day. Originally, I intended to only have our main cake made here. The process and Jeanine's lovely personality and disposition made us immediately decide to also get our groom's cake made here too. We did not regret our decision. The cakes were gorgeous and knock-your-socks off good. The cake became a buzz at the wedding and our guests were fighting to take the leftovers home. We love this vendor and insist you work with them for your events. -

"it's too pretty to eat". The cake was a hit with everyone and delicious! We will definitely keep Jeanine at the top of the list for our cake needs. We have recommended her often to others and will continue to do so. Great company to work with.

She made each layer a different one of her favorite flavors. This cake was moist, very flavorful and beautiful too! Jeanine is such a kind and thoughtful person as well as a talented artist. I highly recommend this business!

Faeza Sent on 11/28/2017My husband and I don't live in Georgia but we found Jeanine online and could not have been happier with the beautiful cake she did for our Atlanta wedding. She was always very prompt and helpful in all her email correspondence and I felt like she really listened to my ideas and vision for the wedding cake while also giving helpful suggestions based on her expertise and experience. She was also very accommodating with the tasting and dropped off delicious cupcakes on the one weekend that we both were in town. On the big day, the cake was as beautiful as it was tasty and arrived with no hitches at all. There were lots of things I had to worry about for my wedding but Jeanine's cake from It Takes the Cake was not one of them. I highly recommend her for weddings or any other event.

Patti Sent on 11/17/2017Delicious cakes made by It Takes The Cake! People were going back for seconds and both cakes were completely gone. The groom's cake was chocolate with Reeses Peanut Butter. OH MY GOSH! It was the best cake I've ever eaten! I might add that I'm the bride's grandma and have definitely eaten my share of wedding cakes over the years. lol

My son who recently graduated from Marine Corp Boot camp was home in Panama City, Florida for 10 days for his wedding before moving on to his training schools. It was important to me for his grooms cake to reflect him and his most recent accomplishments. I thought what better way then to have a cake shaped like the Dress Cover he would be wearing with his uniform. I did some research and made contact with It Takes the Cake after getting several recommendations and seeing the beautiful work that was created by them. I sent an email and photos of my idea and they were happy to help.
Them being in Georgia and I in Florida I was pleased with their fast response and even willingness to take this on and DELIVERED it also.
The Cake was just as I had imagined and more. Everyone raved about the appearance and how real the cover looked. The details were amazing. Right down to the Eagle Globe & Anchor buttons. Many thought it was a real hat a top the cake and was shocked when I told them it was actually editable. My son absolutely loved it!

Meghan Sent on 11/15/2017I absolutely adored my cakes from Jeanine! I got a lingerie cake from her for my lingerie shower and it blew me away. It turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined! She did my wedding cake as well and it was perfect. It was exactly what I wanted and absolutely beautiful. And it tasted amazing! We picked a different flavor for each of the 3 layers of the cake, and there was not a crumb left at the wedding because all our guests wanted a slice of each flavor. Everyone raved on Facebook about how good the cake was. I will be using her in the future for sure whenever I need another cake :)

Karen Sent on 10/21/2011Jeanine made both our wedding cake and the grooms cake.
The wedding cake was exactly what we asked for, I got many compliments on the flavors (orange creamsicle and lemon tiers).
The grooms cake was inspired by the armadillo cake from Steel Magnolias (red velvet) and it looked amazing, people recognized it right away as "That cake from that movie!"
We had 100 guests and 2 cakes; we only brought home a few slices, everyone went back for seconds!
I will go to It Takes The Cake for any event when I need a special cake. -
