It Takes The Cake is a professional cake bakery based in Lawrenceville, Georgia. We have been part of the wedding industry since 2008, delivering delicious cakes throughout the Metro area including Duluth, Johns Creek, Peachtree Corners, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Downtown Atlanta, and North Georiga. Our bakery specializes in custom-decorated wedding cakes, edible-art, and carved cakes for all occasions. We are a fully licensed, inspected, and insured Georgia Cottage Bakery which means we don't have a store front. We love the idea of helping every couple make their celebration fun and memorable, and since we are a Cottage Bakery we only take a few cakes at a time enabling us to give you a more personal experience.

Best Wedding Cake, Amazing Business Experience

When the venue pulled out of providing our wedding cake somewhat late in the wedding planning, I quickly reached out to about 10 cake bakers in the Atlanta area. Jeanine's husband had a serious health event the week I contacted her; she still reached out more quickly than many of the others with an apology (not even necessary!) for how long it took. I knew she would be a pleasure to coordinate with and she absolutely was from start to finish. Then, we received her sample box and the cake was TO DIE FOR. All of the options were so moist, fresh and flavorful. We settled on a lemon cake with lemon buttercream icing and some raspberry flavoring in the middle. It was seriously one of the best cakes I've ever tasted and we received many compliments on it. Jeanine and her husband also took great care setting it up beautifully on our cake platter and with the accent flowers provided by our florist. I look forward to ordering any special event cakes in our future from It Takes the Cake!

Perfect Cakes

Never has a cake that looks so beautiful tasted just as good as it looks until this one! SO glad we went with It Takes The Cake!! Delicious and perfect design.

Amazing cake!

Jeanine is amazing to work with. From the very start, she worked with me to make sure I had everything that I wanted for my wedding cake. On my wedding day, our beautiful cake was delivered and Jeanine carefully placed flowers around the cake and our cake topper. Our cake looked better than the pictures that I sent her. We ordered a larger cake and expected to have leftovers but that did not happen! Guests raved about the moist texture and some came back for seconds. At the end of the night, we were lucky we saved the top layer of the cake for our one year anniversary or else that would have been eaten too!! Thank you so much for everything!

Knock Your Socks Off Good...

It Takes the Cake was an absolute dream to work with. Jeanine went above and beyond to make sure that our vision came to fruition on our wedding day. Originally, I intended to only have our main cake made here. The process and Jeanine's lovely personality and disposition made us immediately decide to also get our groom's cake made here too. We did not regret our decision. The cakes were gorgeous and knock-your-socks off good. The cake became a buzz at the wedding and our guests were fighting to take the leftovers home. We love this vendor and insist you work with them for your events.

I have had several cakes and cupcakes made from "It Takes A Cake To Make The Party". The cakes and cupcakes were for a baptism and several birthdays. I was always pleased with the outcome. Jeanine is a fantastic artist and her cakes/cupcakes show it. The cakes/cupcakes didn't last long at our events after everyone marveled at the design they then devoured the cake/cupcakes up - they are that delicious. I have had several cakes from It Takes The Cake. Every time, they are show stoppers. If you want a WOW cake, go with Jeanine. She is THE best hands down!!!

If you are looking for an amazing, unique cake that you would regret having to cut into if it weren’t so delicious, then do yourself a favor and go with “It takes the cake.” We got so many compliments on the cake we ordered; it was the perfect addition to our celebration!

The owner was sweet saw the vision and executed it. I was in a bind and she help me and delivered the cake on time to me. It was a surprise to my husband it was two red boxing gloves calling him the champ. She is amazing with such a God Gift talent and the icing fondue on top was delissh it was not cake left. And the important thing is the cakes were very moist. I would recommend her to anyone such professionalism and on time.

My experience with It Takes The Cake was AMAZING! It was so easy getting ahold of her, as well as receiving the cake... not to mention the cake was absolutely delicious & very creative with how she made it all come together! THANK YOU for making my wedding that much more amazing!
