Iron City Best Venue

We recently hosted my daughter’s wedding reception at Iron City and could not have been happier with the entire process. From the planning stage to the big day the staff did everything we could have expected and more. Communication, food, service and support of our band was amazing.
We have received rave reviews for this venue from our friends and family. Perfection!!!!

Iron City was a dream!

Iron City, Kendall, and her team were AMAZING. I cannot talk enough about how flexible, calm, helpful, and truly fantastic they were. Our private meal was amazing, all the guests were well taken care of, and Kendall took all of our visions and made them come true! Highly recommend as a venue. The food was also FANTASTIC

Friendly, professional and fun!

The best wedding reception venue we have ever been to!! Terrific people, terrific food, terrific venue...all of our guests enjoyed themselves! Michelle was so helpful during the planning stage and Chef Ian and his staff know how to create a great menu. Highly recommend them.

Greatest venue ever!

We absolutely adore Iron City, and we are so glad we chose this venue for our wedding. The place has a ton of room, so we had both our ceremony and reception there! Michelle and the IC team are extremely helpful, and made the whole process super easy for us. Another plus is that Iron City has a restaurant, so all the food you need is already at the venue. They also have a full bar with multiple options that fit any budget! Iron City has a beautiful modern feel with brick walls throughout, so it can’t be dressed up or down according to anyone’s taste. Highly recommend this venue for wedding ceremonies, receptions, corporate parties, or any other event you need!

Great experience and team

We got married at Iron City in November after about 2 months of planning. Michelle and the entire Iron City team made the process so easy and were there to help in every way! Both ceremony and reception were perfection! Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had, how easy things were on them, and how great the good and service was. Best thing we did for our wedding was book at Iron City! :)

Iron City is Amazing Venue

Everything was perfect and we have talked about how wonderfully trained all the staff is and how very professionally all our wishes were incorporated into that one fabulous night! From our first meeting to the send off of bride and groom, we enjoyed working with you so much! Encourage future brides to order extra late night bites because her guests will be having so much fun they’ll all stay til the end!
The food was excellent! Plentiful and very delicious. I can’t say enough good things about Michelle, the staff, and everyone at Iron City! Wish we could do it all again! Highly recommend. I rave about Iron City and our friends are still talking about what a fun and great venue! -MOB

Iron City is an AMAZING venue! We knew from the moment we walked in that it would be perfect for our crowd (they love to dance)! The icing on the cake (no pun intended) is getting to work with Michelle and all the staff at Iron City. They are beyond caring and genuine and go above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect. From the amazing lighting and marquee, to the friendly bartenders, to the delicious food...you are sure to have a most memorable evening celebrating at Iron City!

If you are looking for a wedding venue that will wow your guests with the party of a lifetime, then look no further than Iron City Bham! For the ceremony, having the bridal party on stage with seating on the dance floor and the main level, there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The team was able to flip the room in a quick and smooth way that didn't disrupt the flow of the evening and allowed our guests to enjoy cocktail hour and gave Stephen and I the opportunity to enjoy a private dinner. The layout of the large dance floor, the stage equipped with professional AV and the horseshoe-shaped bar was the perfect combination for our guests to enjoy themselves at the reception.

We have to say a big thanks to Michelle and her team for helping make our special day one we will never forget.

I can’t say enough about this venue. It was PERFECT for our ceremony and reception. Everyone loved the food! The staff was incredible and made sure everything was just how we wanted it. Arielle was our “day of” coordinator through Iron City, but she was so much more. She went above and beyond for months leading up to the wedding. We had the perfect venue and she and her team were an added blessing. I can’t thank her enough. They were there every step of the way from ordering our linens for us to making sure my groom and I had food for us in our hotel room at the end of the night. Arielle even came to our rehearsal at a different venue (which she did not have to do). They truly care about their brides.

We had a wonderful wedding experience working with Michelle and the whole Iron City team. The event space is beautiful, and the catering menu has so many tasty options. Our guests kept telling us how delicious the food was! I would highly recommend this venue for any event, but especially a wedding and/or reception.

Iron City was an absolutely amazing venue for our wedding and reception. The building itself has a natural beauty that gives great life to the space. The space itself allowed us to flow from ceremony to cocktails to dinner and dancing for >150 people in a spacious yet intimate space. Asides from the marriage itself, the best part of Iron City was working with Michelle. From the initial walkthrough to the day of, Michelle and her team put so much effort into helping make your wedding dreams come to life. Michelle and her assistant Arielle are a dynamic duo that made the entire planning process and day of shenanigans completely stress-free. If you want a wedding with great food, local brews, historical charm, and options to meet any and all budgets then give Michelle a call. I can’t recommend this venue highly enough!

Iron City was the perfect venue for our wedding reception! From the initial stages all the way through the day of Michelle was such a professional, easy to work with/communicate with and she ensured that every detail was perfect for us. After our first meeting with Michelle, we left feeling 100% confident that Iron City/Michelle are event coordinating professionals which allowed us to enjoy the wedding planning process even more! The hardest part about our food tasting with Iron City was that we loved EVERYTHING! And on our wedding day, the food was just as AMAZING as it was in the tasting! We got so many compliments about the food, the staff and the venue as a whole from our guests. We could not be happier that we chose Iron City as our reception venue!

We had the most fun wedding reception I could imagine at Iron City! Michelle, the event coordinator, helped us so much along the way with tips about the sound for the band, the bar package, how to balance out a good menu, and so much more. She helped bring my ideas into fruition! The flow of the reception was wonderful with many different options for how you can set up your food, cakes, and tables. Our guests also loved the upstairs area where you could watch all of the fun but also have a little break from the loudness downstairs. They told me at the beginning of our planning that they had never had a boring reception there, and they did not disappoint! We would 100% choose Iron City again as our reception venue.

Our reception at Iron City was the BEST thing I could have possibly imagined. Michelle, the event coordinator was the best to work with and SO on top of every detail. She made it so easy! The food was absolutely amazing and everyone raved about it. We have had countless guests call us raving about what a perfect venue Iron City was! I could not imagine my reception anywhere else.

Iron City was an AMAZING venue for our wedding and reception. It exceeded our exceptions in every category. Iron City has a great space that allows for a large wedding guest list, a cocktail hour where our guests could enjoy drinks and appetizers while the main area was flipped from wedding to reception, and spacious dance floor while still offering plenty of high boy tables and seating. Michelle and her assistant Arielle are total wedding pros. They did everything to ensure our wedding day ran smoothly from the rehearsal the day beforehand to the sparkler exit at the end of the night. During our food tasting, we personally met the chef who made recommendations to ensure our whole guest list would be satisfied on our budget. As you can see, each aspect of Iron City is built for your perfect wedding venue. I could not recommend this venue highly enough!

Everything at Iron City was perfect - from the amazing event planner (Michelle) who did an absolutely amazing job (and made me way less stressed planning my own wedding), to the food, to the cool space. My daughter’s wedding was at Iron City on March 3, 2018 and it was perfect! My daughter and now son-in-law mentioned Iron City as a possible reception location months before the engagement. When it was time to select a venue, there were only a few places in town that could accommodate our anticipated party of 300-350 and also be inside. After talking with Michelle we knew we would be in good hands. We planned the wedding ourselves from out of town and obtained top quality vendors from Michelle’s recommendations. Michelle gave us great advice on table layout, food and many other topics. She answered all emails quickly and was so easy to work with. Although we had a large group, Iron City did not feel crowded and looked amazing. Our guests also utilized the upstairs balcony which still allowed great views of all activities. On the day before the wedding we dropped off all the decorations, such as pictures, napkins, sparklers, and koozies and Michelle and her team set them up. The wedding was at a local church and when I walked in to Iron City afterwards everything looked better than I could have imagined. During the evening Michelle and team handled everything flawlessly. I did nothing but enjoy the evening visiting family and friends, celebrating the couple and have I said the food was amazing? Everyone loved the mac and cheese bar and sliders. The downtown concert vibe was a perfect match for my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding and I am exceptionally thrilled with how Michelle and all the Iron City team helped plan and execute their wedding vision.

Planning a wedding as an out-of-town bride could have been wildly stressful and daunting, but with the A++ work and coordination by Michelle and her team at Iron City, I worried about 0% of what was happening leading up to and the day of our wedding. I cannot recommend this venue enough! My husband and I live in Arlington, VA, and made only 3 trips to Bham in advance of the wedding. It was clear from our first meeting with Michelle that she was extremely professional, cool and collected and those were the vibes that we wanted from a venue and coordinator. All of her vendor recs were on point and she was flexible, knowledgeable, direct and accessible. The actual day of the wedding was such a whirlwind and when we arrived at Iron City and saw Michelle waiting for us at the back door, we couldn't have been more relieved. Everything was perfect, our guests had an amazing time and couldn't stop talking about the venue, the band (Papa Sol, who Michelle recommended) and the mac n' cheese bar! My husband and I are still talking about how perfect our wedding day was and how we wish we could do it all over again. Michelle even made our dreams of having Tequila shots served on the dance floor during the band's rendition of "Tequila" a reality! For a wedding size of 150+ this is the perfect venue. Thanks to Michelle and the team at Iron City, we'll have the most wonderful memories to share for the rest of our lives.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Iron City Birmingham as our wedding venue. The venue has a cool urban vibe which is what Gehrig and I wanted. When we went for our first visit, we met Michelle Langdon. She was amazing to work with. She was available and quickly responded to any questions or concerns throughout the planning process, in person, by email or phone calls. There is plenty of space for guests. The bridal party has lots of room to relax separately and to get ready for the ceremony. It snowed on Friday Dec 8th, the day before our event. Michelle was on the phone checking in with us. She helped keep what could have been a stressful situation, calm. Even with the weather issues Friday, on Saturday Dec 9th, the wedding went off without a hitch. We were able to get our vendors in on time. Michelle was also our day of coordinator. We could not have been in better hands. The food is excellent. More than one guest commented on how delicious everything was. We choose as part of our menu the Southern Macaroni and Cheese Bar. Guests raved over it. We were able to have the intimate ceremony we wanted and quickly transitioned to the party mood for the reception. The sound system is great. The wedding was beautiful and everything we wanted it to be. Every employee we encountered whether it was a scheduled visit or spur of the moment was helpful and easy to work with. We are so happy to have our wedding at Iron City Birmingham and highly recommend this venue.

This was the perfect place for our wedding. The venue is fantastic. The food was amazing! We really need to get downtown to eat more often. We will definitely be back to eat at the Grill. Michelle and her team coordinated everything well and helped to keep us on track. She is very easy to work with. It was wonderful getting to work with her for the reception as overall I was planning my entire wedding right down to even making my own centerpieces. I truly didn't need a coordinator otherwise. If if had to choose a venue all over again, I definitely would go with Iron City again. Our guests raved about the venue and food. All of my expectations were met ten fold! I can't wait to see the video and pictures!

Our wedding reception could not have been more perfect at Iron City! From our initial meeting to the day of, Michelle made us feel organized and confident in her abilities to coordinate the perfect day for us. It felt like we had a member of our family coordinating the reception. There was nothing Michelle couldn't do for us and she was so upbeat and excited every time we spoke with her. Her response time beats all other venues which is so important especially close to the day of. This is the perfect location for any large wedding. There is ample space for guests to roam and enjoy their time. The food is impeccable and my guests are still talking about how unique the venue is. If I could do it over, I would absolutely choose Iron City for my event every time. Thank you Michelle and staff - you guys were AMAZING!

Iron City is an exceptional wedding venue in all respects, including the space itself, the food, and most importantly Michelle and the entire staff. The space is versatile; we had both our ceremony and reception there, and both were beautiful. Everybody who works at Iron City is hyper-competent, calm, responsive, and helpful. We did not have a wedding planner and we don’t live anywhere near Birmingham, and we had absolutely no problems. This is due, in large part, to how fantastic Michelle is. She’s smart, responsive, direct, honest, and – it bears repeating– calm. The day of the wedding, we had no worries, because Michelle was on top of everything. If you choose Iron City as your venue, you will not regret it!

Best experience I could ever ask for! My husband and I had our wedding reception here in June 2017 and it was everything we could have ever asked for. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything organized and taken care of before the big day so we have minimal stress while trying to enjoy our time together and with our guests on our wedding day. The food was amazing and we got so many compliments on the reception as a whole. The staff was also very helpful with piecing everything together to fit the vision that I had for my wedding reception. I would highly recommend Iron City as a wedding reception venue!

We had our reception at Iron City and we couldn’t have made a better choice. We were looking for somewhere fun and unique in the city with space that could accommodate 150 people for a seated meal, a sizeable dance floor and a large band. Iron City has all of those things and more. The food is genuinely delicious (we had a hard time narrowing down the appetizers, entrees and sides because everything really was that good). And the bar selection can’t be beat, with open bar packages including your normal variety liquor offerings but also a variety of beers on tap (including local offerings) that several other venues we toured just didn’t offer.

Michelle, who runs the wedding stuff at Iron City was super easy to work with, answered our million questions and helped us the whole time along the way. Their chef participated in the tasting and was super nice and knowledgeable and overall the whole staff was a joy to work with. I was a little nervous going into the reception about the seated portion of the dinner (serving a meal to 150 people smoothly) but their staff was on top of it, clearing plates quickly when people were finished, keeping the dinner running smoothly and on track.

Again, can’t recommend Iron City more! We toured 15 places and this was above and beyond the best reception spot for what we were looking for.

Our wedding was AMAZING at IRON CITY! Such a great venue and staff. Michelle, the event coordinator, does goes out of her way to make sure that you are getting exactly what you want, and she genuinely cares! I cannot say enough great things about this entire staff. HIGHLY recommend this venue! The food was absolutely delicious, too! We truly had our dream wedding!

Iron City was a great venue for our reception. They were so accommodating with everything, from food and drinks to guests and photographers. They host large events often as a concert venue, so they were very relaxed on our day. All of our guests had a great time. They were all very impressed with the options available in the beer and wine package. The groomsmen loved getting ready in the bands' dressing room upstairs. Our private meal before entering the reception was wonderful, and the service was second to none.

I got married on October 22 at Iron City and it was absolutely perfect! We had our ceremony and reception there which worked out great. Everything from the venue, the food, and the staff was amazing! Leading up to the wedding Ashley Gonzalez, one of Iron City's event planners, helped me with absolutely everything you can think of. This was just an added plus to all the other wonderful features this venue had to offer. Especially since I wasn't hiring an event planner and had no clue how to plan a wedding (I thought I had a clue, but I was very wrong). A lot goes into the planning of your big day and Ashley was on top of it every step of the way. Our wedding day would have been chaotic if I had tried doing it on my own without Ashley and her awesome helper, Becca. So to say I was thankful for Ashley's help is an understatement. She went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly leading up to the wedding and the day of the wedding! If anything did go wrong I still have no clue about it because it was the best day ever. My husband and I are so happy we chose Iron City as our venue. The atmosphere of the venue and staff there is truly incredible.

We had our reception at Iron City, the space is absolutely incredible, and there's so much that you can do with the space to make it your own! There are so many good food options to choose from, and the food was so delicious! Michelle was wonderful to work with, and we are so glad that we chose to have our reception at Iron City!

What a fabulous venue for our daughter's wedding reception! From day one of meeting with Michelle, I knew Iron City was the PERFECT place to celebrate with family and friends! Michelle was not only professional, knowledgeable, organized and able to answer ALL of my questions, she was fun and genuinely excited about our event. She goes the extra mile to make you feel special! The layout of the space had an easy flow...plenty of seating for all of our guests, yet encourages people to mingle...and that makes for a FUN night! Chef William and his staff prepared a delicious assortment of food items that our guests are still talking about...especially the Mac and Cheese station! The servers and wait staff were courteous and attentive. Outstanding bar service...you guys rocked! Fantastic job from the lighting and sound crew making the dance floor THE place to be! We had guests from sixteen different states and they all had the "Wow Factor" from Birmingham's own Iron City! The Lucy/Bettencourt families did not want the night to end...it was just that good! Thank you Michelle and everyone at Iron City for exceeding all our expectations! Much love to you ALL!

Iron City was the perfect place for our wedding! The space was perfect for the large number of guests that we had and the different levels made it excellent to separate those that wanted to dance the night away from those that wanted to relax. Michelle was the perfect host. She kept us informed of everything, worked with our planner, set up tastings and was at the event to keep a watchful eye and wish us well. She is a great ambassador for such a perfect venue! The manned sound and lighting station is an excellent compliment to the band and made the dance floor even more fun with flashing lights that changed colors. The Marquee sign with our names on it was the perfect welcome for all of our family and friends! The food was THE BEST! My guests are still raving about all of the delicious-ness. We could not have chosen a more perfect place for our perfect day! It has the best blend of rustic and elegant. I would definitely recommend Iron City for any event!

I loved the idea of having a reception in a music hall as it is accommodating to a large band, open dance floor, and people of all ages. The floorplan is great for guests to hang out at the bar, dance the night away, or watch from the above balcony. This venue has a lot of experience in what it takes to pull off a large wedding reception. This was evident on the evening of our wedding as Iron City's staff made the night so care free for us. My husband and I were able to live in and enjoy every moment without worry. I can say the same thing of my parents who were also able to relax as Michelle and my wedding planner handled any and all business that needed to take place throughout the night. I would strongly recommend Iron City to future brides as you can take comfort in knowing that the details of your big day will be in good hands.

Iron City was AMAZING!! We had our wedding & reception there, and everything was perfect. Michelle, event coordinator, was fabulous and really helped me have everything I wanted to ensure it was my dream wedding. I could not have imagined a better, more perfect venue for my wedding!! Not only was the space perfect, but the staff could not have been more helpful. Michelle is amazing to work with, and I felt like I made a new friend along the way! She was always responsive to emails and calls. She worked with us and our vendors perfectly. There wasn't anything that we requested that they didn't help accommodate. Our guests had a blast, and one of our friends' from New York made a comment that he felt like he was in the fanciest venue in NYC! I cannot thank Iron City enough for helping create the most beautiful, fun night I could have ever imagined!!

My husband and I have both of our daughters married and used Iron City for both wedding receptions! I can’t speak highly enough of Michelle Langdon and her staff who helped everything go off without a hitch. The food was delicious and there was plenty of room for the guests to mix and mingle without having to move to different rooms, as is the case for other venues. The acoustics were perfect for both bands, (after all it is a music venue). Everyone went out of their way to make sure that we were happy with every facet of the receptions. I was a little sad when the last daughter married in February because I knew we couldn’t have another reception there.....I know I’m CRAZY! All of this to say, my family and I think it’s the best venue in Birmingham.

the BEST wedding venue out there! If you want you day to be absolutely fabulous and everything you've dreamed of, go visit Iron City Birmingham and Michelle Langdon. From the moment we looked at the venue Michelle helped me with every detail. I loved visiting with her to plan out my reception from the flower and linen detail to the food.. Michelle had all the answers. She was an amazing person to work with, not to mention super organized and sweet. Something that was a must for me in wedding planning! My husband and I were able to enjoy every minute of our reception and not worry about a thing. Michelle and the Iron City staff took care of everything. It is the unique venue that I was looking for. It is elegant and timeless with a modern rustic feel. We had a little over 400 at the reception and there was no complaint about it being too crowded. There is plenty of room for everyone. They have plenty of areas for people to sit or for those that like to be in the action on the dance floor. Everyone had a place! Every guest that I talked to at the wedding and after raved about how amazing Iron City was. From the food to the bar service, everyone was very impressed. If you choose Iron City your guests will not be let down and neither will you! Iron City brought my dreams to life for my wedding day and it was more than I could have ever imagined. I am always looking forward to going to more events here! Book Iron City for your wedding and/or reception.. You won't be disappointed!

We had our daughter’s wedding reception at Iron City and we think it is the best venue in Birmingham. Michelle Langdon is great to work with and met with us numerous times to work out details, not to mention the countless emails and she was always very accommodating and patient. The entire staff was fabulous the night of the reception. Iron City has a great selection of food and we had many complements on the quality of the food as well as the presentation. One of the best things about the place is the stage. It’s not some temporary thing thrown together like you would see at some of the ballroom venues. It is a professional stage that sits up high off the floor and they have an exceptional sound system. The band we had was excited when we told them that Iron City would be our venue because of the great the sound system. There are also a lot of video screens there that you can have your slide shows playing on. We had many of our friends tell us that the reception was one of the best and most fun ones they have ever been too. We highly recommend Iron City for a wedding reception.

I can't recommend Iron City enough! The venue is beautiful and the staff was spot on! The coordinator, Michelle, and her staff were so helpful. Iron City was amazing. From the moment I stepped inside I knew it was the perfect place for my wedding reception. The venue itself is beautiful and the staff is amazing. On wedding day I did not have to worry about a thing from arrival at 10am to exit at 10pm they handled everything. They contacted my vendors, arranged all set up and break down, and at the end of the day had everything packed up and ready to go so my family didn't have to scramble around. They even sent to-go boxes of food in my car. Everyone I met was very professional, the food was phenomenal. I could not have asked for a better place. My wedding day was perfect.

I held my wedding reception at Iron City and my experience could not have been any better! We had an after wedding celebration party at Iron City, and it went over perfectly! We had about 200 people attend, but the venue could have easily handled more. We had a fun band (Az Izz) that kept the group going all night, and there was plenty of room to dance in front of the stage with four tables down there and five on the level with the stage!

We decorated the front mini stage area as a lounge area, as well as in front of the beautiful, wooden garage door! This was a perfect space for people to get away from the music if they wanted to chat, as well as sit and look at a slideshow of pictures from our wedding on the TV screens above the bar! This concert venue transitioned surprisingly well into a party/event space!

The bartenders were super friendly and a pleasure to work with. The wait staff was great, as well! The food was always stocked, and it was DELICIOUIS! We heard raves reviews from everyone about Iron City Grille catering.

Michelle, who handles the events at Iron City, was super easy to work with. She kept us in the loop, up-to-date on everything we needed to do, and helped us make decisions!

Really had a wonderful evening and would do it all over again! Thanks so much!

Iron City was the perfect wedding reception venue. We researched several of the nicer places in town before making our decision. From a price perspective, they were all very similar. What made us select Iron City was the beauty of the place itself, the extensive catering menu, the large bar area, and of course, the marquis :) Their event coordinator, Michelle, was very knowledgeable and helpful in arranging for all of our requests. We worked closely together for many months and every encounter was a pleasant one. We continue to hear positive comments from our family and friends about the delicious food and overall experience they had at the reception at Iron City.

Iron City was fantastic! The venue is beautiful and large! The employees were wonderful and Michelle, the event coordinator, was fantastic! Everyone was professional and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time. I cannot say enough good things about it!

The food was fantastic! They let us customize the layout of all the tables and chairs and the lighting scheme. The venue has the best dance floor (it is huge and the band is on an elevated stage) I have seen in Birmingham! Literally, everyone was dancing all night.

It was such a fun venue!! Highly recommended.

We would HIGHLY recommend Iron City for any event, but especially a wedding reception venue. We had an amazing planning experience with everyone there - from Michelle in planning to the catering team. They made everything so easy in the planning stages and even more so on the big day. they were so flexible with us, and it really made for the perfect venue. We love Iron City!

Iron city was absolute perfection. So many of my guests commented on the fun venue. Michelle made everything seamless..and when we wanted to extend our reception for another hour...she worked with the vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. I don't think I dropped a bead of sweat the entire night except on the super fun dance floor! They do it all...if you're looking for a one stop shop that has an incredible venue and point of contact-choose Iron City!
