Going into the dress process, I expected alterations to be a whole to-do; but Irina and her team made it so easy! My dress needed a hem and bustle, and we took in the straps a little. They were extremely quick, not only to complete the alterations, but the appointments themselves as well. My alterations were simple, so I was in and out in maybe 30 minutes tops, and I only needed to go in twice (once to drop the dress off, then to pick it up). The speed didn’t compromise the work, though- everything looked great and I had 0 issues with the bustle. I definitely recommend! -

Irina did an amazing job on my dress. My dress was a corset boning with lace and beads/sequins around the entire thing. She hemmed, bustled, took in detachable sleeves, and made more of a mermaid shape for me. She is AMAZING and fast! -

She adjusted the straps & fixed the length. I was nervous since my dress had intricate flower detail on the bottom but Irina hemmed it perfectly! I highly recommend her services. -

Irina is truly the best in the biz. She is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. I wore my wedding dress twice, once for our micro-wedding due to covid, then again for our big postponed wedding celebration. I had already had my dress altered elsewhere before we moved to Philly, but I took it a second time to Irina’s to get multiple issues fixed and to get a French bustle added. It looked perfect! I’ve also brought multiple cocktail dresses to Irina for alterations, and I’ll continue to bring any clothes that need fixing to her as well. Trust her with your wedding gown, she’s got you covered! -

Irina Sigal was recommended to me by a friend. I submitted an inquiry about having my wedding dress altered through the website and heard back from her shop within 48 hours. In an extremely busy wedding season, they were able to fit me in within a reasonable timeframe and I was very satisfied with the quality of Irina's work. Beyond being extremely talented at what she does, Irina was kind and honest. I really appreciated her demeanor and the time that she took to explain how she would alter the dress, and why. I would recommend Irina to anyone looking for a top-notch and stress-free alteration process! -

Irina was fantastic. My dress turned out better than I could have imagined. She added beading to a sheer section around the rib cage to allow me to use the undergarments I wanted and tailored the straps, waist, and length to fit me perfectly. Irina also created a beautiful bustle and taught one of my bridesmaids how to bustle the dress on the wedding day. As an LGBTQ bride I often tried to suss out how lgbt friendly vendors were from these reviews-do not spend any time worrying about Irina and her team. They are fantastic. They even have a large poster of a two-bride wedding she worked on hanging in the fitting room-a public display of how accepting they are that matches their smaller actions. Irina was also very flexible about when I picked up my dress, it was pouring the original day we had selected. Thanks Irina!! -

I would 100% recommend Irina and her team. I had my wedding dress tailored here and she was the only one willing to do it within one month. She did an exceptional job and it fit perfectly. She took the time to explain what she had done including the bustles she made on the back of the dress and had my sister practice putting them up and down. It was a bit on the expensive side, but I assume most wedding dress alterations are this way and it was very worth it to come here and spend my money on such high quality work and excellent customer service. -

Amazing experience!
When I had to move my wedding due to Covid I was extremely worried about being able to find a stream stress for my wedding dress alternations. I was referred to Irina by numerous people and am so happy I went to her! Irina was very flexible with my strict work schedule and was very quick in making my alterations. Great experience
Irina and her team are knowledgeable and professional. I bought my dress from a consignment shop a size too small. It needed to be let out on my hips, the bust needed to be taken in, and straps/cups were added. I believe the lace increased the price of letting it out. It fit me well! One part of the dress near my bust sagged a bit and it’s because of the fabric and my back being uneven (scoliosis). I was a little disappointed and was told it wouldn’t show up in photos but I noticed it in a majority of my pictures. There was nothing more that could be done. You can trust your dress to Irina. She will work with your wedding timeline and takes care of your dress! It just comes at a price. My dress was $1,200 and I paid over $800 for alterations (roughly 70% of my dress price). You get what you pay for, quality work. She’s an expert and you can trust your dress with her. -

I had originally scheduled a dress fitting appointment with another dressmaker in Philadelphia, but they unfortunately had to cancel due to Covid-19. I was very concerned that I would not be able to find anyone to help me with my wedding dress on such short notice, but Irina was available and saved the day! Irina and her team were very professional and kind at each of my fittings. Irina gave wonderful recommendations for my wedding day attire - from removing layers in the train to accentuate the lace applique, to the type of bustle, and even cutting my veil to the perfect length! I felt as though my dress was custom made and Irina made me feel beautiful on my wedding day. -

Weddinng gown alteration
Every girl wants to look and feel like a princess on their wedding day, right?! But every bride knows the process of finding that perfect dress can be frustrating and exhausting!!! Add the stress of only having 6 weeks to plan a wedding and limited floor samples during Covid 19 pandemic! So I was ready to make peace with a "maybe" dress. Until ... I was told to trust the fabulous Irina Sigal to turn my "maybe" dress into an absolute dream. See attached pictures and judge yourself! This dress was pretty and definitely had potential. Thank you Sposabella Bridal! Irina worked with me to make it an absolute stunner ... the straps were taken off, the slit was raised, all the hooks on the back of the dress changed, flowers added to cover up the imperfections of the corset, and that triple bustle!!! Irina was a pleasure to work with. I never felt rushed. All the questions were answered. The staff was beyond professional and friendly. Irina had a vision and made it a reality. Besides receiving a million compliments, I felt beautiful in my dress. I can't wait to return and make some new dresses from scratch. -

Irina, is my Seamstress Fairy Godmother!!!! I have two wedding dresses one fit to my style and the other one was my mommy's request. The dress I bought for my mom needed to be redesigned to mesh her and my style together. I had called 5 other seamstresses from South Jersey to Philly about redesigning the dress and none of them were confident enough to take a pair of scissors to the dress. I was starting to get so nervous because I knew I wasn't in love with the dress as it was. But, then I met Irina! Without hesitation when I told her what I wanted done to the dress she said she could do it. Even when I was explaining to her what I wanted to do she said to me I know exactly what you want! Which made me feel at ease and boy did she deliver!!!! When she finally redesigned and re-laced the dress it looked absolutely gorgeous!!! My mom was beyond happy with the way the dress looked... And to put the icing on the cake, she made a veil that went absolutely perfect with the dress!! But, what made me love Irina even more, is when my wedding date got postponed from April 2020 (because of Covid-19) to next summer 2021 (fingers crossed) she told me she would be there for me to adjust anything the dress needed when it was time for the wedding!!! It's already nerve wrecking when planning a wedding so to have a Seamstress Fairy Godmother who will make sure you look stunning on your wedding day, who deeply cares about her brides and is a master of her craft is what every bride needs!!!
I also have to mention her employees, her assistant and her secretary are such beautiful souls!! They are so patient with you as a bride during the whole appointment and they make you feel gorgeous!!! I would highly recommend any bride to come here and I will probably be using them again for anything I may need in the future!! Thank you Irina and your whole team!!! -

My mother's wedding gown (sewn by her and my grandmother) is a treasure I wouldn't have left to just anyone. The dress needed to be tailored for me, but also needed a bit of updating. Irina understood exactly where I was going with my unconventional style and helped me to re-imagined my mother's dress for my wedding day. I am happy I chose Irina, I don't know if anyone else would have seen my vision. My mother (I miss her so much) would have been proud. -

Irina tailored my dress within 3 weeks in the middle of the pandemic! She was kind enough to expedite the process since I eloped last minute (June of 2020) and planned the entire thing within 5 weeks (which meant buying and tailoring a dress in that time frame). I was so grateful she rushed it at no extra charge. Her boutique was cleanly and she limited the capacity to one customer at a time for safety. On top of coming through in a pinch, she also did an amazing job on the bustle as well as taking in the shoulders. She allowed me to bring in my own cups (with no additional fee) and installed them to my dress. Overall, for what was done, and in the short time frame, it was perfect and I couldnt have asked for more! -

Perfect fit!
Our wedding was quick from engagement to making it to the ceremony was a turnaround of under eight weeks. I found my dress on week three and Irina was able to squeeze me in and make the alterations. Now we didn’t have multiple fitting but we did have two and she also was able to hem a bridesmaids dress. The dress was perfect. Could have been a better fit. -

Incredible!
Irina did such an incredible job with my dress. Her quote was literally half of what anybody else had quoted. She adjusted all of the lace on my dress to make sure it sat perfectly and moved all the boning in the top half of my dress so that it fit just right. Her work was honestly beautiful and I’m so glad I used her! -

I brought my wedding dress to her as she was recommended by the bridal salon I purchased from (Lovely Bride). She was thorough and advised what she was going to do the day of my first appointment as well as pricing for the alterations, and had my dress ready within 2 months. Then, when I still wasn't feeling comfortable in my dress, and accidentally ripped it when trying on at home, she saw me the same day that I inquired, fixed the rip, free of charge, and talked to me about different bras to wear with the dress to feel more secure. I always trusted her when my dress was in her shop. As mentioned in a few other reviews, her shop is cash and check only, so plan accordingly. -

Pricey But Worth It
My dress was rather intricate with a lot of lace and detailing so I was rather nervous about getting it altered. Irina Sigal did a great job! The lace was beautiful and the advice she gave regarding the cuts and bustle were perfect. I was behind in getting all wedding things together but she was able to get it ready in time with a couple weeks to spare. It was much more expensive than I was anticipating but the dress did look beautiful. -

I'm so happy I made the choice to get my dress tailored by Irina Sigal. I purchased my dress from BHLDN just down the street and Irina was the first name on the list of tailors they recommended in the area. Irina and her team were very communicative and flexible in scheduling my appointment while making sure I adhered to a timeline that made sense for my (now delayed) wedding. I also live in Washington DC and her team was so kind in helping me find an appointment that made sense with my schedule and commute to Philly. The tailoring experience was lovely- everyone in the shop, including the customer getting her dress fitted, we so sweet. Everyone in the shop loved to hear about my engagement story and wedding and vice versa- it made for a truly heartwarming time. I was lucky that my dress already fit well, but Irina took the time to make sure that all the lines of the dress looked right and that the fabric was laying properly. Irina's tailoring is worth every penny. Because of COVID-19, I ultimately never went in for a final fitting but my dress fits like a glove and I could not be more excited to wear it. Along with offering an eventual final fitting when my wedding is rescheduled, Irina also sent the sweetest gift home with my dress as a consolation for our wedding being delayed. 10/10 recommend for skill, the overall experience, and value! -

Irina made alternations on my wedding dress. The work was intricate, as my dress has extensive beading. However, she did a fabulous job. The dress fit perfectly with no signs of repair. She knew exactly what to do upon our first consultation and the alterations were completed with plenty of time. I would definitely go back to her again and would highly recommend her for challenging alternation work. -

Wedding dress alterations
I had my wedding gown altered by Irina for my 12/4/21 wedding - scheduling a time was easy and I felt assured everything would be done on time and in a quality manner. My dress was tight fit with long train. The alterations were done flawlessly with perfect bustle for the train on the first time in. Did not need any second touch ups, which I thought I might. Irina is very skilled at what she does! -

I would recommend Irina to my friends that are brides because her work is quite excellent. I would warn them though that she is very intense, rude and pushy when it comes to her ideas of how your dress should look. Ultimately, she will do what you ask her to, but you must be firm. You need to be ready for a fast fitting where she quickly speaks to you, and regularly points out that she knows better than you. She is very intimidating. Emotionally, not a pleasant experience at all. But I must say her work is quite beautiful, better than I've ever seen. She brought my neckline higher and was able to do so in a beautiful, seamless way. You'd never know the dress was changed. For the quality of her work, I put up with her poor treatment of me. -

Run, no, sprint the other way! How many vendors do you encounter during wedding planning? We used at least a dozen, and Irina is literally the only one I wouldn’t recommend (so I am not typically a tough critic). First of all, all of the staff in the front are very rude. They’re short, they act fed up from the moment you walk in. My wedding dress didn’t fit in the busy area because of the pre-built cups and she was trying to move so quickly that she WOULD NOT listen to my concerns. She never did address them and I ended up with huge unnatural looking cups that stuck out on either side of my rib cage. That’s only the beginning. At my second fitting, she had modified the shoulders of the dress too much, so they were cutting down into my skin. No problem, just make an adjustment, but then she didn’t let me try the dress on again after she adjusted and they essentially kicked me out the door without confirming that the final product worked. Why? Because they had 3 brides all at once in the tiny little shop and no space or time to confirm the adjustment was good. Next issue? An older woman who is clearly friends with the owner came in with an enormous, muddy dog on a rainy day, and they allowed the dog into the room where brides are trying on pure white wedding gowns. Do you think anyone else would be allowed to bring a 80+ pound dog, or any dog, into the shop? Don’t think so. And for good reason. A room where brides are wearing their wedding gown prior to their wedding is no place for a wet dog. (And I love dogs, but come ON). They rushed me through every step of the process and made me feel uncomfortable and dissatisfied start to finish. I cried when I walked out with my gown. And did the right shoulders end up okay? No. There was still skin squeezing around the straps because it was so tight. Please give yourself the gown experience you deserve and go somewhere else. Far too expensive for the sheer terrible experience. -

I hate to leave a bad review (similar to others who have left very similar, poor reviews for Irina), but I want other brides to avoid having the experience I had.
I came to Irina’s shop after seeing its high reviews, and had a very poor experience. The staff does not come off as professional, personable, or knowledgeable. During all of my appointments, I was extremely rushed and there was little to no excitement around altering my dress. After my first round of alternations, my dress was still extremely loose on me in MULTIPLE areas. I expressed this to Irina numerous times and she responded that she couldn’t do anything about it. On top of this, there were straps on my dress that her team had forgotten to put on, then put on backwards, which then fell off as soon as I got home due to poor / careless stitching. They also forgot to attach my train. I truly don’t think they were listening to me and both of my appointments were rushed and a waste of time.
Luckily, even though I had already paid Irina, I ended up being able to go to another alterations specialist who was able to do EVERYTHING I asked for initially and fit my dress perfectly. When I arrived at this place, they informed me that Irina had made my dress too short, which resulted in me having to change the shoes I was planning to wear. I wish I hadn’t wasted my time or money with Irina and strongly encourage brides to look elsewhere if you want customized service and attention!
