Amazing experience - beautiful flowers & professional service that went above and beyond

Inspired Design provided the flowers for our wedding on Sept 27, 2024, and we couldn't feel more lucky to have worked with Dottie and her team on the floral design. The quote was fairly priced, communication was prompt, and I especially appreciated Dottie hopping on the phone to talk through some details of her proposal when I had questions.

What she was able to deliver on the day of our wedding exceeded expectations. Due to Hurricane Helene, my outdoor venue cancelled the day before and we moved to a new indoor venue with less than 24 hours notice. Inspired Design showed up and adapted plans for an outdoor arch to work with the modern indoor windows of the new space to stunning effect, and the gorgeous tablescapes and bouquet brought the whole room together. You would never know from the photos that the wedding wasn't always planned to look as it did, in large part thanks to Dottie's magic. I was very grateful to work with such a seasoned professional, especially under the circumstances. I also really enjoyed her design sense; the mix of taper candles and of types of arrangements on the tables was--as the name suggests--inspired.

Could not recommend more highly! Almost all the guests commented on how gorgeous the floral decoration was.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Dottie Edwards of Inspired Design of NC for our wedding, and I can confidently say that she exceeded all of our expectations! From the initial consultation to the final delivery, every aspect of the experience was exceptional.
From the moment we met, Dottie took the time to understand our vision and preferences. She listened attentively to our ideas and offered creative suggestions that perfectly captured the theme of our wedding.
On the big day, we were absolutely blown away by the floral arrangements! The bouquets were stunning, with a beautiful mix of colors and textures that met the thematic design we were going for. The centerpieces were equally impressive, adding an elegant touch to each table. Every detail was meticulously crafted, and it was clear that Dottie poured her heart into each arrangement. The BEST Floral Design Team

I'm not even sure where to start with our experience with Dottie at Inspired Designs!!! I could probably write an essay of wonderful things about Dottie and her team! When we first talked I was really torn between two floral design teams and I am so incredibly grateful to have chosen Inspired Designs. From the initial phone call with Dottie, to a design session in her studio and last minute changes/modifications, she was so incredibly accommodating and helped ease so much stress during the planning process. We always felt like she truly cared about us and our wedding day as if it was someone in her own family (just look at the sweet pictures of her and my husband on our wedding day). She was able to take my vision and create the most magical design and floral pieces for our wedding and I will be eternally grateful for her and her team!

They team everything was exceptional!! I had a specific vision that I wanted but it was going to be wayyyyyy over budget. She worked with me to find flowers and designs that were basically what I wanted on a little smaller of a scale so I wouldn’t have to sacrifice anything! Perfection and ease!!!

I could not recommend Dottie and Inspired Designs enough! Dottie makes you feel like family throughout the entire wedding planning process. She took the time to welcome us into her home, show us her workspace, create some mock-up tables, listened to our vision and made it all come to life in breathtaking perfection. She even had all of the vases in the style we were going for on hand. Dottie and her team worked great with our planners, she knew our venues well and what they required, and ultimately made it easy and no stress for me as a bride! We could not have been happier!!

Dottie was everything you could want and more from a florist. She has so much experience in the floral business that she can deliver exactly what your vision is as well as be honest if there needs to be deviations. Given COVID supply changes, Dottie was honest from the beginning regarding what floral substitutions would make more sense for our budget while still staying true to our vision. On the day of the wedding, Dottie’s floral arrangements literally brought me to tears. They were so elegant, organic, and lush, everything my little mind could have wanted and imaged and so much more. Her creations will forever live in my mind as the essence of beauty for that day. Appreciation abounds for the talent and vision of Dottie Edwards (Inspired Design of NC) and Carole Murray (Calligraphy by Carole) for creating simple but elegant tablescapes for my son’s Rehearsal Dinner at the Country Club of Asheville in November. Absolutely Magical Arrangements!

I am definitely not a creative person, but I knew I could trust Dottie and her crew to make my wedding gorgeous. They absolutely did not disappoint! Simply the best!

ottie and her team were beyond amazing!! We met once before my wedding and she turned all of my dreams/vision into reality! She is truly the sweetest, most bubbly person I’ve ever met which made it even easier to work with her. We used a couple floral arrangements for our rehearsal dinner and repurposed them for the wedding and Dottie handled everything, so we had nothing to worry about throughout our wedding weekend. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Inspired Designs! Her flowers were absolutely stunning and I received so many compliments about the floral arrangements specifically.
My mom passed away 10 years ago and Dottie helped me make her feel like she was with me the whole day. I ordered a charm with her picture and Dottie handled the rest. She’s a wonderful person and so talented. Highly recommend!!

Gorgeous Flowers and Creative Design

Best of the best and a joy to work with!

It is a joy to write about Inspired Design of NC! Dottie was amazing to work with. After reviewing some photos of colors and ideas my daughter and I had put together, Dottie presented a design with the perfect blend of accessories, flowers and arrangements for our ceremony and reception at The Ridge. She spent a lot of time discussing her vision for the venue and offered ways to save on costs with a plan to repurpose some of the arrangements from the ceremony for the reception. She was attentive to our responses and created a picture-perfect setting. Dottie stayed in touch, was prompt, and was able to adapt to a table layout change needed at the last minute with ease. Our entire wedding weekend was fantastic and Dottie of Inspired Design is at the top of the list of vendors we hired!

The most magical, fragrant bouquet and wedding florals

Dottie is the MOST amazing florist! She has years of experience and an aestehtic eye for what will be perfect at your event. We hired her to provide florals and ceiling/etc greenery for our August 2021 wedding which was held at The Venue in downtown Asheville. While I was thrilled with every aspect of our wedding, the flowers were absolute standouts! The way they smelled... FANTASTIC. I truly didn't know flowers could smell this good or this strong! The bouquet Dottie wound up creating for me was perfect for the soft elegance of my dress and my petite frame - she thought of everything and surpassed perfection!

Love you to the moon and back Dottie! You're simply amazing!

Dottie is AMAZING at her craft. We hired her for our wedding and shared a special connection from the first moment we met. She helped bring my vision to life, gently course corrected me on a few questionable ideas, and really pulled all design elements together with her floral artistry. She has an eye for design, color and texture that allows her to elevate any space into something truly magical. She created a beautiful and appropriately sized bouquet for me (I'm little), a crescent moon shaped arbor as a nod to the engravings in our wedding rings, created floral dog collars for our pups, and pulled my navy accents together with my favorite panda anemones (which I have no idea how she found because they were out of season, but she made it happen!).

Dottie is absolutely incredible at her craft. My flowers were STUNNING and complete show stoppers. She captured my vision perfectly. She was super hands on in the planning process and even met with me at the venue walk through to make sure everything was just perfect. She even let me watch her assemble my bouquets the day before the wedding, because she knows how much I love flowers. Perfect Floral Design & Experience

I got married during the tumultuous circumstances of the 2020 global pandemic, but I had a gorgeous, perfect wedding thanks to Inspired Designs of NC. I found myself with a backyard/at-home venue, and it was completely transformed into a touchingly special space thanks to incredible floral design. Dottie immediately understood my vision of the relaxed elegance in Dutch Masters-inspired fine art florals, but also understood my practical need for versatile pieces that could be used in different ways in unpredictable circumstances. I had complete peace of mind that she would make the floral design at my wedding perfect and beautiful, no matter what she had to work with. I knew I would be 100% happy with the outcome, even if it wasn’t the “vision” I had at the beginning. I’m pretty sure that if she had needed to forage woods and neighborhood gardens, she would have, and I would still have been blown away. I am from Asheville, and for years I have heard only wonderful things about Inspired Designs from other brides and vendors. Dottie was wonderfully easy to work with — an artist but also a gardener and an experienced wedding vendor. She understands the aesthetics of design, and she is deeply familiar with the plants she works with, but she also has practical experience with the nuances of event details. The value added to my wedding and wedding planning process was priceless. I cannot recommend Inspired Designs of NC highly enough!

Dottie was an exceptional florist and help for our wedding. She was very helpful and receptive making a Pinterest board for us. I didn’t know what I wanted as far as floral arrangements and her guidance was amazing! After we cancelled our wedding and rescheduled in a different location Dottie reached out numerous times to see if there was anything she could do. We settled on an intimate wedding at our house and she brought us flowers and it was beautiful! I highly recommend her for any of your needs, she is an amazing florist and person!

Such amazing work done!

Dottie was such a joy to work with! When my husband and I first got engaged, I started stressing about the flowers and what I wanted. I knew absolutely little to nothing about the different types of flowers and had no clue where to begin to pick out flowers. Dottie made it SO easy. Incredible!

Dottie and her team are amazing!! We had to postpone our wedding back in March, scheduled for May at the time, then uninvite a majority of our guests since COVID was still around for our new October date. Throughout the process, Dottie was a complete sweetheart and SO easy to work with, offering help and genuine advice as I navigated planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic! She will take your vision and budget and come up with something beyond your expectations!! Dottie is one of those vendors you will miss working with after your event is over, she is just great! 10/10 recommend :)

I am so grateful for Dottie’s calm decisive demeanor in the planning of the rehearsal dinner . She listened to the very few ideas I had and made my limited vision even more beautiful than I could have imagined ! I have to say the smilax , flowers and candle arrangement on mantle at the Grove Park Country Club house was my favorite !

Amazingly Creative & Collaborate

I cannot say enough good things about Dottie and Inspired Design! From the beginning, it was obvious that Dottie cared deeply about creating a truly unique floral plan for my partner and I. She is an incredible listener and collaborator - she brought so, so many amazing ideas to the table, and was just as creative and transparent when it came to working with our budget. It's just so obvious that Dottie loves what she does - she cares immensely for her clients, but you can also tell she pushes herself just because she loves this stuff!

My wedding was scheduled for late May 2020 - it's postponed now due to covid until July 2021. I wanted to give Dottie an early shoutout because she's been incredibly gracious about rescheduling. No one wants to have to change big plans, but it's a million times easier when you're working with great people who are focused on supporting you, and Dottie has 100% been that. I can't recommend her highly enough. I'm so happy with the plan we've put together and look forward to updating here once we've been able to carry out our plan.

Amazing, creative, passionate team who listens to your vision and executes flawlessly

We were blown away at the professionalism of everyone at Inspired Design. From spending time getting to know us and our vision, to curating floral design together, to handling all the details without us ever knowing anything that went wrong, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Dottie listened and understood our vision and created flower arrangements that were incredible. We also used Becky as our day-of coordinator and she was amazing. I'm sure there were things that went wrong on our wedding day but we were none the wiser about them and from our perspective and our guests, everything was perfect!

Dottie did an amazing job with our floral arrangements for the wedding. We had an idea of what we wanted and what we didn't, but didn't know the exact types of flowers. Dottie was AMAZING! Picking out flowers for our wedding was a very daunting task and Dottie made it so easy and simple. A dream to work with!

Dottie is an absolute angel! From the very beginning, we had the same vision, and she made it come to life. Everything exceeded all my expectations. Beautiful Wedding Flowers!

Without any hesitation, I would recommend Dottie and Inspired Design to any future brides. She made the most beautiful bridal bouquet for myself - it was more beautiful than I could have dreamed! I sent her a few pictures of bouquets I liked and she created a bouquet even more amazing than the inspiration photos. She also made beautiful bouquets for the entire wedding party. My husband wanted to incorporate hops into his boutonniere and Dottie was able to create a very romantic and tasteful boutonniere with the hops for all the groomsmen/groom. Dottie was also very responsive to all emails and kept in touch with me before and after the ceremony to ensure the delivery of the flowers to the venue was smooth and on time. Very lucky I was able to have Inspired Design create the flowers for my wedding!

Would not look back!

Choosing Inspired Design of NC for our wedding day flowers was one of the best decisions we made for our big day. Dottie was extremely helpful in helping bring our vision to life! We live in West Virginia and she was generous enough to meet us at our venue while we made a quick visit to NC to go over her ideas and speak with us about what we envision our flowers to look like on our big day. All the flowers were absolutely gorgeous. She definitely went above and beyond our expectations. When looking back on our big day, the flowers are definitely something in the forefront of our minds. As the bride’s mother, I was pleased with how carefully Dottie worked to ensure that the flowers fit my daughter’s vision for the wedding. Inspired Designs made the event even brighter!

Dottie was amazing, creative, helpful and full of love towards the bride. Her artistic creativity was the buzz of the reception as guests admired the beautifully filled antique tea cups with wildflowers that complemented the outdoor venue so well. Beautiful Work!

Dottie was so easy to work with! My daughter married into a Korean family and we wanted some Asian influence with the flowers. Dottie created a Pinterest board with some ideas she had to help us. She made several Ikebana type arrangements for the centerpieces and incorporated bamboo and other flowers that were just perfect and so creative. All of the floral arrangements, the arch and bridal flowers were amazing. I highly recommend Dottie and Inspired Design!

Beautiful Design

Dottie created exactly what we wanted for our wedding. We struggled to vocalize exactly what we were imagining and didn’t have a firm grasp on what we wanted, but Dottie created beautiful floral that everyone loved and worked well with our wedding planner to ensure it was seamlessly incorporated across the wedding. Cost was reasonable, and Dottie made sure everything went smoothly even when storms prevented some of our favorite floral from being easily available.

Beautiful and Thoughtful

From the beginning of our planing to our wedding day, Dottie has been an absolute dream to work with. She took our likes and dislikes to heart and made our vision for our wedding come true. She really went the extra mile with our wedding. She took our hobbies and interests and incorporated them into our flowers which we never even thought was possible. For example, my husband has a hobby of brewing his own beer which we just mentioned in passing. Dottie took that information and incorporated hops into our floral details. She truly made our wedding personalized and we loved every floral piece she cerated. What really blew us away was her creativity. She turned our home built pergola into a beautiful overgrown garden statement for our ceremony and our reception site into an indoor enchanted forest. She knew and understood exactly what we wanted. Dottie also was an amazing when it came down to our wedding weekend. Our wedding weekend happened to be the same weekend hurricane Florence was hitting North Carolina. She never made me feel nervous about the upcoming hurricane or what we would do if we move to Plan B, change everything from an outdoor ceremony to an outdoor ceremony under a tent, or Plan C, move everything from an outdoor ceremony to an indoor ceremony. She had a plan to use all the flowers we ordered in some way if we had to go to Plan B or C. I would recommend her to anyone getting married in the area. She truly cares about each bride and groom she works with and makes every detail flawless.

Inspired Design gave us everything and more that we ask for! Dottie took what we expressed and turned it into reality! She listened thoughtfully to what I had to say, brought new ideas to make it my own and when I arrived to the reception I literally cried at how beautiful it was and so much more than I expected. I told Dottie I would have rode in on a chariot of flowers if I had that kind of budget but sadly we didn’t and I still felt like we had flowers everywhere!! They were beautiful, and the table scapes were each thoughtfully designed. The guest couldn’t get over how there were so many different blooms that all worked together. Dottie we love you, you were a dream to work with. A true blessing, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

I can't say enough amazing things about Dottie. Hiring her for our wedding was simply one of the best decisions we made out of the entire planning process. From my first phone call with her, I knew immediately that she could envision what I was envisioning and that she could make it happen flawlessly, which she 100% did. Throughout the planning process she was super easy to communicate with and always there to answer any questions for me. Flash forward to day of our wedding and she truly delivered the most amazing flowers I have ever seen! Dottie took the time hand deliver my bouquet to me as I was getting ready and it was so perfect, so unique, so BEAUTIFUL that I cried at the sight of it. She so lovingly told me about each of the flowers included, how many were local blooms and some even from her own garden. The whole thing was so special to me. It is a memory from the blur of that day that I will always remember. The onsite floral and decor was even better than I ever could have imagined it turning out. Dottie handled so many big and small details for us and she truly transformed an already beautiful venue into an absolutely romantic and gorgeous dream come true. Simply said - Dottie is the best!!! Inspired Design created our floral design for our wedding day. Dottie Edwards met with me to discuss my vision, share photos and ideas and get to know one another months before the wedding. I knew she was special when I walked into a coffee shop and saw her waiting for me with my favorite flower on the table.
Dottie’s attention to detail and passion for making brides dreams come true is so evident in her work. Dottie provided the amazing flowers for my daughter's wedding at The Venue in Asheville. I cannot say enough about the outstanding job she did with the bouquets. When she brought them in to our Air B and B my daughter burst into tears, they were so breathtaking. Even the men at the wedding noticed and commented on how beautiful they were! The way she decorated the venue was amazing, so classy and elegant. My daughter commented several times on how professional Dottie is and how responsive she was the her questions/requests. Gorgeous flowers were a priority for my daughter and Dottie sure delivered! I highly recommend her for any event.

Dottie with Inspired Design is incredible! She will put all of her energy into to making your wedding beautiful. I had a lot of ideas for my flowers but she helped me find the right color palette, and feel for our wedding (over many long conversations on the phone and in person)! Dottie was not only our florist, but the designer for the whole wedding. Any design questions I had, she was there to give advice and lead me in the right direction, while still listening to my wants and needs. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! If you want beautiful flowers and a beautiful wedding, Inspired Design is the way to go!

I am SO thankful for Dottie and the entire Inspired Design crew. Dottie went above and beyond to create the flowers of my dreams for my special day. She was easy to communicate with via email and text and was always prompt in her responses. She was extremely organized throughout the entire process. I can not speak more highly about working with both Dottie and her team! Beginning with initial conversations as we dreamed up the look for my reception, Dottie did such a good job of see a big picture view while not ignoring all of the small details. Dottie is AMAZING! She went above and beyond what I expected. My flowers turned out beautiful. I mean really, they were PERFECT and everything I could have imagined. Our event for 700 women included 90 tables plus decor and arrangements for the stage & podium. Can't say enough good things about Inspired Design. Dottie was SO amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process. My only wish is that I would have found her sooner than I did!

I interviewed several floral designers for our wedding, and no one seemed quite right. Some of them understood my vision, but they didn't fit the budget or vice versa. After a lengthy phone call where she and I talked about the wedding plans and budget, she came to our venue for a consultation and by the time she left, I knew we were in great hands. I sent her a few pictures of things I liked, and she took it from there.

When she showed up on wedding day with the flowers, everyone was floored. They were drop dead gorgeous, and they were ten times better than I had imagined. Her flowers really made the event, and her professional and competent attitude made the planning process. Thank you Dottie!

I would HIGHLY recommend Dottie and Inspired Designs. I had interviewed 3 other florists that you see on the wedding sites a lot , but felt like they weren't really able to think outside the box of a huge budget with masses of flowers. A friend who lives in Asheville and worked with Dottie before gave me her name . I know my friend is very particular and wouldn't recommend her if she didn't believe in her work. She assured me I would be very happy and that she had never been anything but pleased with her creations. This was a destination wedding and it was important time that someone would take the time through phone calls and our one meeting to get our vision . We wanted to use lots of different greenery and candles punctuated with gorgeous unusual flowers . She really exceeded our expectations. She used the bridesmaids bouquets to add to the floral picture in a creative way. My friends all said they were some of the prettiest flowers they have ever seen at a wedding. It was very organic and different with great containers and staging. The garlands and floral wreaths were over the top. She listened and gave us a over the top value for our budget. She was willing to change directions on some things when we met with her at the venue. It never threw her when I scrapped some of the first ideas. We were only about 6-8 weeks out at this point. Dottie is a gem in this floral market in The Asheville area. She will help make your wedding an event to be remembered.

Dottie was absolutely fantastic! At our consultation, Debbie listened to every detail and helped put together a stunning summer wedding. I came in with some ideas and a price point in mind, and we were able to come up with the perfect combination of flowers and accents to really bring everything together. She was such a calming presence during our final consultation, and I left knowing that everything would be perfect on our wedding day. Her attention to detail made each piece gorgeous. Dottie Edwards of Inspired Design created the most exquisite table centerpieces, and a corsage and boutenierre for our October 2016 wedding. She listened carefully to what we wanted, provided lots of options, stayed flexible as our plans changed and was gracious and attentive the entire time. She suggested different types of containers, sending photos of them for me to consider. The flowers were fresh and beautiful, and she included some unique elements (like dried okra pods!) that made for stunning fall arrangements. I'd highly recommend them!

I loved working with Inspired Design. I was planning my wedding remote and Dottie was so responsive, which made planning from a distance that much easier.
