    Simply wonderful!

Jack and Jessica were truly wonderful throughout the entire process. The fact that they were able to put together such a beautiful reception for us in less than 2 months was amazing. Jack made sure every little detail was perfect and Jessica made the event unforgettable.

Loved our 9/17/16 wedding at the Inne of the Abingtons! We had an outdoor cocktail hour in the pavilion and the reception in the main ballroom. Everything went very smoothly - the food was good, staff was very courteous, and the venue looked fantastic. Stephanie, our reception planner at the Inne, was a dream- she was so organized and attentive during the planning phases and kept everything running great on the day itself. The Inne of the Abingtons is a great value, too. Very happy with our choice - we had a perfect day!

I had my bridal shower, rehearsal dinner and did the indoor outdoor wedding package with them. They were amazing, right down to the wait staff. I never had one rude person and they all worked with every one of us. They started a deal for veterans for next year (2017) but still gave us the deal for 2016. Everything was perfect for every event, I didn't have to change a thing. Made everything so much easier.

Courtney was amazing in helping plan our special day. She was very sweet and easy to talk to. She made sure to go over every detail to make the day special. Stephanie was there through the rehearsal and wedding day. She was incredible she helped with everything! !! She noticed my nerves on the day and got me ginger ale let Me see the room before the ceremony (which took my breathe away). I couldn't have been happier with the way everything went.

My husband & I can not rave enough about the Inne! We had our ceremony in the outdoor gazebo and it was absolutely beautiful! Our reception room was so perfect we were blown away! The whole day exceeded our expectations! Courtney was wonderful, throughout the entire wedding planning process and also on the day of the wedding. She was there every step of the way! Thanks to Courtney and the Inne our big day was PERFECT!

From the outdoor ceremony to the indoor reception my daughter's wedding day was perfect. Courtney helped her plan the whole day, from recommending a pastor to the dj and a photobooth. The food was delicious, impressing all of her guests. I would highly recommend the Inne of the Abingtons if you want a perfect wedding day.

Perfect!! That sums it up. My daughter was married in a church ceremony. We had the cocktail hour in the Inne's outdoor gazebo area and the reception in the ball room. Everything was done according to our wishes. The food was the best wedding food I ever had. It was served efficiently and hot!!! The guests commented on how delicious everything was. Courtney was our wedding coordinator, and she went out of her way to make everything special and to make sure everything was to our liking. The price which included the cake and centerpieces was unbeatable. We used one of the recommended DJs and were absolutely pleased. I was able to sit back and enjoy and not worry about a thing. Would highly recommend this venue.

I had my reception at the Inne of the Abingtons and everything there was great. Everything was done just as was discussed with our wedding planner, Courtney, who works for the Inne. Courtney was a great help with answering any questions and doing everything for the day of. You drop off your stuff, toasting flutes, favors, guest books ect and everything is set up for you so all you have to do is show up! I would definitely recommend the Inne to other couples having their reception.

AMAZING FACILITY & STAFF!!! The day was flawless...truly the wedding day of my dreams!!
It is ridiculous to allow the owner's beliefs on gay marriage to determine your decision on whether to have your wedding here! He is as much entitled to his beliefs as is anyone else.

I love this place now! I had my wedding shower, wedding rehearsal, and wedding reception here. They were so nice and let me do anything I wanted! They gave me everything I asked for and made it a very memorable night. The only complaint anyone had was that early in the night the beer was flat, but they tapped a new keg and all was fine after that. Love you Lori! Thank you so much!

The Inne of the Abingtons is amazing. From our very first meeting with John the owner we felt totally comfortable. John and Lorie the wedding planner were always on top of everything from planning to the wedding day itself. Lorie even sent emails every couple months to remind me of things I needed to get done for the wedding. A lot of those email reminders weren’t even things that I needed to do with the Inne. But they wanted to make sure we stayed on top of things like booking a DJ, hotels, etc. I realized that in working with them that they are fanatical about details and they truly wanted my wedding to be as successful as I did. That may be why they do as many weddings as they do. The day of the wedding was awesome. We had our ceremony in their garden gazebo which was gorgeous. The Ivy Room was set perfectly and all of my guests had a great time. The food was great and their attention to every detail made this a stress free wedding for me and my groom. I look forward to having all of my family events at the Inne of the Abingtons.

We booked the Inne of the Abingtons for our wedding reception last year before their major renovations. We had been to other events and weddings at the Inne and always felt it was a pretty place. We did see it once or twice this summer after the remodeling. But when our wedding day finally arrived and we saw it set for our reception we almost couldn’t believe our eyes. The renovations in the Ballroom were amazing; the room is majestic. We had our cocktail hour in the Ivy Room and that room also turned out gorgeous. The remodeling they did on the front foyer and the restrooms was amazing as well. When we booked the Inne last year we really felt like we were getting a great deal. The prices they charge for the quality wedding you get are great. But what we got (with the brand new Inne) was beyond our wildest expectations. Thanks to Lorie (our wedding planner) and John (the owner) for making our wedding more than we could have imagined. The food was awesome. The service was great. They took care of every little detail (even ones we forgot to do). We will never book another family event anywhere else but the Inne of the Abingtons.

This place is amazing! My fiance and I are getting married on June 10th, and we are honestly so glad we chose to work with the Inne. I can honestly say that throughout the last year of planning our wedding, we have been nothing more than absolutely impressed and super happy with the whole process at the Inne of the Abingtons. My fiance & I were looking for an affordable and gorgeous place to have our wedding, and we got both, almost half the price of most every other venue in this area. They just remodeled & the main ballroom is AMAZING!! I was so impressed with the owners. John was wonderful to reply to our emails immediately, as well as the former planner, Amy, and the new planner, Lorie. They are constantly on top of things, they provide clear and reasonable expectations for costs. Their food is excellent, and they even allowed my fiance & I to attend a holiday buffet for free, where we got to try their various foods. We've had nothing but positive experiences with the Inne, and I highly recommend it to anyone for any purpose!!!
On another note, the package we chose at the Inne was all-inclusive--it included a full open bar, our floral centerpieces provided by McCarthy flowers, our wedding cake provided by Creative Cakes in Clarks Summit, and great wedding planning by the staff! Also, we went with Allison Bolcavage for photography, and so far she has done our engagement photos & they are absolutely amazing! We cannot wait for our wedding pix--she is wonderfully nice & extremely talented.
We have booked TopShelf Entertainment--Kris Sheridan for our DJ and he'll be playing acoustic guitar during our ceremony & dinner for a very affordable cost--he is super nice & very talented!

The Perfect Wedding. We were thrilled with everything. Our wedding planner, Lorie, was phenomenal. I have never met someone who was so on top every detail. John, the owner, went out of his way to make sure our wedding was a total success. We couldn’t have asked for anything more on the most important day of our lives. As a Bridezilla I wanted everything exactly as I pictured it and the Inne of the Abingtons made that happen. The food was great, the service was amazing and the room was set perfectly. The staff made sure that every little detail that I wanted was taken care of. I would highly recommend the Inne of the Abingtons to anyone. My family and friends are still calling me to comment on how wonderful everything was.

I would just like to say that I am so happy that we chose to use the Inne of the Abingtons for our wedding. The event coordinator, Amy, was exceptionally helpful and was there every step of the way. On the wedding day, everything went perfectly. The outdoor ceremony in their gazebo/pavilion was beautifully decorated. Amy made sure everyone was in place and knew what to do. The reception was a blast. When I arrived, the tables were decorated just like I had described, everything was sent up so nice. The food was delicious, we received many compliments. Our package was the Nomadic one, so there were food stations set up around the perimeter, and I think everyone liked that. John, the owner, was around for the entire wedding, making sure everything went smoothly. He talked to us during dinner and made sure everything was great. I would highly recommend this venue. They have reasonable prices, unlike a lot of other places in the area, and the food and service was exceptionally. We had so many phone calls the next day saying how much fun they had at the wedding and how beautiful everything was. I hope this helps anyone who is trying to plan their wedding!!

I was so pleased with every aspect of my wedding at the Inne of the Abingtons. We decided to book the package that included the on-site ceremony, and everything the fabulous. The pavilion was beautifully decorated with flowers and hanging basket and the gazebo was well landscaped. We had a large number of guests, and somehow the staff found a way to accommodate them all in the pavilion. We had our reception in the main ballroom and everything was decorated beautifully. The package included centerpieces and we chose to add on up-lighting and chair covers at an additional charge. We chose the buffet dinner and there were so many choices. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the inne even through in a few extra menu items not in the contract, which was nice of them to do. The wedding planner, Courtney, was on top of everything and was so willing to help in anyway. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I would like any couple looking for a wedding venue to visit this beautiful Inne! As soon as my son and daughter in law saw the accommodations and spoke with Stephanie the wedding coordinator they knew this was the perfect place ! Our wedding was held on July 24 th and our family and guests agreed that it was an absolutely beautiful wedding in every way possible! Stephanie is by far the greatest asset to this beautiful place where we celebrated the happiest day of our life! Thank you so very much Stephanie for all you did for us to make this day just perfect! Your kindness, extremely hard work and professionalism NEVER be forgotten.

Stacey, John, Courtney, and the entire staff at the Inne of the Abingtons are amazing. The food was delicious, the room gorgeous, and my ceremony perfect. I threw them a lot of curveballs, as we did not have a traditional ceremony or the usual participants, and they were with me every step of the way, never missing a beat. I would not change a thing, and they made my wedding so stress free for me that I was able to enjoy myself and be in the moment. It was beautiful, and most of my guests are calling it the best wedding they have ever been to. Great, great, great!!!!

I had a problem with the first reception place I selected, it's a complicated story, but in the end I was frazzled and in need of a place that was going to work WITH me on what I needed for my wedding reception to be great. That's when I called Inne of the Abingtons, and I am so sorry I didn't find them before my first attempt with planning my wedding. All of the people I worked with at the Inne were fantastic. Every time I had a question, they were able to answer them quickly and efficiently. They worked with me to make sure I had enough vegetarian dishes on our buffet line. We even had our wedding ceremony in the beautiful garden pavilion outside. Sam, the young lady who did my walk-through on my rehearsal and was there with me through the whole wedding was very attentive and extremely helpful through it all. And did I mention this place is basically a one stop shop for your reception? And those things that aren't included in their very easy to customize packages, they have recommendations for vendors that can help you and also offer discounts. Really, the Inne was one of the most affordable places to have our wedding.

If I were to voice any complaint it would only be that the day we were married was very warm, nearing 80 degrees, actually it might have been over 80, and the reception room was very stuffy. I was quite warm and sweating (not cute in a wedding dress), and asked several times for something to be done, but it took them a couple hours before they actually turned the air conditioning on...sadly the reception was only 4 hours and the room quite large for the tiny A/C unit they had, so it wasn't all that helpful that late in the game. Now, having said that, my guests only remarked on it, they didn't complain, and I was still able to enjoy my day even though I wished it was cooler. Also, who would have thought it would have been quite that warm on an October day?

The only other thing, and it was not a problem for me, but I could see other Brides maybe being upset, I worked with several different wedding planners at the Inne over the course of my wedding planning. All of which were helpful and took great notes. I rarely had to remind each person what I wanted because everything was usually in my file. But, if you are looking for absolute one on one with just one person, I don't think that's the way the Inne works. Again, the people I worked with were FANTASTIC, but head's up in case this isn't the type of experience you want.

My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend the Inne as a place to have their wedding. The grounds, people, and food were wonderful.

We were so pleased with our daughters big day...The ballroom was beautiful, everything was set up exactly as we had requested. And the food was hot and delicious. The wedding planner there was extremely helpful.

The Inne is probably one of the better venues for value in the area. The main entrance is a little outdated looking, but the ballroom actually looks nice when everything is set up. It's not glamorous, but if you want to have a wedding that's under $10K than this is your place. It is close to 81 and easy to get to for guests. A downside is that there isn't a hotel or anything nearby. I would highly recommend this to any bridge you feels like she wants to have a beautiful day, but would like to save some money for the honeymoon.

I HIGHLY recommend inn of the abingtons. We just had our wedding there last month and Stephanie was amazing to work with....we planned all the details of the wedding ourselves and she was so helpful. The ceremony spot is beautiful, nice spots for pictures. Of course like ant wedding we ran into some issues the day of but everything worked out great and I couldn't have asked for a better venue!

Amy, our coordinator, was fantastic to work with. She is very friendly and flexible. Their food is delicious, too! All the staff were very friendly. Their wedding packages are very affordable, too. The only things I will warn you about are the florist and cake. Centerpieces are "included" in the package, but if you want something nice, rather than a dinky little nothing, be prepared to pay extra. That's ok, I just wish we had known up front just how limited our options were if we only went with centerpieces that were part of the package. Sherry from Fire and Ice florist (the florist the Inne uses) is very friendly and knows her stuff. I recommend selecting a bakery of your own if you want a cake that looks good. Don't use the vendor the Inne uses. The staff at the bakery wasn't friendly, the only moist cake was chocolate, the fillings weren't great, and the cake looked awful in the end. Guests did like the taste of the cake.
Overall, I would recommend The Inne of the Abingtons.

The Inne of the Abingtons is a beautiful location and has a large reception hall. The food is great for the price. By far beats all prices I have gotten from any other venue. They were very flexible and offer wonderful discounts on Bridal Showers, rehearsal dinners and anything else if the reception is booked there. John and Amy are very easy to work with and were able to answer all my questions. I few cards were misplaced between the ceremony and reception and John is currently trying to find them, but the givers were able to place a stop check on them so it worked out. All in All, if I were to do it all over again I would have still chosen the Inne of the Abingtons.

I got married outside in the Pavillion. It was gorgeous. I did have a lot of people at that ceremony since the reception was right after, and there were a few people standing. We went inside for cocktail hour, and there was a huge line, and the bartenders were being rude. They were carding my wedding party, and we had a problem with some not having their ID since they were in the wedding. My main grudge with this place was the bartenders being rude. They were rolling thier eyes when my guest asked for drinks, not smiling and just dissapearing randomly. I had open bar the whole ceremony so someone should have been there at all times since that is what I paid for! I did have an issue after the ceremony/reception that I had cards missing. So make sure you and your guests know where to put them. The minimum count for the room that we were in was 150, we had a count of 183 and the tables were a bit croweded in the room. The cake came from Creative Cakes, which the Inne has included in their package. The cake was delicious! It looked gorgeous! They definately did an amazing job with the cake. They also have a house florist, which I went with for my flowers. She did NOT listen to what I wanted with my bouquet. She gave me what I said I did NOT want. I would not recommend her unless you want to be dissapointed. I ordered my invitations through The Inne, and it was very easy, and convienent. They were so pretty, and just as they were pictured in the book. The Inne offers a lot or different services to make it easier for the brides to plan. Overall, my husband and I had a great time, and so did our guests.

John and all of his staff at the Inne of the Abingtons went above and beyond to make our wedding and reception everything we envisioned it to be. Amy, our wedding coordinator from the Inne was spectacular...she walked us through every step of our ceremony and reception, taking all the guess work out and easing our frazzled nerves! Thank you again from us and all our guests for making our special day even more perfect.

The room that we rented was very nice. It seated all the guests comfortably, but the only thing I didn't like was the fact that they took too long to remove the buffet, so therre was little time to dance.
John, the owner, was courteous, but a little pushy on some issues. He allowed us some leeway with the menue, but was a little snobby when I told him that I wanted the significant others of the bridal party at the table. I was not allowed to have my request, therefre, the wedding party wa forced to sit at another table.

I am reviewing this for a number of events, but most recently, a bridal shower which I threw in July 2009. The bride selected this location because of the reasonable prices and the fact that she was having the wedding there. My brother was recently married there and I know that during their "post-morteum" they discussed some concerns INCLUDING some problems with the food. Those problems were NOT addressed as we encountered the SAME problems at the bridal shower. The first problem was that the fruit salad that they serve is HORRIFIC. It seems as if it was made a couple days in advance with fresh cantaloupe, honey dew, kiwi and watermelon and canned pineapple chunks. All of the fruit seems to taste like one really nasty tasting fruit and the watermelon looks dehydrated, as if all of the juices have come out of it and it is just sitting in the juices. Yuck! It is the exact same problem I've noticed there before. There is something to be said for having a venue that is affordable, but you must remember that you are paying for not only a venue, but also catering. For that reason, if people don't enjoy the food, you have wasted your money.
Another problem we had is that there was only 1 server for 55 or so guests. Though it was a buffet, the plates remained on the tables for FAR TOO LONG. It hindered our ability to play games because there was no room on the tables. Though I attempted to help the server (who was very pleasant) to clear the tables, that was not my responsibility nor was there truly a means by which to be productive doing so. It was extremely frustrating.
Back to the food, the some of chicken tenders looked like dino-nuggets (who'll know what I'm taking about if you have children). To say the least, I did not get any, but people that did said that they were not good. BUT the WORST problem of all is that they served FUNKY OLD CHEESE. I unfortunately had ranch dressing get on mine, so I didn't notice, but 4 separate people approached me about the cheese during the shower and several more after the shower. Not to mention, it literally made me sick to my stomach. Now, we did not previously have a problem with old cheese here, but with old veggies. The veggie problem was corrected, but not the old food problem. The roast beef was ok as was the pasta salad and pasta (to my understanding). The general consensus was that the food was of poor quality though. I must say though, that at the previous wedding the fruit served during cocktail hour was not ripe, however it was ripe as an appetizer during the shower.
I must, though, say that the decor was very nice and they accommodated our needs as best they could and at a reasonable and recommendable level. Also, after the buffet was cleared, they helped us to move the overflow of cookies onto other tables to make the flow much better.
I must also say that in the beginning, I was very confused as the requirements of throwing a shower at this location. Having not thrown a event like this before, I did not know when they had to have the guest count, etc. I had to ask all of the questions instead of getting the answers up front. I got back to them about a week and a half prior to the shower to let them know the guest count and final needs. They told me that they needed the final count the day before the event. I got that to them WAY TOO LATE in the day (added 3 or so guests) and they were extremely accommodating. Though, a week in advance, I informed them that we would like a half chocolate, half vanilla cake that said "Best Wishes ...." We ended up with a marble cake (was very yummy, but not what we requested). The icing did not look "professional", but like something I could have done myself and it was a white icing with red writing. I have NO clue how they came to choose red, but the napkins we chose were sandalwood, so they didn't get it from there. The wedding (and shower) palate is brown and orange, fall like colors. To say the least, the bride did not want a picture with the cake.
Regardless of the food, we had a lovely time. Again though, I caution you against hosting an event here because the food is a major part of any event. You pay good money to feed your guests, and you don't want to throw it away. What a waste when your guests leave your event and stop for food on the way home!
In conclusion, I have now attended 3 events at this location (baptism reception, wedding, bridal shower). At only 1 of the events would I have recommended this as a location to celebrate "one of life's memorable moments".

The place looked amazing the day of my wedding! Although at first I was a little iffy about John the owner, they actually messed up a couple things, forgot to write down a $400 deposit I made, when I first held my date one of the ladies there wrote down the wrong thing instead of having the ceremony and reception, she just had down the reception and I had to get my save the date cards made all over again. Their fire-room for my rehearsal was very dull, none of the servers came in and brought us our drinks we actually had to get it all our selves, and then they finally came it. Again the place looked great the day of the wedding, even the outside ceremony, but other than that everything was off. I don't know if they were just busy or if that's how unprofessional they are.

I had my sons first holy communion party at this dump. The tv ads made this place look very nice and it was a dump. They shoved us in a room in the back it was flithy dirty and smelled like mold and mildew. The bathrooms so ditry i did not want to even use them. I had some guests arrive a little late and the food was already put away and rhey would not let them eat. But we still had to pay for them I was told. All the left over food was not given to us, instead it was given to a homeless shelter i guess i was supposed to invite them to.I paid for it. It should have been up to me what I wanted to do with it not yhat crook who took it and gave it away.Over all this place is not very nice inside or out.If you plan on booking this place please look at it first and think about it.It is not worth havivg your special day ruined. Oh yeah bring in a cake from your own bakery unless you want a defrosted pile of crap.

I am writing this review with regards to the venue only, not to include the DJ, photographer or cake provider as these we had no problem with. Well I will start with the positive. The food at the wedding was good and the wait staff was friendly. Now the negative, when we found the location for the wedding we were very pleased and the wedding coordinator seemed to be helpful and willing to accommodate us. We decided to have it here because we would be the only wedding that day and we picked the menu with an outdoor cocktail hour, picked out the linen and chair covers and the other details. From here on out it was all downhill. The week before the wedding we get a phone call saying that we owe a balance of around 700 dollars for the chair covers. When we picked out the chair covers with the coordinator we were not made aware of the extra cost nor did she have us sign a contract for them, so how were we supposed to know, and she drops this in our lap the week before and adds to the stress of the week.
When we arrive at the rehearsal dinner before we walk in the door, she starts by telling us, that the wedding will probably not be able to be outside because there is a horrible storm coming and she is just trying to be realistic. This is all said with no empathy in a matter of fact way. This is your one and only wedding day and not what you want to hear said in that way. The bride was in tears, and again more stress is added to the day! While we were in the parking lot we see two pieces of heavy equipment and we were told that they were not going to move these eye sores out of sight for the wedding day. We walked in and the foyer smells like cat urine, which is a great way to greet our guests. So we are walking through the building and notice that there is another room set up for a wedding. We were told that we would be the only wedding that day but apparently this was not the case. It turned out to be so, since when we looked at our guest book we saw names written in that were not guests of our wedding.
The morning of the wedding another issue arises and we are told that our outdoor cocktail hour we decided on was not part of our package and it would be an extra charge. So it is another choice that we discussed that was not added to the final cost. I thought this was the job of the wedding coordinator, to arrange everything before the actual day of the wedding. So the service falls short again.
Now it's the wedding day and 15 minutes before it is to start the rain begins. The guests have already arrived and taken their seats. The bride and bridal party are in cars waiting to take direction from the coordinator and 15 minutes after the wedding should have started, the coordinator comes to the bride and says, "do you still want to have this outside?" Not only is the wedding 15 minutes late but everyone is already in their seats! What a horrible question to ask the bride who is already upset that it is raining, just start the wedding already!
Now the wedding is over and since it is raining we could not leave the back of the pavilion, we did not plan on having a receiving line and made the coordinator aware of this and she did nothing to accommodate us on leaving the area so we could go and take pictures. In turn this put us behind on the "wedding day schedule" and was no fault of our own.
When pictures are finished she is rushing us to hurry up and be announced into the hall. The bride wanted her dress bustled and the coordinator asks, well how long it is going to take. Honestly it is not the coordinator's day, if it was going to take 30 minutes then so be it, it is the brides day and what she wants she gets and really it only takes 5 minutes. If she was so worried about time she should have done something to stop the receiving line, this is her job isn't it?
So during the wedding she made herself scarce and then about 8pm informs us that she is leaving and tells us that the owner is in charge if you need anything else.
Overall, I am so displeased with her service. She promised to accommodate us and made it sound that whatever we wanted would be taken care of and in the end this was not the case. The list could go on and on about what was promised and should have been taken care by the coordinator but in the end she fell short. The service we received was undesirable and her attitude was poor. We would not recommend this place to use as your venue for the one day that is supposed to be so special.

    Please do not book here

Do not book your event here!! This is painful for me to post. I am just going to list off the things that happened during my wedding. 1.) Entire children's table, that was labeled a children's table were served and reserved alcohol. 2.) there was a power outage during my event of which it took nearly an hour to get the power back on because the venue was not prepared with gasoline in their generators. I was told by the manager Jack, that most venues don't have generators and that it was acceptable for them not to have been prepared for them to work. This is complete and utter nonsense. 3.) The generators were not hooked up to the bathroom which resulted in my entire guest list having to use the bathroom in pitch black conditions with no running water or flushing toilets. 4.) they started to pack up my event about an hour before it ended which resulted in several of my guests leaving early and missing our sparkler send off towards the end of the night. 5.) although they are centered in a valley and have been in business for 30+ years they are not prepared for wind. My entire ceremony was blown away. 6.) if I hadn't had to deal with all of the other issues. This would've been one of my number one problems. And that being at the bar staff was absolutely miserable! One of them literally asked my guest if they knew how to read... your guests are expected to pour their own sodas And scoop Ice into their cups with no ice scoop. Completely unsanitary and unnecessary. 7.) about 20 minutes before the event ended I wasn't informed then and only then that I would have to take all of my items home with me that night. By this point the majority of my guests at already been drinking and I did not have the means to do that. I wish I would've been told us the day before the rehearsal and I would have made accommodations to do such. My coworkers who live two hours away spent the last 30 minutes of my event packing items and loading their cars! 8.) I became a wedding planner on the day that I was supposed to be a bride. Every 15 minutes I was approached by my very inexperienced wedding coordinator about problem after problem. She was not able to direct our ceremony and was quite frankly lost throughout the entire situation. I do feel bad saying this because I think that she did try to the best of her ability. But she was absolutely not experienced and should not have been handling my event. The manager, Jack, who has been corresponding with me online, and was there the day of the wedding made no point to come and talk to me at all. They never reached out with any type of apology or acknowledgment of just how terrible my day was. My heart is broken. I spent 2 years and 10s of thousands of dollars for this day. DO NOT BOOK HERE. My cost for this event was almost $12,000 to host around 110 people. I will be posting more details about our evening as well as correspondence between myself and the venue over the next coming days I will update with results from when I call the BBB, Pennsylvania health Department, the Pennsylvania liquor control board, and the police. #inneoftheabingtonsweddingupdate Do not waste your money!

I gave the quality of service a 3 out of 5 stars for the wedding coordinators ONLY. The main problem with this place is the owner, John. He is absolutely terrible and I think he needs to go back to school on customer service. Long story short, we came in under out minimum, and we were told several times that John makes up for that by giving upgrades and such. Two weeks before the wedding I was told that he would "the chefs were still tweaking a bruschetta recipe so he would throw that in for us" and that we had several other things that should have been charged an upcharge but they chose not to charge us, and now that we were under our minimum that was going to be considered an upgrade to make up our cost. I know someone who got married at the Radison two weeks before and were under their minimum by a lot, the Radison gave them TONS of stuff to make up their cost completely. We were not even offered any choices to make up our cost, not to mention that when I emailed the owner to express how completely unhappy I was with his "upgrades" he offered us, he ignored me completely! He made no contact with me whatsoever after I told him how unhappy I was. Also, there was no bruschetta at the wedding, he must have figured he wouldn't give us anything because I was not going to be happy no matter what, GREAT SERVICE! I believe the only reason he is still operating is because his prices are reasonable, well take your money else where and be happy with the service you get!

This review is not on the Inne of the Abingtons at this point as my wedding is not until the middle of June. This review is strictly pertaining to the current wedding officiant the Inne of the Abingtons uses for their ceremonies, Pastor Jason Gardner, to relate my experience to potential couples considering using his services. My fiancé and I met with the Pastor in the fall of 2009 and he left a decent first impression. He required ½ of his fee of $300 up front and did not have us sign any sort of contract. He did not show us any credentials as to professional experience as an ordained pastor, theology education, or education and training in marriage counseling. I’m still not sure what type of training he possesses, he has a full time day job, and to the best of my knowledge he is a youth pastor at a local church. Typically youth pastors do not marry or counsel couples as this is handled by senior clergy in the church because youth pastors usually don’t have the proper experience and are not qualified to do so. He uses a standard ceremony with everyone which he emails for you to add any elements to make it more your own. Due to his day job and wanting to get home as soon as possible he only meets with couples for interviews and marriage counseling weekdays, no weekends, and the latest appointment he can accommodate is 6pm. Thus my fiancé had to leave work early just to meet with him since his hours are so limited. The second meeting we setup for marriage counseling in the winter left us with reservations which we should have simply addressed then and there. The pastor was going through the counseling material and had considerable difficulty reading some of the words to material I assume he uses frequently. I’m not sure whether this was due to illness, tiredness, etc. This made us worried that on the day of the wedding guests might not be able to understand him and the ceremony might lose some of its meaningfulness. What made us most uncomfortable was the story he related to us. He was talking about honesty in relationships and started talking about his wife and a time he questioned hers. I guess his wife had been cleaning houses for someone and had something VERY bad happen to her but instead of telling her husband right away, calling him to pick her up, or simply leaving she continued to go back to clean for this person because the house needed cleaning. My fiancé and I sat there in complete shock and wanted very much to get up and leave. We felt bad for them both but felt very uncomfortable when we left and felt this was something so personal, irrelevant, inappropriate, unprofessional, and depressing to share with a happy couple about to be wed. We checked his reference with Amy at the Inne and she said all his ceremonies were beautiful and she’d never heard anything about his issues reading, he must have been tired due to a men’s retreat going on. We didn’t share the story he told us initially because we ourselves were so embarrassed. So four weeks before the wedding we called to confirm out last meeting and when asking what he and his wife would like to eat because we needed him to bless our meal he told us that he doesn’t do that anymore because ‘receptions get out of hand’. We had mentioned at the first meeting that a blessing would be needed and he never told us otherwise until 4 weeks before, after we had already given a deposit. This was the last straw which led us to locate someone else. We had to scramble at last minute to find someone else, fortunately my godfather who I haven’t seen in years, and reprint the wedding programs entirely. When we explained to him at first nicely why we wouldn’t be using him and that we wanted our deposit back he used every excuse in the world as to why he wouldn’t give a refund: a) that he had no way of knowing we’d be using his ceremony & I even provided proof with the new program, b) that he worked so many hours on it when he uses a standard one with everyone and I was the one who edited it to meet our needs, c) that he couldn’t schedule another wedding to replace ours so he’d lose money, d) sorry we made you uncomfortable but it’s okay that I shared the abuse because it was during a marriage counseling session, and e) even accused me of wanting to use my godfather the whole time. I’ve never encountered anything like this in my life and I would not refer him to anyone. My advice to any bride is meet the person several times, make sure they put together the ceremony YOU want because it’s YOU and your FIANCE’S day, check credentials, and make sure they are a head pastor at a physical church who actually marries members of their own congregation. Better yet use someone from your own church if you both are of the same faith or someone you know personally.
