I had my wedding at the Inn at Manchester this past March and MAGICAL is the only word to describe it. This was party due to the foot of snow the night before and the softly falling flakes during our outdoor ceremony, however much can be said about the absolutely excellent staff at the Inn. To start with, they were very flexible and willing to let us try new things at their venue. I don't think they host very many outdoor winter weddings, but they let us (carefully) shovel the snow ourselves (thanks groomsmen!) so that we could have an outdoor ceremony.
Gretchen and John gave excellent advice on how to find the right vendors for us. I had nothing to worry about the entire wedding day as John had it COVERED. He even hung some string lights on the terrace for us. My wedding day could have had something go wrong and I wouldn't even know.
The setup of the barn was just big enough for our 140+ person wedding with a 7-piece band. Every vendor said they loved working there. The rooms were lovely. The breakfast was fantastic. I can't think of another thing I could have asked for!
The only thing to note, was the celebration barn does look better (in my opinion) with string lighting which you have to rent. This isn't a negative, just an FYI for future brides and grooms! I also rented siding to tent in and heat the terrace so it could be used in the winter, and my caterer did not supply dishes, so I needed to work with a rental company anyway (Celebration rentals). This is also one of the strengths of this venue, its a bit of a blank slate! They had no issue with me tacking some snowshoes on the wall.
In review, I talk up the Inn at Manchester to everyone I know in the hopes that I will get invited to someone else's wedding here (maybe one in the summer this time!). We also plan to go back next year for our anniversary and will likely come visit for years to come. 11/5 stars! -

A memorable place to get married
My Husband and I got married here on June 26th, 2021. This venue was perfect- beautiful landscaping and a welcoming place to host our family and friends for the weekend. We loved the convenience to Manchester, and the staff was unbelievable! Everyone was super accommodating and flexible and made us feel comfortable the entire time. Nancy did everything she could to make sure things ran smoothly and they did! She is very knowledgeable and was able to recommend fantastic vendors for exactly what we were looking for. We couldn't be happier with our choice to get married at the Manchester Inn! -

The venue is not only perfect but so is the crew! Nancy, John, and Bryan made the wedding of our dreams come true! Their communication with us was excellent. They would always check up on us and listen to our needs and wants. On the day of the wedding, John made sure everything went smoothly, and having a clean up crew after it all was a stress reliever!! We had an absolutely incredible wedding weekend at the Inn at Manchester. Nancy, John, Bryan, and Gabi worked closely with us every step up the way to help our wedding visions come to fruition. They were super flexible and worked with us to customize the bar menu, spoke with our vendors to help coordinate set up, and made sure that everything day-of went smoothly. Getting married at IAM was easily the best decision we made. It's a world class wedding venue. It comes with an amazing barn & patio to host events, incredibly picturesque grounds with jaw-dropping views of Mount Equinox, and a magical ceremony location. All of these amazing qualities located in the charming town of Manchester, VT. Manchester offered plenty of lodging, dining and activity options for our guests the entire weekend. All of our guests were complimenting us about how fabulous IAM was.
One thing that really sets IAM apart is that it delivers the "weekend experience". We had our entire wedding party and immediate family stay on the grounds. Our friends & family are all scattered so we wanted to maximize the time with everyone. Some of our fondest memories are the "bonus time" throughout the weekend such as friends & family hanging by the pool or on the rocking chairs, playing games in common areas or grabbing a drink at the bar. We had our rehearsal dinner, welcome party at IAM and the after party was directly across the street. You literally do not have to get in a car the entire weekend!
Having the grounds for the entire weekend makes the experience much less stressful and more convenient than other venues where you just get access on the wedding day. Also, having the grounds the whole weekend guarantees no other wedding will be sharing the inn with you. You can begin decorating and setup on Friday before your guests arrive, people can easily go back to their rooms at any time and organizing photos is as simple as "meet down on the lawn at 3". I can't emphasize enough how helpful that was. And the staff are around all weekend to assist with anything. They even stored & reheated leftovers from our rehearsal dinner for the groomsmen to eat on Saturday.
Last but not least, you get the assistance of Nancy throughout the entire process and on the wedding day. She's an absolute pro and the glue that holds together your day. She has great connections and recommendations should you need them, is incredibly organized and responsive and goes out of her way to make sure your wedding day is special. By the end of the process she literally feels like family. -

September Wedding at the Inn at Manchester
The Inn at Manchester far exceeded our expectations for a wedding venue. While having to delay a year because of COVID, Nancy and the team at the Inn at Manchester were extremely understanding and accommodating. They were so helpful leading up to the wedding and Nancy made everything run extremely smoothly the full weekend. From helping plan the day of, to providing recommendations for other vendors and answers our questions big and small, we couldn't have done it without Nancy and the Inn at Manchester team. Being able to host our family and friends at the Inn all weekend, our Welcomed Party there Friday night and the ceremony and reception on Saturday was truly a dream come true. It's a gorgeous venue, perfectly located right off of town and the entire staff was so lovely to work with. I couldn't recommend the Inn at Manchester for your wedding weekend enough! -

Nancy and the team are experts—they are responsive, knowledgable, and guide your experience in ways that will make your day truly perfect. This is not a venue that pumps out multiple weddings in a weekend. You will be the only wedding at the Inn for the entire weekend and the personal care and attention makes a world of a difference.
On top of the exceptional support from the team, the Inn, the celebration barn, and the grounds itself are gorgeous and beautifully-maintained.

If you are looking to plan a beautiful Vermont wedding, look no further! The Inn at Manchester is located in the perfect spot, nestled in the center of a quaint Vermont town surrounded by great shopping and restaurants with a backdrop of breathtaking views of Mount Equinox! Guests will find an abundance of things to do and sights to see! Not only is the venue absolutely stunning, Nancy and her team were an absolute dream to work with. Being from Connecticut, planning a wedding out of state added a lot of stress and anxiety that Nancy and her team helped to alleviate. Nancy was extremely responsive to emails and always available to hop on the phone to answer any questions we might have, no matter how silly! She provided us with outstanding recommendations for our catering company, our live band, rental/decoration company and even the reverend who married us! She coordinated every aspect of our ceremony and reception and made sure everything went smoothly and as we had envisioned. The red reception barn is an absolutely beautiful setting for a rustic chic wedding and embodies all that Manchester Vermont has to offer! The fire pit outside on the perfectly manicured terrace provided an extra special aspect to our reception! Guests enjoyed late night s’mores surrounded by the glow of a warm fire! The Inn has so many charming rooms for our family and friends and perfectly accommodated everyone’s needs! My father is in a wheelchair and they were even able to provide a large handicapped accessible room for him and made him feel totally comfortable! The staff were so friendly and welcoming and made all our guests feel at home but also like they were on vacation! To this day, our guests still call us to say our wedding was one of the best they have ever been to. We cannot recommend the Inn at Manchester enough! Everything about a wedding at the Inn at Manchester is perfect! The property is picturesque, the town is charming, and the staff is hardworking and so easy to work with.
Initially, we were searching for a rustic barn venue but quickly became dismayed at how much extra cost and coordination would be involved for all the locations we checked out, not to mention the extra effort our guests would have to go through to attend. Choosing the Celebration Barn for our wedding venue eliminated all that extra and unwanted planning and allowed us to maximize time with our loved ones. Guests can stay right at the Inn, so in addition to the official events of the weekend, we were able to enjoy so much quality time with our family and friends - from breakfast each morning, to sipping coffee on the porch, lounging by the pool, and playing games on the great lawn. The town also provides lots to do for all activity levels; we appreciated that guests could turn our wedding weekend into a weekend getaway for themselves and their families.
The Celebration Barn itself is gorgeous. Our guests were comfortable all night long thanks to the powerful a/c, spacious bathrooms, the full kitchen where our caterers worked their magic, big tables, and comfy chairs. The space is beautiful enough that you don't have to do much in terms of decor, but Nancy will also ensure any wedding dream you have will come true. Her communication was impeccable, and that includes through the extra year of planning we ended up with after a pandemic postponement. We really cannot say enough good things about the entire staff for how detail-oriented, friendly, and welcoming they were. Our guests raved about the Inn all weekend. Since the wedding they continue to tell us how perfect the venue was, and some even plan to return to the Inn on their own!

Get married here!
We had the most incredible experience with our wedding at the Inn at Manchester! For one, the location is STUNNING! The grounds are gorgeous, the celebration barn is so beautiful (and the modern AC and bathrooms are a great feature) and having so many beautiful rooms for guests to stay in was amazing! This was such a magical place to get married and every single one of our guests loved it! The team at the Inn is truly the best out there and they made planning a wedding from 3,000 miles away feel easy! Nancy, the events coordinator at the Inn, was so helpful with checking in with us regularly and she always had the perfect suggestion for anything that we were stuck on. One of our biggest priorities was finding a space that felt really comfortable and that we could make "ours" for the weekend. We were able to set up the space on Friday and move everything out of the barn on Sunday morning and I cannot emphasize how helpful it was to not think about set-up or breakdown on the day of the wedding. It was also great to have the whole Inn booked by our guests who couldn't get enough of the beautiful pool and rocking chairs on the front porch. We are SO happy that we had our wedding here and truly can't wait to go back to visit! We couldn't have asked for a better location and team for our wedding at the Inn. We had the whole inn rented for our family for the weekend, and the service by the staff there, and the whole experience was amazing. Nancy was so helpful all the way through the planning, and (except for the rain instead of snow we got in January) everything went off without a hitch! Many of our family and friends are planning return trips to the Inn in the future, and we will certainly be back again! Seriously, everything was perfect. Aside from choosing each other, choosing the Inn at Manchester as our venue was the best wedding decision we made. We cannot recommend the Inn and their wonderful staff enough.
Thanks to the Inn’s event coordinator, Nancy, and her hard-working team, our wedding was absolutely perfect in every way. From our first phone conversation over a year before our wedding until we left the Inn the day after, Nancy was attentive, thoughtful, and organized. She checked in regularly to ensure we were on track during the planning process and guided our vendor recommendations (especially helpful since we’re from out of state).
During our wedding weekend, the top-notch hospitality from the Inn staff never ceased. Our guests raved about their beautiful rooms, the meticulously-kept grounds, the friendly staff, and the incredible breakfasts. Almost 6 months later, they’re still talking about how fabulous the Inn was.
Nancy’s experience and attention to detail truly shined on our wedding day. She and her team flawlessly thought of everything, going way above and beyond. They beautifully executed our visions for both the ceremony and reception and made the day flow seamlessly. When the reception was over, we went up to the gorgeous bridal suite (right above the Barn!) and found that they’d cleaned up our room and popped us some champagne. They think of endless thoughtful details that will make your wedding feel unique and extra special.

I had my wedding at the Inn July 2019 and it was the perfect day. My side of the family flew in from out of town and it was so nice to have everyone staying in one place on property. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are unique and well kept. Breakfast is delicious. They really cater to their wedding parties. Nancy is AMAZING! They say when two people get married, that two families become one, but this is not true when you get married at the Inn at Manchester. This is because three families become one, because you also get everyone at the Inn as a new family too, and what a beautiful, thoughtful and loving family they are! Getting married in the Celebration Barn is a must. Not only do you get the beautiful property, you are surrounded by the beautiful mountains that Vermont is known for. The ceremony spot is a beautiful, private spot and the Cocktail area/Celebration Barn are gorgeous as well. The space is great for a nice wedding size of about 100 people (which personally to me is the perfect size for a wedding), but can also fit quite a few more if needed if snuggly. You also get Nancy as an event coordinator. I don't have the time, or space to get into why this is one of the best things about the Inn. You will know the moment you come to visit why she is the absolute best! Lastly, when you get married in the Celebration Barn, you also get to stay in the bridal suite that is on the second floor of the barn. Why would you want that? It's huge, beautiful, has a fire place, a huge bathtub, two separate rooms to host morning of wedding activities in for the bridal party, the beds are soft, the pillows are softer, the sheets are the most amazing sheets I've ever slept on, and then in the morning you get to go have an amazing breakfast, sit alone or sit with any of the other guests who were staying (which are usually also wonderful people). Brian, Gabby, Nancy and the rest of the team at the Inn and Manchester, go out of their way to make your wedding special, or if you're just staying the night, your stay special. Words can’t do justice to how magical our wedding at the Inn at Manchester was! A part of me is still in shock with how flawlessly beautiful our wedding turned out, and both my wife and I feel so fortunate for having chosen such an amazing venue/team. The Inn, the barn, and the grounds are all meticulously kept and truly picturesque. I remember both my wife and I making audible gasps when we first stumbled upon the venue, and continued to be beyond impressed by all aspects of the planning and preparation. The Inn at Manchester has truly perfected the whole wedding planning and prep process, totally eradicating any amount of stress that weddings can cause, and also being incredibly informative with anything and everything that comes with it. More than that, the Inn staffs a team that is professional and hard-working, and demonstrate a true passion for weddings. Everyone we encountered was so friendly, accommodating, and enthusiastic. It was awesome to have them with us throughout the weekend. Nancy, who worked with us through all phases of planning, preparation, and day-of coordinating, deserves special recognition for all of her hard-work and dedication. She is so personable, warm, responsive, and easygoing, and she was so supportive and accommodating of our many requests and ideas for the day. Frankly, I don’t think we could’ve managed any of it without her, and to be honest, a lot of what made our weekend so special is with full thanks to her. Nancy—you’re the absolute best! Thank you to the Inn at Manchester and their wonderful team for what was the best day and best weekend ever, far exceeding any expectations we could’ve had! Words cannot adequately describe how happy we are with our experience at the Inn at Manchester. We knew from the moment we first visited that this was a special place, but in the 18 months between when we booked and our wedding day, we were able to see just HOW special. The space is gorgeous, obviously, from the Celebration Barn where our reception was held to the ceremony site outdoors and OH MY GOSH the suites. But what really sets IAM apart is their incredible team. Nancy blew me away on multiple occasions throughout this long planning and wedding day execution with her sheer awesomeness. She is so professional, easygoing, communicative, responsive... I could go on and on. Honestly, I credit my wedding day bliss primarily to Nancy, who was five steps ahead of everything. Gabi, Brian, Virgil, and literally everyone we interacted with that works at the Inn was SO friendly and knowledgeable and accommodating. We had the best day ever and our guests, especially those that stayed at the Inn, were beyond pleased. Nobody wanted to leave! A dream!! Beautiful professional, warm, inviting!
We can't recommend The Inn enough! Nancy was a dream to work with throughout the whole year - flexible, organized, great suggestions, calm and positive. The setting is amazing! Turly breathtaking. The Inn's grounds are meticulous kept - from rooms to florals to every details. The bridal suite was spacious enough for my 4 bridesmaids to get their hair done, make up for me, lunch to eat, and 10 assorted other family and friends spent the morning of the wedding with us. Having The Inn entirely booked by wedding guests made the whole weekend an intimate and loving time - hanging by the pool, sitting on the porch with our coffee, or having a drink at their adorable bar. June Wedding
Nancy and the Inn staff were nothing short of remarkable. We held a welcome reception, wedding ceremony and wedding reception at the Inn at Manchester and we were blown away by how flawlessly each event was coordinated and executed. Our guests are still raving about the wedding (and Nancy!) almost 5 months later.
Nancy and the Inn staff were so responsive and helpful through our entire wedding planning process ( which was over 16 months!). If you're searching for a wedding venue in Vermont -- look no further! Seriously.
Pro Tip: If you and your guests stay at the Inn, ask Nancy to serve Pancakes for breakfast. These pancakes will change your life. :)

Outstanding Inn with modern facilities and a historical ambiance all nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont
Our experience with the Inn at Manchester started with Nancy Hanes Ess who manages the events and marketing of this lovely property. She represents what the Inn at Manchester really is... a modern approach with sensitivity to history and surroundings and making their clients feel like all that matters is their experience. The rooms at the Inn are well appointed and historically quaint. This is Bed and Breakfast, an Inn, a Hotel and a first class wedding reception location set in the most beautiful town of Manchester, Vt at the foot of Mt. Equinox. We took over the property for the weekend and it felt like we were home. Nancy took care of us all along the journey which started over a year ago. New owners, Brian and Gabby made sure we knew who they were as they served us breakfast, attended to any issues though we had so few. The Wedding reception was an outstanding success again with Nancy at the helm. The rooms upstairs in the Celebration Barn were five-star quality... perfect for getting ready and then unwinding later. We highly recommend the Celebration Barn and the Inn at Manchester for any event!

Working with the Hanes family, who runs the inn, felt like anything but work. Nancy was responsive, helpful, and extremely friendly. I figured I would face some struggles living in Colorado and planning in a wedding in Vermont, but having Nancy to work with made everything a breeze. She was quick to answer any questions I had, she offered very helpful suggestions, and her passion for helping with weddings is apparent. Also, the Hanes family is well known in Manchester, so all of our other vendors had experience working with Nancy which helped make our day flow that much smoother. I honestly had zero stress on my wedding day as Nancy worked to make sure all ran smoothly and JoJo was always nearby to assist in anything you could possibly need help with. Apart from the family feel of working with Nancy, the property itself is amazing! The celebration barn is naturally beautiful, requiring the simplest of décor to bring the venue to life. Our guests raved about the beauty of the inn, the gorgeous large property they could walk around on, and the perfect patio to enjoy a drink around the fire. Since the rooms are all rented by family and friends for the weekend, having the property for just your party throughout the whole weekend allows you to celebrate even longer together (especially over the delicious, fresh cooked breakfast each morning). Our guests haven’t stopped talking about their experience at the inn. We certainly can’t wait to return!

Nancy and her team went above and beyond to accommodate our very special request of using their beautiful barn for our ceremony and cocktail hour prior to a reception at the Equinox. They put so much time in to coordinate our event and make every last detail special for us and our guests. They make you and your guests feel like family and had an open door policy with us when we had questions or wanted to pop by the barn to measure etc.. Nancy, Jojo, Frank and Frank Jr did an amazing job bringing everything together for us. It happened to become a blizzard during our wedding and they stayed calm and made the place look absolutely beautiful and full on Christmas for our Christmas themed wedding. We love you Inn at Manchester, thank you for making our day unforgettable.

The inn is breathtaking, they staff was amazingly helpful every step of the way, even with the wedding planning in general, reminding me of things I even forgot. Our ceremony and reception was beautiful and so much fun. Our guests are still talking about our wedding over a month later.

Andrew Sent on 12/18/2017In reading through the Inn at Manchester reviews on this site I think it is obvious to say there is very impressive pattern among them, and they proved to be true in every way. All of the guests at our wedding said the barn was the highlight of the weekend. We have been to so many wedding venues that churn out two or three or four weddings in a weekend, so this is a completely different vibe where we have the entire property for our family and friends for the weekend, and it's a million times more special. The place is beautiful as you can see in all the photos but even more impressive was the entire staff. They were all so pleasant to work with and really went out of the the way to make sure our event was perfect in every way. I highly highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to do any type of special event in southern Vermont - or even just get away for a weekend! Definitely will be back!

Meredith Sent on 12/08/2017My husband and I got married at the IAM in October and planned our big weekend there for over a year. Nancy and the whole Inn at Manchester family were absolutely amazing. From the start they were knowledgeable, easy to work work, and genuinely cared about making our day the best it could be. They were so accommodating with any special requests and did their absolute best to make sure everything was how we wished. The IAM requires that you book out the entire inn for events which gave us a great opportunity to make a weekend out of the wedding and allow our guests to experience everything that Manchester has to offer. We had lots of family from out of town staying on the premises and we were so glad we were able to share the stunning Inn with them. On the day of of we were absolutely blown away with how beautiful the space looked and how smoothly everything went. Nancy and the team got every single detail perfectly and did it all with a smile. I can't say enough about how wonderful and genuine this place and team are. We would recommend the IAM to everybody looking for the perfect intimate spot for their idyllic Vermont wedding. The weekend of the wedding Nancy, Jojo, and the rest of the crew went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Our videographer and photographer had never been there before and just kept raving about how picturesque the whole venue was. My fiancé & I discovered them in Oct 2014 when they were in the process of building the celebration barn. We had been engaged for 6 months & had still not found the perfect venue for our wedding. We discovered the celebration barn when it was only a frame & a blueprint. Immediately upon meeting Frank & Julie we knew this was where we wanted to have our wedding. The Inn was absolutely adorable & I knew that what ever they built would be nothing but amazing! Frank & Julie welcomed us in like family. We stopped in dozens of times to check on the building progress & to discuss wedding plans with them. Each time they dropped whatever they were doing, welcomed us with a warm hug & showed us around. The inn is a family run business & soon enough we got to know every member of the family & staff. Wedding planning is an extremely stressful time & in our venue search no one came close to the kindness & professionalism that everyone at the inn showed us. They are not a standard wedding factory that does numerous weddings on a weekend. It's nice to know that they are completely there for you on your day. We reserved the whole inn for the wedding weekend, which was so much fun! We had the entire place filled with our family & friends. It truly felt like home. I could not have asked for a better wedding day, every member of the family had a role at our wedding. It unfortunely rained on our wedding day, which normally could be devastating. Upon arriving to the venue after our ceremony all my anxiety disappeared! The venue looked absolutely amazing! Everything & more than I ever expected! The barn lit up looking like a fairytale. It was pouring all around us & I didn't even realize. Our wedding was truly unforgettable. I cannot recommend having your wedding here enough!
