I loved my experience finding my dress here. I was a little disappointed when found out after buying my dress that the stopped doing alterations at the store. -

Ida's is all about customer service and great prices! I purchased my bridesmaids dresses through Ida and I must say, I am so pleased / impressed with the service I received from Ida and her staff. My girls live all over the midwest and her co worker Kiersten was always so kind to allow me to come in however many times I needed, and was always more than willing to help. I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed working with Ida and her staff. -

It's simple - I looked and looked and looked and looked - no really. I was that bride. I walked into this amazing bridal store in Overland Park KS and BAM I feel in love not only with my dress "the one" if you know what I mean but the staff! THEY ARE AMAZING!!!! Beyond helpful and friendly. I could not say enough wonderful things about this amazing little shop. I will say this - STOP WASTING YOUR TIME at other stores and go to OP and find yo dress girl! -

I had such an amazing experience working with Ida's to purchase and alter my wedding dress. From the time we came in to try on dresses to the time I brought it back in to be cleaned, everyone there made me feel so special. They all remembered me when I walked in the door and were always very kind. I had the perfect dress for my wedding and am very thankful to everyone at Ida's for that! I would highly recommend Ida's! -

Ida's Bridal is THE place to go if you're looking for a personable and fun shopping experience. I went to Ida's to find my wedding dress and I could not be happier with the service I received. They let you walk around and pick out dresses rather then having them tucked away in a secret room where you have to rely on your attendant to make good picks for you. I didn't feel like I missed out on a dress. I had the pleasure of working with Kiersten and she was awesome. She asked questions, listened to what I liked and didn't like. She didn't try to oversell or pressure us into making a decision right then and there. Ida herself is also very sweet and kind. I wasn't expecting to see the owner working on a Saturday. I would recommend Ida's to anyone! -

Ida's Bridal was an incredible place to shop for a wedding dress! I had a strict $500 budget, so I called many stores before going shopping as to not waste my time. The first 2 shops of the day who had told me they had dresses within my budget had nothing! I never even stepped into a dress. Frustrated, I called Ida's to confirm that they had dresses in my budget. They assured me they did and offered to let me come in before my appointment time so I didn't waste any more of my day.
The moment we walked in we were greeted with a friendly face and a rose. I was in awe of the look of the store and wondered how I would ever find a $500 dress in such a beautiful place! The consultant however, directed me to the sale section and taught me and my group how to search for dresses. We all got to pick out dresses for me to try on. After I started putting on dresses without success, my consultant picked a dress I would have left on the rack! She encouraged me to try it on, and showed me how we could alter the dress to fit my desires. I went back and forth many times, and she did not hesitate to take me in and out of dresses as many times as I needed. I finally picked my dress and fell in love! She found a belt and veil to complete the look and let me walk all over the store in celebration! She even adjusted the price of the dress to be exactly $500! I was beyond pleased with Ida's and will recommend them to any bride i know! -

I found the perfect dress the first visit! I also found my bridesmaid dresses here. They measured everybody and discussed sizes confidentially with each bridesmaid. They were so knowledgeable and professional. -

After months of infuriating wedding gown shopping excursions, I found Ida's. My experience with them was perfect from start to finish, in particular Gayle, Ida, and Holly. When I first visited Ida's, I was thoroughly confused about what style dress I wanted after trying on so many. Gayle recommended a Sottero and Midgley gown and I absolutely fell in love. My mom lived out-of-state and wanted to see me in the gown before approving of it. Gayle could see how crushed I was that I had to leave the store without making the purchase and I came back twice to try it on before I finally called to excitedly tell them that I could buy it. Gayle honored the free alterations deal they give brides who purchase the gown the same day they try it on for the first time; I was so touched I started to cry! I lost a significant amount of weight during the wedding planning process and by the time I returned for my first fitting, it needed to be taken in a few inches. Ida did a wonderful job fitting the dress perfectly to my body. I ended up needing emergency surgery just seven days before my wedding and my body was sore and bloated for my final dress fitting. Ida, with the help of Holly, was able to put the final tweaks on my dress with causing me undue pain but it fit perfectly for wedding! They have an incredible selection of wedding gowns and other dresses. -

For whatever reason, following my engagement I made searching for a dress my lowest priority. I finally made the time to go dress shopping about three months before the big day. When I walked into Ida's Bridal I knew immediately that I had found the place for me. They were welcoming and accommodating, and made me feel at ease even when the other bridal salons had made me feel anxious about the lack of time. I found a floor sample that I loved and needed minimal alterations. Ida herself makes beautiful veils and made one for me, in addition to another lovely headpiece to wear following the ceremony. The staff was so nice to my family and friends, and really helped us enjoy our experience. My mother purchased her mother-of-the-bride dress from Ida. My mother saw a dress on a mannequin that she fell in love with, but unfortunately was not for sale nor was there enough time to order another one. The staff saw the disappointment on my mother's face and spent some time on the phone calling around the area to find the dress locally. It was found in a different color that coincidentally happened to be one of the colors of my wedding! Both my mother and I felt and looked beautiful, and we have Ida's Bridal and Tuxedos to thank. I would strongly recommend Ida's Bridal to anyone looking for wedding or formal attire. You will not be disappointed! -

Ida's bridal was the first and only shop that I went to look for my bridal gown. I went because of a sample sale and fell in love with a one of a kind piece and bought it that day - seven months before our wedding date. They kept the dress so that I didn't have to worry about it. I came in one month before the wedding to get fitted and it was easy, painless and precise. Ida did the fitting and also custom made my veil which was absolutely gorgeous. Only one fitting was needed because they're professionals. They were even in the middle of a move and got everything perfect on the first try. All consultants went out of their way to help us find the right fit for me. -

Ida's provided exceptional service for the bride! Her staff is very knowledgable of their products - and the timing it takes to order - and the exact fabrics that are good for a beach wedding (as well as any other type wedding). Both of my daughters used ida's for their gowns and we were exceptionally pleased. -

Ida's is a small shop with a huge selection. It is a very nice place with large dressing rooms and staff that know what they are talking about. They are not pushy sales people or the snooty bridal boutique type. They brought me gowns in my stated price range which I really appreciated. Once I found my gown and it came in they had great tailoring service. I also purchase my veil through them which they hand dyed to match the champagne color of my dress and re-sewed the lace to make it into a mantilla style that requested. The quality of their work is outstanding. -

Ida's was great to work with. They really treat you wonderfully here! They are a little pricey, but you get the good service that you are paying for. The only thing is that make sure you are calling them to schedule fittings and things. I always had to be the one to call! Besides that, my dress was amazing and so was everyone who helped me out! -

I found my perfect dress there!! It was so beautiful & the person that helped me listened to what I wanted & brought me that very first one. They can pick up a dress according to your taste. Even though my dress was a bit expensive, at least it was not as generic as Davids Bridal. Ida's has dresses custom just for you! -

Ida's was truly a wonderful experience in the entire planning and fruition of my wedding! I absolutely fell in love with a picture of my dress online on Ida's website, and did not think for a moment I would love it on me, but I did! The dress was truly the vision I didn't know I had desired for myself! Originally, my husband's aunt was going to do my alterations and create my veil as a wedding gift, but she fell gravely ill just weeks before my wedding day. I did not think I was going to be able to find someone to do my fittings, but I called Ida's and despite their policy for not working on a dress once it has left the store, they worked with me and completed my fittings for my dress. Bonnie was my salesperson and Pam was my life-saving seamstress that made my dress fit like a glove! And the veil that Ida made for me was truly beautiful! Everything from my groom's tux and the wedding party attire was just wonderful and the time and effort all the staff put into helping us made the entire process quite wonderful. There is no doubt that I will refer all my friends, family and my sister's friends to Ida's in the future!!! -

I'm so glad I found my dress at Idas. They worked within the price point I gave them. I got an email from them about a trunk show right when I got engaged. I hadn't spent much time looking for wedding dresses yet, but I saw a gown I loved on their website. So I went in, and they brought out the gown I loved, with some others. Robin helped me that day, and she was SOOO nice and helpful. They take time to sit with you at the beginning and discuss what you are looking for before they bring anything out. I ended up buying my gown that day after going and looking at one more place. I ordered my dress and it came in 2 months earlier than they originally expected. I was able to go in any time and try my dress on, they were flexible with that. My fittings went well, I met with Ida several times. She is a caring person who really wants the best for you. She made a custom veil for me that was stunning. She would give many pointers, how to hold the veil, etc. Things I never would have known. She also made a custom hair piece the week of the wedding for after I took the veil out at the reception. It was BEAUTIFUL, and really topped off the look with my dress. I loved working with every woman in that store, and loved being able to talk with/work with Ida. I never had a negative experience working with them. I'm very glad I found my dress there. -

Ida's was the first place I went to when I started looking for my dress. I had several appointments that day and Ida's was first on the list. I had a super great saleslady helping me, her name was Gail! She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed! I went dress shopping that day with every intention of buying my dress from David's Bridal! But that didn't happen! The third dress I tried on, I fell in love with!! Any and all that were tried on after, just didn't compare to this one! It was a little more than I had wanted to spend, but my mom ended up buying it for me in the long run. I did find out that they really weren't any more expensive than David's Bridal, by the time you added in all the extras that were needed from DB. I would and will definately recommend Ida's to anyone who is searching for a wedding dress! Always felt very welcomed every time I came in! Thanks for a great experience!!! -

Ida's is the place to go when you are in the market for a wedding dress. I went to 4 other places before going to her. I tried on so many dresses that I was tired of shopping by the time I got to her.
I explained what I wanted and they brought me 3 dresses. I had the most difficult time choosing from them. I loved my dress and it was such and amazing experience.
I would only recommend Ida's because not only are the dresses the best but it was the perfect experience. -

Ida makes the most beautiful veils and tiaras. Not only that, but she does high quality alterations. I felt so at ease about how I would look on my wedding day because she has so much experience at making sure that a bride will look her best. She also made sure that everything under my dress was going to make for a perfect fit. I didn't know exactly what kind of veil I wanted with my dress and she helped me find just the right style. I loved everything about my whole experience at Ida's. -

Don't even bother going anywhere else! Ida's was my first and last stop. They made me feel like an absolute princess and took very good care of me. My dress was more beautiful than I'd ever imagined, and they made it fit like a glove. I've heard horror stories about dress shopping, but thanks to Ida's my whole experience was wonderful. They are total professionals. -

I had a great experience at Ida's when getting my wedding dress. The staff was helpful and gave me exactly what I wanted. Their alterations were a bit expensive, but they came out great so it was worth it. They are very busy on the weekends, so I made my appointments during the week if I could. Ida was amazing, my dress was amazing, the bridesmaid dresses were amazing. My alterations were perfect, my dress fit my like a glove, and I received so many compliments. Ida worked amzingly hard to make sure that I was satisfied.
That being said, I wish I had gotten some of the girls' names that worked there so I could report their behavior to Ida. The girls often ignored me when I entered the shop, were usually too busy to help me with anything, and other than the girl who helped me find my dress, were utterly useless. One even proceeded to yell at me and my bridesmaids about being in there 2 minutes after closing (I was making some final decisisions about dresses). She even made a comment from across the room... ' I'm going to lock this door so no one ELSE without an appoinments decides to walk in.' I'm sure Ida would have been appalled. I expect more professionalism when spending thousands of dollars at a time.
But again, Ida herself was amazing! -

Ida is a wonderful lady who helped make my wedding dress shopping experience very enjoyable! I found my dream dress, they fitted it perfectly to me, and Ida created the perfect veil. When I went to pick up my dress 3 days before the wedding, Ida's staff had steamed it to perfection! She walked the dress out to my car with me, gave me a hug, and wished me lots of happiness... that's what I call customer service! :) The only downside here is that we got our tuxes through Ida's store, and although everything turned out fine eventually, it was quite a stressful process. Wouldn't necessarily recommend renting tuxes from here. -

I had a great experience with my dress buying and fitting. On a whim, my mother and I decided to drop into Ida's because we had notice that they were having a sale. I had no clue what I wanted for a dress, just general ideas of what I didn't want. After 45 fun minutes, i had found the dress. I think I tried on 15-18 dresses in that time and when the great sales lady (shoot I can't remember her name right now...) brought in "the one"its like she knew. She obviously had a method to her madness, listened to my feedback, didn't pressure me to look into a higher price range, and, made me feel beautiful. The experience was so easy and relaxing- not like anything I've heard about from other people. Perhaps I'm laid back? After purchasing the dress, we were pleased with the follow-up service and the alterations. They are extremely professional and the care they put into their product is obvious. The only snaffu I ran into was that it was a little difficult to find appointment times that worked with my schedules, but I imagine that happens at most places. When the appointments happened, they were on schedule! -

Ida & her staff are great!! They provided excellent customer service and I absolutely loved my dress and bridal accessories that she provided. I had a few issues with my final fittings, but I am not sure if it was because I lost weight or the alterations were not adequate. I would definitely recommend Ida's Custom Veils -

I only bought my veil from Ida's but it turned out beautifully. I went in with a very specific veil in mind, and ended up getting the perfect veil. She took a very basic style, and jazzed it up making it completely stunning. This is a great place to find your veil! -

I went to Ida's after getting the hard sell at another bridal store. At Ida's I could have tried on every dress in the store and they would have been happy to help me. The service doesn't end there. When I went back for my first fitting and tried on the dress there was a bit of a fit issue, but they were very quick to resolve it. Ida even made a custom veil for me which was beautiful and unique. -

I loved my wedding dress. It took me a while for me to find one, and at Ida's I found so many gorgeous gowns, but when I tried on mine I fell in love. She gave me a good price for my gown, was very generous with the cost of alterations, and even offered to give me a beautiful veil. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day and one of the reasons was because of my dress. She made sure to alter it carefully, and it fit me like a glove. One of the workers there was helping me into my dress but did not see that I was stepping on it; she pulled the dress up, and I heard the dress tear and of course I could see a small hole under the layers. It was not too noticeable but Ida made sure to fix it and I could not tell that it was even there. Ida made great suggestions of the type of veil I could wear with my dress to create a complete look and I would highly recommend her store over and over. -

I had a great experience at Ida's. I wanted to stay in my budget and there was none of the "well this dress is just a little out of your price range, but very beautiful." I wasn't shown anything above my price range which meant no temptations and I got a beautiful dress at a great price!
The only thing I didn't like was that I thought their accessories were way overpriced - but they all are at bridal salons. Also one of my bridesmaids ordered extra length on her dress (and paid extra) but did not get it. It was too late by the time we realized, so I never brought it up. I don't think it was the fault of Ida's shop though.

I was lucky to find the dress I wanted at Ida's my first day shopping! From ordering to altering to final pickup, the staff was very professional and helpful. Ida was able to alter my mother's veil and find a blusher to match, and I appreciated Ida's fine eye to details. They have many beautiful dresses there, just make an appointment. It can get crowded, and you want someone to have their attention directed to you! -

They were very attentive and I actually found my dress the very first time I went. The only thing I didn't like was the tailor there made me feel really bad about myself. When I found my dress I was coming off being sick for a long time. In recovery, I gained some of the weight back that I lost. Anyway, at one of the fittings she basically called me fat even though I still weighed less than 125 lbs. I just felt so bad about myself and I felt like I was really fat. -

I got my wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, and veil from Ida's. They are so nice there and they were very easy to work with. They were prompt and always seemed available when I called or went into the store. They had a great selection of dresses and we had no problems with getting the right dress and size. The seamstress did all my alterations at the store, but my bridesmaids had to go to the seamstress's house to get their dresses altered. It was a little bit of an inconvenience since she lived about 30 minutes from Ida's. The alterations were perfect though. -

Ida's did a great job helping me find my dream wedding dress for my small budget! I was impressed with how much time and energy they spent trying to find the perfect dress for me, and then making sure that it fit perfectly and that my veil was exactly what what I wanted!
We also got our Tux's there, and they did a good job of making sure that everyone got measured perfectly and that everyone had everything they needed BEFORE they left the shop!

I purchased my dress, a mon cheri, from Ida's custom veils. They gave my custom made $200 veil to me for free as well for purchasing a dress. I loved not having to sift through dresses. They bring out dresses for you a few at a time based on your requests. It felt like they were really intuitive as to what the bride wanted and needed. They had too many beautiful dresses though, which made it hard to choose! =) -

Ida's was my favorite experience so far as my wedding went. I started dress shopping early as I was attending Graduate school and knew I wouldn't have a lot of time closer to the wedding. During my first appointment I took my Matron of Honor and we were assisted by Bonnie. Bonnie was wonderful, took great care in her selection and after 5 dresses we had found the dress. Just to be sure Bonnie and my matron of honor dressed me up in everything under the sun, all the while cooing at how I looked in each one. It was fun, but I definitely think they had more fun. Back to my dress, I got a good deal, they stored it at the store for more than a year for my wedding, steamed, and spot cleaned my dress. Alterations were easy (just one) as the dress already fit me like a glove. I loved the french bustle and recommend it to give a dress that could be seen as normal a little extra glamour. I received so many compliments on my dress, I highly recommend Ida's and yes I was dragged to other stores even after "purchasing" the dress and everywhere else was lackluster at best. Go to Ida's for professional wedding service. -

i ordered just some flowers that went with my dress from ida's. they were very helpful in ordering the specific flowers for my dress all the way from spain, but never called when the flowers arrived. i knew approximately when they should be arriving in the store, so gave them about a week or two to contact me, and when i didn't hear from them, i called and sure enough, the flowers were there waiting for me. overall, my experience at ida's was very positive. though i didn't purchase my dress at ida's, they were helpful in getting me the flowers for my dress. i called closer to my wedding to see if they would steam my dress, and they were very adamant that they would not. when i asked who they might recommend, the lady on the phone said she couldn't look anything up right now because there was a fashion show going on and she seemed rush. this frustrated me, but otherwise ida's is helpful and professional. -

I had the absolute best experience at Ida's. First they are probably the most inexpensive shop in KC with a wide selection of dresses starting at $1,000, but still has a very unique feel to ensure you are creating that experience you have always imagined.
The staff was awesome. The woman I worked with was truly interested in me, the wedding plans and what I was looking for in a dress.
Not only did they have a huge selection of dresses I could have ordered, they had about 200 feet of sample dresses I could buy off the rack at a price that couldn't be beat!
Anyone looking for a dress in KC should definitely take a look at Ida's. -

We had very mixed feelings on our experience with Ida's.
We purchased my wedding dress, my mother's dress, the bridesmaid's dresses, and the flower girl dress from them. All of which turned out BEAUTIFULLY!! When i came to pick up my dress is was steamed and ready to tale home. Ida and her wedding dress staff are all wonderful to work with and really know their stuff!
However, I can't say the same about the tuxes. We ordered 10 tuxes through them and it was stressful. The women that is in charge of the tuxes didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the tux options. When we went to pick up the tuxes we found that we had to re-order my husbands whole outfit , along with other various pieces for others outfits. Which I could have understood if they all hadn't been measured by the same women that ordered them. We had to rush order them and had to steam them ourselves as we live 45 minutes from the store and they wouldn't be in till late the next day.( Same time as our wedding rehearsal ).
Definitely order your wedding dress from Ida's, just go elsewhere for the tuxes. -

I had a great experience ordering my dress and the boys' tuxedos. Everyone at Ida's is really friendly and helpful.
I did, however, have issues when it came time to alter my dress. Alteration prices were reasonable, but some of the altering was never done. During my second of three visits I asked for cups to be added to the bust portion of the dress and my straps were also pinned for altering. Unfortunately, neither of those two things ever happened which led to me showing a bit more cleavage than I was comfortable with. I was also disappointed that my bustle broke during dinner. I was forced to carry my train all night which was both uncomfortable and really frustrating.
I emailed Ida's shortly after the wedding to complain and the cost of my bustle was refunded. I wish things would have gone more smoothly, but I was impressed with the way the ladies at the shop handled my complaint.
I would definitely go back to Ida's for a dress, but I would be more vocal about alterations and schedule another fitting the day before the wedding, just to be safe. -

I have a hard time giving Ida's less than 5 out of 5 because I LOVE my dress and love Ida. But, may not be the best option if you aren't very flexible or expect a high-end boutique.
Pros: The sales people weren't sales-y, we just had fun. I didn't have any expectations because after 3 trips to bridal salons with not-so-great experiences, I had resolved to find my dress online. I still had an appointment set at Ida so I checked it out with a friend. The sales person didn't freak out when I told her I was getting married in less than 5 months. There wasn't a lot of high-pressure add-on sales or push to buy. When I found my dress, the team at Ida's worked with me to get it into my budget and ensure that Ida could do the alternations for my wedding date. The dress fit beautifully and I am still in love with it!
Cons: The place is in desperate need of updates both to the decor and the processes. Every appointment and note is hand-written. If it worked well, it may not be an issue, but their process had flaws. I showed up for an appointment and my dress wasn't even at the store. On my final visit when I went to take my dress home, it wasn't steamed as promised. I had to send my mom on the wedding day to get it -- but it still wasn't ready so she waited while the dress was steamed. I didn't sweat it, but one shouldn't stress out the mother of the bride like that! -

Ida's was a lot more affordable than other dress shops we looked at but I think the service is less than ideal. I found that even when I had an appointment, I often had to wait for service, either because the person who had the appointmnet in front of me was running behind or becuase a walk in was being helped. I also found the consultants that helped with my dress picking to be kind of awkward. She was friendly, but kind of distant. I found the dress I loved at a good price. I loved Pam who did my alterations, which were reasonably priced but I felt like the fittings were a bit rushed and am not sure the fit was as great as it could of been. Overall, I do recommed Ida's and am glad I chose them. They willingly stored and steamed my veil (which I already had) and also steamed my flower girl's dress because she brought it from out of town. In the end, they did a good job of providing what I needed and making me look beautiful. -

My dress was awesome! Thanks to Ida's I found a dress that I am still in love with! They managed to order the exact right size (I know that is highly unusual) which saved me a ton on alterations. My veil was custom made by the shop and was beautiful. They also provided the tux for my Hubby and he looked amazing. They were able to mock up a mannequin and hold my dress up next to it so we could see what the two of us would look like together. We looked amazing! -

I got my dress and veil from Ida's. I loved my dress and got tons of complements on it, but I had some trouble with the veil. They lost it, and I almost bought the wrong one. When they finally let me go look back through the veil room on my own, I found it and everything was fine. Overall, I would recommend Ida's, but just keep and eye on what you get! -

My Gown:
I had a great experience at Ida's. The day that I shopped Bonnie was who helped me. She only brought dresses within our budget and she was just so nice! I ordered the dress the same day and I got 20% off. I love my dress so much! I had two fitting appts and they were both fine. In the first one we just pinned the bustle and that's all the altering that I needed. I went back about 2 weeks before the wedding and tried it all on for the last time. Ida's pressed the dress for free. The only snaffoo in all of it was that my mom tried to go 3 times to pick it up and it wasn't ready! I guess is was difficult to press and Ida ended up doing it. In the end it looked really beautiful though! I wouldn't change a thing. My dress was by Mon Cheri.
Bridesmaid's Gowns:
Overall, the dresses were a great deal and looked wonderfull on the girls. We got a 20% discount on them b/c I also ordered my gown at Ida's. The day we went for measurements I was a little flustered b/c they recommended a size too big for every girl. The girls that chose the next size down all ended up with their dresses fitting really well. I had one that didn't try on the sample and hers was 2 sizes too big. She had to have it altered a lot. The dresses were from Jordan Bridesmaids, style number 600.

I was very happy with my experience at Ida's. My dress was beautiful, and they were more than happy to make 4 fittings for me each time my dress was altered. I especially loved the veil that I got from Ida's, which I got many compliments on. The seamstress was great to work with and was very understanding when I ran late because of traffic one day. My only complaint was that my slip never came in and they had to alter a larger size at the last minute. -

We used Ida's to rent our Jims Formalwear Tuxes. We called on a Monday to ask if they carried something specific, which they said they did. We asked if we could come in to see it and they said sure. Upon arrival (15 minutes later) they advised us that the Tuxedo specialist wasn't in, but did show us what we wanted. We came back in later, after making an appointment, to talk to Julie (the tuxedo specialist) about what specific items we wanted. Upon arriving we were told she was not there that day due to her sons football game. I was not upset that she wasn't there, but I was upset that no one felt the need to call and ask if I wanted to reschedule. We spoke to ida and got everything down on paper. Come to find out we had to go in again and tell Julie everything we had told Ida. Once all the guys went to get fitted we were supposed to receive confirmation of the order, which we did not. Julie was extremely apologetic and mailed us a new copy. all in all they were great to work with, but the communication was lacking. -

Although my wedding dress and custom veil were flawless, the personality of several employees at Ida's is questionable.
I was called when my dress first arrived at Ida's. I went in several weeks later to try on my dress for the FIRST time. A saleswoman handed me my dress, pointed me to a back fitting room, and then left the room. She never returned to see if we needed help- to take the dress out of plastic, to get the dress on for the first time, to zip the dress, etc. It took my mother 10+ minutes to flag down someone just to get my dress on.
The seamstress who did my dress fittings was very personable and definitely knew what she was doing- my dress fit perfectly!! -

I thought this was a going out of business sale, but it turns out it was just that particular location was closing, so I'm not sure how great of a "deal" I received. I felt like I received plenty of attention and help when trying on dresses, especially since I did not have an appointment, and the salesperson was very patient as I had a very difficult time making a decision. She gave me plenty of time and space to think about my choice and did not rush me, which I appreciated. She also gave me her own opinions when asked. What I didn't like was that they don't offer any alteration services, so I have to go somewhere else for that, and I have to have it cleaned, which was definitely something I feel they should do. When I asked about alterations I wanted ( a corset back and sweetheart neckline) they made it seem like it would be really cheap and easy, but the alterations places I've contacted have indicated otherwise. -

Ida's was a lovely place to purchase a wedding gown and veil. The day I went in to try on and purchase my dress, the service was excellent! My sales consultant pulled 10-12 beautiful gowns which were exactly waht I asked for. The dress arrived right on time, as did the bridesmaid dresses we ordered. The alterations were a bit of a nightmare, but in the end the dress looked beautiful. I would recommend looking for your dress here, but don't be afraid to be assertive and tell the seamstress exactly what you want with your alterations. I had to make several appointments and be very firm with what I wanted in order to have my dress looking exactly how I wanted it. -

I absolutely loved my wedding dress but ended up spending 1/3 again as much as I was planning on spending! They ask you how much you want to spend when you come in ($1000 is the minimum!) and they choose the gowns for you to try on. You don't look at anything unless they bring it to you. Again, I loved my dress, but it was extremely expensive and I also had a misunderstanding with one of the saleswomen. I would recommend Ida's to those who don't have a budget, but I'm sure there are more affordable places to go. -

I absolutely loved my dress.. However if I were to do it all over again, I would NOT go back to Ida's. After we made our first payment (half the total cost of the dress), they informed me that it wouldn't be in until December 13th. (I had ordered my dress in March - over spring break). Nobody ever bothered calling me once my dress had arrived. When I called to see if my dress had arrived, they informed me that it had been in for a week. I don't live in the Overland Park area - I actually live 3 hours away. When we arrived to pick up the dress, they had no record of which dress I'd purchased, and never once did anybody say THANK YOU after we made the final payment. The staff is rude and unorganized. Yes they have pretty dresses, but NO way would I go back. -

I was scheduled for my final dress fitting the week before my wedding and my sister had driven in from out of town to attend. They called me 5 minutes before my appointment and said that they didn't have my dress at the store and that they THOUGHT it was at the owner's home. Needless to say, hearing that is not all that comforting so close to the big day! The dress was in fact at her home for alterations, and they were very apologetic about the mistake, but it was quite frustrating at the time. -

Communication was lacking between vendor and myself. I was not prepared for a few expenses. Also, there was issues with the tux shop. The owner quoted me a price for the tuxes and when the suits came in I was asked to pay a different price. Finally, Idas measured 3 of the 11 men for tuxes and those 3 did not fit right. My experience was stressfull to say the least.
However, the lady they recommended for the alterations on my dress was wonderful. Ida's ordered my dress in a larger size than needed and I was worried that during the alterations process it would be damaged and it turned out perfectly. -

The customer service when going to shop for my wedding dress was great. I absolutely loved my dress and I'm convinced I wouldn't have found it elsewhere. However, think twice before you get bridesmaids dresses from here. They ordered the wrong colors, then tried to blame the mistake on me. When they realized they were at fault, it took them forever to fix their mistake. I was shipping out dresses to my bridesmaids less than a month before my wedding, which gave them very little time to get alterations. So, yes to wedding dress, no to bridesmaids dress! -

I loved their unique selection of dresses. Two things that made me upset was the fact that I ordered a specific veil and 2 days before the wedding they gave me a veil I didn't order. I wished they would have called me to tell me that they didn't have the veil rather than assuming that I would like what they picked out for me. I thought that was very unprofessional. I will say that the veil I ended up having was still beautiful and I wouldn't of found a better selection. Also, when I went to have my fitting, they gave my dress to another bride due to complications on her order. I had to wait a few weeks later to finally get the dress. Still, they didn't call me to inform me. I even flew into town for it. I would recommend this vendor, but with caution. I was probably one of the fluke cases. -

Eh, what can I say. I originally came here looking for a veil. I decided to also look at bridesmaids dresses. The bridesmaids room is a free-for-all. It's darn near impossible to get someone to help back there, but they had the dress I liked at a reasonable price. I then had an appointment to check out veils. When I showed up, they were scrambling to find a consultant willing to help, I can only assume because I wasn't buying an overpriced gown. My mother and friend had to essentially pull everything for me. I ended up purchasing the veil there because it was really beautiful, but when I went to pick up the dresses and veil on a weekday evening when it was dead, it was like I was invisible to the snotty consultants. Easy to say, I would not recommend them with all the other options out there. -

I found the perfect dress here, however the staff was not the easiest to work with. They were constantly making mistakes with payment, miscommunication with the bride, and made it difficult for the bridal party as well. I got my bridal dress, mother of the bride dress, and all bridesmaid dresses here and they were all very good, but the customer satisfaction was poor. -
