Preeti was a Godsend. She worked with me on the design and budget, she’s so sweet, responsive, and patient with all my questions. We got a three tiered buttercream cake with two different cake flavors (rich chocolate and marble vanilla chocolate) with Bavarian cream filling. It was well priced and did not sacrifice quality. It took a lot of research through different wedding websites to find her. Everything was either too far, too expensive, or low quality. My wedding was in the Dale city/ Manassas/ Woodbridge area. Preeti checked all the boxes for distance, customer service, value, and quality. The cake was moist and not overwhelmingly sweet. It was just right :). I’m not usually a “cake person” but I craved this cake after the wedding day! I provided the topper and fake flowers and entrusted her with the artistic vision and was STUNNED at how beautiful it came out. She also delivered which was a huge weight off my shoulders. Preeti is SKILLED. I cannot recommend her enough. -

Lovely cake for a Quinceañera
From the beginning she was super patient & assisted in walking us through all designs & flavors. Delivery & setup was flawless. Price was spot on to what we were looking to spend.
The 4 tier cake was beautiful & tasted wonderful. Would definitely recommend!!!

The Cake of Our Dreams
Our wedding was a dark romance theme and we knew we wanted a cake that fit that theme. Looking through tons of different vendors, we came across I Want Pretty Cakes and knew immediately that Preeti would be able to make this vision come to life. It was so easy contacting her and the communication was phenomenal from beginning to end. Once we set up our first meeting, we got to try many different flavor combinations which were all incredible and talk through every piece of our design. We came into the meeting with multiple pictures to show what we wanted and Preeti was very helpful with ideas of what she could do to make the cake look even better. After the meeting we were extremely confident and excited that our cake would be everything we wanted, which it was. On our wedding day, I had multiple people come up to me before I even got to see the cake saying how beautiful it was and they were right. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and tasted incredible!! I Want Pretty Cakes was the best decision we made and I wouldn’t change a single thing. -

Great experience with I Want Pretty Cakes. My first contact was for a one-tiered wedding cake for a small wedding. Preeti was informative, provided various suggestions, and provided not only a beautiful cake but a delicious one. Two weeks later I hosted another small event and knew that I Want Pretty Cakes had to be my baker. She once again delivered quickly and another delicious product. Her cakes are decadent without excessive sweetness to overpower the other flavors.

Wonderful Experience!
My wife and I loved our experience working with Preeti as our wedding cake vendor. During the planning and contracting phase, when we were unsure of how many guests we would have at our wedding, she gave us the flexibility within the contract to “start smaller” than we expected, with the option to pay more as needed if we predicted that we would need a cake larger than originally projected. This flexibility not only brought us peace of mind (since we could potentially ask for an increased size up to three weeks in advance) it also saved us money, because we ended up only needing the smaller size she recommended! We were impressed how Preeti went out of her way to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed while saving us money. For example, she showed us examples of how she could visually decorate the cakes with buttercream frosting to look like fondant icing, without having to pay the additional expense that usually comes with fondant icing! My wife loves the look of fondant icing on cakes, so we were really pleased that we could capture that look while staying within budget. Preeti also beautifully decorated our cake with “frosting pearls” and fresh roses provided from our florist; it was a beautiful work of art. Beyond her willingness to find ways for us to save money without sacrificing quality and the striking visual aesthetic of her work, the taste was outstanding! During the tasting period, social distancing was still encouraged, so she baked us “mini-cupcakes” of up to six cake and filling combinations to take home as samples. We chose a strawberry cake, pineapple filling combination. Our guests loved it; it was the perfect size, there were very few leftovers for us to take home (though the perfect leftover portion for my wife and I), the colors (white frosting, red strawberry cake, gold pineapple filling) perfectly coordinated with our wedding colors, and most of all, it just tasted superb. Pretti also lent us a golden cake stand ($200 security deposit, fully refundable upon return to Pretti), which matched perfectly with our décor and saved us the money of having to buy an additional piece of décor. Thank you Pretti; our day couldn’t have gone any better, and both your prep work before the wedding and your work the day of shone through brightly! -

I highly recommend any cake for an event done by Preeti. We were able to order samples prior to picking flavors and every single one of them was amazing. We settled for white cake and strawberry filling, chocolate cake and peanut butter filling, and strawberry cake with lemon filling. All of the flavors were perfect and the guests couldn't get enough of it. The presentation was absolutely beautiful. She did all the requests colors and set up as I asked. I can't imagine having a better cake and cupcake stand for our wedding. Thank you so much, you've given our guests something to talk about for time to come. -

Happy time with local vendor
We love working with local vendors over bigger brands. Preeti was easy to talk to and we felt really cared for as if by a very friendly neighbor. The cake came on time just as expected and Preeti decorated it for us with the flowers that we provided which were very kind of her.
Would recommend to all locals! Just a note: our total includes a $200 cake stand deposit which we were able to get back promptly after the wedding. -

We were honored to have Pretti prepare a unique cake that exceeded our expectations on the wedding day, 10/16/2021. As an SGL couple, we appreciated the level of care and happiness for us to get married. The cake was phenomenal and a hit with our guests. Before our wedding used her creative expertise for a friend's birthday, and many were in awe over the level of detail put into the cake, which made the experience even more special. Beyond Amazing!
Preeti was such a pleasure to work with. Being a COVID bride was not easy, but Preeti did everything to make sure I had the cake I had imagined, even though my request was a few weeks before the wedding. It was beyond beautiful and more than I had expected. I would love to have her make more cakes for me in the future. My guests loved both flavors and the gold flakes were a show stopper. We are so thrilled that we chose Preeti with I Want Pretty Cakes for our wedding cake!! When we went for our consultation, I literally moaned out loud when I tasted the first sample. Her cakes are THAT good! She was incredibly knowledgeable and worked with us on the design.
The day of our wedding, our cake looked exactly how we wanted - it was absolutely beautiful! We had 3 layers and each was a different flavor. I feel like most wedding cakes are kind of tasteless and dry. But every layer of ours was amazing! Moist and flavorful and delicious! Plus, it smelled fantastic! We were able to take a couple pieces home with us, and every night we wish we had some more! I can't speak highly enough about Preeti and her cakes. Her prices are great, she's a very kind and talented baker, and our wedding cake tasted sooooo good! -

WOW. I'll start from the beginning of my experience with Preeti and I Want Pretty Cakes, Inc.! She was recommended by our venue and in all honesty, we visited a store-front bakery before coming to her. Huge mistake. Their presentation was lackluster at best. When we showed up for a tasting with Preeti we were IMMEDIATELY blown away by the fact that she had carefully baked and created individual mini cupcakes for us to properly sample her various cakes, frostings, and fillings. We felt like we were sitting down with a friend to decide our cake. We talked her through what we liked and she walked us through a vision. As you can see in the photo I'm including, she DREW. OUT. THE. DESIGN. The way she drew the design of our cake allowed us to ENVISION the cake at our wedding. It's beautiful! We were sold and booked her the next day.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 interrupted our scheduled wedding plans on March 21, 2020. Preeti was EXTREMELY easy to work with to reschedule our date, which will now be rescheduled again in the middle of a pandemic. Her communication is impeccable and I never had worries that she would deliver for us on our wedding day. I am SO EXCITED for the cake she will make for us in May 2021.
But that's not all! We value small businesses and their work, so when we actually got to officially tie the knot in a private ceremony on May 8, we asked Preeti if we could purchase a small cake from her for that day. LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS. It's hard to decide what she does better--bake a delicious cake, or decorate a stunning cake?!?!?! Good thing you don't have to sacrifice either with her services. Stop reading my review and go sign Preeti and I Want Pretty Cakes for your wedding immediately!!! -

Excellent service and delicious cake!
Scrumptious! A lot of people will tell you they don’t like cake. Personally, I love cake, but I understand why others might not. During and after our wedding, I had several cake-hating guests come up to me to tell me they “usually don’t like cake but your cake was delicious”. Of course it is. Preeti was super helpful in making suggestions, and it turned out to be one of our faster decisions for our whole wedding. Anyways, we’re not doing that thing where we freeze the remainder of our cake until our anniversary because that’s a waste of tasty cake, and instead we have polished off the rest of it! -

Super Hero
Our wedding had a Superhero theme and we wanted cupcakes. Preeti had done superhero cakes before and cupcake wedding cakes but to combine the two was a challenge. Preeti rose to the occassion giving us some excellent ideas and we ended up with a very classy and theme appropriate result.
Now her cake flavors. From the first bit of the Marble cake at our tasting we both knew we had found our baker. The flavors and cakes she puts together are magical. We ended up choosing 3 cakes for our final options that were not even on our rador going into the tasting. That says a lot for 2 people who were just looking for a baker that fit their desires we ended up finding one that changed them.
It was always very easy to talk to her over email or text when we had questions or concerns. Overall it was an awesome experience working with her, -

As a wedding photographer I am super picky about cake taste. You can have a beautiful stunning cake and it all get ruined because it is dry or does no have the right taste. I was photographing a wedding a few years ago at Harbour View and had one of the cupcakes that a bride gave me. Let me tell you I LOVED IT! I have a lot of cake at a lot of weddings but these cupcakes tasted sooo good! When I got engaged I made sure I booked with her right away! The cake and cupcakes got so many rave reviews at the wedding! We had lots of different flavors. We found the website iwantprettycakes.com while looking for bakers in the DC, MD, and VA area. All of the cakes were beautiful and our first thought was that we had to meet the person responsible. Preeti welcomed us into her home where she offered us 6 cake and filling options. Everything was amazing. We knew we’d found the right person for the job. We chose 3 flavors. One was in a 3 tier cake and the other two were split between 8 dozen cupcakes. They were all a hit at the wedding. I can honestly say that I Want Pretty Cakes is amazing. If you need cakes or cupcakes look no further! 10/10 -

Jonar Sent on 09/13/2018I don't know how else to say this other than DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS oh and DELICIOUS! I also forgot to mention that it was absolutely gorgeous as well! During our tasting, it was practically impossible to determine what the flavors would be and how exactly we would arrange them so that we could enjoy every level. It's easy to find really good cakes, it's nearly impossible to find cakes that you cannot stop eating and Pretti's cakes are so good its impossible to stop eating. She definitely made the focal point of our wedding something EVERYONE raved about. The cake was so good, my wife and I barely got a chance to have any as it had become an instant hit at the banquet. I will definitely be reaching back out to her for other delicious treats. -
