The Most Personal and Meaningful Ceremony We Could Have Imagined
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Rev. Phill! From start to finish, he made our ceremony feel completely personal, meaningful, and truly about us. He took the time to get to know us and guided us through every step of the process — from the structure of the ceremony to the heartfelt details that made it uniquely ours. His care, thoughtfulness, and genuine spirit shone through in every moment.
My absolute favorite part of the entire day was when my husband and I shared our reasons for why we love each other — a beautiful idea that Rev. Phill incorporated perfectly. Hearing those words out loud, realizing how aligned our hearts and thoughts were, and seeing our guests’ reactions was unforgettable. It’s something we will cherish for the rest of our lives, and so many guests told us afterward how touching and personal it was.
Rev. Phill went above and beyond in every way. His warmth, sincerity, and professionalism made us feel completely at ease, and it truly felt like he had known us for years. We would not have wanted anyone else to officiate our wedding — he was absolutely perfect for us and worth every penny.

When looking for an officiant, we wanted to find someone who could bring us a unique ceremony that felt like it was made just for us, and that’s exactly what Reverend Phil did. His wide variety of options allowed us to choose exactly what we wanted, without us having to figure out all of the logistics ourselves. We could pick and choose the pieces that felt right for us and he put it all together beautifully. Our ceremony was so special and meaningful, and we were able to put our trust in him to professionally and personally make it all happen. Reverend Phil was great to work with, and his services were well worth any cost. Our wedding day flew by in the blink of an eye but I vividly remember everything about our ceremony because of how well it was crafted just for us. We received so many compliments on the ceremony, specifically. Highly recommend!!! -

Working with Rev. Phil was great! He was very easy to get into communication with, and he was very thorough to make sure everything important was captured. He communicated with our vendors directly, and made the entire process very easy for us. We loved the "secret loves", and he had all of our guests feeling the emotions too. When we had a family emergency the week before the wedding he was very kind and compassionate, and did his best to relieve us of any additional stress. I cannot recommend Rev. Phil enough! -

Rev. Phil was so clear in communicating with us on what was expected for the ceremony. We had a very narrow rehearsal time and Rev. Phil made sure everyone knew what their role was. It is hard to wrangle my family, so I was impressed! We had an extremely loud and rude disruption from a random passerby during the ceremony and Phil handled the situation very professionally and courteously. Our families loved hearing our “secret loves”, not sure Sean and I could’ve recited those without crying! Overall we highly recommend Rev. Phil! -

My husband arranged a surprise vow renewal for our 15th wedding anniversary that we celebrated in Chicago recently. I had no idea that my husband had been planning this surprise with Rev. Phil for several months in advance of our trip! We went to Grant Park the early evening of our anniversary on our way to our dinner reservations nearby, and were met there by Rev. Phil for the surprise vow renewal. What a fantastic way to start the celebration weekend! Rev. Phil had corresponded with my husband thoroughly and promptly right up to the surprise event. We feel so lucky to have had Reverend Phil as our officiant—he truly made our outdoor ceremony not only beautiful and memorable, but deeply meaningful. He brought the perfect balance of a religious tone with warmth and sincerity, creating an atmosphere that felt so personal and reflective of us as a couple.
Every part of the ceremony was incredibly intentional. Reverend Phil involved us throughout the entire process, from approving the full script to holding a rehearsal on the grounds to ensure everything would go smoothly. He didn’t just officiate—he genuinely acted as a ceremony coordinator, stepping in when needed (including when the wind unexpectedly knocked over and broke our glass vases) and handling it all with calm and care.
Also, he's not an officiant that you have to ask to step out of the way for photos. He's already thought of that and will recommend dozens of other tips and tricks to make sure everything goes smoothly! Rev. Phil was the perfect officiant for our special day.
When we started planning our wedding, my husband and I agreed that the ceremony was something we wanted to invest in.
We weren’t sure how to search for an officiant due to our different religious backgrounds but after our initial conversation we knew Rev. Phil was the one (fun fact: he was the first and only officiant we looked at)
Communication was what really sold us. Rev. Phil explained everything from beginning to end, took notes of traditions that were important to us, and even communicated between vendors which took a lot of stress from us.
Our ceremony was definitely tailored to us a perfect balance of tradition and modernization. Our guests told us several times how personal the ceremony was and that was exactly what we strived for. Overall, worth every penny.

Rev. Phil is extraordinary! He is a fantastic officiant and an amazing person! His wide flexibility, diligent organization, and crystal-clear communication helped so much in reducing the stress in planning our ceremony and most certainly was worth the cost. His delivery of our 5 secret loves about each other were exactly what we imagined, and he did an excellent job officiating such an amazing wedding for us. The guests loved his personality, bringing up several of his quotes later on that night and the following days. It is clear that he is someone who does this profession because he truly enjoys it, as he takes the time to get to know each couple and their unique story and uses it to create a personalized script based on their specific qualities. One thing that especially demonstrated how caring he is was that even after the ceremony, he took the time to sit with some of our guests and learn more about us from them. Rev. Phil was worth it through and through for our big day. My wife and I had such a wonderful and delightful experience working with Rev. Phil in preparation for our wedding. His professionalism yet gentle approach combined with the uniqueness of highlighting in detail our love story as he officiated made him a standout not just for us, but to our guests as well; some of which had seen *many* weddings in their day and yet found Rev. Phil’s approach and style to be a wonderful touch. For my wife and I, who can be very particular and specific souls when it comes to taste, we would certainly recommend Rev. Phil. Rev Phil is a MUST
5 stars is not even enough!! He is a BIG part of why we got the wedding of our dreams. Rev Phil truly did a remarkable job. Definitely a great experience!
Reverend Phil made our wedding day even more memorable and special. My husband and I planned our wedding in just under 4 months, so we had so much to do with not much time to work with. Not only did the Reverend make our ceremony more interesting and more memorable by sharing secret things that we love about each other, he also made sure that everyone was on the same page throughout the ceremony, so that everything would fall perfectly into place, which definitely took some stress off of us!
We're so glad that he was our wedding officiant! We highly recommend!!

Reverend Phil was recommended to us by our venue coordinator at The Seville in Streamwood Illinois. No better choice could have been made. From our first meeting with him over Zoom (so much easier with ours and his busy schedule and our having a toddler), we knew we were in good hands. His preparation was evident from the very start. He is meticulous in getting the details of your event (and your life!) correct, while maintaining a personal connection that makes you feel so at ease with the process. The meeting does take some time, but trust us, it is worth it when the day comes! My wife and I found Rev Phil online back in 2020 during the pandemic. We were able to do a 5 person wedding in our apartment at the time and it was great! Then 2 years later, to the day, we had him again at our celebration of marriage where we renewed our vows in front of family and friends. 2mos b/4 our wedding our church told us they could not marry us b/c my fiancé was divorced (an oversite on their part) I found Rev Phil on Wedding Wire and emailed, he emailed me back quickly and we talked the next day. Rev Phil takes this job very serious he gathers lots of details and at first you feel like what is all this about, then on the day you see why .. he is so detailed in getting information from you and your partner he tells the stories about you like a friend or family member would. His price is a bit higher and he will have some longer meetings with you , but trust the process and let him do his job b/c he is AMAZING at it. People have not stopped talking about how great the service was, and my Dad even said it was his first non-church wedding and he loved it. -

My now husband and I have been together for 10 years, yes I know crazy! But we finally decided on a date and just eloped! We went to get our license, and the only time the court has available was in April! Not going to happen.
We found Rev. Phil, and he made this bride to be happy as can be! He was able to accommodate a zoom ceremony for my husband and I.
Rev. Phil made it very intimate and rememberable for just the two of us. He read a poem calledn“The Blessing of the Hands”,
the author is unknown, and let me tell you definitely got the tears rolling!
He will definitely be coming to our actually ceremony in about 2 years! In just the time we had to talk to him, you can really tell he makes two hearts fall even harder in the special moment like this! -

Best Wedding Officiant!
We are so glad we chose Rev. Phil to officiate our September wedding! When we were looking for an officiant, we were having a difficult time finding someone who truly wanted to get to know us as a couple and make our ceremony special. I grew up Catholic and knew I wanted some traditional aspects included in our ceremony even though we were getting married in a vineyard. Luckily, we came across Rev. Phil on the Knot and we are so glad we did! It is clear Phil loves what he does and got to know us as a couple to make our ceremony unique to us and our relationship. Three months later and our guests still rave about how special our ceremony was and how much fun they had attending! Rev. Rev. Phil with "I Do" Weddings was a blessing in disguise when my husband and I were looking for the right person to perform our wedding ceremony. Getting married outside of the church, we were unsure where to even begin when it came to finding an officiant, let alone planning the entire ceremony. As it turns out, Rev. Phil is exactly who we were looking for!
From our first conversations, it was clear that Rev. Phil was interested in getting to know us as a couple; our story, how we met, who is important in our lives. It really helped everything feel personal when it came to the ceremony. As far as the ceremony goes, Rev. Phil helped plan every detail which was a huge help to us, two people who have never planned a wedding ceremony before!
In the weeks leading up to the ceremony, we were able to review and revise the "script" so it was exactly what we wanted. Our communication was excellent and incredibly easy from day one. Before the ceremony, Rev. Phil helped us run through our ceremony at our rehearsal with both our families and the wedding party. We truly feel like this helped ease our stress and worry about our actual wedding day running smoothly with no hiccups.
On the day of our wedding, Rev Phil was definitely a calming presence and it was nice that he was truly a familiar face up at the altar. Our wedding guests raved in the days to follow about how beautiful and memorable the ceremony was. It was indefinitely our absolute favorite part of our day. Rev Phil was much more than a preacher. He was my wedding planner for our 25 anniversary recommitment of our vows.
I wanted this to be a surprise and have our daughter and son serve as the best man and maid of honor.
We are approximately 6 hours from Chicago and our kids are also several hours away so coordinating the arrivals was a little tricky.
Rev Phil assisted with the location in Chicago , music ,and details in the service.
He suggested the education pavilion which worked fabulously. It is near the zoo in a garden area.
Rev Phil then put me in touch with a violinist that was absolutely phenomenal.
Being a person of detail which he is Rev Phil suggested perhaps a Champaign toast, excellent idea. My daughter took care of those details.
He asked me our plans for the rest of the day, helping set the itinerary. His next suggestion was an architectural tour that was not only informative but very interesting. Come on a gorgeous day, mid 70s on the Chicago river with a narrative of the local buildings of interest. As a water person that was perfect for me and everyone else liked it also.
When Tina and arrived I called my daughter to help que us for the wright time to arrive we walked around while everyone was getting in position, then we started towards the pavilion and Tina saw her kids standing there with Rev Phil, and the violinist. The look on Tina's face said all I needed to know, mission accomplished.
This will be a take to the grave memory for all of us but it would never have been so special with out Rev Phil's guidance. -
