Flawless Wedding Block
Our guests really enjoyed this hotel and its convenience to Insignia was ideal. It was so easy for our guests to book rooms, and they had nothing but good things to say about the accommodations. Our guests loved hanging at the bar after the wedding and ordered tons of yummy pizza/wings/quesadillas to snack on. Ashley Neubert was a DREAM to work with! She made planning the room block extremely easy. She is attentive, responsive, pleasant, and fun. She handled everything from hotel welcome bags to booking last minute rooms to setting up strawberries and champagne in our room for when the wedding was over! Thank you, Ashley!

I booked this hall for my wedding. It is a beautiful hall and great for large weddings. My contact person at the Hyatt was phenomenal. Doris is a wonderful person and really helped make my wedding so wonderful. I had an issue with one of my caterers, and Doris jumped in and helped make sure everything ran smoothly without any issues. I would call her completely stressed out with wedding plans and she would immediately feel like everything was going to be completely fine. The Hyatt staff for the most part were excellent. I even heard from some of my guests that even the bartenders at the reception were very polite and enjoyable! -

We chose the Hyatt to get ready at on our wedding day and to use for the room block for our guests. We also wanted our guests to have an after party at the hotel's bar. At first we had difficulty with the staff, as we were told untrue things about our block, however when Jessica started working in her place, she helped us to resolve all of our issues. Jessica is wonderful and very responsive when you need anything. The Hyatt is a beautiful hotel to use for your wedding block! -

My husband and I booked a large block of rooms for our wedding at the Hyatt Regency. At first I was very impressed with the level of service and organization that was presented at my first meeting with the event manager. However, months later, I come to find out that that person is no longer working there and my room block was passed to someone else, and I had a hard time getting in touch with that person. However, the guests were able to book their rooms and check in without any problems, and after the reception my husband and I also checked in to our room without any issues. The hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed the continental breakfast the next morning with our family and friends, so all in all, we have a good experience with this hotel. -

On the day of my wedding the Hyatt Regency Long Island was amazing. The food was above wonderful. Everyone is still talking about the food and the service. My issues were with the months and days leading up to my wedding. My contact person made me feel like I was a budget bride. I cried several times after having an interacting with her. If I had not already paid for this venue, I would have book another place. I had to finally hire a wedding consultant to take care of the venue. The rest of the staff at the Hyatt were amazing, accommodating, helpful and very nice. If I did not have to deal with this person, I was highly recommend this vendor. -

Hosting your wedding or wedding block here? Read this!
1. Get everything in writing on services they will provide! Even if you do get it in writing, make sure you delegate to a family member to be on top of them for your wedding weekend so they’re on top of what they stated they will do.
2. They don’t give shot glasses at a bar. Kinda weird but they have a “policy” against it. Instead, they’ll use plastic cups which will really make your wedding event look cheap.
3. They don’t provide table linens; you’ll have to acquire them from your decorator or external vendor. Just an annoying additional cost that any other venue on Long Island provides.
4. If you host a morning breakfast with them, they don’t give toasters at breakfast. Again, another weird thing to be on top of. They say the toasters are a fire hazard but that’s a lame excuse because toasters can be found in any breakfast buffet.
5. THEY RAN OUT OF PLATES AT MY WEDDING EVENT!
6. They are short on waitstaff in general, which leads to plates piling up on tables, less water refilling, etc…
7. If you plan to have a WEDDING BLOCK here you can assume rooms won’t be ready by check in. One of the key reviews of this hotel is that they never have rooms ready on time, I would either tell your guests to get ready elsewhere so they’re not relying on their hotel room to be ready before making your event. It's insane that they know it’s a common problem of rooms not being ready on time, yet nothing has been done to solve the issue. Its also 2023, can’t use the “labor shortage” excuse anymore.
8. The hotel walls are kind of thin, easy to hear other rooms. Also, in our suite the door didn't close properly. This hotel is in serious need of repairs.
9. By accident for my hotel block they gave my welcome bags out to another hotel block. Again, their front desk doesn't pay attention to details or know anything about what hotel blocks they have.
10. Rude reception and front desk.
There is a high chance that someone from the hotel will comment on this post, but nothing really will change so don’t have high expectations of this venue. Its great if you want an all-onsite wedding so guests don’t need to go elsewhere, but there will be headaches you have to deal with when hosting with them. They’re also by no means cheap either and have a higher than usual administrative cost, that to NO SHOT GLASSES or LINENS despite comparable prices to other Long Island venues, again they are not cheaper when you factor in tax and admin. For anyone looking to host here just know that you should get everything clarified beforehand. If they’re not willing to put things in writing, then do not host with them and save yourself some money but more importantly the stress and headaches.

Gave my room away and turned off the ac
This review is a long time coming. I held my wedding in the Hyatt regency Long Island 2 months prior on August 26 and it was a horrible experience. I arrived the night before to check into my room to find out they gave it away to someone else. They then promised me that it would be ready as soon as I come down in the morning. On my way out to makeup and hair I checked with the front desk to get my new room and they said it wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be for hours and it wasn’t their fault??? Going back and forth with them caused me to be late 30minutes to my makeup and hair appointment. I came back from makeup and hair 3 HOURS later and asked them for the room, and it still wasn’t ready. At this point my photographer had arrived and was now just waiting for the room. Then I told them that because they ran late with the room, my families makeup and hair artist began in our old room already and would need to continue to use for at least an hour. They proceeded to tell me that until we leave that room, I can’t get the keys to my actual room. We’re now 2.5 hrs into my photography schedule. I had to go back and forth between reception and the room with my makeup and hair done stressing because they wouldn’t give us our room. I had to beg the makeup artist to please pack up in the middle of doing my moms makeup and to move somewhere else just so I could get my room since the hotel wouldn’t give me my keys. I’m now 3 hrs into my photography schedule. By the time we shifted everything to the new room, that I should’ve received from the beginning and that I had paid EXTRA for I did not have time to take picture in my venue or reveal shots with my family. I lost out time to take getting ready pictures as well. You can imagine how disheartening and sad that is, that you planned this day for years and to have it go like that. But this is not the end. Once the reception began, they continuously lowered the ac on us- at some points turning it off. My father in law and father continuously had to go up to the manager and ask him to turn on the ac IN AUGUST because not only was I sweating through my makeup and clothes but so were all the other guest. At this point our wedding would be named the sweaty hot one with how hot it was. All in all, if it wasn’t for my family telling me to stay positive they were very close to ruining my day. And also I forgot to mention, they never served my wedding cake. Their electricity for the speakers went out multiple times in the party, halting the music and ruining the vibe on the dance floor. It’s incredibly disappointing with the amount we paid for the service we received. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Oh I should mention, they only give one room (not a suite) for DAY OF for bride and groom to share and they don’t have a bridal suite. We had to book my room separate and gave the room they offered to my husband. -

We reserved a large block of rooms for our wedding at The Hyatt Regency. While the hotel is
beautiful and everything was great with our stay that weekend, there were a lot of administrative issues the year prior that caused us some stress. Our sales representatives were all very attentive and helpful, thank goodness, but we kept getting conflicting information at the beginning. Someone told us one thing, which would differ from what someone else said, and it was difficult to get it straightened out. Also, our sales rep changed four times during that year, and we were never told, so I would be emailing someone that was no longer at the hotel wondering why I wasn’t getting an answer. The hotel booking site frequently had different information than what I had in my own records based on the contract. There were also issues when we tried to book the breakfast because they tried to change the contract 2 months after we signed it, over something extremely trivial. Just a lot of things that did not add up to good customer service. If you book here for a large event, just make sure you stay on top of things and be prepared for some headaches along the way. -

They were by the far THE WORST vendor to work with for our wedding. Amanda was a pleasure to work with, but somehow everything got screwed up. We were supposed to get a suite, and somehow they ran out of suites. They made up for it by comp-ing our room and giving us a free room to get ready in the morning of our wedding, but somehow my credit card was still charged almost $700 and I'm still waiting for them to fix this. All of my out-of-town guests had complaints ranging from key cards not working to rude employees to not getting welcome bags. I saw this place had bad reviews before we booked our hotel block here, but I didn't think it would be as bad as it was. The hotel is beautiful, unfortunately it's run by a bunch of morons. -

My husband and I started to plan our wedding, and had a venue in mind which we LOVED! We’ve helped organize several events and have never come across a management group as frustrating at Hyatt Regency in Hauppauge. For those looking to read a quick synopsis, this Hyatt location is:
- a beautiful location for a wedding, but has a frustrating management of banquet services
- disorganized and unable to communicate between their own departments
- didn't make a genuine effort to accommodate our requests (even though our wedding budget was significant)
- mandated previously-undeclared charges and changes to our Reception floor plan with 10 days of our wedding weekend.
- took as long as 2 weeks to answer simple questions (which we left via email and voicemail) – despite multiple follow ups
- reneged on several agreements and promises verbally made by previous management personnel
- the two great things about Hyatt are property & the service workers (my bridal attendant was a dream - she was AMAZING!)
- Unfortunately, even with these positive traits, we wouldn't recommend this location to our friends and family
A little more detail: we contracted with them in late 2014, at that time, with the previous Banquet Manager. By Dec 2014, she was released from Hyatt & new management took over. Agreements made at the time of signing contract (al beit verbal) were erased, replaced with requirements that we felt were unreasonable. Of course, with the significant investment already made, backing out was not an option. We were constantly told ‘no’. Our partner vendors (with combined 20+ years’ experience) even confided that they have never had such a difficult time before. Despite the positives (beautiful area, maitre-d and bridal attendant) we would not recommend this venue. -

If i could give this hotel a lower review i would, they ruined my rehearsal dinner and made no effort to make up for it. They were far and away the least hospitable and need to hire a whole new management team. The food was brought out 2 hours late, cold and rubbery and they made no effort to get it done earlier. -

I booked a block of rooms at the Hyatt Regency Long Island for my recent wedding. I can not even begin to say how disappointed and utterly disgusted I have been with their service. My guests had significant issues in booking their rooms, and were often told that there was no block under our names. In addition to that, my husband and I went to the hotel a week prior to our wedding to finalize our block. I asked to have a tour so that he could see the hotel. We were shown a beautiful bar and gorgeous suite and were told that these would all be available to us and we were guaranteed a suite in our contract. The night of our wedding we arrived at the hotel to find the bar boarded up and were told that a "make-shift" bar was setup in the basement. We went to our room and found it was a standard room. In addition to this, we have still never received a receipt of our breakfast vouchers. I have attempted to contact the hotel several times and have received no response. I continue to call and continue to leave messages. I would highly discourage any bride or patron from going to this hotel. -
