Excellent Venue, even better team!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding than the Hyatt Regency Cambridge!
Karie Duran was an absolute gem throughout the entire planning process. She is the epitome of professionalism—so organized, supportive, and genuinely dedicated to making our vision a reality. Her insightful perspective put us at ease not only on the big day but also during the lead-up to it.
On the day of the wedding, we were fortunate to have Roger on our team. He was amazing—keeping us hydrated and attentively catering to our every need. The two of them made a dream team, often anticipating our needs before we even realized them.
The food was simply outstanding! The Hyatt’s culinary team truly went above and beyond, crafting a menu that perfectly matched our tastes and impressed everyone.
The rest of the Hyatt staff mirrored their excellence. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, smiling, and ready to help, creating an atmosphere filled with good vibes.
We’re already looking forward to celebrating our anniversaries here to commemorate the stunning event the Hyatt helped us create. If you’re considering a wedding venue, look no further—this place is simply exceptional!

Fantastic venue with amazing views and service!

I can’t say enough good things about hosting a wedding at Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge! We had our reception in the Charles View Ballroom, which had gorgeous views of the Boston skyline. In addition to the stellar views and facilities, the food was phenomenal and the team was great to work with (shout out to Robert!). No detail went unnoticed and the day truly went off without a hitch. We are so happy we decided to host our wedding here and can’t recommend it enough!

Absolutely amazing vendor. They helped every step of the way! Karie and Diana were an amazing team to work with. The food was amazing! Everyone keeps talking about the food!!! The view was spectacular! Everything was AMAZING! We did the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and brunch there and I do not regret it at all.

Empress Ballroom - Amazing wedding experience

My daughter’s wedding was recently held in the Empress ballroom of the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge. The Empress ballroom has incredible views of the Boston skyline. This was a small wedding (just under 50 guests). The ceremony used a Chuppah (8 x 8). This fit well on the area normally used as the dance floor on the lower level of the ballroom, with room for 44 chairs for guests. The acoustics were good; it was not necessary to have an additional microphone/speaker for the officiant. We hired a music trio (trumpet, violin, cello) who were placed on the upper level. The music (not amplified) was easily heard in the ceremony area and cocktail area (which was placed on the upper left side of the ballroom). Our dinner was placed on the upper right side of the ballroom. It did not feel overly crowded at any point. Our live music ended with cocktail hour. We were able to connect a personal playlist during dinner using the house system. We had ample space for adding personal decorations (and we had many!) Hyatt easels were made available to us for additional signs/decorations. There are ledges in the room that are perfect for adding standing decorations. Family pictures were taken in front of the Chuppah pre-ceremony, then at the Hyatt planner’s suggestion, the extended family groups were photographed on the 16th floor, which was fortunately open that evening (which was a Sunday). This enabled a large number of family groups to be photographed and in another incredibly beautiful area of the hotel. The food was incredible, with many of our guests mentioning how much they enjoyed the filet. We had guests who had various food restrictions; the Hyatt was able to accommodate them with satisfying alternatives. We chose the personal preference menu. The Hyatt printed menus for the guests. A fun aspect of weddings at the Hyatt – the couple’s pictures are displayed on what’s called “the great wall”, which is visible from the glass elevators. It was very fun to see this “slide show” on the day of wedding. Although we were a small wedding, the Hyatt provided a room block and special rate for guests, all of whom enjoyed staying there. The honeymoon suite which was included as part of the package was beautiful and spacious; my daughter and new son-in-law really loved staying there. On the day of wedding, there was a bride’s room and a groom’s room available all day, with light beverages and pastries. These were spacious and were great “getting ready” rooms. The Hyatt day-of wedding planner was Brianna Silva. Although this was a small wedding, we felt that Brianna took care to treat it with equal attention as larger weddings there. We had pre-meetings with her that included a tasting with the chef, bar, and catering managers, a meeting to discuss details, and a lengthy rehearsal, all of which she handled with great patience and flexibility. She made quite a few creative suggestions that made the complicated day easier and more beautiful. Thank you, Brianna!

My wife and I fell in love with the Empress Ballroom and the amazing Boston skyline views! Ashley and the entire Hyatt team helped us create a wedding that was beyond our expectations! Prior to meeting with Ashley and her team, we did not have positive experiences with venues and wedding planners. The Hyatt welcomed our vision of OUR wedding and embraced the celebration of two women! We can not speak highly enough of Ashley and her team and if we could give the Hyatt 10+ stars we would! Thank you for everything from the first initial contact, to the details of the day...we are so impressed and our guests (and us) are still talking about it!

As a bride, the wedding planner, Ashley, paired with the beautiful venue truly made the day stress-free, fun and beautiful! I have absolutely no regrets about choosing the Hyatt for the wedding and Ashley made the experience seamless and enjoyable. The view, the staff and food was exceptional! The Hyatt far exceeded our expectations! Everything was just perfect and our guests still rave about the food and the beautiful venue. Ashley was such a pleasure to work with and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had our dream wedding. Even prior to the wedding day, Ashley made planning the wedding such a breeze and was always attentive, responsive, and accommodating. We definitely could not have pulled off our dream wedding without her! The entire staff at the Hyatt were also amazing. Everyone was always so professional, friendly, and made us feel special from the moment we first walked into the Hyatt to visit the venue. In particular, the bartender Maureen was such a joy to have at the bar. Our guests still talk about how sweet she was and how good her cocktails were! Thanks Hyatt for making our wedding unforgettable! Definitely recommend the Hyatt to anyone getting married in the Boston area!

Magical venue for a wedding. The view of Boston from the Charles Ballroom on the 16th floor is SPECTACULAR and will take your breath away. As fabulous as the view is, its even prettier at night. ... VERY romantic and sophisticated. Ashley Kirouac is the wedding planner. Trust her. She is the best in the business. You will read 100 reviews that all mention her by name. The evening had a flow and ease to it that our guests all commented upon. The staff and service were 5 star comparable to Ritz Carlton. Meals were served and cleared in timely manner, water and wine glasses refilled unobtrusively. Servers and bar tenders all had smiles on their faces :) <3 The event was in a word, perfect. The tasting was fun, and we HIGHLY recommend the Lobster Salad on the HOMEMADE POTATO CHIP as an appetizer. I think Ashley might have invented it lol. It was without a doubt our guests favorite (and mine!) You will have to ask for it. The chef is accomplished. Guests all loved their meals. It was a New Years Eve wedding, and the Boston fireworks were visible from the Ballroom for our guests to enjoy. We added a slider buffet at the end of the evening, and with all the dancing and drinking that evening everyone enjoyed them as well. The wedding and reception all took place in the Charles Ballroom. With record setting cold temperatures outside our guests greatly appreciated not having to go outside. With the wedding room block all guests received river view rooms which they all loved. If you enjoy a penthouse apartment with a view you'll love the suites lol. Our bride, groom and parents all reserved one and were enjoyed by all. The hotel lobby was newly renovated ;) With the biting cold temps outside we rarely left the hotel and our guests made themselves at home in the hotel bar, restaurants and lobby. Shout out to the bar tenders with the holiday cocktails, and we were all very happy with the the food inside the hotel restaurant. It was all FAB!

My wife and I wife had our ceremony in the courtyard of the Hyatt Regency, followed by reception in the Charles View Ballroom. We were delighted to work with Ashley as our coordinator, who was non-stop great throughout the whole planning process. There was nothing we didn't feel comfortable asking for, and despite our tight budget, we felt like royalty. Ashley did everything she could to make our day perfect. Maureen the bartender was also a HIT at our reception, a beloved energy.

There are great photo opportunities right within walking distance of the Hyatt, including a path on the water just across the street. The food and service were outstanding.

When I think of wedding experts, Hyatt now comes to mind! There aren't enough words to express the gratitude and appreciation we feel towards Ashley Kirouac and the Hyatt Regency team. From the day that we arrived to tour the venue through the day that we left as husband and wife, the Hyatt team was accommodating, professional and incredibly down to earth. Ashley thought of every detail along the way and even sent a framed photo of our first look to our honeymoon destination. Every bride deserves to feel like a princess on her special day and the Hyatt team does just that. You're not only royalty when you have an event there, but you also become family.

My experience with the Hyatt would not have been the same if it weren't for Ashley. From the first night that we met her, she went above and beyond at all times and made the planning process of the ceremony and reception very seamless. She checked in frequently as the wedding date approached, but was not overbearing in the questions that she asked or too pushy to get the answers, which is something that works well for me. She knew from the beginning that I wasn't into all the details, so she only asked the questions that were absolutely necessary. I am happy to say that I have made a friend out of this experience and would certainly recommend any of my friends to host their wedding at the Hyatt specifically because of her!

Not only is the Hyatt Regency Cambridge a beautiful venue with an unbeatable view of the city, but it comes with an event planning team that goes above and beyond to make your dream wedding into a reality. Ashley was with me every step of the way, answering my hundreds of questions and offering great insight. She made sure every detail was executed perfectly, and gracefully handled the very minor inevitable hiccups that occurred. Ashley and the Hyatt team gave us our perfect wedding day and we couldn't be more grateful!

I can not say enough about the wonderful people at the Hyatt!!! They made our wedding day the absolute best day ever!! Ashley Kirouac was our wedding planner and was absolutely AMAZING. She went above and beyond for us since day 1 when we signed our contract to have our wedding at the Hyatt. Our wedding day was everything we could have ever dreamed of and more, a fairy tale, and we have her to thank for that. I couldn't be happier with the service we were provided. Our experience at Hyatt Regency Cambridge was nothing short of excellent. Ashley Kirouac is unmatched in her industry and is truly a professional. Her attention to detail and responsiveness over the past year of planning was impressive to say the least. During our wedding weekend, her and the team were even more unbelievable with their attentiveness to our smallest requests. In terms of the venue, the 16th floor ballroom was beautiful, the food was great, and the atmosphere was exactly what we wished for. Everyone is still raving about the food, serving staff, and location. Anyone looking for a Boston wedding venue with an amazing view should look no further than the Hyatt Regency Cambridge. My husband and I had our wedding and reception at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge on May 2017. There has not been a day that has passed where I have not thought about that day, how perfect everything was, and how I would give just about anything to relive it just one more time.

Ashley and the entire team at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge were accommodating, hard working, kind, respectful, and 100% dedicated to making my wedding go exactly as I had envisioned it (we had an Iranian wedding that had tons of specific details and Ashley made sure to take care of each single detail). Not only did everything go as planned, everything more than exceeded my expectations. If you want to enjoy every aspect of your day and have guests tell you that your wedding was, "the best they have ever been to," then Hyatt Regency Cambridge and its wonderful wedding manager Ashley is for you. Ashley never once lost her patience with my family. On the day of I was absolutely amazed at the handwork that everyone put in... As a part of our wedding package we were offered an amazing suite for the night of our wedding. Such a bonus for one of the most tiring (and yet exciting) night of our life.

Now about the venue: The venue is absolutely stunning. The Charles View ballroom and its stunning view was the reason I chose this place. The amazing food was a bonus. We had a great tasting session with our wonderful chef and I can tell that the chef is very professional and amazing to work with.

I truly recommend the Hyatt Regency Cambridge and its dedicated team to anyone looking for the most perfect wedding venue.

We were so happy with our choice of the Hyatt in Cambridge. We looked at 12 venues around Boston and we are confident that we made the absolute best choice for us. We wanted a view of Boston and in my opinion, the Charles River View Room at this Hyatt is the best view of Boston in the whole city. (our 2nd choice was the State Room, also with a nice view, but it is more a view of the harbor and the place had a much more corporate and business event feel that wasn't for us. The Hyatt staff was warm, detail-oriented, personal and put us at ease, knowing we could trust Ashley Kirouac and her entire team. We felt like the staff got to know and care about us as a couple. We didn't feel like we were just another wedding to tick off. Another thing to mention is that the food was AMAZING. Chris, the chef, did an exceptional job and everyone at the wedding is still talking about the appetizers that we chose (lobster salad on a homemade potato chip, seared scallop, thai chicken and several others). The salads and the main courses were also exceptional. I had the seared halibut with corn and lobster succotash and chive oil. Wow! The filet was also fantastic. Every detail came together perfectly, from the coordination with the DJ, to the cocktail hour, the dinner and dancing and even a casual brunch the next day. The package was also reasonably priced compared to some other venues and we earned a whole bunch of Hyatt points due to the package bonus and getting a Hyatt credit card to pay for much of the wedding. We now have 7 free nights at any Hyatt in the world! Overall we felt very taken care of and the staff (Ashley, Allison,Chris (our chef), the bartenders, the waitstaff were all wonderful. We could not have been happier. Perfect view, perfect food and a professional attentive staff. What a wonderful experience. Thank you Hyatt.

We got married at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge, and we are so happy we chose them as a venue!

We checked out many venues in the Boston area, but the Hyatt won us over with two main things: First, the view from the Charle View Ballroom can not be beat. It's a beautiful view of the Boston skyline, and is breathtaking no matter what the weather is like outside. Second, and equally if not more importantly, we felt like we were in the best event planning hands in the city with Ashley Kirouac. She is incredibly friendly, smart, and professional. She managed the event planning process at the Hyatt from A to Z and her expertise really shined. We always felt like she had things under control, and trusted her completely! If we had to do it all over again, we wouldn't change a thing.

Aside from the view and event management, the Hyatt itself is an all around fantastic hotel with great accommodations, food, and service. Any of our guests who stayed at the hotel were raving about their visits. It is conveniently located on Memorial Drive, just across the river from Boston. It is easy for guests to get there by car, cab, or public transportation, and ideally located for any guests who want to play tourists while they are in town. There is a Starbucks in the lobby which is perfect for anyone who needs coffee close at hand!

Overall pricing was fair compared to other event reception pricing we were seeing in the area. Similar to some comparable venues, and more competitive pricing than some as well.

After our reception, we went to the hotel bar until they closed. A lot of us went down to keep celebrating, and there was ample room for a crowd, both inside and outside on the patio if the weather is nice.

We are so happy we chose they Hyatt, and are so thankful to Ashley and her team for being amazing!

We cannot thank the Hyatt Regency Cambridge enough for making our wedding days go smoothly. Ashley Kirouac and her entire team were amazing. During the entire wedding planning process Ashley was responsive and even provided great suggestions. She arranged multiple tours over the months, any time we wanted to go in, and even did a dry run through for us. During the weekend of our two day wedding, everything went seamlessly. Our family and friends still rave about the staff at the Hyatt, because they were all so caring, attentive and efficient. Aside from the excellent service, the venue itself is gorgeous. The Charles Riverview ballroom overlooked the Boston Skyline and left our guests speechless. Our 2nd day wedding took place in the Presidential ballroom. The enormous doors, the new chandeliers and updated finishings, made this room exquisite, and that was before all of the other bells and whistles. I feel like we couldn't have found a better place to have gotten married, but even more so, couldn't have found a better team. Ashley, Cherise, Bill everyone else's names that I am forgetting- all of you! We cannot thank you enough, you guys were the A team, especially to have put up with a big wedding, multi day event. You guys were amazing, and anyone would be lucky to work with you.

Wow. The Hyatt food portions were very very impressive!! All my guests were talking about it!! The Charles river ballroom was amazing and the staff went above and beyond. Ashley, was so awesome to work with and it was fabulous!!!!! If you don't consider the Hyatt you ARE missing a gem location. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!

The venue was gorgeous and had beautiful views of the city and Charles river. The food was excellent. Ashley and her team were extremely professional and extremely understanding. They genuinely wanted us to have a worry free event, and they delivered! Even before the event, Ashley was always available to discuss any questions. She provided us multiple options that worked great within our budget.

We would highly recommend the venue and the team.

We worked with Manda and she was just fabulous. She had I probably exchanged 38796 emails and by the end of it, I felt like she was a friend. She was more than accommodating when it came to our requests and even more accommodating when it came to my parents. My father is not in the best health and Manda went above and beyond when it came to ensure that his room was easily accessible, carts were available, etc. This was extremely touching and meant the world to my family and I.
She was great when it came to giving advice on how to set things up, what the timelines should be, food, etc.
We also worked with Scott on the actual wedding day- he was an angel!!! If I needed ANYTHING- he was there. As embarrassing as it is, I fell and hit my head... he was right there with ice and of course, a drink refill :). He also worked with the staff to ensure that all of our gift, decorations, etc all made it back up to our room.
When we arrived to our suite, we found a present from Manda- champagne, strawberries, chocolate... delish!!!

All and all, the Hyatt is breathtaking and the staff that we worked with was top-notch. If you are looking for a place to have an elegant bay wedding- this is the place!

Our wedding at the Cambridge Regency Hyatt was spectacular! We had our ceremony in their outdoor tent right on the river and we had our reception in the Charles View Ballroom. The view from the ballroom was absolutely spectacular and worth every penny. How can you beat floor to ceiling windows right on the river? We worked with Robert to get all of our details finalized. He was great to work with. He was very helpful and made sure our day ran very smoothly. We also worked with Fabrina who was also incredibly helpful. This venue has amazing views of Boston and Cambridge. I would definitely have another event there.

The service was great, the employees generally were happy to help and respond to any questions or needs we had. They made many accomodations with food, rooms, etc. The convenience and luxery of the ceremony and reception held at the same location was fabulous! Our guests also stayed at the hotel which was very nice, as well as the honeymoon suite which was so beautiful! The tent made a great place for the ceremony!

While there were bumps and bruises on the way to the wedding weekend (none of which were caused by the hotel), the event was a total success. The bride spent 3/4 of her time smiling from ear to ear and the other 1/4 crying tears of joy. Every detail was foreseen and dealt with. Ashley and her staff were the epitome of professionalism. I would use this venue again in a heartbeat.

This venue has a great of Boston and the Charles River. You do have the option to get married in their Courtyard, which is nice to have the option to get married outside, and if there are any problems weather, they do reserve a backup room. Ashley was just awesome to work with and we highly recommend her. We didn't have to hire a wedding planner because they took care of so much and setup the room the day of the wedding.

We chose to have our wedding ceremony and reception at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, MA. The moment we stepped foot in the Charlesview Ballroom we know immediately it was where we wanted to have our wedding. Being a Boston native, I can honestly say it is definitely one of the best views of the Boston skyline. From beginning to the end of the wedding planning process, the Hyatt staff has been amazing. Our wedding coordinator, Lindsay Barton, was attentive and made sure our wedding was everything we dreamed of. The rest of the staff that worked our wedding made sure that we were tended to. We never had to ask for anything because the staff was always a step ahead of me. We love the venue and loved our experience with the staff. Simply amazing and accommodating.

It was easy to continue adding on to our budget, but working with Ashley, she was very transparent with the breakdown of the total. We were even able to work with a few things to change things up to something that better fit us (ie, didn't get the huge traditional wedding cake) and she definitely kept her promise with getting us some great craft beers as my husband is a huge craft beer fan. And with the gorgeous view on the top floor, you don't have to go too crazy with decorations. The Boston skyline wows your guests for you. And we haven't stopped hearing from guests saying how great the food was either. The chef did a great job and even made time to come out and check in with us and our parents to see how everything tasted. I can't speak enough for the level of service and professionalism starting from check in to check out. So many things could have gone wrong, but I knew I was in good hands, so I stayed pretty calm throughout the whole day. One thing I was worried about was getting to the church on time, and Ashley made sure to get me moving out of the wedding suite to the limo with time to spare! We were even able to stop for photos in the beautiful glass elevator on our way down. I've heard from so many people that you never get to eat at your wedding, well that wasn't the case for us. Once we arrived at the Hyatt after the ceremony, we had our private room with the delicious hor d'oeuvres and our favorites drinks (plus our parents favorites) waiting for us. I could go on and on, but I'll leave it with, you won't be disappointed if you hold your reception at the Hyatt Cambridge.

My wedding was exactly what I wanted! It was perfect and that was thanks to Ashley, the event coordinator at the Hyatt. She was great from getting me started with first steps and planning ideas (since I was totally lost) to guiding me through the entire process. If I had to do it all over again, I would not have a changed a thing!

We decided to look at the Hyatt in Cambridge based on a recommendation from our caterer (Masala Art). We wanted to do an Indian buffet wedding and the Hyatt is one of the hotels they routinely worked with. I was skeptical it would be in our price range but we were pleasantly surprised by their Indian wedding package! When we walked into the Charles River Ballroom, the view of Boston blew us away and we knew we wanted to get married there. I really wanted an outside ceremony, so we also really happy that they have a gorgeous little courtyard that was perfect for our ceremony. We worked with Robert Goehring in the catering department and he was fantastic. They aren’t super fast to respond when your wedding is a few months out (since they do so many events) but they always answered our questions and were very good to work with. They week and day of the wedding, they were fantastic! Everything was set up perfectly, the room was beautiful and they did a great job. The suite they gave us for the night was awesome too!

I would definitely recommend the Hyatt Regency, Cambridge, to anyone who is looking to host a wedding or similar event in the Cambridge/Boston area. Ashley Kirouac and her team were caring, flexible, and helpful through the entire process. The Hyatt offers everything we needed from parking for guests to amazing photo opportunities. They took all of the guesswork out of planning exactly what we wanted even when we had unique ideas and requests. Guests raved about the view from the Empress Ballroom as well as the tasty food. We loved having our wedding at the Hyatt Regency! We had our ceremony and cocktail hour in the Riverside Pavilion (the big white tent) and our reception upstairs on the 16th floor in the Charles View Ballroom, which has an amazing view of the whole city. We signed up with Jennifer Skeber in the Catering Dept, but then she was replaced by Lindsey Barton, who was fantastic. She always responded to our emails right away (except when she had an Out of Office up, but you can’t blame her for that: we wouldn’t have wanted her on email on our wedding day either!) and was responsive and courteous throughout the process. She always explained things to us that seemed confusing and went above and beyond to make the planning easy. She was willing to negotiate with us on pricing and even let us change our head count a few days before the wedding. One small criticism we had is that it seemed at times like the Catering Dept. would have benefitted from having a few more employees than they did: the weekend of our wedding there were many weddings going on and it seemed like Lindsey was in charge of all of them, making her less available for us when we needed her.
The front desk and the billing department definitely needed some hand-holding: we’d negotiated a certain price for our guests and for ourselves, and yet many people were still charged a higher rate, which required a lot of extra work on our part to continually remind the front desk of our negotiated rate. The weekend of the wedding was a lot better though: the front desk was very accommodating with early check-in and our guests had no problems receiving the rooms they requested. They also handed out welcome gifts to everyone at no extra charge. The rooms are newly renovated and were beautiful—especially the bridal suite, which was bigger than our New York City apartment!
The food at the Hyatt was amazing: many people told us that it was the best wedding food they’d ever had. The chef was very willing to work with us to change items or replace items as needed during our tasting, and the food day of was just as good as we remembered it from the tasting. We appreciated the extra touches the Hyatt provided, such as a “tuxedo strawberry” (chocolate-covered strawberry) that accompanied our wedding cake. Because the Hyatt isn’t in close proximity to a lot of other food options (one small negative, but manageable), we ate our meals all weekend in the Zephyr Restaurant, but were always very impressed with the food quality.
The day of the wedding, everything went fairly smoothly. We had some issues with our florist arriving late and getting confused as to set-up and timing, but Lindsey did her best to keep the day—and the florist—on track. Since the weather was beautiful, we had many different options for beautiful outdoor scenes for which to take portraits, which was an unexpected bonus. The wait and bar staff did a good job, and we received everything we needed at the end of the weekend (such as our cake topper and the materials we’d used to decorate our chuppah).
Overall, I definitely recommend having your wedding at the Hyatt Regency: fantastic food, courteous and attentive staff, and a view to die for. Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be!

We had our wedding at the Hyatt on NYE and it was wonderful! Ashley was our event coordinator and she was super helpful throughout the entire planning process. The Hyatt was AMAZING for our wedding. They were able to accommodate all the requests we had and made the day very easy for us. The Hyatt was amazing! We were looking to have an outdoor ceremony and a reception site that had a gorgeous view of Boston. We got all of that and more! We worked closely with Alison. She was personable and professional throughout the process and was accommodating to all of our requests! The Hyatt was extremely flexible with the wedding package and we got everything we wanted. The wedding day went off mostly without issue and we had a wonderful day. Every guest raved about the Boston skyline view from the Charles View Ballroom and the weather was perfect for our courtyard ceremony. Additionally, the wait staff was speedy and hard working. We would recommend this venue to a friend!

Location and views can't be beat!

We were thrilled with the Hyatt Regency as the venue for our wedding in January - amazing views, great flexibility from the events team, and right in the heart of Cambridge! The Hyatt Regency Cambridge is a hidden gem in the Boston and Cambridge area. The value you get for the price is arguably unbeatable. I was able to get my city wedding without the city cost. I loved the modern feel of the Charles View Ballroom and its view! I had a tremendous amount of compliments on the presentation and especially the taste of the food. To those who are intimidated by the online pricing, negotiate, negotiate, negotiate! The catering staff will work with your budget.

Now the areas for improvement: My original contact person left and I ended up working with Jenn. She got the job done, but I did not feel much warmth in her personality. On the wedding day, there was a lot of confusion as to where the guys would be getting ready. My fiance and his groomsmen stood around the hotel lobby for 20 long minutes before anyone came to direct them where to go. I also later found out that the wait staff was overly anxious to clear food plates from guests before they were finished eating. For any future brides, communicate to the Hyatt to take it easy. My family felt like they had to protect their food because plates kept disappearing.

The fire alarm sirens and bright lights unexpectedly came on during my wedding reception. We were told the lights could not be turned off until the situation was attended to. The lights remained on even after the alarm was eventually stopped. After some emails and negotiating, we were able to work out a fair compensation.

Overall, amazing food, view and value.

I did like this vendor and I would most probably use them again but there were a couple of snafus:

1) My original event coordinator quit partway through the planning process and I had to start again with another person. They couldn't help this and handled it very professionally, so it was a minor nuisance. The new event manager called me up and set up an appointment to make sure nothing was overlooked during the change.

2) The wedding room block: About 70% of my guests were out of town and many stayed at the hotel. I reserved several rooms for 3 nights each for the wedding party. I had booked a reservation for my in-laws, my family, my husband, me and my bridesmaids, my priest etc. all in a row so people could stay together and insisted on all double rooms. When we got to the hotel for the wedding weekend, the rooms weren't ready on-time - it was very late afternoon by the time they opened up and furthermore - they had sold all the double rooms to a frat convention and changed my rooms into king suites. Well, given the number of people I had planned into each room, this wouldn't work - so 2 days before my wedding I was yelling at the desk clerk telling him he HAD to give me all double rooms. Well, they finally did give me double rooms but they were scattered all throughout the 12 or so stories of the hotel. This made it really difficult getting ready for the wedding since my parents were on one floor and they had brought me jewelry etc. I had planned for all these rooms together so that my party could get their hair done in one room, get dressed in the next and that everyone could help each other getting ready. I spent my wedding morning running from one floor to the next and it would have been more fun and less stress to have everyone together.

The hotel did apologize and send me complimentary wine and dessert. Point being, if you use this vendor and reserve a block of rooms that you want together, make sure you confirm and also make sure the event coordinator is on top of this.

3) We didn't get to eat any of the reception food (beware all brides! you probably won't get to eat the food either) because all our guests wanted to visit with us. We asked a server to set aside plates for us with a little of everything so we could eat later in our honeymoon suite. He saved us one styrofoam box so overloaded with only the Indian food (we had both Indian food and prime rib) that it broke and spilled all over the hotel fridge...My hubby was disappointed because he wanted the prime rib :(. We also didn't get slices of cake. - Just to be on the safe side...if you are looking forward to the wedding food ask your event coordinator to set aside 2 plates and cake slices and specify what you want.

The good stuff:
1) The event coordinator was very helpful and easy to work with. After the mistake above, everything else went SUPER!

2) I really wanted the gold chiavari chairs but decided to forego them to save the $700 rental fee. As it turned out, the bride using the reception room the day before me had rented them and the rental company didn't want to pick them up until a few days later. My event coordinator called me and asked if I would like to use these chairs free of charge! I thought that was very perceptive and really nice of them to offer. (they probably also didn't want to move the chairs - but in the end I got the chairs I wanted for free).

3) The food was really good at the tasting - like I mentioned above, we didn't actually get to eat the wedding food :(.

4) Very reasonably priced for Boston/Cambridge.

5) We used the Empress room which has a great dance floor with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Charles. We got a great view both early in the evening and later at night of the Boston skyline.

6) Very accommodating....we needed both Indian food and American because we are interracial and they worked with us to get us the perfect blend of both cuisines for the dinner buffet and the appetizers. I also needed a 5 hour bar, but didn't want to pay for alcohol for guests that were under 21 and they worked this out with me too.....very flexible in meeting our demands and that of our respective cultures

Everyone at the Hyatt was wonderful and it was a lovely space for our event! We had a few snafus in communication/responsiveness (for example, one of our guests was supposed to be given an upgrade and it somehow never happened the weekend of!!) but overall it went very smoothly! The food was delicious and the professional staff was so kind and helpful, I couldn't have imagined a better fit for us.

Absolutely beautiful place to get married. Worked with Kate and she was wonderful! Everything went smoothly and would recommend it to anyone. Family all loved staying there, kid friendly. And plus got 5 free nights for our honeymoon!

The staff at the hotel were very accomodating and friendly. Our wedding coordinator was great to work with, though she left her position at the hotel 3 days before our wedding. This was very unsettling, however, her boss stepped in and was incredibly responsive, flexible and a real pleasure to work with. The concierge/ bell staff were friendly, but a little slow in responding to requests. Our florist forgot the flower girl's flowers and ran back to the shop to get them and then ran back to the hotel to drop them off. She left them with the concierge, who never got them to us.

The Hyatt was really expensive but we basically bartered with them to bring the cost down per person, as well as the food minimum. We also asked for more perks comparing other offers from other hotels nearby. They finally gave in after we decided to walk away. I think the only reason why they were flexible with us was because we booked our wedding only 5 months in advance. The view here is the best in Boston, gorgeous. The food at the reception was pretty good but we hoped for better. The gnocchi was dry and some people thought their steaks were overdone. The wedding coordinator was great. She was easy to get a hold of and responsive. We really only dealt with her and she was great, but only after we showed disspointment in certain things (price especially).

Used the Hyatt Regency for m bridal shower. Very beautiful room with lovely views of Boston. Our planner was very unresponsive at times--it would take days to answer simple emails. Food was good, but portions were small. The event was lovely, but ended poorly. Some of our gifts were damaged when the hotel transported them downstairs to the car. They initially tried to suggest it was out fault, and after several weeks of complaining, apologized and reimbursed us for the damage.
