Hunt Valley Catering catered our 100 person wedding at Gramercy Mansion.
We worked with Darlene for the planning process and we were pleased with how accomodating she was. My wife doesn't drink beer or wine but HVC was able to supply Surfside canned cocktails for our wedding. My sister is pregnant and HVC made sure that she had sprite in her champagne glass. My friend has a nut and dairy allergy and HVC provided her salad without pecans or cheese.
The day of the wedding, HVC arrived on time and quickly set up the tables at our venue. We had a slight change in our table configuration plans the day before the wedding, but the team was able to easily accomodate us.
We had a buffet dinner with chicken piccata, London broil, and penne pasta. The food was good and we received several compliments from our guests.
For dessert, my wife baked our wedding cake and HVC happily cut it and served it to our guests.
Overall, we were very pleased with Hunt Valley Catering because of their affordability and flexibility. -

Darlene and her entire team at Hunt Valley Catering were absolutely amazing!!! From our first tasting all the way to post wedding, Darlene made sure all the details were absolutely perfect. The food quality and taste was phenomenal. So many of our guests came up to us raving about the food (and they were all compliments of different dishes)! My husband and I are from Florida, so we were worried about not being able to be super “hands on” when planning the menu / accommodating all of our guests. Darlene helped ease this stress and she was able to provide us with so many options - to make sure all of our guests were happy. Lastly, the staff working the wedding were some of the nicest people I have ever met- extremely attentive, very kind, and very efficient in making sure our plated dinners got served quickly and to the right guests. I cannot recommend Hunt Valley Catering enough!! -

We could not be more thrilled with Hunt Valley Catering and their exceptional service for our wedding at Gramercy Mansion! From start to finish, Darlene and her team were a dream to work with. They were familiar with the venue inside and out, which made the entire planning and execution process seamless.
We had a fantastic tasting experience in which every detail was thoughtfully curated, and we were able to not only sample the delicious menu options but also select our linen colors and napkin styles in person. It was such a fun and personal touch that helped us visualize the reception coming together.
On the big day, everything ran smoothly thanks to their attentive, professional, and genuinely kind staff.
Now, as to the food, it was phenomenal. The Mini Philly Cheesesteaks and Coconut Chicken were huge hits during cocktail hour, and the warm Brie Torte was both elegant and delicious. Dinner was set up via buffet and tables were called up in pairs. All in all, everyone was well-fed and served on time. We still hear people raving about the London Broil and the creamy Au Gratin Potatoes! Darlene's team was very attentive towards our guests with dietary restrictions as well, which was especially important for us. The open bar setup we went with was well-done, and guests really appreciate the variety available to them.
Hunt Valley also managed all the little touches of the reception (cake cutting, placing out our favors, coordinating linens), and they did it all with grace and precision. We felt completely taken care of and at ease.

We had a great experience with Hunt Valley! Darlene was extremely responsive to all of our initial questions about menu options, pricing, and every possible iteration of services Hunt Valley offered. We ended up putting together a package with them that included a seated meal, late night snack, and bar setups with mixers and we provided our own alcohol. I got quotes from at least five vendors, and Hunt Valley provided the most flexibility with food and bar options. They were the only vendor willing to offer more than two entree choices for a seated meal. They also had the most reasonably priced meal prices.
We did two different tastings with Hunt Valley and they were kind and accommodating at each. They were happy to schedule a second tasting to help us finalize our meal and table setting choices. They were comfortable making our three signature cocktails and setting up the bar using alcohol we ordered from a different vendor.
The month before the wedding, Darlene attended a two-hour meeting with our day-of coordinator and venue coordinator to make sure we were on track for wedding day. She was organized, professional, and great to work with. Throughout the planning process, she was always available to answer questions or address concerns. As we made changes to menu and tables, Darlene adapted perfectly.
Wedding day service was seamless. Aside from a bit of a line at the beginning of happy hour (which I've experienced at every wedding I've ever attended), drink service during the wedding was seamless. I also appreciated that, when my husband and I joined everyone for cocktail hour, a waitress found me and brought us a large plate with an assortment of several of each appetizer so we could make sure to enjoy everything.
Dinner service finished on time and not only did I hear no complaints about the food, but I heard a lot of compliments as well! We ended up adding a late-night snack in the month before the wedding, and guests raved about that too! Weeks after the wedding, I still have friends telling me how much they enjoyed the taste of everything.
Finally, we heard from our day-of coordinator that Hunt Valley's staff were indispensable in the set-up process. We had a lot of decor items, and they went above and beyond setting up the tables with these extra items. They also lent a hand to the day-of coordinator at the end of the night, carrying alcohol out of the venue and placing it in one of our cars.
Overall, we are really happy with Hunt Valley from start to finish. -

We were in great hands form the start. We knew the food was going to be amazing but were so pleased to have them guide us on the day of the event. The bartenders were personable and friendly, and the servers were discreet and so helpful!! Best day ever! -

I am so happy we booked Hunt Valley Catering! They catered our wedding at Gramercy Mansion on 5/30/24. We have worked with Darlene for over a year planning this event and throughout the whole process she answered all of my questions, emails and concerns. At the wedding we had a buffet with crabcakes, hunter chicken, roasted corn and zucchini, alfredo fettucine and scalloped potatoes. Regarding the food, everyone was extremely impressed! Even my brother who is a chef was raving about the chicken and couldn't believe it was so tender! I am a bit of a crabcake snob and was very impressed by the lump crab cakes they made! My husband and I were way too nervous and didn't get to eat much so Darlene's team worked with my Day of Coordinator and my mom to box us up meals to eat later on the night. I was ELATED seeing those meals in my mini fridge and that I actually got a chance to enjoy the food.
Believe it or not, Hunt Valley Catering was the most cost-effective caterer I found that my venue partnered with. Other caterers charged astronomically more so very early on in the process I wasn't sure of the service/quality/etc. I would receive. However, I can confidently say I received the best service possible and I am incredibly happy with the value and quality of everything they offered. Darlene knocked it out of the park and everything was top notch quality. I can't thank Darlene and her team enough. Not only for the excellent food and drinks, but the service they provided with the cookie table, the linens, the guest experience and everything in between!! -

Darlene was so easy to work with and her team did an incredible job. Everyone complimented the food, Darlene was so responsive and kind and friendly. My only complaint is that we got crab cakes (because we live in Baltimore), and almost everyone who had a crabcake said that there was shell in their crab cake.Hunt Valley Catering's reply:

Thank you for the nice review and for the opportunity to work with you. Your reception was wonderful. We only use 100% fresh crabmeat for our special blend of crabcakes. Nothing is ever served that was pasteurized out of a can. Many establishments use canned crabmeat, because of its low shell content. It is more prevalent with fresh crabmeat. We do our best to remove as many shells as we can, but sometimes we can't get it all. Thank you again and Congratulations! -

From the beginning Darlene had helped plan our wedding reception at Jarrettsville Gardens. Always in contact explaining what our options for food and bar. We had a tasting of 3 different dinner selections and samplings of Hors d'oeuvres. We were able to customize what we wanted. Darlene worked with us explaining everything as the wedding date was approaching . If I had a concern she would always get back to me. Everything was handled with professional care. From the signed contract to our Wedding day. I had no worries. My now Husband Larry and I want to say everything was superb. Everyone raved about the food and there was plenty of it. The kind lady in charge of the food preparation was always checking with us to make sure everything was OK. Wonderful food, Bar tender and staff,

Darlene and her team are absolutely phenomenal! From the food tasting to the actual day of our wedding, she was so helpful and responsive. Any time I had a question or wanted to make a change, she was always accommodating. I can’t heap enough praise for how the food turned out either. Everything from the passed hors d’oeuvres, to the bruschetta station, to the plated meal was outstanding. Our guests were raving about the food!
The staff was respectful, attentive, and on time with each portion of our wedding timeline. I would absolutely use them again for any of our future catering needs. Thank you so much!

Where do I even begin? From the beginning, my husband and I agreed that food was the most important part of our wedding so our choice had to be exceptional, and Hunt Valley Catering far exceeded this expectation. This was my first time working with a catering company and I cannot have imagined a better experience. This incredible company will provide you with the pinnacle of elegant dining from a warm, family-owned business. Darlene was incredibly responsive throughout the whole process, both with me and my family members. She put on an amazing tasting experience, and everything we tried was unbelievably good. On our wedding day, the food was even better! All of our guests raved that it was the best wedding food they had ever had, that everything was so elegantly presented, and the caterers went above and beyond with their service. My husband and I are especially grateful to our lead caterer Jorge, who really made our wedding special. Jorge led us through our walk-through the week before the wedding and put all our jitters at ease, addressing every detail of the wedding timeline and set up so it was exactly what we wanted. On the wedding day, our cake had a fall and partially crumbled, and Jorge magically fixed it so I didn’t notice anything was wrong until I was told the next day! He ensured that my husband and I were never without a drink in hand and that we had a full plate of leftovers to take home and enjoy. Jorge is the best and our wedding was so much better for him being a part of the day! Everything went smoothly on an incredibly logistically complicated day and I am so glad I had Hunt Valley Catering to coordinate such a perfect wedding. -

Wonderful caterer!
Hunt Valley Catering did an amazing job catering our welcome reception and our wedding! The food and service was fantastic and they accommodated all of our requests! They made sure my groom and I were always stocked with appetizers and drinks during cocktail hour and dinner so we could enjoy it all as well. We received many compliments from our guests about how great the food was! Our photographer even was impressed as they provided all the vendor meals right as guests were eating so they could all eat and be ready to go! 10/10 recommend them! -

My new husband and I are so pleased with Hunt Valley Catering. Out of all the companies we considered, they had the most delicious food by far, AND they were one of the most affordable! From start to finish Hunt Valley Catering was amazing to work with. They are so reasonable and their food is delicious! The presentation was everything I wanted for my wedding. I was orginally supposed to have my wedding on 3.21.2020 but due to coronavirus everything was shut down that week. We had to postpone our reception twice. Darlene didn't just want to get the job done she truly cared. I felt like she was just as devastated as I was to have to postpone. She did everything she could to make sure our experience, even with restrictions, was just as we wanted. I could not have asked for a better experience with a catering company. Everyone has not stopped talking about all of the food at our wedding! The French onion soup and mac & cheese hors d'oeuvres were a hit!! -

Hunt Valley Catering did a fantastic job catering my 9/6/19 wedding! The food was delicious (especially the crab cakes), and the service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make sure my new husband and I were taken care of--they had a plate of appetizers ready for us as we finished up post-ceremony photos and they made sure we had a full drink throughout the night. Darlene and her team were wonderful to work with throughout the process, and she was always very responsive to our questions. Hunt Valley catering was absolutely amazing. Darlene was so great and so professional, she kept me on schedule even after I had a few cocktails. They set us so quickly just how I wanted and tore down in no time. The food was delicious and we received so many compliments, many people saying it was the best wedding food they ever had. The bartenders were quick and very personable. We had about 84 people at our wedding and the prices with open bar were very reasonable. We We’re able to have a filet and crab cake dish like we originally wanted with out spending an arm and a leg. My husband and I highly recommend hunt valley catering. -

Amazing August Wedding!
My husband and I got married in August 2019 and had been working with Darlene and Jim since October 2018. Darlene is MORE than accommodating and was always an email/phone call away. All of my wedding planning questions were answered with respect and ease; I did not doubt her expertise once. Darlene helped us design an amazing menu from start to finish - our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food! The service was also tremendous- the wait staff kept saving plates of apps for my husband and I during our photo sessions. The weather was a little warm and our guests never once complained due to the fact they always had food and drink. They even accommodated us by allowing us to have my cousin’s oyster bar with no questions asked, we truly appreciated that. Darlene helped with it all, right down to the table runners and napkins! Thank you Darlene and Jim, we will continue to recommend your excellent services! We truly had the best day of our lives and we couldn’t be more grateful for your support. -

I could not have picked a better company for our catering. Their food is absolutely amazing! We had four passed and two stationary appetizers, salad, three entree selections and two sides. Our guests could not stop talking about how much they loved the food. Not a single person left hungry! We also had excellent bar service provided by Hunt Valley. The staff was absolutely amazing and incredibly attentive. They made sure I had my own plate of appetizers (the mini cheesesteaks are the bomb!) and constantly checked on us. My Husband and I did not have to go to the bar the entire evening because they always made sure our drinks were full! I 100% would recommend them for weddings and will definitely use them for any catered events I have in the future! -

Wow! We used Hunt Valley Caterers for my daughters wedding May 18, 2019 and they were amazing! From out first meeting with Darlene, she made us feel so at ease and comfortable that everything would be handled with professionalism and care. Any questions we had were answered with promptness and efficiency. The day of the wedding during setup the catering staff was very efficient, helpful, courteous and happy. During pictures they made sure the bridal party had hors d'oeuvres and drinks The cocktail hour for our guests was set up beautifully and was delicious. During dinner the wait service was discreet and efficient. I cannot tell you how many compliments I had about the wait service and the many special touches they showed our family and friends. Two times that stand out in my mind are when they helped an elderly Aunt in a wheel chair with her dinner. They came to her table and told her what was on the menu, took her request, got her a plate and served her. She was so appreciative that she didn't have to go in the buffet line or have her daughter go up twice. Another set of wait staff saw my niece with my 2 yr old great niece and brought her a plate of mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, strawberries and a special drink all fancied up with fruit! Greta was so excited to be like the big girls! Its those small touches that made us feel like we were their best friends and they really wanted us to have a special day and it really mattered to them. I'm sure there were many other incidents of their help throughout the day that I didn't see but I'm sure it didn't stop there. Everyone told me it was the best food that they had ever had at a wedding. Sugar Bakers did a phenomenal job with the cake it was delicious and beautiful. I would recommend Hunt Valley Caterer a thousand times over to anyone and everyone. When I think of that day even now I get a tear in my eye because it could not have been more perfect and they had so much to do with that. Darlene you should be very proud of your staff. We found Hunt Valley Catering through our venue.
We went for a tasting with Darlene at their main site and instantly knew we had to have them as a part of our December 2018 wedding.
Darlene was a big part of our wedding planning and even did a full walk through with us at our venue. She was attentive and patient with each question I had leading up to and after our big day (and trust me, it was a lot of questions).
The staff the day of set up our tables and chairs, provided our linens, and served our guests with the best service. Each person we met was nicer than the last!! Jorge was absolutely amazing! He made sure my husband and I were taken care of the entire night.
We could not have asked for better service or a better overall experience. Highly recommend!!! -

We cannot say enough good things about Hunt Valley Catering. We had a fusion Indian/American wedding this past Saturday and Darlene and the rest of the Hunt Valley Catering staff were so absolutely wonderful. Our wedding was a little tricky, we needed to have Indian food for guests that wouldn't eat American food and that meant having an Indian restaurant drop off the Indian food to the Hunt Valley staff to be served with the menu we had selected from Hunt Valley Catering. Darlene made the process so easy and every time I had a question or I thought of something new I wanted, Darlene answered my emails back right away. When I had a crazy idea (like wanting 225 cookies to be delivered and set up or wanting the bar to open prior to the ceremony), Darlene was able to arrange it so that everything was taken care of. On the day of, Jorge, our Catering Captain, made sure that we had all of the food we needed, he frequently came up and asked us if he could get us anything, he even helped us get milk in champagne flutes for a picture of us eating milk and cookies. Guests came up to us and complimented the food nonstop, even on Sunday our guests were texting us about how amazing Hunt Valley Catering's food was. If we had to redo the whole thing, I would rebook Hunt Valley Catering every single time. -

Hunt Valley did a great job catering our wedding. During the planning process, Darlene was wonderful. I probably asked her the same questions several times and emailed her multiple times a week, but she was always helpful and very nice! We got the steak and crab cake duet and it was delicious! Cocktail hour was great as well! Everything we ate was perfect! Servers were really professional and pleasant as well. The bartenders were quick and we were just really happy overall with Hunt Valley. -

Although I didn't get to eat on my wedding day I received so many compliments on how delicious all the food was that night and was not just typical "wedding food". Everything was professional and things ran very smooth with service that night from cocktail hour, to the reception and even with cutting our wedding cake and placing it out for our guests. The open bar was reasonably priced and a great addition to our reception package. I'm happy with my decision to use Hunt Valley Catering for one of the biggest days of my life!!! -

From the beginning – I was impressed with the professional approach that I found with Hunt Valley Catering. From clear, well organized pricing structures – to the no hidden fees – everything was well done and well organized.
I had a wedding with fabulous food (Laurence brought me a plate at the beginning of dinner – so I actually got to eat) – with beautiful linens, a plentiful bar, copious amounts of appetizers. Everything went so smoothly that I didn’t have a chance to worry about anything!
The prices were very reasonable, and everything was so good. Darlene was an absolute pleasure to work with – and very helpful when I had questions. If you’re looking for a caterer who is professional, friendly, fantastic, and goes above and beyond – this is the place!
