We can’t recommend Joe enough for his entertainment services on our wedding day. I say entertainment services, because that is the only way to summarize his ability to DJ, MC, and play an acoustic set, all in the same evening. We continue to get compliments from our guests on just how well all of it was performed, including everything form the music choices, to the transitions, and the wedding party introductions. We were able to provide a list of songs from all different genres, and Joe did a great job organizing them so that it blended perfectly. We also choose to have him play the guitar and sing during the cocktail hour, which we continue to say was one of the best choices we made for the wedding. This gave a perfect change in tone from the wedding, to the cocktail hour, to the reception. I highly encourage anyone that is interested in hiring Joe for an event, to at least set up a consultation. Joe made us feel comfortable from day one, and that continued all the way up through our wedding. As the event gets closer, you review the timeline, venue layout, song choices, and any other questions that may arise to make you feel at ease. We can’t thank Joe enough, and we will absolutely reach out to him again for any other events we have in the future. Thank you Joe! -

Joe Jr and Joe Sr were so much fun to work with! We had a wedding with both a DJ and a live cultural band (Greek) and Joe Jr seamlessly transitioned between the two groups playing music so the music never stopped (one of my biggest concerns was for a “quiet lull” between them)! I appreciated their willingness to work with other musicians and to highlight the varying cultures of our group. The dance floor was always full when Joe was playing too! He kept the party going for sure and played all my dinner time requests (ie an instrumental version of Beauty and the Beast, even making Vance Joy and Louis Armstrong seem like they were made for each other!) -

Joe is an experienced, professional, and thoughtful DJ! My wife and I first learned about Joe through our wedding coordinator, and we wanted to book him initially because he had experience with our venue, Gramercy Mansion. We got the Emerald Package because we wanted to have music and a microphone during our ceremony.
The first thing that we loved about having Joe as our DJ was that we got to meet with him twice before our wedding—first, to meet and give a vision for our wedding after booking with him, and for a second time a few weeks before our wedding to solidify specific songs as well as general genres, artists, and “vibes” that helped Joe know what to play during the ceremony and reception. We trusted Joe to find songs that fit our vision, and he delivered perfectly! He found remixes of Taylor Swift songs to make them more upbeat/dance, and he played the exact songs with great audio quality as we walked down the aisle for the ceremony. The equipment that Joe used was great—the music had clarity and projection but wasn’t too loud for guests who wanted to talk rather than dance during the reception. He also provided microphones during dinner, which made it a lot easier for everyone in the room to hear speeches.
We would highly recommend Joe to anyone looking for a DJ for an event because he was perfect for our wedding. He came early and had everything set up in advance, got all the audio right throughout each part of the wedding, and was such a kind and friendly person to speak with before, during, and at the end of the wedding! Since one of our vendors was neither professional nor prompt, it helped us appreciate even more how Joe did everything right as a vendor. Please consider him for your event!

Hiring Hughes Entertainment was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Joe and Joe Sr were immediately very responsive and set up a zoom call to discuss what my husband and I were looking for in terms of music, vibe, and basically every musical detail of the the day! Joe played acoustic for us during cocktail hour which was amazing and everyone loved it!! He even whipped out his guitar when the last song came on. That is something I’ll never forget and one of my favorite memories of the night. Music is a huge part of a wedding, and these guys truly listen to what you want and picture on your wedding day. We loved Hughes Entertainment!! -

Joe Jr. and Joe Sr. made our day a dream come true. They fulfilled every want and desire of ours without hesitation. We even had a last minute ask to lightly "roast" our wedding party during the reception intros, and Joe Jr. executed it perfectly! Our friends and family enjoyed the array of music picked and the dance floor was full the entire night...noone wanted it to end! They were so supportive and amazing to work with...we can't thank them enough! -

My husband and I cannot say enough about Hughes Entertainment. We have know Joe Sr. and Jr. for years and have attended many weddings that they have DJ/MC'd and each one was LIT! They know how to make introductions memorable and how to keep the dance floor going all night. Joe Sr. and Jr. were so easy to work with throughout the planning process. With being in different states we utilized Zoom for our meetings and it worked out great. We provided them with a list of songs and general timeline and they took care of the rest. Of course things never play out exactly as planned on the wedding day and you need to adjust timelines, well let me tell ya these two were exceptional with just that. They worked with the maitre d' to keep things moving and ensure that our wedding was spectacular. Not to mention we added the uplighting to our package and WOW the ballroom looked even better than we could have dreamed. You will not be disappointed with Hughes Entertainment and they travel for your needs. Room was LIT, music was LIT and the MC did his thang! -

DJ Joe Hughes was so personable and easy to work with. When we had our meeting before our wedding, we discussed different genres and bands we liked and he was able to curate a playlist that was exactly what we imagined for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception. When our wedding day came, 10.08.2021, the dance floor was packed the entire time. Joe did a great job of reading the crowd and playing a variety of music to keep everyone entertained and dancing. Can't recommend Hughes Entertainment enough! -

Hughes Entertainment was an absolute dream of a team to work with. From our initial consultation zoom call, they were very caring, professional, and accommodating. I immediately knew I wanted to book them. Hughes entertainment is extremely responsive, patient, and will craft the perfect playlist and flow of events for your special day. Joe Sr. was the perfect MC and made sure everything was happening on time and organized. Joe Jr. kept the dance floor busy, everyone enjoyed his work, and fabulous appropriate taste in music! They truly made our day unforgettable and I cannot emphasize how polite, nice, patient, professional, and accommodating they are. They made us feel SO comfortable and confident that we were going to have the best day of our life. And we sure did! You’d be extremely lucky to have these two perfect gentlemen DJ your event!! -

My wife and I can’t say enough good things about Hughes Entertainment. Joe was so flexible and accommodating regarding all of our requests and completely willing to go the extra mile when we made multiple special requests.
At our request, Joe was able to create a mash up for us of some of our favorite songs that we were going to use for our first dance. As it turned out, then we changed our minds on the first dance song and he graciously created and edited the new song to include only two of the three verses we wanted to hear. The final production sounded amazing and was a perfect first dance and we were still able to use the mashup he made for us during dinner.
As another special request, I secretly asked Joe if I could sing a song to my wife after my welcome speech and toast. He was completely agreeable, taking so much of his own time, weeks prior to our day, to learn the song, playing it on his guitar, and then performing it with me. She was completely surprised, as well as were all of our guests. What an awesome moment it was, which never could have happened otherwise, without Joe’s willingness to go along with my crazy idea. Definitely as showstopper moment we will never forget!
When it came to the party after dinner, we both love all genres of music, but we decided to leave it all up to Joe to keep the party going, knowing that not all of our guests would have those same musical tastes as ours. Joe’s professional experience really paid off, as everyone was on the dance floor all night and he made sure that he kept feeding the crowd and pumping them up. We also purchased the uplighting package as well, which really is a must have, to set the right mood. Joe managed the lighting so well, transitioning from an elegant dinner lighting to dance party lighting that really lit the room and our guests up!
Overall, complete A+++ experience with Hughes Entertainment, helping to make our wedding day perfect. -

We were lucky to find Joe Sr and Joe Jr. They came as a recommendation from our coordinator who used them for her own wedding and has worked with them since. When we met with them, they listened to everything we were looking for. If we needed advice on something, they provided it. Hughes Entertainment was a breeze to work with and we had no worries with them at all. Joe Sr is great on the mic doing the introductions. Joe Jr was great playing acoustically during cocktail hour and DJing during the reception. We highly recommend them! -

Impeccable
Hughes Entertainment were incredibly helpful, responsive, and professional. They went beyond our expectations! We will forever recommend Hughes Entertainment to others and will always consider them for our future events. One very important detail that I must add is that they were very accommodating. We had a few tweaks we needed to make during our reception to music and it was executed seamlessly! We had Joe perform live acoustic during our cocktail hour and everyone was extremely impressed with his performance! We will forever be grateful for their services on our special day. -

Joe Jr. and Sr. did a wonderful job at our wedding and worked very hard to meet all of our needs. They met with us in person to go over song selection and wedding/reception timing. At the wedding Joe Sr.'s MCing kept everything running completely smoothly and on time. Joe Jr.'s DJing was fantastic, the entire reception was up on the dance floor and it was truly a blast. Jr. even played acoustic guitar and sang for our first dance. We could not recommend them enough. Thank you Hughes Entertainment for helping make our wedding so amazing and memorable! -

Hughes Entertainment is absolutely the best
Hughes entertainment did a fantastic job I can’t recommend them enough! They sat down with us to get to know us and our style of music. They really helped us have the perfect wedding. They played all the songs we requested and the requests of our guest and kept everyone out on the dance floor all night. Joe sr. Did a fantastic job as our MC and kept us on our schedule. Joe jr. not only kept the music going our entire reception but also performed live acoustic music for our ceremony which our guest loved. Hands down they are the best and our wedding wouldn’t have been the same with out them! -

Wedding and 70th birthday!! Will use for every future event too!
Hughes entertainment surpassed our expectations from start to finish. From our first meeting to our first dance and there after they provided truly first class entertainment. We had a blast working with them. Its easy to feel at ease with planning when you have a team thats dedicated to making the process fun and exciting, and thats exactly what they did. It was like talking to people you've known forever. They listened to every detail and made suggestions to help with the flow of things (which we greatly appreciated)
Joe jr. Is an incredible musician. We asked him to sing and play acoustic for our first dance, so he took the time to learn the song and give a stunning performance that accompanied our dance beautifully.
Joe sr. Is the MC you want on your big day, fun and gets the crowd up and moving.
Together they make the perfect team.
We enjoyed their services so much, we hired them a second time for my dada 70th bday surprise. Again, the day was perfecr, fun and the music was just what we asked for.
