User2686971 Sent on 07/14/2016Ok, so I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to take some time to compliment Huey and his Crew on their fantastic work at our Wedding. Honestly, I’m really awkward in front of the camera and not really too comfortable. My Fiancé is the same way, so, when you combine the two of us…it’s make for some unflattering pictures!
Huey was just so relaxed in the way he worked that it translated to our mood. Don’t get me wrong, he’s working in a suit, but the way he communicates and directs, it’s as if he’s in a t shirt and shorts. Sounds weird, but that’s the best explanation i can think of. Needless to say, we already knew at the end of the Wedding that the pictures were going to be great, but when we got them, they were Amazing! The pictures actually made us look good!! Seems like they were captured at just the right moment to get the right expressions and feelings. Oh, and the candid shots made me cry. There were so many moments that I wasn’t able to see throughout the day, but the pictures captured all those moments that we had missed.
We can’t speak highly enough about their work…keep it up guys, you’re definitely doing what you’re meant to be doing.

He's very personable and engaging, and you can tell he truly wants your pictures to be the best they can be. He's also very knowledgeable in his craft, and our pictures came out exactly as we had hoped. Book with confidence, you will be well taken care of. -
User1053292 Sent on 12/27/2012Even before the wedding I felt Huey took amazing, amazing photos. But even with my high expectations, upon looking at the photos, we were absolutely bowled over by his tour de force -- so many hundreds and hundreds of shots of our wedding that turned out
better than we could have believed was possible. So many shots surprised us with their creativity and inspired execution. Stopping at the park in OC was a brilliant idea and I'm sure that many of the shots are easily the best that have ever been taken of us. Huey and
his staff truly deserve to win awards for his work. -

He had a great sense of humor while remaining professional, and never had any trouble getting genuine smiles out of us. He worked hard to get great shots of our wedding, including crossing back and forth the busy PCH and making the most out of the tropical storm that brought both hail and rain. With his great eye for details, he quickly recognized the opportune moment when the storm broke and the sun came out to rush the wedding party across the street to the beach where he lined up some breath-taking shots. He was patient with us, including the five year old ring-bearer and flower girl who were running around like banshees. He had a great attitude all day and knew just what to do to bring out the best in all of us and highlight our best features. Huey made sure to capture many of the moments that we will only be able to recall from photographs since the whole day went by so quickly. We've only seen a few of our pictures so far and they are incredible, making us anxious for more. (thank you Huey!) -

Liz Sent on 01/09/2012Part of me was reluctant to give all 5 stars in every category because it might look fishy, but giving any less would be a total lie. I would give Huey Bui 10 stars if possible.
My wedding was September 23, 2011 and it was honestly perfect. One of the reasons this happened to be the case was undoubtedly Huey's amazing work.
Starting from the beginning, I have to say I was in an awkward position; we were on a limited budget, wanted high-quality shots, and (as many of you have probably been told) were under pressure to find the right person because the wedding pictures "are the most important part of your wedding!" (everyone will tell you this). In retrospect it is sort of true. I look back at my pictures now and realize they are the last memories I have of our perfect day. That's why I am 100% convinced Huey was the right way to go.
Right off the bat, I was clear that cost was a major driver for us. Huey was understanding and worked with me and my husband to help us tailor a plan that would work with our budget. He even came to our house one day when we couldn't make it to our meeting spot, just to review the plan. I always expect people of extraordinary talent to be offended when asked to help a couple on a budget, but this was simply not the case with Huey. We hired him 60% because we loved his work, 10% because he was willing to find a package that worked with our budget and 30% because I just got a good vibe from the guy. We got along with him, he was funny, kind, and sweet.
One of the things we did to limit cost was cut out an engagement shoot. I was a little nervous about this because that meant that the first time we would be shooting with Huey would be on our actual day. When that time came, it couldn't have mattered less. Huey came to my mom's house where we were prepping, and somehow managed to get shots of me getting ready where I didn't look like I was about to have a panic attack (which is how i felt). I look back and wonder if I actually looked that good or if this guy has a magical camera. Either way, it's a win. He managed to maneuver around the giant hustle and bustle of family members at my house without a blink.
During our wedding, Huey and his team managed to get unbelievable shots. Even when I was getting tired and anxious before the ceremony, they calmed me down and were kind and encouraging the whole way through. I was thrilled with their professionalism and general kindness; it is exactly what you will need on the day of. Someone who is in control but knows you are a little bit of a mess on the inside on the day of.
As far as the finished product goes, I can't believe the shots. Important things to note here are that: (1) I am NOT comfortable having my picture taken and (2) I am NOT a size 4. I explained this to Huey before hand and told him "You only have one job--make me look goooooood, please!". Looking back at the pictures, it's truly bizzare. I look phenomenal and some of the shots look like they are straight out of Brides magazine. I felt the prettiest I've ever felt in my whole life that day, and somehow that glow was captured in these photos. I can not explain how this is possible and can only say it is some bizzare gift from God and Huey. I will show my children years from now how hot mom used to be. I certainly couldn't do this without Huey help.

User1836009 Sent on 09/29/2014My husband and I loved working with Huey and his team for our wedding. We received the recommendation for Huey from our DJ and were very happy with the referral! It was nice to have an insider give us a referrer to another vendor in the wedding industry. Huey makes sure you're very comfortable, happy and relaxed the whole time. We especially loved the lighting elements that Huey brought to our pictures that we may not have gotten with another photographer and were definitely necessary for capturing some of the amazing shots. We would definitely recommend Huey Bui for any event. Also we loved his team for the day of. They're such a fun group and kept us joking and laughing the whole time.
