Added such an element of class and elegance to the reception!

Our daughter and son-in-law did most of their wedding planning themselves. My husband and I LOVED the DJ team, of Kelly and Susan Howe, that the couple chose! Kelly wore a suit, and Susan wore a dress. That doesn't seem like a big deal but it just added to their professionalism and the elegance they brought to the evening as the DJ and emcee team! They were so attentive to the bride and groom and both we, as parents of the bride, and the groom's parents, asking if we needed a refill on drinks, tending to our every need, emceeing the night's events with such brilliant ease and classiness. WOW! I couldn't wait to give them a glowing review, hoping that others will read the review and say "Howe Weddings: Music and Lighting" is the team we want for our wedding! The price was right and I understand from my daughter that they were incredibly easy to work with during the planning process for their wedding reception. I can't say enough good things about them! When our son gets married someday, I'll definitely recommend to him and his fiancee' that they use "Howe Weddings: Music and Lighting". It'll be the crowning touch for a beautiful, fun, elegant reception!

Grateful to have chosen this awesome team!

Kelly and Susan are excellent to work with! We wanted to create an experience for our guests at the reception, and Kelly and Susan had the ideas and the equipment to make it happen. Susan worked with us to create personalized aspects to bring uniqueness to our wedding and reception. They were always available for planning meetings with the all our vendors. Our highest compliment is that the flow of events (i.e., wedding party arrival, blessing, toasts, cake cutting) throughout our intricate, 4-hour reception was facilitated/directed flawlessly by Kelly as the Master of Ceremony. Even the count down to the New Year's Eve Spectacular for "ringing in of the new year" was fun and lively because of the brilliant DJ'd music selections. Beyond what we can say, we are most proud of the Facebook comments left by our guests about our very special event. Kelly and Susan guided us through the entire process, and for that, we are grateful for having chosen this awesome team! We thought their packaged services were very affordable compared to other quotes. Their added touches surprised and delighted us when we arrived at the reception. Kelly and Susan know how to deliver big results.

Everything we could have ask for, and MORE!

Kelly and Susan were so much fun and a blessing to work with! My husband and I initially were searching just for a DJ when we ran across HoweKC. But, to our surprise that's not all they do! Susan coordinated and made sure that we had absolutely nothing to worry about the day of the wedding. Kelly and Susan were easy to contact and were always willing to meet and help us answer any questions we had. I can't say enough wonderful things about HoweKC, as they made our day even more special than we could have imagined. The music was great and just what we asked for, and our day was stress free. I highly recommend HoweKC for any event and/or wedding!

Best DJ/Event Team in KC!

Howe Weddings was everything we wanted and more! They are a great team as Kelly kept the early events moving and then the dance floor packed the entire night! Susan was great behind the scenes and she handled everything from orchestrating the cake cutting to speeches to the first dance and even stitched up a bridesmaid's dress! You won't find a better DJ/event team in KC!

Couldn't ask for a better team!

Kelly and Susan were amazing! They really went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was perfect! They have thought of everything and when I say everything, I mean it! They brought up so many things during the planning process that we would have never thought of down to carrying our food back to our table for us so that we didn't spill anything on the way back and had our hands free in case we got to chatting along the way as well. Kelly and Susan communicate through the whole thing so that everything runs like a well oiled machine! Susan always made sure everyone was where they needed to be and Kelly was an awesome MC and DJ and kept the dance floor moving all night! The up lighting they brought truly transformed the room into a beautiful reception and we really believe that our day would not have gone as smoothly without them. They even ran our rehearsal as our officiant was a friend and had never done a wedding before and that was so helpful. We love Kelly and Susan and highly recommend that you use them!!

Excellent experience with Howe Weddings

Kelly and Susan were fantastic to work with. When we hired them as the DJ, didn't realize we got an experience wedding planning team. Susan professionally directed the wedding party thru their responsibilities and paces. Cannot think this wedding would have gone off as smoothly without them. As the father of the bride, I am very appreciative of their efforts and give them a HUGE high five for a job well done

The BEST DJ in the kc area!

Wow! I can’t brag enough on the Howe wedding team! Kelly and Susan did an absolutely amazing job and made our big day simply perfect. Our guests are still raving about the reception and how much fun it was. Kelly did an amazing job on making sure our music was just right while Susan made sure all of the logistics went smoothly. My parents greatly appreciated their help in making sure everything ran smoothly so they could simply be parents of the bride. Our guests loved the custom photo booth and the outdoor lawn games were a huge hit! I’d book them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone planning a party.

The best of the best

I could go on for days about how great Kelly and Susan are! They know exactly what they are doing and how to make a wedding run smoothly. I credit them for how perfect the day went. Susan made sure we stuck to our timeline but I never felt rushed. Kelly kept everyone on the dance floor and no one wanted the party to end! I think everyone should use Howe weddings, you will not be disappointed!!

We could not have been any happier with our decision to have Kelly and Susan as part of our big day! They were so easy to contact and coordinate with before, and they made sure everything ran perfectly at the reception. Not a minute was out of place, and they kept us calm and running smoothly all night. They even worked with our parents to plan a huge surprise as part of the reception and still managed to keep everything on schedule! Once we arrived at our reception venue, I didn't have to lift a finger. The Howes did everything from bustle my dress to carry my food and drinks, and they made sure that our parents were spoiled all night long as well. I can not say enough wonderful things about these two. Especially for all those other Type A brides like me, this team is a MUST HAVE!

As wedding photographers we have worked with a lot of DJ's over the past 8 years. Howe Weddings stands FAR above their competition in level of service, professionalism, and organization. Their two person team ensures that there is never a break in the entertainment of the evening while the events of the evening are seamlessly coordinated behind the scenes. Kelly and Susan are AMAZING!!!! So good at what they do. They took the time to make sure our wedding was truly special! Kelly is an amazing DJ and Susan is awesome;coordinating our entrances and making sure everything runs smoothly (even getting the bride and groom drink refills from the bar if they needed it).They go above and beyond your typical DJ service. I can't say enough good things about Kelly and Susan! They helped us through every aspect of planning the ceremony and reception music, and went above and beyond by giving us additional help with the processional and recessional, and even ideas and resources for us to write our ceremony! They met with us more times than I care to admit to before the wedding (I'm a bit of an over planner) and they were always so much fun to sit and talk with. They've been doing this for years and their experience definitely shows and was a huge asset to my now-husband and I. I was so much more at ease on my big day, knowing that I could trust Kelly and Susan to make it perfect- and they didn't disappoint! Thank you both SO MUCH for an amazing experience and being our favorite vendor throughout our entire wedding process! You guys are amazing!

This is the perfect example of a husband and wife team! Kelly and Susan made our day from the time we had our first conversation to our goodbyes at one in the morning. More than eager to please and had some excellent song ideas for a couple who had no idea where to even start. The Howe's provided the music for our ceremony and reception as well as back lighting for our reception. We had several guests compliment on the song selections and the visual effects. Kelly was right on top of announcements and kept us on schedule all night. If I ever had to do this over again I would choose these two in a heartbeat!

By far the BEST vendor we worked with. Kelly and his wife susan were extremely professional, organized, and fun to be around. We received numerous comments from guests about how great they were. We contracted for uplights, draping, and gobo light with them and it was all perfect. Will be recommending him to all of my friends.

Kelly was wonderful! From our initial meeting with him, he was incredibly knowledgable and professional. He really took time to understand the "vibe" of our wedding and guide us when we needed guidance. He played our perfect mix of alternative, oldies, jazz and pop music!

On the wedding day, Kelly guided the evening acting not only as DJ, but helping organize our grand entrance and buffet. He really kept the wedding on track and moving smoothly. He kept the wedding about us, but was lively and entertaining in his commentary.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about DJ Kelly!

Kelly and Susan were more than just DJ’s at our daughter’s wedding and reception. They coordinated both the wedding and reception they made a fantastic team. Their past experience was priceless. The additional lighting they provided added a nice touch. Everything happened right on cue and if it didn’t we did not know it because they made the whole evening run smoothly. Their last name should be organized because I have never seen anyone do a better job. While we did have a couple glitches in another area that had nothing to do with them, they just pitched in and helped were ever they saw the need. We had so many people ask who they were, complimented them on their coordination and selection of music. Many people said they never saw the dance floor fill up so quickly. If you do not use Howe Wedding and Events you are missing out on the best. Thanks for making our daughter's dream wedding a reality. Bob and Deb

We had the privilege of working with Kelly and Susan for our wedding! We found them at a wedding show and booked them a couple months later for our wedding. The dynamic duo was so easy to work with, their goal was to keep things easy for us on the day of the wedding. They kept the day moving like clockwork for us! Susan jumped in and made sure she had things flowing smoothly so we got everything we wanted in on time. I would definitely recommend them to someone else, you get more than just a DJ from them! The music was great, the lighting was great and the added bonus of someone else keeping track of time and activities for us was great as well.

Howe Weddings and Events did a great job entertaining our wedding. We had Bobby and Connie as our DJ team and it was so nice to know that while Bobby was was doing the mucic and announcements, Connie was behind the scenes making sure everyone in our wedding party was where they needed to be and that my groom and I knew what was coming up next. Their on-line request system was a great additional service because we could choose our general music and favorite songs ahead of time to make sure our weding had the feel that we wanted it to. We met with Kelly to discuss each and every detail of the reception and were so please that all of that information was handed off to Bobby and carried out as we wanted it to be. We also appreciated that they had a price package that worked with our budget and included uplighting for the room.

Kelly and Susan were amazing! They brought the party to life. I hired this company to DJ my daughters wedding. I read all the high reviews and decided they were the right fit for us. I am so happy I did. Kelly and Susan are the best. If it wasn't for them I don't know how we could have managed. They are way more then just Djs. Kelly even came to our rehearsal to make sure everything would flow right on my daughters wedding day . We had a outdoor wedding and indoor reception. Kelly did the music for both. Our pastor said she has never worked with such an organized dj before. Everyone was amazed at how great this team was. They kept everything on track the whole evening. They also did beautiful lighting in the room. If you don't hire this team you are really missing out.

If you are looking for a first class wedding reception host/DJ/coordinator in the Kansas City area, you need to look no further than Howe Weddings and Events. I am a bit of Type A personality and of course wanted a perfect reception. I have done the work for you and researched them all! I was looking for first class professionalism, reliability, and of course some one who could keep the dance floor full! The Howe's went above and beyond to make our day so special. We were fortunate enough to have Kelly and Susan as our hosts. They made the night run so smoothly without us even knowing they were there making it happen. From the smallest details, to keeping the evening moving, they know what they are doing! Kelly is excellent at making announcements when necessary and reading the crowd, while not being that loud, cheesy DJ that can ruin the evening. Susan is extremely receptive to what is going on and works in the background to make all the small details perfect. Also, the lighting that they set up made our venue truly amazing. I could go on and on, no regrets whatsoever. I am also extremely conscious financially, and these two are worth every penny! Thanks again guys! L & J

Wow! Kelly and Susan were absolutely amazing! We heard nothing but wonderful things from both of them! Not only were they flexible, but they were very professional! They both made sure we were aware of the schedules and events and where we needed to be. We walked into the reception place and didn't have a worry in the world! The quality of service was beyond what we could have asked for and we would recommend them to all wedding couples looking for a fun, professional, and great value couple! They were just so great! Kelly and Susan were great! They did everything we asked and even brought some fun ideas into the mix. Susan was great in keeping everything flowing with the dances, tosses and all of the other fun stuff. They have a large selection of all kinds of music and lighting options. They were responsive to everything we asked I would definiately use them in the future and recommend them to other brides.

This VERY organized and particular mother of the bride could not be more pleased with the services Party Sounds provided for my daughter's wedding reception 9-30-11. It iwas seamless! It was professional! It was beautiful! From their help in organizing the order of the reception, to their speedy response to our our questions, to the professional job in hiding all the wires as best they could and then taping them down for safety purposes, to their promptness and follow thru on everything....we always knew where we were supposed to be and what we were supposed to be doing. Susan even lended a hand in filling up water glasses before the reception started. They are the nicest people and the service they provide is top quality. The lighting in the room made it so elegant. I received so many compliments about Party Sounds. I would recommended them to you without hesitation!

We LOVED Kelly and Susan at Party Sounds. They were so much fun and easy going (especially when the Best Man and Groom decided to do Karoake). We would recommend them to EVERYONE. Went to another wedding just this past weekend that had a different DJ and the music was horrible and you could not heard anything at all. Love, Love party sounds.

Kelly Howe with Party Sounds did an amazing job at our wedding. We were allowed to choose our own playlist from an interactive website weeks in advance. Kelly was charming and professional and maintained the flow of the reception. His wife was also key in directing many aspects of the reception. They communicated with each other through earpieces and never missed a beat.

Party Sounds made planning the music for our wedding very easy! Loved the website where we could plan the entire even down to the minute! Kelly and Susan were always willing to offer any help they could and Bobby and Connie came in and took the ball and ran with it on our wedding day! Connie kept us on schedule - she was an INCREDIBLE help that day!! And with the ceremony site change and the weather that threw everything in chaos, she was the steady, guiding hand that helped us keep our sanity.
The value we got for having the DJ, wedding coordination,gorgeous room lighting and dance floor lighting makes Party Sounds the best value in KC! HIGHLY recommend using them for your wedding!

If you are looking for a dj for your wedding, this should be your first choice. I just got married on Jan 15 and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Party Sounds. Throughout my planning process they would email just to check in to see if there was anything they could do to help and met with my husband and I multiple times to ensure the reception would go smoothly. My wedding had 500+ guests and I have received enless compliments on how great the dj was - I even saw a few people dance that I believed never would! Kelly and Susan are absolutely the best! Party Sounds was the best choice we made for our wedding. Everyone is still talking about how amazing the DJ was and how amazing the lighting in the reception was. If you want a wedding that everyone will remember, Party Sounds is the DJ to chose. They make everything easy and fun. They take pride and care into planning your special day and go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you want. They have an amazing price for their services and lighting. The best our of all of the DJ's in the Kansas City area. Kelly and Susan are amazing! They met with us to understand exactly the kind of event we wanted to create and took our ideas on the music and lighting. We just gave them the artists' names, and they found the right music for the four hours of the reception. Then they worked with us on the timeline and met with us once more to get everything just perfect so we knew that they'd keep the reception moving, but that it wouldn't be too crazy. We wanted to have an upscale event with smooth jazz and great music for dancing, and it was just that. People really enjoyed the music, and they danced non stop till the reception was over. Kelly made several announcements throughout the reception so people knew what was coming up, and he kept the party going and ensured that people were having a great time. At the end of the evening, Kelly and Susan gave us a CD with the music they played between our arrival at the reception and the time the dancing started. It's perfect for bringing back the memories of that day. We're so thankful that we hired Party Sounds for our reception! We couldn't have created such a perfect atmosphere without them. We're thinking of booking another event so we can party with them again! Thanks, Kelly and Susan!

Party Sounds was the perfect DJ service. They were priced very resonable and were extremely professional. They met with us before the wedding and helped us select all our music needed for our ceremony and reception. They were extremely helpful before the ceremony and throughout the whole reception. They also acted as our MC and made all the transitions run smoothly. They played the perfect songs and had everybody dancing. They also had some amazing lights that made the night magical. We would recommend Party Sounds for your DJ Service!

Susan & Kelly Howe are fantastic. They were so easy to work with, affordable and definitely more than we expected from a DJ service. Kelly does the actual music and Susan is there to help make sure things run smoothly, the plan is stuck to, and is there to help with anything and everything that she can to make the day run smoothly. Kelly was so organized, we had no concerns going into the wedding day because we already knew ahead of time what was going to be happening and when. One of the things that set Howe Weddings apart from others is their attention to detail, but also their online portal. It made things so easy - you could rearrange the event orders and times, pick must play songs, pick DO NOT PLAY songs, and allow trusted friends or family to help pick songs that would play during the reception. We used Howe Weddings for our ceremony as well and we are so glad that we did. The speakers were perfect, the mics worked like a charm and were the perfect volume, and Susan and Kelly had it all organized so we didn't have to stress about anything. Susan was such a life saver for our sanity on our big day - she made sure we were doing okay all evening and was there to take care of anything (big or small) that came up to ensure we were enjoying our day. We also had beautiful uplighting for our reception that really transformed the room into a romantic setting. We are so grateful to have picked Howe Weddings to be a part of our big day. If you're looking for a reliable, affordable, well worth the money, organized DJ - I would definitely recommend Susan & Kelly Howe.

This DJ team was amazing! Kelly did the music portion and Susan was a coordinator and was so extremely helpful! Their online system for planning every detail was extremely helpful and easy to work with. Susan also made our escort cards, which were exactly what I had in mind! The Howes really made my day run smoothly and went above and beyond!

Party sounds did a wonderful job with the lighting and keeping the party moving. My only complaint was that there was a lot of music played that was NOT on my list. I had hoped to hear more of the songs I selected. That said, I'd hire them again anytime!

Really I have two separate reviews for them. One is about a 1-2 star review and the other is about 4-5.

Not enough characters for my original review that I'll try to leave somewhere. 1 star because songs important to us as a couple and our relationship were not played. Music played I didn't even like or know a couple times when i had PLENTY chosen that could have been played instead. Songs I had on must play, played during dinner or just sitting or while we were gone before the dancing started. I would think the MUST plays would be played when i could appreciate them. Had to keep asking them to replay songs later and there were more the groom forgot to ask to repeat. Music kept skipping or being weird. Their computer crashed with the aforementioned important songs on it. I was not notified until I had to request one of the songs be played and we ended up having to use my phone to play it and that was just one of them. If it had been earlier I could have played these songs I felt needed played. A contingency I would think a back up would be planned for.

The good; they are very nice and accommodating. Meetings always went smooth and they were a big help with coordinating the bridal party, ceremony, and reception events even when we had to re situate due to rain. All around very great and excellent to work with, an easy 5 stars, and would recommend.

But the music situation gives me a feeling of regret and I'm highly disappointed, and it's a little depressing to me since we're never going to get that day back, that only about 2 songs very special to us were even played and it's the only thing that wasn't up to my expectations and it could almost ruin the day for me, since music is so big to me, if everything else hadn't turned out alright. It really was nobodies fault, I would still recommend them as they are great to work with, just maybe if there had been more communication earlier, we could have had things taken care of.

We used Howe Weddings for our DJ services.Kelly and Susan were already booked so we used Bobby and Connie.We met with Kelly and Susan for ALL of our meetings and were super impressed;they were thorough and did a great job of gathering what we wanted at our wedding.We did not meet Bobby and Connie until the day of. I sent Kelly a finalized plan a week or sobefore the wedding. He confirmed he got everything. Somehow it was not relayed to Bobby and Connie because ALOT of things were MISSING or WRONG. I had originally asked for oldies loves songs during dinner, but my husband and I decided to change to country. THE WHOLE DINNER WAS OLDIES. I noticed this while I was eating but was having such a good time i did not care. As we were going around tables greeting everyone Connie came and told me it was time for the first dance...3 differnt times. Each time I told her I understood but we were going to finish greeting our guests. Our last dance was the wrong song!!! We were supposed to do a grand exit with bubbles but Booby never announced anything.My mom had to go ask him to announce for everyone to line up.Kelly and Susan are amazing and i think some of these issues would not have happened had they done the wedding, but then again it was their job to relay the info to their "teammates."If you do book with Bobby and Connie I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you find a way to meet with them ahead of time so they can get a good understanding of what you want your wedding music to be like. We were both uncomfortable that we hadn’t but were assured it would be fine so we did not push the issue. We had an amazing night and as DJ's they got the job done.I would not say i was completely dissatisfied with our choice, but all the other vendors exceeded my expectations except them. I would still recommend looking into them for your wedding. Kelly and Susan are just so great and will basically RUN the whole wedding and reception for you.
