My daughter chose House of Broel because of the courtyard ceremony and the beautiful house inside besides the fact they did everything and all you have to do is show up for a destination wedding. Ms Broel keeps great communication every step , comes to the wedding and gives a guided tour to your guests of her dollhouse museum that she handmade each one and tells the history of the family and how she acquired it. There is a frog museum upstairs and it’s rooms are also great for pictures. The entire staff from the servers to the bridal consultants and the food and bar was awesome! The frogs in the courtyard seemed to hold their breath until the ceremony was over and then started singing. Every guest was so happy and said it was a memorable experience. Don’t forget to have a second line band take you through the house and down the sidewalk. I’d highly recommend Kenneth Hagans band . The entire wedding was affordable and right in our budget. You won’t be disappointed.

I really had a wonderful wedding service everything was right on time. Ms Broel did a wonderful wedding ceremony she truly a beautiful person very professional and the place is beautiful so much history there.

I recently had my wedding at HOB and it was magical to say the least. Denise and Bonnie were attentive to all of my questions, my family members, our tons of items being shipped to the venue, and all of our different personalities that were involved in the wedding. We picked this place based on the venue atmosphere, and the amazing garden it really was and is beautiful. The venue leaves very little to nothing to do in terms of decorating. The food was pretty good and never stopped! My only complaint was the dj, DJ Rick. There were issues with the initial dj which was out of their control. However the new dj assured me that he had all the songs from my list of songs to be played and he did not stick to the list of songs to be played. It was especially upsetting since the DJ had verbally confirmed with me and my attendant three times that he would play the songs from the list and he had everything under control. The lack of dependability of the DJ might not have been anything that HOB could've controlled however perhaps the vetting process could have been better? On a positive note my attendant for the day was amazing!! Thank you Cheri for your help, your kind words, and your glowing personality. I would definitely recommend HOB to any bride and or friend wanting to have an event there. I would only add that the person should stay on top of the DJ, if that is something that is important to you. The music was very important for my husband and I and we thought we had done a good job staying on top of the situation however I couldn't have predicted the DJ to lie to me (several times). Also be assured that the team at HOB has everything under control, they are professionals and are pros at running events. Thank you all once again for your help, smiling faces, and warm wishes.

October is our favorite month, and Halloween our favorite holiday, so we naturally decided to have a Halloween-themed wedding. But where should we hold our spooktacular event? We read reviews and talked to several consultants, but it was House of Broel that won us over. The home is to die for. It is an absolutely perfect venue filled with beautiful antiques, hardwood floors, and much history. We took a tour with Mrs. Broel and fell in love with her, her story, and her home. Our event was obviously not going to be traditional, and Mrs. Broel and her staff went out of their way to make sure everything was just perfect. The venue has everything a couple needs, but knowing we wanted a macabre setting, our consultant, Denise, would suggest purchasing such things as a themed cake knife and glasses. These little touches were things we hadn't thought of, and we appreciated her guidance and advice in helping us plan our event. The outside of the home is gorgeous as well, and we wanted our ceremony to be held in the lush courtyard, but the night before it stormed. There were heavy rains and strong winds. The morning of our wedding we got a call asking if we were willing to have the ceremony inside instead because the courtyard was a mess because of the storm. We didn't mind at all. Like I mentioned, the home is gorgeous. When we arrived, however, the staff at House of Broel had gone out of their way to dry chairs and make sure the garden was clean for us. I cannot tell you just how much they accommodated every little need we had. We were so pleased and happy. They made our dream event a reality, and we were so grateful for everything they did for us. We live in New Orleans, so we are aware and proud of our city's reputation for being welcoming to others. New Orleanians want you to feel at home. Mrs. Broel and her staff did just that. They made us feel welcome and at home. I truly could not recommend House of Broel enough. It was an excellent venue with an even more excellent staff. Our dream was realized, and the wonderful memories that helped create for us will be forever etched in our hearts.

We had our dream wedding at the House of Broel. The entire staff was both highly professional and friendly. The house itself is exactly what you hope for and imagine when you picture a charming old southern mansion on St. Charles Avenue. Bonnie, our gracious host, was also our minister; and she gave a truly touching ceremony in the ethereal back court yard. Denise, the coordinator, made us feel right at home. If there was anything we forgot, she remembered and already took care of it. Patrick, the chef, was a rockstar. All of our guest’s raved about the food which was truly excellent New Orleans cuisine. One of my favorite parts was the very thoughtful go boxes with each menu item in it. They made for a romantic second dinner later on at the B&B. Overall, I recommend this venue to anyone planning a party in New Orleans.

House of Broel provided loving, personal attention with professional care for our son Daniel’s wedding. Bonnie’s ceremony was beautiful. Her thoughtful, eloquent words regarding the grooms’ lives brought joy to them as well as their family and guests. Denise and Cheri rocked prepping everyone for the ceremony and they continued to provide top notch service to everyone throughout the reception. Wonderful experience. Beautiful house, great ceremony, delicious cake, fun and friendly employees. No stress wedding/elopement was exactly what we were looking for. Denise went above and beyond helping me get laced into my dress. Rev. Bonnie was very accommodating with what we wanted in our vows/ceremony. Louis was an excellent photographer. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The house was BEAUTIFUL! The venue was perfect for our small wedding. Everyone was very helpful throughout the process. All my questions answered in a timely manner. I would recommend House of Broel to anyone.

We loved our experience with House of Broel. We do not live close to Nola, and planning the wedding from afar was a breeze. The team at Broel took care of almost everything in house, and if they could not, they recommended great vendors who they have extensive relationships with. The value for everything was off the charts - venue, food, beverages, and cake all covered??? We got a Second Line band come during the reception and every guest we talk to still talks about it.
The House itself is amazing! There is literally nothing like it. Oozing with Nola flavor, and unique even for the city.

They are wedding experts! I had zero wedding planning stress related to the ceremony and celebration, and everything went smoothly the day of. We’re planning another wedding in a second location, and there’s no way I could decorate, coordinate, and execute everything as well as they did with the same budget. The cake was delicious, too!

My husband and I were married at the House of Broel 10 years ago this July. We were simply BLOWN AWAY with the hospitality of the staff! The moment we stepped inside the Victorian mansion, we were treated like Royalty by everyone!! Bonnie was such a delight and took her time getting to know each of us. The BEAUTY of the House of Broel is mind boggling. I never thought I would be able to get married in such a beautiful and historic place. Every room was meticulously decorated in such a way you felt that you stepped backwards in time. I especially enjoyed the spaciousness of the Bridal Suite. This was so nice and helpful as I dressed for our big event! I loved being able to walk down the stairs,pass by the huge mirror and glide in front of the altar to meet my love! Bonnie and crew had a beautiful cake and champagne ready for our guests. It was FANTASTIC!! The many photo opportunities were FABULOUS!! Thank you HOUSE of Broel for making our wedding dreams come true!

House of Broel is an amazing and beautiful place to have your wedding. Bonnie and her staff go above and beyond to make sure your wedding day is special and memorable. We wanted to have our wedding in New Orleans and toured several places there. The House of Broel exemplifies New Orleans and was just what we were going for. We loved how we could split up the payment and pay monthly for our wedding. This really helped with budgeting. Leading up to the wedding, I had several questions and called and/or sent a text to Denise, the coordinator, and she responded quickly every time. One of the best parts about House of Broel is that it is all inclusive. This alleviates the stress often involved in planning a wedding. There was no need to find a place for all the different things needed like food, cake, alcohol, and decorations.

Now to the big day. Bonnie was our officiant and did a wonderful ceremony. Denise coordinated everything and made sure the whole thing went flawlessly. Rachel, my bridal attendant, was by my side the whole time. She made a plate of food for my husband and I and had us step away for a few minutes so we can spend a little time together and eat something. Kevin and Russell, the bartenders, made great strong drinks. My dad cannot eat pork and one of the bartenders went and made my dad some pork free jambalaya that he loved. The food was really good. The house DJ is great, definitely use him. The whole staff went above and beyond our expectation to make our day memorable not only for us but for our guests. If you care getting married in New Orleans, this is the place, you will not regret it.

Wow what an amazing day!! Bonnie Broel and her staff exceeded my expectations. They worked hard and were very organized and made sure that our day went smoothly. Denise the coordinator was great and easy to work with. The venue was beautiful, the cake, food, and DJ were good and the guest were happy. The staff helped me get dressed, helped pack up our things and listened to our request. Bonnie was great and even made sure that the photographer got certain special moments. Very lovely and accommodating venue! The House looked absolutely stunning and gorgeous. Our guests had a fabulous time! And thank goodness for the coordinator helping us keep on track!

Bonnie and the attendants were amazing. Bonnie worked within our budget and was always quick to respond to any questions we had. The attendants helped us stay on track the day of the wedding. They pulled us aside so we could have a minute to eat together. Our day went even better than we had hoped for. The house was decorated beautifully and we only had to bring our favors and cake topper. We loved it was all inclusive and did not have to spend extra money on decorations, caterer, etc.

When we toured the House of Broel with Ms. Broel, we were blown away, as the venue totally encompassed the authentic charm of New Orleans that we were looking for. She gave me words of encouragement and she was there to attend to me throughout the evening to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The food was DELICIOUS, and the libations flowed - my guests were EXTREMELY impressed! The House of Broel delivered a FLAWLESS dream wedding for me, and I just wish I could experience it over and over again! I had a vision of my dream wedding, and the House of Broel EXCEEDED my expectations! Beautiful venue and excellent service!

We decided to elope and found the Hosie of Broel to be extremely accommodating considering we called them one month before the ceremony! I did not step inside the place until 2 days before the wedding. I was in constant communication with Miss Bonnie and Denise and they assured me everything would go smoothly. The house is absolutely beautiful and pictures do not do this place justice. We had a small ceremony and plenty of places to take pictures. The bartender made sure everyone had a drink and the food was delicious!! If I had to do it all over again I would definitely go to this place first. They took care of all of the arrangements and the dj. All I had to do was walk in, get dressed, and get married. I would like to thank everyone at the House of Broel for everything they did for us and for making our day a wonderful experience with no stress.

House of broel really made having and out of state wedding worry free! Coming from Oregon we weren't able to view the venue before hand but it was amazing! The food, staff and the venue were amazing! It was a very magical time for us. Our quests still talk about how nice the house of broel was! They all loved it. A big thank you to Cassandra who was a huge help!!!! We loved The House of Broel! We decided on the intimate package because we did't want to have a huge wedding but we wanted something really special. From start to finish Bonnie Broels and her staff made this process stress free. They were very helpful during the planning process. On the day of wedding my veil and jewelry was misplaced. Ms Bonnie went above & beyond. Not only did she give me a veil but offered a selection of jewelry to chose from. The venue was GORGEOUS, the food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. Everything was perfect.

Our wedding was absolutely perfect!!! We started planning our April 2017 destination wedding in June 2016. We would not be visiting the venue before the wedding, so we depended on communication via phone and email! Bonnie was helpful from the onset! She answered all questions that I had in a prompt manner! The thing that I loved about this venue is that everything is inclusive! There was no need for coordinating for chairs, cake, alcohol, food, flowers, etc that can really add up!We could show up, get married and be on our way! That is exactly what we were looking for ... a turnkey wedding!

Fast forward to our big day! It was amazing! Everyone was in awe of how beautiful the venue was! We got married outside in the courtyard and had our reception inside. The weather was perfect! I can't thank the staff at House of Broel enough for ensuring that my wedding ran smoothly the day of! Absolutely perfect! My husband and I live out of state so this wedding was planned without being there. They are all inclusive which made it so much easier for us. All I had to worry about were my flowers and photographer. All my guest raved about how amazing the venue was and how much fun they had. Bonnie did tours of the museums upstairs during the reception. It gave my wedding that little extra unique experience. Bonnie and her staff are dynamite!!!! If you want that classic Victorian New Orleans wedding experience this is your venue!!!!

I can not express how fabulous I think this venue and staff are. We had such a great day with friend and family. We came from out of state, and Ms. Broel and her team literally took care of everything. It was a happy, happy day.

We chose the House of Broel to renew our vows for our 30th anniversary. Arranging things after only seeing Internet pictures and talking with Bonnie on the phone from Houston was a little nerve-wracking, but I couldn't have made a better selection. I was immediately relieved and comfortable when we got there and so pleased with everything.....Thank you all for a beautiful day!

My now husband and I planned this as a destination wedding and did most of the planning over the phone. Ms. Broel was easy to contact for planning purposes.
We arrived a couple of days prior to the wedding and Ms. Broel took us on a complete tour of the facility including the accompanying museum. She showed us the options for where we could hold the ceremony. We chose the beautiful courtyard to have our ceremony in. The courtyard has a pond and is well maintained. The day of the wedding we were greeted by Ms. Broel and other staff. She opens the venue an hour before the wedding to allow the bride to get ready there. They were all very helpful and made sure everything went smoothly. I had forgotten to tell Ms. Broel that we wanted to include a sand ceremony until I arrived at the House of Broel the day of the wedding. She was awesome and found her script and ran over it with me real quick while I was getting ready to make sure it was what we wanted. I had a bridal attendant with me who made sure I had everything I needed and made sure things stayed on schedule. Ms. Broel performed our ceremony. During the reception, Ms. Broel and all of her staff made sure we and our guests were taken care of. The food was delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better day or venue. It was simply amazing!

My wedding was Oct. 17, 2014. It was great! We had a great time! This is the most romantic place to have a wedding! My family loved it, and are still talking about how beautiful everything was! We had a few behind the scene moments that would have ruined a wedding but no one knew because the service was excellent. Ms. Broel is the greatest! She performed a wonderful ceremony for us. My assistant kept us on time with events like cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. My junior bride had the same exact dress as I did & we didn't want to her to be seen before the wedding so they brought her down a hidden back staircase & had her in a holding room & even had someone sit with her so she wouldn't be scared! The food was awesome & abundant! Good thing we had ours boxed to take with us because it was all gone! The drinks were the strongest I've ever had at any wedding! All my guests were very, very pleased! My husband & I vow that if thus place is still open when we renew our vows in 10 years, we will have our ceremony here!

House of Broel is located on one of the prettiest and most historic streets in the city, and its beautiful location on St. Charles is mirrored by the rooms on the inside. The inside is filled with antiques and pieces of New Orleans memorabilia, such as one of Bonnie Broel's Mardi Gras gowns. The layout of the house is perfect for any kind of party, and we loved moving from room to room, dancing, chatting, and enjoying the excellent food. The fountain and courtyard out back were also lovely, and we took some of our favorite wedding photos there. Of course, there is also a second floor filled with items from Bonnie's travels, her frog collection, and a host of doll houses. Our guests were treated to a tour, and they loved it.

Wait, there's more. Bonnie Broel is a great host, who was always willing to address any concern leading up to the wedding. She chatted with our guests and charmed them, too. Honestly, we were sold on House of Broel from the moment we sat down with her to view picture albums. She is a New Orleans treasure.

Lastly, let's talk pricing. I won't go into all of the details here, but I would be surprised if there is a better price out there. The food was tasty, we had an open bar with top shelf alcohol, the cake and dj were included in the package, etc. Her rates were easily the most reasonable ones we encountered, and, for what she gave us, she could have charged a great deal more. During our first meeting, Bonnie made a remark that she wanted to "give the house to the girls." She sincerely means that, and it's clear that she is delighted to have guests in her family home.

TLDR: You won't go wrong choosing House of Broel for your wedding reception or any other party. The price won't break the bank. Make sure you spend some time chatting with Bonnie; she rocks.

This was the perfect place to make my dreams of a fabulous fairytale wedding come to life. Everything was truly wonderful! My husband is from New Orleans, but I'm from New York so most of my guests had never experienced a wedding in New Orleans and they were all very impressed and said they have never enjoyed a wedding reception as much as ours. Bonnie Broel, the owner did an excellent job of making sure that everything was perfect. The whole evening was truly magical! And the scenery looks absolutely amazing in all of our photos. My daughter had her wedding here in June of last year. It's a beautiful venue, Miss Bonnie was wonderful to work with, the DJ played great music, the catering and open bar was wonderful!!!!! The venue is absolutely beautiful!

We absolutely loved the House of Broel and we especially loves all the staff at House of Broel. Mrs. Bonnie Broel was so professional and so sweet during the whole process. She made everything so easy. So many things were already included in our package and we just had to show up! Everything was already done - we didn't have to even decorate because the house already had its own unique look. When we arrived at our wedding reception, we were greeted by an event planner who stayed with us all night and made sure everything was done that we wanted to do. She even made sure we had drinks and time to sit down and eat! The food was great and my cake was included! There were a lot of wait staff that took care of our guests as well. We also loved our grand exit

House of Broel was the perfect venue for our wedding. Ms. Bonnie was a breeze to work with and made the planning process easy and enjoyable! My family came from California and got to experience true New Orleans flavor from the look of the venue, to the food and drinks, to the music. Everything was perfect! My day could not have been better and it was all thanks to Ms. Bonnie, her staff and her beautiful venue!

The decorations in the house are beautiful and this helped with planning costs and also made my life a lot easier because I didn't have to plan much for decor. I loved that House of Broel handled everything (venue, catering, cake, DJ) because it made it easier only having to make payments to 2 people (House of Broel and my photographer). We had simply the most perfect wedding here. It was just the two of us but we had all the bells and whistles of a large wedding. We were made to feel very special. We had a room to change in before and after the wedding, a beautiful and sentimental ceremony in the awesome courtyard, they took lots of wonderful pictures (they captured everything) and we even had the most beautiful wedding cake served with champagne. And to top it all off……….we had our own dance to Wayne Toups. We could not have had a more perfect day thanks to Bonnie and her staff. It was everything we ever wanted and more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was the perfect place to start out our lives together.

The house of broel was amazing! Ms. Bonnie helped and worked with on everything she even made sure my groom had the beer he wanted. If she didn't offer something she made sure we knew who to contact to help us. The staff was incredible. Everything went off flawlessly. I still keep hearing from my friends and family that our wedding was awesome and how they enjoyed the venue and meeting Ms.Bonnie. If we ever renew our vows or have a anniversary party we will most definitely go back! I would refer them to anyone!

We were married during Mardi Gras 2014 at House of Broel. The ambiance of the venue is historic and unforgettable. Mrs. Bonnie Broel was genuine and was no stranger to weddings and how they should be done. Rachel and the rest of the staff were accomodating, down to earth and very professional. House of Broel was great to work with. After having dealt with other bridal attire vendors in the area, House of Broel was great because they set appointments and during your appointment you got their undivided attention. They was a mistake with my bridesmaid dress orders and the wrong dress style was ordered. HofB offerred to either reorder our correct dresses or offerred us the mistake dresses at half price which were equally beautiful.

Bigger cake would have been nice so I could've served my guests and kept some for 1 year anniversary. Everything else was Great!

It's a beautiful venue with a warm, helpful staff. Our wedding went smoothly and our guests could not stop complimenting everything about the reception! What makes this even more amazing was we are both graduate students on a tight budget. Bonnie worked with us to create an elegant evening that we could afford. One thing to be aware of: the hostess, Bonnie, knows how best to throw a party in her venue, so if you have a very set idea of what you want in a wedding this could be a conflict. For my husband and I, this was wonderful as neither of us had been married before and had no idea about the details! The only difficulty was that it sometimes took a while to get a response when we had a question.

Bonnie and her staff made everything an easy, comfortable and enjoyable process for us. It was just my future wife and myself but everyone on staff was very helpful and interested in our special day. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't hesitate to use the House of Broel.

As a side note the wedding cake was the best either one of us had ever tasted. By the way, we're thinking about ordering one every year for anniversary if it's possible.

The workers all did a great job. They were very helpful. The owner rushed me at the beginning and end of our four hours. I was late due to traffic and she was in a hurry to start the ceremony. At the very end, I wanted to change and she told her workers that I should have changed 30 mins before. It took about five mins for me to change.

The venue was beautiful, the staff was amazing, and the food was delicious, but the caretaker Bonnie was extremely difficult to work with. Since I was deployed and my wife and I live out of state our correspondence was by phone and website. That being said, we purchased a smaller event package to cover our needs and keep things simple. When making payments we were unaware that even with our credit card on file we still needed to both call Bonnie to authorize payment AND sign a receipt sent through traditional mail. Of course, we were never told this, and it's not explained on the website, but we almost had the event canceled on us due to this lack of communication. We also almost didn't have a cake. We weren't told we needed to pick out our cake (the website and Bonnie didn't explain this either), and we had to pick a cake the day before the event. Finally, at the end of the event Bonnie was very excited to collect the staff gratuity which I was happy to pay. Unfortunately, it was never presented in writing what would be owed, and I had to pull emergency funds to cover the cost. Our advice is that if you book at House of Brown please ask bonnie about every little thing (she will tell you she's the only one who knows what's going on and to only talk to her) otherwise you will find a lot of surprises along the way. Overall our experience was good and the staff was professional and accommodating, but I would never work with Bonnie again. I wish her employees the best of luck.

The venue is very pretty/ unique and we had a wonderful wedding. I recommend visiting the house and meeting with Bonnie Broel so there are no surprises or let downs the day of. Be aware the upstairs is a little strange and your guests will be offered a house tour during your wedding, I didn't enjoy that. I will recommend the venue if you are looking for an all inclusive very very affordable wedding and don't mind not having much control.

Food was good, drinks were good, venue and staff are nice. There isn't much flexibility in the "all inclusive" package and the owner was not so nice. If you are willing to overlook her attitude, and you want everything planned out for you with no hassle, it's a good price for an all inclusive wedding event.

My Family is great and easy going. We need a place that would provide us many things in our budget, however you should know that the lady that runs this place is awful. She was rude to my mother and I as well as my wedding party and my guest. We wanted to have our wedding outside and realized that it would be hot, she was did everything to discourage it but call us morons. The house is unique and outside garden is beautiful. She also offers a ceremony site, reception site and full bar and catering for a flat rate, just keep in mind who you have to deal with the get the great bargin.

Bonnie started out very helpful and promising, but after booking with her she became difficult to get ahold of. She told me we could decorate how we wanted, but when I had my wedding planner contact her in my stead - because we could not get ahold of her when I was in town, and I was planning the wedding from 800 miles away - my planner was told not only that we had to deal with Christmas decorations instead of what we wanted, but also that she didn't even need to come see the venue and we weren't able to make any changes to the setup. I was told Bonnie was rather rude to my planner. We canceled, expecting to lose a deposit amount of $500. Instead we lost over $1000 for a venue we didn't get to use. We had a great time elsewhere and it worked out better, but that money would definitely have been well spent elsewhere.
