Hotel Monaco is incredible!
I wish I could give Hotel Monaco 20 stars. This venue, the staff, Lindsey, and everything about our day was nothing short of perfect. They are incredibly accommodating, easy to work with and just amazing people.
We had to move our wedding up last minute due to a family emergency. Lindsey immediately reached out to us and quickly got the planning started. From day one, she was there for us. Checking in to see if we needed anything, doing absolutely anything we asked for and then some and still go this day asks us how we are doing. She is absolutely incredible and we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding planning to be by our side throughout the entire process.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s like a blank slate that you can do whatever you want. They work with you from start to finish and they never stop offering to help. The food is amazing, highly recommend the short rib and chicken. The process itself is so easy between the actual planning, working with vendors, the wedding block, and the day of. If I could get married again, it would be here in a heartbeat. I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Monaco, Lindsey, and their entire staff.I wish I could give Hotel Monaco 20 stars. 10/10 - amazing venue and experience!
My husband and I cannot say enough nice things about Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh! We had our wedding there in August of 2022 and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. You cannot beat the beautiful space, amazing food, modern amenities, and one-of-a-kind rooftop area. The staff went out of their way to make sure all of our requests were fulfilled and they were truly went above and beyond - especially because of their amazing coordinator, Lindsey! As an LGBTQ+ couple, we felt welcomed from the very beginning and loved every minute of our experience with Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh!My husband and I cannot say enough nice things about Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh! The best venue in Pittsburgh
Hotel Monaco was the absolute best choice for a wedding venue. Top notch professionals. From our first interaction with Erin and touring the space we knew it would be the place we got married. Through the entire planning process, Erin was kind, professional, and responsive. Whatever we wanted or needed, she made it happen. They pulled off an awesome ice cream sundae bar for us as our dessert which our guests loved. During our planning meeting she was very thorough and had wonderful ideas for how to tailor the day to be exactly how we wanted it. The unlimited time in the space is priceless and it was so nice to not have to worry about strict timelines when choosing ceremony times etc. The food options are great (and DELICIOUS), the add ons even better! Our guests loved the carving station during cocktail hour and tater tot bar at night. The staff turned over each space to perfection.
We had 105 people, All of which came from out of town. Every single person was able to check in when they got there, even if they ended up being early, so no one was stuck waiting for check in. The check in staff was so accommodating and made sure to give out the complimentary champagne toast to everyone. Everyone got their welcome bag delivered to their room. They even arranged for one of our groomsmen to get into the room block last minute because they thought they booked a room but actually didn’t. The rooms were clean and everyone loved the hotel. Wine and beer hour was the perfect way to say hi to everyone when they arrived Friday night!

Perfect wedding venue!
Hotel Monaco was truly the PERFECT place for our wedding celebration. We have received innumerable compliments from our guests on the venue. The staff (especially Erin and Liz) were super responsive and were there for every step of the planning process. Having a "one stop shop" for the ceremony, reception, and accommodations was a top priority for us. HM had all of this AND the restaurant in the lower level of the hotel was amazing for the unofficial "after party". Wedding food can sometimes disappoint, however HM knocked it out of the park with one guest stating it was "the best chicken he'd ever had". Finally, like every other couple in the last few years, we had a postponement and some last minute changes, which HM handled beautifully.Hotel Monaco was truly the PERFECT place for our wedding celebration. Lovely hotel for hosting guests
We hosted our wedding weekend at the Hotel Monaco and used it for our hotel block. They were very responsive and welcoming to us and our guests. They allowed us to extend our block with no problem whatsoever. We had numerous compliments on the stylishness of the accommodations and the service. We came back on our wedding night to a perfectly made-up bridal suite with chocolates and champagne and all sorts of little touches. Beautiful Venue
The venue could not have been more beautiful and the guests (myself included) could not have been taken care of any better. I highly recommend Hotel Monaco and, specifically, would trust Kristen 100% all over again. I knew other events were occurring at the hotel, but my wedding always seemed to be #1 priority. Something that really made me feel good, were the staff. Every time any staff member would see me during the event, they would make eye contact with me as if they were asking with their eyes "Is there anything I can get you?" I felt very taken care of, while not being interrupted when I was talking with guests. We absolutely love everything about Hotel Monaco! We had our wedding there in early November 2017, and they treated us like royalty. Yes, it is expensive, but it is totally worth it. The ballroom is beautiful, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. All of our guests had a great time, and the hotel played a big part in making our wedding day so memorable. Throughout the planning process, we worked very closely with Paige Myers, and we cannot say enough great things about her. Wedding planning can be stressful at times, and Paige was always there for us, either via email, by phone, or in person, to help us and address any questions/concerns that we had. She is calm, reassuring, and creative, and she was the main reason that our wedding day went so smoothly!We absolutely love everything about Hotel Monaco! We worked with Greg and he was really wonderful to work with and on top of everything. The space itself and the hotel as a whole is so beautiful all of the guests were blown away and loved it. The food was also amazing and best wedding food myself and many guests have had at a wedding, everything was hot and cooked perfectly. Overall, it was the perfect space for our wedding and I was thrilled with how it looked and turned out.We worked with Greg and he was really wonderful to work with and on top of everything. The space itself and the hotel as a whole is so beautiful all of the guests were blown away and loved it. Kristen Stewart (main point of contact and so great) and Ross Pattison (room and brunch coordinator for Commoner) were exceptional in customer service, flexibility, support, and understanding of the stress that comes with wedding planning. The entire staff obviously makes keeping customers happy their top priority, The venue is beautiful and unique, the food delicious, ball rooms beautiful, and roof top spectacular for cocktail hour. Can't say enough about this experience, book it now! You won't be sorry. We cannot say enough good things about our experience having our wedding at the Hotel Monaco. Every detail from the ceremony to the last minutes of the evening and brunch the next day was perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful and the food was delicious, but what really made this venue stand out is the service provided by each member of the staff and especially the catering manager, Kristen Stewart. Kristen responded to my near daily emails and never made me feel like a bridezilla even when I was getting awfully close. On the day of our wedding she made sure that no detail was overlooked and I felt that she cared about our wedding as much as we did. We provided thorough instructions regarding how we wanted various elements of the evening to proceed and they executed our vision flawlessly without constantly checking in with us about what we already told them. Kristen also coordinated behind-the-scenes with all of our vendors to ensure they had appropriate information and points of contact on site. We always said we didn't want a hotel wedding, with the anonymous beige walls, plain carpet, and parking lot views, but If we had to get married all over again, we would definitely choose the Hotel Monaco. We loved the modern feel and unique decor throughout the property, not just in the ballrooms. The bridal suite was incredible and it has one of the deepest and longest bathtubs we've ever experienced.We cannot say enough good things about our experience having our wedding at the Hotel Monaco. We had an absolutely perfect wedding day at the Hotel Monaco. We worked primarily with Paige Myers for over a year and she was professional and kind to us at every turn. Our planning process was pretty painless, and when we got down to the wire Paige coordinated with all of my vendors for set up and delivery so on the day I didn't have to worry about a thing. We had our ceremony and our reception here, and everything went so smoothly, and on time, and everyone at the hotel was so kind to us and our guests. All of the food (including dessert...the hotel makes amazing pies which we had in lieu of cake!) was delicious, and I had several guests come to me and tell me it was the best wedding food they ever had. Our accommodations were amazing too...our suite was massive and beautiful, and was the perfect staging area for some pre-ceremony photos. Best bang for your dollar!
Upfront, our experience was not very good. We signed a contract and soon later, our Hotel contact left. With no replacement, we were left in the dark for about 4-months with no contact. We grew from 67 people to 116 and didn’t get a lot of straight answers back from the main wedding contact. Finally, we got introduced to the bubbliest person, Sydney. She definitely got thrown right into the fire, but she was so helpful to us every step of the way and the hotel was very flexible with our changes. Communication with the staff is very rare Thursday-Sunday, which can be frustrating at times, but you soon realize why.
On load-in-day, the kitchen staff saw we had a lot of stuff and they just jumped right in to help us move everything in. Sydney made sure everything ran smoothy and was the main point of contact throughout the wedding day. If we needed something to our room, she was on it! Dante made sure the dinner went well and even helped us out during the ceremony. The maitre d' made sure that as the couple we had food and drinks from the end of the ceremony all the way through dinner. Not sure if the bar was supposed to, but they also went above and beyond and gave out additional drink options that weren’t on our original menu. Their whole staff were 120% all about the wedding during the day.
We did the ceremony in the Sofia which was a simple and elegant location when done up right. We then took the guest up to the rooftop for cocktail hour while the hotel staff turned the downstairs over. We then headed back downstairs and used the Sheffield for the reception, Sofia as the bar/lounge/dessert area, and the Foyer for the dance floor. Although the dance floor was narrow, it made the best atmosphere and flow for all of our guest. You can easily have the group of people that love to dance and the group of people that like to just watch or talk in the other rooms.
We did also use the convenience of the hotel to provide a non-guaranteed room block which gave us a great price and more rooms than needed without having to worry about paying the difference for any rooms not used.

You can easily have the group of people that love to dance and the group of people that like to just watch or talk in the other rooms.
We did also use the convenience of the hotel to provide a non-guaranteed room block which gave us a great price and more rooms than needed without having to worry about paying the difference for any rooms not used.

We had an amazing October wedding at the Pittsburgh Hotel Monaco. Both our ceremony and reception were held at the space (there are two ballrooms - we were offered both for no fee). Our wedding coordinator Greg Sgro & the rest of the Monaco staff worked hard to make sure that everything was perfect! We took advantage of the amazing rooftop for cocktail hour, which included live music, appetizers, and a sushi station. Our guests repeatedly commented that the cocktail party felt like an extension of the day instead of just "waiting for dinner." Moreover, many guests commented that the food was to die for (and I would agree - everything tasted great from the appetizers to the salad and main course. The Monaco accommodations were luxurious and convenient - our bridal suite was the perfect spot for hair & makeup. Finally, the Monaco took care of the heavy lifting - from setting up to tearing down, we never had to worry about any of the details on the big day. We had our entire wedding at the Hotel Monaco. I worked with Gregory and he was lovely to work with. The whole day went off without a hitch and was wonderful. I received so many compliments about the wedding space and the food (people said it was the best wedding food they've ever had). My only complaint was that I found out through a random google search that another couple was getting married 1.5 hours before us in the room we would use for the reception. I found this out 30 days before the wedding and it caused a lot of stress because no one from the Monaco ever told us. Luckily my day of coordinator and Greg worked with us to make sure it wasn't an issue. The only problem from the other wedding was that the elevator area was super crowded and I had to push through a sea of people to get to the bridal suite before the ceremony. I guess this is standard for hotels but I would have appreciated some heads up. We had our wedding at Hotel Monaco late September and really had a wonderful time, our guests were stunned by the beauty of the hotel itself. However, It's tough to say that everything went smoothly as the day of coordinator was very spacey at times and just didn't show up when she was needed. The catering contact, Dante, helped on the day of but yet really didn't help us as a couple when feeling so much pressure day of. They are truly all talk and when they get the check, the responsiveness falls behind and the details YOU as a couple want don't happen. It's very obvious that these people are sales people doing their job and once the check is cut, it's all up in the air.
As a previous reviewer posted, there was another wedding going on when we were told that there wouldn't be and when we found out that the space was being used, the day of coordinator turned around the issue by complimenting my bridal party, nice, but it doesn't resolve our issues. There honestly is nothing worse than people promising you the world, then on your special day, it was like nothing was ever said.
All in all, this is a wonderful venue that's simply stunning, but hire someone to REALLY help you day of, that knows how to decorate, that knows how to take the brides wants and needs and get things done.
