The Kimpton Hotal Monaco Philadelphia is amazing!
We could not be happier that we chose the Hotel Monaco as our home base for our daughter Maeve and son‑in‑law Thomas’s wedding weekend (November 27-30, 2025). From the very beginning, Talia and the team made us feel welcome, answering every question with patience and professionalism throughout the entire year of planning.
When we checked into the Bridal Suite on Thanksgiving, the staff went above and beyond. The door team helped us unload three fully packed SUVs, and the bell staff — especially Dilbert — made sure everything was brought to the suite quickly and carefully. Every room and suite was perfect, and the front desk team was warm and attentive each time we returned.
Throughout the weekend, the service remained exceptional. The staff handled every last‑minute request on the wedding day with kindness and efficiency, from ice for coolers to small but important in‑suite details. Checkout on Sunday was just as smooth, thanks in large part to Anthony, who was a tremendous help with our departure logistics.
We also loved having the Red Owl Tavern and Stratus right on site — both offered great settings and excellent service for our guests.
Our family and friends shared the same glowing feedback about their stay. We enthusiastically recommend the Hotel Monaco and its incredible team. They helped make our wedding weekend seamless, joyful, and unforgettable, and we would gladly serve as a reference for them. -

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia - Wedding Dream Team
My wife and I recently had our wedding at the Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia and could not be happier with how everything turned out! The team went above and beyond our expectations, ensuring we had the wedding of our dreams. From the time we found Hotel Monaco during our venue search at the wedding expo to the moment my wife and I said "I do" on our wedding day, the Kimpton experience has been second to none. I would like to extend my gratitude to all the staff who helped with the ceremony and reception, as well as the individuals behind the scenes who made it all come together perfectly. Each department/team, ranging from billing/accounting, wedding planning, room blocks, catering, etc. did an exceptional job and should be highlighted. I wish I could name everyone we came in contact with who ensured all our needs were met, but the characters limit would exceed this post. Big shout-outs to Desiree Sklar, Katie Killman, Breanna Rolleand, and Bernardo for being there with us every step of the way. I truly consider them the Wedding Dream Team of Hotel Monaco! My wife and I can not say thank you enough for making our special night one to remember. -

Mother of the Groom
My son got married here, as Mother of the Groom I can say it was the best wedding experience I could ask for. The rooms were beautiful, clean and spacious. The staff were kind, professional and serviced our every need. I'd recommend this hotel for any occasion or event. -

Something to marvel
The hotel Monaco is something to marvel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure my son's wedding went smoothly and I couldn't be more grateful- the staff is a group of professionals who care deeply about what they do and it definitely showed. I am terribly proud of the staff and the 1st class service we received. Thank you, Des, Katie, Bernardo, Derrick, Erin, Khambo, Khalique, Gurgis, Jim. 100% top notch !!! -

Could not recommend more!
The staff at Hotel Monaco was out of this world. From the bellhop, James to every single person we interacted with, they made it their goal to ensure we were happy and well taken care of. Everyone had a smile on their face and was so kind. Katie was an absolute godsend. She was extremely responsive, patient and accommodating. Everything was a dream. We did a micro wedding reception in the Shanghai room. It was the perfect one stop shop for an intimate elopement. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I will forever recommend anyone to not only stay at Hotel Monaco but book their wedding there! -

Best Day and Venue!!!
We had our wedding at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in March 2025, and it was such a beautiful and memorable day. The venue itself is stunning, and our guests were wowed by the unique atmosphere and gorgeous rooms. It was truly the perfect setting for such an important celebration.
From the very beginning of planning—especially as an out-of-town couple—the staff was patient, helpful, and responsive. On the big day, they were present and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly. Their support allowed us to relax and really enjoy the moment, which is all you can hope for on your wedding day.
Like with any large event, there were a few hiccups, but what stood out most was how caring and professional the team was throughout. Their dedication made us feel supported and taken care of, and that made all the difference.
Overall, we are so grateful to the Hotel Monaco team for giving us an unforgettable wedding experience, and we would absolutely recommend it as a venue. -

The Best Day at the Monaco!
We had the absolute wedding of our dreams at Hotel Monaco Philadelphia in July 2025. From start to finish, everything was seamless, elegant, and so memorable. Not only is the Monaco in the best location in Philly, but the venue itself is beautifully unique.
Our ceremony took place in the stunning Lafayette Ballroom, which was the perfect backdrop for our vows, with the sun coming in through the windows. Guests then moved to the Stratus Rooftop for cocktail hour, and it could not have been more magical — the city views, the ambiance, and the service made it unforgettable. Afterward, we returned to the Lafayette Ballroom for our reception with 135 guests, and it was everything we hoped for and more: beautiful, intimate, and full of energy.
What really stood out was the team at Hotel Monaco. Our planner, Katie, was amazing to work with. She guided us through the process, making the planning much easier and ensuring the day flowed flawlessly. On the wedding day itself, Bernardo went above and beyond to make sure our food and drinks were perfect and that every guest was taken care of. Their professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness made such a difference.
We were even able to keep Red Owl Tavern open a little later for an after party, which was the perfect way to cap off the celebration. Our guests are still raving about the food, drinks, and the overall atmosphere.
We cannot recommend Hotel Monaco enough for a wedding. It’s a truly stunning venue with an incredible staff that made us feel celebrated and cared for every step of the way. We’ll cherish this day forever! -

Hotel Monaco/Stratus Lounge Wedding
Our experience at Hotel Monaco was exceptional. From the moment we met Katie Killman she helped to deliver our dream day. She was in communication with all of our vendors and made sure everything was seamless. We did not have to worry about one thing on our wedding day. She was extremely professional and was always 10 steps ahead. The entire staff was wonderful and accommodating. We had multiple guests tell us that this was the best wedding they've ever been to and we could not agree more! -

The best day ever
We just had our derby-themed wedding at hotel Monaco with our cocktail hour/ watching the derby at the stratus lounge. Words cannot describe how wonderful everything went. Desiree went above and beyond, always making us feel special and was attentive to our needs. We asked a million questions.
The hotel only hosts one wedding per day so we were happy to get into the ballroom really for set up. We even set up a first look early at the lounge. And shoutout to chef Charles! We had a special derby themed wedding cocktail hour and desserts! Everyone raved over the pimento cheese, southern biscuits and gravy, and pecan derby dessert pies.
The suite was big enough for hair and make up. The hotel had special treats all lined up for our dog Snacks!
Thank you for helping our day run so smoothly. It’s always hectic, but everything worked out! -

Fun City Wedding of My Dreams
I wanted to have a fun-filled city wedding and the Kimpton Hotel Monaco brought all the best vibes!
I took my venue tour with Desiree and from the very beginning she brought high energy. She showed everything the venue had to offer and described what our day would look like! She has great vision while keeping our preferences at the foresight. At every step of the planning process, she was able to break down my options and guide me to what would be best for what my vision was. Desiree was also my day-of coordinator, and she was so professional. She kept my timeline tight while also finding me time with my new husband away from the crowd. She made sure that I got time to enjoy our food choices, even set us up with our own charcuterie board during cocktail hour so that we were able to have some instead of missing anything due to the busy timeline. She was also so supportive of our guests. My FIL had a blood sugar drop right before our ceremony, and he raves about how caring Desiree was in helping him!
The Hotel facilities were amazing for our special day. I was set up in the presidential suite as the bridal suite, and this room was amazing. Space for all my bridesmaids to relax and hair and make up professionals had plenty of space! The natural light from the window made for amazing morning selfies, and my view of independence hall and the mall was crazy!
We had our ceremony in Stratus Lounge and the club seating made it feel so intimate and not like hundreds of people were staring at you. It honestly felt like only a few people close to us until out officiant had us look our over the crowd. The architecture added an old-school city rooftop vibe, and my guests LOVED the angel wings. Everyone was taking pictures in front of them during cocktail hour.
The reception space was so nice. The soft purple walls felt very elegant! The space was easily customizable to our needs. They had all the options for size of tables, types of tables, etc. I loved that we had two bar set-ups so there was never a line at the bar! The food they served at the reception was to-die-for! Everything was so delicious!
This venue was worth everything penny I have them, and my guest are still telling me how great everything was!-

The BEST wedding venue in Philly
If I could give Hotel Monaco and their staff 10 stars, I would. From beginning to end this venue went above and beyond for us. Our wedding was truly the best day of our lives and not a SINGLE thing went wrong. Desiree and Emily Elizabeth heard my vision and implemented it flawlessly. Seriously, wouldn’t change a single thing. From ensuring the guests, bridal party, and us (the bride and groom) had everything they needed at all times, were fed, and enjoying themselves to things like day-of coordination and sign creations - it was all perfect. The staff became like family to us and they were always flexible and accommodating. Desiree ran my bouquet out to me before the first look when my florist ran a little bit late - the effort these women put in to their job is incredibly evident, but they’re also genuinely kind people. The layout is fantastic for keeping your guests interacting with each other, the bartenders rocked, and the decor already in the ballroom is stunning (I.e. chandeliers, etc.). The guests also raved about our maitre d, Bernard, who made sure we were never without anything and brought smiles to our guest’s faces with his energy. Being able to have guests stay in the venue and have cocktail hour on the roof, ceremony and reception in the ballroom, and then back up to the roof for the afterparty was SO incredibly easy and made it a more enjoyable experience for everybody. I truly had THE most perfect day and it went better than I could have ever imagined and I truly attribute that to Desiree, Emily Elizabeth, and the rest of the Hotel Monaco staff. If you’re looking for a venue that will make your life easy and ensure you have the best day of your life - BOOK HOTEL MONACO!!!! We love you guys and thank you! -

Exceptional!
My husband and I recently wed at the Hotel Monaco back in June of this year. Our wedding day was perfect. Katie Killman who was our wedding coordinator was amazing. If there was anything that we needed or didn’t account for, she took care of it. As a bride, I was able be present with my guests and enjoy the day with no worries! Bernardo (not sure what his title was) provided exceptional service and was a guest favorite. He made sure that my husband was taking care of and kept us on schedule as well.
We also enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the hospitality was phenomenal. Everyone was incredibly attentive and super friendly from the time we checked in until we checked out. We stayed in a corner suite which had excellent views of the city and also had a complementary bottle of champagne with a note congratulating us!
My husband and I are already making plans to stay again this coming spring and would definitely recommend staying here! -

Desiree is the best!
We recently had our wedding at Stratus Lounge, the rooftop of Hotel Monaco, and it was absolutely perfect. Desiree is truly amazing, and was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She made us feel so special by listening to our unique ideas and pushing us in the right direction whenever we were uncertain. Desiree swooped in to save the day multiple times throughout the wedding weekend, and we received several compliments about how professional and sweet she was on our big day.
Guests also loved the food and thought the ceremony set up was so unique and beautiful. Being two brides, we both wanted to walk down the aisle at the same time, so Stratus was perfect because we could each come from one of the houses (Mist and Vapor) on either side. We had the ceremony (and later the band / reception) right under the wings in the center of the rooftop. Even though we didn’t have a sit down dinner, all 140 guests had a place to sit and eat or lounge if they didn’t want to dance.
It was the perfect night, better than we could ever dream, and that’s all thanks to Desiree and team! We’ll be coming back to Hotel Monaco every year to relive the magic, that’s for sure :) -

Perfect space for a micro wedding
We had a micro wedding of 30 people in the Shanghai room. It was perfect for a romantic intimate wedding with a cocktail hour, delicious dinner and cake. We had the best day of our lives here and we have to thank Desiree and Katie for helping make the day go seamlessly. What a beautiful space for a small wedding. Highly recommend their room for anyone considering a smaller wedding! -

July Wedding
We used Hotel Monaco for our wedding and it was absolutely the BEST! First off, our wedding coordinator Katie was amazing. From planning prior to the wedding, rehearsal, and the day of, Katie was attentive, sweet, and just a pleasure to work with. And upon check in, we received a handwritten note from staff (Joann) congratulating us on the big day and making us feel extra special. As for the big day, all our guests loved having cocktail hour on the roof. And special shoutout to Bernard! He was absolutely the best!! He continuously checked up on us throughout the night and made sure I never had an empty glass in hand :) Although I only could name a few, the entire staff was truly amazing. Lastly, James, the GM personally reached out to us and checked up on us to make sure we had the best experience which we truly appreciated. Overall, choosing Hotel Monaco was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and would highly recommend to others who are in search for a venue!-

The Hotel Monaco is second to none. The staff, location, food and planning was excellent.
We just had our daughter's wedding at the Hotel Monaco and it was spectacular. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and we were able to have the ceremony on the roof at the Stratus Lounge which was so unique and special. As far as the planning is concerned, Katie was beyond exceptional and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was kind, reassuring and extremely timely in her responses to our multitude of questions. There is no situation that she cannot solve. The staff was amazing including the valet, reception, reservations coordinator and the waitstaff for the wedding. No issues at all. And a special shoutout to Bernardo who was the maitre-d for the tasting. He was so much fun and made the experience very special. The food was abundant and excellent. Our guests raved about the cocktail hour and some were stuffed by the time the meal was served. The hotel is located in Old City directly across from Independence Hall and easily accessible from the airport for out-of-town guests. Consequently, there is a multitude of sites to visit and restaurants for guests during downtime. I would not hesitate to recommend the Hotel Monaco to anyone. It is superb! -

Simply the best, highly recommend!
From the moment we met Katie at the Philadelphia Wedding Expo, we knew there was something special about the Hotel Monaco, and our first tour confirmed that. Upon entering Stratus, we instantly knew this would be the perfect venue for our wedding day - it fit our personalities, the vibe we were looking for, and the layout/aesthetic was absolute perfection. And getting to work with Katie was the cherry on top. She was amazing throughout the entire planning process (very responsive and accommodating), and she was absolutely essential in making our wedding day the most special and perfect. We can’t say enough great things about her and the rest of the Hotel Monaco team. Highly recommend them for any wedding/event! -

Our Magical Day
Words cannot explain how magical our special day was thanks to the team at Hotel Monaco. Katie our coordinator was extremely responsive and gave great ideas for our special day. From the server Bernado who served the wedding party and guest to the bartender Brittany we received exceptional service. Bernado was very high energy with his amazing voice! Katie took a ton off our plate in what is a very stressful experience. The morning of our event, Katie came to my suite to assist with decorative items and ensured everything was perfect! I truly appreciate the service we received and can't wait to visit Hotel Monaco for our 1-year wedding anniversary. -

November wedding
We just had a wedding here early November and they executed everything so flawlessly. Katie was so responsive and helpful through over a year of planning. She got back to us with any question, doubt or change so quickly and went above and beyond for helping us organize things with our vendors from the dj and timeline to the flowers and officiant. They know what they're doing at hotel Monaco and you won't have to worry about anything cause they will be very hands on helping you along the way. We had our ceremony of 74 people on the roof and then went to the ballroom for our reception.
Everything looked really beautiful in our pictures.
People loved the food, the vibe and atmosphere and the hotel itself. Communication was always clear and we ended up doing a rehearsal dinner with them which they did a great job with. They catered to my special diet and worked with me with the cocktail hour making sure I could eat and enjoy the day. Katie made us feel confident any time we saw her during the wedding and rehearsal dinner that she had us taken care of and things would be alright.-

Amazing wedding venue!
We cannot say enough good things about our experience having our wedding at the Hotel Monaco--it was simply amazing! Planning a wedding was new territory for us, but Desiree and the entire Hotel Monaco Team made it such a wonderful and pleasant experience. Desiree and the team were unbelievably patient, accommodating, creative, friendly, and just SO much fun to work with. Not only is the venue itself amazing with a beautiful ballroom and stunning rooftop, the food and atmosphere are truly top notch. A Dream Wedding
We had our wedding at the LaFayette Ballroom in Hotel Monaco in September of 2023. Desiree was our wedding coordinator and she went above and beyond to ensure that everything about our special day was perfect. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the level of service we received. I would unequivocally recommend this venue for your special day. -

Hotel Monaco was the perfect wedding venue. Desiree made all of our dreams come true, including a rooftop reception. The food was amazing and all the vendors the hotel recommended were also a 10/10. Our friends are still raving about our August wedding! Get married here! -

Absolute Perfection!
We used Hotel Monaco as our reception location earlier this month and wish we could do it over and over again. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and extremely meticulous. An Absolute Dream!
I don't even know where to begin to explain how amazing our experience with Desiree and Hotel Monaco was. From the second we saw Stratus Lounge, we knew that was the exact vibe we wanted for our wedding. Stratus is modern, intimate and the perfect rooftop setting. Desiree not only understood the vision for our day, but went above and beyond to make sure it happened. We were absolutely treated like royalty from start to finish throughout the entire planning process. Any little question/concern I had, Desiree was there to calm my nerves as an anxious bride and ensure every single detail was perfect. She even found the most perfect musician for our ceremony--Brian Fitzy (absolutely amazing!!). Our guests RAVED about the food (believe me, this is not your typical wedding food) and speciality cocktails (smoked out old fashioned bar & espresso martinis!). Desiree and the staff got to know us so personally, that they even delivered gifts for our dog when we arrived. The bartenders at the wedding even went as far as to assist us with an after party location (also met us there to continue the fun!) I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Monaco and their entire staff who all made our day an absolute dream come true. Don't think, just get married here! -

Party of a lifetime!
My spouse and I can not rave about Hotel Monaco enough! Our guests, too!-- We continue to get so many compliments on our wedding celebration.
This celebration was a long time coming! My husband and I started planning in 2019, but postponed a couple times due to the pandemic. We finally hosted our reception in July 2023 and we are SOOOO glad we followed through with this party of a lifetime!
Desiree, the Director of Catering, was a fabulous planner and coordinator. Her passion for her job shines through in EVERY conversation and EVERY detail. Her and her team were so attentive and made sure our delayed celebration was nothing less than magical. The Monaco's team, especially Desiree, stay calm, cool, and collected and really help ease the nerves that come with planning a party. They ensured that everything carried out swimmingly! Even on the day of the party, Desiree made sure to check in with me and my husband and reassure us that all our plans and decor were getting set up as planned.
At the celebration, the food was incredible! The atmosphere was stunning. And, the staff was attentive, friendly, and so cheerful to be apart of the party!
We held our cocktail hour in Stratus the rooftop lounge and then moved down to the ballroom for dinner and dancing. We also had a room block with the hotel. And, we even had breakfast the next morning in the attached restaurant, Red Owl. Hotel Monaco has the FULL package and made this party truly a dream come true. -

Loved this hotel

Beautiful Venue - Amazing Staff!

Our dream wedding
When we first began planning our wedding we quickly felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices we needed to make. When we met with Desiree at the Hotel Monaco to tour the venue we were so impressed with how beautiful the space was and, more importantly, how supportive Desiree was in planning the day. Desiree answered all of our questions, helped us find the perfect vendors, and made sure the day went off without a hitch! Their recommended vendors were all so amazing both in the quality of their work and clear communication to ensure everything went smoothly. The best night of my life.
Desiree is a dream, and she not only made the night perfect but the whole experience absolutely seamless. She is unbelievably responsive and truly aims to to please and take care of the couple in every way possible. Wonderful Venue
We chose the Monaco as our wedding venue for its convenience and amazing reviews and we weren't disappointed. We were initially planning to get married during the early pandemic months and decided to completely cancel our wedding only to rebook a year later, and Desiree could not have been more gracious to welcome us back. We decided to do a completely vegetarian menu and while the chef had some limitations on what he could do outside of their usual offerings, we ended up with a wonderful custom buffet that we and our guests were very happy with. Desiree was hugely helpful both before and on our wedding day and with her help we did not need to hire a planner or day-of wedding coordinator. The Monaco also hosted our post wedding breakfast which was perfect. Our family and guests were all incredibly impressed with this venue and staff. Thanks so much! -

Great experience!

Wish we could relive the day
The staff at Kimpton Hotel Monaco were amazing. From the day we went to visit the venue leading up to the day of the wedding. They made me feel comfortable welcomed and like family. Desiree was awesome with answering all my questions during the first stages and the Shannon came in and continued to make sure that every last detail down to making sure my nerves on the day of were handled and taken care of. Bernardo gave us an awesome tasting and made sure my husband and I wanted for nothing on our actual wedding day/night. Phenomenal Experience, feels like family & home!
I don't know where to begin in this review for Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia. Even from our initial appointment way back when, we were given the royal treatment. All of the small little moments & details (which many may overlook) were made to be incredibly special. Desiree Sklar (director of catering and the venue's dedicated wedding coordinator) is INCREDIBLE at what she does. Anytime we had a concern or a question, she quickly put us at ease. This certainly was not an easy feat given how particular we are and all of the gymnastics she had to go through in the height of the pandemic. She truly makes magic happen. She was who we met with initially, and she was there with us through the thick and thin of it all along the way, including the entire day and night of! The hotel is beautiful, eclectic, extravagant, and so much more. We've never had a bad meal the many times we've eaten there. It honestly feels like home, and we were made to feel like family. The energy we created was infectious. Not only were we as newlyweds and all of our guests having the best time, all of our vendors worked together in harmony and all of the staff were excited to be there too. There are too many to name, but all of the staff was fantastic and went out of their way to ensure we were well cared for. Our wedding was perfect and it was well worth the wait (even with the extra year we needed to wait because of Covid). I can't think of anything I would've wanted to go differently. We knew it was going to be great, but we're still blown away by how amazing everything was. We still have people coming up to us telling us it was the wedding of the century, the best wedding they've ever been to, the best time they've ever had, the most beautiful venue, and more! Thank you to everyone that came together to make this happen, we can't wait to share our photo and video footage with everybody and relive it again. We'll never forget this, and luckily since we're local we can come visit anytime! -

The Kimpton is a Dream!
Booking the Kimpton for our wedding was the best decision we made for the big day! Desiree and the rest of the Kimpton staff is a delight to work with, especially when postponing our wedding from 06/27/2020 to 06/20/2021. Desiree was in constant communication to help make our new day special with all of the necessary COVID precautions. We love the retro and classic feel of the Kimpton in the heart of Philadelphia. We're so excited for the big day coming soon!
After the wedding: Our wedding day was an absolute dream come true all thanks to the Kimpton Hotel Monaco and the amazing staff there, especially Desiree our wedding coordinator!! First and foremost, the Kimpton and the Stratus rooftop is absolutely stunning, the décor along is funky, modern and edgy. This includes the Mist and Vapor rooms and on the roof and every hallway/corner in between! The food was delicious from start to finish and it is kept coming! The best part was the venue included all of the food, passed apps, cheese platter, platted dinner, passed desserts (everyone loved the fries at the end!) and the wedding cake from Brendenbecks! This made planning so much easier! The star of the show is definitely our amazing coordinator Desiree! She has been there for us not only each step of the planning, but through date changes and our questions and concerns about COVID guidelines. We decided to have a very small 50 person wedding on the rooftop, and she turn the roof into the most beautiful wedding spot ever! All we did was bring her the decorations and she set them up perfectly and thoughtfully. She also helped with giving out vouchers for parking, practicing with our bridal party for the ceremony and SO much more. Thank you Desiree and everyone at the Kimpton for making out day so special, fun and memorable! If you are looking for a city venue that is affordable, funky, fun and include so much with the overall price, book the Kimpton today!!! -

Covid Bride
My fiancé and I have been planning our New Year’s Eve dream wedding since last year around this time. ( pre-Covid) during that time Desiree kept us informed and was able to help us make decisions regarding our dream wedding. When we were told that due to state guidelines we would have to postpone our party Desiree was with us each step of the way! They made our dreams come true!
I honestly don't even know where to begin when reviewing the Hotel Monaco as a wedding venue. We booked the venue because of the beauty of the space and the competence of the team there. The cocktail hour on the Stratus Lounge and reception in the Lafayette ballroom is the perfect setting for a wedding, especially if you have out of town guests staying at the hotel as well. We loved having everything in one place. We even had our welcome drinks at the Red Owl Tavern, which made it so easy. Mid-way through our planning process, the team actually changed out, and Jackie became our new go-to person. I can honestly say that having Jackie become our wedding coordinator/manager was the single best thing to happen to us during the entire planning process. She has an incredibly rare combination of intelligence, patience, diligence, and excellent client management that makes you feel taken care of. We really trusted her, and we know she played an integral part in the success of our day. To give you an example of how detail oriented and caring she is, my grandmother passed just a few weeks before the wedding. She gifted me a small token of remembrance with a beautiful note. I was totally taken aback, and it made me realize how important it is to have someone like her planning the biggest day of your life. In addition to Jackie, Tinisha handled all of our room reservations. She was AMAZING. She was the most responsive person I have ever worked with, her communication was flawless. She also artfully handled a couple of room switches, and went way above and beyond to make people in our room block happy. Carly handled all of the financials for us, and while this role doesn't always get a lot of love because they're not in the "fun" parts of the planning, she was a big part of everything going smoothly, especially with a lot of last minute changes. Bernardo was our maitre'd for the evening. People are still coming up to me and talking to me about how amazing he was, our wedding was 2 months ago. He truly made the party go on and on and on. A bit more about the reception space... it is a little small, but don't let that deter you. The size of the room made our party absolutely bumpin'. There was not a single soul that did not dance. Our dance floor was packed, but it felt like a true party. We just could not have imagined having our wedding anywhere else. GET MARRIED HERE!!!! -

Our wedding venue search started and ended with the Hotel Monaco. Literally we went to look at one other venue after seeing the Hotel Monaco just to be polite as it was too soon to cancel but we knew we found the perfect spot right away. We initially worked with Matt Bassant although he left half way through the planning process. We had a completely smooth transition and began working with Jackie DeLawrence. The building, convenience of hotel and venue in one, decor and vibe were exactly what we were looking for. The food, alcohol and accommodations were above and beyond and every request we had was fulfilled without batting an eye. It was truly customer service at its finest. The bell hops and valet will know your name and remember it after your first meeting and somehow knew we were a bride and groom hosting an event there every time we pulled up. The best part of hosting your wedding there is you can tell everyone who works at the Monaco loves their job and this truly translates to the service. Eduardo was our head server at the wedding and I still am in awe of how amazing he was and how well he took care of us and our guests. Btw he also as the voice of an angel I'm not kidding I almost fell off my feet when he sung. The food at the wedding was not your typical wedding food and was delicious. Hats off to the chef for serving 130 piping hot, spot on meals that everyone raved about. Hosting a farewell brunch at the red owl tavern was a cherry on top. Again our guests were catered to and enjoyed every bite of food. Thank you to everyone who played a hand in our wedding. It was truly the best night of our lives thanks to you all!! -

We had our wedding here in January of 2018. We had about 100 guests. Everything was amazing from the food, the staff (especially valet attendants!), appearance of the hotel, and the service. The catering sales manager, Matt Basset was also nothing short of amazing. He quickly answered ALL of my MANY emails and kept me calm and feeling good about all of our decisions for the wedding. We had a lot of out of town family come to our wedding & they stayed at the hotel. They raved about how great everything was. There were a lot of things locally for them to do in Old City Philadelphia as well, which was a plus for people wanting to explore the city. We highly recommend you look into Hotel Monaco Philadelphia for any event! -

A huge thank you is owed to Janet and her team at Hotel Monaco for an absolutely perfect reception! From the start, all of our interactions have been exceptional. Janet hosted my now-husband and I for our initial meeting and we instantly fell in love with the hotel and the ballroom. Janet has been in the business for awhile and helped us novices navigate wedding planning (she even helped us select our rehearsal dinner venue). She gave a full list of preferred vendors, all of which turned out to be amazing! We used the Girard room for the cocktail hour and the Lafayette Ballroom (across the hall) for the reception dinner, all are located on the ground floor and were convenient for guests, the majority of which stayed at the hotel.
The ballroom is absolutely stunning, with beautiful banquet chairs and decor. You don’t need to purchase or rent your own linens or dancefloor or tables! In addition, the food is divine. Philip and I had such fun at the tasting with Janet and Bernardo (our server) and fell in love with every dish that was served. Everything tasted even better on our actual wedding day and my husband and I were spoiled with our own server who made sure I had a drink in my hand the entire night!
Hotel Monaco made everything so easy for us because everything was taken care of for us - including a day-of coordinator, which allowed myself and my friends and family enjoy the day with no responsibilities. In addition, when the bridal party was stranded in the limo because of a crazy thunderstorm, the staff at Hotel Monaco formed an umbrella tunnel for the bridal party to enter through. These little details, as well as the grand-scale coordination, are what makes Hotel Monaco so special. Best wedding ever! -

The Monaco more than lived up to its status as the “#1 Wedding Hotel” in Philadelphia. Every inch of the hotel was beautiful and made for a perfect backdrop for our pictures. The staff was attentive to our every need, going above and beyond to address small issues and surprising us with chocolates, wine, and prosecco. Our guests loved every moment of their stay. The Hotel Monaco was a great choice for our wedding room blocks. We did not have our actual wedding at the Monaco because we were going for an industrial look for our wedding and had to book elsewhere. That said, we had our rehearsal dinner, after party dinner/drinks, farewell brunch, and guests room blocks at the Monaco and I have nothing but great things to say. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, as are the rooms and the views. The corner suite I used to get ready housed all eight of my bridesmaids, three hair/make up people, two mothers of the bride, and a few others comfortably. My friends and family were able to bring their dogs with them, and used a service through the hotel to get their dogs walked while we were at the wedding. The staff is super helpful and friendly, I worked with Katie who was a great help and very responsive. The rehearsal dinner at The Red Owl Tavern was wonderful, albeit pretty expensive. It would be ideal if they had a more private room at the tavern for a party of our size (50 people) but regardless it was a great meal with friendly staff. We went to the Stratus Rooftop after the rehearsal dinner and used one of the lounges. This was one of our favorite parts. Everyone was able to mingle and the atmosphere was amazing. The Farewell brunch was also a great add-on we did, using one of their smaller ballrooms to host our guests. Everyone kept talking about how great the food was and how beautiful the hotel was. And let's not forget the location.... right in the heart of center city. Would highly recommend the Hotel Monaco to any bride! -

We had an amazing time here at our wedding. The staff was on hand every step of the way and we had what we needed every step of the way as we planned and coordinated. Samantha had started going over everything with us however, she wound up accepting another opportunity elsewhere and Matt had stepped into oversee the rest of our event. The transition was flawless and needless to say our ceremony and reception was truly amazing thanks to their planning and the venue itself. We can't thank them enough. Highly recommend! -

My husband I had our wedding at the Hotel Monaco one Saturday night this past August. From start to finish everything was absolutely incredible! The wedding coordinator Janet and her entire team went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was perfect. Specifically, bar service and table service were more professional than any wedding we have ever been to AND the room looked absolutely stunning. The decor matched so perfectly with our flowers and we were thrilled with how quickly they converted the room between ceremony and reception. The food was delicious too, especially the passed hors d'oeuvres and the short ribs. Additionally, guests adored the hotel rooms especially the fact that the hotel staff hand delivered each individual welcome bag to each hotel room! I can't thank everyone at the Monaco enough, it truly was the most magical night!!!!! -

We got ready the morning of our wedding at Hotel Monaco, had our Cocktail Hour on the Stratus Rooftop Lounge, and held our Reception in the Lafayette Ballroom on the Sunday of Memorial Day, 2016.
Hotel Monaco was the first venue we looked at. Being very indecisive, I felt the need to explore practically every other option in the city before deciding to move forward with the Monaco. But, really, there was no comparison. The combo of the Stratus, the beautiful Lafayette Ballroom and the Old City location is unbeatable.
I should also say that holding our wedding on a Sunday (even though it was Memorial Day weekend), the Monaco offered us an AMAZING deal. Honestly, we would not have been able to afford this venue if we held our wedding on a Saturday, and Janet was truly accommodating in tweaking our menu to get us in right where we wanted to be, budget-wise.
Our families were coming to Philadelphia from all over the country, so this was the perfect spot for us to host our pseudo-destination wedding. The Monaco gave us an excellent room block rate compared to other (less-nice) hotels in the area, and our guests loved the free happy hour every night in the lobby!
Throughout the entire year and a half planning process, Janet was incredibly responsive, helpful, and patient with my constant questions, and was present on the day of the wedding, making sure everything we had discussed was in place.
Our guests raved about the food (the short rib!! the crab cakes!) and the service throughout the evening was exceptional. My husband and I felt so well cared for and the catering staff had taken care of every detail. Another huge plus was that the Monaco only hosts one wedding a night. I would highly recommend the Monaco to any bride. The venue goes far and above a “standard” ballroom and the staff are phenomenal. -

We blocked rooms at the Hotel Monaco Philadelphia for our out-of town guests, used a suite for bridal party hair and make-up and hosted a brunch the morning after the wedding in the Lafayette ballroom. I was thoroughly impressed with the service and professionalism of everyone I worked with throughout the process. From the initial set up and booking of the room block with Brian Brazina, to selecting the catering options with Samantha Levy, to the responsiveness of the staff at the hotel all weekend, I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone to use this hotel on your wedding weekend. -

I recommend this venue HIGHLY. If you are even considering another venue, quickly come to your senses and go with the Hotel Monaco. We had the best experience with this hotel largely due to the people we dealt with. Everyone was genuinely kind and very helpful. Every detail was handled and I feel like I just showed up at my own wedding and everything was perfect and handled as if I'd done the smallest detail myself.
This boutique hotel is beautiful and all options for venues are excellent (and unique). We did the Stratus Lounge which was awesome and totally out of the ordinary. Couldn't have been better.
Samantha Levy ran our event and you should have her run yours too!!

We are over the moon about our recent wedding reception at the Hotel Monaco. Janet and her team did a marvelous job in helping us make our day special.
The ballroom is just stunning and required little extra from us for it to be a beautiful setting. The staff at the Monaco had everything set up exactly how we discussed and I have no reason to worry throughout the day. Our guests were raving about the food and the cake.
Throughout the planning process, Janet was incredibly responsive and quick to suggest alternate vendors whenever we ran into any snags. We were also very pleased with the value Hotel Monaco offered us give the outrageous prices at other venues in the city. The Monaco is a gem! -

HOTEL MONACO of PHILADELPHIA was the site of the wedding of my dreams! From planning to end of my reception everything was flawless!
We felt like our small wedding was the staff's highest priority. The food was AMAZING. Guests raved about the short-rib entree. Our cocktail hour was fantastic- the hors d'oeuvres were incredible. The cheese board was abundant and my personal fav the tuna tartar cone #yummy!! Our cake was also delicious!
We also spent 3 days at the hotel, celebrating with visiting guests. The Red Owl Tavern provided was perfect for a pre-wedding dinner and breakfast. Arranging a block of rooms with a great rate was a breeze

Wow! Wow! WOW! I simply LOVE the staff and venue of the Hotel Monaco. We learned of the Hotel Monaco from a friend who worked there, but did not know much about it going into the process. We learned that their staff is extremely professional, responsive, and just awesome (shoutout to my three ladies: Casey, Carrie, and Sasha and the best person to see when walking into the Monaco, Shawn). They all helped us from the beginning of the process all the way through to the end and beyond! The venue itself is gorgeous, and seeing as almost all of our guests were from out of town, the rooms were incredible.
From cocktail hour on the rooftop (we were blessed with gorgeous weather on the day of our wedding, but were also prepared for rain!) to the reception in the LaFayette Ballroom and brunch the next day, everything was perfect! We had a lot of moving pieces throughout the weekend of the wedding, but everything was completely taken care of from the welcome bags in guest's rooms to menu cards and the placement of our alma maters' flags on our chairs - it was all perfect!
If you're looking for a way to treat your guests to a true Philadelphia experience (Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell are right outside the door!) with a spectacular venue, this is the place for you!
Thank you all at the Hotel Monaco for making our special day an unforgettable one! We will be back to celebrate our anniversaries and maybe have another big party in the future! :-) -

Our Wedding ceremony, reception and after-party were held at the Hotel Monaco, and from the beginning it was clear that the staff wanted us to have a wonderful weekend. Everyone went above and beyond to accommodate us during our stay, and make sure that everything went smoothly. The Director of Catering was always available and the Banquet Manager was in constant contact with us throughout the ceremony and reception to help us along the way. The Lafayette Room was beautiful and the staff did a wonderful job of setting up everything that was needed, and the Vapor room in Stratus was a great place to gather with our close friends and family for an after party. We highly recommend the Hotel Monaco to host your Wedding or special event, you will be in great hands. -

I cannot even begin to thank the team at the Hotel Monaco for making our wedding absolutely perfect! They made the entire planning process (11 months) a complete breeze. We actually worked with three different event managers throughout the process due to new properties opening and promotions within the company, typical of the industry, but each one we worked with was better than the last. I am not sure how this was even possible, as each person we worked with was so responsive, detail orientated, professional, flexible, and truly cared about making our day perfect! Even with the switches not one detail fell through the cracks and it never fell on me to bring the new person up to speed. It was so impressive how consistency was such a priority for them! Janet, the current Director of Catering, as well as Michael and Alison, the Banquet Director & Manager are truly the best in the business.
The venue itself is so beautiful and the ballroom is unlike anything else you can find in the city (believe me, we looked at a ton). There are so many places in and around the hotel for great photo opportunities as well, the decor is truly amazing! The Stratus Rooftop lounge, where we hosted our cocktail hour was awesome. In addition, the location can't be beat and neither can the comfort of the rooms.
The food was delicious, all of our guests raved about how great everything was from the cocktail hour to the reception and late night snack, everything was wonderful.
The team truly brought our wedding dreams to life and made sure everything was perfect, just how we had imagined. As a total Type A bride, the staff at the Hotel Monaco never made me feel bad about my incessant questions and need for confirmation. They were highly attentive and responsive from the very first inquiry to our final goodbyes!
I cannot recommend this venue enough, if you want a spectacular wedding with the utmost attention to detail, this is the place. It is worth every penny! -

My daughter had her wedding reception at the Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia on October 26, 2013. Michael Mitloff, the Director of Catering, could not have been more helpful or willing to please. From the cocktail hour in the Stratus Rooftop Lounge, to the reception in the Lafayette Ballroom, everything was perfect. The food was outstanding, and the staff could not have been more professional. Our post-wedding brunch was even magnificent. Without our asking, the staff saved the flowers from the night before and reused them on the tables. Everyone loved the hotel and its proximity to so many wonderful historical sites. If you have guests who have never been to Philadelphia, you could not pick a better location. We looked at many venues in the city of Philadelphia, and nothing could compare to the level of service and the value that we received at the Hotel Monaco. -

From my first meeting with Matt (our event coordinator from the hotel), I felt like I was the center of their world. We booked the Monaco 13 months in advance, and Matt was excellent about keeping in touch and letting us know where we needed to be in the process. Any missteps were my own doing here (sending out invites before the tasting…you WILL need to provide entrée selections; forgetting to include taxes and fees in my own personal accounting of our total…that hurt!). Upon check in, Patrick (at the front desk) was so helpful with taking our extra guest bags, updating 7 different rooms credit card info, and making many many multiple copies of keys.
I did have some struggles with the room block, they don’t seem to communicate with the event staff regarding the events taking place at their hotel. There were also some communication issues between management and the staff working our wedding in terms of timing.
However, the food was spectacular, the service sublime, and everyone ate and drank their fill all night. The space was beautiful, the rooms upstairs were perfect, and it was everything I wanted for my wedding, and everything I wanted to display about my city to our out-of-town guests. Two months later, I still have people calling me up, just to tell me how fantastic it was – including people who have already called me and just can’t stop gushing! I would go back for literally any event I can think to throw there.

We booked our wedding block of rooms at the Hotel Monaco, and my parents also hosted a morning-after brunch for our immediate family. My husband and I had a beautiful corner suite with an incredible view (discounted with the wedding room block) and the staff left us chocolates and champagne - so thoughtful and appreciated. I wish we had more than just a couple hours in the morning to enjoy it! Brunch was delish, and we had a semi-private area on the second floor of Red Owl Tavern. A word to the wise: at the very end of the night, past midnight, our trolley driver pulled up to the side of the Hotel, not the main entrance. Only my husband and I were on the trolley, along with many heavy coolers, gifts, and overnight bags. We asked him to pull up to the front entrance, and he insisted that he was not "allowed" to, telling my tired groom to go get a luggage cart. He did, reluctantly, and the bellman was helpful with unloading all of our stuff. My contact at the hotel told me later that, yes, typically trolleys are not permitted to pull into the loading zone; however, at that late hour, with little to no guests needing use of the loading zone, they would have made an exception. So be sure to make your driver ask if you are in a similar situation! -

We just got married at the Hotel Monaco, it was absolutely amazing. The venue itself it just so unique and unlike any other venues in the city. It is brand new - so there have only been a handful of weddings there so far. We had our cocktail hour up at Stratus Lounge and then reception in the Lafayette Ballroom. Michael Mitloff helped us with everything and was a pleasure to work with. When I say the Staff is exceptional - that probably doesn't do it any justice. They are responsive, professional, courteous and will doing do whatever they need to, to get you what you want. The hotel Monaco in Philadelphia lives up to its reputation and the Kimpton chain should be be proud. This venue is tailer to more of a smaller/medium size wedding - we had a 215 and it was a little tight - I say under 200 is the ideal. The food is top quality - and what you get at your tasting is exactly what your guest will be getting. I never got so many compliments on how great the food was - including the great cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres. You are in for a real treat and guaranteed a perfect wedding reception at the Hotel Monaco Philadelphia.

Perfect choice for our wedding
Hotel Monaco was the perfect place for our wedding. It had the convenience of a hotel in the city but outdoor beauty with the garden across the street for our ceremony and the rooftop deck for our cocktail hour, and the design of the hotel is artistic and unique. Katie Killman is a fantastic coordinator and the entire staff was lovely during the weekend, from Sage the bellhop who was so helpful multiple times with all our luggage and requests, to the server for the sweetheart table who was so attentive to my husband and I, to the bartenders at the wedding who greeted my husband and I by name, . The corner suites are perfect for getting ready and photographs; the food was delicious; and we loved that everything was dog friendly so our dog could be part of this important weekend! -

Stratus Experience
We had our welcome drinks for our wedding at the Stratus and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The space is absolutely beautiful, and everyone at the hotel was consistently helpful during our wedding weekend. Multiple guests came up to us during the weekend to comment on the excellent quality of the food, as well as raving about the Old Fashioned bar. Particular praise should go to Katie Killman, who made everything super easy for us, and gave us excellent advice on what to and what not to add to our event, as well as being super responsive throughout our planning process. Would highly recommend her for any event planning! -

The absolute best
Me and my husband got married at the hotel monaco on September 30th 2023, and we truly couldn't have had a better experience.
From our very first tour of the venue, we fell in love with the hotel, and all of its allure, especially the ballroom and the rooftop lounge. our coordinator and social catering manager Katie is really what made us feel inclined to sign our contract and have the hotel monaco be our place to host our dream wedding.
Katie was incredibly helpful with all things pricing, food, sharing preffered vendors etc all things that come with her job Im sure, But what made our experience truly special is that we felt katie really understood our vision, and goals for the wedding, and she was so incredibly helpful in helping us execute that down to perfection. Being a very hands on person myself, katie was so great with communication, constantly staying in the loop and checking in, and always making sure she was on the very same page as us throughout the planning process.
very long story short, Katie Killman and Hotel Monaco are at 11/10, we cannot recommend them more, and we couldn't have possibly had a better wedding, thanks to them! -

Great venue and phenomenal service
We're getting married here in 2021. From the very first interaction (thru planning, etc.), Desiree and her team rolled out the red carpet. Beyond their expertise, they are truly human - setting our mind at ease about everything (both normal wedding-related worries and added complexity of the pandemic). They also recognized the importance of our culture by agreeing to prepare a special Filipino dish for our guests. Highly recommend. -

Absolutely, hands down best venue you could ask for. From our first visit, before we had even booked the venue, the valets knew our names and were expecting us. The hotel itself is beautiful with slightly funky, non-traditional decor that already puts it ahead of the game from a traditional "hotel wedding". The staff are totally attentive and Janet makes you feel totally at ease. The day of our wedding both Janet and Matt were on hand throughout the entire day (even at our ceremony that was off site) to make sure everything went off without a hitch, down to the smallest details. And the food.....omg, don't even get me started on the food! From the kids and their kids meals to my most picky/foodie friends; multiple people told me it was some of the best wedding food they had ever had (cocktail hour and dinner)!
I took off one star for flexibility only because i would have like a little more like flexibility with check-in/check-out times for the day of the wedding (being able to get in a little earlier than 3pm) and the morning after (not having to rush to get out before noon).
Bottom line though, you could not ask for more professional, capable and downright awesome people/venue to trust with the biggest event of your life! -

Our wedding at Hotel Monaco was beautiful. The venue itself is a perfect setting and our guests loved being able to stay at the hotel. The food was highly above average and we were able to work with Michael to create our own menu. Michael also was a huge help with coordinating our ceremony. All the staff were attentive and professional. Our guests also could not stop raving about their experience! My husband and I wish we could have another wedding there! -

We booked Monaco exactly a year before our wedding, and couldn't be happier with our decision. We had multiple events at the venue, and Matt and his team were more than accommodating to our random requests. The ballroom is beautiful and with a little bit of decor, the reception came to life!
My tasting experience with them was phenomenal! I couldn't decide on what to chose but loved tasting every dish that they prepared.
We had a few guests staying in the hotel and they all couldn't stop gushing about how much fun they had at the hotel. Let me just say that if you want a city wedding with a guest list that isn't crazy long, Monaco is perfect!
The only challenge I had, and maybe this is my fault, that I didn't get all my stuff back from the venue that I used for decor and other things. I should have been more upfront about wanting it back!
Matt is amazing though, you will live every moment of working with him!-

Janet and her team at the Hotel Monaco did an extraordinary job helping us plan and coordinate our September 2016 wedding. The staff was responsive and professional throughout the entire planning process. The reception went smoothly -- the team at the Hotel Monaco thought of every detail necessary to have our reception go off without a hitch. The food was delicious, the drinks were plentiful, and the waitstaff was great. Our reception was even more fantastic than I dreamed it could be. -

We used the Hotel Monaco as our main hotel for guests, as well as the staging area for the wedding party to get ready, as a place to take photographs for the wedding party, and as the after-party location (rooftop bar).
It was pretty nice, but extremely expensive. The pictures we took there came out nice.
Also, the room keys did not work well on the day we were there.
The rooftop bar was a pretty good after-party location, although I don't recall many specific details about it.
The wedding suite was really great, and many of our friends hung out there after the wedding. The tub in the room was fantastic, and we were happy to relax there in the morning before breakfast.
Breakfast at the restaurant/bar downstairs was also pretty great.

Traumatic Experience with wedding block at Kimpton Hotel Monaco
If you are reading this and considering using Kimpton Monaco for your wedding block, CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED! Don’t be fooled by the fact that they host many wedding blocks; they are totally in over their heads and don’t have the capacity to manage your wedding block booking. It was disastrous for every aspect of our wedding. The baskets our parents spent hours putting together were never given to the guests. In fact, the hotel LOST them. When the bride arrived the day before the wedding, the hotel did not provide the bridal suite we had booked to get ready. The room that the bride was assigned had a huge rip in the carpet, ruining pictures and injuring the bride’s 92 year-old grandma and infant/toddler nieces. The air conditioning didn’t work. The room had no chairs for the bridesmaids to use for getting ready. When we requested chairs to be delivered (the room was supposed to come with 2), they never arrived. When the bride called an hour later to ask for a status update, the concierge told the bride, “I don’t have time, I’m hanging up now.” This happened with every request made on our wedding day, setting our entire timeline back. The ceremony started late because of the hotel’s incompetence. The icing on the cake was when the bride and groom returned to spend their wedding night and the room hadn’t been cleaned and all of the food had spoiled. Also, bride and groom nearly missed their own brunch waiting for the hotel to bring a cart up so they could check out. They were refused late check out when they were told the cart was running late.
The manager, Ian Ballinger, took the weekend off and was completely unavailable.
Rachel, the front office director, heroically stepped in to try to make things right after this horrible experience. While Rachel was the only professional we encountered, nothing can right the wrongs inflicted by this hotel on such a momentous weekend/day. -
