  Best Vintage Hotel Venue in Austin

  This was the most dreamy venue I could have ever asked for. We wanted an outside area under a tree for the ceremony (nailed it), and an indoor ballroom for reception (it had 8 chandeliers.. so dreamy), and onsite food (their food from Goodall's had raving reviews from our guests. We even had a few say it was the best wedding food they had ever had!!) They provided a personal VIP concierge for my husband and I throughout the entire reception, the events manager Molly was a doll and quickly responded to anything and everything, and the vintage vibe fit my taste and personality so much. 100% 10/10 recommend. The venue can hold 200. We had about 80 guests.

  Gorgeous venue, amazing staff!

  We booked Hotel Ella in February 2020, and a month later we all went into lockdown for COVID. Jaycie at Hotel Ella was so flexible with us as we planned our wedding while the pandemic continued. In July, we started talking back up plans and she was able to help us make a Plan B with a small guest list (family and wedding party). They were so flexible to save two dates for us while we waited until October to postpone. Throughout the whole process, the Hotel Ella staff kept it fun and optimistic.
  
  We did postpone, and had our small wedding in February 2021. The weekend of our wedding the worst winter storm hit Texas, and the staff was so flexible to move our ceremony to be covered and cocktail inside the week of our date. Everything was perfect. Our guests loved the food and the space.
  
  We can't wait to have our postponed large reception in August with Hotel Ella!! If you want an amazing space and amazing people to work with, we definitely recommend having your wedding here!

  We got married in Austin this summer, with the reception at Hotel Ella. It could not have been more perfect!
  
  If you're considering hosting an event here - do it! Shelby and the rest of the events staff were incredibly helpful. She was prompt in her every response during the planning process. I asked a TON of questions, which she fielded with kindness, and I felt confident every detail was taken care of. The food/drinks were phenomenal, and the space is again...just beautiful!
  
  Accommodation-wise, the guest rooms are stunning. We had people in both the mansion and the back portion of the hotel. My now husband, a large portion of our families and a number of guests also stayed at the hotel leading up to and several days after the wedding festivities. Everything about Hotel Ella is lovely - the grounds, the parlor bar, the restaurant, the lobby, the pool and the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful at every step of the way. The food at Goodall's Kitchen was delicious. We loved the intimate, on-trend pool area. We also enjoyed sitting out on the veranda of the mansion! Location wise - you're right next to the UT campus, and we found it to be a nice and quiet area. We also felt downtown was totally accessible from Hotel Ella.
  
  A couple logistical things: all of the rooms we had did contain small mini-bar fridges with enough space to stick ancillary items we grabbed from the store. We felt there was plenty of storage space in all the rooms -some had closets, others had large, roomy armoires. We do not live in Austin, so EVERYTHING we had for our wedding weekend fit into the rooms we reserved, and we didn't run into any problems. We also had the whole wedding party get ready in rooms at the hotel, and there was plenty of room.

Robyn went so far as to watch the weather beforehand (I didn't have a rain plan for the ceremony) and she offered for the ceremony to be at Hotel Ella just in case! We even needed an extra vendor meal that day and Robyn was able to accommodate that request. I couldn't believe it. I would definitely recommend Hotel Ella (and work with the Amazing Robyn if you can!). I met with tons of vendors beforehand, since our wedding was thrown on a tight budget, and Hotel Ella was definitely the best choice since they are totally accommodating and they don't "nickel and dime" you. My guests loved the venue, the food, and the rooms at Hotel Ella. Thank you so much to Robyn and Hotel Ella for my incredible wedding!

  We had the best experience at Hotel Ella for our wedding reception. Not only was the venue beautiful, but the staff, service, and food were flawless and made our wedding day absolutely perfect. We were so incredibly impressed by the staff and how they made us feel like such honored guests. Our friends and family have had countless compliments for Hotel Ella and have said the service and food at the wedding were the best they have ever experienced. Kat and Danielle were a true joy to work with and the entire Hotel Ella team were extremely professional and responsive to our needs. Would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

  We had our reception at Hotel Ella on 4/25 and couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience!! From the start Kat and the events team were super easy to work with. The menu tasting was amazing; the team at Goodall’s went above and beyond and exceeded all of our expectations! On the day of the event everything was perfect! We used the gorgeous side yard and porch for the cocktail hour and move upstairs to the ballroom for the reception. All of our guests absolutely raved about the event and venue! Hotel Ella truly helped us have an amazing wedding reception!

  We had a small wedding off site and used Hotel Ella for our reception. Our wedding was just 35 people, so we were able to use the sectioned off Azela Room and the overflow on the balcony. It was a beautiful Sunday morning brunch (a Bruncheption as my husband called it, he was so happy to have bacon for his wedding), the food was amazing (we had banana fosters french toast - how delish does that sound!!), the staff was so helpful before and during, and the location was wonderful (central location for people in town and those needing to get to the airport). We stayed on property that night in one of the garden suite, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day. We already have reservations for our one year anniversary to stay again and look forward to keeping Hotel Ella apart of our future celebrations.

  What an outstanding experience! This is one beautiful venue your guests will not soon forget. We had our wedding and reception in the ballroom with cocktail hour out on the veranda. It was perfect! The staff was on point the entire evening and even helped us create an impromptu send off with rose petals and all, when we did not originally have one on the schedule! Such an unexpected, wonderful surprise! Our event planner, Kat, was fantastic as well. One recommendation -- if you go with the Hotel Ella, be sure to book your rooms for the wedding party and guests shortly thereafter as they do not have many to go around!

  The venue was picture perfect for my wedding day! All my guests loved all of the food and enjoyed the wedding. I could not imagin having my weddig anywhere else! Hotel Ella was accommodating to my guesting and to myself!!!

  We chose Hotel Ella for my daughter and son-in-laws wedding reception because they wanted a smaller more intimate venue. I had not seen or heard much about the excellence of this beautiful boutique hotel since we do not live in Austin, but oh my! This venue is fabulous. All our family and many friends stayed there and they had nothing by raves for the hotel staff, food, and the service we received. Our reception was rather large but they handled the parking, seated dinner, and the crowd beautifully. The rooms are all large and beautifully decorated. All the staff, especially Kondja Kamatuka, with whom I had many conversations with in the planning of our event, was so polite and professional. We had family members from 18 months old to 93 yrs. and all were comfortable and pampered. Thank you Hotel Ella

  We had our ceremony and reception here and it was picture perfect. Carla and Catherine pulled off my wedding flawlessly. I worked with Carla for a year in preparation for my wedding and she was amazing, very responsive and always answered my questions with complete clarity. I finally met Catherine at my rehearsal and she was my right hand for the wedding weekend. She was very thorough with how I wanted my wedding day to run. All in all perfect day and I have both of these ladies to thank!

  My fiance and I discovered this place when we had a romantic dinner here when we were still dating. The Goodall Wooten House is beautiful, warm, and intimate. We had a small, brunch wedding using the front lawn and entire historical mansion for our ceremony and reception, and it could not have been more perfect. The staff of the hotel was accommodating and flexible when small things went wrong, the day-of coordinator (Amy Kennedy) was amazing, charming, and extremely efficient, and everything from the food to the decor was simply perfect. I would absolutely recommend this venue for ease, beauty, and value.

  I had a GREAT experience with these guys! Like every bride i had no idea what I was doing and they helped me every step of the way. I felt very cared for throughout the entire process. Even things I was hesitant about asking for was taken care of brilliantly. Beautiful location. Great staff. Lauren, my wedding planner was so great! LOVED IT!

  Wonderful! My experience with the planning, tasting and the actual reception held at The Mansion at Judges' Hill was all fantastic!
  
  The groom and I were treated with the utmost special treatment at the tasting. Our choices were paired together with expertise by chef Rob and sous chef Sara so intricately. The coordinators, Amy and Jennifer were in constant contact with me, I felt like I was on top of their to do lists. The day of staff and the coordinator, Jennifer had the reception at a level of glamor gorgeous that I will always remember so vividly. The communication among all departments was flawless!
  
  The staff at The Mansion are what made this entire process remarkable!! From the coordinators, to the chefs, to the day of staff...everyone I worked with blew me away with their thoroughness and professionalism. They all took great care of the groom and I, as well as my guests. My mind was put to ease with the staff of the Mansion in charge. The evening of our special day was of a memorable delight.

  Mansion at Judges Hill is AMAZING! We had our ceremony and reception here and both were perfect. I love the fact that you can have the ceremony outdoors and the reception indoors. Austin can be so hot and giving the guests the luxury of being in air conditioning straight after the ceremony is something they will really appreciate. I also liked the fact that guests could stay at the hotel if they wanted and that there was no transportation needed between a ceremony and reception location. At first I was turned off by the fact that we had to use their catering services, but after experiencing the menu, I fell in love with Sterling Affairs. We are both vegetarians and they went above and beyond to make sure we had delicious buffet full of veggie options. We received numerous compliments on all the aspects of this venue.   Everyone at Mansion at Judges' Hill was fantastic! Everything was organized and ran so smoothly. I had little stress since they coordinated so many of the major details. The site was beautiful and the food fantastic. Thank you Lily and Leeann... you both are wonderful!

  Everyone at Mansion at Judges' Hill was fantastic! Everything was organized and ran so smoothly. I had little stress since they coordinated so many of the major details. The site was beautiful and the food fantastic. Thank you Lily and Leeann... you both are wonderful!

  This place was amazing. My husband and I needed an all-in-one place for the wedding/reception. We were in love with this place from first glance. The history of it is amazing along with the upkeep and ambiance. This place provides the wedding planner, catering, and the wedding and reception site. They were wonderful and went out of their way to help make the day beautiful. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone.

  I worked with Lily planning my event at the Mansion at Judges' Hill-- and I'm very happy with how everything turned out. The Mansion is beautiful, and has a great, accomodating staff. Food (Sterling affairs) was excellent, and everything ran as smoothly as possible on the big day.

  I am so glad we chose this beautiful venue for our wedding reception! They were so great to work with and the atmosphere for a wedding reception was perfect. We found that the catering department was very accommodating and we truly felt like they wanted to help make our day special. The food was amazing - I'm sad we didn't get to eat more! Our guests are still complimenting us on the beautiful venue we chose for our wedding reception. Thank you Carla and Lauren for making our day so special and beautiful - we couldn't have asked for more! :) We look forward to visiting the Mansion in the future and re-living some of our wedding memories!

  Okay, MJH is pricey, but it is so worth it! Amy handled our account and she was always very helpful, informative and very quick to return emails. Brian handled our room block and was very helpful in helping me understand room nights and all that other hotel lingo. As another bride posted (who I believe got married there the day after we did!), the wedding coordinator we were initially using (Jennifer) left and was replaced with Lauren. At first I was a little worried because it was getting close to the wedding, but things couldn't have worked out better. Lauren is a complete doll and was a pleasure to work with. She is young, but is so professional and easy to relate with. She had wonderful suggestions and anything we needed, even during the wedding, she was quick to do with a smile on her face. She made our day go by so smoothly and even sent us huge hunks of our cake back to our room on our wedding night since we didn't really get to eat during the reception. As far as the actual hotel is concerned, it is a beautiful venue that has lovely options for indoor and outdoor festivities.   At around $3000 for only the rental of the venue, it's not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. It's a beautiful alternative to a hotel ballroom with carpet and 4 walls. The venue is a small boutique hotel with beautiful Crape myrtle trees in the courtyard. It has a huge balcony that can fit at least 40 people seated if need be. The inside had chandlers all over and a whole wall of floor to ceiling windows. We easily fit 180 people inside with room for a dance floor and buffet, with a DJ. Beautiful place!
  
  The courtyard with gazebo could also be used for a wedding ceremony, however we did not use this option.
  
  The only thing that I wish could be changed is the amount of time we had the venue. We could only have it from 6pm-11pm. If you have the ceremony there, you get the place early, but since we didn't, we only got the reception time. However, the price doesn't change even if you only do the reception. After the church ceremony at 5pm, and getting to the reception at 6:45, we didn't have much time to party!

  Choosing the venue was hard for me as we only had 2 options for times at the Church. The other option was SFA Intercontinental Hotel but I am so happy I went with MJH. It really is so beautiful and classic. It made for great pictures and everyone had a good time hanging out in the Mansion bar, courtyard, balcony, and event room. It�s a lot more intimate even though it�s a hotel with outside guests. You feel like the whole place is yours. They really work with you to make sure all your needs are met and the event turns out as planned. I would have the reception here again in a heartbeat. The coordinator, Nas (sp?), was really nice and helpful too. The one thing I didn�t really like was their chairs and I thought decorating them looked bad. Also, I wish they had their own speaker system, as well as speakers on the balcony.

Because of that, I don't regret choosing it at all, but we did find some of the staff a little difficult and uncompromising. The coordinator directly in charge of our event was wonderful, very responsive and easy to work with, but in their company chain-of-command, she had very little power. Most of the specific requests we made of the sales director were completely denied, immediately, I might add. At times we also felt like our wedding was just another one to check off the list - they have tons of events there (3 the weekend of our wedding.) Because of that, I was asked the same question many times in the planning process. Overall though, our wedding was wonderful, and when the big day came, all the details played out perfectly. I would recommend this venue, but unlike others that we considered, do not expect them to work with you to negotiate anything. It all started with the sales department, she did not remember me even after meeting me twice, she showed up late for our food tasting and blamed us for being the wrong spot and then she canceled our first tasting 3 days before...we do not live in Austin so it was very frustrating. On a positive note however our event coordinator, Catherine was Amazing! She made the whole day run smoothly and efficiently. The venue is so pretty and the ceremony courtyard was just stunning!
