Smooth, easy, beautiful experience at the Homestead Resort!
Homestead’s Wedding Coordinator: Leah Lancaster is a true gem. Of her numerous positive attributes, she is warm, personable, flexible, accommodating, and communicative. She is also calm and collected, which made the entire planning and execution of our wedding so much more grounded. I trusted her every step of the way without any hesitation. I can’t tell you how much pressure it took off to have her ‘on the ground’ organizing many of the details leading up to and during the wedding. Working with Leah was a highlight of our experience.
Professionalism/Quality of Service: My partner and I had nothing but positive interactions with every member of the Homestead Resort’s staff (front desk, the engineers who drove us on golf carts from our rooms to the venue, the wait and service staff, the general manager…) everyone was friendly and caring and good at their jobs. We chose to have a plated meal service for our guests, and the food was plentiful (the portions were large!) and everything they served was delicious. Our wedding cake was included in the package, and sending the baker some photo ideas/flavor preferences was all it took to get that organized (so simple). The Homestead Resort staff really made everything flow smoothly.
Resort: One of the reasons we chose the Homestead Resort is because of its ‘old Utah’ charm and history. While we still were able to capture that feeling, it is important to note that the resort and surrounding area are undergoing major, major renovations and the landscape there is changing/has changed drastically. For example, the entire front entrance to the resort (which used to be trees) has been bulldozed to accommodate future buildings and event spaces. Luckily there is no active construction on weekends so there was no noise during our ceremony or event, and the resort has done a good job of ensuring that the current event spaces are far away from the active construction. The resort seems to also be putting effort towards preserving some of the site’s general heritage. That being said, some of the views from the (very modern and comfortable) rooms into the gated-off construction zone weren’t ideal.
Overall: When we were planning our wedding, we wanted to have it in a place where all of our guests could stay in the same location, driving wasn’t needed/was minimal, there were different activities accessible and that could meet different interests and abilities, and that it was in a quiet(er), beautiful place. We have reflected many times since our wedding that the Homestead was the best place for this to have happened – all of our boxes were checked.

Great staff contributed to the wedding and reception running smoothly
At the beginning we had a few communication issues about the location for the wedding, due to some construction/renovations. However, once we got that worked out and on the day before and day of, the staff couldn't have been more fabulous. Tricia as our coordinator served as a day of wedding director and the staff during set up and during the reception were responsive, helpful and more that met our expectations. Thanks for helping make our daughter' s day fabulous. It was a pleasure working with you. -

As a wedding planner, I absolutely love working at The Homestead Resort in Utah. The facility is always impeccably maintained, and the ceremony location is simply beautiful. Hosting a party on the patio and under the tent is a staple here, offering the perfect blend of outdoor flexibility with stunning views. The newly renovated rooms and houses are amazing, providing ample space for all your guests without any hassle. It truly feels like having your wedding in a high-class neighborhood. The Homestead Resort consistently exceeds expectations, making every event memorable and special. -

Amazing venue
I am a wedding planner and I can honestly say that the Homestead Events team is incredible. Leading up to the wedding, they are so responsive and helpful. On the day-of, I felt like I never had to worry if something was being done, and someone always seemed to be right there whenever I had a questions or needed help. I had the pleasure of working very closely with Leah, the events coordinator, and she was absolutely amazing! The whole wedding day went very smoothly, the food is incredible, and the setting is stunning. I would recommend the Homestead to any couple looking for a fun and unique venue. You will not be disappointed! -

As I reflect on our wedding day at The Homestead, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible experience we had. I might be biased as the groom, but I can't help but share my thoughts on this remarkable venue.
First and foremost, the location and property of The Homestead are perfect. The fact that it's only a short one-hour drive from Salt Lake International Airport made it incredibly accessible for our guests, many of whom were traveling from afar. The moment we arrived, it was clear that the property was not just a venue; it was an entire self-sustaining environment. With amenities like golf, dining options, and even a geothermal hot spring encased in a limestone dome, The Homestead provided an abundance of possibilities for our guests to enjoy leading up to the big day. The setting was idyllic, making it an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Leah, our event coordinator at The Homestead, was an absolute dream come true. As I'm sure most married men can attest, we often find ourselves with limited involvement in the wedding planning process. However, Leah was exceptional in ensuring that both my wife and I were included every step of the way (and she even managed to make me feel important in the process, which is quite the accomplishment!). Her dedication and hard work were evident, and it all paid off magnificently on the day of our wedding. The ceremony and reception areas were impeccable, and Leah always had a Plan B, C, D, and more ready to go, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and flawlessly.
Looking at the property itself, it's a true testament to beauty and elegance. The lush green lawns, vibrant flower beds, and recently renovated rooms provided an exquisite backdrop for our special day. The rooms were not only comfortable but also exuded a sense of luxury that made our stay truly exceptional.
And oh, the food! The chefs at The Homestead truly outdid themselves. We received a flood of compliments about the delectable dishes served at our wedding. Even the self-proclaimed "foodies" on our guest list couldn't help but rave about their dinners. The attention to detail and the quality of the food left a lasting impression on all our guests.
If I were to do it all over again, I couldn't imagine choosing any other venue than The Homestead. It provided the perfect blend of convenience, natural beauty, and exceptional service that made our wedding day an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. From the accessible location to Leah's outstanding coordination, the picturesque property, and the mouthwatering cuisine, The Homestead delivered on all fronts. It truly was the wedding of our dreams, and we are forever grateful for the memories created in this remarkable place. -

I can not recommend the homestead enough. The venue is GORGEOUS and the remodels are outstanding. We made our wedding a weekend event for our guests by hosting a golf scramble, rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and the wedding all on site. Having all the guests on the property created the most fun atmosphere and gave us more time with all our friends and family. There are multiple places to eat on site which was great for our of state guests without cars and the crater is such a fun destination.
Additionally the food was incredible and we got so many compliments from guests on the quality of the dinner (both at the wedding and rehearsal dinner). Leah was outstanding and worked so well with our vendors, wedding coordinator, and me to create the most perfect day. She was incredibly responsive and flexible with all my requests, always doing her best to make accommodations and help with all the little details. On top of it all, for all that you get with the venue it is extremely well priced. The homestead truly was my dream wedding venue and I am so happy we chose them ♥️ -

We recently had our wedding at the Homestead and it was such a pleasant experience! The team was incredibly helpful, flexible, and really allowed us the space to bring our vision to life! After viewing many other venues that had preferred vendors, much higher minimums, lower quality food service, etc. we were so, so happy when we found the Homestead. It was amazing to have all of our guests staying on-site and everyone seemed to really enjoy their stay. Big “thank you” to Tricia, Jamie, Anna, Leah, and the rest of the Homestead staff that made our day so much fun ❤️ -

My husband and I are thrilled with the wedding We celebrated last weekend at the Homestead resort in Midway. We had a 200 guest event. Over 80 of the guests stayed on location. The weather in June was absolutely perfect in midway. The tent can seat roughly 120 people comfortably and the rest of our guests were happily seated just outside of the tent space. Our event coordinator Trisha was beyond amazing. She made sure our special day ran smoothly. The food was great and the wait staff were efficient and helpful. Trisha made sure to check in throughout the evening to make sure we were happy and to see if we needed anything. She knew when to drive when we were unsure, and when our team could take charge and complete the my intended vision. We moved the event inside at about 10 o’clock so that we could dance well into the night. We also used a Homestead to host a Brunch the next morning, which was also phenomenal. Many of our guests stayed for both Friday night and Saturday night and they enjoyed hanging out by the fire pit with other guests and enjoying the many fun activities Midway has to offer. We truly had the wedding of our dreams and it was thanks to our fantastic team of florists, wedding planners, hair / makeup and the helpful people that work at the Homestead resort. The wedding cost due to the Homestead Resort was about 38,000K not including floral, dj or photographer.Homestead Midway Utah's reply:

I was engaged for over a year and a half before my big day. I started venue searching within the first few months. I came across The Homestead after countless hours of searching for venues in the mountains and it seemed too good to be true. I toured the venue and quickly fell in love with the rustic and elegant atmosphere. I was a little nervous to book a venue so far in advance in case I fell through the cracks. However, Alexis (and then Brooke) never let me feel like that. She was in constant communication with me for anything I needed. She was very accommodating to any visit I needed to make up there for setting up vendors, dinner tasting, etc. Brooke was incredible on the day of and did an amazing job at helping make our wedding day so special. My new husband quickly decided he also loved her the moment she brought me snacks during bridal pictures. This dream venue and its team helped give me the dream wedding. If you are looking for a relaxed planning experience and love the gorgeous outdoor views of Midway, then this is the perfect venue! -

Couldn’t have imagined how perfect this venue would be
Alexis and Brooke 100% made planning our destination wedding FUN, and 0% stressful. They are the experts so we let them guide us through the planning process, used several of their preferred vendors (who were also great) and they kept us on schedule and flowing beautifully the day of, we simply couldn’t have asked for more. They accommodated every last detail, no matter how last minute. We’re still getting compliments on our wedding ceremony, the beautiful landscape, and especially about Dan, the bartender. He’s amazing as well. Though the resort shows it’s age and could use a little updating, the wedding space is exactly why we chose to have our wedding here. The Homestead’s charm creates a very special energy, and the landscaping was stunning. Not to mention paddle board yoga in the crater the night before our wedding!!! Did not disappoint and was a great value, worth every cent. Can’t say enough about these girls! -

The Best Wedding Venue!
Homestead Resort was our first choice for our wedding and we feel like we could not have made a better decision. First off, we showed up unannounced over a year in advance of the grand event to see the wedding. Alexis, the coordinator, took time to show us around and talk to us despite a wedding occurring that day. We loved what we saw and committed immediately for June 21st, 2019, Summer Solstice.
All thru the process, Alexis and her team were amazing. From booking rooms, to booking time in the crater. Suggestions as to whom to book for the various tasks helped immensely. When it came to the few days leading up to the event, they were there every time we had a question. When we arrived a few days prior, our every concern was addressed. Alexis also had Brooke, who will be taking over the coordinator position, working with her. Between the two of them, every part of our event went on schedule and was perfect.
When it came to the big day, both ladies were there with their staff working hard to make sure that every item was perfect. The food from their catering staff was amazing. I have never had such good food at any wedding I have ever attended in the past. Then as the time ticked down to the start of the event, the ladies helped to make sure that we were perfectly timed, and every aspect went perfectly, while also remaining in the background so that the event was about us. I cannot express how important that detail is. I have seen coordinators at weddings before where it seemed that they were in the middle of things constantly.
Finally, the cost at Homestead Resort felt very reasonable to us. We feel like we got our money's worth for sure. There is no place like Homestead on earth. With the mountains, the crater, the flowers and trees, it is truly a piece of paradise. Give them a look. You will not be disappointed!

Carla Sent on 10/12/2018The Homestead Resort is an absolutely beautiful place for a country/mountain wedding. My daughter was married the end of September (25 years after my husband and I were married there)! The fall colors were in full display and the mountains were the perfect backdrop. The grounds were well kept and the the flowers were still in bloom. The ceremony took place on the lawn in front of the gazebo and the reception was held both inside the garden room and outside under the tent. Outdoor heaters were available but fortunately not needed! And the food... guests commented all evening about how delicious the buffet was!
The staff was very accommodating and great to work with. Alexis (my daughters wedding planner) was very professional and always willing to advise, recommend, and answer all of our questions during the planning process. On the day of the wedding she was there from the moment we arrived until the 'send off' at the end of the reception. Her expertise in coordinating with the bar, DJ, and photographer made everything run smoothly throughout the entire day. She has a HARD job but loves what she does and always has a smile on her face!
The day was everything I had hoped it would be for my daughter. I would recommend The Homestead, hands down, to any bride looking for a country-type venue with an amazing staff!

Megan Sent on 10/08/2018My parents were married at the Homestead 25 years ago and I felt honored to carry on that tradition. While my family was setting up for the ceremony and reception, I sent my husband and his groomsmen off to play a round of golf before the ceremony (Which probably helped relieve some stress!). The golf course was gorgeous and he would not stop talking about how much fun it was.
Alexis, who was our wedding coordinator, basically did everything! We met several times throughout the planning process to go over our wedding expectations, food tastings, MANY MANY tours around the venue and so much more.
She was VERY quick to respond to our thousands of emails and always had an answer for everything we asked.
Alexis was so remarkable to work with and I would recommend anyone and everyone to get married at The Homestead Resort. I promise you will not regret it.
Highlights from the wedding:
-Chairs, tables and linens were set up by the wonderful staff
-The grounds were well kept and they still had flowers up for September/Early October Weddings
-The food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Alexis made sure that we were able to eat during the wedding reception
-The staff was so friendly and truly wanted to help make our day special
-We were allowed to rent a golf cart for our grand exit!
-Staff was quick to move items inside once the rain started
-After we were married we enjoyed a complimentary stay in the honeymoon suit

From the day we booked to the crazy day of- I felt so at ease. You can truly tell that she works so hard and really takes pride in her work. The food was also so amazing! I cannot say enough how perfect of a day I had, I would highly recommend.

Starting with Alexis who was amazing and I can’t thank enough, to the front desk, to the wait staff, maintenance and housekeeping, and a special shout out to Danny and Tommy, our bartenders whom everyone loved! The chef, Sean, and his staff are so talented, the food was delicious! If parts of the resort are a little tired, it only adds to its charm! We had a three day event and our guests loved everything about the wedding and resort! Everything exceeded my expectations!

As a couple from California, we had only been to the Homestead once, for a soak in the crater, and later found ourselves wondering why we weren't planning our event there. Jamie was a god send from DAY ONE, and consistently put us at ease that we would have an amazing event, even though we had never walked the venue with the event in mind until the day before! Jamie's professionalism and commitment to executing our event exactly as we envisioned was monumental, and the resort is lucky to have someone so dedicated to their craft AND to her level of customer service.
Beyond Jamie (and Alexis) being amazing, The Homestead Resort provided the perfect backdrop for our special day, provided amazing accommodations for a large portion of our guests, and every staff member we came in contact with was truly a joy and seemed as if they really loved their job and were also committed to a high quality of excellence! We cannot thank Jamie, Alexis, and every member of the staff at The Homestead Resort enough.

User1541197 Sent on 02/22/2014Jamie was superior in communication and organizing our wedding on Valentine's Day. The Homestead Resort is ideal for a wedding. It is romantic with gorgeous mountain views, water and lawn.
We planned our wedding from Texas and Jamie was responsive to all of our wedding planning.
We highly recommend Jamie and the Homestead Resort for your wedding.

This was our first time getting married so we weren’t sure what to expect. Leah did an amazing job from start to finish catering to all of our needs and working with us for some very specific requests, such as putting together an ice cream bar for us rather than a cake. We appreciate her patience and flexibility. The food was delightful - thank you to both the head chefs for all of your hard work! Jose was incredibly accommodating as we had a pickleball tournament Saturday morning. He got everything organized for us and stuck around to ensure everything was going smoothly, thank you homestead, you will not regret booking your wedding here! -

Kaitlyn Sent on 11/10/2014The reason I gave them a 3.5 for professionalism is because the crater should have been blocked off but some people still managed to get up the steps to the crater toward the end of the ceremony. There were only a few people and they gave their congratulations but I was still irritated that there wasn't anyone or anything to keep them out. It kind of made me feel like our wedding wasn't a priority over other goings on. I understand that it is a resort and we weren't the only ones there but I would have liked to our privacy.
Overall, our experience at the Homestead was great. We got a lot for what we paid for including a honeymoon suite, up to 150 guests (no charge for each chair), a room for the bridal party to get ready, some great food, and a great place for the ceremony and the reception. We had our ceremony on the crater, which was beautiful and had a great view of the mountains. Jamie, the event coordinator, definitely knew what she was doing and some of her suggestions really helped our decision making. -

We are local to midway and have loved the Homestead for so many years. When we initially booked this venue for our wedding there were a few renovations that were planned. Knowing this was happening we still booked our wedding venue with them, trusting that things would work out. There were a lot of delays, as there normally are with construction... but it all came together!
Leah who is the event coordinator at the homestead went above and beyond to work with us and give us everything we asked for, she is awesome. The staff was great and professional and we really enjoyed our time there. -
