The Whole Package

Holmes Catering was a pleasure to work with leading up to our wedding and on the big day. While choosing a caterer, we were able to go to one of Holme's group tastings and were happy that the food at our wedding was high quality like it was at the tasting. The food options were vast, and the quality truly was awesome and not like 'typical' catering that tends to include overcooked meat, and bland sides.

During the planning process, Holmes Catering made it easy to see how much we would spend on food, which helped with our budgeting process. It was also very convenient that we were able to directly rent our linens from them as they took care of bringing them, setting them up, and cleaning them. On the day of, their staff was on top of it despite issues we had with our venue/lack of communication from the venue to the caterers. The staff members were attentive, professional, and kind. My husband and I were served at our table while guests went through the line, and they made sure to provide a to go box for us to take at the end of the day.

Loved the food!

Fantastic Food and Service

We used this company with Lion's Gate Manor as our venue. They were quick to respond and very easy to work with. You meet with them in the beginning to choose linens, place settings, etc. We rented centerpieces and linens with them and it was such a great decision. Anything you rent through them, they setup and also take down. It made cleanup at the end of the night so much easier! You talk with them again a few weeks prior to the wedding to confirm menu and other selections. The food is absolutely fantastic and we received many compliments.

Fantastic food and service

We met with Sarah initially, and she was so helpful in working with our budget and vision to create a wedding menu that was perfect for us! Throughout wedding planning, Sarah was very easy to get in touch with, and we were able to make changes to our menu after attending the tasting. The company was so professional and wonderful making everything happen on our wedding day! And wow, the chicken in Jack Daniels cream sauce was an absolute HIT with us and our guests!

Delicious food

All our guests were raving about the delicious food. We are still hearing comments about how great it was, even from our most “hard to please” friends. We had creamy chicken with spinach and tomatoes, mashed potato bar, salad, and green beans. The serving staff was professional and quick to help any of our guests. The serving table was beautifully designed and Holmes made sure it fit well with the theme I had planned. Overall, it was fantastic. I would highly recommend Holmes Catering for any event, big or small.

Highly Recommend!

The food was absolutely delicious, great presentation and the staff was awesome! They were so easy to work with and everyone loved the food. They were very organized and helped to make our day run very smoothly. Great selection and we felt like it was very reasonable for the quality of food for the price. Would definitely recommend!

Holmes Catering is simply the best, no question. The staff has the upmost respect for their clients. They are dedicated to making sure that your wedding day is exactly what you dream of. Phenomenal Team

Holmes made our wedding perfect! From decor to food and drinks, they did it all. Our guests were so pleased with the selection of food and the professionalism of the staff. Everyone loved the Mac & Cheese Bar!! We would absolutely use Holmes again in the future. Not only was the food delicious, everyone there was so easy to work with and they all took great care of us!

Wonderful Customer Service

This company was so easy to work with. They made changes up until a month before the wedding and worked within our budget. They gave us exactly what we wanted and more. My only regret is that I did not try the broccoli cheddar soup!

Wonderful and easy experience!

I loved how flexible the menu was and how budget-conscious they were. You could easily mix and match menus, which allowed us to create the perfect menu for our night! The team was great to work with, and made the experience very enjoyable.

Delicious Food & Amazing Service!

We had wedding guests travel to SC from all over the country and everyone raved about our food. Holmes has so many different options and they work with you to make sure your menu is exactly what you want. We had 3 different food stations at our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. Our Wedding and reception was yesterday 12-30-17 Lions Gate Manor n Spartanburg! Holme Catering did a superb job! Holmes Catering is the BEST catering service in the country! The food at my wedding reception in July was delicious, and the presentation was absolutely beautiful! The flowers and other decorations Holmes Catering provided for reception room was exquistely displayed! HOLMES CATERING IS “THE ABSOLUTE BEST” CATERER YOU COULD CHOOSE! Hands down, Tim Holmes provides the best food, the best presentation, the best service possible, all at reasonable prices. Tim, as well as everyone on his staff, are a joy to work with! We are so glad we chose Holmes Catering to do our daughter’s reception & have absolutely no regrets, only tons of compliments from our guests who could not say enough about their work! The guest favorites were the beef tenderloin, shrimp and grits, sausage skewers and Mediterranean style antipasti salad. The lavish silver décor was elegant & decadent!
Holmes catering takes pride in doing things with excellence and integrity & were such a blessing to our family at every turn! Tim was instrumental in navigating us through the wedding process & his expertise was invaluable in making the right food choices, the best ideas for décor for our particular venue, & the right decisions regarding what type & number of rentals we needed. Their warehouse is filled with options for décor styles of every kind to choose from. It was WONDERFUL to be able to have one vendor for both the food service & the rentals & not have to try to coordinate one more vendor into such a busy time. Tim went above & beyond expectations to make our daughter’s special day be all it could be! We NEVER worried about them not upholding their end & in fact Tim personally stepped up to help in a big way, without a word of complaint when another vendor had to leave un-expectantly at a critical time in our reception. The guests never knew there was an issue nor did he disrupt our celebration with it, he just took care of it. They are professional, knowledgeable, & patient as well as a calming presence in an industry filled with many variables & much stress. They always respond to emails/calls in a timely manner & simply could not have done a better job for us! They have an OUTSTANDING REPUTATION in the catering industry and now I know it is WELL DESERVED!

The entire wedding process with Holmes Catering was fantastic! Communication was always open and emails were always answered promptly. The staff was nice and willing to help you get exactly what you wanted for your big day! You are able to go to tastings to help you better pick the food out that you'd want for your event. The food is AMAZING! Everything tasted great and I got SO many compliments on the food. Seriously everyone told me that the food was fantastic! The entire serving staff was very sweet and worked very hard to provide good service to all of our guests. The presentation of the food was beautiful as well. If you want food that tastes amazing and at a reasonable price - Holmes Catering is your go to!

Tim Holmes did an amazing job with our menu for our reception. When we met with him, he was willing to listen to our ideas and he also offered us unique, delicious options. Every wedding guest who I have talked to since has mentioned how amazing and delicious the food looked and tasted! Especially our cinnamon roll icing fountain, which even our wedding planner said she had never seen before. I would recommend Holmes Catering for any event you need!

Tim and his staff were superb! They met all of our needs and more. They were so easy to work with. I would definitely recommend Tim Holmes Catering and the use of Lion's Gate Manor (our Venue) to any Bride and her family. Lion's Gate Manor is gorgeous! So many of our guest commented on the beauty of the Venue.
After the wedding my daughter commented that this was the most amazing night of her life! I totally agree. Tim and your staff, thank you for making this happen for my daughter!! It was a totally magical evening.

Food was our top priority for our wedding. We couldn't have been more thrilled with our choice. The planning process with Sarah was a breeze and she was beyond helpful in answering every little question I had throughout the year of planning. The food was exceptional (we are still getting compliments from guests!). But what really stood out to us was the service that was provided at our wedding. Our team of servers was unbelievably amazing. They went out of their way to make sure it was the best day ever, right down to boxing up some leftovers to send home with us. We couldn't recommend Holmes any more highly!

The very first thing my husband and I knew before we had made any other decisions about our wedding was that we wanted Tim Holmes Catering. He has the best reputation and food in the Upstate. We did a dinner buffet that included a salad, green beans, parmesan crusted chicken, peppercorn beef tenderloin, rolls, a mashed potato bar, buffalo chicken dip and spinach dip. The food was so amazing! The presentation of the food was perfect. They can make anything look beautiful! They made a special area for my husband, our parents and I to eat our dinner and not be interrupted. They catered to our every need making sure we were taken care of. Not only was the food and everything that was displayed perfect, the staff went above and beyond. They were all so professional and kind. They did all of the decorating and all of the clean up. My family and I did not have to worry about a single thing. They did anything we would ask of them. I'm so thankful for them and everything they did for us. If you are unsure whether or not they are for you, I can promise that they have so many different options and everything is so tasty! Check them out you'll thank yourself later!

Can't say enough good things about Tim Holmes Catering. Easy to work with and the food was incredible. Beef tenderloin was a hit. We didn't have to worry about decorating the food tables because they had decorations to match the decor including copper serving dishes! We also had awesome ice cream bar for a July wedding. Warehouses full of decor. Beautiful mirrored table for wedding cake, gigantic framed menu board and more. Loved it all.

Tim catered our daughter Jessie and her husband Westons wedding in March. We were his first wedding at Lions Gate. Everything was absolutely perfect! We were a bit concerned because there was lots of construction going on but everything came out just beautiful! The food was just delicious. Jess had spent a month in Florence and wanted a bit of that old world touch! It was just fantastic! We would definitely recommend not only Tims catering but Lions Gate is just a perfect spot for any party! Tim, God bless you for putting up with us!!! We were truly blessed to be the beginning of Lions Gate!!!

We looked at multiple upstate caterers and chose Tim Holmes Catering because they beat everyone else on flexibility, cost, venue knowledge, and customer service. Our wedding was for 215 people and dozens came up to us afterwards praising the food (tenderloin was a favorite) and the service. We had two buffets and a couple stations. Each option was decorated in a style that matched our wedding theme and the venue. Maybe one of the biggest things that set THC from the rest is their vast WAREHOUSES full of decor. We didn't even need a separate rental company because we used all of their decorations for centerpieces, tablecloths, gift table, etc. It was also much easier to stick with one vendor for tablecloths, food, decor, etc instead of having to juggle multiple other vendors. We chose Tim Holmes Catering because the food tasted great and the price was right but what we got in return was a very knowledgeable staff, unparalleled resources, and more than we could have ever dreamed of.

Would highly recommend Holmes Catering for your wedding food! We had a wonderful experience planning our menu and the logistics with Sarah. She knows a lot about weddings and a lot about many venues in the Upstate which made it easy to ask questions. We booked a few appetizers for cocktail hour, a buffet for dinner, and had the team pick up and pass out Chick Fil A sandwiches as a late night snack. Wow! Service was wonderful. One woman in particular was extremely attentive to my husband and I--providing a few snacks after photos, having the salads pre-made ready at our sweetheart table, making us full plates so we didn't have to go through the line and could keep talking to guests, and cleaning up quickly. Our guests complimented the food countless times...it's of course all delicious! Be sure to check out their decor rentals. All the food tables were gorgeous and our place settings were perfect. 5 stars!

I got married on May 23, 2015 and I am over the moon about Holmes Catering! We had the Brazilian buffet and it was incredible (I would highly recommend it)! People are still raving about how awesome our food was! Tim and Sarah were both at our wedding and they went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I, and both of our parents had everything we needed food wise. The guest/server ratio was perfect and the staff was extremely professional and so kind.

Tim Holmes Caterering was awesome. Sarah Kolb was wonderful to work with from our initial contact with her to the day before the wedding when we were still making requests. She was getting emails from both of us as we thought of questions and was always accomodating. My mother has Celiacs disease and her diet is very restrictive. They made sure she had dinner as well. The table settings and decor they provided were beautiful. The food was delicious. I was asking my daughter what flavor of cupcakes she and her husband tried and she said she didn't know if he tried any because he couldn't stop eating the pasta!!! The staff at our wedding could not have been better.

Tim Holmes Catering is the best Catering business in the Upstate. You cant go wrong with choosing him as your caterer. The food is amazing and the way his group presents the meal with his decor is beautiful. I would for sure recommend this vendor to anyone looking for the best of the best!

The food was GREAT!!! Sarah and the rest of the staff were so easy to work with and made everything worry free! I have had so many guests let us know how great the food was! We did not want to leave our plates when it was time to enter the reception.

Food is absolutely delicious! Tim constantly went out of his way to make items special and cator to my food allergies (I am allergic to dairy and gluten). His team made sure that I had a specific plate on my wedding day and made plenty for me to have left overs. Tim went above and beyond with our wedding menu, adding special items and trying new things. More than just a few of our guests made sure to tell us how much they enjoyed the meal. Not only is his food delicious but his presentation and delivery are so special. This is not your typical white linens with silver food trays for a buffet. Tim made sure to get to know our personal style and let us choose decorations from his warehouse. In the end, his set up was breathtaking and absolutely helped bring my dream wedding to life. He takes this business very seriously and wanted the absolute best for our wedding. That is exactly what we got!

Tim Holmes is the best in the upstate for quality and value. His staff is warm and accommodating and they make the wedding day look easy. As a wedding professional myself, it is tough to pick your favorite, but we certainly make the right call with this one. The food was amazing, the presentation was beautiful, and the value for what we paid is unheard of. We are so thankful for the extra mile taken by Tim, Sarah, and the gang. They made everything just perfect.

Tim Holmes Catering did an outstanding job for us. They are so creative and professional. They offer a wide variety of decor, the staff was so helpful and personable and the food was delicious! Tim met with us personally and made us feel completely at ease about the whole process. One example of their personal touch was after our outdoor ceremony the wedding party stepped inside to regroup for pictures and the Tim Holmes staff met us at the door with ice cold water. They just went above and beyond in every area. Thank you Tim and staff for making our reception something our friends and family are still raving about!

We couldn't have been more pleased with Tim Holmes Catering this past weekend for our daughter's wedding. The food was delicious and many guests commented on it. My husband was so impressed that he asked for Tim's business cards to put in his office for clients to take. Tim was so helpful with suggestions that would help us stay in our budget. He had shelves and shelves of serving pieces and serving table decor for us to choose from-from rustic to elegant. He always responded quickly to emails and phone calls, and I never felt like he was rushing us. I would highly recumbent him to anyone planning a wedding or event.

We could not have been happier with Tim Holmes Catering! They were recommended by a couple venues we visited and they were definitely the most flexible and most helpful out of all the caterers we talked to. We first met with Sarah to get more information, and she was so nice to work with and answered so many questions we had. We gave her a price range we were trying stay within and also some ideas of what we wanted to serve, and she and her team made it happen. They also had wonderful china and decor items to choose from, many of which were at no extra cost. Best of all, I had several wedding guests tell me it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. Can't ask for much more than that! So very glad they were a part of our special day.

Tim Holes Catering was a hit at our wedding reception. Everyone raved about how great the food was. I chose them because of the way they present their food. They don't use boring old tin-foil serving pans. They use high-quality decorative pieces hat add character to your wedding and how the food is served, and i'm all about the details!

Our experience with Tim Holmes Catering for our daughter's wedding reception was above and beyond our expectations. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff were extremely helpful, professional and accommodating to all of our needs. They even prepared a separate plate for our son who has food allergies. We did not have to worry about a thing--we simply enjoyed the reception, and so did our guests! We heard many compliments about the food. We felt that they did an excellent job in every way.

Tim Holmes Catering has catered lunches for our day-to-day office meetings for the last 2.5 years. The food is awesome and their flexibility with menus keeps us from getting bored. They are very responsive to last minute requests. Holmes has also catered our yearly BBQs on the lawn, and our Christmas parties. We have never been so happy with a caterer! Tim Holmes Catering was wonderful to work with! They had great advice on how to choose the food & decor, they had a lot of decorations available to rent (much more conventient to do this with them instead of trying to coordinate another vendor), and their prices were so reasonable (and included dishware!). Often times with wedding vendors, you feel like you are being nickel & dimed to death because they know for a wedding you are going to splurge, but Holmes Catering was so fair with their pricing, very transparent, and a joy to work with. I was also very pleased with their responsiveness whenever I had a question or concern. They have done tons of weddings and accumulated many decoration/linen rentals, so they are true professionals and will make your day run smoothly.

And you do not sacrifice on quality at all! I got so many compliments after the wedding on how great the food was. I only wish I had been less distracted mingling with guests so I could have eaten more of it! You will NOT be disappointed working with this caterer!

Holmes catering was wonderful. Everyone complimented us on the food. Not only was the food delicious but the way everything was displayed was beautiful and very appealing to the eye. They were so easy to get in touch with and made sure everything was to our liking. The food was amazing! I hired Tim Holmes Catering for our May 2013 wedding. Tim came highly recommended from other vendors, which played a big part in our decision. His prices are very affordable, and the quality of the food was excellent. Tim's presentation of the buffet was also beautiful and added so much class to our wedding reception. So many of our guests commented to me on how delicious all the food was.
And of course, in all our meetings and communications with them leading up to our wedding day, Tim was super professional and kind (even when I was late to a meeting... oops!!!). I would not hesitate to recommend Tim Holmes Catering to anyone looking for an affordable and delicious caterer with a great eye for presentation and detail.

After our daughter's wedding last weekend, we are now officially HUGE Tim Holmes Catering fans! Our experience could not have been more perfect. Sarah met with us several times to make sure we had exactly what we wanted, and she was always available to answer any questions. The wedding was at 11:30 so we wanted to have a true meal for our guests at the reception as it was right at lunch time. The food was out of this world, and I was never once concerned that there would not be enough. We had around 300 guests, but there never seemed to be a long line for the buffet; Tim and Sarah and their staff did a beautiful job of keeping the buffet tables always filled. We heard over and over how delicious the food was from everyone who was there. And the way they decorated the buffet tables was absolutely perfect for our venue - the reception was in an indoor barn, and Tim and Sarah chose such wonderful pieces to set the table with. Tim found two old painted bicycles that served as the centerpieces on the buffets, and they were a huge hit! I can't say enough how pleasant they are to work with, and their pricing is so reasonable. After the bride and groom left, the Holmes staff even helped us carry gifts to the car as they were packing up their own truck. I am so grateful to Tim and his staff for helping to make our little girl's dreams come true on her wedding day! If there were a 10 star rating, I would give Holmes Catering all 10s!

The food was great. I really appreciated the fact that the food was fresh and seasoned well. I sampled many caterers in the area and Tim Holmes Catering food and service was far superior. The staff went above and beyond to customize a menu to meet your budget. They even included the cake stand and cake cutting service.

Tim Holmes did a great job at our wedding. Sarah was so helpful throughout the planning process and everything was executed in a very organized manner during our reception. The food displays were absolutely beautiful - I've never seen a catering company make a salad bar look so pretty. We told Sarah what our florist was doing with our centerpieces and table decor and she used serving items that coordinated perfectly. The food was delicious and their prices are better than anyone else in town.

Tim Holmes Catering provided all of the food at my daughter's wedding. The food was absolutely delicious. We had so many guests comment about how good the food was. There was plenty of it, and the attendants were always watching to see what was getting low so that they could put more out. The food stations were beautifully decorated. Tim has so many unique serving pieces that you get to choose from. He has dishes that you get to use instead of using plastic plates. His linens are also wonderful. We booked Tim over a year ago for Jill's wedding, and he and his staff were always very responsive to our needs. His staff was also very professional and courteous as they served at the reception. He offers tasting events that help you make up your mind about what food you want to serve. Lastly, you cannot beat his price for the quality of the food you get!

The presentation was absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious! So many of the guests commented saying the same thing! The service was great! God was glorified!

I don't even know where to begin about how thrilled we were with Tim Holmes Catering! We had a wedding reception of around 400 people and Tim and his staff, went above and beyond to see that our guests were treated to a great experience. I'm still having people tell me how delicious the food was! There was plenty of it, it tasted DELICIOUS and the display was beautiful, warm and filled with extra touches that paid such attention to special details.
It was really important to us that our guests had easy accessibility to the food and that they weren't in long lines or on top of each other. Tim and his staff put much effort into helping us plan the layout and the flow was fantastic! We had some extra things that were a little out of the ordinary:a S'mores Bar, Hot Apple Cider and Hot Chocolate stations with toppings and a movie lounge with popcorn, m&m's and glass bottle cokes. Tim & Sarah made all of these extras unique to our reception!
Besides how yummy everything tasted, comments from our guests included how they hardly had to wait in any lines, the food was always hot and not picked over looking, the staff kept the tables cleaned off and fresh and the most frequent question was, "Who catered this?!" The Buffalo Chicken Dip, Mashed Potato Bar and Beef Tenderloin were the most loved by our guests!
An added bonus in going w/Holmes is that he has lots of beautiful linens to rent for guest tables (he includes linens in the price for all food tables), all plates, cutlery and drink ware are included in the price and he has a wonderful variety of center pieces and items like wine barrels and hi-top tables that he rents for a VERY reasonable price!
Obviously, we were thrilled with Holmes Catering! His prices are beyond reasonable, the service and personal attention are top-notch and the food is delicious! We couldn't asked for more! Thank you Tim, Sarah and all of your wonderful staff!

My husband and I loved working with Tim and Sarah. They were professional, fair in price and responsive. Tim also has lots of great decor to use at the reception venue. At the time of hire, Tim had never done family-style for a wedding, but was enthusiastic and on-board to try it for us. Not only was the service outstanding, but we received many compliments on the delicious food and cool family-style. We brought containers to fill with leftovers and the staff made sure every container was filled to the brim with food. We even got a to-go box for our wedding night (late night snack!). I would highly recommend Tim Holmes Catering!

Holmes catering was not only delicious and filling but it was beautifully displayed and the wait staff was wonderful! And most importantly, it was delicious!! Absolutely delicious! We had numerous guests comment on how great the food was!

TIm Holmes catering was fabulous. Their creativity and ease in helping us put together a menu and presentation that fulfilled our vision thoroughly exceed our expectations. Plus - the food was DELICIOUS and their was plenty of it! We thoughts so and so did our guests. I will certainly choose TIm Holmes catering again for any catering needs.
