As someone who works in the wedding industry (I'm a photographer), I've admired many florists' work over the years. Holly was on my short list based on work of hers I'd seen, and after speaking with her and a few other florists by phone/Zoom, my planner and I were blown away by Holly's professionalism—head and shoulders over anyone else we talked to.
We had a general vision and mood, but from there, let Holly and her team have control on overall flower choices and other elements, and she used her expertise and flexibility to KNOCK OUR FLOWERS OUT OF THE PARK, without relying on a plethora of expensive stems, but instead what was seasonal and/or available from her own flower farm(!) Late in the process, we weighed a few additions and changes to things like ribbon color, and Holly handled it with grace and ease. She was also so accommodating of me wanting a trial floral crown for my hair trial a month before the wedding, and even arranged for me to send the wire crown from the trial back to her for use on my wedding day.
On our wedding day, not only were the floral arrangements and my personal bouquet and flower crown BREATHTAKING, but Holly and her team were SO professional, and worked beautifully, efficiently, and confidently in our somewhat-restrictive, challenging historic venue.
We heard from our guests over and over again about how spectacular the flowers were. Holly blew us, our planner, and our guests away. People are STILL talking about the flowers, over a month after our wedding. -

We hired Holly to do the florals for our wedding on 4/6/19 at the NMWA and she exceeded every expectation! My bouquet was incredible -- it was large, full, and so incredibly fragrant. The table arrangements were perfect, as were the other personal flowers.
Holly was wonderful to work with. She is not only professional and knowledgeable, she's also really fun and outgoing, too. We ended up having a bit more flexibility in our flower budget than we initially thought, but Holly was really great at working with us on a budget. She was more than willing to come up with creative solutions so we got a good value and we never felt pressured. She was very honest with us about where we could scale back and where it was worth it to spend a bit more.
Our experience with her was seamless and I'd recommend her to anyone getting married in the DC area. -

Holly is incredible and we could not have entrusted a better person for our wedding florals. Truth be told, I'm biased because I've worked with her before–but she got my vision and style dead on and was there to deliver my flowers and I will never forget that moment! Even though I did not go for the full Holly treatment (I didn't have floral centerpieces) - I still felt like Holly put her heart into my flowers. When people see pics of the day, they ALWAYS comment on my bouquet. I definitely recommend Holly. -

Tiffany Sent on 07/05/2012Holly turns flowers into works of art! Not to mention, she is the sweetest lady on the face of the planet. She was one of my favorite vendors to work with. She just has this magic air about her that just draws you in. I met with two florists before her and one after, but I knew right away she was the one for me. The florist I met after her didn't even have a fighting chance.
Our table arrangements were spectacular to say the least. They were all high, and they had beautiful yellow orchids inside the stems of the vases. They were lush and full, as are all of Holly's arrangements and bouquets. She is pricey, but it is totally worth EVERY penny. Especially because you get so many flowers! And she is very willing to work with you on costs. My bouquet was perfection, and she included every detail I asked for. My mother had saved baby's breath from my first flower arrangement when I was born, and we incorporated the dried baby's breath into my bouquet. I also had a hat pin from my grandmother's collection and my stem wrap was a lace bible cover that my other grandmother gave me at my baptism. My bouquet was full of meaning and Holly made it absolutely beautiful!
If flowers are a high priority for your wedding, go with Holly. She will make your wedding and the whole planning experience truly magical. -

How many girls actually burst into tears when they see their bouquet? Holly's brides do! I can't thank her enough for all the care and time that she put into making the day so beautiful. Not only was Holly flexible, friendly, and talented (she makes you immediately at ease and you want to be her best friend), but she made an EXTRA bouquet for me on the day of the wedding!! She had these gorgeous cabbage roses in her garden, and thought I might like them so she put them together for me. She wrapped my bouquet with lace from my mother's wedding dress, and a cameo brooch from my grandmother for my something borrowed.
I had soo many comments at the wedding on how stunning the flowers were; people could not stop talking about them! I highly recommend Holly and her superb team!! -

Tram Sent on 08/31/2010I just got married this past Saturday and cannot thank Holly enough for the amazing work that she did for my wedding. During the first consultation, I knew she was our lady! Holly is so talented that you will not be disappointed. She listens to what you like and your style, then makes the flowers on your wedding day "yours." On the night of the wedding, my husband and I laid in bed and he asked me, "What was your favorite part of the wedding?" Without hesitation, I replied, "The flowers." I cannot express how amazing Holly is and would recommend her to ANYONE! Trust me, you will love, love, love anything that she puts together. -

I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. My bridesmaids and groomsmen had fantastic flowers and they also did my large church decorations. People commented at the wedding how beautiful all of the flowers were. Thank you thank you!!

Kristine Sent on 08/19/2009I would highly recommend Holly Chapple! My flowers from Holly were absolutely beautiful! She was incredibly easy to work with and responsive. I know very little about flowers but Holly was able to figure out my style by showing me pictures of weddings she has done in the past and by the pictures I found in wedding magazines. She created the most stunning centerpieces and bouquets I have ever seen. I will never forget the flowers at my wedding (especially my carnation ball at the reception hall entrance) and I know my guests won't either! So many of my guests came up to me to tell me how gorgeous the flowers were. They were very excited when I told them they could take the centerpieces home!!! It was truly a pleasure to work with Holly!

Brid Sent on 06/10/2009Ten years ago, Holly created beautiful flowers for my brothers Fall wedding. I was so impressed that she turned chocolate roses into something beautiful, that I held on to her information for my wedding. When it came time to pick our florist, I didnt even consider anyone else. My mom wanted to, but, after getting suggestions from friends who recently got married and all used Holly, she agreed completely. We called and booked her that day, without meeting with her.
When my mom and I meet with Holly, I was a little sad. I had lost the battle with my mom and the groom over the color pink and green, my two favorite colors. Neither was allowed to be the featured color of the wedding. Holly made me excited about the color purple and even found complimentary green flowers to allow me a little bit of green. Holly has an extensive knowledge of flowers and pictures of them all which made it fun and easy to create the color scheme of the flowers. Her excitement for flowers is contagious. She even turned me on to carnations, which were my grandmothers favorite flowers and by adding them to my bouquet gave me something sentimental since neither is living.
Throughout the entire planning process Holly was great and patient. She worked within my budget and dealt with everything. We had numerous changes and delays due to my company moving me to PA weeks prior to the wedding to the best man/brother-in-law being deployed to Iraq two weeks before the wedding, to a last minute bridesmaid getting her leave chip revoked and finally in the middle of all my changes Holly had a sweet baby girl. There may have been delays in return calls or emails on both ends, but we were both dealing with life. Plus, Holly kept reassuring me everything would be perfect and she worked diligently to keep track of all the changes and even ran any change my mom requested by me too. She was better at keep it all together than me, which I turly appericated.
It was so nice to work with a person instead of a corporation. She completely understood all the changes and my worries. She was very professional, but, yet treated me like I was the most important bride. I never knew she had 4 other weddings that day utnil I checked her blog.
The flowers Holly created for the wedding was beyond expectation. As everyone expects weddings for the bride are an emotional, yet unreal day. I felt like it was all make believe, until I saw my bouquet. The flowers made it all real to me that all the months of planning had paid off and everything was more beautiful than I pictured. The flowers completed the picture and I cried for the first time that morning.
Even now, when I look at our wedding pictures, I notice how happy everyone is but then I notice the flowers. If you are lucky enough to book Holly, you will have breathtaking flowers from an amazing person.

When I initially met with Holly I was not certain of exactly what I wanted with respect to colors and type of arrangements. Holly made me feel very comfortable and allowed me to think through my options using her vision and ideas. She was consistently supportive and never blinked when I changed my mind a couple of times.
Hollys designs are truly one of a kind and her ability to go above and beyond your expectations is second to none this is just her way naturally! After finalizing my color scheme and talking with Holly about the types of flowers and the natural beauty of my wedding and reception site, I turned it over to her to create her magic. It was truly incredible! When she and her crew arrived on my wedding day we were all completely amazed at what she had accomplished. Her staff personally set up and looked over every detail of each arrangement to be certain it was perfectly ready to go!
To simply say that Holly is truly gifted is an understatement. Words cant describe the way that she can create and design she truly does allow her flowers to speak to her!
Everyone was raving about the exquisite beauty and the selections of flowers that she chose. I had wanted the flowers to be extra special and she most definitely created the WOW factor for our day! She designed both high and low arrangements for our dining tables as well as magnificent bouquets for myself and the attendants. Hollys designs are clearly unique, upscale and certainly not the ordinary that you often find with other florists. Holly is not a florist, but truly an artist!
My family and I agree that she really set the tone for our day and I know by all of her reviews that her service and attention to every little detail is one of the benchmarks that has led to her wonderful success!

I first saw her work when she did the flowers for an Engaged! magazine photo shoot that I was a part of. After that I knew I wanted her to do the flowers for my own August 2008 wedding! Holly was not only an amazing florist, but was also a huge support to me in the final weeks leading up to my wedding. She brought amazing energy to our meetings and was such a joy to work with. Holly and her team took all of my ideas and really helped to pull everything together and make it beautiful. Holly squeezed me into her schedule (right before her family vacation so I would have peace of mind!) and was truly collaborative in the design process. She took the photos I brought and figured out my style and proceeded to show me some of her ideas that fit what I wanted to a tee. I left her studio completely trusting that my flowers would be gorgeous and they totally blew away my expectations. She even put Queen Anne's lace in my bouquet in honor of my mother Anne! I am so lucky that I found Holly and I would (and have!) recommend her to anyone. -

Her suggestions were wonderful, not at all pushy, and educated us on how to choose flowers for both the best price and look. Our flowers and vases at the church, with the wedding party, and on the reception tables really had a positive affect on the atmosphere of the wedding. I interviewed many florists in Northern Virginia before my wedding, and was in vendor love the moment I met Holly. She has the ability to listen to what you have already selected for your wedding and create the most fantastic things you have ever seen, and keep you within your all important budget! Ann Sent on 04/08/2008I am not sure that there is enough space on this website to express my gratitude for the hard work and effort that Holly put into making my wedding a magical fairytale. I wanted a very simple, elegant look that was clean and beautiful but I had no idea on how to get there. Holly spent countless hours walking me through millions of pictures to acheive my dream wedding. She was patient and kind and showed a sense of love for her flowers that I had seen in no other florist I had met with. The result was a gorgeous cinderella fairytale of flowers. The bouquets were full and amazing, the church was tastefully done and the reception site took my breath away. I actually teared up when I walked through the door and saw the amazing centerpieces that she created. It was even more beautiful then I could have ever imagined. Holly even took the liberty of adding greenery to the head table at no charge because she thought it would be "amazing". The cake was such a piece of art when she added her touch to it - it truly resembled the look I wanted. She made everything flow together so perfectly and put so much time and effort into creating a lasting memory for us. The biggest upset of the wedding being over was that I didn't get to work with Holly anymore, but she called me after the wedding to be sure I liked everything she made. What a wonderful added touch that you simply just don't get anywhere else!! I wish I could get married all over again just to be able to walk through this process with her again. I highly reccomend her and I know you will to once you meet her. Thank you Holly for helping to create the most wonderful day of our lives! -

Courtney Sent on 04/02/2008I loved my flowers! They were so beautiful - everything I was hoping for and more. I had told Holly that I really wanted tulips for the wedding, but they're really hard to come by in October. Well, she found them! There were tulips in my bouquet, on the cake, and in the centerpieces. Everyone commented on the flowers - they even liked the boutonnieres!
Holly was also great to work with in the planning process. She is totally laidback - you meet her at her home in Leesburg - and she totally got my vision and ideas for the flowers and ran with them. She was willing to work with my budget, she was responsive to all my e-mails and calls, and was on time and had everything set up perfectly the day of even though she'd never been to our site before. I would highly recommend her! -

A true gem
Words can't even begin to express how amazing Holly and her team are. From the very first day I met Holly at her farm for a design meeting, I knew I made the right decision. Holly is one of the warmest and kindest people I've ever met, and that love and warmth truly comes out in her work. A true visionary, I knew I wanted to give Holly license to just create and dream up something extraordinary with little direction other than general flowers I like. Having my wedding be impacted by COVID and restrictions in place 2 months out, Holly offered for my husband and I to get married at her farm. At the time I declined, because I was so upset and still cautiously optimistic that we'd be able to press forward with our original plans. Little did I know, that wouldn't happen, so two weeks before our original wedding date (May 2020) I agreed and Holly welcomed us with open arms. To make the day more special, she surprised us with take home arrangements for the women in my family who were in attendance and setup a lovely tablescape. The generosity she showed continued to amaze me. Holly and her team hung in with us for another year, as we still were committed to having a larger celebration with even more family and friends, which we were able to do in June 2021. Yet again, Holly dreamed up perfection and I've now gained a friend and floral designer for life. You can't go wrong deciding to work with Holly. -

The greatest florist there ever was!
I have been a part of so many weddings where Holly was the florist and have always been amazed. Naturally, she was my first call when I got engaged. She is not only incredibly creative with her designs but she is one of the most generous people. She knew how much peonies meant to me (I got married in August...so a long shot!) and she made it happen. I showed her my mood board and she instantly understood my vision. She went above and beyond our agreed upon scope and surpassed every expectation. I cannot recommend Holly and her team more. -
