    Holiday Inn Downtown is a hidden gem in Rochester

    I cannot stop raving about the Holiday Inn Downtown. From the very first email I received after inquiring to the day after our wedding- they were very responsive, flexible and amazing. Shannon, who gives you her all and doubles as your event coordinator- responded to all of my emails throughout, within hours, sometimes minutes. I cannot speak highly enough of her. We had booked pre-covid and rescheduled multiple times. Each time they worked with us with no problems.
    Finally, this past July we were able to hold our wedding. It was nothing short of perfect and beautiful. The large ballroom was absolutely stunning with a little up lighting. We used in house centerpieces (which most places do not include) and the tables looked gorgeous. We didn't spend much on any extras, besides the up lighting and a couple sequin table clothes for the desserts and cake.... and the room still took our breath away.
    All of our guests have told us the food was the best (which we agree) and the servers were very friendly and fast.
    A good chunk of our guest list stayed in rooms at the hotel and had nothing but positive things to say and loved the convenience (parking is also on site and steps away from the front door, a huge plus in the city).
    The quality you get for the reasonable price makes this a perfect wedding venue. DO NOT overlook this venue! It is recently updated, the staff goes above and beyond and honestly, you cannot beat their pricing.
    We had both our ceremony and reception here and couldn't have been happier with everything.

    Amazing venue

    We got married on 8/31/19 at the Holiday Inn Downtown. Shannon was amazing to work with. We worked with Shannon for about a year while we were planning our wedding and she was so helpful throughout the entire process. She gave so many great recommendations and was so helpful every time we had questions. She answered emails so quickly, even late evenings and weekends. Shannon was so organized and really helped make our vision come to reality. On our wedding day, Shannon and her staff were amazing to work with and made everything easy for us. We could not have asked for a better wedding planner and venue. We are so happy that we worked with Shannon and the Holiday Inn. We have received so many great compliments on the food, venue, staff and amazing views from the tent. We would recommend Shannon and the Holiday Inn to anyone!

    Absolutely amazing!

    Without a doubt, this was our easiest and best decision of the whole getting married process. Shannon is an absolute rock star. She was on top of everything and made the whole process so easy. She recommended almost every single one of our other vendors and not once did she steer us wrong. I can't say enough good stuff about this venue or Shannon. Our day (5/25/19) was absolutely amazing and a HUGE part of it is because of the professional, excellent staff at the HI downtown Rochester.

    From Brendan joking with us in the morning as we got ready, to a few blips that were dealt with extremely discreetly and professionally, I enjoyed every single person on staff that made our day (and weekend) so wonderful. I would recommend this venue to anyone! Thank you Shannon!!

    They offer many options to make your day special. Decor, linen, they take your requests as far as food tastes.

    Reception in the tent was gorgeous!

    We had our reception at the Holiday Inn on 6/1/2019 and everything was flawless! Shannon made everything so easy for us. She knew most of our vendors, answered all of our questions, and made the tent look gorgeous with all of our decorations. I highly recommend the tent! This is the only venue (that I know of) in Rochester with a tent that still has plenty of protection from the rain!

    Great experience

    We had our wedding reception at the Holiday Inn downtown Rochester. All the staff went above and beyond our expectations. Our guests all said it was the best tasting buffet they ever had. We would highly recommend this venue for any event and especially a wedding reception.

    Meeting with my vendor for the first time.

    The vendor was very, reasonable. The place was immaculate and I can vision myself getting married here. They offer many things and add one to make your day a dream come true. The wedding planner shannon is very knowledgeable on her job and makes you feel comfortable. Responds to questions in a reasonable amount of time.

    Perfect wedding day !

    Someone recently reached out to me toask for a review of the Holiday Inn since they were thinking about using them for their wedding venue. Here's my advice: do it, you can't go wrong!! We had a great experience there and would recommend it to anyone!! The staff, food, hotel rooms were all soo good! Shannon, our wedding coordinator, was so organized and attentive throughout the entire planning process. She also is very quick at responding to emails which allowed me to feel at ease since we were planning out of state. You will get great quality for the price you pay!!

    Shannon and her staff were absolutely wonderful to work with! She was always willing to help and offer suggestions to make the planning process run smoothly! The venue was beautiful and exactly what we had envisioned. The day of went off without a flaw as she worked to keep the day moving and ensure all of our events took place!     Shannon was absolutely amazing to work with! She was so quick to answer emails and questions I had throughout the planning process.     Now that everything has settled down a bit I wanted to take a minute to appreciate Shannon Flanagan Eller at Holiday Inn Downtown Rochester. We can’t say enough amazing things about her. Since meeting her, she has been on top of coordinating our wedding. She’s so quick and effective when it comes to answering any questions or concerns we had (and boy did I have questions all the time) and always made us feel welcome to reach out to her. Shannon had amazing ideas as well and had great suggestions that added to the day and made it flow more smoothly, but really encouraged our input/decision for every part! She went so above and beyond for us and made our day everything we wanted and more. Everything went off without an issue! Shannon really is an expert in what she does and we couldn’t have been more blessed to have her in this important step in our lives. She’s just an amazing wedding coordinator and person and we’re just so thankful for her and everything she did for us. Thank you Shannon! ??

    Such a great venue to work with to plan a wedding. Shannon is amazing to work with as well as her entire team. Leading up to the day my questions and last minute concerns were answered within minutes. The entire weekend the whole staff was so pleasant and sweet! I couldn't have asked for a better place and better staff for my wedding! They exceeded my expections more than I could have ever thought!

    Shannon Flanagan (our wedding organizer from Holiday Inn) was absolutely amazing! Everything was planned out well and went off without a hitch. The banquet crew did an excellent job as well. Russel was checking in with us the whole night and was very attentive to our requests. Can't say enough good things about the Holiday Inn Downtown Rochester. Superb venue!!

    Our wedding at the Holiday Inn Downtown was absolutely amazing!!! Shannon and her staff are more than accommodating and went above and beyond in every aspect throughout the entire process. The food was fantastic, appetizers & entrees. As far as price goes I doubt you could get a better priced package in Rochester for all that it includes. Shannon worked with us to make sure that everything was exactly the way we wanted and was not afraid to consider out of the box ideas in order to give us what we envisioned. Her responsiveness was on point and every email i sent was answered withing 30 minutes, literally it did not matter what time of day it was she was always accessible and responsive. Our entire experience with the Holiday Inn Downtown was exquisite and when we told our other vendors what our venue was they were pleased to hear it was the Holiday Inn Downtown because they have all had great experiences working with Shannon and her staff. Definitely consider this venue for your wedding you will not regret it!!

    The wedding reception held at the Holiday Inn for my friends was absolutely beautiful! The staff was amazing and very accommodating! Shannon Flanagan made sure everything was perfect, and it was! We could not have asked for a better night or a better place to have had the event!

    The service four our wedding was absolutely amazing!! There was never a time where we couldn't find anyone about a question. The staff member made sure myself and my wife were always taken care of and our guests wer extremely satisfied!!! The venue was beautiful!! I would recommend holiday inn to anyone that is thinking about having a wedding!!! Food was amazing as well!! A+ thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our day memorable!!!

    Working with the Holiday Inn and Shannon was amazing. Any questions I had were answered in a timely matter, any concerns I had were taken care of well before the big day! We were very lucky to be able to have our wedding at the Holiday Inn. Our guests loved the s'mores bar and the food.

    The Holiday Inn was a terrific location for a wedding reception. The hotel staff including the reception area, all the chefs and servers, Shannon, Dave and Russell and everyone else involved in the planning were fantastic to work with and did an outstanding job. The reception room looked beautiful. The food was excellent. We had many guests stay overnight and enjoyed breakfast the following morning. The day, from start to finish, was perfect. We would highly recommend this venue for a wedding reception!!

    We had our wedding reception here and it was AMAZING. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they did to help make our reception phenomenal. Shannon was absolutely amazing and so patient with us during all the planning - she also had pretty much immediate responses to any questions we had emailed her. Every single detail was beautiful and better than I ever imagined.

    Shannon was amazing to work with! She pays great attention to detail, and works hard to make sure your perfect day is just how you envisioned it! With 300+ guests being served dinner the Holiday Inn did it in record time! Every guest at our wedding LOVED their meal, loved the venue and had a wonderful evening.     We had our wedding reception at the RPH on Sunday, August 31, 2014. It was absolutely AMAZING. The room, seated for 300, looked beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff was helpful and extremely accommodating. The room was set up perfectly to my specifications, down to the smallest details.
    Austyn was our coordinator and she did a fantastic job and always responded to my e-mails and questions. I wish we could have used the Grand Ballroom and stayed past 12:30!!!! It was the best day of my life and I wish I could relive it!

    Our wedding was perfect! The hotel accommodations were fantastic! The food was incredible. Far beyond expectations! The venue was gorgeous. They accommodated up lighting and music wonderfully in the pavilion outside! The pictures were beautiful outside! The hotel is centrally located! The staff was so friendly and helpful! The reception ran flawlessly. They responded quickly and efficiently to our requests and it made for a perfect day.

    The Rochester Plaza hotel was simply amazing! We are SO glad we decided to have our reception here..from the very beginning to the very end details, the management and staff helped us throughout the way-they answered all of our details and helped us stay within our budget. The ballroom was absolutely beautiful and they did such an awesome job with all of it. We had an amazing night, thanks to the Rochester Plaza Hotel!

    Bunny Vahue and the whole event planning and catering team is amazing! From start to finish, they were professional, responded to our needs, and tailored our event to meet our personal needs. The staff was amazing, my mother and I planned the wedding, and at times it was difficult to have meetings due to my mother's schedule with her not living in Rochester. Bunny always accommodated our schedule sometimes coming on days when she was not working to answering emails very quickly (many times with in 30 minutes to an hour!) The food was delicious and considering how expensive weddings are, the value of everything that is offered in the package was a great deal. Our reception hall turned out beautiful!!! Any questions we had were answered, and the staff waited on us hand and foot. I didn't eat much during the reception and even something as simple as making sure a plate was set aside for me to eat upstairs in the bridal suite meant alot. The bridal suite was beautiful and it was so sweet of the staff to pay for our breakfast the next morning! I wholeheartedly recommend the Rochester Plaza for anyone who is looking for a reliable and professional staff, and a reasonably priced wedding package.

    My wedding reception was held at the Rochester Plaza Hotel and it was amazing. I can not say enough about the wonderful staff that they have. Every detail and request that we had was met. The food was excellent, at the end of the night the chef even came over to ask how the food was! It was a wonderful night!

    Beyond grateful for all the hard work everyone put in to make our day special! We didn't have to worry about a thing which made us enjoy our wedding that much more!! Everyone was positive, energetic and going above and beyond. We also got a lot of compliments from our guests staying at the hotel about the amazing service! Shannon was a pleasure to work with, she was very knowledgeable and made planning our dream wedding so easy and effortless. She responded quickly to any questions that we had and we loved working with her!! Thank you for everything, we had an amazing experience and time at our wedding! We highly recommend anyone to have their wedding with you!

    We had an awesome time planning our wedding with Shannon! The hotel was very accommodating as we had many guests and a few with special needs. The food is overall very good with a few dinners being hit or miss, but that's to be expected when you're cooking for nearly 400 people. I would most certainly reccomend this venue to other friends and family who are currently engaged!

    The staff was great from start to finish, making me feel comfortable with my choices and helping fill in the areas I wasn't sure of. While there were some snags the day of the wedding NONE of them were due to the Holiday Inn or their staff, but they still assisted in the resolution (outside vendors caused a few issues.) Shannon Flanagan was everything I needed her to be. She wasn't pushy or judgmental of our choices, just really interested in everything being done to how we wanted it. She was calm and the type of laid back that I so needed (not relaxed in terms of getting the work done, just not too aggressive, really making me feel relaxed with the process and that I was in capable hands.) Dave Staples and the food crew were fantastic and our Captain Courtney just tended to my every need (even the things I needed and didn't realize it) without being asked a thing. Just wonderful. I had a few last minute changes and the team was all too willing and able to accommodate and when I didn't have a decision made about something (something I hadn't thought of) they helped guide me to the best choice. You are in capable hands here and they do everything possible to minimize the stresses of wedding planning. We loved the idea of one stop shopping and did our Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony, and Reception at the hotel and I would HIGHLY recommend that. Rehearsal Dinner far exceeded all expectations. While it isn't the cheapest place, it does come with wonderful, competent, cheerful staff so you can trust your money is getting you quality. Thank you so much for helping me steer clear of the Bridezilla I was afraid I'd become. You kept me as stress free as is humanly possible!! Kudos all around!

    The staff was very helpful with the planning and making all of that go smoothly. The room looked absolutely beautiful the night of the wedding. The food was a little late in coming out. We had 3 special meals (vegetarian, vegan etc.) and all 3 were messed up. The food was very good though. Austyn is great to work with - she was very responsive and helpful all through the experience. Other than a few hiccups that I am sure the guests may not have noticed the experience was good. If you are looking for a beautiful ballroom this is your place.

    Terrible experience

    When we booked the venue we thought it was great they had a pleasant coordinator who quit shortly after we booked with them. The director of sales filled in for her. He was not very organized and had no attention to detail. When we had our food tasting event it was lovely, the table settings were beautiful and the food presentation was beautiful and we picked out our favorite tasting items for our menu. Come the wedding day the general manger of the hotel was now in charge of coordinating the wedding and making sure everything should have gone right. The staff broke our champagne glasses and just set them on our table with out telling us they broke them. The table clothes were all uneven with high ends and low ends. When the food came out it was NOT the menu we had said we wanted and they served French fries to everyone instead of our baby red potatoes. They never provided us with our table side wine service during dinner. When we mentioned all our complaints to the general manager he cowered down and never showed his face again instead of trying to make things right. We also ordered a garbage plate bar for later in the evening and all we got was cheese burgers hotdogs and rolls. We were also two women getting married and they put out signs saying “ mr and mrs. Absolute waste of money.

    Reserved a block a rooms with this hotel for my wedding. Almost all out of town guests reserved here. Groom and I reserved the "bridal suite" at $200/night for both the night before the wedding (for the groom) and the night of the wedding. They also provide shuttle service to and from the ceremony/reception venue. Ceremony was at 4 and they wanted to start shuttle service at 3:45 - had to call/contact multiple times to get it earlier. Shuttle service planned to go to end of reception at 11 pm, at 11:15 entire wedding party and family were still at the venue and the shuttle did not come back (after being told it would make extra trips) - seemed communication was poor between staff as one would state one fact and the next another. Finally arrived back at hotel to find "bridal suite" had not been cleaned all day from the night before, bedding had not been changed. Wasn't expecting rose petals (well maybe thought there would be champagne or some sort of special service at the rate we were paying) but thought room would at least be cleaned. Front desk service at 11:30 pm was not helpful stating no one from house keeping was in to change the bed and no managers were in to resolve the issue. Offered to have staff move us to a different room, on a completely different floor from all of our family/friends. Front desk eventually called back and sent up a bottle of champagne and we got a refund but not before stating how he had to "call his manager and wake her up." Very unprofessional service. Next morning house keeping was knocking on all of our guests doors starting at 8:00 am. Also, the pricing for the rooms the week of the wedding was cheaper than the "discount" from the wedding block, but when a family member tried to make a reservation for the wedding, they would not honor the current lower rate and said they had to charge the block rate. Would not recommend this hotel for guests - there are a lot better hotels with same price within .1 miles.
