Everyone that helped with our wedding was extremely organized, helpful, and seemed to truly care about our wedding going off without a hitch. Matt, the one who helped coordinate everything, responded very quickly and made sure everything was planned correctly. Maria, the banquet manager, was wonderful at making sure everything went smoothly the day of. They did a great job in decorating everything the way I asked and making sure that our guests were happy. Everyone raved about how wonderful the food was and how this was one of the best wedding receptions they'd been to. If we were to do it all over again, we would still get married at the Holiday Inn.Sent on 05/24/2016

Matt Monaco is an invaluable asset to the Holiday Inn Northwest. From going out of his way to ensure we stayed as close to our budget as possible to being extremely flexible with meeting times and even staying late at times to fit with our work schedules, Matt was overly gracious and helpful with our wedding planning.Sent on 10/29/2015
On the night of the reception, the entire staff was more than helpful. The room decoration was perfect, the meal was exceptional, and the event manager/bartender was very friendly and welcoming to all of the guests. This excellent service carried over into the breakfast and gift opening the next morning. While I couldn't enjoy the breakfast as much as I would have liked due to having a little too much fun the night before, it was still excellent and had a great variety. As a testament to the level of service received, the staff even helped us carry our gifts out to our car after breakfast.
Overall, our reception was so much more than what we paid for and I would definitely reccommend Matt Monaco and the Holiday Inn Northwest to anyone that was looking to have a wedding reception.
FYI: when you're choosing your meal, give the braised short ribs a shot. They were amazing.

Matthew was fantastic to work with and the staff was absolutely amazing! We had our reception at the hotel and everything was fantastic. Matt Monaco was great to work with. He made our reception planning easy on us and took care of a lot of the little details. Matt was pretty flexible in meeting with us, which was huge for us. Guests loved the food and enjoyed their stay at the Holiday Inn. The space was perfect for our reception, which we had 150 guests. Matthew and his staff went out of their way for my daughter's wedding. It was a military wedding, so the date had to be very flexible - meaning we might need to cancel at the last minute. There were very cognizant of our needs and assured me we could work things out.Sent on 03/30/2015
Even with the last minute changes and things, Matthew's team went above and beyond to make sure my daughter's wedding day was extra special. I can't remember the lady who was in charge during the ceremony / reception, but she was awesome. She did so many extra things - like making sure the grandparents got taken care of for dinner, not forgotten for pictures, and help back to their room when needed. They did so many added touches.
I have nothing put positive to say about this hotel. It is a hidden treasure!
Thanks to Matthew and his staff for may my daughter and her now husband's day so very special.

Everything was beautiful and we had a scheduled timeline of cake cutting, greeting, starting the meal. The catering director rushed everything and had food pulled before some were even served and was pulled before the time dinner was supposed to have started. Everything was beautiful and the food was great. Would recommend them, just make sure the person running it follows the timeline.Sent on 10/31/2009

Our experience at Holiday Inn & Suite Des Moines, Northwest was fantastic. Of all the places we looked to host our reception, they were the most willing to work with us and help us stay within our budget. Matt and his staff went above-and-beyond in helping us get the room ready. He also did a great job of keeping us organized and not letting any detail slip through the cracks.
