I could not have picked a better venue for our reception. This place KNOWS WEDDINGS. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. Sam Swiftney, their event coordinator, was the person who really made the day easy to plan and made it all run smoothly. He was helpful, friendly, and checked on us throughout the weekend (and throughout the entire planing process!) to ensure everything went off without a hitch. Thank you, Sam Swiftney! Their food is to die for (we had a buffet, but they also offer plated meals too). Everyone complimented us on the yummy food. The bar staff was friendly, despite our somewhat rowdy bunch! The rooms are spacious and clean. The grand ballroom was the perfect place for our daytime reception and had plenty of room for all 90+ guests and even our ridiculously-sized 18 person wedding party! The hotel itself is beautiful and sits on a beautiful waterfront view. This venue was perfect for us!

Our wedding was made perfect by our Holiday Inn wedding coordinator, Sam. I felt like his only client whenever we met, spoke on the phone or emailed. His attention to detail, problem solving, ideas, and kindness was beyond my expectations! Every guest raved about how good the food was (we did a buffet dinner) and how beautiful their outdoor event space was (we had our wedding under the tent on the lawn). Weather was perfect (Labor day weekend wedding) and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to get married! Our guests enjoyed their stay! Overall- TOP NOTCH VENUE!!!! We were beyond impressed and wish we could re-live it again!!

Definitely recommend! Molly, the coordinator, is so quick at replying to emails. She is also awesome to work with. If you think it's too expensive, talk to them. They're willing to make custom plans to suit your needs. The only thing that was chaotic really was the day of, before the ceremony, but that was partly to blame on it being a wedding, us, and the weather. One other downfall is if you're checking in as a guest staying at the hotel, you really can't check in until 3. Some of our guests ran into issues because our ceremony was at 4, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, I'm glad we booked here, and I'd recommend doing it too.

I contacted and visited Holiday Inn Grand Haven-Spring Lake. Their representatives were very helpful, friendly and responsive. They took care to tend to the smallest details to be sure our event and stay were perfect. The area and service made for an extremely special day! We received so many compliments about how beautiful, intimate and touching our day was. People imagined that we had to put so much money into having such an exceptional event. That really was not the case. We made priceless memories that fit our budget. Everyone who stayed at Holiday Inn congratulated us, we truly received the love and support of not only the staff, but the community of people in Grand Haven. It was truly perfect in every way and we are thankful for the amazing memories. We can't wait to visit again to re-live the fond memories created there. Molly Rand gave me complete confidence in every aspect and I entrusted details with her without hesitation or question. Best Day/Best Decision!!!

Molly Tuma was our wedding planner and she was amazing. She took care of everything and even put up with our constant emails with questions! We highly recommend using Molly at Grand Haven Spring Lake Holiday Inn. It was a beautiful venue and excellent food. Our guests loved the experience!

Great place to have a Wedding Rehearsal dinner!

Food was great and they were so flexible when one of the entrees was overcooked! They immediately found an alternative.
Very helpful staff, wonderful to work with. Would definitely recommend them!

Molly and the venue staff of the Holiday Inn in the Grand Haven and Spring Lake are were the best. They not only were flexible, but also catered to our every need on our very special day. I would recommend this venue to any and everyone do to Molly's ability to make our special day so wonderful.

Our daughter's wedding was perfect! The staff was amazing and always willing to help. The property was perfect for a fall wedding and the guests loved it.

From start to finish, everything was handled with amazing professionalism and friendliness. Any and all inquiries, requests, and suggestions were handled and/or answered usually within 24 hours with an incredible amount of flexibility. The biggest decision for our day (where to have the ceremony/reception) was the easiest because of the staff and management. Every detail was treated as though it were the most important. The atmosphere and food were nothing short of perfect!

Molly Tuma at Grand Haven/Spring Lake Holiday Inn was absolutely fantastic. She was professional while being incredibly caring, personable, and sweet. She went above and beyond the call of duty for us! We live 3.5 hours away and Molly was willing to meet with us on Sunday when our travel schedule permitted. In addition, I had trouble finding a hair/make up artist as the annual Coast Guard festival was going on. Molly was the one who made the contacts and found someone for me. I can't say enough wonderful things about Molly Tuma! She made planning a destination wedding stress free, simple, and easy. We LOVED the look of our reception (including the flowers which Molly put us in contact with as well), the wait staff was professional and pleasant, happy, and helpful. It was a wonderful wedding! Thank you Molly!

Molly Tuma at the Spring Lake Holiday Inn is an absolute joy to work with. She played a key role in ensuring our wedding and all the details came together they way we wanted. Molly is sweet, professional, organized and exceptionally quick responding to any concerns/questions.

Living in Florida and planning a wedding in Michigan or any other state for that matter isn't easy. You most likely won't be able to see every decor component you are deciding on for your wedding. However, Molly did a fantastic job providing us pictures of everything we needed to make decisions on: lighting, linens, table sizes, floor plans. Her thorough communication helped us make the best selections for our needs.

Thank you Molly, Collette, and the rest of the staff at Spring Lake Holiday Inn for a beautiful day. We enjoyed your great locations, excellent customer service, and hotel renovations. The best Looking Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at.

The entire Holiday Inn staff was absolutely wonderful. I could not be more pleased with the support they provided before on my wedding. We loved them so much, we booked our rehearsal dinner there as well! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was outstanding! I adored working with Molly Tuma and Collette Taylor. I got the opportunity to work very closely with Molly during the planning stages. She was kind, responsive, attentive, and always had my best interest at heart. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Holiday Inn- Spring Lake location! I can't wait to visit again!

Molly Tuma and the team at Holiday Inn provided the very best of service. The food was excellent as was the service! Molly was so helpful throughout our planning. She was quick to get back to us even though she had suffered a death in her family. That's dediicstion! We are grateful for all the services.

I can not say enough great things about Collette and the Spring Lake Holiday Inn. From the moment I sent Collette an email introducing myself, I have felt like her only bride (and I know there are many, many more than just me). She put every ounce of herself into our wedding making sure it was my perfect day. When my chair cover vendor came through with the most wrinkled chair covers ever, Collette personally took off every single one and put them through the drier to take out the wrinkles. She is accomodating, caring, empathetic and is simply the best. She will go to bat for her brides and make your day absolutely perfect. I can not thank her enough. She is AMAZING!!!
The food was perfect, the staff was attentive, the bartending was quick and all of my guests felt at home from the hotel staff. I would not change a single thing about the Holiday Inn. It was the best reception I have ever been to--and I'm not being partial because it was my wedding. Collette and her team made it the best and made my wedding the best day of my life. THANK YOU!!!!!!

I was worried about everything, like I'm sure all brides are, but The Waterfront Holiday Inn of Grand Haven - Spring Lake took care of all of it. Molly, their wedding coordinator, was extremely professional and made sure all of my needs were taken care of. I was extremely happy with the overall experience and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a simple, elegant wedding.

My experience working with this vendor was excellent. I was especially impressed with their wedding specialist, Molly, who was well organized, had great suggestions, and went above and beyond to answer my emails and make last-minute meetings with me. I wasn't using my own wedding planner and was doing everything from out of state, so this level of service is was what sold me on using them for our reception. I gave Service a 4.5 just because there was a little confusion between Molly and the banquet coordinator as we got closer to the event, but everything was straightened out quickly and with very little hassle. They worked with our vendors well and even did some of the setting up themselves, which really helped me relax and enjoy our day. Overall they did a great job and worked with us on everything we wanted.
We had our reception in the ballroom with about 120 guests. We fit perfectly with this number, and I may have been nervous to try to fit more. We were able to use the smaller meeting room for the bar/appetizers, which I think helped open up the space a bit. The only thing that would have increased the value for me would be if the room had some natural light/better lighting. The room is nice, but I would not describe it as fancy in its own right. If I had had a little more time I may have done more decoration/lighting on the walls/ceiling.
Lastly, the food was amazing. We only heard good things about it, and I'm fairly confident everyone genuinely enjoyed it. We had several people who needed to make special arrangements due to dietary restrictions, and the Holiday Inn worked with us on all of these and put just as much thought/care into the alternative dishes as the main entree choices. This was great because I've been to a lot of weddings where they seem to skimp on the vegetarian option...
I could tell that the Holiday Inn had a lot of experience handling these events and truly cared about us. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding reception!

Great, great place in terms of "one stop shop" and the venue is gorgeous being on the harbor. Molly was awesome in terms of responding to emails and working with me to make our rehearsal dinner special. Also day of Molly was around to deal with last minute hiccups.

Only cons is A) is a tiny bit pricey given tent fee and paying for drinks per person (vs. using caterer, although I'm not positive about how much you'd save B) some red tape given it is Holiday Inn (e.g., done by 11pm, hard to negotiate), and C) food is good but not great so probably a tiny bit overpriced.

Overall though - if looking for a place to have an event like rehearsal dinner that is almost a guarantee to be solid and easy - go for it.

Every wedding has a few day-of problems, but Molly and her team at Holiday Inn tried effortlessly to make sure our day ran smoothly!

We planned our wedding from out-of-state and greatly appreciate her quick responses via email to all our questions. She was also very flexible with what we wanted and needed to make our day special.

I think they did a wonderful job making our wedding special and trying to help with last minute emergenices, like a storm right before our outdoor wedding. They rushed to make sure an indoor spot was avaiable if need be. Fortunately, the skies cleared and our tented, waterfront wedding went off without a hitch.

I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a nice, simple setting for their event.

The only complaint I really have is the price of hotel rooms for my guests- many of whom came from around the country and stayed in Coopersville because the rates were too high. Part of the reason I chose this location was for the convince of a hotel along with my reception venue. However I was very impressed with the staff going above and beyond to make my day extra special!

My daughter's ceremony and reception were held at the Spring Lake Holiday Inn. Everyone was very attentive to what was needed to make her day special; including, watching the thunder heads above to wiping down the chairs outdoors. Our guests were extremely pleased with the food selection (buffet with salmon and ribs. Yes, ribs...the meat fell off right off the bone) and raved about how it tasted. A day that started out with rain, rain, rain; turned into a beautiful and fun occasion!

THIS PLACE IS GREAT. THE FOOD WAS GREAT, THE SERVICE WAS GREAT, AND THE HOTEL IS ATTACHED SO NO DRIVING HOME FOR OUR MANY GUESTS. AND FOR THE PRICE YOU'LL NOT FIND A NICER PLACE IN THIS AREA FOR THE MONEY.

I loved the location, that is why we chose the Holiday Inn as our ceremony/reception spot. The day of the wedding went smooth, we only had a few small bumps on the big day (wrong music being played and a table not set up in time) but nothing big enough to fuss over! Molly was great to work with, one thing that I didn't like about this spot was everything had to stop at 11pm. We ended our reception about 10:45 and the workers were already hounding us as we were picking up that we needed to be done in "15 minutes" mind you guests were gone and music was stopped. We ran into that problem the night before as well, a few guests were hanging out outside and were told we couldn't be on the dock/pool area or on the grass because everything closed at 11 pm. Other than that we had the perfect wedding !

We had our guests stay at the HI Spring Lake and had our ceremony on the lawn overlooking the marina. The hotel could use some updates in the rooms but they are clean and were very affordable for what is considered the areas' off season. The wedding contact changed during our planning season, but the replacement contact was great. Unfortunately the initial contact gave us quite a bit of lip service.
The grounds were beautiful for the day of our wedding and everything went off without a hitch outside- I just recommend double checking on the backup room in case it rains!

You can't beat the location. Right on the water, with a beautiful lawn space. It was a bit pricey when looking into comparable venues, but for the majority of our family it made the most sense for everyone who was traveling in. The food was good, and the tent and chairs were all set up appropriately. One of the highlights of the venue was the attached hotel, so no one ever had to leave or travel once getting to the location! The rooms were a bit pricey, and my wife and I were really bummed that we didn't even get a free room on the night of our wedding??? We spent a lot for the venue, and then had to spend another couple hundred for a hotel room on our wedding night... We had no other real issues other than having to ask a handful of people to leave the reception who came down from the hotel bar, and then again from the docks surrounding the reception. There was no one from the hotel to be mindful of watching for people doing this which is a cause for concern! Other than that our day went great and we were happy with our choice of venue.

Overall I had a good expirence, everyone was pretty nice, I just don't think you get a whole lot for your money.

The price was great for the location and day, but unfortunately they also booked another ceremony and reception the same day and due to my reception being outside, our wedding had to be later (we didn't get to start till almost 7pm!) It was also confusing knowing who we were supposed to contact because the girl I originally talked to had quit and no one notified me, and someone else took charge and we had to start all over again. It was like pulling teeth getting in contact with who was in charge throughout the whole planning process which frustrated everyone. But when it came down to the day of the wedding, everything turned out perfect

We had our rehearsal dinner here. We preselected 5 menu items for our guests to choose from. Everything went well, but we all had our dinners at separate times. I was completely finished with my meal before the steaks were even brought out. We had a big group and we only had two servers (one was new). So our service wasn't up to par.

SLHI was very responsive about answering questions and helpful in the planning process, especially Molly Tuma and Janet Olah. My only critique is that night of the reception, the catering staff did not inform us they would be removing the food. As a busy bride and groom greeting all of the guests, it is common courtesy to let either the bride, groom, parents or master/mistress of ceremonies know that the food will be put away. SLHI staff failed do this and neither the groom or bride had anything to eat nor did the staff save food for the bride and groom. It was disappointing and not expected from such a nice place.
