A Truly Great Team
I truly can't say enough good things about Holden Michael Events. Holden and his team were with us for 3 years because we were one of the covid 2020 weddings that got pushed. We hired him for design and month out coordination and it made the wedding easy to manage, a lot less stressful, and absolutely beautiful.
Holden and his team are top notch professionals and were available when we reached out with questions, provided great recommendations, and coordinated every detail. I am not good at design, so we hired him and his team for that. He listened to what we wanted, the aesthetic we were trying to achieve, and the general vibe of the wedding and delivered a beautiful design that was right on point for what we were looking for and then some. He handled all coordination of design rentals (tables, chairs, flowers, linens, etc.), was timely in sending invoices, and flagging when deposits and final payments were due. Everything was in an online platform you get access to that made it all very easy to manage.
On the day of our wedding, it poured (go figure it was beautiful all weekend until our wedding day). He was able to help me make quick decisions, keep me calm, and make pivots as we needed. The rain ended up stopping just in time for a beautiful wedding. Everyone kept remarking how beautifully designed the space was. Holden handled coordination of all the vendors and kept us on track with our schedule.
The best and most important thing I can say is that I simply wasn't worried about anything logistically that day. I had total confidence and peace of mind that Holden and his team had everything covered. And they did. Everything was perfect. It was a beautiful day, no stress (other than the rain), and I 100% attribute that to Holden and his team's ability to properly plan, adapt on the fly, and execute. This is the wedding planning team you should hire.

Holden is so wonderful and we would highly recommend him for event planning. Our wedding day was even more magical than we could have imagined thanks to Holden. The BEST and I mean it.
These two. Ugh. I am going to cry just writing this review. My wedding (during COVID) did not go as I would had originally planned it. I went back and forth - should I postpone? Should we just elope? It was such an emotional time for us. Holden and Derrick were there with us every step of the way. They gave me their honest opinions about what to do and helped me navigate through a very not fun situation. With their help, my wedding was even better than I could've imagined. I remember one time I emailed Holden at 1:00am Central time - he responded within minutes. That's 2:00am his time. When I say these two will go above and beyond to make sure your wedding is exactly as you imagined it, I mean it. All of the little details you will let slip past you - they won't. They know EVERYTHING there is to know about weddings and they will make sure everything has a place, a time, and is on the schedule. If you are on the fence about hiring a wedding planner... let me tell you. It is worth the money, especially if your money gets you these two fantastic gentlemen and their team. Hire them - you will not regret it. Holden & Derrick - you guys made my wedding an absolute dream and nothing I say or do could thank you enough. :)-

Best decision we made was hiring HME!
We worked with Holden & Derrick for month-of-coordination services at The Felt Estate in September. While their services were focused largely on the month of our wedding, they made themselves available for vendor recommendations, questions and advice the entire time. Every time we talked to Holden & Derrick, we would always feel so much better and calmer about what we were worried about coming in. (And that's saying something, considering we were planning throughout the changing COVID restrictions & guidance). We trusted their expertise and recommendations implicitly, and it paid off. Our day went smoothly thanks to their advice & coordination. All of our vendors praised working with them, and we saw why.
This was the best money we spent throughout the entire wedding process. If you are going back and forth on having a coordinator - DO IT & make it Holden Michael Events. -

Exceptional At His Craft
Holden exceeded every expectation. He is insightful, creative, and exceptional at his craft. We experienced an unfortunate illness during our ceremony that caused quite a bit of panic, but Holden and his team remained calm and poised. They assisted guests, calmed the room, and guided the ceremony to its completion. His response was highly commendable. In the end, my wedding was absolutely beautiful, romantic, and more elegant than what I envisioned. Holden over-delivers and that is a personal attribute that is evident in his work. The man is stellar!!! -

Completely wonderful!
The contributions that Holden and Derek made to our wedding planning process and big day are one of the key reasons it was a success! They were communicating with us every step of the way and incredibly proactive. It was such a major benefit to have their organization and expertise with us throughout the process. Highly, highly recommend! They were detailed, accountable and undeniably helpful with all parts of the process. We couldn’t imagine doing it without them. -

The perfect wedding!
PLEASE NOTE! The wedding was on 9/14/2019 (I don't know why it says 2013!!) As the mother of the bride, I want to let folks know just how much we enjoyed working with Holden and his team. We chose the full service package and it was definitely worth the extra cost - saving us time and stress. Holden is organized and calm. My daugther and (now) son-in-law shared their vision and to me it was a bit fuzzy. However...when we met with Holden for the design review he truly NAILED what they had envisioned but couldn't quite explain. His use of mixed materials for the table settings and decor was truly stunning. Every one of the other vendors we used all said when we told them we were working with Holden, "you are so lucky! He is our favorite to work with". I now know why.
Of course we did have a few hiccups, including an issue with the stationary vendor that he had recommended. He was on top of the situation and our finished pieces were stunning. We also realized about two months before the wedding that for everyone's peace of mind we scheduled a weekly standing phone call for all of us to review the outstanding items on our To Do list. This worked very well and kept everyone on track.
Finally, at the reception, the only questions I was asked by Holden or his team were always, "are you having a great time? Did you love the food?, etc. Not one time was I asked to make a decision that night. If anything had gone wrong behind the scenes, it clearly was handled and I was never involved. It was a perfect evening!
That was our last wedding but I would highly recommend Holden and would most definitely use him again to help me plan an event.-

Holden's team helped make our day simply amazing
Working with Holden and his team was an absolute dream. Leading up to the wedding Holden was incredibly responsive and helpful. He provided some great insight along the way. The day of the wedding, Holden and Derrick made the venue look even better than we could have imagined. They handled everything behind the scenes and we didn’t have to worry about a thing! -

Stellar human being
I am a wedding photographer and I worked a wedding with Holden. I was blown away by the care, patience, and organization he had for the wedding and the couple. About 6 weeks before the wedding I heard from him and the communication didn't end there. I also heard from him a week before as well. I appreciated his responsiveness to my emails and minor questions I had.
He truly blew me away day of the wedding. The schedule was a bit off track and there wasn't going to be enough time to photograph the couple's portraits if we followed through with the original schedule. I went to Holden with my concern and he was immediately brainstorming ways to mend the schedule so the couple had enough time for some portraits before it was complete darkness outdoors.
If you are planning a wedding you should REALLY really REALLY consider a coordinator.. then you should REALLY REALLY look into Holden. He did so many small jobs that would otherwise have to be handed off to a guest to do; transporting flowers, gathering people for speeches, coordinating with vendors... The list goes on and on.
If you have the pleasure to work with Holden at any event just thank your lucky stars. -

Month of wedding coordinator
I knew I wanted to hire a day of wedding coordinator for my wedding, so I did some research and found Holden Michael who offers a month of wedding coordinator package. I am so happy I hired him and went with this package. We met about 6 weeks before the wedding to go over final decisions, contracts, and design details. Holden was very well organized and paid close attention to every detail helping keep me on track and on top of everything. Also, he gives you access to his own wedding planning webpage, which I used a lot and it helped me stay organized. He contacted my vendors the week of the wedding to coordinate timing of their arrivals to set up for the wedding, which took a huge stress away from myself and my husband. We had bought many decorations on our own and also rented many as well. He did an amazing job using our items and the rental items to decorate the venue and set it up flawlessly. He kept everyone organized and everything flowed well and worked out perfectly the day of the wedding. I couldn’t have been happier hiring Holden. -

Incredible and Outstanding Help
Being in California, it wasn’t easy to plan things that far away. As soon as I found Holden, I knew he was going to help in a way no bride, groom, parent, friend, or anyone else could’ve helped; and he did! He was prompt in responses with answers to everything, he was helpful with not only tasks he provides but things he’s not supposed to cover as well, and he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all things wedding!
The day would not have been as perfect as it was without the help from Holden and I am so thankful for all the hard work he put into our big day.

Great Support
Holden was such a wonderful assistant in helping us to organize our daughter's wedding. We hired him and his staff for "day-of" coordination, but he provided a great deal of insight, advice, and planning in the weeks and months leading up to the wedding. My daughter and I are both artists and craftspeople, and so her wedding was mostly a DIY production. Holden took all that in stride and helped us when we asked for input, while being open and flexible with whatever plans we made on our own. He was supportive and positive, and it was just such a comfort to know that we had his skills and expertise in our corner when/if we should need it. He made sure that everything ran smoothly on the wedding day, helped with the decorations, and kept everything on schedule. It went off without a hitch. I highly recommend his services for anyone planning a wedding. -

Holden guided us through our wedding design, decor, planning, and day of coordination. This was the best decision we made, and I truly do not know how we would have pulled it off without him! He is incredibly patient, knowlegable, organized, and honest. Holden answered every single question that we had, and following his advice resulted in a gorgeous event that was incredibly smooth, well-timed...honestly just completely perfect. so many small details that would have been totally overlooked by us made a huge difference at the end of the day. My daughter (the bride) and I live a few hours drive from the venue site and we did not know any vendors there. Holden was instrumental in helping us choose everything from the caterer to the florist. He brought my daughter's vision of a rustic, romantic, and elegant wedding to life. We worked remotely with him with a couple face to face meetings. He was always available to us. We couldn't have done the wedding without him. -

Holden was absolutely amazing. We hired him for day-of coordination but received so much more than just day-of help. He helped us come up with a budget, provided awesome vendor recommendations, and answered our never ending list of questions. I felt like I could reach out to Holden with anything and he was always quick with a helpful response.
On the actual day of the wedding, Holden and his team were incredible. My husband and I didn't have to lift a finger or worry about a single thing. Everything went so smoothly (and if anything went wrong - I didn't know about it!) and the day turned out absolutely perfect. Holden also provided some linens for us which were gorgeous.
I completely recommend using Holden Michael Events for your wedding! Holden was worth every penny and so much more. He's also a lovely person that we genuinely enjoyed spending time with! Thank you, Holden!!! -

Holden was awesome!! He did my mom's wedding a few years before and I was so excited that I was able to work with him. He is EXTREMELY organized, which is helpful for me as I not only live in Texas but have a crazy work schedule. Hiring Holden as our day of coordinator for our wedding this past weekend was the best decision we could have made and money well spent. Now that I look back on it, I don't know how we would have managed without him! Holden went above and beyond our expectations from our initial email contact to the time he left the reception. He simultaneously relieved some of my workload while also letting me remain in complete control of everything. His responsiveness and attentiveness made me feel like we were his only clients and it's apparent that he loves what he does. In the extremely capable hands of his team our decorations, timeline and vision for the day were carried out flawlessly. His gentle nature and confident, calm demeanor made me feel at ease throughout the wedding and reception. And on a personal note, he is simply a fantastic human being. If you're thinking about hiring him, do it. Yesterday. -

We couldn't have pulled this off without Holden!
Holden and his team truly are a 5 star accommodating wedding service. From the start, Holden was kind enough to give us multiple ideas and vendors to contact about our wedding. Because we were having our wedding at a location outside of where we live, it was so important to have someone we trusted to connect us to vendors they trusted.
Our wedding was perfect! It really was. There wasn't a single flaw, or bump that we had to get over. It was completely smooth sailing and that was a testament to Holden coordinating all of it, having worked with our venue and vendors previously. It was great.
We can't recommend Holden enough. We only booked him for Day of Coordination services, but if you are looking for full on planning & design, there's no doubt in my mind that Holden will make it perfect. When we asked him for ideas, he made sure to ask about our vision and what we wanted to make sure everything tied into that concept.
You won't be happier and more thankful than working with Holden and his team for your wedding! -

BEST PLANNING DECISION EVER. We hired Holden as our wedding day-of coordinator - we planned everything ourselves, but then realized there were a lot of little things we had no one in charge of. Because Holden offers several service packages, it was perfect that we could choose just the day-of coordinator services - though his help really extends beyond that one day! Holden is very professional, exceptionally organized, kind and easy to talk to, and very skilled at what he does. He and assistant Christine seemed to think of every little thing, meeting with us to go over the day's plan and logistics, everything from how the cloth napkins should be folded and where to reserve parent seating to setting up decorations, confirming all of our vendors, orchestrating our sparkler send-off, and so much more. If there was anything that didn't go as planned, I never knew about it! It was a relief to know someone was in charge of things so that my groom and I, and our parents, etc. could relax and just have fun. Our day was perfect and wonderful and having Holden a part of it was truly a pleasure. -

I had a wonderful experience with Holden and his team! Throughout the entire process, Holden was very professional and on top on everything. Half of our wedding vendors came from his recommendations (all of which were great)! We live in Vegas and were worried about organizing our wedding in South Haven, Michigan. Hiring Holden was one of the best decisions. He gave us exactly what we wanted and more. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for help to put an event together. -

Holden was wonderful to work with from start to finish. He was professional, responsive, flexible and above-all an excellent wedding planner. His years of service in the industry is apparent in the positive relationships he has with numerous local vendors. Holden went above and beyond the call of duty to negotiate on our behalf and address any issues in a timely and professional manner. From the very beginning Holden shared with us his industry knowledge and suggestions while at the same time allowing us to expand on our own ideas, turning them into something concrete. He was also not afraid to say when he thought something might not work or look right and took the time to explain why. He stuck within our budget, actually coming in lower than we anticipated while still giving us all the glitz and glam of the perfect wedding. He was flexible in working around our schedule and meeting with us as many times as we saw fit. On the day of our wedding he was present and could easily be found while at the same time blending into the background, unnoticed. Holden is truly magical and worth every penny, plus some. He made the wedding planning process seamless and stress-free. If you are on the fence, look no further, Holden is your guy. Trust me, you won't regret it! -

Holden is an outstanding people person. He really does an awesome job at listening to what we wanted for my daughters wedding. He helped coordinate not only the all aspects that we wanted for those special touches at the reception, but the roses that were delivered were not the quality he felt we would wanted. He immediately made phone calls and followed up with vendors to make everything just right. The flowers the table settings the colors that we went with all came together and everything Holden did made our day spectacular. He is so amazing at wedding planning there is no one else I would go with. I cant thank him enough for all the detail things he did to make my daughters wedding day such a special one. I had the pleasure of working with Holden this past weekend at Millcreek Barn. As a Chicago caterer, I was unfamiliar with the area, and venue logistics. Holden was so detailed, organized and professional - and showed me and my team the ropes, which led to a smooth and flawless event.
His enthusiasm and calm demeanor made working together a dream. Throughout the planning, he was on top of timelines, equipment/linen orders and floor plans. There was never a delay in response. His team handled all the tables, chairs, linens, florals and chargers, and no detail was overlooked! The look-board he sent during the planning truly came to life on the wedding day.
I would recommend Holden Alee to any future bride and/or groom!

Holden is an absolutely phenomenal planner. We gave him a broad outline of what we were hoping for, and he executed it flawlessly. Nothing made me feel more calm and confident as a bride than to be able to say, when asked a question on my wedding day, "just ask Holden!" He is an absolute delight to work and spend time with, and I would recommend him to anyone. -

Holden was great. He listened very carefully to what we wanted and created a design that absolutely captured our vision. I wasn't certain if we needed a Day of Coordinator but would recommend it highly to anyone who might be on the fence. Having a professional take care of the many little details that crop up on the wedding day and busy weeks leading up to the event made it possible for us to simply enjoy the moment. Holden's floral designs and table-scapes were fantastic. He made the planning fun and easy. He was consistently open to suggestions and attentive to our budget considerations. He was patient when we emailed hundreds of questions back and forth leading up to the wedding and provided sound advice. We would recommend him highly -

Could have been better.
We hired Holden Michael Events and were assigned to work with Derrick. According to family friends who thankfully jumped in to help, Derrick was not proactive in making things happen around the setup and was not motivated to come up with solutions. He didn’t know the answers to simple questions and said things about his job like ‘yikes I’m pretty out of shape for this wedding thing’. Overall, didn’t seem to have a plan of attack to get everything done had he not have had several extra hands willing to help. The staff also spent a lot of time on their phones and ate off our cheese table. I would not recommend Holden Michael Events for large weddings - or anything that has a lot of logistics. -
