Absolutely Perfect!

Booking Mankin Mansion was the absolute best decision we made in our wedding planning process. Not only is the venue stunning, everything that is included with it made our lives so much easier. The planning portal has an extensive checklist with things I would never even thought of along with a tool to easily create your seating chart, a design studio, and more. They even have complimentary accessories you can use like table numbers and cake cutters to take a few things off your list to buy. The best part of Mankin Mansion was the planners and day-of coordinators. Our planner, Gillian, was truly incredible - she answered every little question we had right away, helped coordinate with all our vendors, provided advice along the way, and so much more. Our wedding day went so smoothly thanks to the their team who paid attention to every little detail and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. You can tell the team at Mankin Mansion truly loves what they do and I couldn't recommend them enough!

The wedding of our dreams

The Mankin Mansion absolutely delivered on providing our dream wedding. The venue is beautiful, the staff are super responsive, considerate, and professional. We were very impressed that all are our vendors seemed to consider it an honor to serve us at the mansion and seem to acknowledge that the venue had a certain level of expectations for their patrons. During and after our wedding, we continuously were complimented on how well organized and attentive the staff were. Many of our friends and family said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. You can just tell the owners, the staff, and the vendors with which they work care about every detail of everyone's experience. They of course prioritize the wedding couple and family.

During the planning process, they invested a lot in understanding our vision and took interest in every request we had. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our big day.

Phenomenal Planning Team and Beautiful Venue!

We could not have asked for a better wedding experience! The venue is STUNNING, but the planning team is what really takes Mankin above and beyond! My husband and I were hesitant to have a big wedding due to the stress that comes with planning, but the Mankin team made it so easy! They paid attention to every tiny detail to make sure the day went smoothly for our guests. Many of our guests commented on how blown away they were by the Mankin team, and we couldn't agree more! We did not have a single thing to worry about on our big day and we are so grateful to Mankin for ensuring everything went off without a hitch. We are so thankful to Mankin for everything they did to make our celebration so memorable and exceeding our expectations for our wedding. If you're on the fence, book it! My husband, Clay, and I celebrated our wedding at Mankin Mansion last September, and it was the best decision we made in our planning process. As a wedding planner at MM, I was initially hesitant to get married at my workplace, but no other venue came close to what MM offers! The location is enchanting, with historic brickwork, manicured greenery, and modern touches like an air-conditioned tent for reception. Exclusive access to the mansion ensured that we had privacy, and the proximity to the airport allowed convenient shuttle services for our guests. The MM team's exceptional planning process, thorough meetings, and attention to detail made our experience seamless! Highlights also included spacious getting ready suites, unique decor options, an open bar until the end, and a stunning backup indoor ceremony space. Could not recommend enough!!! Truly the best!

My husband and I visited Mankin Mansion and we instantly knew that it was the perfect venue for us! We worked with Gillian over the next 2 (ish) years to create the perfect wedding and timeline for us. We loved how much was included in the packages and how easy they made everything. Gillian and her assistant Emily truly make you feel so cared about during the entire process. On our day it did rain but the team were absolute pros and made the whole transition inside so easy and didn’t ask or “bother” my husband or I with any detail related questions about any of the decor they had to find a new layout for. It was so nice being able to trust that they would be able to handle the new plan without stressing either one of us out. We absolutely love Mankin and would recommend it to anyone!! They are the experts and treat you like family!

RUN (don’t walk) to book this place!!!

Booking Historic Mankin Mansion was without a doubt the BEST wedding planning decision we made!!! This venue was seriously worth every penny. If you’re having hesitations or second-guessing it, this is your sign to go for it.

The staff was so easy to work with and the venue itself is so beautiful!! Leah was the most incredible wedding planner and was so nice, considerate, and thoughtful throughout the whole process. She and the rest of the staff made everything so easy and were willing to work with us on any idea we had! They have so many helpful resources to offer and make the whole wedding planning process a breeze.

All of our guests kept saying they could see and feel how relaxed, happy, and calm my husband and I were on our wedding day! And we largely attribute that to the staff at HMM for being so wonderful and capable, and making us feel so confident that we didn’t have to worry for a second on our big day!

A magical experience from start to finish

I had a feeling about HMM from the start, and when we visited back in May 2021 during the venue search I knew it was the place for our wedding. Their package is unbeatable in terms of what it includes, and Leah, the planner who comes with the venue is a dream. I wouldn't have been able to keep everything moving and organized without her, and she was essential on the day of when it came to sticking to our packed schedule and wrangling two huge families. Martin, the owner of the venue, DJ'd our reception and did an amazing job keeping the party going all night. If you want a truly magical venue with a seamless planning experience, look no further than Mankin Mansion!

Couldn't be happier

I cannot rave enough about Mankin. There is so much included with their package that it was a no brainer, and they really care about their couples. We had to delay twice because of Covid and they were incredibly generous and considerate given how difficult of a time it must have been for the business. On the actual wedding day I felt like I did not have to worry about a single thing. Our wedding planner Leah that came with the venue was on top of every detail and made sure the whole day was everything we hoped it would be. Martin, one of the owners, also DJed for our wedding which was included in the package and did a fantastic job. 10/10 no regrets

A Wedding Oasis

The space, the people, the peace of mind. My fiancé and I were planning our Richmond wedding from afar. As many of you know, there are a thousand details, and it can be difficult to just trust your team with so much, but Mankin went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was nothing short of magical. I was a bride with them in April of 2022, our rehearsal marked the second time that I had ever stepped foot at our venue. That is how much you can trust them, and how incredible a team they are. The grounds have so much to offer. One of the reasons we chose the location is because of the privacy. We had the entire grounds just for us and our wedding guests. Our guests commented that there was something for everyone. We had lawn games, the hedge maze was a huge hit, as was the fire pit. I cannot commend Leah highly enough. She worked seamlessly with all of our vendors and the rest of our team.

the best venue

I LOVED having our wedding here. Gillian was absolutely amazing - I remember finishing the sparkler exit and her being there and I got really sad and said I'm really going to miss you! She was the absolute best - and made sure everything went great. A wedding is literally one of the best days of your life and you want people that truly care to be helping/around you. The venue is perfect as is - I could literally go on and on, because words doesn't even do the justice. Don't sleep on this venue it is absolutely the best & you will have the best people around you helping/preparing you for the big day!

Best Wedding Venue In RVA

My husband made the BEST choice ever by choosing HMM as our wedding venue. There is so many wonderful things to say about how our day was extra special due to the kindness, professionalism, and organization of this planning team. Let's start with the planning team. Gillian is absolutely amazing. She made sure that my husband and I lead the decisions with her expert lens right beside us the entire time. For someone who was more on the "organizational/type A" ish type of bride, she was excellent at making sure our details and big picture were captured. When it was time to select wedding vendors she provided a great resource list, and made sure to stay in contact with them as well to make sure everyone was on the same page. We were matched perfectly with a DJ there, and even the financial department was incredibly nice and professional. Next is the venue itself....wow...there is so much to say. This venue is stunning. There are so many hidden gems throughout the venue that are perfect eye catchers for you and your guest, and for pictures. We decided to use the indoor ceremony space and again it was beautiful. I love that they have several complimentary accessory packages that way most main wedding things you may need, they probably already have (i.e., candle holders, easels, welcome signs, seating chart easel, votives, fireworks, chargers, linens, cake/cupcake stands, getaway car etc). Lastly, the customer service was amazing. Every time we had a meeting at the venue we were met with amazing customer service that left my husband and I feeling amazing and excited each time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Best Wedding Venue in VA

Getting married at Mankin Mansion was the best choice I made in the entire wedding planning process. The space is beautiful, the planning team is incredible, and they made our day run so perfectly.

We picked Mankin because we wanted an all in one experience, to make our lives easier, and to make it easy for our guests, and they delivered. From the first meeting to our grand exit, as a bride, I knew the entire time that our special day was in great hands.

First of all, Mankin Mansion is simply beautiful. The grounds are amazing, and beautiful year round. And they fully customized our ceremony and reception in the gallery and tent to make it really come together. And the BRIDAL SUITE is to die for. Having a beautiful private space to get ready with my mom and bridesmaids made me feel like a queen. Pictures do not do this venue justice.

Second, the planning team is unmatched. Leah is outstanding. She made it all come together perfectly. She kept me on track with planning, coordinated between all of the vendors to make sure everyone knew just what to do, She made me feel like I was the only wedding she was planning the entire time! And on the day of the wedding, she seamlessly maintained the flow of the day. She even bustled my dress for me outside in 20 degree weather. I wish I had a Leah for real life.

Plus, having the music team available through the venue was so great because it was just one less thing to worry about. All the equipment is there, and they are fully involved in the ceremony and reception planning, so there was no hiccups or confusion.

There just aren’t enough words to describe how happy I am with how perfect our wedding turned out and it is all thanks to the team at HMM. They made sure every detail was handled and made it so that my husband and I were fully present with our friends and family on the happiest days of our lives.

I cannot say enough amazing things about the beautiful venue, but it’s really the team that makes Mankin so special. They are MORE than impressive. They are the ne plus ultra of the wedding industry. They are like family to my husband and I. I am so thankful for all that they did and the amazing memories I will get to cherish forever as a result of their hard work.

Wedding Planner/Bride Highest Recommendation

I have been a professional wedding planner for several years now, and Mankin Mansion is by far one of the best venues I have had the pleasure to work with. I selected them as the venue for my own wedding because it is gorgeous, offers tremendous value, and has an incredible staff. All of our guests still tell me how beautiful it was! Martin and Gillian were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The overnight cottages for our guests were an incredible edition and really let guests enjoy the night to the fullest. The luxury getaway car was a great touch. Martin's son was our driver and he was delightful. It was the best wedding that I could have possibly planned because the team at Mankin Mansion are true industry professionals!

The Perfect Venue to Celebrate Love

We knew from the moment we first visited the Historic Mankin Mansion that this was "our venue." HMM's grounds are gorgeous year-round and is constantly maintained to ensure it is photogenic from every angle. To be honest, it does not feel like you're in Richmond or Virginia when you're there—that's the best part! Historic Mankin Mansion is so unique as a venue, especially for weddings in Virginia where so many couples get married at the vineyards over and over again. HMM is special and was the best to work with. The team is small AND mighty! The owners, Paula and Martin, are with you throughout the process and know how to plan for and execute weddings. Their planners are just as amazing! We worked with Gillian and Lauren and they made us feel loved and respected and cared for throughout the many months we spent planning for our wedding... IT WAS PERFECT! We knew that our wedding was "a dream wedding" and now that we're married, we look back and can still say it was a dream that came true. The entire team is detail-oriented and cares about every moment. As a well experienced team, they share such wonderful insight and ideas for you and are candid—which meant a lot to us. Trust us when we say you want to work with a team that cares about you enough to give you candid feedback and suggestions ... they are experts at what they do!

We truly enjoyed every moment of the process and could not be happier with how our wedding weekend went at HMM. Everything was perfect! Our family and friends are still raving about everything weeks later and continue to share how much they loved our venue, the team, the grounds, and how much fun we had celebrating together. We will cherish our memories at HMM for decades to come and proudly tell our family and friends about the venue that perfectly celebrated our love.

The perfect venue

Almost immediately after we got out of our car to tour the space, we knew Historic Mankin Mansion was the perfect venue for us. Our coordinator, Gillian Zehr, was just astonishing – she is personable and friendly, but SO on top of every detail (both big and small) that made our ceremony and reception special. We’ve been receiving nonstop compliments from our friends and family about how gorgeous the venue was. The grounds are meticulously landscaped and well maintained and provided us with so many options for taking photos. On a more practical note, Mankin provided all the tables and chairs needed for both a ceremony and reception and offers a huge inventory of miscellaneous décor – table numbers, cake stands and cutters, etc. We opted to also rent tablecloths through them at a very reasonable charge. Planning a wedding during a global pandemic was not easy, but Gillian and the rest of the Mankin team were phenomenal to work with! We truly just had to show up and everything was taken care of. Martin (the venue owner and DJ) did a fantastic job with the music selection during the reception – the dance floor was packed, and everyone had a blast. From start to finish, they were incredibly responsive to emails and calls throughout our planning process and made every moment of planning enjoyable and stress free. We truly cannot imagine what our wedding day would’ve been like without their hard work and assistance and I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Look no further

HMM is the most perfect venue you can find in Richmond. All of my guest were impressed with the area and some even mentioned how they were shocked the tent had AC/ Heat and real doors.
It also rained on my wedding day and the fact that there's an indoor option that's equally as beautiful as outside is amazing.

My overall experience was amazing and if I had to do it over again I would still choose HMM. A lot of praise goes to Gillian though, she is an amazing person and made my planning so easy; especially since I was planning from out of state. She was accommodating and was on top of EVERYTHING. I honestly feel like I didn't do much work.

Dream venue!

Historic Mankin Mansion was a dream venue and we highly recommend it! Every time we visited for a planning meeting, we were in awe of its beauty, especially the gardens. If I had to summarize the vibe of the venue, I would say garden party, with Great Gatsby glamor. We initially heard about HMM in our search for a wedding venue that allowed dogs to be a part of your wedding, which, they do! It made our day so much more special and fun to have our dogs there. The most amazing aspect about this venue, however, is all that is included: a wedding coordinator/planner, DJ, tent, dancefloor, all the tables/chairs, and lots of décor, to name some of the bigger things. These are all huge items on your planning checklist that you get to cross off all at once. Additionally, packages include a hotel block (the hotel is only five mins away) with a free shuttle to/from the hotel. To not have to worry about guests drinking and driving is massive. Also, the bridal party getting ready room is stunning, and the groomsmen getting ready room has TVs, a pool table, foosball, and other games, which is a nice/fun touch for your day. This is a maybe silly detail but was important to me- another thing I absolutely loved about HMM is that you do not have to settle for a yucky backup space if you have rainy weather because their indoor ceremony space is just as stunning as the gardens. The entire HMM team was delightful to work with and the planning team thinks of EVERY detail in the planning process- you can just show up the day of your wedding, know that everything is well taken care of, and savor the day!!

The Best Kept Secret in the Commonwelth!!

The Historic Mankin Mansion is the best kept secret in the Commonwealth!! From the first time that I arrived unannounced to look at the venue in anticipation of our daughter's wedding, Gillian Zehr (who became our wedding coordinator) treated me with kindness and answered my every question. Martin and his team have built an amazing all inclusive wedding venue, but as good as the grounds and physical plant are, the staff and team are the stars of the show. Our wedding coordinator, Gillian Zehr, was an angel sent from heaven. This lady is an absolute professional in every way. She was ultra responsive and communicative, she literally thought of everything, she is kind, a good listener, and nothing rattles her. This lady took so much much pressure and stress off of our family, because we knew that she always had everything under control. I have been in the business world for over 30 years, and Gillian is one of the best that I have ever dealt with. Book this venue NOW, because their calendar fills up fast....and now I know why!! Bravo and thank you so much!!

Beautiful Venue with Great Staff

Mankin Mansion was the perfect venue for our wedding, and I would recommend it ro anyone looking for a fun space and a great team. When we were looking for a space, we wanted a spot where we really felt we could host a celebration with all our friends and family. With its tent, patio, gardens, indoor area, and more, Mankin was that spot for a great time. It was the most expensive spot we looked at, but ulitimately we decided to book because we loved the venue and so many things like the DJ, coordinating services, and decorations were included. This was the right choice! Even though we paid more money upfront, we saved money in the long run with all the services Mankin provided. They also were so incredibly easy to work with and we avoided a lot of the nightmares other couples experienced due to COVID. We had to rebook twice, and the venue with so flexible and supportive as we tried to figure out our best options. Our coordinator Gillian was absolutely fantastic, along with the rest of the Mankin team who supported her day of, and she made everything flow so smoothly so we did not have to worry about the little details day of and just have fun. Their DJ also did a fantastic job. My husband has very particular tastes about music and was worried about whether or not the music would align with our vision, but Martin hit it out of the park. We had a beautiful wedding that everyone enjoyed thanks to the Mankin team.

We love Mankin

First of all, the venue itself is breath taking! This was the only place we went to due to falling in love with it the moment we stepped on the grounds. Words cannot express how wonderful they are to work with. The planner we worked with, Lauren, was such a huge help throughout the process! Could not have been more perfect!

If you are looking for an "all-inclusive" wedding venue, look no further. The Historic Mankin Mansion was amazing and better than we could have ever dreamed for our fall wedding! We actually booked within two weeks of getting engaged because it really did seem like the best value in the Richmond area. I would recommend that you book ASAP if you are interested because the popular dates really do get snatched up quickly. We ended up getting married on the Sunday before Veterans Day and got lucky with a sunny, 65-degree day for our outdoor ceremony. It was perfect!

Things that came in our package: personal coordinator (we love you Lauren!), Aisle Planner program with a full checklist and super easy option to create a seating chart, DJ, covered tent with French chandeliers and cool up lighting, tables, gold chiavari chairs, complimentary accessories (the coordinator literally made all but one of our signs), window frames with ribbon for easy table assignments, cake stand and serving tools, the Bentley getaway car ride, etc. I could keep going because we got so much from our investment at HMM and if you're on a budget like we were, it WILL save you money!

The meetings we had with our coordinator were really well spaced out and helpful, so we were stayed on the same page. She did such a great job and many guests commented on how well our wedding flowed. We loved that HMM allowed us to customize our ceremony so much. Both our dogs (a smaller Maltipoo and a medium-sized Austrailian Cattle Dog) were both in the wedding and we had the latter pet trained to hit a bell that signaled the French doors to open for me to walk through & down the aisle with my dad. It was incredible.

Another hit on our wedding night? Martin as our DJ! He even got my 85-year-old Vietnamese grandmother up and dancing. The way he mixed the music was genius. A bride-to-be at the wedding literally texted me the next morning and said, "The dance floor was LIT. I would love to see your playlist at some point." The best part was we only briefly discussed what genres of music we preferred and offered a few song suggestions, so Martin really did all of the work.

When it got hot and sweaty on the dance floor, our guests had a great space to go outside to cool off. We opted to get fire pits (which HMM made sure to keep lit throughout the evening) and put candles along a wall outside. So it really did look magical.

We also saved money on our open bar because we just got a day-of ABC license and all our alcohol in bulk at Costco (liquor at the store in Washington, DC). We ended up returning all of the alcohol that wasn't opened, which was like an unexpected bonus.

Lastly, our night ended with a sparkler sendoff and such a fun ride in the Bentley with Paula to our hotel. We could not be more thankful to everyone at HMM who made sure we had the best day!

Amazing!!!

This venue is amazing! There are so many little nooks to take great pictures and the landscaping is perfect 24/7. The staff is incredible. We met with Martin for our tour and were hooked! Madison, our planner, was amazing and so patient and accommodating during the planning process. We loved using the Aisle Planner tool that they provided to help us stay on track with planning. Amazing team. Amazing service. Amazing venue!

Wedding Perfection!

If you are looking for the perfect venue in Richmond, you have found it. Not only is the property "architectural digest" beautiful, we are beyond happy with all the services provided by Historic Mankin Mansion. When you sign up, you are provided with easy to use software that organizes your life while planning. Then they schedule a number of meetings to keep you on track providing deadlines to help you manage an overwhelming process.

We had a TON of out of town guests (50+ hotel rooms) and the fact that they work with Hilton who provides free shuttles to and from the venue was a big sell for us, especially since we had an open bar. Madison, was amazing to work with, she is so sweet and helpful and patient and attentive. On the day of she was EXTREMELY on top of things. I felt completely confident in her and was so happy that she was taking care of everything. The place runs like a well oiled machine.

Martin was our DJ and he did a fabulous job helping us narrow down music (we had way too long of a list lol). He also made excellent suggestions for the ceremony and pre-ceremony that our guests loved. Martin was also who we initially met with on our first visit, it was a rainy cold day in January (and still beautiful there) - he explained that they have 100 complementary umbrellas in case of rain. I mean c'mon, THEY THINK OF EVERYTHING!!

The location is like being in your own world. The gardens on site are exquisitely kept. EVERY SINGLE TIME we visited prior to the wedding there was someone maintaining the grounds. The landscaping and architecture is so picturesque we opted not to decorate the ceremony area because truthfully it didn't need anything other than the flower beds and trees that were already there. On the day of our wedding the property was complete perfection. When the sun went down the lighting throughout the property made everything whimsical and magical.

Amazing Experience

It was a rainy Sunday last July when we toured the Historic Mankin Mansion. It was the fourth venue we looked at and the third in the rain, despite the rain we instantly fell in love with it. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the amenities it included were well worth the money. The Mansion comes with a coordinator throughout the planning process who is there for the day of and a DJ which of course are two big ticket items. There are two options for a ceremony space as well as cocktail hour and one for the reception all of which are gorgeous and naturally beautiful. The grounds also include spaces for both parties to get ready and hang out before the ceremony.
From the moment we signed on and started gathering our other vendors as soon as we would tell them where our wedding was being held they told us that they had no further questions for us if we had none for them as we were in such good hands. We quickly learned this to be true as our coordinator Lauren made the whole process seem so easy.
The Mansion has a required list of caterers to choose from and also gives a list of preferred vendors to help you get started. I later learned that our photographer was on that list and I found our florist on the list. The planning process with the Mansion includes a few meetings and little bits of homework to keep the couple on track with the things that need to get done. The process kind of takes care of it self as our planner Lauren walked us through each step and was always an email away if we ever had any questions.
The reputation the Historic Mankin Mansion has in the community speaks for itself and we had the best experience using them. We had a beautiful day and we're so happy to join the ranks of Mankin couples.

Best Venue Ever!!

From the very first moment I stepped foot at the Historic Mankin Mansion, I knew it was the perfect wedding venue for me! We booked the full week weekend package and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!! Everything was so perfect and flawless and stress-free because of this venue. From having a wedding coordinator built in to the package (shout out to Lauren!) to providing cottages for up to 16 overnight guests, they really have thought of everything and give you a lot of bang for your buck! At our very first meeting to tour the venue, we were greeted by Martin (one of the owners with his wife Paula) and offered heart shaped cookies and beverages. That alone shows that they go the extra mile to make you feel special and cared for during your time on their property. They do such a great job planning and coordinating with you and your vendors, on the wedding day you pretty much just have to show up and let them run the show! Lauren, Madison, Martin, Paula and the entire team truly made us feel welcome, loved, cared for and completely at ease during the planning phases and the entire wedding weekend. I swear when I needed a straw during the wedding night they found me a straw within 2 seconds! Their level of professionalism and customer service is high quality and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how amazing the venue was! If you’re getting married you should really consider this as a top contender for your special day!!

My daughter's wedding was held here and it was a perfect experience. My only advice would be that you ask for the ac/heat in advance since we thought it would be on if more than 80 and that didn't happen, it got a little worm under the tent.

Perfect Summer Wedding!

Our June wedding at Mankin Mansion was nothing short of perfect. We were blessed with a beautiful 80 degree day, which allowed us to truly take advantage of all that the venue has to offer. The grounds were so lush and green, and the flowers were all in bloom. We kept the doors of the tent opened, which encouraged our guests to wander back and forth between the dance floor and the twinkle lights and cocktail tables outside.

Madison and her team made the day run so smoothly. Leading up to the event, she asked thoughtful questions and made sure that we had thought through all of the little details. She successfully wrangled our fun-loving bridal party and ensured that they knew exactly where they needed to be. We appreciated her ability to keep us on schedule but also allow us to enjoy the moment. She also did a great job of coordinating with our vendors and allowing us to focus on our friends and families. Martin, the DJ, kept the dance floor packed all night. He seamlessly incorporated all our off-the-wall requests with songs that were sure to keep the crowd engaged.

As a natural planner, I also appreciated all of the tools and resources that Mankin provided us throughout the planning process. It was helpful to have a website where I could upload/edit information, keep track of the "to-dos" I needed to accomplish and plan my seating arrangements.

All and all, we loved the venue and would highly recommend it to future brides and grooms!

Winter Wonderland Wedding

Every person I spoke with from the first tour until the bouquet toss was exceptional. Historic Mankin Mansion staff made me feel like I was their only bride and their top priority. My wedding fell on the only day it snowed in December and my coordinator Madison called me bright and cheerfully the morning of to tell me they'd called in extra staff to clear the paths and make the entire venue safe for my guests. I was overwhelmed by the professionalism and the care this highly organized team took on to make sure my day was special!!!! I think everyone should celebrate any occasion at this Richmond gem!

Historic Mankin Mansion was an absolute dream. Not only is the venue gorgeous rain or shine but the time and effort that goes into helping plan your day was extremely helpful. I loved working with there team(especially Katie, our planner)! It was bit more expensive then we were planning but in the end totally worth it! Couldn’t recommend it more!!

Historic Mankin Mansion is the whole package. In addition to being the most stunning property I’ve ever witnessed, their team is knowledgable, experienced, and always ready to help a bride in need. Booking with HMM was truly the best decision we made in our whole wedding planning process. We not only got access to all of the beautiful grounds, but we were provided with a planner, DJ, and table and chair rentals included. (This is among all of the additional add-ons for upgrades—we did the fire pits, which were awesome!)

I know the HMM team deals with multiple weddings at one time and even multiple per weekend, but my now-husband and I always felt like VIPs from our very first meeting. There’s nothing like being greeted with a glass of red wine to plan a wedding after a long day at work!

The wedding day itself went off without a hitch as far as I know. If something didn’t go as planned, I was and am blissfully unaware because everything ran so smoothly. The staff was extremely accommodating to our crazy family of Western New Yorkers and Salvadorans, and I’ve heard from multiple guests (both in English and Spanish!) that they felt like they were at home during our wedding. Kudos to the Mankin team and especially to Paula and Martin Ramirez—they have done a magnificent job with the property and their commitment to excellence is evident in everything that they do.

My husband and I are so grateful for all of the hard work that went into our wedding, and we feel as if we are a part of the HMM family. Thank you for all that you’ve done for us—we are so very appreciative of it!

We could not be more happy with Mankin Mansion!! Not only is the venue beautiful which makes for a great wedding, but the staff goes above and beyond to make the wedding experience memorable. Historic Mankin Mansion was the best decision we could have ever made for a venue. From the start to finish they were prompt, professional, and so very kind. Katie was WONDERFUL. She made everything so smooth, and the amount of detail to the venue was amazing. She also saved the evening when my husband ripped my dress and was right behind with a paperclip to fix the issue. Words cannot describe how beautiful the venue is with the lights and landscape. Also, Eric, our DJ was excellent. Kept the crowd entertained all night.

Wonderful venue from start to finish. Mankin provided everything but the catering and the flowers. From the wedding coordinator to the DJ, everything was top notch and allowed for a seamless, enjoyable and memorable event. Highly recommend.

This was the absolute best wedding venue of all time. The space is magical and romantic. The staff is stupendous. KATIE is literally a goddess. She is so good at what she does multiple people commented on her. The DJ here rocked so hard everyone loved him. They will go out of their way to make your day perfect and wonderful. This place maybe slightly more pricy than others but I cannot stress enough how worth it it is. This place is a gem, truly.

My husband and I got married at Historic Mankin Mansion this past April and it was hands down the best day of our lives. Everything was so wonderful with the help of the Mankin Mansion staff and our planner which was provided through the venue, Katie. We had several meetings with Katie before the big day and she did a great job of communicating with me when I had questions in a timely manner. She also did a great job communicating with my other vendors and confirming all of the details so I didn't have to worry about it. Because of the Mankin Mansion staff, I truly had nothing to worry about on my wedding day other then focusing on having the best day with friends, family, and of course my husband. Our whole wedding party and immediate family also stayed at the mansion the night of our wedding and I am so glad we made the decision to do so. All of the accommodations were fabulous and I have heard so many positive comments from our wedding party. We also had breakfast at the mansion the next morning and it was delicious and a great way to end our experience. This is such a lovely venue with really great staff- I would not change a thing if I could do it all over again. Highly, highly recommended!

My fiancé and I had the perfect wedding at this venue in May. We utilized the overnight package and our family and friends fell in love with this venue as well. The venue offers so much and is truest unique!! Katie and the planning team made our day perfect and Katie was so responsive, organized and guides you through the entire stressful wedding planning experience. There was nothing I would change about our wedding, I only wish that we could relive that perfect day over and over!!!

We got married at HMM on New Years Eve. From the first time I contacted them to the wedding, (and since the wedding!) the staff of the Mansion has been exceptional. Despite going through two transitions with different coordinators, staff were always responsive and helpful. Katie made sure that all of my questions were answered and day of I was completely calm because I knew everything was taken care of Martin, Paula, Katie, and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed for our day.

We got married in the newly renovated gallery, which was breathtaking. our ceremony required no extra decorations. The grounds and main house are also stunning. We are still getting compliments on the venue from our guests. My husband and his groomsmen loved the game room for getting ready.

The Mansion was the perfect place to have our wedding, from the atmosphere and decor to the amazing staff. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

I could not say enough positive about Mankin Mansion!! We had the most perfect wedding here and it would not have been possible without Katie and the staff. DJ Martin was the BEST and kept the guests on the dance floor and having a great time. The day-of was so organized and we received multiple compliments on how well organized and smooth the whole day was from start to finish. If we could do it all over again, we wouldn't change a thing.

I can not possibly say enough amazing things about this property. From the moment we visited the property we knew it was the perfect venue for our special day. My husband and I were planning our wedding from Miami and the entire team went above and beyond to make sure every detail of the day was taken care. They responded to emails quickly, thought about every single detail of the day, asked tons of questions to make sure that on the day of we were totally taken care. My Event Planner Gina was a goddess on the day of our wedding! I forgot to put on my garter and after the DJ announced it was time for my groom to remove it she flew into action and took a ribbon off my flowers to use. No one noticed and it was a perfect alternative. I will forever be grateful for her! The property was simply perfection the day of the wedding and there is just a magical energy surrounding the location. Thank you Mankin Mansion for creating such a beautiful place for couples to enjoy the best day of their life! <3 <3 <3

Love is the right word to use for this magnificent place ?? Us and our guests enjoyed this place so much. We loved how attentive the staff was and the night was perfect. We also couldn't believe how with all the information we told them they didn't forget anything:) all of our friends and family keep asking us to redo everything as it was the best time that they have had in there life.

We looked a lot of places before selecting Mankin Mansion! What the venue provides over other venues in the area made it an easy decision. Working with Kate made the planning process so easy especially since I was planning our wedding across the country. I also could not have been happier how the day turned out! Everything was set up exactly as planned and once we arrived we knew the day was going to run smoothly with the organization of the MM staff. I highly recommend using Mankin Mansion as your wedding venue.

I must have visited The Historic Mankin Mansion at least four times before finally committing because honestly I can be so indecisive but I couldn't deny that there was something about the beauty of the grounds and pleasant staff that caught my attention immediately. We were provided with a nice binder to assist with planning and it even included recommended services such as caterers and photographers. Gina did such an amazing job with keeping me on task with emails and was always prompt to respond to every single question, and trust me there were a lot. Because our wedding party were mostly out of town we were unable to have rehearsal on the planned day but Martin and staff agreed to a quick rehearsal before the wedding which went so well. So fast forward to me sitting in the carriage house which is designated for the bride with absolutely no worries. Gina and staff made sure to go exactly by the plans we discussed at the meetings and everything ran smoothly. Right before the ceremony it began to rain (luckily it stopped) but staff was right on it with making sure chairs were dry for arriving guests and providing umbrellas. Martin did an amazing job with the music throughout the ceremony and the reception as we had discussed and had no problem allowing family members to grab the mic. The staff does an amazing job with decorating the venue how you choose and are even creative and take initiative to make things look that much beautiful. I absolutely loved the effort and dedication and all the "extras" that went into making our day perfect and it was just that. If I had one complaint it would be that it had to end. Our family and friends are still talking about the wonderful time they had and we've received wonderful feedback such as the "wedding of the year" and "best wedding I've ever been to." I would recommend this venue to every bride and groom. We truly had no worries the day of the wedding making it that much special! Thanks so much Mankin Mansion!

Historic Mankin Mansion was the PERFECT location for our wedding. Their experienced staff, Kate, was extremely hands on and made the entire planning process, from an execution standpoint :), a breeze. There is honestly no better place to have your wedding at than the Historic Mankin Mansion! The staff are phenomenal - namely Kate Miller, our main wedding coordinator, and Martin, the owner/DJ. Initially, the draw for most potential couples is the beauty of the venue/grounds; however, once you are officially booked with them, the staff is 100% what makes the lasting impression. Kate was beyond amazing & more wonderful than I could have ever imagined. HMM needs to, without a doubt, keep her around for years to come! She was the perfect combination of personable, patient, accommodating, and professional. Kate makes sure to go above and beyond to help her couples out and is a wonderful communicator. I don't think the whole weekend could have gone any smoother. We were so impressed with how well the coordination of the wedding went, considering it rained from dusk to dawn on our wedding day (which was obviously a huge potential negative at first). However, even though it seemed like a hurdle for them at times, the HMM staff had such awesome, detail-oriented backup plans that the rain wasn't that big of a deal & the staff still kept their heads held high & assumed all stress so we didn't have to. (Especially Kate, again, clearly a rockstar!) In addition, if you book with HMM, you absolutely have to use Martin as your DJ. We had (and continue to receive) countless compliments on Martin & his wonderful DJ-ing abilities. As you can see in many other reviews, he is amazing at what he does & always a crowd favorite. He really did such a great job and strategically kept all guests on the dance floor at all times. Most of our guests said, hands down, our wedding was the best/most fun wedding they have been to. Our wedding at the Historic Mankin Mansion was a breeze because our wedding planner, Gina, was meticulous, careful, thoughtful, and organized. At our first meeting, I was given a pre-organized binder with suggestions and recommendations for every aspect of the wedding, complete with brochures and contact information for all types of officiants, caterers, glam squads, and anything else you can imagine wanting or needing on your wedding day. Gina continued to keep all of my contracts together by personally emailing every single person we booked for the wedding. She worked with us through Skype since we live a state away and asked us many detailed questions to ensure our day was exactly how we wanted it.
At the rehearsal, Gina was very clear so our huge wedding party knew exactly what to do. She even provided us all with a detailed, to-the-minute itinerary for the wedding day, which impressed and calmed me. On the day of the wedding, Gina was so happy and congratulatory, answered all of our consistent and annoying questions without once losing patience, and seemed to be everywhere at once so that everything ran smoothly. She even showed up at the very end of our sparkler send-off waiting for us at the car to congratulate us once more.
Martin did an excellent job by double-checking all of the wedding party's names, playing all of our song choices, and throwing in some of his own to make sure everyone was up, dancing and dancing. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. If our florist's flowers had not been there, it still would have given off a lovely garden feel by itself. I wanted to have my wedding at the HMM because I attended a wedding there 7 years ago. Everything I loved about that wedding was the same for mine 7 years later, indicating their consistency and precision with each and every detail. One of our groomsman later screamed to us while we were dancing, "I'M HAVING MY WEDDING AT THE MANKIN MANSION!"

The staff at the Mansion made the day stress free and so much fun! Our wedding planner, Marylee, was so sweet and helped us plan everything to the smallest detail. The owner, Martin Ramirez, provided all of the music from the ceremony to the reception. The dance floor was packed all night long and people still tell us how much fun they had at our wedding!! The grounds were immaculate and we couldn't have been happier.

My husband and I had our dream wedding at the Historic Mankin Mansion! Our guests could not believe what a beautiful venue we had chosen, from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception. The grounds were well kept and breathtaking, while providing comfort and ease for our guests as our events were on the same grounds. This was very important to us, as many of our guests were from out of town. From the moment we sent our deposit, we were assisted with every step of the planning process. We received a list of highly reviewed vendors and many of them contributed to our perfect wedding experience. We met throughout the year with our Mankin planner, who provided advice when asked, suggestions when needed, and important information that we may have overlooked. Our wedding weekend was purely magical and stress free! Everything was meticulously executed to ensure our fairy tale wedding. If we had to do our wedding all over again, we wouldn't change a thing! The mansion was a great value for our picture perfect day!

I was told about Mankin Mansion from our caterer, and promptly checked them out. When I first met with Martin (the owner) he asked me what the number 1 thing I was looking for in my wedding venue. I told him I didn't want my family running around day-of trying to get things done and a place that was organized. Mankin Mansion accomplished both of these. They provide you with a wedding planning team, and since the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception takes place in the same location it is very easy for you and your guests to have a good time. The grounds are stunning ,and they keep them up year-round. I had to plan my wedding from 2,000 miles away in Texas, and Jocelene our planner was incredible. We Skyped meetings and she was always quick to return phone calls. 3 months before my wedding she gave birth, and at no time during planning did I feel worried that she was distracted. She was on top of things the entire time. Martin was our DJ and kept the reception jumping! He was very talented. Planning a wedding long distance was never stressful thanks to Mankin Mansion. They have so much knowledge in what they do, and are very professional. They take care of so much, and our wedding went off flawlessly. Our guests have told us they have never been to a more beautiful wedding, and how incredible the venue was. I cannot recommend Mankin Mansion enough. Jocelene was so helpful and the entire staff worked as a flawless team. I felt like no matter what happened they would take care of it easily and without stress. They always have a plan B and a plan C ready to go. Mankin Mansion was the most perfect place to get married, and I know that any bride that chooses them will not be disappointed.

Martin and Paula have created the most romantic beautiful setting for a ceremony and reception at Historic Mankin Mansion. They have gone through everything with a very detailed eye and created an amazing environment for a wedding. The planning crew is so wonderful. They take care of everything for you, while still reflecting your own personal style. Everything from planning meetings, to rehearsal, to ceremony, and reception they have it all covered and in an extraordinary way. The planning crew goes above and beyond (and in our case, Kate, took such wonderful care of us)! My husband and I will never be able to thank them enough for providing us with the best wedding ever! We received so many compliments on the wedding venue from guests at our wedding! This is the best wedding venue in richmond by far, and with all that is included the price is more than reasonable! I highly recommend this for a ceremony and reception venue.

The Historic Mankin Mansion was my dream venue. I unfortunately had to move my wedding from May to August due to a car accident, the HMM was so accommodating, and helped me so much with moving my wedding and all my vendors with ease. My wedding planners were Joceline and Gina, both fabulous and professional! My wedding was a true fairytale and everything I dreamed it would be. All our friends and family commented that it was the best wedding they had ever been to! We had our wedding at The Mankin Mansion in May of 2014. It was absolutely gorgeous! Kate, our wedding planner was personable, professional and prompt in responding to emails. The Mankin Mansion is a romantic and absolutely beautiful wedding venue. We did not have to do ANY running around the day of the wedding, the Mankin Mansion took care of everything. Kate, our planner for our dream Historic Mankin Mansion wedding did a fabulous job!! She, along with her amazing team took care of every detail and made the entire weekend perfect for Scott and I!! I am still in awe of the beauty of this venue and the staff who worked together to make our wedding day one that we will cherish forever. The grounds were in perfect condition adorned with beautiful flowers and majestic lighting, and the staff worked hard to make sure the whole weekend went off without a hitch. We stayed on the grounds the entire weekend with our bridal party which made the whole weekend enjoyable. Everything was taken care of for us and I couldn't have asked to work with a better wedding vendor. I do not know how we can thank Kate and her team enough! We also want to thank Paula and Martin for taking the time to make sure our wedding was perfect! We had a bad storm the night of our rehearsal and Martin made sure to be there the morning of the wedding to provide us with the rehearsal we had missed. The most incredible and equisite venue in all of Richmond- what a beautiful backdrop to take pictures and immortalize our wedding. We decided to take the weekend package, which we recommend to all brides because of the convenice of getting ready in the same place as the wedding site. Beyond the beauty of the location, the service of the staff was unparralled and comparable to something we would expect in a 5 Start Hotel. The owners and our wedding coordinator Marylee (provided by the Mansion) did everything possible to make sure every detail was absolutely perfect. Marylee was extremely organized and left no stone unturned, which took a lot of pressure off of us. The DJ (who is one of the owners) is also amazing. He had a great mix of tunes that got all generations off their feet dancing. The mansion has a wonderful list of vendors too - we used their florist, caterer, officiant, hair and makeup, and cakery who all pulled through for us to create the most magical day of our lives. All in all, I would highly recommend this location to any couple!

The Historic Mankin Mansion was truly everything we could have imagined for our wedding!! From the very first day when Martin took us on a tour of the property, we knew this was it. We also had Martin as the DJ on our wedding night, and he really did an amazing job as our guests were dancing the entire night!! The wedding planning team did an incredible job to help keep us on track, and especially Kate, who coordinated the entire day of our wedding. We had both the ceremony and the reception at the Mansion and both parts of the property are equally as beautiful. The areas for the bride and groom to get ready in prior to the ceremony were also really great. The groom's area is filled with games, tv's, couches, you name it. The bridal area was perfect, and even fit our huge wedding party!! We had SO many compliments from our guests about the venue and would most certainly recommend this venue!!

I can't begin to express how amazing my wedding was at the Mankin Mansion. They treated me like gold and nothing went wrong on my wedding day thanks to my wedding team, or at least that I know of! Jocelene, my main wedding planner, was on point with everything that needed to be taken care of the minute I set foot in the mansion on my wedding day and before with setting up times with my vendors.
From day one, they were in contact with me and my parents (since I was a lucky bride and they paid for it!) with every little detail. Martin was a wonderful DJ and was so patient with me and my fiance as we had a diffcicult time narrowing down a list of songs! We love music so this was a hard part. We wanted everyone to dance and they did! Martin had them on the dance floor all night and my guests loved that!! My guests, even now say how beautiful the place was and how smooth everything went. All I wanted to was to "not worry" on my wedding day and they take the worrying out of it so all you do is have fun and get married!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my wedding day the most special day I could have hoped for!

Everyone on the Historic Mankin Mansion team was wonderful. I did have a rainy wedding day, but that did not stop the show. We were given plenty of time to make a "rainy day" decision. All of our guests that stayed on site in the mansion cottages loved every ounce of detail. The beds were marvelous, the food delicious, and the music was outstanding. Martin is great all the way around. Kate was great, Mary Ellen was great. Our entire team for Chris and Iesha Adams' wedding Aug 2013 were all outstanding. Thank you for making our day special.

Historic Mankin Mansion was an amazing venue!! Their staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgable throughout the entire planning process. One of the most appealing aspects they offered was their package that include ceremony site, reception site, tent, tables, chairs, and the DJ. This made alot of decisions much simpler :) Also, the grounds are stunning! When the sun went down, the magic of the venue really showed. The lights were all throughout the gardens, and the tent couldn't have been more beautifully illuminated. Martin was an excellent DJ and got the crowd dancing and celebrating our special day. So many of our guests said it was one of the nicest weddings they had ever been too. We were so glad Historic Mankin Mansion is the place where we started the rest of our lives together.

We got married on September 14, 2013 at Historic Mankin Mansion. I am beyond words of how perfect everything was! This venue is all around perfect, wonderful, stress free, and full of love! When we booked Mankin Mansion about a year and half out, Martin asked me what was the one thing I wanted most out of my wedding, I replied with to marry my best friend and be stress- free. The Mansion staff made sure to make that happen. For a bride to not be stressed out the day of her wedding... that right there says ALOT.

Being able to have the grounds all weekend was so convenient. I didn't have to worry about any of the bridal party being late or getting lost. Being able to completely turn the grounds into your own, was wonderful. From being able to choose music to simply having a romantic setting set up the night you become husband and wife.

The planning team is amazing! Kate was my planner, who was absolutely the best. She had everything together and flowing perfect. There was not one thing that went wrong. Waking up and seeing your wedding actually come together is the best part. Knowing all you have to do is laugh, smile, and relax with your bridesmaids the day of was such a feeling of relief. When one of my venders was late, Kate knew something was wrong and was on top of it right away. Again, the staff at Mankin Mansion does anything in their power to put on your Special day without a hiccup! I think they even have something worked out to get the weather absolutely PERFECT for your special day!

Almost two months later and I am still getting SO many compliments on how beautiful and perfect our wedding was!! All my friends keep raving about how I set the bar so high, and just how fun everything was. Music, lights, flow of events, and the rooms are beautiful! Thank you so much for making my dream wedding come true and forever looking back on the day and just smiling! PERFECT!

My experience with the Mankin Mansion was nothing less than extraordinary. We were fortunate to have my parents book the venue for the entire weekend. No detail was left undone. To my complete surprise, even the details that I thought of spur-of-the-moment during the planning process were taken care of - even if I had forgotten! Also, on the wedding day I had an idea that I forgot to mention previously - I told Kate (my planner included in the weekend) and she made it happen 30 minutes later. The Mansion staff truly make you feel like the most important person in the world. I can't imagine my wedding day without the Mankin Mansion. I live in San Diego and the Mansion is in Richmond. Even though I was planning across the country, there was never an issue with communication and I always felt confident in what was going on. Kate, my planner, was WONDERFUL. She thoroughly listened to everything I had to say and made it happen. All in all, the Mansion was the perfect venue - from the planning to the staff to the event details!

My husband and I are completely convinced that there just isn't another wedding venue in Richmond that compares to The Mankin Mansion.

The Mankin Mansion is worth the cost, and if you ask us, it is a STEAL for all that comes with choosing this gorgeous venue. With the Mansion you get a wedding planner/coordinator who handles almost everything for you. When you hire a vendor (florist, caterer, photographer), the contract goes to your Mankin Mansion planner, and she will make sure they know the schedule and what you want, so once you do the hiring the stress is out of your hands. We got to enjoy our engagement instead of worry and stress over the details.

They also take care of all the decor the day of the wedding, so when you arrive at the Mansion you get to see everything set up and pretty and you just get to relax. I can't tell you how many weddings we have spent setting up/tearing down for the bride and groom. It was SO NICE to not work our friends and family AT ALL for this wedding. We wanted it to be just as special and happy for them, too, and it was!

The DJ/MC Martin is a part of the package, and guests from our wedding are still talking about how flawless and fun he is! As the bride, I can tell you I loved him. He got the idea of what we wanted and ran with it. He also made sure everything flowed throughout the night. He also does all of the lighting in the tent, which made for very cool pictures and atmosphere!

Choosing the Mansion made our engagement so much less stressful, and we just felt so so so happy and taken care of on our wedding day, that I can't say ENOUGH about the Mansion. After our wedding, our photographer wrote on her blog that The Mansion is "the place to get married in Richmond." She, along with several of our other vendors, were so impressed by the beauty and consideration of the Mankin Mansion. We also now have many engaged friends who have put the Mankin Mansion at the top of their lists. We highly, HIGHLY recommend it! :)

Our daughter Megan was married on May 11, 2013, and there was no detail not attended to by the Mankin Mansion professionals. The facility was immaculately prepared, the staff was professional, enthusiastic, energized and cheerful for the events of the evening.
To say I was impressed with the caring and concern of your entire staff is an understatement, but I must single out one person specifically.
Jocelene is a true professional and it really shows when it come to “crunch time”. I truly cannot speak highly enough of her efforts in making Megan’s wedding truly special that guaranteed a lifetime of memories. Heck, I think she even had a hand in controlling the weather. (That turne out perfect as well!)
She was always a delight to work and speak with, she knows her business, and she was responsive to our every need or request. Her efforts throughout the day and evening were admirable.
I would not hesitate for one second to highly recommend Historic Mankin Mansion to anyone seeking a wedding venue for their own daughter or son!

I cannot imagine getting married anywhere but the Mankin Mansion. It was so amazing to have a Jocelene as a wedding planner to help throughout the process keeping me on task. Also, the planning team was amazing throughout the night, and kept the flow of the night going without a hitch. I didn't have to think of anything except enjoying the night!=) We had a TON of complements regarding the venue. People said it was the perfect, vintage location for the wedding. Martin, the owner, was the DJ, and I had several people tell me he was the best DJ they have ever seen. All in all, extremely pleased, and I had the best day ever!

There truly are not words to express the level of service provided by each and every member of the staff at The Historic Mankin Mansion. Throughout the planning of our wedding, I got to know each member of the staff, and on a very personal level. This relationship with the staff was one of the most enjoyable parts of the wedding. On my special day, I was surrounded not just by loved ones, but also by friends within the staff who were there to provide a big smile before I walked down the aisle. This, combined with the stunning amount of organization and preparation put into every detail of the wedding…well, it just doesn’t get any better. Another very neat aspect of the mansion is that they are always adding new, visually aesthetic items to the mansion’s grounds. We just recently got married here and we loved everything about it! From the time I saw the picturs online to the first time I set foot on the grounds We knew we had to have our wedding here. Paula and Martin were attentive, helpful, and accomadating from the get go. Mary-Catherine, our wedding planner, was insightful and an absolute blast to work with! She made the whole process easy and less stressful for me. She took care of everything and was there if I need advice or just to bounce ideas off someone. I cant picture getting married any other place. The grounds are simply gorgeous and it truly was everything we ever dreamed of and more!

My husband and I had a feeling after just looking at the website that we would fall in love with Mankin Mansion immediately. We were right. Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the owners and wedding planner were amazing. I always felt comfortable asking for tweaks here and there. Longer reception, earlier ceremony and what not. The wedding planner helped flesh out my vision for a vintage-y themed wedding with peacock colors of all things. She took my ideas and suggestions and went above and beyond.

We booked the Mansion for the entire weekend and I was able to share leisurely breakfasts with my family and out of town bridesmaids who stayed on the property as well. The Saturday morning massage was a great way to start my wedding day.

The weekend went to fast but I will always count it as one of the best weekends of my life and I would do it all over again there at Mankin.

This place is SO AMAZING!! I got married in October and it was beautiful. You will not be disapointed with the venue, the owners or the wedding consultant. They truly love what they do, they are so professional and welcoming. It I could use more than 5 stars I would!!

We just had our wedding about a month ago and couldn't dream of it being any better! Everything was coordinated beyond what I expected and I am convinced they knew more about my wedding than I did! Everyone was especially kind and professional to work with, and the location and setting are a spectacular place to have your special day. I would wish the experience on everyone who goes through wedding planning as they are extremely helpful and make the event truly stress-free. I highly recommend the Historic Mankin Mansion to anyone who wants a relaxed, beautiful and fun wedding.

I have to say, I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else other than the Mankin Mansion. From the beginning to end, the Mankin Mansion staff provided all the help we needed to provide us and our guest with the best service possible. They were very accommodating to the special request from my wife and I. They gave us great ideas that made the event more exciting. The staff is very organized and ensures that everything that should be done is completed. The grounds are beautiful, so our photographer and videographer loved the event. Our cater found the staff easy to work with.

The most important point is my wife, our friends, family, and I loved the event and working with the Mankin Mansion Family.

We recently had our wedding reception at the Mansion and absolutely loved it. Our family and friends had the best time and enjoyed to comfortable and elegant atmosphere. What was even better than the environment were the owners and staff who treated both my husband and I like royalty. I wish we could do it all again.

From the reviews I have read they are all seem to be from the bride's point of view, but here are my thoughts as the Mother of the Bride....

Our daughter found the Historic Mankin Mansion when she was doing her search of venues, and arranged for a visit while my husband and I were out of the country. She fell in love with the venue and the staff at her first meeting. She arranged an appointment for my husband and I when we returned. Upon driving onto the grounds my husband was sold, Martin didn't have to say much and we were reaching for our checkbook to make our deposit. We decided on the weekend long event. Within a few weeks the coordinator contacted our daughter and the planning began. Shortly after their initial meeting, the coordinator left to become a mom and Mary-Catherine came on board. She's an angel in human form.

Mary-Catherine arranged a meeting with us, went through a long checklist, sent us a time line and 'to-do' list. Her actions kept us organized. She dealt with our vendors, made arrangements for deliveries and returns of items we needed for our weekend. Mary-Catherine was always quick to respond to emails or calls when I had questions or needed to know how to deal with a particularly sticky problem. Knowing the business like she does, she was quick to give me a few solutions from which to choose.

As the date of our event rapidly approached, the plan to have us deliver EVERYTHING to HMM had me a bit hyperventilating, but I love the method to the madness. We were only missing two items, one was being framed and the other was just an "I forgot to bring...." Now we had two days to get anything forgotten together and bring with us on Friday.

When we checked in, we truly had nothing to do but sit back, relax and let the event take place. The HMM staff made sure everything was were it was supposed to be, when it was supposed to be there and were quick to help if we needed any little thing. The minute I tried to do something, a staff member was right there to take care of what ever little thing it was.

The wedding and reception went off without a hitch! I still trying to think of something that went wrong, but I can't come up with a thing. Most of our guest were impressed with the beauty of the grounds and the seamlessness of the entire event.

Sunday brought about an easy leave for all of us. The staff organized everything that was theirs, our vendors and ours into different locations and all we had to do was load up our cars.

I cannot thank Martin, Paula, Mary-Catherine, and the staff enough for such a wonderful event. I made the statement, "If I had another daughter, we'd be right back at HMM." I have a very intelligent daughter to have choosen the right venue for her day.

I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful it was to work with the staff at Mankin. My now husband and I live out of state, and they made the planning much easier than I could have ever expected. It was such a relief to know that things were being taken care of for us during our absence. Marylee was especially a delight to work with!

The grounds are beautiful, and there are many spots for bridal portraits and various wedding photos.

Having the ceremony and the reception at the same place was important to us. It was so easy to go from wedding to drinks and dinner and dancing... Mankin helped us block off some hotels in the area, and organized transport to and from, so we didn't have to worry about friends and family driving after a few cocktails.

The location is in very close proximity to the Richmond airport, which was another plus for us. We had many people flying in to attend our wedding, and we wanted to make it as convenient for them as possible.

Paula and Martin have really created a beautiful setting. We loved everything about our wedding there.

It was really important to us that we found a venue that would fit our style and personality. Equally important was finding a place that would make our guests feel comfortable and impressed all at the same time. With half of our guest list coming from New York and New Jersey, we wanted to make sure that our wedding had a taste of southern charm. We found all of this and more at the Historic Mankin Mansion.

From the moment we arrived for our first tour of Mankin Mansion, we were impressed beyond words. The grounds are amazing, the accommodations are charming and romantic, and the prices reasonable for the amount of services included. Also, upon meeting the owners, Martin and Paula Ramirez, we were sure that our wedding would be in very capable hands. This was the first venue we had visited, and we went to several more to be certain we were making an informed decision. In the end, there was no comparison. Mankin had everything we wanted and more. We chose the wedding weekend package and began planning our day.

The planning went flawlessly, Mary-Catherine Berry and Paula Ramirez worked with us and our vendors every step of the way. No detail was overlooked, and they were always one step ahead of us in the planning. It was such a great feeling to know our wedding day was being planned so meticulously. They were always available to answer any question or concern. Paula also has such a calm and knowledgeable air about her that it's hard to remain stressed about anything because you know you're in good hands.

Like any bride and groom, we were a bit frazzled the days leading up to our wedding. But the moment we pulled up to the mansion all of that anxiety left and never returned. Our entire bridal party was staying at the mansion and had already checked in. It was so amazing to see our friends and family members walking around the grounds and welcoming us there!

The staff was waiting to check everyone in, answer any questions, and help with getting our out of town guests settled in. Everyone was amazed at how beautiful the place was, how immaculate the grounds were, and how professional and courteous Martin and Paula were in dealing with everyone's arrivals.

Everything went off perfectly. Our rehearsal, the dinner afterward, the long night of family visiting and having fun were all just perfect. The staff was so attentive and every detail was tended to quickly and smoothly. The opening night of our wedding weekend set the stage for what was to be the perfect wedding day.

The wedding day began with a wonderful breakfast - all orchestrated so the bride and her bridesmaids could eat and then the groom and his groomsmen - as we didn't want to see each other until the ceremony. The day was relaxing with friends and family popping in and out - the guys playing games and the girls being pampered. It was so perfect to just be in one place, and everyone able to relax and enjoy the day without worries of running around and having places to be.

Once it was time to begin our wedding, the staff, the grounds, the participants were all ready and knew exactly where to be and what was expected. The ceremony went off perfectly, and the reception was amazing. The staff couldn't have been more professional and attentive. Every little detail was in place exactly as we had planned it, and any issue dealt with immediately.

She says:
"At one point, someone spilled a drink down my arm (thankfully white wine) and within a literal blink of an eye, one of the mansion staff was there with a towel. I didn't really even have time to register what happened before all evidence of the spill was erased. I just went back to dancing, but I would later think about how amazing it was that I was so carefully attended to - without even knowing it!"

He says:
"I planned a surprise song to sing to her with our band. I worked with both Mankin and the band to make sure that when it was time for me to sing, she was there to hear it. Martin personally went over and got her by the arm when I got on stage. He made certain that my bride was there to hear the first words of what will forever be "our song". Details like this don't escape the staff at Mankin."

Later in the evening, we were standing up by the mansion, looking down at the grounds and the tent and saw people dancing on the dance floor and others chatting at the tables and still others laughing on the lawn and our aunt said to us - "You need to take a moment and look and soak it all in. Your wedding is the most amazing party we have ever been to. It's like something out of a movie". We smiled because she was absolutely right.

We could go on and one about every detail - but for the sake of this review every bride and groom should know that if you book your wedding at Mankin - all of your plans will be executed just the way you want them. You will be able to enjoy your day because dedicated staff will do anything to make sure things go just the way you dreamt them.

I don't even know where to start. How do you even begin to thank an entire venue for making your wedding day even happier, easier and more beautiful than you ever thought possible?

The owner Paula thought of every detail so I didn't have to. She went above and beyond, even adding some gorgeous personal touches to the site to compliment the wedding look. Her heart is as beautiful as her smile!

The owner/DJ Martin knew just the right song for every moment and got the guests dancing all night. The new lighting he brought in was gorgeous. Put simply, he rocks.

And the coordinator Mary-Catherine was my angel. Every time I needed something, she was already standing next to me, as if by magic. She calmed me down with one look, and I knew I didn't have to worry about anything with her in charge. She even wore orange and green to match my colors! She made the day more than perfect.

Thank you to all the Historic Mankin Mansion staff who made everything run seamlessly! I won't ever forget it!

I always dreamed of my wedding day and how I wanted it to be perfect. I have to say that it was the perfect day and that was thanks to Martin and Paula at the mansion. We had several meeting before the wedding and went over every single detail about my big day. Martin and Paula were very professional and remembered every single thing we talked about. On the big day I was able to relax and enjoy every minute with my friends and family on the grounds. The ceremony was perfect in every way! The reception was even better! The intro's that we recorded with Martin were perfect. The ones for our mothers and fathers brought tears to everyones eyes and the ones for our friends made everyone laugh. We made so many memories that night! The honeymoon suite was amazing. They made it so romantic inside of there when we returned to the room. My friends and family still talk about the mansion to this day. They talk about how it was the most beautiful place they have ever been for a wedding and how everything was smooth and perfect. I can not thank Martin and Paula enough for making our wedding day the perfect day that they will NEVER forget!! Thank you both! I strongly suggest this wedding resort for anyone who wants a perfect and stress free wedding weekend! :)

When we toured Historic Mankin Mansion we instantly fell in love with the venue and the staff! The mansion is a hidden charm and it is unlike any wedding venue I have ever been to. The staff keeps the grounds immaculate and they update the flowers with every season! The staff treated us like a family and let us come tour and walk the grounds as often as we wanted(which was a lot!!) My husband and I had a vision for our wedding day, but they far exceeded what we ever could have imagined! They gave us our fairytale wedding! The day of the wedding we were stress free and able to relax and enjoy getting ready with our family and friends. All of the set up was taken care of and every detail was made better than I was able to explain. The ceremony was flawless thanks to the VERY detailed wedding planner, DJ, and event staff! The reception was a big party and Martin the DJ played all the right music we had discussed in our planning meetings and made it a fun night for everyone. Our wedding was the best day of our lives and we have the staff and Historic Mankin Mansion to thank and I will forever be grateful of them!!

If you aim to be a happy, relaxed, stress-free bride... then get married at Historic Mankin Mansion!! They will do everything in their power to make sure your wedding day is PERFECT... and they always make you feel like it is YOUR day and that YOU are their #1 priority. Even when planning and having meetings prior to the wedding, they make you feel special and important (even though they are planning lots of special days for other people at the same time!) The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are charming, and the location is convenient. I honestly don't know WHAT I would have done if I had gotten married anywhere else. I know I wouldn't have thought to have 100 umbrellas on hand if it started to pour on my guests (but they had them handy...) or who would have walked my elderly grandfather down the aisle when no other family members were around (paula did it, without missing a beat!)... it's those little things that truly make Historic Mankin Mansion a one-of-a-kind venue that is worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY! My parents booked the Historic Mankin Mansion for my wedding without me or my husband to be even seeing it. It just so happened that that day I had sent them an email to go in check the place out.

They fell in love with the venue right away and were certain that I would too. They were 100% right. One could not have asked for a better venue, experience and most of all staff when it comes to The Historic Mankin Mansion.

Paula and Martin and Marylee instantly welcomed us into the mansion and shared our wedding joy and excitement with us. They were 100% on the ball with every detail of the wedding planning and were there to answer every question that we did not even know we had.

It was such a blessing to have Martin as our DJ because he really made the entire reception run so smooth and stress free. The HMM knows the wedding industry so well and they know how to make your most important day run exactly as it should....with out a hitch.

I feel that the HMM is such a hidden treasure. The attention to detail and to every person there must be noted too. Everyone feels special walking the grounds.

I still miss my wedding day. I felt like I had made life long friends with the entire staff and every vendor and only hope that future couples can experience the love and joy this venue exudes.

There is no red tape here and no inappropriate noise restrictions.

I would 100% urge a future bride and groom to host their event here. All the best to the Historic Mankin Staff...you guys really are wonderful!!!

This venue is amazing, and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone! I have been involved in several events here, and I do not believe I've ever encountered professionals in this field to portray such high standards. Between windy weather at one event and nearly 2 feet of snow at another, Paula and Martin could not have been more accommodating. I am hosting an event at Mankin Mansion in the fall, and there is no other place I would rather have it. The atmosphere is remarkable and the hospitality is superior. If you are creating memories to remember for a lifetime, this is the place you want to be.

I can't think of another place in Richmond that offers the service and care for their clients that HMM provides. The weekend was WONDERFUL! The owners and staff made every transition seamless and offered services beyond the typical wedding venue. I highly recommend HMM!

I was very doubtful that I'd find a place in Richmond to fit all of my wedding dreams. Surprisingly, The Historic Mankin Mansion met them all!! My husband and I wanted an "all-in-one" type of place and we got just that. The mansion allowed us to have our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception without driving around different parts of Richmond. What's even better is that they had enough space for us to house all of our out of town wedding attendants for the entire weekend; creating a real bed and breakfast feel for us and our friends. They took such special care of every detail and made the entire weekend relaxing, beautiful and unforgettable!

We didn't live in VA the time of our wedding, so it was important for us to meet with the mansion staff during times we were in town. Even if they weren't "open" when we were available, they made special arrangements for us to visit the site and meet with Marylee, the wedding coordinator.

I cannot give the mansion staff enough praise! Paula and Martin obviously know what they're doing and Marylee has to be one of the sweetest ladies on this earth. They made the weekend come together with what appeared to be very little effort.

My family also loved this location so much that my twin sister has her eyes set on it as a future wedding site :) It'll be great to recreate such wonderful memories at the same place where I got married on my sister's wedding day :)

This place is amazing! They are so wonderful! The owners (Martin and Paula) and staff took care of every little detail. Our families were able to sit back and relax the entire weekend. My family can be difficult at times but they had such a great time.

Our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner was wonderful. We were able to enjoy a slideshow in the main common area with 50 of our closest friends and families. The owners and coordinator took such great care of us and the dinner was fantastic. We partied until 10pm in the common areas.

The day of the wedding went so smooth. We were able to enjoy the day without having to run around to get things done. The staff took care of placing everything where I wanted it. They made sure that all the vendors were taken care of and there on time. I was able to get ready in the suite and enjoy the day with my bridesmaids and Mom. My husband loved the "man cave" with all the great fun. He loves poker so he fit right into the poker room just fine.

During the ceremony and reception the staff and owners were so hands on. They coordinated the entire event making everything seemless. They made sure everything was on time. The guests, family, and bridal party were taken care of. We danced, ate, and enjoyed our guests. It could not have been any better. Our day was the best day of our lives! We could not thank the owners enough!

Our family has used the Historic Mankin Mansion for several events. We held the 50th Anniversary celebration of our family business there in the outside tent area. Paula and Martin were excellent hosts. They had everything we needed available, including a projector for "memories" of our family of employees over the past 50 years, music, podiums for the guest book and memento portraits. There was valet parking, brief tours of the facility (since many of the guests remembered the Mansion when it was a brickyard) and everything was perfect. Even though it was a very windy day in March, they were constantly in attendance making sure the tables stayed in place and the guests were ok.

We have also had a bridal shower in the parlor (with about 40 people in attendance) for my daughter's best friend,which was so elegant. Again, every detail attended to perfectly by the staff. Gifts arrayed on the grand piano, white tablecloths decorated with floral centerpieces, a shower every bride dreams about!

This past January, we held a baby shower for my youngest daughter. Of course it was the weekend of the big snow! When we arrived to set up, Martin and Paula had ALL the walkways cleared, valet parking for those who were uncomfortable in the snow and the shower went on as if the snow wasn't even there. Again, the room was perfect, all the guests were in awe of the facilities and the service we received. As a bonus, the gardens were glorious in the snow! At the end of the shower, they even let us store the large carpet my daughter received as a gift until we could get back in better weather to pick it up.

I have attended several business functions and weddings at Historic Mankin Mansion. They were always top notch. Everything was arranged perfectly, easily accessible, and the service of all the staff was impeccable. These people know their business!

We are planning another baby shower in October. Once again I have every confidence that it will be just as perfect as the other events we have booked there. Paula and Martin have become like family to us. We even invite them to our events. Whenever we are there, every need is anticipated, even before we realize we are in need! They are always checking to see if things are perfect or immediately available at the push of a button. If there is something we have forgotten, they are ready to help. I cannot imagine any better venue, any better service or more cherished memories.

I cannot give any higher recommendation for any wedding/event site in the Richmond area. It may cost slightly more, but it is definitely worth it.

Thank you so much to Martin and Paula for all their hard work, for bringing this gorgeous mansion back to life and for making all our special events days that we and our guests will always remember!
