Our Dream Venue

Our wedding at Historic King Mansion was everything we hoped for and more. JDK could not have done a better job bringing our vision to life. Everyone was so lovely to work with and truly wanted us to have the day we had always dreamed of. The mansion is gorgeous inside and out and served as the perfect backdrop for our wedding. Our guests raved about the venue, food and friendly staff. Historic King Mansion and JDK truly made our day one we will cherish forever.

An Amazing Wedding and Event Space!

I’ve attended multiple events at Historic King Mansion, and it’s such an amazing wedding and event space! Each room has been beautifully restored, from the elegant grand staircase which guests see as soon as they walk through the door, to the bride’s suite, groom’s room, parlor, and main ballroom. The interior of the mansion is the perfect blend of classic and contemporary—it has a high-end, timeless style, but also a casual, intimate feel. The outside of the mansion is also stunning, with wonderful photo opportunities on majestic second-story balconies and terraces overlooking the Susquehanna River! I frequently attend events at the finest venues in Washington, DC, and King Mansion can compete with any of them! King Mansion has taken weddings in Harrisburg and Central PA to a whole new level, and I'll definitely be considering it for my own celebration in the days ahead!

Amazing experience for our wedding!

We got married here in September and truly had the best experience. From the beginning, Annie was organized and so helpful. Throughout the process Annie and team helped us navigate the stress of wedding planning seamlessly. The Mansion was a gorgeous venue, we barely had to invest in any decor because it was already so beautiful. Our guests raved about the location, food, ambiance, and overall organization of the day. We had an outside ceremony on the lawn which was beautiful and dance the night away in the ballroom. We could not be happier with our experience. Truly 10/10!

Charming venue with updated features

This is a fantastic venue. It has the charm of an historic home with updated, modern finishes on the inside. We opted to have our wedding ceremony outside, and the reception in the ballroom. We particularly liked there are rooms with comfortable seating for guests to chat and enjoy throughout the night. It also offers very scenic views of the river for sunset photos. I highly recommend!

Gorgeous!!!!

King Mansion in Harrisburg is absolutely gorgeous. It fulfilled every single dream I had for our wedding day. I got so many compliments on how gorgeous the mansion was!! It's a great option for summer weddings especially - we were able to have an outdoor ceremony but had air conditioning available for cocktail hour/reception. The rooms are gorgeous as you walk through and there is a very spacious separate bridal and grooms suites for everyone to hang out in the morning of! I can't forget about the GORGEOUS balconies that overlook the river. This venue made all my dreams come true!!

Amazing venue

We had our wedding at the King Mansion in Harrisburg, with Abby as our JDK wedding coordinator. She was organized, communicated well to address our concerns, and was very professional. The food was amazing, and the staff during our wedding were professional, led by Todd, our event manager. Overall, we were extremely pleased with Abby and JDK, and would highly recommend this venue and caterer!

Best Modern Gatsby Venue there is!

We were floored in the best way when we walked into the Historic King Mansion! The inside and outside are both stunning, and the layout was exactly what we wanted. In addition to a beautiful ballroom, there are ample parlor rooms for guests to mingle and chat. We loved this for our guests who prefer not to dance; the parlor rooms gave everyone a space where they could actually have conversations and take a break from the dance party in the ballroom. No shouting or not being able to hear each other! The furniture is stunning and both the bridal and groom's suite are beautifully decorated. We loved that the groom's suite was actually sizable. SO many venues shut the grooms in a closet! The best way I've describe King Mansion is as a modernized Gatsby dream!

Any concerns we had about food (we originally wanted to compare caterers) were blown way by JDK's catering. The food was incredible, and many guests have raved about their meals. It all came out timely and served hot, with a wide variety of offerings. It. Was. Fantastic! The tasting was great as well (JDK made it a cute "date night" for many couples) and we so wish we could do it again! For our wedding, we even did a Pittsburgh Cookie Table and they made it beautiful!

We worked with Abby who actually suggested that we do black table cloths and it was perfect. She was incredibly helpful in bringing my ideas to life. Brooke with floral was incredible and worked with us to make the centerpieces and wedding arch gorgeous! All teams we used through this venue (venue management, catering, and floral) were highly responsive and communicative. This was the perfect space for our wedding and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Historic King Mansion was absolutely our dream wedding venue and did not disappoint! JDK did a wonderful job of coordinating and executed our vision perfectly. Since JDK manages the venue and is the exclusive caterer, we felt like everything was so seamless and stress free. We were so well taken care of.
The venue itself is so romantic and provides a lot of different opportunities for great photos. We loved that there is a lot of seating and different spaces within the mansion for our guests to mingle. JDK set up bar tables and the most beautiful displays which added to the atmosphere of our beautiful day. Our guests also raved about the food, and we loved the amount of options that were available to choose from!
If you’re thinking about booking your wedding here, absolutely do it.

Wedding of your dreams!

The exquisite Historic King Mansion was the setting of my daughter's wedding. The beautiful venue, JDK Catering, and Venue Event Specialist, Julianna provided my daughter and son in-law the wedding of their dreams. It was a perfect day from start to finish. In person the mansion is even more impressive than in pictures.

Beautiful Picture Location

My now husband and I decided early on that we wanted a cocktail style wedding where our family & friends could mingle while enjoying their food & drink. The mansion has a designated caterer/event coordination, the JDK Group. They executed our cocktail style wedding that included several food stations (for example: pierogi station, hanging pretzel wall, slider station, charcuterie & cheese board), his & her drinks and ensured the flow of the event was seamless and interesting. We had wanted a venue with multiple rooms & options to flow throughout as well as an indoor/outdoor option. The mansion provides a designated reception space but also allows the guests to move throughout the sitting rooms and outside on the porch. Our wedding was to be an outdoor wedding on the lawn, but it had rained that day, so our ceremony was moved indoors, and the set-up was beautiful and intimate. The mansion also lends itself as a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos that also includes views and photo opportunities of the Susquehanna River. Perfect Venue for Our Wedding!!!

My husband and I are very appreciative of the team at Historic King Mansion!!! We decided to change venues three months before our scheduled wedding date due to COVID restrictions and they were flexible and accommodating! The venue was understanding of our dilemma and made me feel so much better after working together on a rescheduled date. It is recently renovated and absolutely gorgeous! Just take a chance and check it out; you will not be disappointed! We worked with Molly who was very knowledgeable on general questions we had during the wedding planning. JDK is the caterer and their food is the best (we still get compliments from guests to this day). Seriously such a perfect day!! Highly recommend to everyone!

King Mansion!! Best Wedding Ever!!

Michelle!! from the minute we met her at the mansion to see if it was a venue that would work, from the rehearsal to the wedding day was sooo friendly and helpful. On the day or our wedding, she was brilliant, helping with last minute details, ensuring everything was perfect and I truly cannot imagine a more perfect venue for our family. Plenty of easy parking, beautiful, stunning views of the river, plenty of space, beautiful landscaping...
I did get nervous regarding pics, our photog worked around the mansion perfectly..
The mansion provided a lovely bridal suite, high hooks for my dress (we had to steam it). Very thoughtful detail. My guests were thrilled with the service of JDK catering, which I assume (and hope they use)
I cannot express enough, just how thoughtful and thorough King mansion made our wedding so spectacular
Truly Brilliant.... I'm a chef at a Yacht Club in Martha's Vineyard. I've seen a lot of weddings, place settings, ect. Highly recommend Kings Mansion!!
I loved that I could privately see guests arrival, I may have cried twice as much, but it was great to see! We also had a room reserverd for kids. It wasn't utilized as much as we thought, but its good, as the kids were having fun with their parents under the tent! It came in handy for my flower girls though!!!
We will forever hold King Mansion fondly in our hearts!!

Perfect venue for any celebration!

We had our company holiday party at Historic King Mansion and it was absolutely amazing! The mansion is gorgeous and the ballroom made the perfect location to host the dinner, a video/presentation to celebrate the employees, as well as dancing after dinner wrapped up. In addition to the ballroom, the other rooms available allowed the guests to meander around with a cocktail in hand to enjoy the other activities our company had available for us to enjoy. I 100% recommend Historic King Mansion for anyone looking to host their party, wedding, or any other celebration!

Wedding Reception

The King Mansion was the perfect space for our wedding reception! I have been driving past it since my now-husband and I started dating, telling him that it was where our wedding would be and I am so glad we did! The location on the water is absolutely stunning. We loved that it had parking for guests as well as an easy area for our trolley to drop off guests. The different rooms allowed our guests to enjoy the band and dance or sit in quieter rooms for conversation. We worked with Julianna from JDK and she was exceptional at bringing our vision to life! JDK catering was also perfect- we have gotten so many compliments on our food and their service was impeccable. We could not recommend King Mansion more!

Venue of our dreams

Our wedding at the Historic King Mansion was an absolute dream come true. This venue is a perfect blend of vintage glamour and modern simplicity, creating an enchanting atmosphere that exceeded all our expectations. The beauty of the mansion itself left us in awe, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how stunning it was. One highlight of our experience was renting the Evans Inn next door. I would 1000% recommend it to any couple considering it. Being just steps away from the venue, it offered a tranquil and relaxing escape. We hosted our rehearsal dinner there, and it was nothing short of perfect. Cheryl and Marc, who oversee the operations, were fantastic to work with. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our experience was seamless and memorable made a significant impact on our wedding weekend. One highlight of our experience was renting the Evans Inn next door. I would 1000% recommend it to any couple considering it. Being just steps away from the venue, it offered a tranquil and relaxing escape. We hosted our rehearsal dinner there, and it was nothing short of perfect. Cheryl and Marc, who oversee the operations, were fantastic to work with. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our experience was seamless and memorable made a significant impact on our wedding weekend. Disappointing Communication and Service

This review would be less stars, however the bartenders and food staff were excellent.

Management and coordinators leave a lot to be desired. I am writing this review as I am 100% positive my wife has much more to say. The one MASSIVE thing that I would like other couples to know is that our JDK wedding coordinator let us know at 4:20 she was leaving for another event. We were getting married at 4:30. We were never told about this prior, it came as a complete shock right before we walked the aisle. No other coordinator was on site and we were left high and dry. Someone showed up and introduced themselves to us after our ceremony and vows.

Between the event above, a few others (including the heat blasting in the reception area with no one knowing how to get the AC on), and JDK's horrible communication we were so disappointed.

I never leave reviews (as someone in the service industry) but other couples need to know that our experience with King Mansion / JDk was not a good one at all.
