Not only is this venue beautiful and historic, it is run by the nicest, most flexible and accommodating people I have ever met. Not a single thing about working with them was stressful or unpleasant, it was completely smooth sailing and easily the least stressful part of planning and executing the wedding.
This venue is gorgeous. I always wanted a wedding in the woods and then a reception under string lights and that is exactly what I got. We also did our rehearsal the day before in the Magnolia room and it was so lovely. The prices are VERY reasonable, especially when compared to other venues that charge more and offer way less. Anything I asked they were happy to help with, so much of the credit for how well the wedding went goes to them.
If I had to do it all again I would not hesitate to work with them again. If anyone is looking for a lovely garden wedding, this is the place. I would reccomend it to anyone who is interested in an outdoor or historic venue, or just a venue that is beautiful and pleasant to work with.

Historic Jasmine won me over years before my engagement. As a wedding vendor myself, I fell in love with the charm of the grounds and the ease of working with the Smith family. I could not imagine my wedding day anywhere else! My husband fell in love with the venue the moment we turned down the long driveway. The venue has a great deal of character and a cozy ambiance. The owners go above and beyond to assist their clients and the wedding vendors on site. We highly recommend Historic Jasmine! -

The Smith family and the Historic Jasmine venue were the perfect match for us and our wedding day! We got married on a beautiful fall day in New Kent, VA and the stunning backdrop of Historic Jamine was so picturesque. Not only is this venue beautiful, Ashton and his family were professional, friendly, and extremely accommodating. You are in great hands with Historic Jasmine and the wonderful Smith family!!! -

Beautiful Venue
Historic Jasmine was a beautiful place to get married. They have several spaces available for use, and each one of them was lovely. Ashton is responsive to emails and happy to help in any way. They are easy to work with, and allow couples to bring in their own vendors, which seems unique to many wedding venues. They helped with setup for the day and had some rentals available as well. We are so happy that we had our wedding here! -

Enchanting venue with great proprietors
We immediately felt at ease and connected to the Smith family when we first met with Mr. Smith and son Ashton. We visited the venue for the first time in the winter and fell in love with it; it only got more beautiful in the spring and summer with flowers and foliage in full bloom. The landscape was the perfect backdrop to the creative décor, which allowed for spectacular and enchanting photo ops. We loved the outdoor shed bar and took advantage of booking the 7 suites in the main house for our bridal party, which was very convenient. The suites are adorable, and all of the 6 full baths were stocked with amenities. The coffee and continental breakfast were appreciated the next morning.
Throughout the planning process, which I did in just a 6-month engagement period, Ashton was extremely quick to respond to all of my requests and questions, often responding back to me even outside of normal business hours, which I appreciated as that was when I was able to do most of my planning.
I truly appreciated that as part of the venue package the Smiths include a lot of the décor items (tables, chairs, etc.) at no additional cost, which really helps with the expenses. While I did rent farmhouse style tables for the reception, the venue's white padded chairs looked great with them, and the Smiths had the chairs and all other venue items set up just as I had laid out in my design plan! My Day of Coordinator said it was a breeze working with them too, though I wouldn’t have known it because they respectfully stay hidden during your whole event.
We truly loved our venue and got so many compliments on it; one friend who had been to 7 weddings already this year said it was her favorite venue she’d been to. The only thing that could have been better was payment options. The only online payment had a very high transaction fee associated so opted for the cheaper route of sending checks by mail. They gladly accept this method, which saved me a lot of money, but I wish it was more convenient as my other vendors all had other electronic forms of payment that did not charge the transaction fee. I will say that they are constantly improving and creating at their property so they could have an upgrade to this by the time you are interested in booking. On my first walkthrough of the property, they had just finished beautiful, paved pathways connecting all of the main event spaces near the large marquee tent and two new handicap accessible bathrooms were under construction and completed when I next returned to take more pictures and videos since I forgot to do so my first time there. In summary, the proprietors were fantastic, professional, helpful, kind, and responsive, the venue is breathtaking, and the manor house is quaint and kitschy in the best way. Look no further, this is your place! -

My daughter was married last weekend at the Historic Jasmine and they could not have chosen a more perfect place for their special day!! From the very beginning, the Smith family was amazing. They were there to help every step of the way. The venue was all encompassing. From the cocktail hour outside by the treehouse bar to the big event tent and of course the beautiful Chapel In The Woods. The photos do not do it justice, you definitely need to see it in person. On Friday, we had our rehearsal Dinner and a Night Before Party and stayed the night in the Manor House which made the experience even more special. I highly recommend staying at the house for the full historic experience. Thank you Don and Ashton for making our daughter and now son-in-law's wedding a day they will cherish forever!!! -

Nothing short of perfect!
Our experience with the Historic Jasmine was nothing short of a dream. From day one the owners made us feel 100% welcome and the flexibility and freedom to plan our day how we wanted was amazing. They’ve really thought of every detail and there’s not a single spot on the property that isn’t picture worthy. Grounds were spotless and staff were out of sight but available on demand! Truly couldn’t have imagined our day any more perfect and would host our wedding here a million times over! -

When we first visited Historic Jasmine a year before planning, I knew we had found the place! The Smith family is so welcoming, and everything about the venue is unique and beautiful! There are different ceremony locations and so many hidden gems on the property. The manor house is full of antique treasures and everything is so elegant. Communication from the start was great, they made sure to reach out and make sure of every detail. We had originally planned for out ceremony site to be at "the chapel in the woods" but when it came to the day, it was raining pretty significantly. The back up plan they had arranged on the terrace was still wonderful and the day was amazing! The family all stayed in the manor house that night, and the next morning we enjoyed breakfast. My five year old daughter said " I wish we could stay here and have the wedding over and over" and I agreed I wished we could! Absolutely the best. -

I can’t say enough about this venue. It’s truly a beautiful area that is small enough to be personal yet Can accommodate a large number of people. Our wedding had over 100 guests and there were multiple places on site for photo opportunities as well as space not to feel crowded. Ashton and Dawn both are very receptive and willing to help with all of my questions and concerns. -

I found the Jasmine on Facebook and I knew the moment I saw pictures that I wanted my wedding there. It is everything and more, they are responsive, friendly, affordable for all that is included and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. Not to mention the wonderful list of vendors / caterers that they give you. I chose almost all of my vendors from their list and I couldn’t be happier with how amazing the whole experience was. If you consider the Jasmine for your wedding I guarantee you would not be disappointed. -

AMAZING and underrated wedding venue and team
The historic jasmine wedding venue is not only BEAUTIFUL and well-priced, but it was able to hold 250 very energetic guests for our Spring 2022 wedding. More than that, the jasmine team really makes you feel like family when you are working with them. They made sure that all our vendors were well organized and taken care of. They also made sure that everything I wanted (which was ALOT) was met and exceeded. I cannot recommend this venue and team enough. Thank you for making our wedding all it could be. If you're having any hesitation about booking Jasmine, DON'T! My husband and I would give them a higher rating if possible. From the very first time we met Don and Ashton, to the day of the wedding, we received nothing but phenomenal support, communication, and help. The landscape and layout is perfect if you're looking for a one-stop-shop. The house and grounds will have your guests loving the spot just as much as you do. You can't beat the price either considering EVERYTHING that's included in the wedding packages. I wish we were planning another wedding just to have an excuse to go back and celebrate. You won't regret it. We loved every aspect of it. -

The Historic Jasmine is a beautiful venue for a wedding! I love the history of the house that is beautifully furnished. It was such a pleasure working with the Historic Jasmine from start to finish. My fiancé and I had toured several venues before visiting the Jasmine but very soon after we arrived we knew it was our aesthetic and Don was so relaxed and kind but very knowledgeable as he showed us around. It put us at ease and really characterized the atmosphere of the whole beautiful property, inside and out, and the culture of the staff.
There is so much I can say. I believe this venue has really struck a wonderful and rare balance between being customizable with outside venders and the services they provide in house. Amazing value for the price point from the research and tours we did (we probably researched at least 15 venues in the Richmond area). For example. the Jasmine provided ALL the tables and chairs we needed including set up and clean up. We found this to be an incredible service for a venue to provide. It was also very convenient and reasonable to go ahead an rent linens from the Jasmine as well. Then, they do not require the use of certain alcohol so we could bring in our own which was really not as difficult as I thought and it is a great way to potentially save hundreds of dollars. We loved having access to the whole property while we were there and having the option to rent bedrooms overnight. We decided to rent just one room for ourselves on the wedding night so we were able to privately enjoy the property in its morning glory the next day and reflect on the event together. Just perfect. The self serve breakfast that is provided was a treat.
The set up and getting-ready part of the day was seamless with two very comfortable upstairs spaces set apart for the bride and groom, and again, the whole home being open to us allowed us to comfortably bring in lunch for everyone helping with set-up to enjoy in the AC. During the event, our guests (about 125) could spread out in the reception and cocktail hour areas and enjoyed access to the whole lower level of the house to cool off as well.
Overall, we just felt the Jasmine really knows how to host a wedding well. We felt needs were anticipated and it was such a pleasure communicating with Don and Ashton leading up to the event. They were by far the most responsive vender we employed. I just can't say enough good things about our experience.

If I could give Historic Jasmine Plantation an extra ten stars, I would!! From our first visit to our wedding weekend, Don and his family were so helpful, communicative, kind, patient, and enthusiastic. We chose every single one of our vendors following Don's advice and they were all phenomenal. Don also made every effort to keep the venue affordable, even when we were renting it for the entire weekend, and went out of his way to accommodate us, down to finding Keto breakfast bars for my crazy diet :) Not to mention, Jasmine is GORGEOUS. Despite rain (which Don was able to easily adapt to), guests are still telling me how much they loved Jasmine and how beautiful the ceremony was (and it was the rain plan!). I would recommend Jasmine without any hesitation. -

Perfect in every way!
Everything about The Historic Jasmine Plantation is so magical and perfect! My husband and I had the time of our life celebrating our marriage with our family and friends. We felt so comfortable and welcomed there from the moment we were greeted at the door by Don. We throughly enjoyed having our rehearsal dinner in the Magnolia room. Followed by me, my bridal party, and other women in my family spending a relaxing night at the plantation. We woke up the next morning to a wonderful breakfast and our hair and make up team arriving. Everything flowed so well in the morning. Our ceremony in the woods at the chapel was so magical and perfect shading to ward off the summer heat. The reception was a blast, the tent is so beautiful with all the lighting and drapery that people couldn’t believe that it was included. The grounds are literally stunning! I am so impressed by how well manifest the Smith family keeps the grounds. I could go on and on about the entire place and how it is truly amazing, but I think the best part was how amazing Don was to work with through the entire process. He was always so quick to answer all my questions and never made me feel bad if I asked the same question multiple times. He really is such a kind and easy going individuals and i could not imagine having anyone better to help make our vision come to life. I will never forgot this special place and pray I get to enjoy another wedding there one day, but this time as a guest! :) -

Don with Historic Jasmine plantation was absolutely outstanding. He answered all of our questions efficiently and helped relieve some of the stress that comes with wedding planning. Historic Jasmine Plantation is absolutely beautiful. They have a rain back up plan which we did end up using, and multiple choices for ceremony site and reception sites. The Manor house has multiple rooms and bathrooms which was very helpful when supplying rooms for the wedding party. We would 100% recommend Historic Jasmine Plantation to anyone planning a wedding!! -

Oh my goodness - where to start?! My husband and I knew that Jasmine would be the perfect venue for our October wedding within minutes of meeting the owner, Don. He has a true love for love, and it is evident in the work that he and his family put in to this beautiful historic home and its grounds. We had a contract for the entire weekend, and our entire bridal party and their significant others were able to stay at the venue Friday and Saturday night. Anything owned by Jasmine, Don and his family set up and broke down both days (we had our rehearsal dinner on the Magnolia Terrace Friday evening). The "Chapel in the Woods" was the most beautiful location for our ceremony, and the reception tent was absolutely lovely. We had 120 guests, and the reception tent was the perfect size for that many. There are nooks and sweet spots all around the grounds, and our guests loved everything about the venue. We heard nothing but glowing reviews! When we booked with Jasmine, Don gave us a curated list of vendors in the area that they recommend, which was so helpful as we worked through bookings. Getting married at Jasmine is easy, delightful, and full of love. You truly feel like you are getting married at a family home! I cannot say enough positive things about Don, his family, and the venue! -

I had my wedding & rehearsal dinner at Jasmine in June 2019 and it was AMAZING. Everything was made so easy through Jasmine, down to renting linens. The chapel in the woods made for breathtaking pictures. The light in the tent made the nighttime reception feel like a dream. I loved having the option to spend the night at the plantation the night before and after. It took the wedding experience to the next level. I cannot imagine getting married anywhere else. I can honestly say that i have nothing bad to say about Historic Jasmine Plantation. -

Best Wedding Venue!
We cannot thank Jasmine enough for providing such an amazing setting to get married in and such an accommodating home for us to stay in! Don did such an amazing job building the chapel in the woods and we are so grateful that his vision gave us the perfect setting for our day. All of our guests could not get over how beautiful the venue was and neither could we! We would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married in a gorgeous spot with great people to work with. Having all of our bridal party be able to stay on site was so convenient and stress free. Jasmine is the best! -

They set up tables and chairs and offer additional set up options as well. They were very organized and professional. Their recommended vendor list was exactly what we needed. Most of our vendors came from their list. The bed & breakfast was beautiful and made us and photographer happy.

Don and Eileen went above and beyond to make sure our stay and daughters wedding was perfect. We asked some favors from them and they always said, "No problem". The grounds and venue I'm still getting compliments on and I do recommend them but also to stay at the plantation!! It was awesome to stay there and do last minute things like favor boxes with family and friends!!! I can't say enough wonderful things about the Plantation or the owners!!! Fantastic!!!!! -

I located their website the night before I signed with someone else, and couldn't have found a more perfect location for our wedding! It had the feel we wanted, and was flexible with special requests we had for our event. We were able to have the privacy of the whole plantation for our family and guests from the day before the wedding (Friday) until check out on Sunday. The homemade breakfast on the wedding day was amazing! The egg scramble was delicious! Don and his wife were friendly, professional, and accomodating - you can't find better hosts, especially at the more than reasonable price they offer for their services! Thank you, Don and Eileen, for your hospitality and opening up your beautiful property to us for our special day! -

Liz Sent on 05/25/2011Historic Jasmine Plantation provided the perfect, intimate setting for our small outdoor wedding (50 people). Wanting to take advantage of Jasmine's beautiful grounds and have an outdoor wedding, we showed up the day of to a rainy and gray day. The generous owners provided us the use of their large backyard tent for no extra charge and we were just thrilled.
We were able to quickly set up for our wedding and relax, and everything was more lovely than I had even imagined. -

Ashley Sent on 08/17/2012Jasmine Plantation is gorgeous and the owners are very nice and accommodating. E-mails are responded to very quickly, usually within just a few hours. You get to pick all of your own vendors. They basically provide you with the venue, tables, and chairs, and the rest is up to you. It was nice to be able to do whatever I wanted, a lot of venues make you use their caterers which seem to usually be on the pricier side.
If you rent the venue for the weekend, you get a lot of freedom and privacy. The only time I saw the owners was when Don was helping to get tables/chairs set up and then after the wedding to help get cleaned up. Breakfast was out every morning by 7:30. This was done VERY quietly btw. I'm so glad that I booked with Jasmine Plantation for my wedding. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
