Not only is the venue gorgeous, but Mary was super sweet when I called her the next day and found out I forgot my phone charger. I am just a bridesmaid, but she offered to mail it to me (I live over an hour away) without any charge. So nice of her and less stress now on my shoulders finding a way to make it back there. Amanda (I think was her name) was also so helpful the day of to all of us. So thank you ladies so much for your hospitality!

It was a beautiful setting and Mary and Amanda followed through on everything. A great place to have a wedding and a reception. Amanda was there on the day/night of the wedding and we couldn't be happier with her service

The Firehouse is such a gorgeous venue. We didn't do a whole lot to the place and were told by all of our guests how beautiful the wedding was. Mary and crew are very accommodating and gracious. We had people on-site all day to help us and everything ran smoothly! I did forget which door I was supposed to enter the courtyard from--I went out the back side door instead of the large side doors! Also, the bridal and groom's suites were huge necessities and huge hits. The guys were grateful for something to do while the ladies got ready.

Mary was thoroughly accommodating for our ceremony and reception. The decor of the venue made it so easy to decorate for our reception. We thought we wanted a barn, but after walking into the Historic Firehouse, we fell in love. The prices are flexible so you can change dates and times the pay a little less. But when you consider most of the decorating is done, that is a huge cost saver. Amanda, Jay and Mary were all so helpful and so nice. We had the most perfect ceremony outside and reception inside. I feel that we chose the most perfect spot. The location was spot on. We also rented the loft apartment across the street and it was so convenient to prep for the wedding and walk across the street. We loved every minute of our experience. Thank you Mary, Amanda and Jay!!

This was a wonderful place for my wedding. Mary and Amanda worked with me for everything I could possibly need. The were very flexible with the needs for inside and outside. Not only is this a beautiful venue, but it has everything you could want. It has a designated gift area and photo booth. It has a bar and the perfect spot for a caterer if you do a buffet style menu. They were always open to me coming down if I wanted to look at something and were extremely accommodating. I would recommend this place to ANYONE!

If you're looking for a fun and unique reception (or ceremony) venue, the Historic Firehouse No. 2 is it! We fell in love with this place and were so happy to have our reception here! Mary and Amanda were so great to work with, they are knowledgable about what works and who to recommend. We never wanted our reception to end!

While pricey this venue was absolutely beautiful. We originally booked for just 5 hours but after we found out that set up needed to be done in that time period as well we decided to book the venue for the entire day. In the end this was a better fit for us and allowed us to take our time setting up. We also sprung for the upstairs loft as an area where the bride and her bridesmaids could get ready, it was expensive but the convenience was nice. For us we fell in love with it the moment we walked into the building. The garden was dead in the winter when we booked the venue but by the time of our wedding it was full of beautiful trees and flowers. We saved time by having the ceremony outside in the garden and then the reception indoors, even if we took the risk of having the outside ceremony. They do have a plan B in case of bad weather. The inside of the venue has been beautifully remodelled and offered us a wonderful backdrop for our reception. One of the major pluses was the interior, it was so wonderfully decorated as is, we hardly had to do much decorating ourselves. All we did was put out a few photos and knick knacks and dressed the tables, all of the other ambiance came from the building itself. They also had a photo booth already set up, not something we would have done ourselves but a nice addition which was popular at the reception. The owner can take some getting used to but she is very professional. She is busy and there were some delays in contact but nothing that had any lasting effect on the event itself, also her assistant Amanda was available if the owner wasn't to help with any questions. We wanted to give a special thanks to Amanda, who on the day of the wedding went to great lengths to make sure everything went smoothly and that we were happy, she is wonderful. I can't think of a better venue in Springfield for not only a wedding but any type of large party, this venue is fantastic and I would highly recommend it.

We are so glad we chose the Firehouse as the place where we tied the knot and had our reception. I feel like literally every single one of our guests complimented our choice of venue. Several of our friends said this was the best wedding they had ever been too. Our friend whom had just gotten married 2.5 months ago told us that our wedding was way more beautiful than her own, and she wouldn't say that if it weren't true. Very beautiful venue! Our only complaint was that the owner is a little too "overly helpful". She was interfering with the photographer, giving her own "directions" on how to pose. Also a bummer is that you are not allowed to tape anything on the walls, but we still managed to make the venue look extra special! Highly recommend this venue for your special day!

Amazing Venue. The indoor/outdoor versatility was perfect for us- for it allowed many more guest for a great price. I agree with other people who have used this venue in the past- the owner and staff is hard to get used to. We had some confusion with booking- ended up not being able to have our rehearsal dinner there the night before which made rehearsal difficult and some goofs during the actual ceremony. The morning of the wedding we were able to set up at 830 a.m.- They showed up 30 minutes late and smelled of booze. The owner took a plate of food home to her husband before my husband and I could even get to the food. THEN during photos asked if her employees could help themselves to the food! I was totally blown away. Their bartenders poured heavy drinks- resulting in running out of alcohol and many guest were over served. Our wedding ended early do to this. She was present all night and bossy. Unfortunately, I would not recommend using this venue even though its so beautiful because of management.

The firehouse is a nice venue, but could be managed better. The owner changes tables and chairs without telling those who have booked the venue in the future, which could make planning difficult for some people. Overall its not bad, we would still us the firehouse if we had to do it again.

This was a unique place for a wedding. We got awesome picture becasue of the unique backgrounds and pretty flowers. We were able to utilize the outside courtyard for the wedding and inside for the reception. This made it nice for the guests because there was no traveling between locations. The firehouse has a small number of tables and chairs that can be used instead of renting but they do not match. A wedding for 200 was a tight squeeze but it worked. The built in bar with keg taps was very convienent. There was also an area pre set up for cateriing. Lack of air conditioning made my summer wedding VERY hot! They had installed ceiling vents at the time but these did very little to cool the building. My reception was am amazing time for everybody but becasue of the temperature all of the people in my pictures are sweaty. The temp outside that day was probably about 90 degrees so perhaps a cooler day would be a little better. My cake's icing was melting off by the time we were ready to cut it, had we put it out later the problem would be solved however that was not practical for us at the time. They also had pre-hung white lights on the fence of the courtyard and inside around the door and up collumns in the center. This was very pretty.

This venue is not for a couple on a budget. The sticker price is reasonable, but there are PLENTY of add-ons that are necessary and way over-priced. In addition, the owner is very rude and bossy. My career background is in event-planning so I knew exactly what I was doing. However, Mary accused me of being disorganized as a bride. Once I started emailing her my details to keep her in the loop, she told me I was taking up too much of her time. She didn't tell me until I showed up for our catering tasting that her chef had quit. Then, since she had to outsource the catering, she retracted a discount she had previously offered us. Amanda is extremely nice, helpful, and easy to work with. If you choose the Firehouse, I highly recommend asking that she be there for your wedding day. Mary and her husband were both very condescending to me. They do not view this is a client-relationship and instead act like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to use the venue in the first place. I had quotes for other beautiful venues that had no add-on fees (the Firehouse charges for your rehearsal, using the getting-ready rooms, glassware, and even going out onto their patio) and the owners were much more professional. Our wedding turned out beautiful, but we did a majority of the work and had to double check all of the details we had entrusted to the Firehouse (and caught a number of mistakes on the wedding day). If I could do it again, I would spend less money on a different venue or the same amount at a venue much easier to work with.

    Historic Firehouse No.2's reply:

I simply choose to disagree with this review. There are two sides to every story. All our pricing and policies are on our website for all to see and we go over everything before signing the contract, which we honor to the letter. Rather than berate a recent bride for choosing a venue beyond her means, I'd invite any of you who read this to come to one of our Open Houses from 4 to 6pm, the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month to meet us judge for yourself if these words ring true.
