We had our wedding at the Callahan House in June 2025. It was a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. We picked the venue in early November 2023 and were able to take tours throughout the year as we planned. The grounds were beautiful, with soft grass and the fountain running throughout the night. There was ample space for us and our 50 guests, with plenty of room for yard games and dancing. Guests were able to sit inside if they wanted to. Brittaney was great to work with and ensured our experience went smoothly. The Callahan House was an affordable and beautiful venue; we received compliments on the choice throughout the night and truly enjoyed the gardens ourselves.Historic Callahan House and Garden's reply:

Best Venue Ever

Kathy Korpela prepared and suggested for me the things I needed to think about for our family reunion with ages 1 to 89. The evening was perfect with gardens and games, an open house for looking out over the yard and exploring. Dinner was easy and informal and comfortable with helpers ready but not obtrusive. Stunning Gardens and Experienced Staff!!
BEAUTIFUL property and COMPLETE service. Kathy and her experienced staff were so helpful in making our wedding day perfect. They were communicative, prompt and most importantly, thought of details we ourselves overlooked! They were so dedicated to our wedding that everything went on without a hitch! This was especially helpful as we didn't hire a wedding coordinator. The gardens were breathtaking for all our guests and they enjoyed exploring the historical asepcts of the house. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful it was a month later. The recommended catering service was wonderful. They worked together with the Callahan House to provide for every need imaginable. Truly Exceptional!

Awesome experience at Callahan House
First of all the Callahan house is the most beautiful wedding venue I have ever seen, it has a lush garden full of colorful flowers with lots of space to walk around and admire the beauty. The history of the house is maintained with pride, honor and an attention to detail that maintains its charm. We had to reschedule the wedding twice because of the pandemic and Kathy was very kind and accommodating whenever we communicated. We also did our engagement pictures at the venue and a small 2020 ceremony; every time we have been to the Callahan Kathy made us feel so comfortable and went above and beyond to make it our special day.Historic Callahan House and Garden's reply:

Kathy and her team at Callahan House were awesome!! Due to COVID and the uncertainty of everything we only had our ceremony there but they made it happen! Peter and I had the most beautiful wedding at the Historic Callahan House and Garden. We felt good giving money to a vendor that we knew would go back into such a treasured piece of Longmont history where we live, and the setting was the stuff of storybooks. The house manager Kathy was organized and prepared and helped guide us the entire way. I have to admit we were pretty close to clueless about planning a wedding! Her insight and her experience was helpful to facilitate what we wanted. Jacqueline helped as well on the day of and was the sweetest person we had ever met! Howard did an awesome job setting up for our needs and his precision in measuring everything out for our officiant (who moved through out the ceremony) was perfect! Beth Sent on 04/07/2018Kathy and her team were incredibly accommodating for our very non-traditional party. We just wanted to have some good food and hang out with our guests in a relaxed atmosphere, and Callahan House delivered exactly that. We had a buffet set up in the dining room downstairs with tables and chairs throughout for small conversation groups. We had a board/tabletop game room set up upstairs for our guests to have something quieter to do if the crowd got to be too much. The weather was perfect for mid-March so we really got a chance to enjoy the porch and gardens. It was especially nice to be able to use the house's serving and dinnerware; it gave it that extra-special personal touch and felt like using the family china. All of the house's furniture was fantastic, it was great to have such wonderful antiques around us. Absolutely everything was perfect, and the staff did a great job making sure they knew exactly what we wanted beforehand, that it was set up, and that the whole event ran smoothly. Our guests absolutely loved the beautiful house and so did we. It was so pretty, we didn't have to decorate! (A big plus for me).

The staff was extremely professional and assisted us everything from finding vendors to planning the event. We found the staff to be quite friendly to same-sex couples and they just seemed happy to share in our day. Overall, top notch service!

Beautiful Venue
We are so pleased we decided to host our belated wedding reception party at Callahan House! Everyone who came loved the venue, both house and gardens, which are just beautiful. Kathy was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, and continually supported us in ideas that would make the party uniquely ours. This included working with a food truck instead of formal catering, and she even provided lawn games to help keep the kids (and everyone!) entertained. We would highly recommend Callahan House to anyone looking for a smaller, friendly, beautiful venue!Historic Callahan House and Garden's reply:

Beautiful garden wedding
The Callahan House is a beautiful place for a small wedding! The garden is beautiful and the trees provide a nice, intimate feeling in the middle of Longmont. It is visually rich and there is no need for additional decor, or even many flowers - the garden is lush and provides a gorgeous setting, and looks especially good in pictures. Our wedding ceremony and reception were orchestrated flawlessly and we didn't have to worry about a thing. The house manager at the Callahan House runs a tight ship, and you will be in good hands as long as you let her take the wheel. -
Cheryn Sent on 04/04/2018Beautiful Queen Anne Mansion. My daughter had a VERY unconventional 10 day Spring Break Wedding Marathon. She lives in Manhattan Kansas, but grew up in Colorado, so her roots are here.
Her wedding was at the Manhattan Courthouse in Kansas on a Friday. The weekend was spent baking carrot cake cupcakes and icing them with cream cheese frosting. Monday we were in Kansas City at a County park with a rustic Hall entertaining her husband's relatives, and many of their Midwest friends with a Kansas City barbeque.
Wednesday found us picking up beer, cider, and champagne and hauling all the decorations, crocheted tablecloths, serving bowls, platters, and supplies to Longmont from Thornton.
We showed up 1 hour before the party was to start, to decorate, and finish last minute details. It was balmy enough for the bar to be set up on the porch. Callahan house provided the darling vintage mid century modern glass luncheon plates with matching punch cups, silverware, and crystal champagne punch bowl. (If the event entertains 50 or fewer guests, Callahan House allows the clients to use the house dinnerware, silverware, hot drink mugs, and our case the luncheon plates)
Her friends from Scotland, New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Chicago, California, and all points in between came to meet her Husband. Almost every guest commented on the perfect setting for the newlyweds. There were card and board games to play upstairs, as well as marble works and legos.
Callahan house met the newlyweds requirements. No bouquet, no garter, no toasts, no DJ, no dancing, no speeches, no burlap, no white dress. (remember I said unconventional?) All they wanted was Good Food, Good Friends, beautiful place to have fellowship with friends and family It was intimate enough for conversation, and large enough to provide nooks and crannies for everything that was happening. -

Cheryn Sent on 04/19/2018Our daughter had a courthouse wedding. Then the parties started. Callahan House was #3. It was the most upscale. Kathy was willing to work with our hours and dates. Beth basically wanted a party with good food and space to play card/ board games and just catch up with everyone from all over the globe.

User2859025 Sent on 11/10/2016The gardens are beautiful and the house was a perfect backdrop for all of our photos. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect here, with one exception: the house manager Kathy was a nightmare. She was great in the months leading up to the wedding, although she did try to control a lot such as the colors we chose and how we wanted our seating chart. But on the actual day of the wedding she was awful. Not only did several of our guests complain about how rude she was to them, but my photographers had horrible experiences with her as well. One photographer called her ahead of time to make sure their timelines for the day matched up and Kathy actually hung up on her!
And do not plan on getting to the house early. She left us standing outside on the porch for 5 minutes because we arrived about 15 minutes early, then ended up docking the 15 minutes from the time we had for the wedding.
One of my biggest issues was that rather than just watching from the sidelines as I've seen done at other locations, Kathy hovered around my guests the entire wedding. She even ended up in every single photo of me walking down the aisle because she was standing directly at the entrance of the aisle. She also ended up in every photo of my husband and I signing our marriage license. My photographers tried to work around this, but it was inevitably unavoidable.
As the wedding wound down she took it upon herself to take all of our things from the house and DUMP THEM ON THE PORCH. Since I knew we only had about a half hour left I was walking to the front of the house to begin packing up and her and another woman were dumping everything on the porch; my jewelry box, makeup, my bridesmaids purses, everything was unceremoniously thrown on the porch which I found to be horribly tactless and rude.
The house and gardens are gorgeous, and we did ultimately have a great time. But if you're considering a wedding here you have to be willing to have a firm hand and tell Kathy to back off.
