This was THE best music experience ever. I know I wanted a live music portion for our wedding, and we thought a violin would be the right touch. Hire Juilliard worked with us to determine our specific needs (turns out we needed a cello to accompany for most of our songs) and they NAILED it! Our group leader was Ken, and he was so responsive and just a complete pleasure to work with. He coordinated a number of team calls leading up to our event and was so personable and professional. He and Chelsea showed up early on our wedding day, and they were just a lovely pair. The music was nothing short of magical, and they were the perfect addition to our night. I am so thankful to have found them, and will scream from the mountain tops how awesome Ken, Chelsea and the entire Hire Juilliard team has been!

Best decision

The band leader was very communicative and very easy to work with prior to my wedding last November. We throughly discussed song selections and she patiently answered all of my questions regarding music arrangements for a quartet. The musicians were extremely professional and well-dressed for my black tie optional dress code. Their performance during the ceremony was absolutely beautiful and fitting. There are many vendors that offer strings when booking a band but you truly cannot compare the quality of the musicians at other vendors with Hire Juilliard.

You would be remiss not to go with Hire Juilliard if you’re in the NYC area.

My (now) husband and I had the pleasure of hiring a Juilliard Performers jazz quartet for our wedding reception. They were prompt, professional, and added such a wonderful atmospheric addition to our wedding. We highly recommended working with them!

We are so happy with our choice in hiring a Julliard Alumni. We hired a solo violinist for our wedding and Chelsea Smith (the violinist) was great to work with. Wish we had the chance to meet her in person but the wedding day went by too fast! But I do know our guests kept mentioning how great the violinist was. We could not be happier with our ceremony and cocktail hour music.

We hired Juilliard Performers for our wedding and they did a fantastic job. We hired a violinist & a cellist and they performed custom contemporary songs for us as well as classical music while our guests arrived. I cannot recommend the Juilliard Performers more, my contact was highly responsive, very accommodating and very professional.

We are so, so happy with how our experience with going through Juilliard turned out. The office staff was great and made everything very simple. I explained that we are a little quirky and were looking for something different, and the staff broke down the types of musicians we could book and all the relevant details. We ended up booking a solo jazz trumpet player, Riley Mulherkar, who was CRAZY good. Like, I assume very shortly he will be famous. He played New Orleans style jazz for our ceremony and then led us and our guests in a musical parade to our reception that I will never forget until I am a dead person. It was so perfect. We even marched through another live band and he matched their music and kept walking. What!! Just amazing.

It was also super affordable for the quality you get to book a solo performer; I'm sure booking groups gets pricey but this was perfect for us. Can't recommend them enough.

We hired a Juilliard String Quartet for our wedding ceremony and they were absolutely fantastic!! The quartet leader, Caeli Smith, was professional, talented, dependable, and flexible. They learned a number of new pieces for the service in addition to accompanying our cantor. They sounded stunning and overall made our wedding mass so much more meaningful and beautiful. Thank you!!

We hired two Juilliard musicians, Stephanie Wu and Maria Im, for our recent wedding, and they were both phenomenal. Maria was our violinist during our ceremony, and she also played for the guests before the ceremony began. My only regret is that we didn't have her play for longer! She was incredible and was extremely helpful in helping me decide on music for the ceremony. We then had Stephanie play piano during our dessert hour (which we had in lieu of a cocktail hour). Again, she was amazing, professional, and prompt, and everyone loved listening to her play. Katherine Howell at Juilliard was incredibly helpful in organizing the musicians and their contracts. I would absolutely use Juilliard if I ever need to hire musicians again.

The Juilliard team was flexible and communicative and helped us decide to hire a solo cellist for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We worked with cellist Philo Lee on the program and scheduling and could not be happier with his professionalism and flexibility. His music was a beautiful addition to the ceremony (he timed his program perfectly!). We can't recommend Juilliard and Philo enough.

I got married at the Cop Cot in Central Park with a string trio and it was amazing!!! I absolutely recommend these Juilliard performers for any special occasion. The musican I engaged for my wedding , Rose Marie Bart, a solo cellist, was outstanding! The administrative office at Juilliard was helpful and prompt in getting me set up with a musician. Rose Marie and I corresponded via email to manage the details of what she would play during different parts of the ceremony. She came up with good suggestions based on the details I gave her. I thought the price charged was very fair. And given the quality of the musican it was a bargain! Everyone at the wedding (at which there were several accomplished musicians as guests) raved about the music. I could not have been happier!!!

We could not be more thrilled with the string quartet, led by Colin. Not only was their performance exactly as flawless as you’d expect from a world-class conservatory; they were also incredibly easy to work with throughout the process: attentive, professional, and full of great ideas. When we requested songs not traditionally played by a string quartet, Colin met the challenge and personally arranged or sought out arrangements to fit the quartet. Every member (Colin, Maria, Henry and Cong) showed up dressed for a wedding, were polite and affable, and played beautifully. A brilliant decision to hire these guys.

We hired a classical guitarist to play during our ceremony, cocktail hour and seated dinner. For the ceremony we had specific song requests that he learned and played beautifully. The Juilliard School and our performer, were incredibly easy to work with and I recommend them to any couple looking to add live music to their event.

Very professional and a great value. I hired a Julliard string duo to perform at my ceremony and happy hour. After hiring Julliard, the team captain Mitch Lyon reached out to me to coordinate details and help me choose music. He was very organized and knew exactly what he was doing and what questions to ask. I knew I wouldn't have to worry that anything would go wrong with the music. He was very thoughtful and helpful in guiding me through the music selection becuase I knew what vibe I wanted but hadn't come up with specific songs. It was perfect and memorable. Absolutely no issues.

We hired two musicians (Colin Stokes-cello & Lisa Kim-violin) for our wedding on October 6th, 2012 & they were outstanding. Given their background at Juilliard, we knew they were going to be outstanding musicians and incredibly professional, but they exceeded our expectations. I already have recommended "Hire Juilliard Performers" to friends for future events & would continue to do so, without the slightest hesitation, in the future.

There is nothing to think about when you hire Juilliard. How many things can you say that about when preparing a wedding? We hired a five piece jazz ensemble (guitar, bass, piano, drums and sax) for the cocktail portion of our reception. Wholly professional, talented, played 2 hour was barely a break. I am looking for other occassions to hire them. Our wedding guests love it.

Terrific experience. The value, apart from the fabulous musicianship, is in not having to give a second's thought to who to book. Juilliard is a fantastic brand. You know the artists are the best. They are consumate professionals. The booking experience is excellent and simple. With all the things to worry about for a wedding, this is not one of them.

The Juilliard School makes it very easy to hire their wonderfully talented musicians. I hired a string duo. They will work with you and play from the list of pieces you chose. They sounded superb at my ceremony and my guests were very impressed.

Having a Juilliard string quartet play at my wedding ceremony was one of hte best decisions I've ever made. They were professional during the planning process, amazing quality during the ceremony, and cost of fraction of what other vendors were looking to charge. The idea of hiring Julliard musicians was fantastic and it was so easy. They were professional and amazing. We paid for a rehearsal to hear them play and to finalize which pieces would be played before, during and after the ceremony, and it was like a private, mini-concert. We highly recommend hiring them.

We had 4 specific pieces that we wanted. The musicians transcribed the music, learned it and performed it beautifully. They were of the highest virtuosic level. You can really tell that Juilliard is concerned with maintaining their reputation by only sending their best musicians.

We chose a classical duo, Jia Kim on cello and Maria Im on violin, to play at our wedding held in the All Souls Sanctuary. For the processional we chose Delibes "Flower Duet" and for the recessional Mozart "Divertimento in D Major 1st movt". Hire Juilliard were so professional in dealing with our request and very helpful in helping to choose the right music for our wedding. They arrived early to set up and their performances were breathtaking, not just the processional and recessional, but all of the music they chose to perform. They made a real difference to our wedding day and made the event seem so much more special. We received so many comments from our guests saying how wonderful they were and would highly recommend them.

We had a flute and clarinet duo play before the ceremony,during the ceremony and for the cocktail hour. We felt it was the perfect combination.
They gave us a list of suggested pieces they felt would be appropriate, which was helpful.
We would highly recommend using the students at the Juilliard school.

We hired a violin, cello, and clarinet trio to perform at our wedding ceremony. It was such a pleasure to work with such talented Juilliard graduates.
From the very beginning, the trio leader was in communication and working with us on musical selections. We also had an opportunity to attend a preview rehearsal session to ensure all music is performed as requested. Elegant Ceremony; Beautiful Cocktail Hour - Thanks to Hire Juilliard

Juilliard was a pleasure to work with in the months preceding our wedding day. Our trio took note of our requests for specific and fairly difficult pieces, they rehearsed our pieces before our wedding day, and they performed them perfectly during our ceremony. The students' beautiful playing made our ceremony and cocktail hour sparkle with elegance. Our guests, some of whom are professional musicians, loved listening to them. We could not have asked for more and they did a truly phenomenal job. Nobody could have guessed that they are students - they are Juilliard musicians, after all! Very highly recommended.

We hired a cello and violin duo to perform prior and during our ceremony. The performance was absolutely beautiful, and seriously made us feel a lot fancier than we are! One of my "saddest" wedding moments (as the bride) is that I did not get to hear more of the performance for myself. When I came out to walk down the aisle I was shocked by how gorgeous the music was. It made me feel like a princess! Working with the school to coordinate and book the service was easy, too. Keep in mind they are a busy school, so if you're expecting lightning fast responses, chill. Once we were assigned the student performers, the Lead contacted me to arrange the program and sent me tons of song suggestions based on what I was looking for. They were on time for the event, dressed appropriately, and VERY kind and gracious. Worth every penny! Thank you, Jiwon and Hyewon!

I was very pleased with the services I received for my ceremony. I hired a violin soloist for a small wedding (about 40 people) and absolutely adored the music. The musician played beautifully and added a very elegant touch to the wedding ceremony. I worked with two people primarily, the coordinator who pairs the musician with the wedding ceremony, and the musician herself. Both were responsive and professional, and I was really happy with my decision to go with the Juilliard students!

I hired a saxophonist from Juilliard to play outside of the church as guests exited after my wedding. Sadly I was not able to actually hear and enjoy the music since I was off taking pictures, but from what guests said it was a very nice touch. Juilliard was easy to work with and luckily able to provide what I wanted, especially since I needed something a little more unique.

A great value. Great group of professionals to work with across all spectrums of the wedding planning process. Ceremony, cocktail and reception were made up of customized arrangements that came off better than expected. Andrew Wangemann is a class act and wonderful band leader. We hired a cello duo for our ceremony and could not have been happier. We worked directly with the music leader to define the playlist for the pre-ceremony, the processional, and the recessional. Many of our songs were unconventional - we made no "classical" recommendations - but Mitch was receptive, easy to work with, and professional. At the event the music was just as we'd imagined, and the duo was completely polished. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful experience working with the Julliard School in coordinating ceremony music for my wedding. They were very prompt, quick to respond, answered all my questions, coordinated with what I was looking for and made excellent suggestions based on their experience!

I hired a violinist to play when I proposed to my girlfriend. The Juilliard School made the process very easy and I was able to do everything in less than 10 days. The violinist was very professional and responsive to coordinating everything. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The string trio music provided by the Juilliard artists for our daughter's wedding ceremony at 632 on Hudson (lovely event space in the West Village!) was gorgeous and very professional. It was easy to arrange by email and phone, even from CA, and I enjoyed working with the staff and Danny Kim, who was the trio coordinator.

We loved the music provided by the cellist and the violinist from the Julliard School for our wedding! We had plenty of correspondence before the event to assure a program that we would enjoy, and the performers were meticulous in their preparations and in getting to the event on time. Thank you for a great musical experience!

If there is any way to amplify your performance it would have been even better. Sound was very soft at least in the church you played in for us.

Could not even get in touch

We had a call scheduled with their program manager and she just blew off the call without even so much as an email. The next day we received an email from her that something last minute came up and she couldn’t make the call and she offered to reschedule for the following day. We replied with times that were good for us to reschedule the call- and haven’t heard anything since. A shame as this was a top choice vendor for us but we simply can NOT work with someone this unresponsive. Hope they get a new point person who can handle this account better.

My husband and I had an awful experience with Julliard and I would not recommend them to anyone. We contacted them six months before our wedding and they provided us with some basic information which included cost but told us to contact them again over the summer (we were getting married in November) once their students were back from school and knew their schedules. We followed up and they asked us for specifics about what we wanted. Eventually, they gave our information to one of their students and that guy finally contacted us. We discussed our needs with him immediately and told him we wanted three specific songs for when we each walked down the aisle and for when we walked back down together. He said he could easily play those songs (they were common songs, one was Somewhere Over The Rainbow). We responded asking questions about payment and never heard back from him. After waiting a reasonable amount of time (we're already six weeks out from the wedding date at this point) we reached out to Juilliard directly. Juilliard then informed us that because we wanted specific songs we would have to pay more money for music sheets and practice time (even though the musician told us he knew how to play all of our three songs). Furthermore, they couldn't tell us in advance how much the final cost would be and said if they didn't have that number before the wedding we could just pay afterwards. That was the FIRST time we ever heard about an additional cost and the FIRST time they ever mentioned a contact. We contacted them six months prior!!! Even after we explained our disappointment they simply brushed us aside and then continued to send us information about their services. Luckily, I knew people in the theatre world and one of them was able to connect me with a wonderful pianist who was easy and pleasant to deal with. He also didn't charge me an extra fee to learn music he already knew how to play. I was deeply disappointed with their unprofessionalism.
