Robert really is the best DJ/MC that we could have ever gotten for our wedding on 3/22/25. From the moment we met him, my husband and I already knew that he would be perfect. He always goes above and beyond. He got to know both of us personally and helped us create a timeline that would work best. My husband gets an "asian glow" when drinking so he advised us to do some of the usual entertainment like mother/son & father/daughter dance earlier in the day so my husband could start drinking later in the night when pictures would not be all on us during the dancing. I was very nervous that my family and friends would not be as excited or involved as I hoped. This was not the case. He is VERY good at hyping up a crowd. He also got to know what our song preferences were. We definitley got lots of compliments on the song choices and DJ!! We also chose to use his services for draping. He went out of his way to make a trip to our venue and measure out the area. His passion for his work and his company really shines through when he speaks to us about some his advice and ideas for the event. Robert was always available via email or text and always responded super fast! He really made our wedding so memorable, I am so glad we hired him for our wedding and I HIGHLY recommend you do the same! -

We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ than Robert for our wedding night! From start to finish, he kept the energy high, the schedule seamless, and the dance floor packed. His attention to detail and ability to read the crowd made for an unforgettable night.
Some of our favorite moments? Playing Porter Robinson – Shelter not once, not twice, but THREE times—because, of course, it’s our favorite song! The bridal party entrances were next-level hype, and somehow, he managed to get everyone involved in the fun, from our younger guests to Uncle Paul, who crushed the push-up contest at 63!
Robert was on top of the schedule, ensuring that everything flowed smoothly without ever feeling rushed. We truly got to live in the moment and create lasting memories. The surprise additions, like the music during the best man’s speech, showed just how much care he puts into personalizing the experience. And even when we adjusted the timeline for the sparkler exit, he still made sure we got our EDM set in—because he gets it.
The dance floor never emptied, from Kendrick to the three hit Laos songs, and even those little moments when it was just the two of us, lost in the music, singing to each other. He made sure every part of the night was special.
If you’re looking for a DJ who brings energy, organization, and an unbeatable vibe, Robert is the one. Thank you for making our wedding unforgettable! -

The DJ kept the party at our wedding going all night, and he was so great keeping things moving and keeping the energy up. Everyone loved the music he was playing and people were dancing until the event ended! We have a special love for EDM music and he found a way to mix the groom's favorite EDM music in at the end. It was a great moment and so much fun. I honestly wouldn't change anything about our wedding and Robert was a huge part of that equation. Thank you!! -

We are so happy to have chosen Hilo Productions for our DJ & MC services on our 11/11/23 wedding!
So many things to rave about when it comes to Robert and his team:
Robert spent a lot of time getting to know both me and my now husband, prior to booking. He wanted to make sure he knew what kind of event we wanted, what traditions or customs we would be recognizing, and what vibes we wanted with our crowd! We're so appreciative of this as we recognize the DJ and MC truly set the tone for the reception. We knew immediately when we were done talking to him that we wanted to work with him and his team!
We needed a bilingual English/Vietnamese MC and Robert linked us up with his amazing MC, Linnie. I hopped on a call with her and heard her voice, her tone, and loved her personality! I knew that Robert selected the perfect person for the job. Linnie worked with me and my husband to get our families' name pronunciations correct, and ran through the reception with us so we knew what was going to happen. I had the utmost confidence in Linnie, and as expected, she killed it! She translated my dad's Vietnamese toast to English perfectly, and we received so many compliments about what an amazing MC she was! Linnie is sweet and funny, not cringey or anything at all - just pure joy!
Next, Robert selected DJ Derrick to be our DJ of the night. I'm so glad he did because Derrick truly delivered the ~*vibes*~ all night long!! All of the songs we selected for entrances went off without a hitch, he played amazing music for the reception (we booked them for reception only) during dinner, sneaking in a few of my absolute favorite songs that I really wanted to hear, and then he kept the dance floor busy all night! I loved the selection of music that really fit our preferences and our guests' preferences. He read the crowd and knew what music would keep the energy high and by the end of the night, I nearly lost my voice because I was having the best time dancing and singing. Shoutout to him also sneaking in my favorite song ever for a surprise in the last track too!! We also had so many wonderful comments about him after!!
Finally, Robert kept in touch with us throughout the process to make sure we were feeling okay leading up to the wedding. He understands all of the family obligations that comes with wedding planning, and makes sure that your wedding is something the couple actually wants, while also respecting our cultures! If I felt anxious, he always calmed me down, and I'm so appreciative of it!

There are two things that I personally look forward to most when going to weddings: the photo booth and the music/dancing. This did not change when planning for my own wedding.
Enter Robert. My husband and I were introduced to him by our planner who highly recommended him as a DJ and MC. His company also provided everything needed for the wedding ceremony as well as the photo booth so it was like an all in one package deal for us.
Eric and I have nothing but good things to say about Robert. He was always so enthusiastic, so friendly, so professional. We could tell he loves what he does. We had three official meetings - one to get to know each other, one to discuss some details with my dad (more on this later), and one to finalize all the details for the wedding day. He took great care each meeting to really delve into the nitty gritty of what we would want and not want for our wedding day. He was such a great listener during those meetings. But even beyond that, throughout the entire planning process, Robert made himself available to us by email and text. We never had a doubt about reaching him one way or the other.
His passion translates to great energy on the day of the wedding. As MC, he really was able to hype up the bridal party and also hype up the guests to keep everyone excited about the wedding night. He was able to keep people engaged on the different activities that would be happening throughout the night.
Something that he went out of his way on was regarding the father-daughter performance. Instead of a dance, my dad wanted for us to do a singing performance together and so, Robert worked with him personally to figure out the details of the performance. He made it a priority. Had an impromptu meeting with us to figure out the details. Even spent extra time with my dad during sound set up on wedding day to make sure that everything with the performance could go smoothly. It was a really special moment to sing with my dad on my wedding day so we really appreciate Robert helping to set this up.
As for the music, I am so grateful to Robert for working with us to make sure he played what we really wanted to hear throughout our wedding night to give us the mostly 90s-2000s vibes we wanted while seamlessly incorporating music as requested by my dad so that all the guests of all generations could enjoy. He fit in a mini emo set during dancing because it was something I really wanted. Even played a song three times in the night because I didn't hear it the first two times (sorry Robert lol). We had so many music requests and he was able to accommodate them all.
At the end of our wedding, the photo booth was hit for everyone and so was the dance floor! We couldn't imagine a better way to end our reception than dancing the night away with all of our close friends on the dance floor. -

Robert DJ'd/Emcee'd our wedding in April 2022 and we could not be more pleased with his delivery. During the planning process Robert was responsive, professional (and fun!) and really took the time to get to know us. He provided very helpful insight to the timeline of events and helped us feel more confident and comfortable. The night of the wedding, Robert made sure the party didn't stop - he took into account our music preferences and our guests LOVED his energy. I've had a few guests ask me since for his contact info for future events. Robert also ensured we stayed on time for all of our speeches/family dances. We cannot rave about Hilo Productions enough and highly recommend them! -

Robert from Hilo Productions was an excellent partner in planning our wedding! The team is very down to earth and immediately we can tell that they don't forget about the details. The services offered was comprehensive and based on their packages couples can easily work a plan that meets their budget. We opted for a DJ and Emcee service, and honestly without it, our wedding would not have been as fun and lively. In addition, Robert helped us strategize the perfect wedding plan and timeline from the ceremony all the way until the end of the reception. He was very catered to our venue which was at an airport (A helicopter was involved during this production!) and what we wanted to achieve. He is always available for advice and most importantly his experience in the industry provided meaningful impacts to our grand vision. We worked together for months to finalize our music preferences and the wedding details by the minute. We absolutely recommend Hilo Productions, we enjoyed our wedding so much that we wish we can have another one! Thanks Hilo for being a part of the best day of our lives! -

The Skinny: If you are looking for a hype man, DJ, entertainer, and all-around good guy to emcee your wedding, look no further!
Professionalism: Rob is one of the most professional yet personable individuals I've ever met! I had already encountered him a few times since he was the emcee for a few of my friends' weddings where I was on the wedding party. Every single time, he was consistent in his professionalism. When it came to my wedding, it was no different. Rob makes sure that you aren't just another client, but that he gets to know you as a human being. He truly shows that he cares for you. Rob met with us and we knew immediately we needed to book him! The care he took with having us work with him was very refreshing, and he was always reachable when we had questions or had something we wanted to add. Our wedding was very customized where we also added in an escape room-type game, and Rob was more than happy to "gamemaster" it with our given instructions.
Organization: Rob uses shared documents where we can all edit it together to keep things organized. He makes sure that we provide the necessary information by certain milestone dates, and he is always responsive with when we have questions on particular entries in the documents. Having the documents prepared for us to fill out was a lifesaver, and Rob also works with many other vendors and has developed a number of relationships over the years, so it's always great that he can get things moving along if we feel that there's a need to.
Skills: HYPE HYPE HYPE! If anything, when Rob emcees your event, nobody will EVER get bored. He can hype anything up as long as he knows what we want to be hyped. For things like party games, we weren't really sure what to do, but Rob's vast experience allowed him to pull these off with no issue at all. In addition, his DJing is still impressive and crowdpleasing, which is what we wanted in our wedding. You just can't go wrong with his experience and skills!
Conclusion: If I could give more than 5/5, I would! Very fair pricing, very impressive skills and professionalism. I would highly recommend Hilo Productions for any large event if you are looking to have a fun and exciting time! It took some time to write this review since our wedding back in July 2019, and that's because I wanted to make sure this review is reflective of the quality of Hilo Productions! -

Couldn't thank Robert enough for making our wedding day so memorable. He worked with us from the beginning keeping us in check with due dates for choosing our songs. Providing us with great recommendations as to what types of music we wanted. He provided us with a great bilingual co-mc that speaks Vietnamese and English to accommodate to our guests. We also had our first slow dance and hip hop dance coordinated to performed for our guest on our wedding day. He worked well with all the event vendors, including making sure the 4 big screen TV's and audio systems were ready to go.
But that's not all folks. My husband surprised me by serenading our first songs together in addition to having "All For One" sing their top hits at our wedding!! The night ended with Robert back into the Dj booth and smashing up some good ole jams for the tossing of the bouquet. The guests had a blast dancing their hearts away while chowing down on some late night pizzas.
Thanks to Robert and his crew, it was the best night of our life! Robert made sure it was a stress free day for the both of us knowing there are a lot of things happening (especially with the big surprise!). I'm not exaggerating when I say; my wedding day couldn’t be more perfect. Just reminiscing about this day really makes my heart smile all over again. We interviewed 3 Dj’s for our wedding and we picked Robert based on his professionalism, good taste in music and keeping things classy. He really kept in touch with us throughout our planning process and again, made it easier and stress free for us on the big day. Thank you Robert and team!

Booking Robert Hilo as our MC and DJ is one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding. We immediately knew that we had to book Robert himself after the first meeting that we had with him. Robert knows what he is talking about. He is knowledgeable and is experienced in his field. Most importantly he listens to us and hears our vision and our needs/wants. He is super detailed when it comes to planning the timeline. He is very easy to reach and is so down to earth to talk to. On the day of the wedding, we felt so at ease because he took care of everything and checked in with us very often. We love the positive and enthusiastic energy that he brought to the crowd. He is able to engage everyone to participate in the games and we love him for that. His music selection is also on point and our guests stayed on the dance floor until the end. We got so many good feedback from our guests about how good Robert is. We highly recommend Robert because he is just simply Amazing. You would not regret working with him. -

Hilo was nothing less than an awesome experience for us on our wedding day! Honestly, just book Hilo, you won't be disappointed. We had the pleasure of seeing him in action at a friends wedding before we booked him and he definitely is someone who gets the party started and the energy GOING! The wonderful thing about Robert is that he isn't the type of DJ who you hire, give a set list and say "Thanks," he actually takes the time on several occasions before the wedding, and events I assume, to meet and talk with you to get to know you, your likes and dislikes, your outside interests and personality. He wants the music experience to highlight you as a person, and its safe to say, he nailed it on our wedding night. One really cool thing about Hilo is that he can tell when the crowd maybe isn't feeling a song, and sure enough, he gets the dance floor PACKED in no time again. He also has a wild imagination, in a very good way! He comes up with crowd interaction games and activities to keep the night going strong. Also, if you're looking for a photo booth, he has one that is top notch, the quality of the pictures and the props we amazing. This is a man who knows what he is doing and is excellent at doing it, book Robert Hilo, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Choosing Robert was a no brainer for us. My husband has known him for a while as he has been the DJ/MC for several family weddings. When choosing our vendors, we wanted to make sure we knew their work and got a good vibe from them. We knew that with Robert we were getting a quality DJ. From our first meeting I knew he understood our theme and the music we liked. My husband and I didn’t stress out about the music once because we knew we were in the hands of a professional.
Throughout the whole process Robert not only helped us with wedding/lighting/photo-booth but he also helped us structure our timeline and gave us several tips that we had never thought about and made a huge impact; with weddings its always the small details! When talking to him about the vibe we wanted for our night he nailed it! My husband is Greek and I am Latin; we wanted both cultures and families to have music that would appeal to them… as well as the young crowd. Robert sourced Greek songs, Latin songs, Disney songs, musicals, etc. While he played a wide variety of songs from very different genres the whole night felt seamless. One thing that was particularly important for us was to keep the vibe of the night on a high note… and Robert delivered. Looking at our pictures recently we realized at one point everyone was on the dance floor having a great time! We danced until the last minute and we still wanted more.
I would recommend him to anyone getting married or having any kind of party! He is our family's official DJ for life!

My husband and I hired Hilo Productions for lighting, drapery, and DJ/MC services for our wedding, and we are so glad we did! The team helped us create an unforgettable night. We had been considering some lower-budget alternatives, but felt uneasy because we couldn't find the connection we were looking for.
After watching several of Robert's videos, we knew we wanted him at our wedding, and after we hired him, everything just clicked! He spent a significant amount of time speaking with my fiance and me to understand our priorities. He was able to tactfully guide us in aligning our visions, and was considerate about what our parents and families would want from the event. Robert was organized with his questions, which helped us gather our thoughts and solidify our timeline.
Our DJ Derrick was also amazing. We threw almost every genre of music at him and he was able to blend everything together throughout the night. As a team, Robert and Derrick kept the guests entertained and energized - our families raved about them for days after the event! Because Robert had spent so much time learning our priorities and communicating them to Derrick, they were able to quickly adapt when my husband and I decided to forgo the rest of the timeline and just join our friends on the dance floor.
Having Robert and Derrick for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made - by the end of the night, we felt they were our close friends. We're so happy that they were at our celebration! -
Breece Sent on 02/22/2018Can I just say, our friends and family can't stop talking about how amazing our wedding was (all thanks to HiLo). We used HiLo for quite a few things (and I am beyond thankful I did). HiLo helped with our wedding ceremony music, cocktail hour music, venue lighting, dance floor vinyl, and Photo Booth. Robert basically took charge of the night and made sure EVERYONE had one heck of a night. He had the dance floor on fire all night! He knew exactly how to keep up with our Mexican-Egyptian families, spinning everything from cumbias to arabic music, and hiphop to funk. We had about 200 guests and he knew exactly how to keep the momentum going. Definitely exceed everyone’s expectations! Not only did he help with the music, but helped with our venue lighting (including a back wall of string lights) which was absolutely breathtaking! Our Vinyl dance floor decal was one of a kind. He went above and beyond helping us in any way that he could. He was hands down, THE BEST vendor I worked with. We are forever grateful. Thank you Robert, for making our wedding night as memorable as it was! You truly made all the difference in making our wedding PERFECT. :)

After discussing details of how we envisioned the wedding, Robert offered his services to cater to our requests. The meeting went well and we decided to sign the contract that same day. We subsequently communicate via emails and text messages. Robert was very detailed orientated. We worked together on planning songs for grand entrance, first dance, and cake cutting. Our ceremony band could not be reached a week before the wedding so we ended up booking Robert last minute to play the ceremony music also. He was very accommodating. The ceremony went well. It didn't feel any less special because we didn't have a live orchestra. We actually liked how it turned out with instrumental music for prelude then played music with words as the bride walked down the aisle, sand ceremony and when the bride and groom exited. As for the reception, he promised us that he will not let the ballroom be filled with awkward silence. Our only goal was for the guests to remember the wedding as fun with great music. He certainly delivered that! After we came back from our honeymoon, our family and friends gave great compliments regarding our DJ/MC. They keep saying how fun the wedding was and how Robert kept people involved during games and dance floor activities. They also mentioned they liked his enthusiasm and how he kept the night flowing smoothly. Overall, we had lots of fun working with Robert throughout the whole process and were very satisfied with how the wedding day turned out. -

He collaborated with us to come up with not only the perfect setlist, but a detailed agenda for our special day. Even though Robert was unavailable to MC our wedding (due to another event), he informed us waaaaay ahead of schedule and ensured that he pair us up with someone we were compatible with--Tony! Robert is the mastermind of the production company and we had a great opportunity to talk about mine and my partner's interests and personalities. You really do learn a lot about yourselves as a couple and puts into perspective why you're getting married in the first place, which tends to get lost in all the wedding planning. So thank you Robert for doing this with us; It was like wedding therapy :D He genuinely takes a lot of time to understand you as couple in order to produce a great event.
Tony and Derrick were also great. They were very humble and always checked on us during our event to ensure we were having fun. I couldn't have imagined the entrance running seamlessly than it did. Thank you to Tony and Derrick for really working with our quirks and random song choices. That transition from Beastie Boys "You Gotta Fight For Your Right To Party" to the Jurassic Park theme song was on point! I'd get married again for that moment! -

If you're looking for a vendor that is all of the following: officiant + MC + DJ -- I highly recommend Robert. When you meet Robert, you will find that he is friendly, easy going, reassuring, and energetic. But when he is in his designated roles, such as an officiant or an MC -- he is able to conduct himself distinctively from each role, which highlights how professional he is. When he is in "DJ mode" he is in his zone and is focused on the dance floor atmosphere. When he is in his "MC mode" he is enthusiastic, humorous, and knows how to ramp up all guests -- even the introverted ones. Working with Robert, you won't have any doubts of his expertise. He knows what he's doing and he conveys that well to clients, other vendors, and even your bridal party. So you can be rest assured that he's got your back till the end of your wedding night. We are thankful for Robert's genuine support, tactfulness, and originality in his services. He made the planning process seamless, the day memorable, and the night filled with good vibes all around!
