Perfect custom ceremony music and cocktail hour

Ross and the Highline team are extremely talented and played beautifully at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Ross is very organized and has an easy song selection process which ensures you have the custom song list that you want. Highly recommend!

The most talent quartet ever!

We hired Highline Quartet to play at our ceremony and cocktail hour for our wedding day and they were absolutely amazing. The entire ceremony was just perfect. Ross was a pleasure to work with. Very responsive leading up to the wedding. The musicians played beautifully and it added such a romantic touch to our ceremony. Thank you Ross and your amazing team of outstanding musicians. Beautiful Music

Highline String Quartet were a wonderful addition to our wedding! The pop music mixed in with some classics made the welcome, ceremony and cocktail hour unforgettable! Our guests loved the surprise of modern music on strings! What a beautiful night and the strings players really added to it.

Incredible selection of music!!

We hired the Highline Quartet for our wedding on 10/29 to play the ceremony music and cocktail hour music and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about how fantastic they were to work with. Ross was so responsive in the months leading up to our wedding to help get us all set up for the wedding, and the day of the group was so professional and played all of the music we asked for. Their selection of music was unparallel, amazing combination of modern and classic songs - we were so in awe of the selection and they played it beautifully!!

Amazing musical experience for your wedding

We loved having the Highline String Quartet play our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. They were incredibly easy to work with, and their repertoire is amazing. We wanted all pop songs - and a walk down the aisle to Dancing Queen! - and they did an amazing job. I’d highly recommend them for your next event!

Incredible!

Highline Strings are a must-have for any event in NYC!!! The whole process was so seamless and Ross is super responsive. The musicians were so talented and professional. Their repertoire is so extensive and impressive- Highly highly recommend!!! Love love love! We had them play at our microwedding in Central Park and it was just the best experience ever. Highline String Quartet made our wedding incredibly special!

We can’t say enough wonderful things about the Highline String Quartet. They played for our cocktail hour and throughout dinner at our wedding this past spring. A super talent group of musicians, they have an extensive repertoire and have such elegant takes on modern music. We loved the added dimension of the percussionist, which gave us a relaxed, yet lively vibe we were looking for. Working with them was super easy, and they listened to exactly what we wanted. A must have for any wedding!

Amazing!

We found out about the Highline serendipitously by watching random wedding videos on Youtube lol. We were sooooo impressed that we decided we must hire them for our ceremony and reception, and they did not disappoint! They were super organized and provided us with an extensive repertoire of music from which to choose, both classical and modern. We really enjoyed picking the music as we made a playlist that became our wedding planning music lol. Everyone loved it! It really gave a special touch to the ceremony and cocktail hour. Highly recommend if you want to take your special day to the next level.

Phenomenal Group

I had heard the group at a prior wedding I went to and immediately knew that I wanted them at my wedding. They exceeded all of our expectations and the guests all raved about the musical talents. The ceremony music was incredibly important to me and I will always remember it as being one of my favorite parts of the evening. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Beautiful music! Smooth process to book.

Beautiful music! Working with the Highline String Quartet was super easy and smooth. I remember that when selecting our music vendor, we compared several and found that the HSQ was the most expressive... and it was even more true in person! They did a great job and some of our guests even commented that their music was a highlight of the evening.

Superb ceremony and cocktail hour music

Can't recommend Highline enough - they played our ceremony and cocktail hour and were absolutely a pleasure to work with and so, so talented. I wanted a more modern feel with our music, with a few more traditional songs and they were able to execute flawlessly between the different genres. They were just so enjoyable and I'm so happy we found them.

Superb Team and Experience

We really enjoyed having the Highline String Quartet team come and play for our ceremony and our cocktail hour. Plucking Our Heart Strings

Highline Quartet is filled with talented musicians. They accommodated everything we asked for and were flexible when we changed our music choices two weeks before the wedding day. They took requests during the cocktail reception and people were amazed when they went from the Lord of the Rings theme to classical to September. Walking down the aisle to Beauty and the Beast played on violin was everything I ever could've imagined. Excellent group!

Beautiful music for our beautiful day

The Highline Quartet was just fantastic. From coordination leading up to our wedding day (working with Ross) to the day itself, everything was easy and seamless. The group arrived on time and played for our guests before our ceremony, during our ceremony, and then after the ceremony during cocktail hour, exactly as we had planned. They played our selected ceremony songs BEAUTIFULLY, in the right order, at the right moments -- and really just added to the overall ambience of the venue + the evening. We could not recommend them more if you're looking for an instrumental group to play at your wedding!

Beautiful music for Ceremony and Cocktail Hour

Highline String Quartet played all the requested songs throughout our outdoor wedding service and cocktail hour beautifully. They played the Game of Thrones theme song for the recessional for which we received many high fives and compliments! They are very receptive to your personal requests so much so if there is a song you would like that they do not currently have on their playlist they will gladly learn and play it.

AMAZING experience.

Amazing to work with!

We saw HighLine perform at a friend's wedding. We loved their mix of pop songs and oldie renditions. It was super effortless to book with them. They even did composition for two special songs for my procession at my request. The two songs turned out beautifully

Very pleased with Highline

We hired Highline for our wedding and they were professional and easy to communicate with. Our guests loved the pieces they played for our cocktail hour and ceremony. We had a picture perfect experience that was made even more beautiful with the wonderful music that they played to accompany it. They offered a diverse and large collection of songs for us to choose from and also were able to choose pieces to play that matched the mood of the day. We greatly appreciated not having to make EVERY song decision. Very professional and very talented musicians.

Great Hire

We hired Highline String Quartet for the ceremony portion of our wedding. Their performance surpassed our expectations. They performed 2 songs that were not even included in their repertoire, (which meant they had to learn the songs) and did it beautifully. From the day I reached out to Ross, he went above and beyond to ease my nerves for the day. I would definitely hire them again in the future as well as recommend them to my closest friends and family.

Highline String Quartet completely knocked it out of the park at our wedding. They were a HUGE hit with the guests, and everyone raved about the amazing mix of songs. It was extremely easy to set things up with them, and Ross was very organized and made sure everything was set up the way we wanted it to be. Truly amazing musicians - so happy we chose them

Highline String Quartet played during our church ceremony and they made all the difference in the world. Their song list is extensive and the musicians played each of our song selections beautifully. My husband wanted to process out of the ceremony to a song called "Still Alive" from the video game Portal. This was not on the repertoire list but they were able to learn it and play it perfectly. Ross was amazing to work with. He was always professional, responsive, and answered all of our questions. We could not have been more pleased with Highline String Quartet.

Guests are still raving about them

Highline Quartet was one of the first, and easiest vendor decisions we made throughout the process. Ross was very responsive and helpful during our initial discussions and their repertoire was extensive and fun! We knew we didn't want selections that were too classical (although they have those too!) so it was great to have so many different options. My husband's favorite choice detail of the day was processing down to 'Concerning Hobbits'. Everyone, other vendors included, had so much fun with their selections during cocktail hour.

Amazing from start to finish!

I cannot recommend Highline String Quartet more highly. They played at our wedding (in two locations) and were the hit of the night. Every aspect of working with them was fantastic, from initial planning and prep to the amazing professionalism of the musicians who created a stress-free piece of the day. They were helpful and accommodated all our requests.

All our guests said what a great addition they were to the wedding and the pop-music-on-strings was definitely something most people hadn't heard before.

Perfect musicians to be their on our special day!

We are so happy with our choice to hire highline strings. They made our ceremony unique and beautiful and played traditional songs along with top hits. Highly recommend

Hiring Highline String Quartet was a great decision. Ross was very responsive and everything about the process leading up to the wedding was so simple and straightforward (contract, payment, song selection, etc).

Their repertoire is extensive and I was able to find most songs I was looking for. If you're looking for classical music or if you're a fan of Vitamin String Quartet I would definitely recommend Highline String Quartet!

The Highline Quartet did an amazing job at our wedding. Their song list is extremely extensive, and we were able to curate a great playlist of songs we loved, which the team executed to perfection. One of my favorite moments was when the quartet played Let It Go from Frozen just for our flower girl and her father, and it was simply adorable. They played during both our ceremony as well as cocktail hour and were fantastic during both. The team was extremely easy to work with, the pricing was very fair, and most importantly, the final product exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing from start to finish!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Highline String Quartet. Music is a huge part of our lives and our relationship, and the music playing in our wedding ceremony was one of the wedding's most important elements. From the moment we inquired, Ross was amazing. He was always quick to respond to emails and answer any questions. The quartet has a very long and well curated list of songs to choose from, but in addition to those choices, we requested a custom arrangement for our processional, and the end result was so beyond what we ever imagined. Magical evening at Jane's Carousel

I booked Highline on short notice, for an out-of-the-ordinary proposal at Jane's Carousel. Ross responded immediately to my request and was fantastic to work with from logistics to song selection to, of course, the actual performance. For the finale, the entire quartet ended up with us on the horses, with Highline playing Canon in D. It was nothing short of magical.

Absolutely amazing...

Ross and his string Quartet were absolutely amazing. As the old adage goes, "you get what you pay for." This applies to Highline String Quartet and then some. Ross made the entire process very simple, from beginning to end. He was also most accommodating in ensuring all of our wants and needs were met; he even went as far as customizing our recessional piece, per our request. We always envisioned having a string quartet at our wedding, but never did we dream it would be as amazing, as breathtaking as it was with Highline String Quartet. They more than exceeded our expectations. A truly talented group of hardworking individuals. We highly, highly recommend Ross and his musicians. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

Splurge and include highline string quartet

I can understand why Highline String Quartet is one of the most sought after string quartets for wedding music! We had the group play for our ceremony, instead of a traditional organist, as well as for cocktail hour at our reception.

The quartet made our ceremony so intimate and much more "us", as well as set a fun up beat vibe during cocktail hour and helped really get the party started!

We requested primarily contemporary music, as a shift away from the typical wedding tunes, and their renditions of each and every song were spectacular. I walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" and there wasn't a dry eye in the house! Mine included!!

Ross and the musicians who came the night of our wedding were a total pleasure to work with. Throughout the entire process, Ross was extremely responsive, well organized, and helpful in answering any and all questions that I had.

My husband and I are very glad we splurged and included the Highline String Quartet in our wedding!

A wonderful addition to our day

If you are thinking of hiring musicians for your big day, I couldn't recommend The Highline String Quartet enough. They have been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Even down to questions I considered to be silly, they were happy to answer - nothing was too much trouble. We chose New York as our destination wedding, and being from the UK, it helped to deal with such friendly people to deal with. They helped us with decisions on how much music we would need, and when we would need it, they made it all very simple. We couldn't have asked for better!

Beautiful music we'll remember for the rest of our lives

Highline String Quartet's musicians made our ceremony and cocktail hour really special. They played so well and set the mood perfectly -- before and during the ceremony, and then downstairs as the party started.

We asked them to play mainly pop music, and their renditions of the songs we loved were so lovely to hear and so well done. We also requested that they accompany the DJ for the recessional, which they sounded great doing, too!

Ross and the musicians who came the night of our wedding were a total pleasure to deal with beforehand and that night - no stress, flexible, responsive, and a really wide variety of awesome pop songs to choose from. Ross was also quite helpful when we were choosing songs ahead of time.

We'll remember the music they played as we walked down the aisle for the rest of our lives, and we're really glad we chose Highline String Quartet.

Ross and his team played at our Prospect Park Boathouse wedding and we could not be happier. Ross is always responsive throughout the planning process and even suggested the amplifier which came into great use when the day started getting misty and the quartet needed to play inside for my outdoor ceremony! They also have a great google survey system to submit song requests and most all of our requests were played before ceremony and cocktail hour.

The ceremony music went off without a hitch! They knew how to finish or extend a song without guest noticing. The quartet also made cocktail hour so fun but classy with pop songs on strings. One of the violinist rocked so hard he broke his E string! My husband and I are upstairs most of the time during the cocktail hours and were dancing and singing to the music the whole time because they were so good! My guests also raved about them afterwards and expressed interest to book them for their weddings.

You won't regret having Ross and his team at your wedding or events! Will definitely recommend them to anyone who want a classic and elegant touch to their event!

Highline Quartet delivers! I love some quality classical and my wife loves pop. Between our two tastes they were able to play a huge range of songs! My wife’s dream was to walk down the aisle to Titanic’s My Heart Will Go On (I know...) with the highline quarters help that dream was delivered. Cocktail hour music was a hit - they played an awesome range of songs. The quartet has some chops and can play anything you want! Wedding guests kept complimenting us on the quartet. I would 100% recommend them again!

Highline String Quartet did an excellent job performing at our wedding. Everything sounded great and we received tons of compliments from guests. Ross was super easy to work with and handled all of our pre-wedding day questions promptly. There was a large list of songs to choose from, so we were able to pick some more traditional songs for the ceremony and then some fun, not-so- traditional stuff for the cocktail hour (i.e. David Bowie, Talking Heads, Carly Rae Jepsen, Britney Spears) Overall, we were very happy we chose Highline String Quartet to be part of our celebration.

Highline String Quartet was amazing! Not only was everyone happy with the music selections and was dancing along to everything they played, we asked for a few custom selections and couldn't have been more happy with .how well they were arranged. It took me awhile to post this but our wedding was 5/26/18 and we contracted with HSQ more than a year in advance but throughout the entire process they were extremely helpful and responsive. We couldn't recommend them enough!

We booked Highline String Quartet as our ceremony and cocktail hour musicians (both outdoor venues), and we cannot rave enough about them. They were incredibly responsive to all of our inquiries, they made music selection super easy, and payment was a breeze. But what made them absolutely out of this world was their music on the wedding day. We'd made some special requests for ceremony music (including one song that wasn't on their repertoire list), and they played everything perfectly. Their timing was impeccable, the volume was perfect, and their musicianship was stunning--all without even meeting us in person for a rehearsal. It was exactly what we'd hoped for. They were so professional and made our day even more special. Our only regret is that we didn't have the chance to go thank them in person before they left the venue after the cocktail hour. They were amazing.

We are so happy that we chose the Highline String Quartet for our wedding. They played various Beatles songs before the ceremony and we chose from their list for the cocktail hour. We hired Highline Quartet to provide the music for our wedding ceremony. Ross was helpful throughout the planning process and on the day of the event he coordinated with our officiant to add a few fun twists to the proceedings. They played throughout the pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cocktail hour. Their repertoire of music includes classic strings music that everyone is familiar with, along with some really fun interpretations of pop songs and movie soundtracks. The end result was a great variety of music that our guests really enjoyed. We would highly recommend the services of Highline Quartet for weddings or other events.

If you are looking for a string quartet that is completely out of the ordinary / not basic - please use these guys. I had my friends, and my older family members, and everyone in between randomly come up to me during my wedding to tell me how they were BLOWN AWAY by the High Line String Quartet and how good they were. My one aunt told me she was "expecting to be bored" at our ceremony, but was absolutely entranced. They played the coolest songs - David Bowie, Queen, Smashing Pumpkins..and also played my favorite classical songs as well. INCREDIBLE. I can't say enough about these guys!

We had the highline string quartet play for our pre-ceremony, ceremony and cocktail hour. They were amazing. They arrived early and were completely set up in time for guests. They followed the music perfectly and were able to create the perfect ambiance for when I walked down the aisle. They were able to play so many different songs in a range of different genres it was great addition to the cocktail hour. Additionally, they were organized and proactive in following up which when you are planning is great that you do not have to hunt down a vendor. If you are looking for a group to play any song with a classical spin I would highly recommend then. Cannot wait to figure out another event to hire them for!

Our experience with the Highline String Quartet was outstanding in every way. The musicianship was excellent; the playlist from which to choose was very extensive and extraordinarily diverse (ranging from, obviously, classical through jazz, folk, traditional pop, more recent rock, Broadway musicals and opera). We chose pieces from many of these and the quartet, accompanied by a drummer for our wedding luncheon, did all of these with aplomb. They are also quite accommodating in regard to one's own choices if they are not on their list. Our guests found the music sufficiently inspiring to actually dance to some of the pieces even though we had chosen not to provide a dance floor because of time limitations at our venue. Ross (the quartet's manager musician) could not have been easier to work with and reach, by e-mail and phone - even when he was in Europe. I strongly recommend them.

Literally one of the most favorite parts of my wedding! Very responsive with a wonderful selection of pop and classical music. I got to walk down the aisle to Beyonce's Halo! The Highline Quartet played at my NYC wedding July 2017. The process of working with Ross was seamless and enjoyable. Pricing was incredibly reasonable. We had this fantastic string quartet at a summer birthday party and they were wonderful. The party was at an apartment with a terrace, not an event space but they made everything, including the set up, so easy and even played outside on the terrace. They played great music and many requests, pleasing everyone from serious opera fans, to a four-year-old. They were flexible with the time (we ended up asking them to play another hour) and their music just made the party. I cannot recommend Highline String Quartet highly enough for a surprisingly easy way to make any party fun and elegant.

Highline Quartet were brilliant to work with from start to finish as we organised live music for our outdoor wedding ceremony in Central Park. They were quick to respond to my initial query, flexible to meet our needs, happy to go back and forth many times regarding our chosen songs... On the day itself, the musicians were there in good time, very self sufficient, and got playing with no fuss at all. All our guests commented how much the live music added to the experience, and how talented they were in playing our chosen songs (which were more pop based than classical). They were happy to work with our officiant to time the beginning/ends of songs correctly which was very much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Highline Quartet!

Fabulous quartet of young, energetic and talented musicians!! Played for about 15-20 minutes before the ceremony, the processional and then for a 60 minute cocktail hour. Did classical pieces for the ceremony and more contemporary selections for cocktails. Got a plethora of compliments from the guests. Easy to deal with, reasonable pricing and responded immediately to all emails. Don't look an further..... they are phenomenal.

The Highline Quartet were absolutely amazing and did a wonderful job. They were very accommodating and helpful and played beautifully on the day. Everybody commented how talented they were and what a wonderful atmosphere they created :)

These guys were prob one of the biggest highlights of my wedding! They played the classical songs during the ceremony beautifully and were a great hit with the crowd when they busted out the pop renditions during cocktail hour. Everyone was amazed and enjoyed the music. I opted to get the amplification package which I would highly recommend, especially if your wedding is on the bigger side. Ross was always very communicative throughout the whole process and very professional. Trust me, they are worth the money!

My fiancee and I found the Highline String Quartet (HSQ) via wedding wire 6 months before our wedding at The Highlands Country Club in upstate NYC. Their music samples on their website sounded great and they had a good reviews, so we pulled the trigger and hired them.

Ross, our point of contact, was very nice and accommodating. My fiancee and I wanted to walk down the aisle to Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill." Within hours, we had an email from Ross saying he was able to download the sheet music and he and the quartet would learn and play it for our wedding. Ross also supplied a mic for our officiant to speak into and for us to deliver our vows. This was a great addition since we had about 150 guests and they wouldn't have been able to hear us without the proper mic & amplification.

The HSQ played for several hours during the precessional, ceremony, and cocktail hour and left when the DJ arrived. They were all very polite, professional, and we received SO MANY COMPLIMENTS from our guests, saying how wonderful the quartet was. Both I and my fiancee would recommend them to any of our closest friends and family members.

Thank you HSQ for having made our wedding such a memorable occasion.

The Highline String Quartet came highly recommended from a friend and they turned out to be even better than his glowing review! They played for the ceremony and cocktail hour for our wedding at the Loeb Boathouse. Ross was extremely responsive and very easy to work with, and the whole quartet did a wonderful job the day of the wedding. They were able to accommodate our music choices and did a perfect job. They were also helpful in recommending that we use an amp for cocktail hour given the number of guests we had (around 200). They were able to do a perfect mix of pop and more classical music. I couldn't recommend them any more highly!

These guys are great! They really are first class. The range of music they are able to play is really amazing. The acoustic pop songs were so fun to listen to and really helped to make the night special! I would definitely recommend them and look forward to working with them in the future!

The string quartet was fantastic and really helped set the tone of our wedding ceremony. We wanted to change it up for the cocktail hour so Ross put together a jazz trio for us which was equally as fantastic. Ross was professional and easy to work with and it was really nice that he was able to accommodate the songs we had chosen for the ceremony. My husband and I highly recommend highline!

I know that often a score of 5 across the board is suspect however Ross and the team at Highline String Quartet did a fantastic job for us recently at an 80th Birthday celebration where live musicians made the party a success. Ross worked with us to find the right combination of musicians to meet the musical tastes of the party goers as well as fit it all into a reasonable budget. The musicians were professional and highly talented. Many guest were asking for contact information to use them at their future celebrations. The Highline String Quartet made the event a complete success.

Ross began by really listening to what we were trying to do. He guided us through potential options and then paired our wishes with some absolutely killer musicians and a "wow" vocalist. They created a special ambiance. As soon as our guests entered the room, they knew that this would be no ordinary birthday party! Thank you Highline.

Highline Quartet were awesome! I booked them to propose to my, now, fiancée in a private dining room in TriBeCa. The played a medley of modern songs (Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake etc) and it couldn't have gone better. They turned into a string quartet jukebox playing everything from Nirvana to Leonard Cohen. I would highly recommend.

All of our guests loved the ceremony music! Highline Quartet was extremely responsive and were able to play everything we requested. And they were FAR less expensive than alternative options through our band company. Could not be happier!

Engaging the Highline String Quartet to play at my daughter’s wedding was a great decision. They were incredible and unique. Our guests were delighted at the musical prelude to the ceremony as well as the ceremony and cocktail hour music. My only regret is that I could not stop to just listen to how wonderful they were. Their set list is phenomenal and their execution of the music is fantastic. They would be an added attraction to any party. I wish I could hire them to play for me every Saturday night.

I booked highline quartet on a recommendation I received from our wedding planner and I could not be happier. Ross was very responsive and easy to work with via email. The quartet was able to play our requested processional and recessional songs without issues. They were perfect and I am very happy we booked them. Highline quartet was probably our easiest vendor to book and are affordable.

The quartet was wonderful! They played for both our ceremony and our cocktail hour, as I wanted something a little different than the norm. They played classical pieces for the ceremony and then switched it up and played more modern songs during the cocktail hour, and both styles sounded amazing. So glad we booked them!

The Highline String Quartet is absolutely worth booking for your wedding or gig! Their performance during the ceremony was beautiful, classic, just as we imagined. While our guests chatted over h'ordeurves for cocktail hour, their energetic pop arrangements transformed the mood from elegant to chic NY wedding. They also used iPads to read the music instead of regular binders with music - very hi-tech! Ross was wonderful to work with for the months before the wedding. They were very accommodating with our song choices, and they even made arrangements for songs that didn't already have a string quartet arrangement (which turned out amazing). They also accompanied our officiant, who sang the opening prayer. I can't say enough good things about the musicality and professionalism of this group. Tip for future couples: when in doubt, definitely choose amplification so you can hear their beautiful music! Thank you for making our day so special, Highline String Quartet!

We're so happy with our decision to hire Highline String Quartet for our Prospect Park Boathouse wedding this fall.

They are true professionals, and I never worried about waiting on a reply (Ross is amazing and very quick to response) or wondered if they could accommodate a change or request. As musicians, they are top notch. Everyone raved about them. I love that they have a strong pop repertoire — it was so fun to hear some of our favorite current songs on classical strings as guests were being sat. And they killed our ceremony music as well. There really is nothing like having live music at your ceremony -- it added so much energy and emotion.

Couldn't be happier with our choice, and I highly recommend them if you're looking for an excellent quartet for great value!

We had such a wonderful ceremony which the Highline Quartet were a massive part of. They were so professional, arriving nearly an hour before the ceremony & they were such nice people as well! They even played a song for us that we requested that they'd never played before. Amazing musicians, we recommend them highly! Wayne & Marie
