    Perfect day

    Heston event center really knows how to help you plan your day. We are sad we won’t be getting married again cause working with them was the best. I would recommend this place to anyone looking from around LaPorte Indiana. We were from the south side of Chicago and nobody had a complaint of the drive or anything. The price is great and they are a very nice layout and decorated to make you feel like you paid an arm and a leg we didn’t have to add very much to make it just right. Go check it out if you are looking!!! Best of luck to you!!

    I cannot say enough about the quality of the service, food and ambiance of Heston Hills. Sue will make your day perfect. Well, ours was the best, but she will do a great job for your event also! Lol. Your guests will love the food and the grounds and just the flow of the venue. It is "all inclusive" so you never have to worry about the details. This was the best choice we made. Our day was perfect!

    Thank you for making my wedding day absolutely perfect! Sue and Tracy were so great to work with. Sue went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and had everything I needed during a high stress time. I got many compliments on the food and the look of the venue itself for my winter wedding- it was decorated perfectly. Bridal suite and grooms room were convenient for getting ready day of the wedding. We used the outdoor deck for beautiful winter pictures. Price for my wedding was more than reasonable compared to others in the area. Cannot say enough great things about Sue and her staff!

    Sue and the staff were amazing. It was a perfect dream wedding with the help of the Heston Staff. The room looked amazing and perfect with every detail from napkin folding to chair ties...perfect!!! Even the landscaping was beautiful for those outside pictures. Sue has a schedule of events the day of the wedding and the staff sticks to it to make sure everything is done on time. I didn't have to worried about anything, it was all taken care of for us. We had over 230 guests and we received many compliments on the whole evert. I have two more children to get married someday and I hope we do it there again!!!!! Thank You Heston Team!!!!

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I had my wedding there on 8/8/2015 and having it at Heston Hills Banquets made all the difference! First off, I loved that the location has both an outside (Prairie Terrace) that is surrounded by nature and a lovely/elegant, grand ballroom on the inside (Galena room). So naturally, I chose to have both my ceremony AND reception there! What I also really liked about the "plan B" location for the ceremony just in case it rained (Prairie view room). Secondly, the event coordinator there, Sue, was such a huge help! I met with her on several occasions going over the food (Heston provides the food-so good!), drink, chair/table, and decoration options. Could't have done it without her! Third and final point, is that all of this was at a very good price! I was looking around for several months trying to find venues that had what I was looking for that didn't come with a Chicago amount price tag. It was a win-win in the end!
    The day of the wedding came around and everything went so smoothly! Nothing went wrong at all-absolutely flawless! Sue and her assistant kept the flow of things moving at a good pace and they arranged everything with the vendors on site.

    So, if you're looking for a perfect ceremony and/or reception site, look no further :)

    I literally cannot say enough about the amazing people at Heston Hills Event Center. From the moment we walked into the building, we knew it was the place we wanted to have our reception. Heston has almost everything you could ever need right at your fingertips: rental items for your center pieces, a WONDERFUL menu of food to choose from, and the BEST staff you could ever imagine working with for your reception. Sue was absolutely a delight to work with for our reception. From the first moment we met her, she immediately showed interest in what we wanted for our reception and did not push anything on us that we didn't want. She explained how things worked with their contract, menus, items to rent, etc. very thoroughly, and was extremely quick to respond to any emails we sent her. On top of all of it, their pricing was so affordable and made us even more comfortable knowing we were getting a great product for a great price.

    On our wedding weekend, she went above and beyond to help set up our tables, make sure we had everything ready to go, and then, when the power went out about 25 minutes before dinner was to be served, she scrambled her team to get their generators working and made sure that food was properly prepared and everyone got their amazing dinners! She treated us like we were members of her own family with her flexibility and dedication to making sure everything went smoothly, even when the power outage threatened to not make it so! She came through for us, as well as the entire staff working with her! We are so grateful we picked Heston Hills, and you should absolutely do the same! If you do consider Heston, make sure you go to the Heston Hills Supper Club (same owners for both locations) to try out the prime rib: You will definitely put it on your menu for your reception!

    Heston Hills was wonderful to work with. Sue and Tracy know there stuff and are very easy going. I knew the first time I visited the venue it was it; shoot who I am lying I knew when I looked online that it was it! The location is perfect, for a big or small event. I loved the fact that we were able to have the ceremony and reception at one location. We had perfect weather for our ceremony, so it was outside on their patio, but the location has a great back up plan if it would have rained. They allow you to come and visit as much, or as little as you need. Sue, and Tracy are extremely helpful and the day wouldn’t have gone as smoothly if it wasn’t for them. I know they did more then I probably even realize. They had appetizers waiting for us when we were done with pictures, and they checked on my husband and I a few times throughout the night to make sure everything was going well. The serving staff was wonderful and extremely pleasant. Our guest had nothing, but great things to say about the bartender! The staff worked well with all of our vendors there was no hiccups in our day because everyone worked together. I can’t say enough about this place. If you are considering this place, set ups a time to meet with them it’s worth every penny!

    This is a beautiful venue for both a wedding and reception. The staff is amazing and the food is delicious! Make sure you get the prime rib carving station!!

    All of the staff was very professional, customer oriented and attentive. The customer service was exceptional from the planning stages through the end of the event. The venue coordinator Sue took care of all the details and did a great job.

    The food was delicious, served hot, quick and efficiently. Heston Hills worked with our other venders to make our daughters wedding day special.

    Jane did a great job getting the hall all set up for my reception. It looked beautiful, the food was fantastic and the bartenders were a lot of fun!

    The made the reception go very smoothly :-)

    Jane is wonderful!! She is very accommodating and is terrific to work with!! She made my parents and I feel very comfortable throughout the entire process.

    My wedding was amazing at this venue! Love the options to make the day exactly how you want it with the indoor/outdoor set up and photo backgrounds. Staff was very responsive and accommodating to make the day run smoothly. Great experience overall!!

    Awful Coordinator


    My sister recently held her ceremony at Heston Hills. I will start off by saying the venue is beautiful and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the coordinator, Sue, was horrendous. Weddings are stressful, of course, but a decent coordinator’s purpose is to alleviate stress, not be a source of it. The best way I can describe Sue’s demeanor over the weekend is an ROTC dropout/drill sergeant wannabe. During the rehearsal, she was combative, uncoachable, defensive, and rude. She made snarky comments to the mother of the bride and treated the bride and grooms family like the enemy. She became defensive when it was pointed out to her that the doors were opened on the incorrect time during the processional song, during rehearsal. That is what rehearsal is for, to work out the kinks and orchestrate the flow of the ceremony. But she acted like it was a personal insult when I tried to amend a minor mistake. Then the day of the ceremony came. She paraded potential brides through the bridal party’s dressing room while we were getting ready. Very strange and inappropriate. She made several off-color remarks, one that made us particularly uncomfortable about my father “seeing us girls naked a thousand of times”. I’m not sure what goes on in her home, but my father does not see his grown daughters in the nude, and it was a very unnecessary remark. Matters only got worse from there. Weddings run on the brides time. Everyone who has ever worked in the wedding industry seems to realize that, except Sue. It’s difficult to determine whether she is extremely inexperienced, insufficiently trained, or just low class. She would aggressively barge into the dressing room to yell at the BRIDE and her bridesmaids to hurry up. She then stormed off saying the wedding would start at 3 o’clock sharp, whether we were ready or not. Mind you, this was at 2:58 and we were dressing the bride. This should be a magical, cherished moment, putting on your late grandmothers pearls to adorn your wedding dress, moments before you walk down the aisle. 5 minutes late is hardly unreasonable, yet when I stated that we would be out when we finish getting dressed, she slammed the door shut, then swung it open in a fit of rage and yelled “what did you just say to me?”. Uncalled for. She truly acted like she wanted to physically fight me because we were running 5 minutes behind schedule. It is astonishing to see a single review praising her. Maybe she is past her prime or a couple weeks in quarantine has caused her to forget her manners and ability to act appropriately in society. Either way, I’m glad the reception was at a separate location and the evening turned out perfectly, despite Sue, not because of her. I would strongly suggest considering ANY other location if you are planning a wedding in northern Indiana. After the wedding, I brought it to her attention that her behavior was unprofessional and not appreciated. Of course, she once again became combative and aggressive. She did not offer an apology or even acknowledge her mistakes. At least attempt to make up an excuse? It is a shame because the venue has so much potential and I refuse to believe Sue is the best Laporte has to offer.
